Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Here is what I have presently;

From left to right; red pepper jelly, roasted garlic onion jam, sweet and spicy Alaskan Umami sauce,(comes in mild, hot or burn out!); and finally Saracha Aioli which is a spicy garlic pepper cheese sauce.

Bubble, Those potatoes look so good.  I wish I could reach in and eat some right now. ;). I guess by parboiling them you only roast them in the oven 15 or so minutes?

so_P_bubble

Jean, I go according to the color, not to the clock!

Jack, that dish looks so appetizing, but no hot stuff for me.

Angel, I would keep away from that shelf,  ;D it would give me heartburn.

Shirley, unbelievable price.  I have never bought lemon by the piece... nor any other vegetable.
Only lately have I started buying watermelon halved.

Vanilla-Jackie

I am the same, no hot or spicy foods for me, well not with my Hiatus Hernia...but I was never into spicy foods anyway...Same as with hot curries, I can tolerate the mild's only...

Jack wv...yours still looks good though... ;)

Bubble, Jackie, I use the ones shown as a meat rub or as an ingredient in a vegetable dish or soup. In my view spice is nice!

Shirley

Bubble, I am trying to be patient as I wait for lunch, am making a pig of myself with your lemon potatoes and they go with the pinto beans with ham shanks that I cooked yesterday as well.  Add salad & I want you to know I ate 2 and 1/2 potatoes with the beans & ham, and small plate of lettuce & tomato salad.  I did take a photo after eating the first potato... the little box of new potatoes totaled 8 slightly larger than golf ball size, not quite as big as a baseball.  I will add more lemon, olive oil & paprika next time... I love them!

Patricia, I have been trying more spices when my sons & I go camping.... they are big meat eaters and enjoy grilling over a wood fire. I had a "taster" in Sam's club that was demonstrating Weber's Chicago steak... on hamburger. Delicious so I bought a jar & have since had some big "steak burgers" that I just fried in one of the new "orange" skillets with lid.  I really think it tastes as good as steak.  I guess I am getting tired of "fast food", but it really isn't much fun to cook for one.

Got up at 4:00 am with thunder & lightning so opened the door & let the cats know I was awake.  Tiger came racing in but Tom hears storms long before I do so he was already hunkered down where ever he hides during storms.  He showed up about 5:30 and Miss Callie waited too late to come so had to feed her when I got back from church.  She doesn't want to hang around the pool with the others since our trip to CO... insists on going back out the front door instead.  They do know what they want & manage to get their choices known!

Bubble, I don't often buy a single lemon but wasn't sure I could use the whole bags full.  My mother used to keep a big stainless steel pitcher of lemonade in the extra 'frig in the garage for my father ... all summer.. he let her know when it was getting low.  She always squeezed fresh lemons & then put the halves in the pitcher for extra flavor.  I don't know if she put sugar in his, I didn't care for lemonade as a kid. I did squeeze the other half & used all the pulp for a refreshing glass of lemonade for myself... mine has lots of sugar in it.   ;)  Thank you for the recipe!

I was going to nap while waiting to eat lunch but have been sitting here thinking long enough to go back to the kitchen & heat up my leftovers... I know I will sleep better with a full tummy.

I am glad you liked the potatoes.  I use fresh lemon juice in all my salads. Vitamins!

Where is your potato photo?

angelface555

Olive oil, vinegar, and spices are always a tasty salad dressing. Sometimes I will add a squirt of lime or lemon juice depending on the salad or if it includes fruit or fruit and cheese.

Bubble that is an interesting plant, hope it does not bite.

so_P_bubble

I have seen it completely digest a big fly. That is what I was checking.

Amy

Bubble what is the name of that plant please?? Is it a pitcher plant???

Jack, I have the same mouse pad as you!!!

Amy, know we both love the Goldens.

This was taken several years ago.  Sunset at Oglebay, and a hand reaching out.

Amy, I told Farrah that someone thought she was very regal. First, she had a huge yawn and then she went and sat by the treat closet because well, cat.

Aristolochia  is the name of that plant. Sorry I was mistaken: the plant does not digest the fly, only imprison it for a while.

Amazing photo Jack. I am taking my golden to get trimmed right down this Sat. This will be her first time and I hope she will be able to stand for it. The lady comes highly recommended and understands that this is an older girl......the dog, not me  ;D

Pat,I love going over to look after the neighbours animals when needed. We send the dog outside for a bit and then I sit on the top step and Callie a beautiful calico cat starts her motor and purrs while snuggling up against me..she also tells me where the treat drawer is.

Bubble ,thank you for that information, enjoyed reading all about it.

Amy if you have posted info in the past, I did not write down.  How old is your pup, name and if possible a photo.

Mimi is 9 1/2  have had her year and a half.   I have her groomed since she will not sit still for me.  My last trip to the groomer she was sitting waiting and for the first time I saw her trembling.  I almost took her home, but the young lady came out and settled her down.  She said she does the same when they hit a snag.  She gets up shakes it off and back down.  When I picked her up she was fine.   Here is a photo I took the other day.

Another story.   When I was pres. of our association back in the 60's We had a wading pool at our playground and I had the architect from Oglebay come in and we planted 6 trees.  For some reason they only lasted around 55 years and had limbs breaking and falling.  Sorry to say 4 were cut to the ground and the photo is of Mimi sitting on the trunk.

Shirley

Were those maple trees, Jack?  My father had the soft & hard maples and we had silver maples where we built..... that sounds like the life span for maples (as my father's lived).  What a neat photo of the tree stumps you saw planted and your Mimi.

I took the camera down to the river tonight, took photos of clouds that popped up all of a sudden (thunder & all).  A storm was building east of the city but radar looks like it quit backing up.  I tried my little 12" laptop with XP & the working version of PSP... ONLY, it did not want to open the 32GB SD card from the camera!  My son in law added extra memory but the SD card is still way bigger than what the computer has.  Opened the new laptop & it doesn't have anything but Windows 10 and I couldn't get it to work.  Had to allow PAINT to  open the SD card & the file so big I had to scroll back & forth to see that first picture... could not get it to resize to a working file so gave up & came to this computer.... but will end up going downstairs & using old Vista that has the Paint Shop Pro that I work with. So frustrating, but this Windows 10 & the new laptop Windows 10 don't act at all alike.  :uglystupid2: :crazy2: :idiot2:  Doubt if you'll get to see those clouds tonight!

Shirley -
Paint, in Win-10, looks like it can shrink images.  Rummage around the tool bars at the top.

I added my favorite image program, IrfanView, to my Win-10 puter. It's a very easy program to use.
It's the WINDMILLS
