Hi everyone.  Our day is getting started off as a beautiful sunny and calm day and we are to get only into the low-80's this afternoon.  As yesterday was I expect today will also be a quiet and restful day.  I haven't checked with Pat yet but we may go out late this afternoon for our main meal for today.  Otherwise, I don't plan to go anywhere today.

June, glad your doctor lightened your feet for you.  I went to a shop and had a pedicure two or three times but the last time she did a number on my toes and they pained me until I saw the Podiatrist and his specialist clipped my nails.  It sounds like you are going to be an advertising star.  June, I also found the study of Revelation to go along with Daniel and have three to four hundred pages related to that Study.

Phyllis, sure glad to see the procedure went well and you are getting better.  Knowing what is being done is something you don't often find.

Hal, I found the study of Daniel to be so interesting and should get out my materials and go through the study again but not sure I have the energy to do it.

Joan, good to see you are taking things slowly and doing a lot of resting in between.  Will one of your children be in the van with you as you make the trip? I certainly second Hal's comments about you taking care of yourself as that is the most important thing.

Amy, Pat said she was familiar with a couple of the sites you listed but not one of them that she is finding interesting.  Piling wood is a hard job.  When I was growing up we had a wood stove for several years as our winter heat source and I used to help my dad cut it and haul and stack it.

Good Morning dear hearts, I'm waiting for my cleaning girl to come in and collect the linens and remake my bed. She is behind time this morning. my regular cleaner will be back from her trip to the Philippines by the end of the month. Her timing was always more accurate.

Amy,thanks for the info on Cords of wood. It was very interesting. If you have to give up that type of heating eventually, what alternative do you have ? I remember we used a kerosene stove in the summer to cut down on the heat.

Larry, I'm going to ask Gary if he could do a study of Revelation after we finish Daniel. I know he will make it more understandable for my old brain, and the brains of others too.

My cleaning lady just arrived and did the bed and linens. She will return later to clean the bathroom then I am set till next week, which will be "deep" cleaning day. Same as today, but there will be vacuuming and dusting.

She has finished so now I will get myself freshened up and dressed for the day.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

June, we do have an oil furnace and it does kick in on cold nights. I prefer the wood heat because it is a warmer heat.

I've been in Indianapolis since Tuesday and will leave for home Saturday morning.  The wedding will be tonight and I've been with family for pizza and the rehearsal dinner was last night; lots of people.  Family from Canada came in Tuesday night and yesterday we went to Milroy Indiana (home town of Jim).  Right now I am able to catch up on S&F posts and at 12:30 pm I ready for a nap.  I wrote a long post in Norm's B&T in case anyone is interested, but it's more descriptive of my time here than the few words above.

My next post should come from home.

Maybe I do need a keeper!   :o

I put together a loaf of plain white bread in the machine this morning and it just signaled it was done.  I know the weather can affect bread, especially the humidity, and I had adjusted the amount of liquid, I thought to compensate.  But when I just went and turned the loaf out of the bin it was only about an inch thick.  I started to wonder if my machine was getting worn out and suddenly remembered...  I never even got the yeast out of the refrigerator!    :uglystupid2:

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone, another day here with a drippy sky. I cannot remember a spring with so many rainy days. Today is the last day for my regular CNA, she has a new job in a nursing home, a 5 minute walk from where she lives, more money and benefits. Cannot blame her. No crazy hours and all the traveling she does now. I just got the schedule for next week. 2 different ones will be here, one I already know. The time will not be OK, mid afternoon is when I seem to have a date with my couch. I know all these home care places are short handed and the one in charge of this one is doing her best. I will talk with here next week and see if she can schedule me back to morning hours.

JOAN  looks like Linda and Joe want you close to them fast so they can keep an eye on you.  Hope you sleep good at night with all that activity all day.

JEANNE LEE  I like my peace and quiet.  When I had my shoulder done I had CNA's every day at first and the OT there 3 times a week. At first I just wanted to be left alone but they all great. The OT and his student made it fun and we laughed a lot. The exercises were more like fun than work.

LLOYD  sorry you had a bad night and could not sleep. I have had too many of those lately.

JANE  wish they had that electric canner way back when I did a lot of canning.

LARRY  I hope I like the new CNA's I will be getting. I am not sloppy so there is not a lot of cleaning to do and I am not demanding. I have had a few here that see what has to be done and just do it, had others who ask about everything. If I have dirty dishes in the sink some will wash them and others will not ask and even leave them there.

JUNE  when I first moved to this town there were a few doctors that made house calls, even one who delivered babies at home.

PHYLLIS  if all medical people would understand that their letting us know what they are doing how much better it makes us feel. Hope you do not need more root canals.

JOAN  DO NOT APOLOGIZE for not posting often. We know you who has been in the hospital so long you would understand you need a rest and often. As long as you come here to even just say hello we know you are OK.

Once again a more that 4 hours later------ Said goodbye to my favorite CNA. Got the list for who will be here next week. One will be here from 2:45 to 4:45pm. Those hours are not good for me. That is my resting time. If she is a good worker and not a motor mouth like the Tuesday one it might not be too bad.

AMY  my daughter's  experimental gardening is doing OK, they have already enjoyed a couple of their zucchini. Her tomato plants have tiny ones showing. She bought Hawaii something tomato plants and after that she read an article that was the one that can tolerate the hot desert sun. A much longer growing season there than where you and I live. Last place I worked one lady made NY style cheesecake and would bring one in when we had a party. So good. I love cheesecake plain or with toppings.

JOAN rest as often as needed.

LLOYD  still raining here. This month we had more rainy days than sunny ones.

LARRY  no one else knows as much as you how much you need to rest. I am finding I have to now every afternoon. Dislike being disturbed when I am resting on the couch, don't sleep, mostly watching something on TV.

MARY ANN  good seeing your post. Looks like you have been busy. Enjoy the wedding.

JEANNE LEE  I could not help laughing about the yeast. How hard was that inch thick loaf of bread? I remember forgetting the sugar in a cake and wondered why it never browned and tasted odd.

JENNY  hope the Tstorms and hail do not happen for you.

Got to tell you, Jeanne Lee, you made my day!  I've had so many of those goofs lately & was feeling really down.... sorry about the bread, but thank you for the giggle.

Gloria, I was gonna come ask you about re-installing PSP but went down to the Vista computer & gave it "one more try"... and it came up like nothing wrong.  Go figure~  So I played with a few photos, resized one of the wisteria that bloomed this year & will put it over in Photos.  The beauty of PSP coming up is it already has things working the way y'all helped years ago, setting up the work space.  I will try the little 12" as soon as I get off this one.  MAYBE it will come up & work, I'd like to take it to CO so I can resize photos while out there.

Should be cleaning the pool, has a lot of cotton from the cottonwood trees & leaves from somewhere that blew in.  At least it is the right color & clean, but can't get over how those birds have been leaving their "messages" all around the pool.  I don't even see any bugs floating on the water to attract them.  Cats laying all around the pool and Hootie Owl bobbling his head... and the birds aren't the least intimidated.

Amy, even with burning coal in our good old iron cook stove it was the warmest and friendliest place in the house. Coffee pot was always toward the back of the stove, and if we were lucky there were goodies up in the warming oven.

Jeanne Lee, I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!! Even though you forgot to add the yeast you were still able to roll  around laughing…good girl !

Gloria, I'm sorry you are losing your nice CNA, but she has every good reason to change to a new job. The squeaky wheel gets the oil Gloria, so just keep on them to give you a morning hours person. You have every right to name the hours that are best for you. I think I would type out a list of what you want done and post it on the cupboard door, and tell the new person "This is what I want you to do." That way they can follow the list and not annoy you with questions and too much talk. Our little town had a doctor like yours too, only we never used him. My Mom was doctor and nurse. This doctor rode a bicycle, with his little black bag hanging from his handlebars.

Tisie, is your pool really used often enough to make it worthwhile for all the work it takes? There is a lot of expense that it entails too. However if it draws the family home it would be worth it, I'm sure…or if you use it yourself daily. Good physical therapy for sure.

I as so worn out after doing a load of laundry this morning it spoiled my whole day with shortness of breath and a tight feeling in my chest. There's not that much actual labor in washing a load of clothes, so I don't know what that was all about, but that is what occurred. I had a light lunch at home, and will have a light supper at home too. Just not up to socializing. I looked through a whole stack of greeting cards that I have received since I moved here. And I just cannot throw them away. They are all so loving and kind…my kids will have to toss them when I'm not here.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Shirley

June, nobody uses the pool because I don't keep it tuned for human swimming.  I check chlorine level sometimes twice a day & put the floater with chlorine tablets in or out as need be.  Keeps it sparkling... and no, it is not worth the trouble but can't leave it empty or go uncleaned.  I checked with a major company in Wichita at the time (30 years ago) to see what it would take to fill in. Would be very expensive since I'd have to remove wrought iron fence plus the pool fence, crack out concrete bottom so it wouldn't mildew & then the concrete surrounding the pool would be extremely hot and I'd either have to remove all that concrete or put new grass carpet on it because the concrete has cracks.  So I whine about it

Just got through running the vac on the bottom, had the pump running most of the day since we only opened it this week.  I run the pump every 4 days for about 4 hours & then vac... so it isn't as bad as it sounds.  I could pay a pool service to do the job but I need the exercise and pool service would not want to do it MY WAY.  When it is hot I do go sit by the steps & put my feet in..... water is always nice & cool.  It had a heater when we bought the house plus the cover they used to swim all winter.... but we didn't need or want either so got rid of that for storage space.  More than you wanted to know, but I'm sitting & resting.  Hot here today & I have the AC running.

Mary Ann, I still haven't gotten over to Norm's shop to read more about your activities.  Know the bride & groom are pleased you made the effort to attend.  Nice to have a chance to visit with people we haven't seen for a while, huh?   Enjoy!

Jenny, after a while "the kids" will start looking for the other when missing.  I watch old LaurenKat check where Tom & Tiger are before she comes in, if one of them stays out, she will too.  In the RV if something scares them they all 3 huddle together in the space under the foot of the bed.  Walk around space when the slide is out.  Any other time she hisses at them & slaps their face if they dare get in her "space".   ;D   Andy is going to hold off taking Cheyenne in until next Tuesday.  She will think they are going camping because he will have to take the big van so she can get in the side door easier.  I wish I could do it for him, breaking his heart, but it is time.  He will have to lift her in and out makes me cry to think of the day.  I am sending another meal of roast, carrots & potatoes that I froze.... had 2 bowls of it frozen & they enjoyed the other meal together a few days ago.  She can't have anything fried & always enjoyed my roasts, so does he.  His wife is in FL making arrangements for her mother to move to KS. Life sometimes seems to go whacky.

Gloria, wish you could post photos of the area where Regina lives..... you did a long time ago when they first bought the land & had a camper for week ends.  Bet it is entirely different now.  Hope she finds time to paint.  Tell her I re-discovered the fun of using water colors for small landscapes..... using water color paper so if good enough, can mat & frame.  I couldn't find any small pre-cut mats here so ordered some from Amazon.  Big mistake... not good enough to use so will probably donate them to an elementary school for kids to make drawings for Mothers or Dads for Christmas.

Think I have another ice cream bar in the freezer....

JaneS

I think I'm still recovering from that awful day to and in State College last week.  I can't seem to get rested up.  Also get really tired at work but two people told me today that they like to come through my line because I always have a neat story to share and they can laugh with me.  That's why I'm still working.

I'm off to bed.  Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

A late check in tonight.

We did have a couple of good rains here today, but thankfully no hail.  We managed to get most of our purchased flowers planted, however the two main pots on the back deck are so full of water from all the rains we have had, that we still can not plant in them yet!

Tonight Smokey has show a desire to meet Lola, but the closest they have been is Smokey by the side of the recliner, and Lola on the lap of one of us.  Maybe tomorrow will be the magic day.  I sure hope so.

SHIRLEY, I am so sorry to read that Andy will have to have Cheyenne put down next week.  How heart breaking....I feel so sad for Andy. It will be very hard for him to make that drive.  I loved reading about how your kitties interface with each other.  I have every reason to believe these two will be friends soon....

Pleasant dreams to all.

Good morning everyone..

Overcast day here but they say no rain :dontknow:

I did manage to get some wood piled before the rain yesterday, then picked rhubarb and did two batches of strawberry rhubarb jam. Today I need to do laundry .

Jeanne Lee, thank you I did have a chuckle over the no yeast bread, I too have been known to leave a key ingredient out.

Joan , good morning, slow and steady wins the race here and you need to rest too. I can't imagine what your going through,it is hard to throw out items you are not sure you may need at your new place.

Gloria, our ground is still cold here and the seeds would only rot if place in the ground. We are to get rain all next week so that won't help with trying to get the garden in.

Mary Ann, have a safe trip home.

June, I agree with you,wood/coal makes for a comfy room but there have been times I have had to open the door in the winter and share some of that heat! :2funny:

Jane, hope you had a sound sleep last night..

Sandy, how is your wrist/arm coming along?

Better get at the laundry..

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The sun is shining here today but we are supposed to get more rain this afternoon.  I have some errands to do so I guess I better whip up the horses and get them moving before the rains come.

I still haven't heard from the Vet about Annie's tests and if they don't call by Tuesday when she goes into get the stitches out, I'm going to call them.  I do not like "limbo" and I need to know what's going on.

Trying to decide if I want to make a trip to the Amish store this morning.  I usually like to go on Monday because it's not so busy but they won't be open this Monday due to the holiday.

I'm beginning to think it might be time for me to hang up my WM name badge and admit I'm getting too old for that kind of job.  But then, I might just see what this week brings.  Last week was on the coattails of a very difficult week and many I'm jumping the gun.  This is what I do all the time.  I'm definitely NOT a decision maker.

But I have made one decision...

It's time to go get dressed and get my day started!  Make yours a good one.

Good MOrning Everyone!

I didn't make it in yesterday, but did read all the post.  My middle daughter came in from Del Rio to celebrate the holiday weekend with us and her sister.  All the ladies of the family from around here had a girls out last night and went out to dinner at the Olive Garden.  Enjoyed by all, so I was told.

Bad weather is predicted for Sunday and Monday and possible rain everyday next week.
But I am not going to hold my breath for rain at my house.

They had the funeral yesterday for the fireman.  What a turn out.  Service was conducted by Archbishop of Catholic church in a Protestant church, big auditorium,
seats about 3000 and it was overflowing.

Amy, as usual you are a busy beaver, you need to take a little r and r yourself.
JaneS, I cant believe you are thinking of really retiring, as busy as you stay with Wally World and other things.

Everyone have a great day.

Mary Ann

I've read everything and now I'm going to close up shop to get ready for my niece to pick me up to take me home.

The wedding was beautiful and I've had a lovely time.

Time is running out.

Hi everyone.  It is another sunny and calm morning but we are headed up to 90 degrees this afternoon.  I slept in later this morning so am getting a slow start to the day.  The only thing on the schedule is we plan to eat out in the late afternoon and then on the way home pick up the online grocery order from Walmart.  Yesterday was just a calm and restful day.

Amy, I sent that site to Pat and sure she will check it out today.

Jenny, your area of the country seems to attract a lot of hail.  I just read a posting from your neighbor Carol saying their homeowner's insurance has gone of $300.

Gloria, I wouldn't like the afternoon hours either for the house cleaner unless it was later in the afternoon.  Of course, it is that time that Pat often naps a bit so that wouldn't work very well either.  I hope you get CNA's who can see what needs to be done and will do it.  I have been trying to rest every afternoon if possible for over 20 years.  I have a feeling that something to do with my still being around.

June, doing the load of washing required you to use your arms quite a bit and that can be tiring, at least it is to me.  Could you get someone who would do the laundry for you so your whole day isn't spoiled on laundry day.

Shirley, after your day cleaning the pool you deserve an ice cream bar.  I hope you found it in your freezer.

JaneS, I bet your customers would miss you if your weren't at your cash register.  I hope you can get rested up soon. If you do decide to hang up your name tag never look back on your decision.  You have worked many years and perhaps it is time to enjoy retirement.

Hal, did the ladies bring you something form Olive Garden?

Good morning Joan.  I hope the sorting and throwing away is going well.

A little humor for today:

JUST WHAT DID THEY EXPECT???????

THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:

1. "On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry.  I don't like spicy food."

2. "They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach.  It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."

3. "We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish."

4. "We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels.  We assumed it would be included in the price."

5. "The beach was too sandy.  We had to clean everything when we returned to our room."

6. "We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."

7. "It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons.  I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time -- this should be banned."

8. "No-one told us there would be fish in the water.  The children were scared."

9. "Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers."

10. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."

11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort.  Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."

12. "It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England.  It took the Americans only three hours to get home.  This seems unfair."

13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."

14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort.'  We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service."

15. "When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there.  The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish.  No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."

16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."

17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."

18. "I was bitten by a mosquito.  The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."

19. "My fiancée and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed.  We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant.  This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."

I hate that when it happens……

These must have been the same group of people who featured in an annual book sent out by the Denali Park's staff regarding visitor's complaints and questions. One visitor wrote to the desk wondering where they locked up the animals at night? Denali is a 9,492 miles or 6,075,029 acres national wilderness.

I especially liked #14, the junior hairdressers as they felt maligned.

June Drabek

Bis, I am so thankful you will be on the move soon. I think you will feel a new freedom just having your kids nearby. I know I feel that way. I don't depend on them any more that is necessary, but just knowing they are close by is a treasure of relaxation in both mind and body.

Amy, the houses my folks rented all had very high ceilings, so it never got to feel too warm. And we never had a thing called "storm" windows. When the snow piled up to cover most of the window, it was cold.

Janie, I agree with you in wanting to know the results of Annie's tests. They should have had the results long before now it seems. Leaving WM is a big decision for you dear girl. Would they give you a leave of absence for a month just to see how it goes? Or be on Stand-by for and emergency to replace a sick employee ? It might make you feel better to talk with the ones in charge before you actually give it up.

Lloyd…take it slow and easy with that machinery. We don't want to hear of another accident. You are too close to retirement to have a bad thing happen.

Larry, The list of complaints was really humorous…I think there really are some people like that. I could hire to have my laundry done…I sure would not burden my kids with that job, and that service is offered here, but I truly don't want to give up…there is so little I do now in the way of work. I notice I have to remind myself to stand straight and pull in my stomach. I'm starting to slouch, with knees bent…BAD habit.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

Well the wood is all piled for the cookstove, I just have a few pieces to pile for the stove in the garage/shop. Brought laundry off the line as dark threatening clouds are moving in.

Jeanne Lee, you were brave in telling us what happened with your bread so I might as well confess what happened to my beans. I was doing laundry and in between trips I was getting a pot of baked beans ready. Thing were looking good or so I thought. Came in for a drink of water, checked on the  beans and thought oh my they are pale!!! I forgot to put the molasses in, now they look at taste a lot better!

Going to rest...

Got my errands all done and Cathy stopped by for a visit this afternoon.

JUNE, I know what you mean about having the kids nearby.  My son and one daughter are both about 10 minutes away.  I do not ask for anything that I can manage myself but it's nice to know they're close by.

To all who commented on my remark about hanging up my name tag....I would not do something like that on a whim.  I would give it serious thought before actually doing it.  As for taking a leave of absence...I don't think that would work.  I think it's the continuity that makes it possible for me to continue.  I think, once I would quit, I wouldn't want to go back and maybe I wouldn't be able to do the job.

It's not the summer months that I dread.  It's the bad weather.  I'm not the only one getting old.  My car is aging also and I really don't like the early nights and the late mornings and the bad roads any more.

It's getting on toward time to think about supper.  Annie says she's ready and when she says she's ready, Mickie perks up her ears, too!  They are both watching me now and the will continue to do so until I'm holding food in my hands.  So I better get with it!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Jane, since it's the bad weather you don't like, how about being a fill in for vacations during summer months?  Instead of having a full time job in high school I worked summers and the 10 days of Fair week (made about as much in 10 days as the all summer job at a bakery), and always had a job at a department store over Christmas holidays.... wrapping packages.  I just convinced myself I did not need any more spending money than that!  Since my 3 brothers & 1 sister had jobs during high school, it was expected.  I never had a driving ambition to do anything since what I wanted to do was not acceptable "for nice girls" in my parents eyes.  Time for you to just decide what you want to do with your time & be happy.  I think you would miss the people most of all and would be lonely until or unless you move into a retirement village.  That's just my guess.... only you know what works for you.

Lloyd, I haven't talked to my sister that lives in Warrensburg so will call her now.  I just got off the phone with someone that lives in Lee's Summit ... they had some "gully washers".  No rain here today.  Did have a problem my neighbor caused.  My son had to dig up a sprinkler head a couple days ago, pipe below it had broken & head also broken (thanks to mowers).  Since it costs $80 for a service call plus extra for job... to the sprinkler company, I insisted my son take money for that job & for several other jobs he did that day.

I put red flags around the 2 heads he replaced so MY mowers would be careful & I had just removed them this morning ....  the next door neighbor ran over the one on the corner that joins his yard right after.... sliced the top of the head off!  My other son was visiting today & looked at what the other had done (he had replaced that head less than a month ago).... commented "I thought Andy replaced that head".... we looked & saw the top of the head laying a few feet away, neatly cut off.  The people that lived there before had a nephew mow & he was always doing damage until my husband explained to him that he didn't NEED to drive over our yard to mow theirs, that he was tired of repairing our sprinkler system.

Amy, your beans sound delicious..... I settle for "Bush's Grillin beans" these days.  I have been fixing myself baked potatoes (in the microwave) & corn on the cob (in the microwave).... and whatever kind of meat I find in small containers in the freezer.  I am not using up freezer food fast enough & it overflows.  My stack of wood needs to be hauled away, got bugs in it & wouldn't dare bring it in the house now.  I have a box of the fake wood "in case" the power goes off when it's cold, but haven't used the fireplace for several years so feel the chimney needs to be cleaned.

I always wished I could have kept my gr-mother's "new" wood burning cook stove.  On the back side of the house was 3 rooms, the summer kitchen where she did the canning (& whatever) during the summer.  Next to it was the regular kitchen that had a coal oil or other type liquid oil stove.... yellow & green, remember them?  Across the room was the wood burning stove like you see in all the old western movies.  4 burners you put wood in & the warming oven above.  There was a walk in pantry next to that.  In the next room was the dining room table where everyone ate all the time.  Had a beautiful old walnut hutch that had a cake stand built on one end, with a mirror behind.  Storage below & a shelf above.  Also her "new" wood burning cook stove that was fancy compared with the other one.  I'm pretty sure it was for heat during the winter, and to keep food warm & her coffee pot hot sitting on it.  Always a house full of people.

Good memories but I hated her prune cake that she was famous for in that little town.  We weren't allowed to say we didn't want something, had to eat a little piece & it haunted me until that part was over.  Not sure what all it had in the cake, but my youngest brother had convinced me that the raisins she put in it were "ticks".... anyone that remembers bird dogs that actually went into the woods would have thumb size ticks on them.... ick!   Time to gather cats for one last meal before "Sat night bath time".

Good morning everyone..

Tad foggy here this morning
Thankfully the rain held off yesterday and laundry dried on line and wood got piled. I just need to tidy up the mess from the  wood but not today. Today is my day of rest!

Lloyd, I would love to see that stove also please. I remember when I was looking for a cookstove ,a man had one from a hotel. The stove had two oven doors on it ,one in front and another in back of it. Beautiful stove but too big for the area I wanted it for.

Shirley,we were also raised to eat what was put in front of you....to this day I still detest vegetable marrow. I love old stoves but try to get insurance on your home if they are not CSA approved.(Canadian Standards Association)

Larry, I got a chuckle out of your post and past it on for others to have a laugh.

Hall...today is r and r :)

Enjoy your day everyone..
