Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

That is the memorial fountain in lower Manhattan where the World Trade attack (Twin Towers) happened in 2001. The name of everyone killed when those buildings collapsed is inscribed in that black marble  wall.  The  cathedral is Saint Patrick's in midtown

Just yesterday I watched a video of the Twin Towers going down that was posted to YouTube after being recently found during a closet clean-out.

RAMMEL

The picture just below the memorial fountain is part of Grand Central Terminal.
Great pic's.

There's also a China Town in New York City.
It's the WINDMILLS

And, both Little Italy and China town are crowded and fun.  Little Italy was one of the places I liked to go because I  love Italian food!

The two paintings seem to illustrate important event such as the arrival of the first immigrants  and maybe those reponding in such critical events like the twin towers?
My daughter is so laconic in her posting! /color]

Thank you - I went to google for the full information. It is quite a meaningful memorial.

phyllis

that is right.  Emmigrants- ny is a city filled  with people from all over the world. That is why it is such  a great  city.  The first responders because no matter if they are on duty or not, active or retired they came to downtown to help on 9/11 and many lost their lives and are still losing them because so many are dying of cancers stemming from that event.

Bubble, thank you for posting the wonderful photos from Illy!

Great pics of the kids, but Aviv has changed so much, even from his Bar Mitzvah.

Thank Illy for the great photos, and thank you, again, for sharing with us!

The Steamboat Natchez riverboat from New Orleans, Louisiana with the Cincinnati skyline in the background. The boat was in town this weekend for the America's River Roots festival, celebrating the country's river heritage, which also played an important part in Cincinnati's history. The Natchez is one of two boats that was in town that still uses steam engines to turn the paddle wheel as a means to propel the boat.

That's  a beautiful photo Michael!  I'm glad there are a few steamboats left that still use steam!
