Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Don, what a nice picture of you and Rowan; he's a  little cutie!

Let's hear more from you during the year.  We miss you.

Hello Santa! You look jolly jolly good   :D
I loved the photos and Rowan seems to be quite at ease, sitting there.

Shirley

Great photos of our own Santa!  What a great sight, and that is a cute great grand! Does he look like you did at that age? Thanks for brightening the day. Merry Christmas!  :christmastree:

JaneS

Love the pics but most of al I love having Santa back with us.  We missed you, Santa!

SHIRLEY, loved your family, too.  I see a bit of a resemblance, too.

Don, hurray for Santa!  I know you enjoy wearing the outfit and talking to little ones.  They are certainly privileged to have their own Santa to visit!

Every year here in London Ontario the city's largest park is festooned with lights and decorations. This will give you some idea of its scope.  The area on the left is a public  skating rink.1.jpg

Great Christmas pictures !

AND.  just so great to see our own special "Santa Claus".  Santa looks especially good !

Don, you look wonderful. Looks like you have a great life there where you are living now. Looks like a nice place.  Please don't stay away too long again.  You are very much missed.

Don, the park all decorated is beautiful.  I'd sure like to have a view like that out of my window.  It is so good to hear from you and I hope you are getting along OK.  I'll echo what others have said - come back more often.

Oh, that brought out a loud burst of laughter, Jean! How large are you & Larry in that photo??? What darling decorations!

Don, that does look like a fairy tale Christmas.... not easy to get those lights to the top of those trees. Would have jumped at the chance to skate outdoors. Last time (many years ago) I tried in Kansas, the city had roped off & flooded a field to freeze for skaters.... but did not take into consideration this constant wind. I got wrapped up & took my skates to give it a try, just once around was enough.... ripples in the ice made it impossible to skate! When we tried skating on creeks in Missouri we had to watch for leaves & twigs that froze in the water because a screeching stop can send a skater quite a ways before landing on the touche' (with a bang on the head). I'll bet your ice is perfectly smooth....

Thanks to you both for posting, and thanks for the comments about my "kids".

Mary Ann

Jean, cute picture of you and Larry.  They don't look quite life-size, are they?

Mary Ann

Joy

Jean and Larry,  You are both "lookin'  great !!

Jean, I have two stuffed snow people that look similar to those in your pix just waiting somewhere in my stuffed critter collection. I haven't decorated in years. No one here but me and the cats, and not a whole lot of places to set them that the cats would not invade.

FlaJean

No, the figures aren't life size.   There are also some of children playing with toys.  They are in the display by the city hall, library, etc.  they really have a lovely display this year as usual.  I thought they were cute and couldn't resist.

Last week we had our Christmas party and of all the pictures we took this one captured my heart.

Looks like a fluttering of snow in London. going to call family up north today. Bet rain there. I remember we could get some good snows over Christmas time. Thing have changed all over now. Just have to think of the old days.

No snow here in Auburn, Alabama.  I'm happy about that after a number of years when my Navy pilot husband had to fly to a place with NO SNOW while I lived in Brunswick, Maine, with 3 little boys.  Only one was large enough to shovel the driveway!  And he couldn't get it all done by himself!  Hubby had two different tours in Brunswick and we became used to it, but it was tough.

I don't miss the snow and am happy to live here.  My husband died in 2002 and I moved here to be near my middle son who lives nearby.
Sue

Sue, while I wallowed in snow, my husband spent his time on the Saratoga in the Mediterranean. Such was life in the seventies. Leading up to yesterday's Christmas, we were minus thirty-three and have warmed up to minus eighteen.

Mary Ann

My thermometer reads 59 degrees.  I wrote elsewhere about my dad going golfing in 1932 when we had no snow.  He wasn't a golfer but someone asked him to go with and he did so he could tell about golfing on Christmas Day when there was no snow.

Mary Ann

angelface555

I have never seen, even when we were in the South, a Christmas without snow. Even San Antonio, TX. had snow in Christmas 1972.

Amy

Mary Ann, I have a photo of my husband out on the lawn mower 4 years ago on Christmas Day. He just wanted to say he was out mowing. :)

Our golf club had 280 playing golf today. Never since the late 40s they say. Was 63 deg here.
I went and gave my car a good cleaning wash. Looks so nice .was looking awful.

Just hope not a drastic cold spell coming to make up for it. Still more and more flu daily. Saw people in shorts an floppies. Crazy. Good way to get sick. Had to stop over by the mall. Place packed. Glad to get back home.

Good morning.  It's chilly here again this morning, but no snow in sight. We may have rain this afternoon.  I need to get dressed in my outdoor duds so that I can get my morning walk in before the weather changes.

I hope Every One looking in has had a nice Christmas Day/weekend with family.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
