Gloria yes I am lucky, and with this weather get up there daily.   Took the good camera and got a close up of the Lily of the Nile, and a photo of my loyal companion.

That is such a gorgeous plant & photo, Jack..... and even prettier sweetie.  So did you sniff that flower this time?   ;)

I'm up checking radar, blobs of red & yellow just to the west of us.  Tom is out & if he isn't at the door before the first thunder or lightning, he'll stay in his hidey hole until it's all over. Supposed to rain most of Sunday.  I am debating whether to go back to bed, afraid I won't wake up when I should.  I don't even have an alarm I can depend on, just tell my body what time & it wakes up...... except when I mess with the timer like tonight.

I've been searching for spell check or whatever it is that highlights or underlines when I make a typo or transpose a letter or not put in a space.  It works on the other Windows 10 but not this new laptop.  This keyboard doesn't have quite the same feel as my old ones & I have gotten used to being warned when I run words together or transpose .... I went into settings & made one change but it didn't do what I wanted.

Shirley sorry I forgot the assignment to take a sniff.  Lots of them along the path and did not notice any aroma.  Now with spell check it highlights when doing a post and it works with my emails.  I need it :)

I use Grammarly, Shirley. Like most programs, you get a basic free program and if you want an editor, premium. I think for basic spelling, the free plan does excellent and it covers emails, forums and everything on your computer.

Jack, Beautiful photo of the Lily and Miss Mimi.  We had a nice rain last night and today a few sprinkles now and then.  Yesterday began a week of early voting for the primary and we did our civic duty and voted.  It has been so hot this summer we have been staying inside where it is nice and comfortable.  Just haven’t been anywhere to take photos.

jackwv

Jean thanks but always welcome the bird feeder photos.   I have no feeders but did put in a bird bath.

Amy

Jack, beautiful photos !! Especially of your companion!!

Amy thanks, doubt I could capture a bad photo of Mimi.   On occasion she will stop the smile for a few seconds, I do not keep the photo, but within seconds she is smiling again.

Nothing new at the park, had the Panasonic Camera.  Quite an improvement over the iPhone.  Oglebay has its own water tank, and took a photo from a bench in the distance.   I then zoomed in from the same spot for the second photo.

Jack that is a lush green photo.  That must be some view for the workers on the top of that tank

Jack, every time I have not used these cameras for a while & then take a zoom like that, I am impressed all over.  That detail is unbelievable.  My eyes & brain automatically start thinking of all the different greens it takes to make that many different colors. I think I remember that you paint, too, Gloria de.... do you do that?   The brain just starts mixing colors ...  Great shots, Jack, thanks for taking time.

"I have been having a problem with the computer not picking up the photos from the phone and I must then Email them to get onto the computer. "  Remark from Jack.

JACK, what kind of problems have you been having?
When I connect my Iphone to my computer, the Win 10 photo app opens and supposedly searches the phone for new photos.
It used to work fine, but lately, it doesn't recognize new ones, or else lists a dozen as new which have already been downloaded by the photo App.
Googling indicates there are widespread problem with the Photo App.

...I remember the time I first spotted your water tank in the distance ( a previous photo) and raised the question of what was it, if you remember it showed as a tiny spot in the distance and I think it was Bubble who came up with the correct answer...I thought it was an air balloon...  :idiot2:

Gloria and Jackie It would probably be a great view of several golf courses and the lodge plus long walking trails.  Don't count on me to climb up there for a look. :)
Shirley I seldom use the zoom but wonderful results.

Don I may have my problem solved will be back with a bit of info.

Don this link may help for the photo transfer   https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201302

I ran into trouble downloading the iTune app and read to delete versions already on the computer.  Held my breath and did that, appears new drivers were included.  Now I do get all my photos when attached, just deselect then pick the ones I want transferred.  If not corrected you might move the question to the windows 10 discussion.

Having breakfast this morning and the waitress said "are you ready for the Ber months'  That is September, October, November and December.   I am not ready but today was 72 and sunshine.   Lots of fall colors coming to the park.  A few photos.  Did not notice a scent from the Lilly plant.

What a beautiful job they do planting..... and always appreciate the way you capture backgrounds to show off the colors up close.  Don't know how you find spots with no people, you'd think it would be crowded this time of year.  Do many tourists know about it?  I wouldn't have if you had not shown us.  I've never seen those round "clumps" of light green.. ( curb border in the last photo).  Thanks, Jack!

...they certainly work round the clock in keeping it looking fresh and pretty...

Never heard of that term before but, yes, I am looking forwards to the " Ber Months " in-fact I have been counting the days for the last three months...

What a joy that park is.  I would camp there if it was possible!

Beautiful garden, Jack.   I am still kind of hopeful,  that I might get there one of these days !!!

Oglebay is very popular with tourists.  Many locals also take advantage of the beauty.  I am 5 miles from park.   School back in so park will not be as busy during the day.   I seldom walk around the neighborhood, have the short ride to Oglebay and it offers the walk trails with benches that I need often when walking.

Mary Ann

Jack, all the comforts of home without having to do the work.  I envy you because I think there is nothing like that nearby here.

Mary Ann

jackwv

MaryAnn  I guess the key word is nearby.  You have so much beauty in Michigan.  I do within hours in WV Ohio and Pa, but so easy to pick up and drive to the park.

JeanneP

After the hot summer we have had this year. I am sort of looking forward to the cooler weather. Just hoping we have a decent winter. Just one good snow and that will be it.
The only thing is that we do miss all the colours of the summer gardens. Gets a little bleak here in Winter.
You Jack have a perfect park so close and it even kept up over the winter months.  I bet it does get lots of visitors all year long.
Today it is perfect. Has been for past 3 days but now tomorrow back in the 90s again and humid.
I still need to find someone to fix the damage that the heavy storm caused to my porch covering. Not really to bad . Just 2 of the metal strips came apart making it that the rain can come through. Many trees were damaged and some limbs from the tree next door still on my roof. So hard to find people for small jobs. Fact for any labour anymore....
JeanneP

jackwv

JeanneP the last few days have been great.  Low temp and very little rain.  Agree with you it is almost impossible to find people to do little jobs.

Jack, you're right about both "nearby" and "beauty in Michigan".  And I'm quick to point out those beauties.  Since I no longer drive, I'm dependent on others for my rides.  For instance, yesterday Tom and I went maybe 10 miles to a deli for lunch.  On the way home, he took a scenic road, which he often does.  He got that from Norm because he usually did that too.  And I get to enjoy the rides.

And the beauty of Michigan is why I have Grand Haven under my signature so others can enjoy Lake Michigan.  Incidentally, the wave action on the lake yesterday churned the water and the temperature went from 75 degrees to 41 degrees in a short time.  It won't get up to 75 degrees again this year.

Mary Ann, I tried to click on the Grand Haven web can, but couldn't get it to come up.  What do I need to do to check it out?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sue I use the link Mary Ann provides and enjoy looking in at Grand Haven.   If her link does not work for you try their web site and keep in favorites      http://surfgrandhaven.com/
