Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Hot one today, stopped the yard work.  It has been a while since a request in here so how about
Show me something old but not antique (not people :D)

Here is a Radio record player we purchased April 1970, still works but in a corner gathering dust (I missed a bit)

Old for me: my parent's store in Congo-  It does not exist any more. That is me in the front, as a teenager.

Bubble - what interesting photos!  What happened to your parent's store?  Is the building still standing, or don't you know?

so_P_bubble

No idea... It did suffer some damage during the independence war when they sold it,  but that is years ago.

FlaJean

Not an antique but getting close!

jackwv

Bubble an interesting piece of history.

Jean a beautiful lamp.

Posting for June

This is a camphor chest which I won in a raffle by the Red Cross in 1938.  Think this would have been my first entry into gambling. Except for the War years. Has always been by my side.
Still has inside the smell of camphor.

Bubble, I like that little chest.  Recall my mother would use camphor oil back in the 1930's.  Do not recall using it later, know it is still available, but no idea of the smell.

Jack. that was June's photo, I just posted for her.

June, that is a Chinese chest! It reminded me of my mum's old Chinese furniture. Pity, I could not find photos of her 2 camphor chests.

Old Chinese furniture, and a close-up of the doors.

My recall of camphor would be a thing called "Camphor Ice".  It was used on us kids for chapped lips in the winter. It came in a tube like Chap Stick only much bigger - probably about 3/4: x 3 to 4" in a metal tube with a metal cap.
It's the WINDMILLS

I remember camphor oil rubbed on chest for a bad cold.  That was in the war's year, way way back!
I think there is still some in Vicks - I don't have any here to check.

Next request:

Show me a prayer book.

Radioman34

I'm "borrowing" this from Bubble's collection.  A book of prayers for every day of the year.  Note that is is Hebrew/ French translation.

The squares represent the 12 tribes of Israel

jackwv

Old bible of my Father in law.  Understand a gift when he was born 1906. Keep it under display under glass, too fragile to handle.

Guess we are all praying from the last posts.  We can use the prayers.

Quiet in here, how about a request, even from someone that does not post.  Show me a photo of --------

so_P_bubble
