Angel, I've gone back through Lesson 11 to try to find out what is going wrong for you.  I used the same colors that were used in the tutorial.  ffffff (foreground) and 524f3e (background)>>Angle 45>>Repeat 0>>Linear Style>>and Invert is checked.

Go through Step 1 and make sure you have the same Seamless Tiling Settings that the tut shows. Add your Gaussian Blur set at 25.  In Step 2 apply your fractal veins mask with setting of only Source Luminance to a new raster flood filled with background color (524f3e).

I used this main image: ( just as an example here...it is not the same one I used in my finished Lesson 11)



and got this result after going through Step 2:



(I apologize that the second graphic is so big but hope it will be allowed just this one time.)

The settings on each of the steps are very critical so re-check to make sure you are using the same ones that are in the tut.

I don't know if this will help but I hope so.

that seamless tiling is so precious in all the first steps and of course the blurs after that.  I love the background you created Phyllis.  Probably the vein mask too.

I saw within your post what I had been missing. I was using the mask fractal_electric_veins for my main image rather than my actual main image and I didn't see it until just now! I swiped your image by the way.

I signed up for Wini's basic intro lessons as I figured I could use a refresher. I was so frazzled by Lesson 11 and until Phyllis never did see my mistake, too much anxiety. Anyway, I am doing both sets of lessons concurrently.

Hooray, Angel!  So glad you found it....these little errors can drive us all around the bend.  BTW, I like the red and purple together.....don't think they clash at all.  Now, just sit back and relax for awhile....you deserve it.

Okay, here we go again! On lesson #13, you are asked to prepare a transparent file of 800 by 500 and flood fill with a foreground-background of gradient angle 45 and 5 repeats along with a radial style.

The next step is to use Simple's left-right  wrap. This does not work, filters are grayed out. However, substitute a tube and the filters work!

Back to blended play again, Here is an example of Simple's left-right wrap.

Angel try to have select all and see if that makes the Simple's left-right  wrap active. then deselect.
For me it works both ways.

That last blend is perfect and your people fit right in.

You were right, the second play time is tamer and good: that yellow was jarring!

Mmmm... I don't like the pink of the bow!

Bubble, both Happy Easter and Tutoriel 93 are great however, I agree about the bow, perhaps one of the blue shades?

I am still unable to do lesson 13 although I have seen versions come through. My mod seems unable to help and perhaps she feels I'm either whining or too defensive? I don't know. Here are four illustrating the problem, screenshots. These filters will only work within Filters2Unlimted.

Angel, it looks like your last two screen shots are the same.  (EDIT:  OK, I see that the last screen shot you have Select All turned on, as Bubble suggested.)  Are you saying that you place your Simple filters in your Filters Unlimited folder and FU will not open?

Have you at some time imported the Simple filters into Filters Unlimited?  I rarely ever import filters into Filters Unlimited.  My Simple filters show up in the "User Defined Filter" dropdown list because I put them in the My PSP Files>Plug Ins folder.  In my computer the Simple filters show up on Page 4.  (I have 5 pages of filters showing in PSP.)

You might try going to the Winni Lessons PlugIns page and download Simple and make sure it goes into the folder I mentioned above.  If you have a popup-window saying those files already exist and do you want to replace them?  Just click on replace.

Perhaps I'm not giving you the right answer because I don't really understand the problem.

Phyllis, for some unknown reason, many regular filters such as Simple, Kang, Medhi, Italian Editors, and Julia will not work unless they are installed in the Filters Unlimited 2. I don't know if it is because of W10 or just this old desktop. And they are new installs from Wini.

The issue is that after doing a new transparent file and flood filling it with the gradient, measurements double checked, the filters show grayed out when attempting use. They will work with a tube layer but will not work with just the gradient. My mod tells me to go away, do something else and come back but I am also getting notes about have I submitted my work?

Bubble, tut 191 has both an interesting mask background and good matching tubes. Its an interesting albeit probably lengthy tut.

Lisa is the same except even more intricate!

About your simple greying out... I am no help there, but can offer another kind of help.
I remember that when I was learning in SSTPSP I had  the same problem with a filter and of course could not progress to the next lesson.
Bunnie then helped me out.  I sent her the PSP image I was working on, gave her the indication of the filter that I needed on it and she sent me back the result - as a PSP image of course- so that I could continue with that lesson.
If that is agreeable to you, I am ready to help you out!

Angel, those notes about have you submitted your work are automatically generated and appear every week.  Just to jog every one in the class to send something in if they haven't done so, I think.  They are not directed to you personally.  I get them, too.

Now I'm having trouble with the Richard Rosenman filter needed for Lesson 22.  These dratted filters drive me crazy sometimes.  I think I'll take your Mod's good advice and shut PSP down and do something else for awhile.  I may have better insight when I come back later today or tomorrow.

Bubble's suggestion for giving you help sounds like a good one.  Send her the pspimage and let her apply the Simple filters and send it back to you.  I won't tell.   

Phyllis, I'll do it as long as she explains why it will or will not work for her. I am also taking the basic lessons as well just to recap.

  Speaking of Filters Unlimited 2, I just had to download all of the Andrews filters into it. I also checked each one of my filters with an image. So I will try numbers fourteen, fifteen and hopefully finish number thirteen tomorrow! I did just play with this one image that came through my email today.
