Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Jack, I noticed that Mimi has more white in her coat.  I love the way you framed them.

Thank you for the pet pictures.  I'm sitting here smiling.  They make me happy.

Jazz and Scruffy you are cute as can be. And Mimi, you are beautiful.   :smitten:

Bubble, I have a cat, but she won't come in the house.  She was a "barn cat" when we got her, and has lived her years in the garage and in the attic of the garage.  I named her Shadow, because she seems to be always just out of reach.  When my Rocko died recently, she came in the house twice....walked around looking, and won't come in again.  She's a sweetie, but hard to get close to her.  The only time she lets me touch her is when I feed her.  Very independent, that Shadow girl.

Nita, keep the camera or iPhone handy, would like to see Shadow.

Jean I play with frames/mats, but hang very few photos on my walls.

Here are a tree and a pet.

Just thinking, Jack..... how I would love to have one of Mimi's babies.  That is a gorgeous shot of her, bet her original owner would love to see it & maybe even use it in their brochure if they still have one of her pups for breeding.   Every one of your girls have had such different personalities, for sure, all winners (even Zoe with her cone dog run).

Jean, Scruffy & Tazz look like they are ready to sing, what a pair!  Cute as can be.

Bubble, Tiggy looks very content sleeping, so innocent.  I see he/she is wearing a collar in that one photo.  I've never put one on these for fear they will get tangled in the trees.  Years ago, before this house, a neighbor's cat was high in our tree, after a bird nest.  I yelled & threw something at it... scared it so bad in it's rush to get down the collar caught & it managed to slip out of it & that collar stayed there until we moved (to haunt me).  I was so afraid it would strangle that cat I was ready to climb the tree to rescue.  I will dig out the SD card that holds photos of my kids & their mother as babies.... and today, 7+ years later.

Loving the pet pics!

Shirley, Mimi had 17 pups, but that was 3 or 4 years ago, and all found homes.  Several have posted and the breeder routinely gets photos of her.  Today I spent almost half an hour with a couple that lost their 8 year old golden just two weeks ago.  They said she looked just like Mimi.  I gave them loads of time, know how they felt.  Mimi would have stayed for an hour, she never tires of getting attention.

Shirley

Jack, I don't know how many babies most dogs have when kept by breeders, but that isn't a lot so maybe not a lot of years?  She is such a sweet dog and know she has a wonderful life with you, not everyone understands Goldens like you do.  Bet that couple is still talking about you & Mimi tonight.  :smitten:

Here is Shadow a few years back.  AND....she actually came in the house last night.  Peeked through the doggie door and then stepped on in.  She was very cautious, but came to where I was sitting.  I dropped my arm and she rubbed herself on me for quite awhile. :) :)   Then when I got up...she headed out to her garage "apartment".   Though she and Rocko were friendly, and would greet nose to nose, maybe she felt inside was his domain.

and here are my boys...Ty and Rocko.  I took a snapshot of them and liked it so much, I played with it to enhance.  Now I'm glad I did.  I really like this, as it shows their personalities.

[attachimg=1]

Ty, in the back, was always the quiet leader...a huge heart and always put his humans first.  His gift was healing.  He just knew when someone needed him, and he'd go sit by them if he thought it was ok..then gently lay his head on them, and just be there.  Ty was an old soul...a big dog in his little body.  When he got sick, he tried to comfort me.  Making the decision to release him was one of the hardest things I've ever done.  If you only have one dog who is soul connected to you, he was mine.  I lost him in 2015 to hemolytic anemia.

Rocko....my little "never grow up" kid.   His personality was the opposite of his brother.   For Rocko...it was all about Rocko.   He wasn't brave like Ty, but tried to pretend he was.   He never liked riding in the car.   He loved going to the fence and barking at the neighbor's big dog...then running back in the house.  Though they were the same age, he was always my baby.  He was who he was.   :smitten: I had to let him go September 13 of this year....two days before his 13th birthday.  He had congestive heart failure.

Nita, a lovely photo of Ty and Rocko,  I understand how you must  feel about them, you miss them so much since they brought such joy to your life.

Beautiful photo of Shadow, good to hear she will now want to be petted.

FlaJean

Nita, that was such a sweet picture of the little dogs.  Nice photo of Shadow with the toy.

Shirley

Oh, Nita, what great descriptions of your furbabies.  Shadow will win you over, maybe already has sensed you need her and willing to take care of you like your pups did.  In my world I am convinced all animals & even birds that connect with humans, understand the humans that really care for them.

I so agree, Shirley.  Animals are amazing in their understanding.  They instinctively know, as you said. And they are good at reading who is safe and who isn't.

Shadow wouldn't come in today, but rubbed up against me when I fed her tonight.  I think she wanted me to visit her in her digs.  So I did.

The first one with the reflection of purple is beautiful!

jackwv

Bubble thanks.  For the record I do not live on the computer, but it is always on.   This morning I have mowed the lawn, done two loads of clothes, and washed the dishes (not enough to ever use the dish washer)   I did a crop and a little adjustment to show that reflection you mentioned, and the ducks.

You live in such a pretty area, Jack.  Do you have many parks near you?

Joy

Jack,  I never tire of looking at the picture of the bridge at JM college.  In fact,  I have it as my desktop right now.

When my niece was going there to school,  I had told her mother to look it up when they went down to visit.  And, I finally remembered to ask her about it, and she said that they did find the place and agreed with it being so beautiful.   My niece has since graduated, so  those trips down to see her are no more.

Just love seeing all the pictures that are posted here all the time.

Nita, we have quite a few parks in my area, but I seldom visit them, stay close to the best of them all  Oglebay, just minutes from my home..

Joy it has been 2 years since I have been to that spot in Harrisonburg Va.   Have just not had the urge for a 5 to 6 hour drive, and my daughter prefers to come up to visit.

Quite a few interesting bridges posted.

Love all the bridges.... and Jack, at first glance I didn't think you posted that one & I was rocking in my seat thinking, "that is Jack's bridge!"   Reading on & back, I see it was.   :-[  They are all so different, so I got on the old Vista computer & want to show you one taken by my brother right after WWII.  He was so happy to be out of the German prisoner of war camp, Mother was feeding him like he hadn't had anything to eat (and he had little for 9 months).  He was spending his days taking me & all other kids he could gather up, just to share his joy of freedom.
