Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Two great ones Bubble.  It's great when you can just go into your old photo albums to post a favorite.  Hope we see more.

Joy

Great pictures of some very interesting sculptures and gate ways.

Jack I have a big flash drive with all my photos, starting from 1999 when I got my first digital camera. They are  filed by trimester of each year.
The difficulty is finding the right file for a picture I remember!

Bubble,  two great pictures.  The first one of the Roman gate looks like a painting.

Bubble those are two wonderful photos.   My collection also started with the digital camera.  I have very few old ones.  I have put mine in folders and sub folders by location, family, home etc and of course one just for Oglebay with many sub folders.  I like this subject since it often gets me to go back and look for a photo to post.

Entrance to Bethany College West Virginia

Marilyne

Jack - Bethany College, looks to have a unique architectural style?  If you're allowed to walk around and take pictures inside the gates, I'd like to see more photos?

jackwv

Marilyne.  Bethany is a small college located about 20 miles north of me.  I have just driven by it several times over the years and was taken with the entrance.  Wrong time of the year for outdoors now.  It is off the main roads but may visit in the spring when things in bloom and if I can walk Mimi.  You can see a load of photos on Google Image.

jackwv

Cool but a bit of sun, so will take our walk soon.   Speaking of gates how could I forget this one I walk through several times each month at Oglebay.  This photo was taken in the early fall.

Those are some lovely photos!  Don’t know why but that Rome gate is especially appealing.

Joy

Jean, I agree with the picture of the Rome gate.  It looks like a painting to me.  The colors are really beautiful.  I doubt that it looks like that in person.  I think the fact that it was taken inside of the archway is what makes the colors so different.  And that cross is directly in the exact middle.

Bubble, I am assuming you took the picture of the Roman Gate???   You did a perfect job.  Very unusual.

Jack, beautiful brick work on that gate, and I liked the unusual domes on top.  It could be the gate of a fortified castle, just missing the moat around. :)

My daughter took that picture in Rome at Christmas a few years ago. I think she liked the 3D view there.  The colors are exactly how it looked. It was misty but bright that day.

jackwv

Bubble I am sure you told your daughter what a fantastic job she did with that photo.

I like this discussion since it brings out some photos we have not viewed for some time.

Joy

Bubble,  please tell your daughter that her picture is just beautiful.  She did a great job !!!!

Thank you, thank you!
And very appropriate for this time of the year: It would make a great wishing card!

What about Holidays photos?  Let's see how it is in your corner of the world...

jackwv

Cold and snowing, so yes I am at the computer.  May go to the park later.   May have posted this. This is in front of the Oglebay Mansion, so I had Mimi join the choir.

Shirley

Loving all the photos, wonderful time of year to show off all those angles & lines.... and I am full of regrets that my photos are in NO order at all, on the mini CDs from the first digital to many thumb drives, SD cards & have no clue how to organize them.   :tissue:  I have a photo of the entrance of the MO State Fairgrounds main gate & flowers around it taken a few years ago just before "fair" time.  I ran across it not long ago & admired those flowers but no idea where to pluck it out of my mess.

I drove to MO this week, just overnight (500-600 miles round trip).... and while my camera sat on the passenger seat it didn't come out of it's case the whole trip.  The big rear view mirrors on this RV block me from getting any decent shots when driving.... & being able to do that was always my favorite thing to do, as a passenger & a driver.  One spot going to MO I would love to show you but no place to stop & get out to take a photo.... for as far as one can see east & west I often reach just as a train is passing under the highway.... and in this area the landscape is so flat you can "see forever"  but I never cease to be amazed at how long those trains can be.  I've counted 6 engines linked together pulling with more on the end pushing.  When admiring the vastness of Kansas my brain goes to singing "Don't Fence Me In".........As Sophia would say on Golden Girls.........."picture it".

jackwv

Shirley I have always lived in areas with hills or mountains.  When traveling I always marveled at miles of level ground.  You mention the photos and for years I have downsized even the photos, keeping my favorites.  I also managed to make folders to help me find what I wanted.  Even with windows 10 I do not use their app but have my own files, have to keep it simple.

Here is a collage of 12 separate exhibits for the days of Christmas.  They have been at Oglebay for years and many times we would drive by with children and sing along.

Tough to see the details in the collage, so here is a photo of the Twelfth Day.

SCFSue

Thanks for the pictures, Jack.  I sang some of the songs, but didn't remember all 12!  Getting to be 80 and after a fall from my roof last year, my memory is not what it once was.

Sue

jackwv

Sue, I would not be able to sing about the 12 anymore.   At 87 my memory is also slipping and never was that good.  Just hang onto the good memories.

SCFSue

I'm trying, I'm trying, Jack!  The long time memories are as clear as a bell--the day to day memories are the tough ones.

Sue
