Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Jack and Mary, your comments sure make me more optimistic. I struggle to read the paper even with a magnification glass and I have to go into the drivers license office in January for an eye exam, which doctor told me no way could I pass right now, he didn't know after surgery.  I will have both eyes done by the time I have to go in.  My wife has had both eyes done and when she went in for her 85tg birthday exam they took her restrictions off her drivers license for glasses, she no longer has to have them on to drive.

SCFSue

I had cataract surgery on both eyes--a week apart as my opthalmalogist had a family trip planned soon after.  He was taking his wife and daughters to Europe.  Since then I only wear dime store readers if I'm reading fine print after dark--it's a fantastic thing to have your sight restored after years of blurry vision!

Hal, they took the restrictions off of my license also after having just one eye done. Because I have a lazy eye like Jack does, unfortunately I need glasses to read comfortably.  The doctor told me there was a 50% chance of me needing reading glasses.  I went to the Dollar Store and bought readers for practically every room in the house plus my purse.  My sister has vision in both eyes, so when she had hers done, they put a distance lens in one eye and a closeup lens in the other.  She doesn't need glasses at all.

Hal they made it exciting, but lost.   Now Ohio State and Penn State.

Hal 15 seconds in and Penn State scored

We seem to have exhausted our views of clouds.
What about showing some food or beverage? I am sure there must be some good cooking or baking to tempt us :)

jackwv

Bubble a good suggestion.  Now if I can find something other than frozen or canned food. :)

so_P_bubble

You have a frozen photo?   ;D

SCFSue

I think Jack must use some of my cooking secrets!  I like Healthy Choice frozen meals--and eat about 3 or 4 them a week for lunch along with fresh fruit and/or a salad.  In the evenings, I often make scrambled eggs or some other dish with eggs, like tuna salad made from scratch.  Other times I boil rice and lightly fry fresh peppers and onions to put on the rice.  I make lighter meals in the evening than at noon.

And on Fridays, my son Tim and I eat lunch out and then he takes me to Kroger for my weekly grocery shopping.  He's the only one of my 3 sons who lives in Alabama.  So he's pretty much stuck with me!  He's been a big help since my fall last year.  I'm still not cleared to drive.

If you are concerned  about your kosher diet while in Israel you can be acomommodated at Macdonalds. The partition on the counter separates the kosher and non-kosher sections

Don that is a great idea for McDonalds.   I have not been there for 4 months.   I am on Low Carb diet, lost 25 pounds but eating a few carbs now and just maintaining my weight. (still too heavy but decided to work on it)  After the Holidays I may go on strict diet.

Sue and Bubble, I now have a NuWave hot air fryer and love it.   Cook my steak, chicken, bacon and toss in some mushrooms.   It will do much more but with my diet I am limited.  Will work on a photo.

halkel

Don, I like the Hebrew National hot dogs.  I figure they have better meat than the other winners.

Jack, my daughter used to make the best onions and mushrooms to put on a steak.  I ask her they day when she was up if she still did and she said she hadnt made them in years since she went Vegan.  I may disown her...

Mary Ann

Hal, your daughter should be able to eat the onions and mushrooms even if she would not put them on a steak!  She could make them as a favor to YOU!

One of our adventures in food was when we visited an Arab restaurant and ordered one dessert and two forks.  There ensued a bit of a power struggle when it came time to determine who would retain custody of that delightful pastry.

Don and Bubble, looks delicious.  Who won?

Bubble was probably worried about Don's beard and offered to eat it all.

so_P_bubble

ha ha , it would have been fun to see the beard dip and that especially that those tiny  plastic spoons are so impractical...

This is on the menu as Saint Peter's Fish, taken from the Sea Of Galillee.  We know it as tilapia.

Bubble and Don, some great looking food.  I would only be able to show boxed or canned, so whipped this up for all.

I wouldn't eat that; I'd preserve it!  That is lovely.

so_P_bubble

Jack, I am licking my lips already! That is just too tempting!

so_P_bubble

I have nothing that somptuous, but we, I am good at baking challenging borekas.
