Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Almost time to say "Good Night".

AMY, I bet he'd like the hot mustard!  If I had some here, I'd offer him a jar!  With everything I needed to bring and having to fit it to fly here, I left the mustard at home.  I do have his address though.  I suppose I could send him a jar when I get home!  I bet that would surprise him!

We have a leak in some kind of line and I think Jim said it's a natural gas line.  They don't know where it's leaking....can't find anything and Jim seems to think it's the warning buzzer that's bad.  I sure hope he's right or we might all wake up conked out tomorrow!  Oh well, Cindy just took off to go get a new one so we shall see!

I wish you all  a peaceful night's sleep and a good tomorrow.  I'll report in tomorrow (I think)

The original version of the song that served as the basis for one of Paul Rever & The Raiders' biggest hits. Their version is a bit different than John Loudermilk's original though. They added their own chorus and made it more a song of the Cherokee people than Native Americans in general.

Oh, and Thursday we settled down to an Aftahnoon Tea of tiny sandwiches and little cakes, just three of my girls and me.  Well, Steve was allowed in, but he did not get much chance to join the conversation, which tumbled all over the place at once.

Last night I enjoyed a splendid dinner followed by Debi's creation of the most yummy cake in the World: chocolate fudge with chocolate fudge icing.  And yes, we had our choice of a fantastic list of ice cream flavors from Homer's in Chicago.  I chose the pink Peppermint candy one, which, in combination with the fudge cake, makes for a Happy Tummy!

Oh, Marilyne, I had a whole week of wonderful.  I am too old for going out to dance the light fantastic or whatever, but the cards and the flowers and the phone calls and the emails have just POURED in, and it has made my heart swell up to a fare thee well.  On Tuesday, Becky drove me down to the community pier, where we joined half a dozen others in watching the Blue Angel's practice in the blue, blue skies for their Naval Academy graduation routine.  We always get to see them twice, because the Wednesday sudden roar overhead announces their presence once again to display the real show!  This time, we watched from our own pier.  But it was great fun being with those locals on Tuesday, because when Becky told them I was turning 95, they broke into spontaneous applause.  Hey, they weren't so young themselves:  grey and white hair dominated.  Graduation was yesterday, and I am proud to report that the number one middie was a female, as is the new Academy Superintendent and as is the Secretary of Defense who came to the ceremony.  Woo hoo!  And I got heaps of presents.
Our weather has held, the storms have gone elsewhere, our skies have been beautifully blue with puffy little white clouds circling the horizon and sunshine poured extravagantly over all.
God's been in HER heaven, and all's right with our local world.
Of course, what with the families that pour into town for graduation, and the Memorial Day Holiday, we have not been taking to local roads, or any roads whatsoever. But the attention I have received from children, granddaughters and great grands has felt like a triumph I could never have imagined. I am blessed!

Jane, you should share your hot mustard with Dan! Lots of fun watching the crows here, soon they will bring their young and watching them is better than TV!

Patricia, our temp is 58° at the moment and I am wearing a heavy long sleeved shirt. More rain on the way plus a storm on Monday.

Pimento Mac and Cheese Bites

By Heather Meldrom    Published on December 21, 2015

Hands On Time: 30 mins Total Time: 45 mins Yield: 36

Ingredients:

    ½ pound elbow macaroni

    2 tablespoons butter

    2 tablespoons flour

    ¾ cup whole milk

3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

    2 tablespoons mayonnaise

    4 teaspoons spicy brown mustard

2 teaspoons Tabasco or other hot sauce

    ¾ teaspoon cayenne pepper

    1 large egg, lightly beaten

2 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese

    ½ cup fine bread crumbs

½ cup diced, drained jarred pimentos

    Directions:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the macaroni, and cook according to package instructions. Drain well and set aside.

Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, whisking constantly, about 2 minutes. Add the milk and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture has thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, hot sauce and cayenne in a large bowl and stir until smooth. Add the cooled flour mixture and egg and stir to combine. Add the cheddar cheese, bread crumbs, and pimentos and stir to combine. Add the reserved pasta and stir until completely coated.

Heat oven to 375°. Spoon heaping mounds of the macaroni mixture into the cups of 1 ½ mini muffin tins (about 36 cavities), pressing down lightly so that they are well-packed and resemble little muffins. Bake until bubbling and deep golden brown at the edges, about 10 minutes.

Let cool in pan 5 minutes, then use a knife or skewer to lift each bite from the pan. Serve warm.

Mary Page -  Your Birthday was yesterday, the 24th? 🤔
The birthday's of our members are not posted like they used to be in the past??   I think there is a list, located somewhere here in S&F, but I don't know where it is?
Age 95 is another milestone,  so I hope you celebrated with some of your family members, and had a  cake or cupcake to enjoy, and some of that special ice cream that you like.
Wishing you a belated   HAPPY BIRTHDAY,   and hoping your day was a good one!
