Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Thanks, Jack.  I probably won't get to check it out until Sunday as I'm expecting youngest son Jon and his oldest Alex this afternoon.  They will stay here tonight and also Saturday night and then Jon will take Alex back to Birmingham on Sunday for his Senior year at Birmingham Southern.

Jack, such a lovely park. The only big park we have here in riverhead, is Stockey Park, which is really a sports park, they roller skating rink, baseball, bochi, tennis etc. This park is for the children and seniors, with a picnic area. Also have dog shows there My idea of relaxing is going down to the inlet in Hampton Bays, watching the boats come in the bay from the Atlantic Ocean, also go out. I use to be able to walk on the stone pile or sand, but no more. this is only ab0ut 10 min. from me

Sue, I have nothing to add to what Jack wrote.  I usually use the link at the bottom of my posts.  It takes a few seconds to come up but it does come up.

Gloria, I love my  park, but would trade a bit of time sitting in the inlet and watching the boats come in.  (in warm weather)

Sato, I did not know it was a fall plant.  In Congo they grew all year round. This one full of pollen should attract bees!

Mary Ann

Sato, you're welcome.  I used to know "you're welcome" in German but my German/American grandmother has been gone many years.

Maybe "Bitte"?   My languages are getting rusty too!

Mary Ann

Bubble, isn't 'bitte' Please?  I went one semester to college and took German that semester.  I don't remember a thing!  My grandmother was born in Wisconsin but her parents were German (mother) and Danish (father), so she spoke German.  Dad could understand some, but not much.

Too late now, but when I was in high school the only foreign languages taught were French and Spanish.  We were a Dutch community but that was not offered.  Now I think many languages are taught but I'm not about to try to learn any.

Mary Ann

Bubble, you are right - you're welcome in German is 'bitte'.  However, please if you are using it after a phrase, such as 'do it, please' can also be 'bitte'.  There are several words for 'please' depending how you are using the word.

I would like to add my congratulations to Jean and Larry on your 62nd anniversary.   You both still look too young to be celebrating 62 years.

BIG BOX

FlaJean

Thank you.  Our big celebration was watching “Darkest Hour” (the new movie about Winston Churchill) and eating hot dogs and potato chips.  Very good movie, by the way.

Mary Ann

Sato, pretty hibiscus and I've never seen a petal formation like that.

Jean, you and Larry really know how to celebrate!

Love the photo of you & Larry, Jean.... and you really haven't changed...added a few years but still look young.  Happy Anniversary (okay, a little late)... got to call my friend & tell her you recommend the movie. Her husband was a Churchill fan so know she will be interested.

Gorgeous flower photos, Sato.Wish I had more flowers blooming right now, the monarch butterflies are coming through on their way south and I don't have anything they are interested in.  I need to take a camera down to the river because they are flitting on the flowering weeds down there.

JeanneP

Congrats. Jean and Larry. Great photo. You will not get that figure back eating Potato chips and hot dogs. I think mine was 98 lbs at that age. I look at the photo's and wonder what happened. I don't seem to eat as much now .

Jean and Larry a great photo.  Bet in the "old days" hot dogs and chips were a  favorite.

Congratulations Jean and Larry.  My dear husband and I would have celebrated 57 years, had he not passed just 19 days before that date.

I came into this board to see if Sato was still posting those beautiful pictures.  Had not seen his name come up anywhere else in ages.  I see that he's still posting them, and I will return more often and see what lovely images are in store for us!

Jean, glad you enjoyed "The Darkest Hour".  Fine film.
