Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Bubble, 40 years back or even 5 to 10 years back, we are all our younger selves and others can trace the similarities

Jackie, nice photos! What is a ploughman's lunch? Is it like a full breakfast or truckers special as it is sometimes called here?.

Vanilla-Jackie

ANGELFACE.....
....the British " Ploughmans Lunch..." would consist of a cold pub meal of cheese, pickle and bread....additional's such as ham, pickled onions maybe added...

I love,  love,  love,  all these
pictures of our Younger Selves...

My how times have changed.
And that is OK ...  We have all  moved
on,  as it should be...

Keep them coming!
I am tempted to open the suitcase
that has all my old photos ....

Soon,   maybe,  soon!

What a good looking bunch you all were - and still are.

Vanilla, that was fun, was it not? No beer to pull where I helped, but mixing cocktails.  It was also a great vintage point to observe the other students.

BUBBLE....
...at least we got to see how the other half lived, even if we couldnt go and join them...Sometimes better behind the bar - counter than it is in front, and a whole lot cheaper too.... ;)    :drink:    :bubbly:

This is great! I love all these photos.

Jack - Good looking guy! My husband was also in Fort Bliss in 1952 or 1953. (I'll have to check.) That was before I met him. I was a freshman in high school in '52.

Sachiko - Such a pretty young girl in a pretty dress...The belt on your dress looks like one I had.

Sandy - Oh, to be 34 again!  :) Is Erin your youngest?

Bubble - Great pictures.....The one from 1962......So pretty with a bubbly personality.

Jackie - Pretty pictures of you and your grandson was a cutie!

Mary Ann - Thank you! Now where is your picture? And yours too, Angelface?

JeanneP

All the photo's so great. Going to have to see if I can find one on my Computer. My Scanner broken at the moment. Don't have any on my IPad.  Most of them. You have not changed much. Would have known you. On lots of people one meets after 40  50 years have changed so much. Can't recognize them.

Jackie, your ploughman's lunch sounds like a cheese sandwich to me.  :)

angelface555

I found this one of our family during the summer of 1964. I had just come from Seattle's children hospital and was really not feeling well yet. We had just arrived at my maternal grandparent's  farm, outside of Montrose, Colorado.

My older sister, Jody, my mother, Helen Marie, my father, Ed with my little sister Becky, and me. My parents had driven down to Seattle from Alaska. While I was hospitalized having eye surgery, they went to a circus and my sisters were able to ride an elephant. So, it is safe to say that at 13, I was not a happy camper, I was devastated.

PS:  Jeanne Lee, So glad to have you back with us and out of the hospital.  Best wishes!

Angelface - Nice looking family. You still look very much like that photo of you at 13!

Jean - Great picture of you!  I'd like one of those tomatoes on the windowsill!  :)

Rammel - A cutie all ready to march in a parade!

Sachiko3

Everybody, thank you very much for splendid photos with nostalgia! I imagined each situation and enjoyed them.

This is a headshot for a modelling engagement I  had in 2001. If you click on it the picture will enlarge

Beverly

Great photo, Don. Before your Santa Claus days?  :)

Marilyne

FlaJean - what a cute photo!  I still spend an unbelievable amount of time at the kitchen sink!  How can just two people, use so many dishes, pots and pans and silverware, in one day! :o

Rick - How old is that adorable little guy?  What is that on your head?  Looks like one of those old sand-sifters?

Don - A handsome picture indeed!  Did you get the modeling job?

angelface555

Jean, I have the same kitchen photo, sans tomatoes! I've enjoyed everyone's photo, we could make this a regular feature!

Probably 3 - 4 yrs old, and I believe you're right about the sand sifter.

As probably with most of us I have the customary box full of old photos.  But who has the time to look at that old stuff  ::)
It's the WINDMILLS

Rammel - Me! I've been trying to make time to go through pictures (and I have zillions!). I have all the old ones my parents had plus some older ones from grandparents and great-grandparents. I won't even mention all the ones I've taken since my grandkids were born.  ::)

so_P_bubble

I love looking at all your old memories and see how little time has affected your features, even Rammel! :D

FlaJean, I had the same curly head you had, but I liked to cut it much shorter.

Vanilla-Jackie

FLAJEAN....
...at least you look happy doing " your usual occupation..." but as they say..." a woman's work is never done...." ;)

RAMMEL...
...you havnt changed one bit....you are still the same looking child, but,...." with a beard..."

ANGELFACE....
...lovely photo of you and your family, even though your memories are bitter - sweet....

DON....
...think I would have recognised you anywhere, you dont seem to change at all...

Hm happy Jackie with my mother ( not my birth mother ) but not so much, happy Jackie with my gran....

Me proudly standing with my playmate Nigel outside my house...not sure what age I was, 7 8 or 9, but I do know I wouldn't part with that dress I was wearing, I had long outgrown it but told I loved it so much, I never wanted to wear anything else, so didn't want my parents to part with it....it sure looks similar to the dress in my other photos, doesn't it? but surely not, It cant be, can it?....Well these are the only photos I have of when I was younger....and yes I was an original blue eyed blonde bombshell..took after my late father.....till I started messing with the colour of my hair in my early 20s...

Arrhh, where did these innocent child days go?...

" There is no present like the time "

angelface555

Jackie loved the way you mirrored the expressions of your mother and Gran! I used to have all these snapshots with the curly white frames, but we lost so much in a flood.

Wouldn't it be great if the site held an event such as throwback Thursday?

Even though I realize they had a young child to amuse, I didn't understand how much that circus elephant bothered me until when I was twenty, a circus came to San Antonio Tx. I was one of the first in line to ride one of their elephants!
