Don and Bubble.  It is going up to 40 today and sunshine.  During my visit to the park today I will think of the two of you and that photo.

Jack & Jane, we have had since late January and through at least March sixteenth, bouts of heavy, humid snow interspersed with freezing rain. It has been as everywhere else, a strange, unusual winter!

Bubble and Don, Now you're just taunting us! :)

Perhaps we'll all move out there en masse!

I will be right with you all.  Looks just beautiful !  Although we have sunshine today, it is still cold and more bad weather is predicted for this week.

I heard Kathy Lee Gifford  talking the other day about her trips to Israel and she said it is one of the safest places to go.  That was so nice to hear.

Count me in!  Love to visit & love that photo of our favorite young couple~~ :smitten:

We've had some really warm weather lately... in the mid 70s the last couple days.  Bitter wind blowing today, everyone griping.  Looked out the kitchen window to see this robin just sitting & thinking, all "foofed out" trying to keep warm.  Had such a scowl on it's face I just had to share.  The robin we raised & had nests around our house for 8 years had the white feathers around her eyes, we always liked to think some of her babies are still around. I couldn't get the online resizer to work and too lazy to go downstairs to use PSP, so thanks to Jack for resizing for me.

Sorry, I would not get on a boat, and have not been in a plane for 40 years, call me chicken.   I will just have to follow the photos.

Shirley your robin friend looks well fed, believe it is just worried about the cat lady and her friends.

Shirley, such a good photo of the Robin—such detail!  We missed seeing the Robins since moving to Niceville.  They used to stop in our area of Ocala for a couple of days in the spring when they were on their way north.

We saw a Carolina Chickadee go into one of our Bluebird houses a couple of times this morning.  Hope it is setting up house for a family?

Thanks, Jean.... we have a yard full of robins & see many different "clans" of them come & go during migration.  Some are pale compared with these that are here all summer (& sometimes winter). This photo was taken through the kitchen window (double Andersen windows) plus the dark tinted, extra thick storm window.  I'm always surprised how clear photos are through 3 layers.  I had photos of a Carolina Chickadee last spring, sitting on a little tree near the corner of the garage.  I've seen them off & on but don't know much about them.  The man that used to live across the street had wren houses & fed all kinds of birds (and squirrels).  He kept big bags of food in their garage. Bet the critters are missing him this year.  He passed away & wife went into nursing home, they had a real wildlife sanctuary in their back yard, all wildflowers & plants the birds liked.  Like you, I love watching wildlife.

Jack, I would take that plane ride to Israel but don't think anyone will let me travel with cats.  I'll have to wait for a bridge.

Shirley, had to giggle at the look on the robin. Great photo of him/her! We have robins here but we also have a lot of snow too, no idea of what they are eating. Our Mountain Ash and Crab apple trees are bare of fruit so I put out some dried cranberries for them.

Amy,  when we had the mother robin building nests all around our house, I put out cooked scrambled hamburger & scrambled eggs and she would drop down out of the tree, fill her beak & go feed the kids.  She would play catch with Cas if he sat in the pool area & tossed small bites of bread in the air.  She raised 3 sets of babies each year for 7 or 8 years. I put out the colored Easter grass in a metal basket on the porch after I caught her pulling at it one day & discovered she was weaving it into her nests... had the most colorful nests in the neighborhood!  The first time she came back from migration the snow was on the ground & I felt sorry for her since they don't eat seeds.... caught her eating the food I put out for the baby ducks we raised from an abandoned nest.

Shirley, thank you, I shall try putting eggs and hamburg out for them. I hope we soon see green grass again here.
I have kept the hair from both the Golden and Border Collie to put out later when the birds start to build their nests. Fun to find the nests and see Golden hair in them :)

When we finished our visit to Haifa and Mount Caramel we journeyed on to Akk0. This is a city with a history that includes the deep involvement of the Romans, Knights Templar and the formidable Muslims. We did not spend as much time as we had hoped and curtailed our visit because navigating the cobblestone streets with a walker was bit of a challenge. That's why we only have a few photos of our time there.
Here's an example of the cobblestone streets:

The coastal areas were very heavily fortified

Such interesting photos, Don, makes me shiver thinking about the many years of history those cobblestone paths hold.  How I would love to see and touch those walls.  Beautiful colors in the photos, what camera do you use?   Many, many thanks for letting us look through your eyes and to you, Bubble for sharing your world.  You both are a blessing to all of us that will never get to visit. Shirley

I'm packed & right behind you, Patricia, wouldn't get any sleep with so much to see............!

Nice pictures,  Don.  I have to agree with you that some places are just so hard to navigate with a walker,  that it isn't worth trying to maneuver your way around.  Our little town has a farmer's market in the summer and it is held on the Fired Department' grounds, which is all grass.  There are so many humps and bumps and little holes that I don't even try to go anymore. Just wears me out trying to get over that kind of ground with my walker. I even bought a new one with the bigger wheels, and that doesn't work either.  So, sometimes, you just have to accept the fact that we can't always get to where we would like to go.  Cobblestones and bricks are very difficult to get over and cracked sidewalks, too.

But, I do think you and Bubble get around to a lot of nice places.

Joy

Dan and Bubble. Such a interesting time you are having. I bet those street stone are even walking on even without having to use a Walker.
My Elder brother was in Haifi for about 2 years then went back a couple of times. Use to tell me all about it.
Keep on having fun. Just get enough rest along the way.

We next spent some time in Tel Aviv in the German Colony. This part of the city dates back to the time of the Templars, but wasn't  actively populated until the 1700s, although the architecture is purportedly Germanic.
