Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

I'm sure that several aminal and animal byproducts, and plants will be imported after the severe western fires and eastern hurricane and devastating floods. The Carolinas are known for hogs and eggs and I'm not sure to what extent that's still true.

I know when the store I worked at, imported beautiful wooden puzzle boxes from Italy, Poland, and Ukraine, we had to hire someone in NYC to affix custom stickers to each box still on the ship. I do not know or remember why that wasn't completed before shipment.

The point is that we were told that the simple act of affixing a label meant we could have legally stamped a made in America label on the boxes as it was the last finishing touch before arriving at their destination. It sounds stupid but it illustrates how more than one step and possibly more than one country is involved in sales and manufacture. That is why these recent tariffs will not affect just finished imports but parts as well.

What a change in just two months, so cute!

JaneS

Thanks everyone!  My big regret is that she is so far away.  But they will be here in about 3 weeks for a one week visit and I plan to stock up on hugs and kisses while I can.

I'm afraid the secret she is sharing is with her Grammy.  My daughter took the picture on one of her many visits to Oklahoma where she lives.

Of course, I think she's beautiful!  And I love her to pieces!

Shirley

And I still think she looks like Reba!.... and of course, her Great Grammy Jane.  So cute!  Now get out your baby pics, we want to compare, please?   Thanks for posting, Bubble....

I got all the Colorado bugs washed off the RV today to make room for the Missouri ones.  Have not caught up on my sleep or house work .... in the house & RV.  BUT, all the things I lost are found, in most cases, right after replacing what was lost.  Always the way, right?  I am one tired old lady & think a nap is in the other room so better go check.  Ohhhhhhhhhhh, had a look out the back door & remember I MUST vac the pool before a nap.  :'(    (...... give me the simple life (a song in there, yes?)

I have a picture of me when I was just a little older than Emma is now.  I don't think she looks much like me other than that we are both round faced.  I was a blonde blue eyed kid until I was about 10 then my hair started to get darker.  It was never really dark....just dirty blonde.  Emma's eyes might still be blue but they are darker than they were when I saw her last.  And I'm the only one in my family of six...husband, 4 kids and me that has blue eyes.

I don't know how to get this picture on the screen.  Maybe when Cindy and the kids are here, they can do it.  And I bet Cindy can teach me how to post photos if she has time.  She has lots of friends to visit and the other side of her family is also here.  They're going to be busy!

Been a busy day around here, got the Colorado bugs washed off the RV so there is room for Missouri ones in Oct. Even got the pool cleaned and few other jobs.  Got the photos from my youngest son's "adventure" of seeing a rock slide on the other mountain from where he had hiked.

My son had hiked a mile or so "up the mountain" from the campground when he heard "an explosion/bomb? or maybe an earthquake".... managed to see smoke on the mountain across from where he was.  Took a series photos of the smoke (turned out to be rock dust).... from a huge rock slide. He was disappointed I didn't see or hear because I was taking a nap.  The other son was on his way back to Kansas.  But he had the evidence of something out of the ordinary!  He has a degree in geology so was excited about his adventure.

Mary Ann

Oh, my, Shirley, those are some pictures of the dust.  Your son was in the right place at the right time.

Mary Ann

Shirley

That's what I thought, Mary Ann.  He was on "the mountain over", but he didn't waste much time getting down & back to the campground.  Think he realized that can happen anywhere & finally realized why I asked him to take along a "walkie-talkie" so we could keep track of each other.  He didn't, but there is no cell signal in that area so I was uneasy having one go off alone & not know what direction.  I didn't worry (maybe a little) when the "boys" went off together or basically the same direction. I knew there was no way I could hike out to look for him if he didn't get back. Since he is an "I-T" person with a large company, he has the latest & knows how to get the most out of his phone/camera, & he opted not to take one of my cameras that have a long zoom with him this time out because he took along a bag to bring back rocks.  We've hauled rocks home that kid's whole life!   ::)

Jane, if you haven't opened your own gallery for photos, this is working so easy now... new system recently.... to load the photos from my desktop (easier to find them than putting them in Pictures or Documents).... load them into my gallery... I still don't have mine set up right, only one category "Kids & Pets".... but they still load.  Copy the top line to post back in here after you see your photo has been accepted... & it shows up here.  Not a real good explaination, but I'm sure someone has it explained much better somewhere.

Coleus - after the light rain

JaneS

Oh my, SHIRLEY!  What an experience for your son!  And how scary to think that if it happened "over there" it could happe "over here"!

I think I'll wait for Cindy.  I'm sure she knows how to do this and she has the patience to teach an old lady.  She makes notes so I can follow them after she goes home.

Shirley, lucky timing for your son, and good he was not that close.   He did get some fine shots.

FlaJean

Shirley, sure glad it was on the other mountain.  Scary!  Took good pictures with his Phone.  Amazing how good the phone cameras are.

Sato, that is a such a pretty coleusâ€"made more vibrate by the rain on its leaves.

Wow Shirley, good you hear about it only after or you would have worried yourself sick!

Great Coleus Sato, my favorite in pots.

Any one here remembers the huge coleus Bunny had on a chair in the yard? Here is a Misted picture I kept of it

Shirley, your son's photos bring new meaning to being in the "right place at the right time!"

Sato, another great photo!

Bubble, while I don't specifically remember Bunny's coleus, I remember her posting photos of her porch and yard. I miss Bunny, she was always about family and helping folks do better.

JaneS

Beautiful coleus, SATO.  You certainly do take good pictures!

Today I saw the strangest flower on an overgrown bush in a neighbor's yard. I have seen the plant for years, but it is the first time I see it in bloom.

Bubble, it was worth the wait, very pretty.

A few days ago I posted some photos of the succot- cabins erected in town.  Today in my outing I saw two erected way up on the top floor of a building, and on the one below.
The owners will not need to descend to the ground floor with their pots, pans and plates to fulfill the blessing of eating in the succa.

Jack that flower is huge. If it was on the ground it would reach higher than the knee of an adult!
