Town Talk / Re: Norms Bait and Tackle

Local GP is putting me on another three-four week tablet course, same tablets I am on these last few weeks, Carbamazepine...Only this time as I am down to two per day, we are doing it in reverse, two continuing weeks at two per day then one per day for another week or two but she did tell me it could well come back again, just what I want to hear...NOT...

...Richard got there early and was seen earlier than his appointment time...He is to go see the Cardiology Consultant in ten days to hear the results, he doesn't seem too worried..

Well Richard has trundled off in his car to his early morning Echo-cardiogram hospital appointment, then in the  afternoon he will take me to our local GP for a checkup on my Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia medication follow up...I think it has made a difference, not completely vanished but been  a d***m sight better than I had been for the last couple of months...Should also give me the chance of telling her about my recent MS fall, even though they come part and parcel of our MS...I am not expecting anything to come of it unless she can order me a brand new body....

~ Iris Hellelden

You will never be old with a twinkle in your eye
With the springtime in your heart as you watch the winter fly
You will never be old while you have a smile to share
While you wonder at mankind and you find the time to care
While there's magic in your world and a special dream to hold
While you still can laugh at life you will never be old
Rammel...write them down on a piece of paper as you remember them, then save them for later... then forget where you put that piece of paper, or forget you wrote something down on a piece of paper to save for later, this usually works for me... :idiot2:

Mary Ann...I do know I joined our forum at the age of 59, I am soon to be 68...I am understanding our forum had already been up and running for one year...They say time does fly, especially when one is enjoying themselves, well it sure does..I have enjoyed reading all your stories of the days of leading up to joining our forum and the forum before...

Now that is a name I remember, Peaches, she always came across as such a lovely sweet delicate person...

As for meeting up with any members, the only member I have had the chance to meet in person is Jenny ( Denver ) when she visited UK, and stayed in London..

I am sure S & Fs has been going for nine or ten years, I joined a year later..cant remember whether Norms Bait and Tackle was here at that time...I guess I waited a year or two before I plucked up the courage to join Soda Shoppe as my very first stop off...we had so many members - posters... It wasn't long before I was asked to join the card making group, I jumped at the chance, that kept me busy...
This was with our original site, before our site collapsed and Pat started it up again from fresh...

Oh yes, i remember our Norm...

Oh no, 117 S&F's email notifications, I need to put a stop to these, its just like before...another 5 within seconds...

Edited: Think I done it correctly this time, now I fathomed out how I done it last time..
" cant see past the end of their nose..."

and ...

" to cut off your nose to spite your face..."

I am sure many are aware of these two..

...yes, I believe this is our first ever communication with each other, I hope our first of many, thank you for acknowledging me and my posts...
I have to say, what a lovely avatar photo of both you and your hubby...I hear so many wonderful stories of times on the Senior Net forum, a tad before my time as I was not aware of it until until a year after it folded and then got mentioned on our S & F's forum when I became a new member the following year after Pat started our forum up, I know how much it is missed by our members, they have always talked good about it..

They are grip rugs...but easy for me to catch my foot on a corner which I'm sure is what happened this morning...otherwise slippery wooden floor  panels underneath..

Took an MS fall this morning, tripped on the kitchen floor rug, our feet dont get lifted high enough.... tried to grab hold of the kitchen chair or table, went down, landed on my good leg, my left leg knee bent right back with my full weight on it...If anyone is aware, we with MS if we have a fall, we cant be pulled up from the front, we have to either turn over and walk on our knees or scoot our backside to somewhere solid we can grab hold of and pull ourselves up by it, turning back onto our knees, we can only get up by ourselves..I am ok now, just walking slower than my usual slow, with extra caution...

Lindancer ( Gloria D ) our British Royalty is wishing you a fantastic day, she even has her red hat on...She doesn't do that for everyone, unless they reach 100, then she sends them a special 100 Birthday Card here in UK..Hmm, not sure I will make it on her list...

I was christened Jacqueline, my late father always called me by that name, guess it was me who shortened it...I always have to smile as my gran ( fathers mother ) always pronounced my full name of calling me Jake-alin....cant remember ever correcting her, guess I wouldn't have dared,  as she was on the cantankerous side...
I lost gran when I was 2 or 3 months pregnant at age 17...
...I do vaguely remember that song and guess like others, could never fully understand it, a bit gobbledegook to me... ;D

I had an uncle and an aunt living together who produced three children, older cousins than me... it was only later I found out they weren't actually married to each other but, were " cousins. "....I always wondered why they had separate surnames...

Staying on the subject of Idioms and sayings...

Who remembers parents saying?

" Hes got bigger fish to fry..."

In other words, more important things to do...
...I cant answer that question as it was during my first 18 or 24 months of my life, I just know where the orphanage was...It was during the time it took my natural birth father to legally adopt me, he was already married to " my mother " who couldn't have children...I know, sounds complicated but these strange things happened 60 plus years ago....
...Same as I have a cousin who's mother is her sister and her grandma is her mother...Her father was my fathers brother, my uncle but they never got married...There was such a stigma in those days...

Marilyne...I too remember that one..." beside herself..." or  " beside myself..."
" Living in cloud cuckoo land.."

Not living in reality if one thinks that " harebrained idea " will happen...

Oh yes, my late parents often believed that place was my home...
