Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Bubble, I loved the pictures.  Your grandson is quite a young man now--and good lookin' despite the fright wig!

Such cute photos of Aviv and Illy! How do they like it "out in the suburbs?"

JeanneP

So cute but think it time for Aviv to get a hair cut. Our twins same age as he is. Missing front teeth also. Now what will you be dressing as?
JeanneP

Angel, they both love it. They particularly like having a yard and a paved patio where they keep chairs and a table. It is great for light meals while watching the birds.

Jeanne, I'll just put a funny wig, I'm too old for dressing up! Illy will put on a Santa suit that Don left here. I am sure people will stop her in town and ask where the presents are   :2funny:  :2funny:

angelface555

I'm glad Bubble! I don't have a yard which I would love, but I do have a couple of chairs and a small table on my balcony. I'm four stories up so often there is a light breeze in the summer.

I think Purim would be fun. I know there is a large congregation/temple here, I wonder what they do for Purim?

Shirley

Love the photos, Bubble.... (thank you, Amy, for noticing the resemblance...)  I had those big French front teeth so when the baby teeth fell out the new ones looked huge! Aviv's aren't showing yet. Illy looks so happy, sounds like a nice place for them, too bad you can't be nearer.

You always start me thinking.... Christians were Jewish before Christian & we share/copied many of the special days, maybe different names but same time frame, how come we don't celebrate the fun ones you show?  What a wonderful experience to walk the streets that hold so much history. Thanks for sharing it with us, most probably won't ever get a chance to visit.

I'm planning a trip to central Missouri to meet my daughter to spend a couple days looking around the area where my parents grew up. Hope to take photos to share. My son & his wife are spending that week in Branson, MO & if weather is nice, will drive to where we are & join us in the tour of the historical museum & see my gr-parents house, the whole little town is on the National Historical Register, a French fur trading post and on the Lewis & Clark trail. The little town is at the conflux of the Missouri & Osage Rivers. At one time I thought we were related to everyone in that whole county.

This should be an interesting trip and I hope you'll show us lots of photos. Do Missouri and Osage rivers look different?

In the 70's I taught at a small private school in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  We were there for Bob's last duty station.  Our 2 older sons were in high school and our youngest was in 5th grade.  He went to a public school near our home for Junior High.  We lived in Albuquerque 5 years and when Bob had finished his last Navy assignment at the Nuclear facility north of Las Vegas, we came back to Alabama, his home state, and bought a farm.  I don't have many photos of that time.  Bob was the family photographer and he was at the Nuclear facility every Monday through Friday.  This is typical of Navy life.  We families just learned to go with the flow!

I do not know how I got the photo attached, but here it is.  Candytuft.

Marilyne

Jean -  Delicate and pretty.  Is it about the size of sweet alyssum?

Mary Ann

Jean, the candy tuft is so pretty and as Marilyn said, also delicate.  I think I have seen it in pastel colors, but it's been a long time.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Candytuft is a perennial flower and sweet alyssum is an annual flower, but they both have such delicate and lovely blooms.  I planted 5 small ones last year and they are blooming like crazy.  They like the cool weather.  I can't do much yard work anymore because of my back, but I am so anxious to fill a few pots with some pretty flowers.  Thinking of Jack because I know how much he looks forward to spring.  We'll be missing his photos of flowers at Oglebay.

I have a question. The name of the flower below. Japanese anemone or Christmasrose?

Photos and Videos are my Hobbies. (S.Sato)

so_P_bubble

I think it is neither. The J. anemone has very thin and delicate leaves, opposite one another on the stem. The C. rose has pointed leaves.  It is hard to compare with the leaf on your picture but yours seems to have 'thick' petals, which would be different from both.

JeanneP

Jean. Now is that ground cover that spreads? I have one that really spreads all over my yard. Stays only about 3 weeks and sort of pretty purple colour. People hate it as hard to kill off.Creeping Charlie they call it here. It just shot up one year 15 years ago. Getting to be less of it now. Maybe this awful cold winter will have killed it all. I am beginning to wonder if all my bulbs will have rotted as bad as it has been.Soon will find out.
JeanneP

Joy

Jean, I am also going to miss all of Jack's pictures from the gardens at Ogleby.  I am hoping that he might,  after a while, miss putting pictures in here and will come back. I know he was very adamant about not posting here anymore.  But, maybe he will feel sorry for us  !!!  LOL  (Or maybe some of us could "beg")  another LOL

I have been wondering what he is doing with all his spare time, now.

BIG BOX

FlaJean

JeanneP, candytuft does not spread.  It stays as an individual clump.  My mother had several in her yard (many years ago) and I always like them so bought these at Lowe's last year.

Joy, I don't think Jack is going to change his mind, but we are sure going to miss him.

so_P_bubble

Maybe I'll receive some of his walks photos to post, when weather will be more clement?

Lovely, Sato.  Those long full stamens are begging for bees to come and collect!

As I scroll back and read all these posts I realise what a gap there is in my life. But it is a joy to see these pages kept alive for which I give you my thanks. I can only hope I can contribute once again as I used to.

Good to see you post, Don! Keep it up :)

Mary Ann

Don, it is good to see a post from you.

SCFSue

Hi Don.  I miss your posts and the music programs you had daily.  I know you must have made friends in your new residence and hope you are happy there.

Take care of yourself!

JeanneP

Don.  We all would enjoy seeing you back in the group again. Though maybe you would have signed up a couple of people who are now living close to you. You being able to get them installed.
Hope you winter has not been as bad as what we have had down here in most states. Terrible.
You take care. I know that all in Israel are missing you being with them.
