Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Thanks for these wonderful pictures of Bubble, Don, and the family.  To see their happiness makes me happy, too.

Pat so great to have you back when you are up to it.   That was a great group of photos, all with smiling faces.  Enjoy your rest and happy dreams.

Pat, your point-and-shoot camera did just fine.  What we wanted were pictures of Don and Bubble and anyone else who wanted to get in the picture - and we got them.

Thanks again.

I'm sorry your illness is keeping you down and we're always glad to hear from you when you feel able.

I went through the  photo's in one of the other forums. They are great. Everyone looks so happy. Glad that pat got to see them all and take these Photos.
On going through them again. Did take notice that Don has the best looking legs for a man. I would exchange with him any day. Then I would wear shorts.

Bubble. Did GS get to go into the Radio Studio? I got in 10 min late so missed you. Don says you did say something.
You say GS has picked up a little English. If only he could be around Don longer  and pick it up. Would speak perfect. Really be able to charm the girls later. With his looks will do that anyway.

During my walk last night I took this photo of a hanging basket.   They have 16 around the fountain.  Wonder if they would miss one  ;) ;)

JACK WV....
.....now would you be able to carry it home?  ;D
Wow 16, wonder how much money these all cost, and the upkeep of looking after them all....or maybe they are on a hired basis......they are stunning of course...

Soon they will be removing those hanging baskets. Getting ready for next seasons show. Maybe you could just ask if you can have one as you admire their work every days. I often wonder what these parks do with the plants that they take down when still looking so nice. Hope not like the cemeteries that within 2 days remover from new graves and toss into a dumping area.

Taken to a hot house I would bet.  Really beautiful.  They have some really great gardeners there.  Would like to know how much they feed and with what.

jackwv

Yes they have full time employees that care for the grounds, and a hot house to grow and keep their plants.

Jackw. beautiful picture of the basket.  they are also to healthy looking.  Mine are beginng to look like the end of summer.

Bet they don't have the Weed problem I am having this summer. That darn Creeping Charlie. Nothing will kill it but the frost.

Met a gent this evening that works in the greenhouse.  He said they toss out the plants from the baskets and start new ones each year.

This has been a tough year for weeds, Creeping Charlie bring along the crab grass and other spreading weeds.  Sorry to say summer about over and love fall but not what follows.

Pat

Absolutely gorgeous hanging basket, Jack.   I love them.  Many of the city ones here go to the huge University of Guelph's greenhouses.

Beautiful hanging baskets, Jack! Here they have streetlights that look as if they were victorian gas lights along the sidewalks in wrought iron with very similar smaller baskets. The roadside street lights rest upon round concrete stands and the poles themselves look brown or coppery. About twelve feet up, there is a wrought iron looking horizontal bar that holds two larger flower hanging baskets.

The city Public Works Department maintains both street light types and the Fairbanks Garden Club, College Women's Garden Club, and the Pioneer Women's Garden Club donate time effort, seedlings and plants to the effort. They also maintain flower boxes along all city bridges and flower gardens in all the parks and parks along the river walks.

Google "Creeping Charlie (or ground ivy). Lots of hits on getting rid of it. My neighbor is loaded with it and Oxalis (and a couple of other unidentified weeds). I use "chemicals" when necessary. Weed-Be-Gone works fairly well.

Jack, gorgeous hanging basket! And flowers are beautiful!

A drought continues at Fukuyama and it doesn't rain at all for 1 month. Therefore the eggplants my husband is bringing up don't become big.
Green peppers and tomatoes are small as expected.

The eggplants harvested in June were so big.

Pumpkin could be harvested so much.

angelface555

Sachiko, these look so good, even if smaller. This summer is our third wettest summer on record with rain continuously since April. Minor flooding is everywhere!

Sachiko3

angelface, thank you very much for your comment.
A typhoon is approaching Japan now, and it is raining after a long time.

jackwv

Pat thanks and look for the day you are able to get in here with your fine photos.

Patricia, we only have a few poles in town that are decorated.  Love the old time lamp posts.

Sachiko the three photos are like works of art, shame they will be used, but bet they are as good as they look.

When I lived in Del Rio, Texas the local garden club did lots of civic work and one of their projects was spraying trees for a very nominal fee for pest.  Every year I got them to do mine.  When I first bought the house the trees were full of insects including some kind of worm that hung from a long thread of silk.  They weren't web worms but some other kind of varmit.

Sachiko3 beautiful veggies.  Your husband does a great job of growing things.  And you do a wonderful job of displaying them.  I am sure you also do a wonderful job of cooking and serving them.

Jack, you didn't ask the gardener what they fed the plants......
