Just a heads up to everyone, I will be upgrading the site to SMF 2.1 in the coming weeks. For those who aren't members of CP (another site of Pat's that I just did the upgrade on), the new version includes quite a few new features as well as a theme that's optimized for devices of all sizes, including smartphones and tablets. The new features include the ability to embed YouTube videos, the ability to like posts, a built-in notifications system, post/PM drafts (start working on a post, then save your work and come back to it later without having to keep the site open) and a few other things.

I will keep everyone posted as to when the change is happening so you're not caught off guard

Just a heads up to everyone that I will be moving the site to a new server tomorrow night. As with last time I am staying with the same host, but the new server is configured differently such that I'll have access to more up to date software and such.

Also, I need to know who all has access to cPanel besides Pat as I'm using a different control panel on the new server (cPanel doesn't work with the version of Linux I'm using on the new server). The layout is simple and pretty easy to adjust to (I've familiarized myself with it in about a week and a half after using cPanel for 15+ years), but the address has changed so I want to email the appropriate people with that info

As usual, the change should take effect within 24 hours of the time I move everything over. Let me know if you have any questions.

Quick heads up for everyone.

In the coming days I will be moving the site to a new server. I am staying with the same host, just moving to a server with a newer version of the operating system. I will post here again once I have a better idea of when the move will happen (probably either overnight Wednesday into Thursday or overnight Thursday into Friday), and will also put the site in maintenance mode prior to the move so nothing gets lost in the process. Once the process has started the move should take less than 24 hours, depending on how long it takes your ISP to process the DNS changes.
