Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Beautiful set, Bubble.  How much we lose by accepting things made of plastic these days.  Of course, we pay less, but the value isn't there.  Are yours made of ivory?

Sato, your coleus is so pretty; i like to see them.

Bubbles- the tiles are indeed pretty.  I have an old set of dominoes that my sister bought many many years ago when she was living in the Philippine Islands.  They look like ivory, but I’ve never done the “hot needle” test on them.  We don’t use them as we have a modern set of 12 that we play with.

Sato, that is a most unusual photo of a coleusâ€"-so artistic.

Mary Ann, unfortunately plastic from Hong Kong/

Mary Ann

Bubble, it still is a very attractive set!

Sato, here coleus is an outside annual but I try to have a mixed balcony planting each year! Your photo is terrific in its design!

Bubble, my sister has my parents old Mahjong and cribbage sets while I play it online. Thanks for your set photos!

Jean,  I know that you post on this message board, but not sure what others you participate in.

So, I figured I write you a message here.  I heard on the news tonight that the new hurricane is heading up your way and it sounds like it might be pretty intense.   On my map,  it looks like Niceville is pretty close to the water.   I sure hope you will be safe and not have any serious damage.

Will be thinking about you.  Take care !!!

AS I wrote before, Mah jongg is very popular here the rec. hall has a large group theat play a couple times a week.  I tried but everyone was too serious . My trouble is I like to gab when I play.  I never could play pinochle with my husband, he would remember every card.

Jean, I too am watching that storm headed your way  Of course my DIL is also there
A week ago or so when it was so hot her A/C stopped working

Mimi is incredibly photogenic. She should be a model! Or an actress....

jackwv

Bubble Mimi would have to have a low action part.  She sits as seen in the photo, no wonder kids are not afraid of her.  She walks up to adults, sits like a statue and wants petted.  Kids hug her and she never pulls away.   Her low energy matches mine.

angelface555

It's like all of us in our golden years; we all get a mite slower moving.  ;)

Jack, thanks for posting those lovely picture, Always look forward to those pictures of your best friend. She does know how to pose

Jack, without a doubt, your sweet furbaby is worth a million, you are so lucky to have found each other.  Beautiful shots of the early colors & totally agree with "your favorite".

Yep, Bubble, that can full of ivories I found had those markings & I had no idea what they meant.  I still don't know what I did with the rest of the coffee can full I had, probably gave them to my daughter (will check).  I'm positive mine were ivory & had the curve of cane back.  For sure it's nice to have a complete set, plastic or not, to actually use.

Sato, interesting how you've blended the colors in the background, very dramatic photo.  An interior decorator would have a field day with all of your photos, deciding which ones to make prints for walls.  Beautiful work.

My pool is full but not quite running over from the rain, and the rain gauge is near the top, so must go back flush the pool and dump the gauge to make room for more to come!  The wind is making the pool water "bounce", and what I can see of the river, it is way over it's banks.  I will get out after while & have a look, but need to get things out of the RV before it starts raining again.  I am enjoying the cooler weather, need to go dig out some "sweat pants" for around the house.  I am ready for winter!

Shirley, I played 'solitaire kyodai' with mine; after arranging in the special pattern, i have to take off free pairs of the same tile.  It's fun.
But now I can do that on the computer, so no need to create the pattern.

Shirley

Bubble, I play "plain old solitaire" on the Kindle all the time (can't just sit & watch TV).  I like the solitaire on my oldest computer but it is so slow now I hardly use it.  Right now I need to go get links to bookmark on this one, I downloaded some photos but can't resize on this one.  I asked my daughter if she remembered if I gave her those ivory Mah Jongg... she doesn't think she has them, maybe they are in a box in my basement, but I don't think so. I've got to clean out that basement..... someday. ::)

Jack, I tried everything I could think of with the Windows 10 photo stuff but can't get them resized or even crop to suit.  I am such a dunce & do not understand without being shown.  I don't know how you get your photos resized with frames, etc without Paint Shop Pro.  I have a version that would probably work on this one, but since I tried it on the other after son updated it to Windows 10 & couldn't figure how to use it, no sense putting it on this one.  I will give up & use the old computer to show you how high the river is... still flood stage around here.  My house is not in any danger but a lot of people are in a mess.

Sato, I wish you could explain how you get those effects with your photos... very pretty!

I did get the slide out on the RV today, so I could take clothes out of the drawers & closets in the bedroom.  Managed to get all done, swept the floor & pushed the button for the slide to come back in.  Before I put it out I took it to the gas station & fulled it up for the next trip to Missouri (family reunion). I hope to stay a little longer this time, the cats love it when we just eat and watch DVDs on the king size bed.  It is the drive that they don't like.... all in their heads.  ::)

Hope Larry & Jean are safe and their house.  I checked on my brother & wife... they have 2 kids with places in FL but they are not in danger, I was told.

jackwv

Shirley I heard from Jean this morning.  They were leaving their home to move north to be with family.  Hope their home survives.

The Windows 10 photo program will do a crop and straighten out a photo, but limited on the crop.  It does a good job with color and sharpening the photo, but I use another program to frame.   Here is a crop of the Mimi photo I posted yesterday, with a crop.

Jack, my biggest problem right now (with photos) is the camera takes such large files that online resizer we use won't accept them.... so I have to resize before I can upload them to that site & somehow, I just don't get the job done.  Was so simple to pull up PSP & do it all without even thinking.  boo hoo.... :tissue:

can you not set the camera to take smaller sized photo?

Jack, glad that you heard from Jean.  She did write something yesterday that they were in  Hattiesburg, MS.  It sure looks terrible from the pictures this morning.  My oldest son and DIL are on a trip to Italy with some friends from Hilton Head, SC.   And, this morning, one of the reporters were in Hilton Head and the storm was hitting there, also.  They had just gone through the last hurricane, but didn't have any problems with that one.   I have not heard anything from them since they went on this trip.

Bubble.........."can you not set the camera to take smaller sized photo?"... :idiot2: :uglystupid2: :crazy2: :2funny:... If I knew how to do that I probably would be smart enough to set up this new PSP!!!  Last night when I got on this computer (bought this past summer when we were at Walmart in Salida, CO...bargain)... had an update & now does not have sound.  I restarted & still no sound so will just look at that little red X by the icon for sound... until one of my smart kids comes to bail me out. HP computer & I don't find a little roller wheel under the lip like on my Toshiba laptops.  Don't know if I touched something or if the update did it.

Talked to a long ago high school friend last night, that lives in South Carolina & we laughed about our phone problems, she went back to a flip-phone.  Her 54 year old son died a couple months ago so she's had time to realize she can't stay in her home anymore & will move to AZ to be near her other son.  I called to tell her about the reunion and that I saw in the online hometown paper yesterday that another friend of ours son's obit, same age as ours...  I heard last year that our friend was in a care home with Alzheimer's, so not sure she will realize.  Had e-mail from another school age friend that lived next door, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer & just had her first chemo treatment.  Much sad news lately.

Do have one bit of good news, Callie Cat showed up at the front door for her "midnight snack", I really thought she was gone for good since she had not been here since a week ago today!  She is sitting by the "toe warmer" vent under the kitchen sink, warming her body.  I plugged in her bed warmer last night in the garage but for some reason she won't use it. Can't trust her in the house unless I am watching her every move.  Busy day so better get moving.  Shirley

We came back home last night.  Fortunately, we had no damage in the Niceville area as the hurricane went east of us.  We are so thankful.  My daughter said there was one scary moment, but that everything went quickly.

Sato another lovely photo.

Jack, loved your photo of Mimi.  I always use Photoshop Elements and they are always changing their program, but usually the basics that I use stay consistent.  As Shirley says, the camera photos have to be altered in size before those basics work. ☹️

jackwv

Jean, wonderful to hear from you.  Horrible mess for some areas, but pleased you and Larry are ok.

Joy

Just took a chance coming in here to see if there was any news from Jean.

Jean, I am so glad that you and Larry are back home and didn't have any damage,  I know you are happy that everything was ok at  your daughter's, also.

Terrible pictures on the news.

Thanks so much for letting us know that all is well.
