Larry: Tsk Tsk Tsy - Pat's room isn't messy - it is artistry in progress.

Lloyd:  Good wishes for a generous amount of money on all of your copper, etc collection.

Very sad news from Florida on another school shooting.  Each and every time I think back to Columbine in Colorado - Jenny know this as well.  It is heart-breaking.

Shirley:  I am going to try to make an epson salt mixture and put it on his shoulder tonight before he goes to bed - it would be wonderful to have something help his pain.  Even the prescribed medicine does not work.

Larry:  To add to your yesterday notes - my mother always fixed a plate for any hobo who came to the yard - I remember many men coming one at a time, sitting outside the kitchen quietly and they knew they would get a meal.  Today, we would be frightened by the sight ---and, she had me take the food out to them.  That would be child neglect.

Reading all of your notes is just so super neat.  Sometimes, it seems impossible to "know" so many caring people we really don't totally "know".  Know what I mean?  ;)

  Happy Birthday to Gloria de

Gloria:  A county authority and/also state authority should be notified.  How about a local newspaper?  Is there anyone outside the building who can pass along the comlaint?

Joy:  We have really nice vegetables and fruit in Tucson all winter and spring season - then, drive home to Colorado and wait for the crops to appear in the stores.

Jenny:  Our children went through winter camp outs in Minnesota weather - I was really worried about frost bite.  Yes, the front range is being ruined by the population explosion.  I would vote against the Olympics if they would ask.

June:  A1 sounds super nice.

We did not take an entire 60 lbs. of veggies but chose green beans, miniature tomatoes, new potatoes, figs, and zucchini.  I gave a bunch to young friends last night - after the meal I fixed.  It is a Swiss meal - of toasting their soft cheese under a broiler on the table and scraping the melted cheese on veggies - also made meatballs.  Always a nice meal and everyone seems to like it - used a raclette appliance.  Very hard to find the raclette cheese but Amazon shipped 2 lbs so there is a lot left over - enough for another one or two meals.

Greetings and good health to everyone.  I am in a mini rush this morning after being wide-awake at 2 AM. for a couple of hours.  We can buy 60 lbs. of fresh veggies for $10 at our church parking lot today.  It may be a mob coming from all over the city of Tucson so this will be interesting.

The pack of javelinas have not been stopping by to wreck our yard but you never know.  They are protected - even after biting a local resident.  Fish and Wildlife (we pay their wages) won't even take the phone calls.

Read your notes - concerns for all - keep on keeping on.

I need to check in here often.

Thanks for another scam alert.  I had something on my cell phone that was really odd and deleted that right away.  They use familiar wording so it is easy to make a mistake and click something that looks familiar.  Wishing them jail time & crummy food while they sit in jail.

Gloria:  Your postings are fun to read - I don't know how you find all the writings but it is nice to have the entertainment.  Thanks

Jane:  Not everyone is good at driving in snow and ice and most feel too confident.  They are the ones you don't want to be near on these treacherous roads.  Stay safe and warm today.

Look at that sweet face - thanks, Sandy.  You are blessed.

Don:  Hugs to your Emily.

I did take notes but they are too short for me to remember what you wrote ---

Jenny:  I am remembering you mentioned high price tickets.  Agilent flys from the Springs to Mesa.  Who knows if they stop anywhere - yes, it may be grim but you do "get there".  Just a thought -

Trying to behave as Shirley just told me to behave.  Shirley:  I boil water in a tea kettle and pour that over the drain after the soda and vinegar mixture is foaming.  Mama's trick.  We always had renters in the upstairs and we always had to fix things - I almost danced for joy when we finally had our own family house without having to 'be quiet' because there were people upstairs.  Mom was the most practical woman I ever knew.  I did not know about Vicks taking a fever down.  Good to know.

Amy:  I drove on ice (7 miles to work) for years in rural Minnesota but would be too frightened to do it today. Always ask for your angel.

Phyllis:  The Dust Bunnies come out at night and dance all over the house.

Lloyd:  Have a safe day whatever you are planning.

Gloria:  Spray WD-40 into the car locks whenever they are frozen.

We are on-call for dog-sitting as our DIL's mother is slipping away - I think we will stay at their rental place near Phoenix because there is a fenced yard and a nice pathway around water to walk the little doggie.  They move back to Colorado in 4 months.

We drove to our favorite thrift shop - all the money goes to local charities.  Don found a rake for $1 and I bought nice thread - I forgot to bring the bag of donations.

Gloria de:  You made me laugh at your Vicks rubs.  Mom used to rub it on my chest whenever a cold and coughing happened.  I did the same - the Love/Rub we used to call it.  What a strong odor and still, it did the trick.
--I learned to pass trucks on the highway when mom and I drove from Seattle to Minnesota - I was 15.  She was so patient - when I was so far to the left that I was hitting dirt, she told me to slowly ease over to the right lane.  Can you imagine?  I had payback when riding with my children on a few cross-country drives too.

Shirley:  Picturing you with a bird on your shoulder.  That was quick thinking on throwing baking soda in the over.

Just heard the news that over 80 inches of snow needs to fall before springtime in the Rockies to even be at a normal level.  A disaster waiting to happen.

Gloria:  Thanks for the comforting message.

We are slow as snails today.  Yesterday was spent driving about an hour plus to visit with two cousins and spouses from Minnesota - I drive and Don sleeps and we do this a lot more now.  Chatting away for a few hours then returning before dark because there could be critters crossing the highway.

I made a pizza casserole and a few other things for that lunch - there are several recipes in pinterest so if it interests you, just look it up and choose the one you may like.  It is one that is nice to have available and just reheat.

Good Day everyone!  I am so glad that I "found" this little spot once again.  I was up early to view the large reddish colored moon - we had two extra large moons in one month.  Very different.  I could not get my Kindle to take a picture - instead, I inadvertently was making a video and apparently talking to myself.  All of this in very dark back yard.  Is that insanity?

Angel:  Sounds like you nailed your allergy problem with all or at least a few of the trees on your walk.  It was 82* here yesterday - way way above normal.

Mary Ann:  Tom is a good and thoughtful person.  He is lucky to have you too.

Joy:  We pick up things like apple cider vinegar and note pads at the $1 store.  I make solar  lights for $3 each from the store too - favorite gifts to family and neighbors.  Putting things away is not easy anymore.

wJoan:  Windy days just get so annoying.

Bubble:  good idea on the sour water taste to train that cat.  It sounds like you have experienced the same.  I used to sprinkle water on any child (of mine) who started a tantrum - it stopped them in their tracks.  They still love me.

This morning, we will tote the pizza casserole and teriyaki marinated chicken I fixed yesterday for a lunch at a cousin's house about an hour's drive.  Another cousin  and veterinarian husband is visiting - everyone is from Minnesota. He is recovering from major surgery after being thrown off a horse last winter.   We will talk until our jaws ache.

Good morning Larry!  Good wishes on getting better now that you have taken all of the antibiotics.  Hi to Pat!  I am knitting a scarf - it is not my favorite thing but something to make.

Where is that marvelous moon?  It is cloudy this morning - still, there are a lot of stars to see.  I have been herding cats - well, it feels like it when trying to gather family for a mid-day lunch tomorrow.  4 cousins from Minnesota are in the area  and we have set a time for tomorrow's lunch finally.  This morning is a new doctor's appt. for me and buying fresh chicken to marinate for tomorrow's lunch - along with a pizza casserole just because it looks interesting.

Lloyd:  Wishing you enough snow. Good day to you!

Earthquakes - I have been through tough ones in Seattle and a milder one in Denver.  We used to have quake drills in school.

I have not been in here for such a long time.  Hoping all of you are healthy and happy.

I am allergic to Arizona this year.  Yep, never before such sudden blinding pain and I will talk to a new to me doctor tomorrow about this - my primary care doctor is home in Colorado.  Love my bright and common sense primary care doc - she is one of the states top 10 doctors and oh so easy and friendly.  Hugs too.  Anyway, something is causing this head pain and I did not have it when we went home to Colorado for two weeks in December so it has to be an allergy (diagnosing myself).

It has been a tough winter - losing friends in here and friends we have known - the flu is raging here in Tucson so we stay out of crowds and missing a lot of activities.  It is necessary - they predict this will be going strong even through March.

Back to knitting a scarf - it isn't my favorite craft but it keeps me quiet and so nice to sit and listen to music too.

Two of our children lost beloved dogs in one week at Christmas and any day another child will be losing his buddy.  We have our favorite stories of our  family dogs always the best and funny stories.

Sandy:  so glad to hear that your little one - Fe - is feeling better.  I hope she didn't have the flu.

Gloria de:  You are a good optimist.

Don:  Clear plastic zip lock bags are good for your pen, keys and so forth too.  You know the drill.  Have a wonderful visit.

Jane:  How old is your little TLH?  You did mention quitting your job - anytime in the future?

Gloria: perfectly true

Callie:  A very nice gesture - two cowboys in Lusk, Wyoming paid for our breakfast one morning.  Pay it forward - we really like the idea and it is just fun to imagine how it helps ones day.

Amy:  I found the picture of your doggie quilt.  That is just so sweet.  You are so compassionate to sew for Cancer victims.

I looked at several posts and pictures in the "Picture" area on here and sad to say I have been neglectful in checking out that corner.  The pictures are very proffesional - such a talented group in here.

Mary Ann:  I hope you do get out for lunch this weekend.

Jenny:  Out in California - I do hope the temperature at the beach is warm.  As for sciatica, a massage therapist helped me once - and otherwise new walking shoes.  Looking up Paso Robles - Have a wonderful time celebrating the wedding!---- Oh, my gosh - another deputy shot by a mentally ill person - something has to change.

Gloria:  good jokes!

Amy:  I could not get the quilt picture - will go back and try again.  It must be that Canadian/US border thing  ;)  I am not happy with my sewing this week - it just isn't as good as it used to be - but people are not going to critique hot pads so it won't matter.

Joy:  Good luck in downloading your books.

Such nice posts this morning and I have already had my first hug of the day too.

Peter:  We use SKYPE all the time - it helps so much as Don has a hearing difficulty so he will try to have everyone call on on skype and he always calls out on it as well.

Jane:  We always have to recuperate after having "company" - I think the talking just wears us out.  So much fun to be together and so exhausting.   Peace be with you.

Bubble:  You were born in Zaire?  Now, that is a story in itself.  So interesting.....

Gloria;  Eye of the Beholder --- that is some insight.

What a voice - so perfect to old-time hymns.  Elvis started with singing in a little church.  Fame and lifestyle took him away too young.  Thanks, JOY

Gloria:  I still cannot make "twosome meals" - so many frozen leftovers so they do come in handy.

roley  Take care!  So sorry to read that you had a heart attack.  Keep us posted on your health and happiness.

Please do post the javelina picture.  They are ugly and smelly.  They walked right over the pellets we bought that were supposed to ward off the intruders.

Sorry to learn of Hal's passing.  He was an interesting poster and really had a good family life.

I always liked Elvis singing gospel.  He started singing in a little church at a very young age.  So, I listen to Elivis gospel, John Denver and a lot of classic music on ALEXA.  Elvis just rocks the house as well as Roy Orbison.  Just a few of the great ones!  I went to a concert in Seattle alone to listen to Nat King Cole.

Gloria:  "My dog is a congressman" - or woman.  You can add that they live on our money for the rest of their lives.   Enjoyed your newsy post.

Radioman-Don:  Very interesting note on you turning in your car.  We are finding that wherever we go, the population has increased much too fast and the speed LIMIT means nothing.  It would be worth the absence of stress - good for you.

Shirley:  Tucson has a law against too much lighting and it is observed much more in the north end of the city (here).  There is an observatory and lack of lighting helps to see the stars.  It may move some day because they are complaining about more and more lights are interfering with their studies of the stars - too much building and everyone wants to put in outdoor lights.  Did you find a picture of the ornery varmint?

Amy:  Soup turned out alright.  I froze one container and have two quarts in the fridge.  Having a ham bone is the secret - I am sure you know that.  Are you begging cookies from Jane?

I am hoping everyone is super careful on the ice/snow.  May you all be safe from the flu and colds too.

The yard is open here and a herd of javelina came though sometime in the night and wreaked havoc.  They broke a pottery bird bath - where I had put a block of quail seed.  Also, they scratched and shredded cushions on our two rockers.  ACE hardware had a solution and we bought some pellets that smell like coyotes (they are the enemies to javelina.  Other solutions would be to fence the yard (to expensive) put in motion sensor lights or sit outdoors and point a stinging gun (they animals do bite).  We shall see how this works.

A crock pot is simmering with split-pea soup - ham bone is in it to make it more ham tasty.  We will have a lot to freeze for quick meals later.

Amy:  Great news.  Now you can breathe.

Shirley:  I made a mistake with our youngest son and his little finger was really broken - he could bend it when I proclaimed it was Okay.  Dreadfully shameful for that mistake.

I lost a dear friend last year when she waited much too long to go to the ER - she was told to go home and put affairs in order.  Be careful about "toughing it out".  Miss her and her family misses her big time.

Finally, some down time to check in this group.  I read a few of the notes and comments on weather.  It is a dry winter so far in Colorado and the mountains are severely in need of snow - I think 6 states depend on that water. whenever I see a new development with a front "water feature" it looks like no one is listening to warnings.

wjoan:  How is your snow in the mountains?  I forgot to ask my brother in Chelan.  What is happening in your area?

Larry:  Perhaps Pat can get a 2nd. opinion or even three?  A friend who had the surgery has a shot about every six months and she also goes to a pool for their special exercise.  Dairy Queen sounds so good.
