Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Bubble,  that sounds wonderful !   Nothing like a  glass of fresh squeezed lemon or orange juice.  Not sure of the beet juice, but have had pomegranate juice and did like that.

Real colorful picture.  Thanks for sharing.

Bubble, I'll have some orange juice.  What a great idea to have a place like that in a shopping area.  I hope they have a lot of customers.

Good morning!  Joy gave me Jack's e-mail address and I'm off to write to him this morning.  If he replies, I'll post here and let you know how he's doing.

Interesting photos, Bubble! In the summertime, there are so many exotic food trucks, farm stands, and food carts possibly due to the local farms and the large European and Asian population, but there is one festive trailer that each year is parked just across the river and down from me. Its owners are Jewish, stating all their products are kosher and have a wide variety of vegetable and fruit juices I need to remember to get a photo if it's out this year.

My Comcast Package went up 28 dollars also January. I have TV. Internet and Wi Fi Nothing worth watching on TV and WiFi at the moment not working right. Just paying to much. My Home phone line also now it $38.40 month and Can't even get long distance. Fact it cost now if I am calling in Town. Use to be if 8 miles out. Between it, the Comcast Bill and then my Mobile. Crazy what costing. I look for all to just keep getting higher as most people have gotten to use to using Technology. For me I need to be dropping some. Going to see if my Roof Antenna still working for TV once weather changes. I get more out of reading and Library Free. Also watch DVD mostly. Right now TV turned off. Can't believe the are having all the mess on with Politics. One yesterday was from 9am to 5pm and on 5 different stations. Same will be on today. Not interesting to me at all.

Sorry. I didn't know I had posted the above in this site. It belongs in the one we complain a little.
I am hoping that maybe Jack is feeling a little like me and just tired of this awful winter that still going on for us in the Midwest. He is just needing nice weather so that he and his dog can get out daily. He taking his beautiful photos.
I have never heard of Jack complaining about health so I am sure he is O.K.. Now me I am OK but my car has come to its life end  . Put enough money in it to spend more. So not had one for a month and need to be out checking on a new on once weather nice enough. Being stuck in the house is my big problem Surely Spring will buck us all up.
To me even S and F seems to be working better right now.Do not have problem staying in it.  I think a few people was not enjoying getting in.

Enjoy the weekend.  it was to late for me to take out the one in on mistake.

Jeanne, after Cas died I didn't wait long before I dumped the cable TV. I hated the sound of those political "talk" shows he watched all day & wasn't much on otherwise. With my little flat antennas that just use push pins on the wall above the TVs, I get all the old westerns, the 3 local stations & old sit-coms, etc... my phones with unlimited long distnce & internet costs me now under $60, before I dropped the TV it was going up to about $200. I am SO pleased, but think you really need to be within 50 miles of fairly large cities to get all the channels I get (counting the ones that sell, the ones that aren't clear & some I don't like, I am more than happy.  Last time I let it search for new channels it showed more than 50. On the cable TV I did NOT get the Hallmark channel or the ones with the decorating, etc. We paid extra for the "upper channels" to get some of the sports. None of the sports or political stuff interested me so I am now a happy viewer. I recently bought a 2nd DVD player so I could watch in bed.

Love the street scene, Bubble & not sure I could convince the place to put in enough sugar to please me. I needed a lemon the other day for a little to put in salmon patties... and squeezed the rest into a glass for lemonade. I added enough sugar to soak up the juice & then added water, sure tasted good to me. My mother kept a large pitcher of lemonade in the frig in the garage all summer for Dad. He just kept his glass in the refrigerator by the pitcher & would down the whole thing each day.  She always dropped the peels in the pitcher for extra flavor. She also made "fruit ice" for us. Squeezed oranges into a large pan, added enough sugar to soak up the OJ... and how ever many oranges she used, she added equal bananas, which she mashed with a fork & stirred up with the OJ. Then she added water to nearly the top of the pan & put in the freezer. She would take a fork & stir as it froze so the fruit didn't sink to the bottom.... kept mixing until it was solid. Depending on how much water was added the "softer" the fruit ice was. We loved it, my kids loved it growing up and my grands love it. So far only the oldest of the great grands have tasted it but which ever parent feeding them, that parent didn't get many bites 'cause the kids kept them busy feeding them. Good stuff!

Anyone remember the Orange Julius shops?  Not sure they are in business anymore, but I did love them. Just looked up the recipe & see it contained milk.... couldn't taste it... I didn't get them often, seemed they were expensive. I haven't been in a mall in ages, no idea what in there anymore.

Patricia, I have never actually tasted any of the "slushes" or drinks made with the veggies & fruits. Do enjoy a malt or shake though, & used to make them for Cas a lot. Just ice cream & either strawberry or chocolate syrup & milk... I had a "shake" mixer from long ago that still works & used to whip them up for a special treat.

Cats went out for a while, Tiger stayed in. Will give them their midnight snack soon so I can get ready for bed. So sleepy tonight. Looks like we are in for some nasty winter weather so better take care of outside chores tomorrow, like getting the snow blower out of the shed & putting the Yamaha Chappie in it's place. My garage is so full & needs a good cleaning out, but need to get the car out & the little camper, Callie's heated bed & litter box that she doesn't use anymore... stuff....take the hose to the floor & start over!  But that will wait until warmer weather!

Hi, Jack, if you are looking in!  :hello:

Perfection is the right word. Superb in shape, in color, in symmetry without even a hint of blemish. Nature is fantastic and the photographer is a pro!

Beautiful rose, Sato. Love how you manage to show the flowers with a dark background. How is your health and your talented wife?  I do miss Sachiko stopping by now and then, have you had any contact with her lately?

a WOW! I only saw the plant in a pot. I believed they were too delicate for the outside.

SCFSue

I have at least 35 azaleas in my yard.  It has been colder than usual this winter, but in the past few chilly days, one red one in the back yard bloomed and a white one in the front.  If we don't get another deep freeze in the next day or two, I'll probably have more budding out.  Auburn is a good place for Azaleas.

Sato, your azalea is both delicate, colorful and crisp!

Mary Ann

Sato, such a lovely picture of the azalea, I think I had not seen such a pretty pink before as the ones I saw in Florida were more on the reddish side.
