Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Jean  Beautiful Yellow hibiscus !!!

When I lived in Florida,  which I did for
7 years,  I had many of the Red to Pink
hibiscus  around my yard.

They seemed to flourish down there!

That Yellow is gorgeous!

Thanks to all.  We bought two small bushes and they are both full of yellow blooms.  We had a bright red one and a yellow one in Ocala and I always enjoyed them.  My neighbor just planted a multicolored hibiscus.  I had never heard of that variety so that will be interesting to see when it starts blooming.

Shirley

Absolutely gorgeous, Jean... the flower and the photo.  One year I had about a dozen different colors of hollyhocks thanks to a friend that had the old fashioned kind seed.  They were beautiful growing all over a berm that runs half the length of the back yard.  I was sure all neighbors envied my blooms until I looked 2 yards away and saw the most brilliant red blooming plant that looked like a gigantic hollyhock... that turned out to be hibiscus.  Ever since I have debated whether to plant one or not, the wind here rips them apart.  My hollyhocks disappeared a little more every year and the friend is gone.  When my oldest brother was alive he said he had talked to plant stores & they explained the new hollyhocks don't come back like the ones years ago.  I thank you for sharing your hibiscus, Jean, I'm anxious to see how the multicolor turns out!

Last night on the eve of Independence Day Bubble and I ventured forth to the town square to join in on the celebrations.   We of course had to make our own preparations and hang our own flag.

The streets of Netanya are always decorated with floral displays as well as with the trees that adorn the streets throughout the year.

At this point in the evening both my camera and Bubble's ran out of battery power.

DON, the only thing better than the photos would be actually being there!

Don, you and Bubble have a knack and graciousness as well, through photo and word of not only showing us Israel in its day to day but also your time together. Thank you for letting us join you

Getting up into the 50's but cool nights.   Blossoms slow coming.  Here is my young Cleveland Pear tree today.

Close up of the blossoms, shame they are so small and do not last.

Yesterday on a beautiful sunlit afternoon Bubble and I joined with her cousin Colette who traveled down from Haifa with her family for lunch and fellowship. We were fortunate enough to capture this happy occasion in pictures.

Now that looks like great times Don and Bubble

Shirley

Thank you Don & Bubble for the wonderful, joyful photos!!!  So how many days, weeks left of the stay, Don?   I'm already sad at the thought of you two being separated again (when you are having so much fun)!
Hi, Colette (and family).... from Kansas.

Beautiful photos of the Cleveland pear, Jack... if you can imagine, mine were in full bloom like that when the hard freeze turned them into a brown, crispy mess one morning.  The leaves are starting to come out but I don't expect any of the little "pears" the squirrels enjoy eating to show up this year.  I really think the fruit crop will suffer more than the news is telling.  Thanks for the photos

We finally had a slow rain yesterday & last night... makes the yards & trees happy but got some cats that refused to go out for more than 24 hours.  Don't see any "run off" this morning & the river is not high so think every bit soaked in right where it landed.

Wonderful photos, food, and fellowship that looked so much fun!

Where is the time going? In less than month my time in Israel will end and my beloved Bubble and I will be separated once again. The red tape, the  bureaucracy, on both sides of the ocean, is mind boggling, but it wont, at least, diminish our dreams.  I have already received an invitation to a Bar Mitzva next April so I can start making my plans for that.

Mary Ann

Don, it is such a pleasure to read about your times in Israel and to see the pictures of a land most of us will never get to see.  Thank you for your posts and pictures - and may you have many more trips ahead of you.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Don, if there was some way to get MY time to visit Israel set and give it to you, I would do that.  Such a great experience to see the land through your eyes.  When I went to live in England I put my mind in the "always a new day" mode so I never lost that wonder of the land and people around me.  I believe you show us the sights we would find so different from our daily lives.  I really have only wished to visit 2 places in the world (other than roaming the US)... Alaska and Israel.  Alaska because of it's still untamed lands and Israel with the history of the religious world's beginning... at least MY opinion of how we all came to being the people we are. Sorry your time is so short.  Bubble, are you planning a return trip to Don's world?
