Sad news for friends of Jeanne
« on: January 13, 2018, 06:34:59 PM »
This is Ken again,

It's with a heavy heart that I tell her dear friends, Jeanne Lee passed at 9:00 AM Thursday morning, Jan 11, 2018.

Alice (her daughter) and I were at her side when she passed very peacefully.  The last words she spoke to me Monday, were, "What would I do without you?" She paused a moment, took a breath and then said "I'm going to be with Jesus soon".

Her friends, her family and her faith gave her so much joy and comfort. She considered all of you her family. Pat, she loved you and thought of you as the sister she never had.

My brain tells me I will miss her less as time move on, my heart is not so sure. There will never be a day that goes by I will not think of her.  She was a good friend and a dedicated mother.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no memorial service other than a mention during Sunday's church service.

This was the news I was dreading to hear...I was praying that she would bounce back again, sadly this was not to be...

Jeanne Lee had a good sense of humour, a humour I could get on with....she always seemed so bright and bubbly...

You also came to my rescue on more than one occasion, especially when I was a new member 6 -7 years ago...I remember you helping to put my weather clock on for me....something I could not have achieved by myself..I still cant do it...
You was one of the first who welcomed me onto our forum...

My condolences to the family who stayed by her side until the end...yes she will be missed by many...

Even though my brain tells me she is in a better place, my heart says I miss my friend Jeanne Lee!  Sorry Ken, I borrowed that from you but it's so true!  I always pictured her in my mind with that smile from her picture!  I always will!

Jeanne will be missed. I knew Jeanne Lee from SeniorNet to Seniors and Friends. Eighteen years have gone by in a minute! It will be so different without her help and encouragement along the way.

Oh Jeanne, Jeanne, Jeanne!!  How I will miss you my dear, dear friend.

June 1996 was when we became close, close friends two months after SeniorNet started...22 years!

Three days before she went Home to Glory, we spoke on the telephone sharing how both of us were so ill but somehow together we'd keep going with what had to be done on the websites.

We prayed together for each other and for some of our members who were ill or had other problems.  Just before hanging up, Jeanne said, "My God hath done all things well!"  and then,  "Pat, I'm sure I can look after things until you are well enough to do things.", 201

About three days later, I got the phone call from Ken.   :'(

I have no idea how we'll be able to even begin to fill Jeanne's size 12 shoes.  We always kidded each other when we compared our feet size--mine are size 13!

It will take time to get things working like Jeanne and I envisioned but with my illness (since November 1,2015), taking up such a huge space in my day to day life, it's certainly going to be difficult.

Again my dear friend Jeanne, I love you and will remember you fondly in the years to come.  :smitten:

It is always so sad to hear that one of our friends has gone.  We will miss her terribly, but know she is where she was so assured she was going...to be with Jesus soon.  God Bless her family and all her friends.

Ken, I hope you will pass our sincere grief on to the rest of Jeanne Lee's loved ones, just how sad we are.  She not only helped all of us with our computers but she had a kindness about her that gave us a special note of caring.  She was a flag waver, so proud of members of her family that carried the "red, white & blue".  A free spirit that encouraged all of us one way or another.  I am sorry for your loss, we will think of her often.  God bring you good memories to fill your heart.  Shirley/Tisie in Kansas

Jeanne's Orbit
courtesy of Ken.

Jeanne Lee, nee Jeanne Alyce Bovee.
Born, June 14, 1932 in Corinth NY, the daughter of Philip William Bovee and Mary V Jalet
Died, January 11, 2018 after a long illness.

Jeanne was widowed twice. She was married to her first husband, Raymond Bernard Corson from November 1951 until his passing in April 1988.  She was married to Eugene Charles Lee from September 1989, until his death in April 2005.

Jeanne is survived by her 3 children,  Kenneth Raymond Corson of Winfield Park NJ, George William Corson of Phoenix Arizona, and Alice Jeanne Corson of Asheville North Carolina, 4 grand children Terry Corson, William Corson, Rachel Wechgelaer and Jacob Wechgelaer, and 2 great grand children, twins, Raymond and David Corson.

Jeanne grew up in Corinth NY and went to school in Corinth until High School, when she went to a Catholic boarding school near Montreal Canada. In a very short period of time she became fluent in French and was a gifted student.  Her major was business where she became fluent in shorthand and was able to type at conversational speed enabling her to become an extraordinarily skilled executive secretary. Upon graduating, she moved to Hudson NY where she met her first husband, Raymond.  She moved with Raymond to Roselle for 3 years, then Clark NJ where she raised her 3 children.  When her children were older, she resumed her career as an executive secretary where she worked in the manufacturing, legal and banking fields.

She eventually moved back to Corinth with Raymond, who also loved the town and people of Corinth where she remained after his death.  She moved again after marrying Eugene but stayed in Corinth.  She continued her career as a secretary in the banking industry until her retirement and was a also popular figure at her position in Town Hall.

Jeanne was a devout Christian and active in the church.  She was also very active in the VFW auxiliary for many years.  She was always interested in both photography and computers.  She was an avid reader and fan of mystery novels.  For more 20 years she was very involved in two web sites, “Senior Net” and “Christian Photography” and assisted in both groups as an administrator.  She loved helping other seniors with internet access, banking, digital photography and loved helping in any capacity, always remarkably patient and generous with her time.  She became quite close to many of the people at Senior Net and was considered by many as family even though she never even met most of them.

She will be missed by both her terrestrial and internet families as well as the many friends she’d made in her 85 years.
