Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

This fellow enjoyed his photo taken. Stayed in one spot for a long time. Hope the size is correct.

Amy, your post, #7651 shows a size of  compression 322.92 KB, 1296x972 or 1296=Height and 972=width.

Your highest number should be no more than 900. Thus it would be resized to 900 widths and 675 height. 322kb compressed.  An any resize of heightxwidth, the highest number should be no more than either 800 or 900 your preference. It would look like this;

I'll bite - I'm not into wildlife although I can identify some animals.  So what is this?  A mule?  A donkey?  A burro?

Mary Ann

Amy

Patricia, I am totally confused. My first on is bigger when I posted the second one smaller..and yours looks bigger than the one I posted in 7651...
Thank you for helping me.

MaryAnn, this is a young bull moose..

Amy, thanks, I should have thought of that because I have seen enough pictures of moose to know what they look like - except this one is young.

Amy, its all perception.

Your photo in post 7651 had a height of 1297 pixels and a width of 972 pixels. Your most significant number of the two to fit into S&F photo guidelines should be 900 pixels and not 1297 pixels. Some prefer 800 instead of 900 pixels. When you change the largest number of pixels in the height-width to 900, you will see 900 as the most significant number and 675 as the smaller number. Thus instead of a height of 1297 (Your most significant number.), you have 900.

And it changes the second number automatically from your 972 or smallest number to 675, thus fitting into S&F guidelines. It also, since its a lower equation, changed the compression number from 322.92kb to the 322kb compression with the smaller size.

Basically, to post on Seniors and Friends, your largest number in height or width shouldn't be larger than 900.

Did that help?

Amy

Patricia, thank you, yes it did help..now just to do it!!

I'm experimenting.I've almost forgotten how to post pictures from my Gallery! Still working on it. Are the rest of you using the Gallery to post? Also wondering if you have to scroll horizontally to see the whole picture? I do.

so_P_bubble

Angel, thanks so much for helping with the resizing explanations.
I am sorry I am not much present this week, dealing with doctors appointments and tests. Just be patient with me! :)

Amy

Beverly, what a beautiful shot!!

Beverly, I'd love a view like that off my front porch.  And how beautiful it would be with the colored leaves.

Lake Michigan is still churning up the whitecaps.

Beverly, that is a beautiful photo and other than some differences, reminds me of here. The reason you had to scroll is that your most significant number was a width of 971. When resizing, your most significant number, either height or width, should be no more than 900 to fit into S&F guidelines.

I never use my gallery now. When I go to attachments and other options, add files, my photos are stored on a separate drive.

Bubble, no worries. When people have issues, I always want to help even sometimes unasked!   ::)

Patricia - Where did you find the guidelines for posting photos? I've always posted photos from The Gallery. The only thing I can find is "max image file size 4.77MB" and then I believe S&F uses a default setting. All the photos I've uploaded say  "picture approved". ???

I wish I could have been up there when the leaves turned. When we came home the colors were just beginning.

Beverly, your photo of the foliage in Vermont looks a lot like what we saw every day (before the snow started falling) when my late husband was a new Navy pilot and we were stationed in Brunswick, Maine.  However, the snow was always on the ground usually in late October and Bob was away with his squadron and at the time we had 2 young boys who weren't large enough to shovel.  When I was pregnant and needed to see my doctor, I had to park my car down at the curb, get up very early and go outside and shovel the at least 2 feet of snow the plow left down there during the night!  I'll bet you had lots of it, too!

Beverly, the majority of photos I post are PSP graphics. And that size through various PSP forums has steadily increased to either 800 or 900 with your personal preference.

Now I do not use the onsite Gallery for posting as it is also personal preference whether you use that or a folder on your computer. I prefer to keep stored photos on my own separate drive in case of accidents.

Guidelines are " The current total attachment size allowed per post is 1024 KB. "

The photo I used below is 0.2MB with 900 as its largest number, width X length. I only posted my earlier post because you mentioned scrolling.

Adorable picture of your kitty. (I need to scroll to see the whole picture). All My Gallery photos are in my private computer files and I upload them to The Gallery from there. I store my photos on an external hard drive. I resize them with PSP 10.

angelface555

Thanks! Farrah turned seven in September. I have several PSP versions but mainly use PSP2018U. I have mine on a private drive as well so I just link to that rather than the Gallery.

Lovely photo of Farrah, Patricia.

Farrah is beautifully marked. Looks like she has baseball mitts for paws!

Thanks Amy & MarsGal! At seven years, she's lost all of her orange coloring.

Farrah is actually a small sized cat. She had gotten to 15.5 lbs in January and the vet put her on a diet. No treats or people food and only a half cup of daily diet kitty kibble. As of last month she had only lost 2.5 lbs in 10 months. Since he said she needed to be 10 to 12 lbs by size, she has only one lb to go.

Today, November 5th, is National Redhead Day

Here's our little redhead, great-grandson Wesley

Marilyne

Oh Beverly - he is just adorable!  I love the name Wesley.  It was my maternal grandfather's middle name - Charles Wesley Gaby. He was also a redhead!  Other Wesley's in the family as well, and we also have a large number of redheads!  :)

Beverly

#7675
Thank you! Redheads are rare in our family. I've been told my maternal great-grandfather was a redhead. Wesley is becoming a popular name for boys again.

angelface555

Bev, what lovely green porch view! Here it's white and cool at plus 27!  And Wesley's adorable!

Beverly

Patricia - That's my brother's porch and the view I posted earlier is what you see from there. In nice weather I could sit there all day! I heard they expect snow today.

I noticed you said Farrah has lost her orange color. I read some facts about redheads. It says that red hair will turn white but not gray. Maybe it's similar for cats? I have a red haired first cousin and her hair is now snowy white.

FlaJean

Beverly, what a cutie!  Love your brother's porch with a nice view.  I bet the view will also be beautiful in the snow—-like a picture.

SCFSue

Beverly, that is one cute redhead!  Thanks for posting his picture!
