Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Thanks for all your comments - It warms my heart.

Shirley, unfortunately it is not feasibly anymore for me to travel. I even stopped driving out of town now :(  I tire too easily and unfortunately grow less independent than I could wish. Hopefully Don will be able to come back next year.

I welcome anyone who wish to visit, why don't you?

Sandy

Soapy,  I would
take you up on that offer in a
New York Minute.!
If I were still into traveling
but  unfortunately,  I don't stray
to far from home myself these
days...

But thank you for the offer!!!

Bubble I would love to visit with you,but you would have to make room for my pushmobile (rollator) The one thing we have is our memories to all the places we have been.  My 3 weeks tour of Europe will always be with me, and I can always join into conversations with other people when they are talking about their experiences I could always bring a New York Pizza,   :DSaturday my granddaughter took two back to Mass.

Lindancer, Don too has a folding walker.  There is room enough for one more!

Sandy, wouldn't that be fun though?

A S&F bash in Israel...  I remember how people enjoyed the one Eloise organized in Canada and I was so sorry I could not join and meet her.  My daughter did meet her and said she was a charming lady

Bubble...
...I still remember the photo Don showed of himself and Eloise when they met, she was wearing white and matching her hair, and had such a beautiful smile...But I sadly also remember Don saying she was ill at the time...

I may have mentioned at times the many talents my Israeli Sweetheart possesses, and so let me share with just a few more examples.
It all begins with our strolls along the seashore like a couple of beachcombers searching for rocks and pebbles.    Once home the artistic process begins.

[attachimg=2]

The last one is painted on a fossilised leaf and is copy from memory of the masks that were so common in the Belgian Congo, her childhood home.

Looks very delicate work...one would need a very steady hand...

What beautiful delicate work!  Don, your Israeli sweetheart is indeed very talented.

jackwv

Don with all of Bubble's talents, we saw her plucking your beard, has she ever trimmed it?

No talent here, all I can make is a cup of coffee.

Radioman34

Jack I too fall into the "no talent" category. I keep hoping some may rub off on me.

Joy

Very talented lady you have,  Don !   Beautiful work.  Anxious to see what she does with those very pretty stones.  Wish I could find some like that around here.

Thanks for sharing !

Thanks so much for these photos! I recall an earlier photo session involving her talented masks. Bubble is very artistic in not only this but in her displayed PSP graphics.

Neighbor called, several deer in the yard next door. Mimi did not even bark.

[attachimg=1]

Shirley

Love the painted rocks, Don & Bubble.... we also did that & made "people" with eyes ... kind of the "pet rock" craze.  I still walk with my eyes glued to the ground looking for unusual shapes.  None so fancy as your mask... that is very neat & am curious what kind of pen, brush or pencil you are using?  Sorry you aren't traveling anymore, we are all facing different limitations.  I fear my trip to the mountains in June will be my last if oxygen is as much problem as last year, my cardiologist said, "just DON'T GO!"..... I will watch for signs & be ready to head downhill if necessary, know my sons will be on alert, but I don't think I will have a severe problem...hey, I know I'm not 16!

Jack, hard to imagine how a deer can survive with all the cars around.  My cousin doesn't appreciate them eating the plants & flowers around their place but they don't live right in town!  You have a wonderful life where you are!  I need to make an order with Chewy tomorrow.... about once a month but not always the same order.  Do you get Mimi's food from them?  Nice shot of the deer, don't they have beautiful eyes?

Mary Ann

Jack, you have your own Oglebay next door!  I've seen deer here, but a long time ago.

Mary Ann

jackwv

Shirley I am a big fan of Chewy and buy everything for Mimi from them.  You may recall when I lost Jessie they sent me a bouquet of cut flowers.  Everyone I talk to there is friendly and their price is right.

Mary Ann I am fortunate to have deer even in the neighborhood, but not herds like Oglebay.   I love to see them, to me they are not pests, but of course I do not try to raise flowers.

JaneS

I'm a CHEWY customer, too.  I almost get same day service.  I'm always amazed at the speedy delivery.

Shirley

Chewy & I have a running battle with UPS because we tell them to leave the boxes by the garage door... Chewy marks in BOLD print to put it by the garage door but the delivery person insists going up the steps to the porch to the front door.  I have to open & unpack each box to haul down to the garage.... would save steps for them and for me and poor Chewy feels bad that "they" won't bother reading!  I had never noticed their advertising until you mentioned they sent flowers, Jack, and figured any company that thoughtful must be good.

I spend the $50 for free shipping every month but still buy the cats a rotisserie chicken from Sam's Club every week, plus a large can of Chicken of the Sea people salmon and can of tuna every week, & almost every week a can of the canned breast meat of chicken (people food) from Sam's Club.... a little milk now & then plus always have the dry Friskies Indoor Delights available.  They are so spoiled if the kind of canned Friskies isn't what they wanted that meal, they will walk off like they are insulted~~

Today I saw a pair of ducks walking up my sidewalk, looking for a place to nest.  Some years we see a lot of them walking all over the neighborhood... for a while we also had pairs of geese checking every bush to see if safe to nest.  Haven't see flocks of them like other years but a few down on the river.  The zoo & county park are maybe half a mile up stream from my house so normally we see a lot of different types of ducks, geese, herons & egrets. I used to get up early & go out to the river bank to watch the early flights out to the fields.

Vanilla-Jackie

Jack wv...
...yes I remember how well your pet-food company treated you when you lost your darling Jessie...a company worth its weight in gold...and well worth staying with...We dont have a Chewy in UK sad to say...

Your neighbours deer looks like it has made a home for itself...

so_P_bubble

In Congo we had antelope kashia, very graceful too, but no deer.
I miss the wild life here!  The one in the neighbor's yard seems very comfy there!

Shirley, I work mainly with acrylics and very thin brushes. Sometimes I add varnish on top if it is something to go outside.

angelface555

Lovely deer photo Jack!

In the S.E. portion of the state, we have a very small deer, a subspecies of the mule deer; Sitka Black-tailed deer. In this part of the country, we have reindeer, caribou, wood bison, musk oxen and moose which at 1,400 lbs and averaging 6.9' at the shoulder, the largest of the deer family.

A surprising fact is that caribou and reindeer are the same animals. The only difference is reindeer are domesticated.

Vanilla-Jackie

Jane S, wishing you all the very best on your Special day...

#5003
This past weekend Bubble and I traveled to a small enclave just a few miles from Jerusalem named Beit Zait. Actually it's a moshav, not unlike a kibbutz, where residents own their own dwelling but not the land on which it sits. The population is around 1600 and the bucolic splendour of the entire environment gave me the immediate impression that I had rediscovered he Garden Of Eden.

A beautiful start to my morning, thanks Don!

FlaJean

What unusual yellow flowers.  Nice you were able to visit a new area.

Jean, my plant identification book says it is a Peruvian Lily, from the Alstroemeria family
