Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Thanks, Rick, I gave up & came down to the old Vista with PSP 9 that Glenn Curtis encouraged me to buy. With help from some of the PSP ladies & taking those PSP Steps, I learned a few tricks & can't seem to catch on to the later versions of anything. I remember you & others use IrfanView but it really takes some one to "show me" (not an excuse, I really am from Missouri).... I managed to resize 3 photos... beautiful little goldfinch out my kitchen window... this is through a double pane Andersen window with a dark tinted storm window over so I'm always surprised how much color comes through. More storms moving in .. with hail... so better post & get off here.

Shirley,
First - Nice pic's. Good that you could resize them.

I started the PSP course but had to stop to have a rotator cuff surgery. I wasn't doing very well with it and never re-started.

A FWIW - the IrfanView (free) is much easier (doesn't do quite as much) and does all I need.  It installs easy and un-installs easy.  Ask your son to check it out the next time he's available
It's the WINDMILLS

Beauty of clouds! You did well Shirley.
You know, you can always e-mail me photos for posting or even just for resizing for you...

Amy

Jack, love the photo  of Mimi, she looks a lot like mine. Mine is 13 and will be 14 Dec 2nd. Her name is Amy, I borrowed her name when I came on the internet, just like I borrowed my Border Collies name for my email. As you know Goldens are so laid back , you could put her in a room full of people/kids and she would love every moment. Loves swimming, well maybe not so much now that her health is failing and no matter how many times you go in the van she is more than ready to go with you.

Shirley, guess they wanted fast growing trees, but was surprised at their short lives.  Wonderful cloud photos, keep that camera busy.

Rick I am just using the windows 10 photo app and like the results.

Amy give your Amy a pat and wish her a few more good years.

FlaJean

Shirley, nice photos.  Like the border around the Blackeyed Susans.  Those clouds look fierce.  We have had some of the strangest cloud formations lately.

Shirley, dramatic photos! You should move them or ask Bubble move them to Photos Old and New so everyone can see them and enjoy.

Sigh..not the hand again..sigh.

Amy

One can almost see a swat coming from the cat!! Is she thinking, just come a little closer???

Jack , I will and thank you. I tried to post a photo but I do think it needs to be resized so I will try again.

Thanks to all for comments about our clouds & "almost" bird.  It kept darting off & on different flowers & could not get the camera to focus so fast through the 3 layers of glass window.  Today the heat index is 108 so not sure I'll be getting out again.  Filled the dumpster this morning with limbs we cut out of the berm last week & looks like one more week to finish the job.  I came in soaking wet (women don't "sweat" but that was not "glow" all over my body, it was sweat!"  We do have heat warning & I do hate hot so will decide later if I even visit the fish tonight.

I think it was over in the Soda Shoppe that Jenny commented about forgetting to get moth balls at Walmart... was NOT Walmart where I found them, but the Dollar Tree. They sure stopped the skunks, raccoons & other critters from hanging out in the berm.

Patricia, I forgot where I was posting the photos.... had sincerely meant to come up with a hand & got side tracked by going from computer to computer to get the job done.  I get over in videos & upset at the times I can't get videos to work for me, and that is a problem with my server, not the computers. I only visit these 3 Photos & the Soda Shoppe, looks like I could keep them straight ..but not when frustrated. Is that your right hand?  I don't think I could even hold & snap a photo with my left. Pretty hand, I have my grandmother's huge stand up veins in my hands, not pretty, but they serve me well.

Amy, love the pic of Mud Puppy... as Jack can tell you, I enjoy the ornery ones (like Zoe) and understand their zest for life.  Your Amy looks as sweet as Jack's girls, they are such happy dogs (dare I call them a dog?)

I just have to mention that my weather thingy is not accurate, TV weather man just said "heat index 108" & actual temps to be at 102+ the next 2 days so heat index much higher.

Amy great photos and babe is also cute.  Shirley,  I was at my neighborhood bar and was leaving.  My son said do not go to the park tonight, hot and humid.  Try to tell that to Mimi, I went up the hill around 7. It was 84 and a cool breeze, so had a nice walk, photos posted in Photo discussion.

Mary Ann

I'd love to hug and pet Amy's three dogs, one as much as the others.  I've always been a dog person even though a cat lives here and I do a good job of petting and rubbing him.

When I look at the number of posts for me, I'm astounded.  I know I talk a lot, but I didn't think it was that bad!  There are a few here who have posted more, but not many.  I'm a blabbermouth!

great dogs Amy.  I envy you!  I wish I could still have one but could not take care of i t :(

Amy

Thank you Bubble and Mary Ann, they are a lot of work but worth every second of it.  Mary Ann, we just have the two dogs and one cockatiel that is 24 years old. Peepers has leg problems and will fall off her perch and needs to be picked up and put back on,  she is eating and seems fine. Amy on the other hand is not doing that well but day by day we get by and I know that one way trip will come.

Back to the hands and feet.    Was doing some yard work.  Moving two heavy stones and clipped the tip of my finger.  Took my gloves off and this is what I saw.  I read to apply ice which I did.  Then there was support for draining the blood blister or letting it go to avoid infection.  When I read it might take several weeks to dry up I sided with those suggesting to drain it.  No pain, have a Band-Aid on it, but hot out so no more work outside today.

             [attachimg=1]

Shirley

OUCH!!  I do know how those pinches can hurt & also how easily they can get infected, especially during hot weather.  Hope you have some of the anti-bacteria stuff (I keep on hand from Walmart)..... These chores seem to catch us more than they used to or maybe we notice it more?  Take care & keep close watch so it doesn't get infected, Jack.

I cut limbs from the holly bush (supposed to be a bush but as tall as the peak of the house).  I cut it back every fall but didn't get the job done last year... had cut back pretty severe when I had the house painted & not sure that was last spring or the year before. We have an ancient super long pole (Craftsman) that extends all that way up, put chopper over a limb & pull the cord... but is heavier than it used to be  ::) ;)....  I got the job done & came in soaking wet again, boy, this yard work is killing me!

Amy, I dread watching our fur-babies grow old much too fast.  The mama calico cat is looking very old & ratty with her summer bites & missing hair.  She gets so upset when I try to put the stuff on the back of her neck and know that is why she wants to stay in the garage as hot as it is, because the flies & other bugs can't bite her in there.  My fear is that someone else may have put it on & it would be dangerous to double dose as much as she has shrunk up this past year.  She almost looks as old as old LaurenKat did before I lost her, I knew she was 18 & no clue how old Callie is.  We know her last babies are at least 7 now, I have the photos with dates when she brought them to us, but the lady across the street said she had been feeding her for a couple years before the babies.  We don't know if she was born feral or someone dumped her, but she had decided I am her BF for now & follows me anywhere I walk, to the river or down the street to a neighbor's house.  I am a push over & know it.

Patricia, I keep looking at your hand & kitty, wondering if she is small or if that's an optical illusion.  Tom & Tiger are so much larger than their mother is now & WAY larger than old LaurenKat was.  She's been on my mind today, it was 5 years ago today that she came into the bedroom for her morning routine with Cas & came running out of the room so fast I know he was gone.  She really did have a shocked look on her face, she knew and never looked for him again.

I didn't have my camera with me tonight but the catfish are back & practically jumping out of the water to catch the bread.  Wish you could see how big they are and how tame they are as long as I talk to them, right near my feet. Don't see a lot of egrets & herons like other years, not even a lot flying over.  Not even any Canada geese or ducks hanging out down there this year.

Amy

Jack, OUCH!!! Blood blisters are no fun , I usually get them when I am piling wood. Finger is in the right place at the wrong time.

Shirley, I too am a push over but I love my animals ,they are part of the family .They are not spoiled, just well loved.

Shirley

NOT SPOILED??? Are you sure, Amy?   ;) ;D ::)

angelface555

Shirley, it was definitely an optical illusion as Farrah, five years now and six this September is fourteen pounds and no spring kittie! Here are two showing her paws, the first in silhouette and the second watching birds off the balcony. I whited out my tangled cords.  I'd like to see after this, posts of your local most unusual trees.

[attachimg=1]

angelface555

Paws are hands, right?

[attachimg=1]

Farrah is a beauty.  Now your request for unusual trees.  This is an evergreen bent over from the constant wind.  I call it a question mark.

angelface555

Good one to start us off Jack!

Amy

Shirley, I am about as sure as one would feed salmon and tuna to kitties :) If we can't spoil out furkids then we shouldn't have them. Right now one has gone for a nap and the other one despite the new hair cut is laying in front of the fan .

I wish I knew how to get photos from my tablet to here but I can't figure that one out yet. Same as mailing a video from the tablet it just won't do it???

Amy, if you are able to attach it to an email to Bubble with the subject, posting photos for a subject line, she can post for you or help you on how to attach photos. Either way, she can help.

Amy

Patricia, I have done that in the past and Bubble has graciously posted them for me. I can get the ones on my pc posted but not having any luck with my tablet. I have some videos on my tablet that I can't email to me . Maybe the file is too big??
