Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

You made me curious, "Who invented the camera? Johann Zahn designed the first camera in 1685. But the first photograph was clicked by Joseph Nicephore Niepce in the year 1814. It was thousands of years back that an Iraqi scientist Ibn- al- Haytham made a mention of this kind of a device in his book, Book of Optics in 1021."

Now about women and the computer...."First computing device. Charles Babbage, an English mechanical engineer, and polymath originated the concept of a programmable computer. Considered the "father of the computer", he conceptualized and invented the first mechanical computer in the early 19th century.

The poet, Lord Byron's only legitimate daughter, Ada Lovelace: The First Computer Programmer ... to calculate Bernoulli numbers, which is now considered the first computer program. ... Lady Byron, who studied literature, science, philosophy, and, most unusual for a woman, (was a brilliant mathematician, when higher education was denied many women of her time.); was the first computer programmer.

   :hb2::hb3:Happy Birthday, Jackie!     :hb3: :hb2:

Hope it is a wonderful day with unexpected joy...Enjoy it!

Shirley....thank you, what a pleasant surprise.... :)

...who would have thought of all those years as a card making team leader, ( giving out, ) would be so worthwhile in its repayments...whoever said " what goes around, comes around..."sure got it right..

Ah, Don & Bubble, what a happy scene, and I do remember the markets, vendors that came from somewhere else to little Marlow & High Wycombe to open their stalls on a Thursday.  I still have a coat I made for myself from Harris tweed, made a matching outfit for my little girl from the same fabric but passed it to her years ago to save.  I also had a tea set bought at the market & gave that to my daughter.  Later I saw a big dinner set of the same pattern, at an antique shop.  Good memories.   Don & Bubble are still living those days and so generously sharing them with us.  Thank you both, be happy!  Thank you for the photos & memories they stir up.

(You are welcome, Jackie!)

We went to a posh shopping mall and when my lady love expressed her desire for a lollipop I moved the earth to fulfill her wish----with glowing results.

Bubble, you are so easy to please.... ;D

Joy

First of all,........ Happy Birthday, Jackie.  I hope you are having a nice day.

And, Bubble,   what a "sweet" picture of you receiving your lollypop.    Doesn't take a whole lot to make you "glow".  The smile on your face is just beautiful.   I am sure you enjoyed it.

Sandy

Happy Birthday Jackie!!

Markets are fun,  but I have come to avoid them at all cost,  because I do not like the crowds...  Actually the crowds in the grocery stores bug me too,  but
I have learned to ignore them,  as much as possible.

Oh! I'm really enjoying being invited along for the saga of Bubble and Don! Thank you!

halkel

Yep Angel, I have to agree with you.  I know two people who are going to be awful lonesome.  Suspect Don will be on the road again in short order.

;)

A portrait of me with my sinuses rioting, purple nose and swollen face. They're talking rhinoplasty, and I'm wondering if I can fit under the bed.

I try to make Farrah work for her food, to have a sense of adventure. So I put her 3/4th cup of kibble into her big blue cylinder. It's up to her to winnow it out through the gaps. This is where she runs to when she hears me moving in the morning. That expression of hers show her good-natured patience, doesn't it? :)

Her three-part morning routine is to wait for me to get up and moving. To feed her and knuckle her head a bit after her meal. The final part is for her to go back to my bed while I have my coffee. She doesn't like being "disturbed" during her rest by the paparazzi.

ANGELFACE...
...I too now make it all part of the play when finding and retrieving treats of the edible variety, yes putting our fur friends to work makes it all the more fun for them, as long as they do get their reward in the end...

angelface555

Jackie, they do enjoy it. Farrah's morning grouch aside, she enjoys figuring out how to get the most kibble out at one time. She contorts into some interesting positions!   My favorite is when she lies on her side, flicks out a claw and wings it to her open mouth.

I'm not as familiar with dogs as you are, but everything my vet and the web tells me is cats are still hunters and need to work for their food. To just stick it out there not only can lead to food issues and obesity but other behavioral issues. It is also the reason they prefer running water to a standing pool in their water dish. It all goes back to instinct.

I think that if she went to all that trouble and there was no food....well....if you didn't hear from me for awhile, just know it was probably quick!  ;D

so_P_bubble

Great photos, Angel.  I hope you get a solution soon for your sinuses.  For sure it is no fun.

I think Farrah found the perfect home for her.

Vanilla-Jackie

Angelface...well there is certainly plenty of meat on me, so dont think our Toby will ever go without...like you, just hope it would quick... ;D

Hal you have awakened me to the reality of what I must confront a month  from now. So until then I'll soak up as much as I can and hope I can store away as much as possible.

Vanilla-Jackie

Don...
...all good things come to an end but, it doesn't always have to be like that... ;)

so_P_bubble

Parting will make the return sweeter?

halkel

Bubble and Don, at least there is skype/facetime technology to be able to talk face to face and for as long as you like without breaking the bank.  Sadly you cant reach out and touch each other.

And yes Bubble seeing each other again will be a joy, no doubt about that.

so_P_bubble

I will have my Teddy Bear...

Radioman34

And just in case you've forgotten Teddy Bear. . . .

angelface555

Bubble you are a ham and Don is an enabler!  :smitten:

This is going to be an interesting journey for you two!

JeanneP

I always love a Teddy Bear. Did not like dolls.  Bubble That is a cute one.  Does it sleep with you?
If Don has a month you wll still get a lot done.  Do you think you will ever travel to Canada again?  Don really likes Israel so he won't be away long.
Now can he only make one Visit a year now?   I notice that the US is using that rule now for a person to stay for 3 months at a time.

You reminded me I had this little bear that got into the honey pot.  It was a favorite of Shirley's.  Have set it aside to have my daughter take home with her on her next trip.   She also has a collection of bee images etc.

halkel

Jack, what a neat honey bear.  Stuffed bears are in our families history too.  My wife's family has one that sits on a ledge in their living room that has been there for at least 60+ years and we have a similar one on our entertainment center that has been there for years.  Ours was a gift to me from my youngest daughter many years ago.

I am sure yours will be cherished by your daughter for years to come.
