A tough old cowboy once counseled his grandson that if he wanted to live a long life, the secret was to sprinkle a little gunpowder on his oatmeal every morning.

The grandson did this religiously and he lived to the age of 93.

When he died, he left 14 children, 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and a fifteen foot hole in the wall of the crematorium.

Hi everyone.  It is another overcast morning.  It is cooler this morning and only suppose to get up to 82, which will be a pleasant change.  We do have an 80% chance of rain today.  Pat and I will go to Sunday School and Church this morning, get something to eat before we come home and then have a restful rest of the day.

Carol, all those little pieces of your quilt will one day become a beautiful finished quilt.

Jenny, when our children took piano the price was considerable higher than what my mother paid and it was for a 30 minute lesson and not an hour lesson.

Callie, I sure wish we had a siren system in our town although know we live too far out on the edge that we wouldn't hear it.  Fortunately, we have other ways of being alerted of bad weather.  We sure didn't have hot water heaters when we grew up and managed very well.  I remember carrying buckets of hot and cold water for my mother to the old washing machine in the smoke house, which wasn't used as a smoke house anymore.  Hope you have a lot of people tour your yard and your description of what you have planted sounds very nice.

Joan, a 2 bedroom will certainly give you more room as see they are a couple of hundred or more square feet. Did your house experience water damage while you were away?  Sorry to be so nosy but just curious.

June, thumbing your nose at high blood pressure really isn't a good thing but hope you enjoyed your day at home.

JaneS, glad you found some more zzz's in your sofa.  It is interesting how sometimes we wake up from a nap feeling rested and other times still feel weary.  I wonder why that is that way?

Amy, what holiday are you observing in Canada this weekend?  I know Don said his radio show will not be broadcast as the station is shut down for the holiday.  Is today the last VON visit you will need.

Jeanne, that was a funny one this morning.  That ice cream sundae sure looks good.  Glad your electrical problem has been fixed and you are back in business.

Good Morning,

Another sunny day in central Oklahoma.

The yard tour went well and it was fun to visit with neighbors I don't see very often because I don't go for walks any more.

JeanneP,  glad your problems are fixed.  Thank you for opening a new Soda Shoppe for the week.

If I'm going to get to church,  I need to "hustle my bustle".

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Well, I've been to church and I'm home and wondering what to get into.  I think I'll just mark my place for now and wait to see what all of you get into today.

I'm thinking I'll make some breakfasts for the freezer.  It's getting a little hungry.

I received a package from Amazon some time since last night when I locked the door and this morning when I unlocked it at 7:40 to go to church.  Do they deliver in the middle of the night or at the break of dawn?  The doggies are happy and busy.  They each got a new Big Mean Kitty!  I wonder how long it will take them to relieve them of their stuffings?

Enjoy your day Everyfriend!

God morning Jeanne Lee and thanks so much for opening a new week, the graphic and the chuckle.  Glad your outlet is fixed.

Larry--Good morning.  Yes, there was BIG damage when the pipes burst. Plumbers cost $7,000 and painters $8,000.  Thank goodness for insurance.

Good morning, Callie.  Hopefully you "hustled your bustle" and got to church on time.

halkel--Good morning.

Tom and I went OTB for a change but Dot didn't feel up to going.  She isn't ill, just wasn't awake enough.  We went to the Cholesterol Pit.  I thought I'd see people from church, but did not.

We will have more rain, but i don't think we'll have more storm.  Our rain might go toward Amy's location.

Today I will start packing for my trip to Indps Tuesday.

Good morning everyone, another bad night. Finally fell asleep around 5 this morning.

HAL  I hope that was a drop of rain you felt.

LARRY  when I lived at my son's house I would see kids going to and from the school bus but never saw them out playing. The humidity in summer is what gets to me.

CAROL  where my daughter now lives in Arizona was a big cattle ranch, split up into 40 acre lots. More than 150 of them. At the old ranch part they still have some cattle and they do wander around and they see them often.

JUNE  I think today is another zombie day for me.

JANE  I tried for a nap yesterday afternoon but it didn't happen, just laid there like a bump on a log.

AMY  I think I need a new mattress. I always liked a firm one but maybe a softer one would be kinder to my back.

JOAN  it is YOU we want to see every morning.

JEANNE LEE  thank you for helping Joan. You sure picked a yummy graphic by Phyllis. Good joke. Glad your home is back to normal again.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning all. Had a great nights sleep. Woke by myself at 6 a.m. B.P. this morning was 167 which is not really "high" for me.later yesterday it was down to 137. I don't keep track of the lower #'s unless they are unusually high.

Gloria, I just lost yesterday and it seems to have worked. I feel much better today and will go down for Chapel services.

Jeanne Lee, SO GOOD to see your posting this morning. I am happy you are up and running again. Are all the outlets healed along with the number one ?

Bis, I don't recall we knew anything about pipes bursting in your home. Did this happen when you were hospitalized ? How was it discovered ?

I have to scoot and get dressed for Church. See you later.

good morning from the warm and breezy rocky coast of maine.

i have my box fans set hi in the windows, where the flow is good....   thanks for so many good ideas...
flow is very important to get the best use out of these box fans.

Joan, how are you going to get to alabama?   Will you go by ambulance with help in attendance?    i am sure that you will be relieved when this move is all over.

have a good day  everyone.

Gloria--I am sorry you are having so much trouble sleeping.  Maybe some angel dust will help?

June--The pipes burst in the back bathroom.  My across the street neighbor saw water streaming out the front door.  Nobody knows how long it was going on.  It happened when I was in the hospital.

Sandy--We've rented a special van with special equipment for the trip.

Joan,
I am so glad that you have found a special van to transport you to your new home.

The thoughts of this trip must be anxiety provoking for you , but with this van perhaps you can relax and get there safely, with out too much anxiety for you personally.

Best wishes

Yummy picture of the ice cream treat!

Joan:  Wishing you a smooth trip when you travel.  It sounds like the children thought of everything to make it as comfortable as possible.

Callie:  You have a youthful outlook on life!

Mary Ann and Sandy:  Fans in the window do work well.  I hope this works for you, Sandy.

Jane S.  We have noticed a couple of Amazon things delivered on Sundays.  I hope everyone gets at least one day off during the week.

We have been watching so many British shows lately and picked up the term "Chin Wag".  My neighbor and I had a good Chin Wag about an hour ago.  We can always find time to talk about something or nothing at all.   ;)

Joan is throwing angel dust at Gloria - nice.

Yesterday, two of our boys were here moving a king-sized bed to the basement and bringing the rarely used Queen sized bed with the firmer mattress upstairs to our bedroom.  This will give us a lot more walk-around in that room and I already like the mattress better.  They were surprised when I presented each with a 2 quart bowl of hot fudge sauce that was refrigerated.    Today was spent cutting up a ham and freezing portions - slow cooking the bone and a good portion right now.  We were aching so much from cleaning that we could barely move so missed the 7:30 service.

Jeanne Lee, thanks for taking the reins while Joan is so busy..... helps.... as my mother used to say, "4 hands make the work go faster than 2".   Loved the funny... will be sending on to both sons & SIL..... all 3 will crack up like I did.

Oh, Joan.... I missed seeing that you had the water problem while you were "tied up".  As if you didn't have enough to take care of!!!  Glad it's taken care of and was sitting here thinking.... haven't ALL your problems started since you moved there?  Maybe you'll leave the jinx behind.

Jane, it's possible your Amazon package was left on a neighbor's porch & they found it & put on yours.  We had that happen to us, but the neighbor never used their front door (drive into the garage).  Since we were watching for the delivery & saw the truck stop a couple houses west of ours, I walked over to see if it was ours... it was.

Sandy, when we had a box fan (may still have the last one that my husband kept), no AC..... I used to freeze big bowls & squares of Tupperware to sit in front of the fan, actually does cool the room.  Even though the bowls didn't leak, condensation left puddles so I kept a cookie sheet under the bowls.

We had a cool night and morning but that sun is blistering right now.  Not much going on around here, cats decided to come in for the day, they all stayed in last night.  I feel a nap coming on.  Have a great day, everyone!   Shirley

Sandy, I would like to know how you do your typing. With the left hand, and on finger style? I am curious as the time may come when my right hand is sick. at my age, anything like a break is possible, and it would be good for all of us to learn from your experience.

Bis, thanks for explaining the water pipe break. And I thank God your neighbor spotted the water pouring out. One more very good reason you will be moving to a facility where things like that are no longer your responsibility. You will save big bucks by not having a home Bis, believe me, I am one that knows. I lived ( I think) about 10 years at Sunwest Village, and now going on a year and a half at Rowntree Village. (Formerly titled Quaker Gardens.) It is still run by the Quakers…not owned by them, as I understand their faith does not "own". It is a non-profit organization. I am so content Bis and you will be too. We are both Blessed with children that truly love us. God  is so Good !

SHIRLEY, this wasn't delivered by a neighbor.  If my lights were on any one of them would have knocked and handed it to me.  And this had to have come while the dogs were in the back of the house with me because they didn't bark.  There are only 4 houses on my block and we all know one another WELL.  Most of them are early to bed people.  I've heard that Amazon even delivers on Sunday.  Guess it doesn't really matter.  I was just surprised to open the door and see it there.

i THINK THAT HAVING ONLY MY LEFT HAND TO TYPE WITH IS EASIER than having only my right hand would be...

Now that it has been 3 full weeks since I fell, I am able to use my right fingers a bit more..  so things are getting better..   and no more pain meds really needed...

Three weeks from tomorrow, cast comes off.

Sandy--The trip does cause anxiety.  It takes about 10 hours.

Carol--My children have done a good job in getting things together to be moved.

Shirley--Since I was in ICU when the house problems happened, Linda and Joe too care of the restoration.

June--I know I will e happy to be rid of homeowner responsibilities.''

Janie--I have personally seen Amazon deliver on Sunday.

Sandy, Sandy, YAY ! It will be a celebration for you to have your hand back again.  Wasn't it three breaks in all ?

Bis. Our children have been a real gift of God. We are among the very fortunate.

I have had a quiet day at home. Had a huge serving of Cornish Hen with all the essentials for lunch, so brought half of it home for tonights supper. The German lady that spoke to us at Church was very interesting. She lived there during the Hitler era. Quite sad really.

Bis, the 10 hour trip will be tiring for you, but knowing you will made comfortable, and with family, you can just lay back and think  thankful thoughts. God will surely be your traveling companion.

It has been warm again today, but I am going to shut off the a/c, I get tired of the sound.

Good evening, just coming in to mark my place. 82 Friday, and could go down to 40 to night.

JeanneLee, thanks for delightful graphic.

Carol love that chin wag.

Joan, I know you will be happy when you are settled in your new home.  Looks and sounds great.  We all will be making the trip with you mentally.

Gloria, I am sorry you are having a bad time sleeping. I do understand I went to bed at ^AM Thursday.  I guess you are having the same up and down weather we are having here on LI

June, the  low reading is very important
.

June, I have heard the lower reading is more important than the upper reading.  You can check with your doctor.

Sandy, when I broke my left wrist, it also was a fracture, not a complete break.  I think I could type because my fingers were free from the mesh cast they put on the wrist.  I did not put any pressure on the wrist.

The cast was of mesh that the nurse wet and when it dried on my wrist, it was solid.  I woke up the first night and the cast was not on my wrist; I found it in the bedding.  I think in three weeks, I had three casts and the last week, the nurse told me I didn't have to have the cast any more.  She went to get some scissors to cut the cast and in the meantime, i just pulled the cast off.  The nurse wondered how i had done that, so I showed her.  I can't believe I was the only patient to do that.

I am now packing for my trip and it is tiring.  Long ago I made out a list of what to take on trips and I am using that as a guide.

We've had a nice day today although there is rain west of us.  The weather forecast is for rain Tuesday but Tom doesn't mind driving in rain and "no sun" is easier on the eyes.

June, I will have my computer with me and if I can get online with a different network, I will.  There will be little for me to do the first day and a half, other than compute.  The rehearsal dinner is Thursday evening and the wedding and reception will be Friday evening and about 10 am Saturday, Erin will pick me up to bring me back home - in the car that was formerly mine.

My cars were always Betsy.  Erin has usually named her cars (Norm's Big Blue became Wallace) but I think she has not renamed Betsy.

I was just going to come in to say Good Night but I have to tell you JUNE and JOANIE, you are not the only ones with loving and caring children.  I don't talk much about what mine do but they are always there for me.  I thank God that I don't need them most of the time but if I do, there would be no hesitation on their part.  Cindy even came from Texas to stay with the doggies when I was in the hospital and than's pretty special.

I'm going to go give Mickie a bath and then wait for her to dry completely before we go to bed.  I want that out of the way before my Mother's Day Gift Cleaning Lady shows up tomorrow so when she cleans the tub it will be CLEAN!  So....

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up and moving but I'll probably be among the missing today.  My Cleaning Lady will b e here at 9 and I'll be almost as busy as she is but not as speedy.  Once I have my coffee, I'll have to get my shower and get dressed because I'm meeting my former office mates to help one of them celebrate her 90 something birthday.  They are going to lunch at 11:30 but I told them I'd be late and I'd just join them for coffee and birthday cake hopefully around noon.

When I come home from there, I have some errands to do and then more to get ready to do on the way to pick up TLH after school.  When she goes home, I'm going to collapse!

I wish you all a wonderfulday filled with whatever you wish.  Make it a happy one.

Good morning everyone...

Wet day here this morning, hope the sun finds it's way out. Have a few chores that need to get done today, a bit of ironing and take the garbage away to the dump.

Larry as much as we like our VON we were glad to see the end of their visit yesterday.Victoria Day holiday  here this weekend, highway will be bumper to bumper tonight with folks going home. Son is in North Charlotte SC and he tells me just how hot it is there...

Mary Ann, I just love the name of that restaurant Cholesterol Pit..

Gloria, I hope you got a better sleep last night. When we bought out new mattress we went for firm only to fine out we needed a softer one,and we had no problems after that.

Jeanne Lee, what a delicious graphic!!!

Phyllis, that one makes my mouth water!!

Sandy, hope the 3 weeks fly by fast for you!!

Jane, have fun with your friends today.

June ,there is a lot of meat on a little Cornish hen..nice that you have two meals out of it.

Joan, thank you for all your work in here. Remember to just take it easy.  Can you rent a motorhome to do the 10 hours drive, would that make it easier on you?

Lloyd, good morning..

Better scoot..enjoy your day everyone..

Thanks, Jeanne Lee, for posting one of my older graphics.  I'm sure Joan appreciates your help with SS and I certainly do thank you, too.

Joan, I'm so sorry that you have been having such terrible problems that have been out of your control.  It will be a relief to you and your family when you get settled in Ala.  I think of you often and pray for you.

I must call the dentist and see what to do and where to go about a lump that has developed on the roof of my mouth.  I'm really ready to take a vacation from all of these worrisome problems.  But, when I think of all the things that the rest of you have to deal with I tell myself to stop complaining!   :sealedlips:

A little rainy here today but that is ok...we need the water.  The lawn is looking parched and brown in spots.

Please have a good, care free, normal day, Everyfriend.

Good morning everyone, rain has returned here for today, just saw local weather and Wednesday through Friday rain is in the forecast. Glad I spent most of yesterday outside enjoying fresh air.

JUNE  seems like the past month I just cannot keep up with anything. I missed one appointment because I did not mark it on my calendar. That is one thing I was always careful to do.

SANDY  you asked Joan a question I was wondering about.

JOAN  that must be it, I have missed your Angel dust and must be why my sleeping  or not sleeping is messed up. Thanks for letting us know how you will get to Alabama. I know how you never liked long drives and  how you would fly. Traveling that distance in a car with what you need would be uncomfortable for you. Your family is looking for your comfort and I am happy about that.

CAROL  Joan used to spread Angel dust for us every evening when she made her last post of the day. Must be why I always slept good.
SHIRLEY  I used to do that with ice in front of a fan before I for my first AC. I still have a box fan that I put on the floor facing into the bedroom to pull the cooler air from this room into the bedroom. The first summer here I slept on the couch at night but last summer tried the fan that way and it works OK.

JANE  there has been deliveries here by the post office with an Amazon delivery on Sunday.  Was surprised when I talked to the mailman who comes here. Guess they handle it like a special delivery.

SANDY  surprising how we learn how to use our left hands when the right one is in a cast. At times I will use my mouse with my left hand to see if I can still do it.

GLORIA de  Thursday and Friday we were in the 90's and broke records for heat.  I would rather have it cooler and not break records.

AMY  I would like to get a twin bed with a softer mattress. A double bed takes up too much room and it is hard getting around it. The chest of drawers is in here against the wall between the kitchen and living room. No room in the bedroom for it.

PHYLLIS  nice seeing some of our old creations show up. I was surprised to see one of mine on the homepage for this month. I am tired of all the doctor appointments lately.

Have a good day.

Hi everyone.  I was expecting it to be rainy this morning and today but once again the forecast has been changed to only a 50% chance this afternoon but higher tonight.  We should get into the high 80's this afternoon.  Today should be a fairly quiet day.  I do need to get to Aldi's for some vegetables as the bin is empty.  I may attend my Monday noon meeting if I have the energy.  That will be it for today.

We did go to Sunday School and Church yesterday.  It was graduation Sunday and the high school and college graduates were honored and two of the seniors gave testimonies, in place of the sermon, about growing up in our Church.  Each year scholarships are awarded by the ladies Circles and some individual scholarship endowments.  They awarded 27 separate scholarships. All of the students plan on attending college.  Pat and I then went to a place we like and shared a very large club sandwich for lunch and each took a nice long nap when we got home.  I ended the afternoon by watching the conclusion of the golf match, which ended up regulation in a tie and required they play an additional hole.

Joan, all that damage was certainly something you didn't need when you came home from the hospital.  I hope the repair work is done or about so.  So glad to see you are not going to make the long trip in just a car.

Gloria, it sounds like you are becoming a "night owl" although not wanting to be so.  I am always happy to see a parent wait with the younger school age children for the school bus.  We no longer have a school bus on our street and I miss seeing the activity.

Carol, we enjoy the British programs as well especially since we got the headphones as Pat used to have a problem understanding what was being said.  We are currently watching the series on Netflix called Foyle's War. That was a nice gift for your sons.  I would sure hate to give up our king size bed although it consists of twin size beds that are individually adjustable and we love them.

Shirley, we often have Sunday deliveries from the Post Office of packages from Amazon or other places.  In fact we had two packages on our front porch when we got home from Church yesterday.  I do think we could have survived without the Sunday delivery (but they didn't ask me).

Sandy, glad to see your wrist is healing and you are regaining some use of your right fingers.  You are half-way there in regard to the cast.

Amy, we had a very humid and warm day here yesterday.  We had a brief shower while we were at Church which sure helped bring the humidity up.

Phyllis, sure hope that lump in the roof of your mouth turns out not to be serious at all.  Speaking of the problem certainly isn't complaining in my book.

Amy, first of all let me thank you for the larger font; it is so much easier for me to read (maybe others too).  The Cholesterol Pit is a name that Norm and Dot gave to the restaurant years ago.  The real name is Mr Burger and there are seven of them around town.  Ours is very popular, at least on Sunday morning when we are there, and we often see other members of our church there, too.  It is a cafeteria style restaurant and Dot and I have a routine - I get the booth, then water and eating utensils and Dot orders the food.  We alternate as to who pays and our total bill is around $10 or $11.  No tip necessary.  We have coffee, often get burgers, but occasionally we split a Tuna Melt.  And Dot always gets some kind of sweet roll which we split to eat while we're waiting for the "main course".  This is always after church.  With Tom yesterday, I had the Tuna Melt and he had eggs and some meat and I didn't pay too much attention to anything else.

Phyllis, I too hope the lump in the roof of your mouth is not serious.

Now, Gabby will be quiet until the next time.

Good morning everyone.  Well the rain mo bed oT of the area and as has been the case, not much moisture for us. Just about nothing in the rain gauge.

Joanie, my Granddaughter is going through plumbing problems in her new house.  It is about four years old and had defective piping and the builder has had to come in to do repair work twice, so now they are going to re plumb the whole house.  She is not looking forward to it.

I have a doctors apt this afternoon.  So
I need to get some things done.  Roomba is missing, hiding under something..

Hal, usually I can figure out what the person means with such a sentence, but I cannot figure what you mean.  Did the rain miss most of the area?

Good Morning LLoyd,  You are in the right spot at the right time. We are going to be warmer here, 81 down to 59 tonight.

Janie, I hope your day turns out just as well as you are hoping it will be. At the end of the day, you will have earned the right to collapse.

I have decided to NOT laze around the house today as I did yesterday, so  I have made my bed, did my morning prayer time, had a good breakfast. Cleaned my coffee pot with vinegar, and now I will make a fresh pot of coffee.

Amy, this was half of a larger cornish hen, with a delicious mushroom sauce atop it.Sweet potatoes, green beans, apple salad, and a slice of boston cream pie. So, I had not only two meals from all of that but still have sweet potatoes and meat left over. I think I am finally gaining some weight, unfortunately it is all in the waist line.

Phyllis, I think this Graphic is perfect for our soda shoppe. Makes me want to grab a spoon and "have at it". Phyllis, I would be very concerned about a lump on the roof of your mouth. Let's just pray it may be a slight infection that can be handled with antibiotics. Our sinus can do some mean things to us at times.

Gloria, I attended a great program we had here dealing with Normal Aging, Dementia and symptoms. From what I learned, a lot of what we are feeling now is normal aging. Our visual and verbal memory does change as we age, but it is perfectly normal. So if you forgot to mark an appt. on your calendar, you are perfectly normal. I went to a twin bed Gloria, and promptly fell out of it on three different occasions. Very embarrassing indeed. I am still getting used to it so make sure I am dead center when I go to sleep. Whatever happens while I'm sleeping, I can't control, and I still have to walk around the bed to get it all properly made. So do be sure this is what you want. I went from a queen to a twin, so that may have been my problem.

Mary Ann, I do hope you come in and gab with us while you are away. The computer is a marvelous means of distant friendship.

Hal, good news on your Dr. appt. God is listening to your needs my friend.

Gee, I am starting to perspire…..got to close the windows and turn on the A.C.

Thanks Jane and Hal for the interpretation of what Hal wrote.  I see I did guess right, but it was kind of confusing.  I usually am able to figure out the mistyping but not this time.

June, taking my computer with me (laptop) enables me to participate if something comes up that I want to reply to.  Laptops are wonderful when you are not at home but do have the laptop.  If you ever do visit your sons overnight, be sure to take your laptop with you.

Bis, are these "Home Care Workers" medical people giving you some therapy, or are they workers doing the fixing-up after your bad water leakage ? Whatever it is, I'm sorry you can't have more peace and quiet to take care of the things you want to do, and decisions you want to make about what to take and what not to take. Gary and Dori had my Grandson, his wife and three children come in to help me make decisions. Needless to say, they were a big help, but it was  immediate deciding.

I gave my coffee pot a good cleaning with the vinegar treatment today...it needed it. White crystals were starting to appear on some parts. I don't know if we have hard water here or not, but when I had it all cleaned up and well rinsed, I made a fresh batch of coffee and it tasted extra good. And I gave my potted plants their Monday morning drink of water. After lunch I took a book to our library and checked out three more, so I will not run short if I should not feel well for one reason or another.

I hope you all had a good day, and having, or have had, a good supper. I feel sort of like the tail of the dog being out here on the left coast.

Well, all the chores and all the fun has been done and and is over for today.  Lunch with my former coworkers was fun and now we've seen Joyce into the beginning of another year.  I've deposited the trash (that wasn't as much fun.  I made an appt to get the A/C fixed on my car (that will be nice to have but not so nice to pay for), Tami (the cleaning lady found some more clean under the film that's been accumulating (that was nice to observe)  Kiran was picked up and we went to the library and then had some fun discussing "when daddy was a little boy" (that was fun.  When I took her home, Mommy was just icing some cupcakes so I had my dessert first before my dinner (that was fun).

Now i'm making dog food (that's essential...not fun or work.  And as soon as that's done, I'm going to go to bed.  That's also essential.  It's been quite a day!  In fact, it's been quite a week!

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

I have a appointment with a out side cardiologist the 14 June.  the v a do not get in any hurry  think they hope we will die and they can right us off of the books.  but at least they figured i needed some insight. they did tell me they think the headache's are related to my heart. what ever that is worth.
Have a great day. I am going to eat morning meal and go to shop and finish fixing the track pad and take the bulldozer to Kinney's and get him Hippie.
then take to bob's and do his pond then bring it home and clear a couple paths for cross fencing our place, so we can cell pasture it. then line it ans some other equipment up and call the auctioneer up and have a sale. it is cloudy here and we got another 5 tenths of liquid sun last night. instant weather says @ our time ( 6:25 AM partly Sunni but I see no sun 55º and high today of 62º. at least it is keeping the grass growing for the cattle. oh yes i forgot to tell you all the national weather station is just 18 miles west of us as the crow fly's.and they cant look out and tell what the weather is doing..

Good morning everyone, no rain today but overcast now.

PHYLLIS  it has been a long time since I have done anything new. I still have a folder of some that I did way back when there were quite a few of us doing PSP.

LARRY  today is the only day this week we do not have rain in the forecast. I do not like being a night owl. For years I was in bed by 9pm and always slept good.

HAL  hope your doctor visit was good news for you. Would hate to type and post without reading over what I wrote. My fingers cannot seem to hit the keys I want and do as they please.

JUNE  I get comfortable when I get into bed and wake in the same spot. I never was a restless sleeper so doubt I would have trouble with a twin bed.

JOAN  today I have a CNA coming at noon and also a tech is coming for the fridge. The freezer has been getting a layer of ice on the floor of it. The manager said before it was because I have the vents blocked.  Yesterday her and the maintenance man were here checking it out. Full of ice again and the bottom of the fridge was full of water again. He called the company they bought them from 10 years ago when this building was built. The will send someone today between 12 and 2, same time as the CNA. I hope he comes early because if he makes a mess she can clean it because I would not be able to.

AMY  I doubt you wobble. Have a good day.

LLOYD  hope you can find out why you get those headaches.

Good morning, Everyfriend.  Today I am going to tag things that I want to end up in Alabama.

June--The home care workers are medical people.

Good morning, Amy.  I am sure your husband will be glad to get the PICC line out.  Tomorrow I see the surgeon to get the feeding tube out.  It had to stay in four weeks after its last use and be flushed every day.  Thank goodness that will be over.

Janie--Good morning.  Hopefully everyone in your line at WM today will be wearing a smile.

Good morning, Lloyd.  I am sorry you continue to have headaches.

Gloria--Good morning.  I hope all works out with the CNA and the refrigerator  tech.

Hi everyone.  We awoke this morning to a good rain shower.  I have no idea of how long it had been going on.  More rain is in the forecast for today although not a 100% chance.  The only thing on the schedule today is that Pat has a 10:15 appointment to get her neck area x-rayed which was ordered when she saw the pain doctor last week.  I will probably drive her there although she could drive herself so if it is raining I can drop her off and pick her up at the door of the clinic.  Yesterday I got caught in a traffic backup on I-20 at the bridge crossing the Savannah River that separates South Carolina from Georgia.  There is a good chance they will not be working today because of the rain and the trip will be an easy one.  If not we will probably drive downtown and then back up on the other side of the river on a very nice road called the Riverwatch Parkway.  It will take several minutes more but we won't be caught in a traffic jam on the Interstate.

Today is our Senior Luncheon at Church but I am taking a pass and not attending.  It is the last one until the fall.  So I expect to have a very laid back day.

Mary Ann, the Cholesterol Pit sounds like a very friendly and laid back place to have breakfast.

Hal, replumbing a whole house would be a terrible job.  Does her house have a basement so the pipes are more easily accessed?  It sounds like you have overworked Roomba and she had to take a vacation.

June, happy to see you were a little more peppy yesterday and hope today finds you feeling the same way.

Joan, I am sure it is very tiring to have all of these Home Care folks in your home but glad they are there to assist you and see that you are properly taken care of.  Nothing wrong with taking a little nap.

JaneS, on those hot days you will certainly be thankful to have the A/C fixed.  I think the Freon in my PT Cruiser has leaked again during the winter.  I have had to have a little added the last two years and hesitate to spend the money to actually have it fixed.  Nothing wrong with having dessert first.

Amy, I saw them remove one of the several PICC lines from Stacey and it was a very simple procedure.  I am sure this is another red letter day for your husband to have it removed.

Lloyd, I hope you get some answers from the outside Cardiologist but too bad the appointment is several weeks away.

Gloria, I have been trying to get to bed before 9 pm each night but usually don't get to sleep until after 10 pm.  Just laying down is such a relief.  Most nights I watch a couple of shows from Netflix or Amazon on my iPad before going to sleep.  I am re-watching the old Frazier series for the third time and certainly enjoying them.  I also watch a Forensic Files episode or two each evening as find them quite interesting.  Hope they get your refrigerator fixed.  I know Stacey had to have her apartment refrigerator changed a couple of times for the same problems you are having.

Good Morning,

I have hot water again!    Wish I had a dollar for every teakettle full of boiling water I used between Friday night (when the water heater went out) and yesterday afternoon when a new one was installed.

The installer found scorch marks on the ceiling of the heater closet and "diagnosed" that they were caused by the gas gauge overheating - which probably caused the problem.
However, the tank, gauge and pipes were old enough that replacement was the best choice.

Today is "Granddaughter Emily" Day. She is coming for lunch and then we have some business to take care of.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Gloria, normally I do check before posting, but I was on the IPad and it has "auto" spelling and does it thing, I always seemed to forget this "feature".

Larry, Roomba took a trip into the wifes bedroom and hid under a nightstand, we looked under everything except the night stand. about par for the course.

Sun is out shinning brightly.  Rain (storms) forecast for last night never showed up.

Joanie I know you will be happy to have the tube gone.  And also to have the move over and done with.  I don't envy you in your move.

Anyhow, everyone have a great day.

Good Morning Dear Hearts,

Another full nights sleep, have been up for three hours and my mind and eyes want to go back to sleep again. Oh well…..we do the best we can.

Lloyd, for a man with a constant headache you are sure doing a lot of hard work with that tractor. When are you going to start taking care of yourself ??

Janie, I pray you have a very happy day at W.M. with lots of thankful smiles from those that come to your checkout lane. How long does Annie have to be on the pill ?

Amy, I will have to look up on my computer and find out what a picct line is. Sounds like something that is semi permanent that another needle or instrument hooks in to. But this old lady is always curious about what those letters mean.

Gloria, when I ended up have a queen bed all to myself, I slept all over that bed. and loved it, so that made my adjustment a lot more difficult. I'm doing pretty good now. I am not really conscious of where I'm placed when I go to sleep or when I wake up…my mind just sort of dies during the night…deep sleep for sure.

Bis, I guess the cleaning of the feeding tube is like washing our dirty dishes..it has to be kept nice and clean or it would would clog up. The miracles of modern medicine…wouldn't our Grandparents be amazed. For that matter,I am amazed too.

Larry, thank you for your kind remarks. I am going to make more effort in getting "out" again, or as much as the body allows. I won't be attending many of the things we are offered, but mostly I want to keep up with the walking.

Callie, I am surely enjoying my normal showers again. Those "sponge" baths get one clean, but worn out too. Sometimes we have no choice though so we make do. I have been free of bandages for some time now, but I miss the association with the nurses downstairs that took care of me daily.

Hal, did you get a good report from your doctor yesterday. I hope so. I am really chuckling over Roomba hiding under a table. Guess it got tired of cleaning up after you humans. Does it turn itself off when it hides or does it wear down the batteries? I think you should give it a name of it's own.

I am going to get out of my chair and go take a walk and get the dust blown out of my brain.

HI Sandy, We are have a high of 79 today. I am not looking forward to summer, being on the top floor, it gets extra uncomfortable, and I hate the sound of the A.C.

Sandy I have some food for thought for you. Get some honey from a bee keeper in your area and use plenty of it. that will help your allergy's.

June  I appreciate you as a friend and the advice you give. but in this case is not a tractor it is a Bulldozer I am working on . I most likely not quit until god takes me home . I am not ready to quit I enjoy (Love you) most of you people most of the time. the sun has finely shown its face here. I don't have to worry about a job what i cant think of on my Owen Nancy thinks for me. she bought one of those new junk washing machines  stops up off of the lint and have to high a high priced repair men to fix it for lot of $$$$$.  i refused to pay him so she had me get one of the old seed queen washers left from when I owned the Laundromat, up here and now i have to install it down in the old laundry room to wash my old work clothes and her rugs in.  at least i have several parts and know how to figure it out and fix it. Have a great rest of the day.

Sandy, I my house and in the care facility where I lived in Hemet we had Built in
a/c units that were very quiet. Here they are window units that give both cold and heat. I still don't understand the settings, and they don't give us paperwork so we can learn. If I have a question, I have to call downstairs and they send up a repair man…for everything. Even my computers, as I get my computer connections and t.v. through Rowntree Gardens. I pay separately…not included in my rent…but it is handy, for sure.

Lloyd, I am a bossy old busy-body. I think I want to "mother" everyone. A bulldozer is even more huge and complicated than a tractor, so I worry even more about you.

Janie, two more pills…..I guess you "girls" can tolerate that, but won't it be a treat to have breakfast without delay again ? I just hope the pills are doing the healing we want to have happen.

Nearly time to go down for lunch, so I will be quiet and when I come home it will be nap time. I never have to search for my ZZZZZZZ's. They are always waiting for me in the recliner. I love you all.  :smitten:

Mary Ann, I am glad this font is better for you to see...and me too!!!

Lloyd, I keep meaning to ask you, do you have to put ear tags in your cows ears?  I used to do that but it was just for my information.

Sandy, how do you like your tv now that you have cut the cord with the dish/cable? I am thinking on doing the same but not sure if all the programs we watch will be on the "box"

Gloria, there are times my legs feel like jello so I am sure there is a wee bit of wobble there..lol

June, just that I need to try to get into a exercise program, low impact.  So I am joining a senior center program just up the road from me.  Run by the city, free.  I filled out all the paperwork this morning and it takes 24 hours to process.  But the young lady told me to call early (7:30) in the morning to see if their was room for me.  She said they sometimes fill up.

Larry, I just thought about something, you ask if my GDaughter had basement, no.  They will have to tear out some sheetrock, I think.  But GDaughter said they didn't have to move, not sure how that is going to work out.

Cutting the cord is a very personalizes decision.

I got a lot om my decisions from a website called "grounded reason"
https://www.groundedreason.com/cable-tv-alternatives/

I have chosen to take the minimum service from Sectrum and included is their internet service  ....

I can only get my internet service through them as I live in the city in a building that has 7 floors and 155 apartments  and only one internet provider.

I also stream programs from Roku and through them get
Netflix, Amazon, Showtime, Hulu and cbs all access (plus others)..

I cut my cable cost from over $210 / month down to $62
per month.     I can still pick up the big movie stations like showtime, cinemax, etc etc by paying for them separately.

I tried it and have not regretted letting go.   If and when I do, I can easily upgrade my Spectrum to include all the goodies that I don't have now and never used.

subscribe t the "Grounded Reason" news letter.

You can up grade (or drop)
your services monthly so you control what you are seeing and paying for.

There is a learning curve here.
How I would recommend starting is to
1.  make sure that you have an excellent service provider.

2.subscribe to the cheapest cable for local stations.
(they will try to talk you into getting more than you need
so be strong.     They will take you back in a
minute if you want.

Be brave and research different options.   But start small and add on as needed.

I get my msnbc and cnn though international free website
http://www.livenewschat.eu/politics/

It is awesome and free!

Enough for now
Sandy

June--I barely hear my a/c.  Maybe my hearing isn't so good.

Joan, I bet you will be so happy to have your feeding tube gone!!! One has to be so thankful that the PICC lines saves a lot of pokes with a needle. I watched one lady, that was just about in tears when the nurses tried to find a vein. She ended up getting a PICC line and was all smiles the next time I saw her.

Amy yes I do . i use number and green in color with bold black  numbers .and farley large ones easy to see. you may know but not experience blind in one eye and cant see out of the other as I am. I mowed the yard at the house and part of the shop the side can see from the road so the neighbors cant talk about me too bad. if i thought it would do any good I would go knock a knot on the weather  GUESSER'S head
he is calling for severe thunder storms. he just let the sun shine for a short while today. it has rained day or knight for several days. have a great rest of the day.

Amy, thank you for the info on the picct. It is well written and clear for the average person to understand. I found it interesting that it can be inserted from a week till 12 months.

Hal, I am happy to know that your doctor is recommending an exercise program. I am finding that it is really vital for us to do a regime of exercise.  Once you have learned what the Sr. Center can offer you and you will remember it all, you will be able to it daily at home if needed. Because of my poor blood flow to the legs I spend every morning before I get out of bed massaging my legs and feet. It is easy to do lying on my back and raising the legs rather that bending over to massage. I have resumed the Balance and Mobility classes offered downstairs twice a week, or daily if I added other classes, but I think what I am doing is enough for my age. We really don't need all the accouterments one could buy, just using the body we have been given is sufficient. Good luck Hal, and my kudos to your Dr.

Bis I could barely hear my unit that I had before…it is the one that is in the window that is louder, but I will adapt. Better a little noise than melting in the heat of summer, right ? I know my hearing has diminished with age, but I am going to do without aids as long as possible. So many here have them, and find they are very costly, and give them nothing but dissatisfaction.

Radioman, I'm sorry to hear that happening in Bubbles area. We have a great deal of that cruelty in our big cities. She has such a beautiful area from the pictures you have posted.

Lloyd, thank you, and do be careful. We need you in our group here

Very sad to read the news you have shared with us, DON.  How frightening.  I, too, wonder what is happening in this world?  So many unexplainable things going on.

Today we had doctor appointment.  Bob had his yearly physical, and all is well with him.  I went to the endocrinologist.  My numbers are all fantastic from my blood work, so the doctor was very pleased, HOWEVER she still wants to add different Meds.  Reason is to do with weight gain from insulin.  I am feeling very defeated.  She always wants to add NEW Meds that are extremely expensive and most are not covered by my insurance.  Tomorrow we will find out what the deal is with the new Meds.  Doctor told me she was going to give me a sheet of instructions so I would know what she wants me to do.  Doc heads off to next patient....front desk can not find and list to give me....I left feeling so overwhelmed.  Sometimes I swear I am just not able to deal with things these days!

AMY, I am so happy that your hubby is done with his chemo and was able to get the picc line out.  Bless you both.

JOAN, also good to read that you will be getting the feeding tube removed.  I know you must be very stressed with all the home care and workers getting repairs done AND getting things lined up for your move to Fairhope.  Just take care of yourself.  Hugs.

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day.  It is the last day of school here and our Oldest grandson will be having a program to honor the continuance from elementary to middle school.  Granddaughter has a program just after that then other grandson has his field day.  Tomorrow night we will join them for dinner at their club to honor the little graduation.  Thursday morning they all leave for Disneyland, and we will be keeping their doggie, Lola.  It will be the first time our Smokey and Lola will be together.  We sure hope it goes well.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny

Good morning Everyfriend!  I didn't get in here after work except to say how tired I was.  It was sort of a lost day!  I didn't realize just HOW tired I was.  I didn't do anything for the rest of the day except watch a movie and fall asleep.  I do feel better today.

I'm off to the service place to get my car A/C fixed today.  Depending on how long they think it will take, I'll probably just wait for it there.  There's a nice place to eat right beside the shop so maybe I'll treat myself to breakfast.  Might even bring a great big sticky bun home with me for later.

HURRAH FOR NO MORE TUBE!!!!

We're waiting for Annie's "pill time" and then the doggies can have breakfast.  I think I'll go get dressed for the shop while I wait.  Have a lovely day, Everyfriend.  Make it exactly what you want it to be.

Good morning everyone...

A few chores need to be done today, yard cleaning then grass cutting and then I shall see if the garden till wants to start after sitting all winter.

Yesterday went well but I was so happy to get home.

Joan, doing to happy dance for you..so nice to have that tube gone, one less worry for you!!!

Jane, hope the AC doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Better get a move on here!!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Lots of rain here and some flooding all around.  My house is ok, thank goodness.

I'm scheduled for a root canal tomorrow.  I am so not ready for it but I have a wide spread infection so it must be done.  I really like the endodontist that will be doing it.  Hopefully this will be the only one I have to have done but he has warned me that it will be possible that I will need more.  What will be, will be.

Good Morning Everyone!

Rain missed us again yesterday late evening. The folks South of us got most of it, some places up to 9 inches.  All we got was darkness, high winds.  This morning sun is out and nice and cool.

Joanie happy the tube is going.

Amy hope your tiller starts.  I hope you Canadian gas is better than ours.  If you tried using our gas that had wintered over, forget it, you can hard;u strike a match and get it to burn.

Coffee is ready.  Anyone want to join me?

Hi everyone.  It is another overcast morning with rain expected sometime in the afternoon.  Yesterday we had quite a bit of rain and my gauge has close to 1 1/2 inches showing.  I can see the yard was most appreciative as has really greened up.  I did take Pat to get her x-ray yesterday and fortunately, due to the rain, the Interstate wasn't backed up so it was an easy trip.

Today is the day that both Pat and I have appointments with our Cardiologist.  Unfortunately they could not be scheduled back to back so will take Pat for her appointment and then bring her home and then a little later go back for my appointment.  Fortunately, it is only about a 15 minute drive to the doctor's office.  Tonight is our next to last Wednesday night dinner at the Church and tonight is Italian night, which is always good.  Scott is working this evening so will not be able to attend nor come out to visit but hopefully Jennifer will come and have dinner with me and then come out to the house for a little while.  That will be it for today.

Callie, it sounds like that water heater could have caused a fire if it had not failed.

Hal, I hope you gave Roomba long enough to rest up since she was hiding from you.  Glad to see you are going to get involved with an exercise program and sure hope it is very beneficial for you.  I guess the pipes in your granddaughters home are in the walls.  Hopefully it won't be too much of a mess.  Glad she won't have to move

Sandy, we have been having allergen warning for weeks now but notice the warning as less this morning probably due to the rain.  Glad to see you are happy with your cable service.  I have never heard of "Grounded Reason".

June, glad you are still enjoying your walks.  It sounds like you have lovely grounds and gardens in which to walk.

Lloyd, you remind me so much of my dad who could fix about anything.  Unfortunately it didn't rub off on me.

JaneS, sounds like you will soon have a full-time job just giving the pills to Annie. Did the vet give you encouraging news about Annie?

Amy, when I grew up on the dairy farm we could have only 20 cows as that was the limit of the milking stalls.  Each cow had a name so we didn't need to tag them.  I was always thankful for milking machines but it still was a lot of work and the milk had to be carried up a little incline to the water cooler where it was stored.  My folks sold whole milk for the fat content.  the picc line also avoids a lot of sticks for the patient.

Don, that was a frightening event with the knife wielding assassin.  It seems that no place is free of terror anymore but we can't live our lives in a constant state of fear as that is what our enemies want us to do.

Jenny, sorry you had a stressing doctor's appointment.
It sounds like you are doing well overall.  I sure hope your insurance will cover the cost of your new meds. It sounds like you have a very busy day ahead today but enjoyable as it involves your grandchildren.

Joan, happy that the feeding tube will be gone by the end of the day.  It sounds like a lot of progress on many fronts as you prepare to move.

Phyllis, perhaps the root canal will go very smoothly and you will get that infection healed.  At least what you have can be treated.

Good morning everyone, This is the latest I have slept in a few weeks. At least I do feel more rested this morning. looks like it is misting outside.

JOAN didn't you have to buy a hospital bed? Will that go with you? Glad that feeding tube will be removed. The tech got a lot of ice out of the fridge yesterday. He took the back off the fridge after pulling it from the wall. He cleaned out the drain from the freezer as much as he could and said if it freezes like that again it will have to be replaced. I noticed that part of the fridge where the cabinets cover the sides looked like it never was washed. I got the cleaner and paper towels to clean it and our maintenance man took them from me and washed it. He was here with the tech and he did not have to do that for me. Too bad he isn't the manager here. He is helpful and does things for tenants that he does not have to. The manager would like to fire him and get her brother in for that job. I think the tenants would all fight her on that. I know I will not have a CNA as good as the one that will be leaving Friday. The one I have on Tuesday is OK but a motor mouth.

LARRY  I would rather take a longer route to avoid traffic jams. My daughter and SIL are learning more of their way around where they are in Arizona now. Their neighbors are telling them some of the roads to avoid traffic. Like you I find Forensic files interesting. The fridge sounds quitter when running now. Last night no more ice. On Monday the maintenance got a sink full of ice from it and yesterday the tech got almost as much out of it.

CALLIE  glad you have hot water again.  I remember when I finally lived someplace where I had hot water and no more heating up water for every thing.

HAL  I have Open Office installed  and that is what I use to type in, automatically corrects spelling but at times that messes up too.

JUNE  all I know is that my bedding is hardly disturbed during the night. Like you I dislike the sound of the AC and then having to turn the TV sound up so I can hear it.

AMY  at least you can still walk and stand on your legs without needing something to hold onto.

DON  no matter where one lives or goes to these days is safe anymore. Places we used to walk all the time I would be afraid to drive through these days.

LLOYD  think many of us would like to “knock a knot on the weather GUESSER'S head”

JENNY  at times I would like to take all my meds and throw them away. At least so far my insurance covers all of them.

PHYLLIS  glad you are dry. One thing I do not have to worry about is this building and where my 3 live all are high so safe. I have never had a root canal but heard they are not fun. Hope this will be the only one you need.

HAL 9 inches is way too much rain at one time.

LARRY enjoy the Italian dinner tonight.

Good Wednesday Morning to EVERYFRIEND!

JOAN, good luck getting that tube out!

LARRY, good luck to you and Pat at the cardio doc appointments!  Enjoy that Ltalian dinner!  Sorry Scott can not join in, but hope Jennifer can.

GLORIA....agree, so much....stop all meds...eat well and enjoy!  I had one auntie  that had mini strokes all the time due to high blood pressure....after a period of time, she refused to take the blood pressure pill and she never had high blood pressure again nor any mor TIA's!  Lived on for many more years!

PHYLLIS, I am sorry you have to have the root canal.  I hope it goes well for you.

A exciting day awaits, so I had best get myself ready.

Enjoy the day....EVERYFRIEND!

Jenny, sounds to me like maybe you should be looking for another doctor. I see mine today. She has planned to bring her "tools" and give me a pedicure. Because of my p.a.d. she does not want me to go elsewhere for that work. I glad you hubby got such a good report.

Bis, I am SO happy for you. One more step for continued healing. YAY !

Janie, thank you. It will be a happy day for me. My son Gary will be leading us in Bible Study today. I love that "kid".

Phyllis, I have had about five root canals. Last one was the hardest…I got worn out just with the sitting.

Thanks Hal, but I was awake at five a.m. so have had two cups already, so I had better pass on your offer.

Larry, this will give you a quick peek at our place, or more looking around if you are so inclined.   https://rowntreegardens.org/

Gloria, I took note of how I was laying when I woke up this morning and I was on my back. I think that is how I went to sleep, so perhaps I am sleeping quietly now. I hope.

Time to scoot downstairs for Bible Study.

I beat the rain

I mowed the grass front and back then hubby took me out for lunch .When I came home there was a lot of sweet talking done to the tiller Hal and by the hokey teddy bear it started on about the fourth pull!!The garden is now all tilled and I just love the look of the black velvety soil!

Larry, I too named my animals I hand milked a Jersey by the nail of Pansy...who gave birth to Buttercup.  Now the farmers have to tag all their animals, tags with the UPC codes on them Gov't is slowly squeezing out the small farmer . I miss my home grown chickens ,beef and lamb..

Jenny have a camera ready to take photos of Smokey and Lola. Bet you will get some good ones.

Gloria, that maintenance man sounds like a keeper.glad you have your fridge fixed, hope it stays that way..

Our wonderful (not) internet service was down for a few hours so we left the house and went for coffee in another area just to figure out the future appointments.  My calendar is on this laptop - I need to go back to a plain paper calendar hanging on the fridge!  The doc office forgot (again) to send in a script - so that will take an extra day or more to clear up their confusion.

However, it is fun to be watching the birds gathering twigs for their nests.  We have one huge evergreen in front that hosts a few nests.  The birds all seem to get along like good neighbors.

Don played cribbage here with 3 friends last night and one stayed on after I returned from a quilting group just to chat.  We have such a friendly neighborhood - so fortunate.

Joan:  I must have missed it - when do you move?  Be sure and have the children wrap you carefully - perhaps, in bubble wrap?   8)

Amy:  What was that I heard coming all the way from Canada?  You would have loved the quilting group last night.  My turn in two weeks - we have great treats and lots of fun.

Oh, thank you - I'll take a look at the patterns right now.

I'm too tired to talk or type so will be back tonight to 'splain things.  Nothing serious, just more problems with the sprinkler system & "HOUSE" stuff.  I've chalked up 17 stairs & got cheated with that number, know it was more. :o   Those flights of steps are steep and long so am dragging.  FitBit tells me I have walked about 6,000 steps & 2 & 3/4 miles along with the stairs.   :dogrunning:   :happydance:

Gloria--Yes, I had to buy a hospital bed.  I won't take it--too expensive to ship.  I;ll get another in Alabama.

Removing the feeding tube was a bit more work than I thought it would be.  I went this morning and didn't get home until this afternoon.  I was  really tired, so took a nap.  The dressing has to be changed once or twice a day depending on ho much it weeps.  It's pretty sore, but should heal fast.  I leave for Alabama next Wednesday.

Joan,  sorry that it was more of a problem for you when they removed the feeding tube.  I hope it won't take too long to heal up.

Your big move sure has happened very quickly.  I guess you really had to make that decision pretty fast.  Sometimes, even though that can be hectic,  it is a good thing.  Doesn't give you much time to think about what you are doing.  You know you have to make some quick decisions.  Who will be traveling with you and will you stop overnight?  I hope you will be comfortable traveling.  You know we all will be with you in spirit.   I know once you get settled, you will be happy to be near your family and I know they will be happy to have you close by.  It looks like a very nice place where you are moving to.

Have a good night .

Tisie, you have every right to be weary, you chalked up a bunch of vigorous milage today. I'm tired too…mine is because I gave up my three o'clock appt. as the clinic was full of grumpy old people. Finally saw my Dr. at five thirty.

Bis, I'm sure you were tired after that procedure, and I am happy it is done and you are one step closer to being completely healed. Shipping a hospital bed would probably be as costly as buying a new one…you are wise to leave it behind. Perhaps someone will give a good price for it…..I hope. I am happy to know that Home Care is medical people coming in Bis. Better safe than sorry, and especially now with the removal of the feeding tube. May God grant that all continues to progress so well.

Joy, I have a feeling the transportation the kids have arranged for Bis will have the choice of her lying down or sitting up, so she can rest the way she chooses. Her kids are so loving, they will protect her in every way they can. And there are medications that would make the 10 hours of travel pass more quickly too.

I am tired from all the waiting this afternoon but the staff and doctor all thanked me for easing things up a bit, so it was worth it. I am already in my P.J.s and have a nice supper ready to eat, so I will say an early goodnight and a God Bless you all. I love you much. June

Raining here this morning, just lightly. Yesterday our truck load of cut and split wood came, should be 4 cords to pile. Need to go back into town for hubby to get his blood work done, timing was off for getting it done yesterday. Will pick up my tomato plants too while out.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning everyone, the rain called for yesterday turned into sunshine so spent most of the day outside. Rain in the forecast again today.

JENNY  some meds we take I cannot figure out why we get, others do help. Doctors are  pill happy instead of finding the source of what is really wrong. At least I find that with some I have been to.

JUNE  one thing I cannot do is sleep on my back, mostly on my left side sut on the right side at times. When young I used to sleep on my tummy. I know you enjoyed your Bible study with Gary yesterday.

AMY  I like the aroma of the fresh tilled soil, a clean earth smell. I was kind of hoping to see ice in the freezer again yesterday, this fridge is horrible. The one I had I bought in '78 and it is still running good, left it at my son's when  I moved. The maintenance man here does help those of us here who cannot do things. He does get fed up with some who complain about every little thing.

CAROL  for a while I had appointments in a file on my desktop. I accidentally deleted it and what a time I had trying to get them all again. Now it is back to pen and paper.

SHIRLEY  stairs are the real reason I moved from my son's house, the stairs got to be too much for me.

JOAN  I know shipping furniture out of state is expensive. Wow when you and your family decide to do something you do it fast. Once again you will miss the friends you leave but knowing you it will not be long before you have many new ones and will have family close once again. Joe and Linda are taking wonderful care of you. I know your other daughter would help if she did not live so far. Hope you do not feel as sore from the tube removal today. I pray you have a smooth  trip to Fairhope knowing how you said anything over an hour is a car and you would fly.

JANE  by the time I get off Skype with my daughter I am ready for my jammies and going to bed, really too early though at 6:30pm. My day is finished about then though.

AMY  looks like you have enough wood there for nest winter. Kope it is all dry hard wood.

My DIL will be here this morning to cut my hair, really needs it and will have a nice visit with her.

Good morning, Amy.  It's lightly raining here, too.

Gloria--Good morning.  Linda and Joe sure move fast.  I didn't expect the move to be quite so soon.

The OT will be here in about an hour, then right after the VN--an hour break and the PT.  I bet then I will be ready for a nap.

I hope Everfriend has an enjoyable day.

Well, I remember my name this morning!  I'm pretty sure it's Jane and I seem to have come home to the correct house in my stupor last night.

My car is still and the shop and I'm afraid it's going to be a major "OUCH" to get it back.  The a/c needed a compressor.  I told hime I really don't want to put that kind of money into a car as old as mine.  He said he could look around for a used compressor so that's what he's going to do.

I'm just waiting for someone from the shop to come pick me up and to retrieve my car until he finds a compressor.

I got my new electric water bath canner and it's gorgeous and it's going to save me some space, some time and some electricity.  Now all I have to do is figure out where I'm going to keep it when it's not in use.

It's raining here.  It started sometime during the night and is supposed to continue all day right up to midnight.  That's ok.  Once I get my car back, I'm staying home until I have to pick up TLH after school.

I hope you all have a lovely day!

JaneS I recommend you bite the bullet and put the new one on and tell him to run the vacuum pump a long time both before and after instillation and make sure he puts a new dryer on it before the last vacuuming out.as long as you have a good engine and translation. a thousand or two are cheaper than a new car. If you like what you have stick with it. and better than car payments.
Have a great day.

LLOYD, it's not a matter of "biting the bullet".  I just don't have that kind of money.  But he did find a good used one and it cuts the price in half.  I trust Bucky to do right by me.  We started taking our cars to his father when Bucky was in elementrary school with my son.  He took over the business when his father passed on and he's been doing a good job ever since.  That's probably going on 60 t0 65 years of a family business.

It's still POURING rain here so I'm in for the rest of the day.  A good day to check out the zzzs somewhere.  Rainy days are sure sleepy days!  And it's a good time to catch up!

Hi everyone.  We have a beautiful morning so far with sunny, cooler temperature and less humidity.  However, the clouds are moving in and our area is under a severe thunderstorm warning until early afternoon.  We were under a tornado watch almost all day yesterday but fortunately only had some heavy rain during the afternoon.

I have nothing planned for today so am just going to stay home as far as I know now.  The man I usually pickup and take to coffee has a dental appointment this morning so I won't be going to coffee and plan on skipping the Wisdom Class also.  Pat even fixed her own breakfast this morning.

Yesterday we were both able to see the Cardiologist at the same time which worked out well.  My test results and echo results were mostly good.  She is having me start taking folic Acid and Thiamine and also suggested getting a monthly B-12 shot to try to increase my energy level.  She also ordered a Oximeter one night test to see if my oxygen levels are falling while I am asleep since this is not uncommon with heart failure.  Jennifer joined me for dinner at the Church and then came out and spent a couple of hours with us.

Gloria, it sounds like you have a very nice maintenance man who was happy to help you clean the side of the refrigerator.  Sorry to hear you are losing the CNA that you like.

June, glad your doctor will do the pedicure.  I am very pleased with the Podiatrist (actually his assistant) who trimmed up my toenails and I no longer have sore toes from the nails and am now doubtful that I will need to have the big toenails removed.  I will be going their every three months to keep my toe nails properly trimmed.  Thanks for the link and it looks like you do live in a beautiful community.  So glad you are now close to Gary and his wife but can still live independently.

Amy, it sounds like you have the same type of black rich loam soil that we had on the farm in NW Missouri.  It was a shock to me the first time I came to Georgia and saw the red clay soil.  Now where I live it is a combination of clay and sand and certainly isn't black.  It is a same that family farms are being destroyed by the big corporations.  While I never liked living on the farm I realize it was a great place to grow up and learn responsibility.  I just copied the links you shared and emailed them to Pat so she can check them out. She loves to look at Quilting sites and also has always been interested in recipes.

Carol, I put my appointments on a paper calendar that is always in front of me on my desk, in my online calendar and also in a list I keep in the Google Keep app on my phone and computers so I have quiet access to it when I am out and schedule appointments. You are fortunate to have good neighbors who like to visit.  Do you actually do any quilting when your group gets together?

Shirley, have you ever considered it might be time to slow down a little bit?  My mother used to say she had worked herself to a frazzle and it sounds like that applies to you as well.

Joan, sure glad that feeding tube is a thing of the past and hope the site heals quickly and the soreness soon leaves.

Joy, Pat and I have always made decisions quickly and then carried them out quickly.  We moved to Alaska 6 weeks after accepting the job there.  When we decided to move here to South Carolina we made the decision late Thanksgiving Day, came to South Carolina about a week later and bought our home and were moved before the end of January.  You are so right in saying we all will be traveling with Joan in spirit next Wednesday and will be happy to see that she is safely in her new place.

Jane, sure hope the mechanic will find a used compressor for you.  I understand not wanting to put a lot of money into an older car as I feel the same way about the PT Cruiser.  I hope you get your car back today.

Good Morning my dear, good friends,
Always a treat to come in and find your postings, telling me we are all here and accounted for. God Willing.

I had a restless night..two trips to the little room…that's starting to be an unwanted habit. Then wide awake at four a.m., so the mind will be wanting a long nap somewhere along the way.

Gloria, I would love to awaken to the sound of rain falling, but we seldom get a rain storm again until the winter months. Alas. I never slept on my back till recently. I too was a stomach sleeper till pregnancy arrived on the scene. Then I was side sleepers. Then I fell and bruised my ribs on the left side, so the only thing left was the right side and the back, and the back seems to find the most comfort and reassurance. Age sure does bring changes.

Bis and Jeanne, I never had a doctor make a house call till I moved here. I feel so good about having that service now. I hate leaving the place. All we need is an eye and tooth doctor stationed here, then I would be covered.

Lloyd, glad to see you made it dear friend. I think Hal is going bit slower for a change, and it's about time. We need him well and strong again.

Janie, I'm grateful you have a mechanic that is willing to shop around for a used compressor. So many places out here would not be bothered with anything like that. Sometimes I feel Calif. is like a different country than the rest of the U.S. No "home town feelings" at all. I believe that is why I am so happy here at Rowntree..we are like a little town by ourselves.

Hal, we didn't quite finish Daniel, chapter 11 yesterday, so Gary will finish that and chapter 12 two weeks from now. He played his guitar to open yesterday and we sang four hymns, and then he ran on a bit at one point on todays politicians. Later they were doing photo ops for advertising our place on the Net, so we were asked to sit in for some of that.

Larry, my doctor did a great job on my toenails yesterday. My feet actually feel lighter today. She ordered fresh clippers, and then an elec. emery to smooth things out. My finger and toenails are both very very strong…too thick for my comfort. She wants to do them every other month from no on. I could not have a nail removed. With P.A.D. it would take forever to heal up.

Time to get dressed and get out for a walk. I'm too late for music bingo but that's O.K. I would rather visit with all of you.

The root canal went very well and the infection is slowly going away.  I really like the endodontist that I went to.  A nice man and seems to know his business very well.  He talked me through the whole procedure and described what and why he was doing each step.  I liked that very much and I told him so.  It is always nice when a medical provider treats you like you have a brain.  The downside is when I go back in a couple of weeks he will determine if I need 1 or 2 more root canals done.

Big decisions for you, Joan, but I'm glad that things are going along so quickly and you will be settled near the "kids" very soon.

June we finished up Daniel this morning.  I think you will find chapter 12 a mind blowing experience.  We had quite a discussion on several parts of it.  Fortunately we have a couple of the men who are well read on the bible and they explained some of the terms used which had left me baffled.   We are taking the month of June off since three of our members are going to be out of town most of the month.  One of them is headed to your part of the world, California.  We haven't decided what we are going to tackle next.

I am sorry I haven't been around much today.  The therapists and nurses were all here and in between  I was sorting things I want to take to Alabama.  Some people forget I was very sick for many weeks ans can't do things without resting in between.  Have a good evening, everyfriend.

Joan ,the best thing you can do is listen to your body and rest!!Don't try to do a lot or you will only set yourself back, please don't do that.

Well, the rain gave me a reprieve from piling wood.always another day.I did get a lot of little jobs done when we got back home from town. The timing wasn't right to take hubby's blood so we had to put in time until it could be taken. I bought tomato plants and a box of zucchini plants now to have warmer weather to plant them. Blackflies are horrible this year we need some hot weather to kill them off.

Phyllis, I agree with you whole heartily re being treated by the medical people like we have a brain in our head. Sounds like you have a winner in your Dentist. I'm sure he would explain the need of more root canals if it becomes necessary. Some Drs. appreciate our asking questions, and to me that means a GOOD Doctor.

Hal, my Gary still maintains that he feels the book of Daniel is one of the most knowledgeable…particularly how it relates to what is happening in our world today. The good thing about my two favorite Bible study teachers is that they welcome our questions, and are happy to teach…without bias. I have never cared to study Revelation..I read it all a  long time ago, but it seemed pretty weird to me. Living here, and having actual study, I am planning to dig into Revelation again, and hopefully have one of our guys use it for a class.

Bis, I'm sure most of us here realize that you are swamped by medical issues, and now on top of your healing comes this big move. Just one of these would lay me flat out, and here you are….not even fully recovered…doing two very vital things. Your health and happiness are the main things I pray for you, and with care you are going to reach that goal. Take all the time you need dear one. You are so loved by so many.

Amy, enjoy all you do dear girl…..I had my day in the sun, spring planting was one of my favorite chores, so now I will enjoy reading about how your plants enjoy their new home in your garden. I know you will love it, as I did.

Time for me to fix a light supper….left overs from lunch…tuna salad, broccoli, and some mac and cheese. Hopefully I will get in to say goodnight, but if not, Good Night.

I'm back......My curiosity brought me back to ask,

Amy, I looked up a "cord" of wood on Wikipedia, and the showed a picture of the amount. I think you said you had two cord delivered ?? That is a lotta wood girl !! Do two cord last you through the winter months ? And does it come in proper lengths or do you have to saw it shorter ? Do you use it for heating or cooking or both ? We had a cook stove in Mn. but my Dad had coal delivered, and we had an oil heater in the dining room, where we practically lived in the winter. Bed time my brother and I rushed upstairs and into our beds...no heating in the night time.

Just had to get my questions in so I could fall asleep tonight. Goodnight dear hearts.

I am just thanking god he let you stay with us all for some time to come. just do what you feel like so you stay with us.

Okay, I popped in last night to say Good Night.  No one but Lloyd has shown since than and now I'm here to say....

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I hope you all have a lovely day.  Our temps are going to reach the low 70s today with some clouds to obscure the sun.  Seems like maybe Spring has poked up it's head.  Right now it's about 58º and that's about normal for Spring.

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings your way!

Good morning everyone.

Another drizzly day here... I think we are to have one day of sunshine then rain from Sun to Thur....sure hope the weather guessers are wrong!!

Gloria, I don't blame your maintenance man for being fed up, much nicer to work for those that really appreciate his help like you do.

Larry, your right it is a good way of life, hard work but so rewarding.
Good to hear you had a "mostly" good report from your cardiologist.

June, we had 4 cords of wood delivered..4 face cords. A cord of wood is 4 x4 x 8 ' a face cord is 1/3 of that. We will get another 2-3 truck loads as we burn wood in the house and in the garage/shop. I know one of these times we will have to give it up . I also love cooking off the wood  cookstove in the winter too. We used to buy it in log length and cut and split it ourselves so this is a much easier way of getting it. The man will cut and split to our needed measurements for us too.

Jane, how is Annie doing? Will you have to take her back for more blood work to see what the pills have done?

Carol my daughter in love gave me a recipe to try, she took some of the cheese cakes to her quilting group and they said she can bring them any time!! Good thing about it is you can make and freeze then when you need the cheesecakes bring them out and put the topping on them..easy recipe :)

Phyllis, I have had a root canal and they are no picnic...but necessary.Nice that your Dr explained everything to you.

Good morning Joan, take it easy and rest when you can today..

Where is Shirley? Is she off on another road trip?

Good morning Lloyd, hope your day goes without a breakdown.

Better go get ready for the day..

Enjoy your day everyone..

I've been worrying a bit about Shirley, too.  The last time she was in it was short because she was so tired.  I hope she's OK!

I'll be off to Wally World to greet my public this morning.  I have a 10 to 2 this morning.  It's nice to go in later but it sure screws up the mealtimes around her.

Amy, I still don't know if Annie will be on Med forever or what is happening.  I'm supposed to be hearing from the Vet who did the testing either yesterday (I didn't) or today.

Have to go feed the kids.  They're telling me I'm late!  Have a good day!

Hi everyone.  Our day is getting started off as a beautiful sunny and calm day and we are to get only into the low-80's this afternoon.  As yesterday was I expect today will also be a quiet and restful day.  I haven't checked with Pat yet but we may go out late this afternoon for our main meal for today.  Otherwise, I don't plan to go anywhere today.

June, glad your doctor lightened your feet for you.  I went to a shop and had a pedicure two or three times but the last time she did a number on my toes and they pained me until I saw the Podiatrist and his specialist clipped my nails.  It sounds like you are going to be an advertising star.  June, I also found the study of Revelation to go along with Daniel and have three to four hundred pages related to that Study.

Phyllis, sure glad to see the procedure went well and you are getting better.  Knowing what is being done is something you don't often find.

Hal, I found the study of Daniel to be so interesting and should get out my materials and go through the study again but not sure I have the energy to do it.

Joan, good to see you are taking things slowly and doing a lot of resting in between.  Will one of your children be in the van with you as you make the trip? I certainly second Hal's comments about you taking care of yourself as that is the most important thing.

Amy, Pat said she was familiar with a couple of the sites you listed but not one of them that she is finding interesting.  Piling wood is a hard job.  When I was growing up we had a wood stove for several years as our winter heat source and I used to help my dad cut it and haul and stack it.

Good Morning dear hearts, I'm waiting for my cleaning girl to come in and collect the linens and remake my bed. She is behind time this morning. my regular cleaner will be back from her trip to the Philippines by the end of the month. Her timing was always more accurate.

Amy,thanks for the info on Cords of wood. It was very interesting. If you have to give up that type of heating eventually, what alternative do you have ? I remember we used a kerosene stove in the summer to cut down on the heat.

Larry, I'm going to ask Gary if he could do a study of Revelation after we finish Daniel. I know he will make it more understandable for my old brain, and the brains of others too.

My cleaning lady just arrived and did the bed and linens. She will return later to clean the bathroom then I am set till next week, which will be "deep" cleaning day. Same as today, but there will be vacuuming and dusting.

She has finished so now I will get myself freshened up and dressed for the day.

I've been in Indianapolis since Tuesday and will leave for home Saturday morning.  The wedding will be tonight and I've been with family for pizza and the rehearsal dinner was last night; lots of people.  Family from Canada came in Tuesday night and yesterday we went to Milroy Indiana (home town of Jim).  Right now I am able to catch up on S&F posts and at 12:30 pm I ready for a nap.  I wrote a long post in Norm's B&T in case anyone is interested, but it's more descriptive of my time here than the few words above.

My next post should come from home.

Maybe I do need a keeper!   :o

I put together a loaf of plain white bread in the machine this morning and it just signaled it was done.  I know the weather can affect bread, especially the humidity, and I had adjusted the amount of liquid, I thought to compensate.  But when I just went and turned the loaf out of the bin it was only about an inch thick.  I started to wonder if my machine was getting worn out and suddenly remembered...  I never even got the yeast out of the refrigerator!    :uglystupid2:

Good morning everyone, another day here with a drippy sky. I cannot remember a spring with so many rainy days. Today is the last day for my regular CNA, she has a new job in a nursing home, a 5 minute walk from where she lives, more money and benefits. Cannot blame her. No crazy hours and all the traveling she does now. I just got the schedule for next week. 2 different ones will be here, one I already know. The time will not be OK, mid afternoon is when I seem to have a date with my couch. I know all these home care places are short handed and the one in charge of this one is doing her best. I will talk with here next week and see if she can schedule me back to morning hours.

JOAN  looks like Linda and Joe want you close to them fast so they can keep an eye on you.  Hope you sleep good at night with all that activity all day.

JEANNE LEE  I like my peace and quiet.  When I had my shoulder done I had CNA's every day at first and the OT there 3 times a week. At first I just wanted to be left alone but they all great. The OT and his student made it fun and we laughed a lot. The exercises were more like fun than work.

LLOYD  sorry you had a bad night and could not sleep. I have had too many of those lately.

JANE  wish they had that electric canner way back when I did a lot of canning.

LARRY  I hope I like the new CNA's I will be getting. I am not sloppy so there is not a lot of cleaning to do and I am not demanding. I have had a few here that see what has to be done and just do it, had others who ask about everything. If I have dirty dishes in the sink some will wash them and others will not ask and even leave them there.

JUNE  when I first moved to this town there were a few doctors that made house calls, even one who delivered babies at home.

PHYLLIS  if all medical people would understand that their letting us know what they are doing how much better it makes us feel. Hope you do not need more root canals.

JOAN  DO NOT APOLOGIZE for not posting often. We know you who has been in the hospital so long you would understand you need a rest and often. As long as you come here to even just say hello we know you are OK.

Once again a more that 4 hours later------ Said goodbye to my favorite CNA. Got the list for who will be here next week. One will be here from 2:45 to 4:45pm. Those hours are not good for me. That is my resting time. If she is a good worker and not a motor mouth like the Tuesday one it might not be too bad.

AMY  my daughter's  experimental gardening is doing OK, they have already enjoyed a couple of their zucchini. Her tomato plants have tiny ones showing. She bought Hawaii something tomato plants and after that she read an article that was the one that can tolerate the hot desert sun. A much longer growing season there than where you and I live. Last place I worked one lady made NY style cheesecake and would bring one in when we had a party. So good. I love cheesecake plain or with toppings.

JOAN rest as often as needed.

LLOYD  still raining here. This month we had more rainy days than sunny ones.

LARRY  no one else knows as much as you how much you need to rest. I am finding I have to now every afternoon. Dislike being disturbed when I am resting on the couch, don't sleep, mostly watching something on TV.

MARY ANN  good seeing your post. Looks like you have been busy. Enjoy the wedding.

JEANNE LEE  I could not help laughing about the yeast. How hard was that inch thick loaf of bread? I remember forgetting the sugar in a cake and wondered why it never browned and tasted odd.

JENNY  hope the Tstorms and hail do not happen for you.

Got to tell you, Jeanne Lee, you made my day!  I've had so many of those goofs lately & was feeling really down.... sorry about the bread, but thank you for the giggle.

Gloria, I was gonna come ask you about re-installing PSP but went down to the Vista computer & gave it "one more try"... and it came up like nothing wrong.  Go figure~  So I played with a few photos, resized one of the wisteria that bloomed this year & will put it over in Photos.  The beauty of PSP coming up is it already has things working the way y'all helped years ago, setting up the work space.  I will try the little 12" as soon as I get off this one.  MAYBE it will come up & work, I'd like to take it to CO so I can resize photos while out there.

Should be cleaning the pool, has a lot of cotton from the cottonwood trees & leaves from somewhere that blew in.  At least it is the right color & clean, but can't get over how those birds have been leaving their "messages" all around the pool.  I don't even see any bugs floating on the water to attract them.  Cats laying all around the pool and Hootie Owl bobbling his head... and the birds aren't the least intimidated.

Amy, even with burning coal in our good old iron cook stove it was the warmest and friendliest place in the house. Coffee pot was always toward the back of the stove, and if we were lucky there were goodies up in the warming oven.

Jeanne Lee, I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!! Even though you forgot to add the yeast you were still able to roll  around laughing…good girl !

Gloria, I'm sorry you are losing your nice CNA, but she has every good reason to change to a new job. The squeaky wheel gets the oil Gloria, so just keep on them to give you a morning hours person. You have every right to name the hours that are best for you. I think I would type out a list of what you want done and post it on the cupboard door, and tell the new person "This is what I want you to do." That way they can follow the list and not annoy you with questions and too much talk. Our little town had a doctor like yours too, only we never used him. My Mom was doctor and nurse. This doctor rode a bicycle, with his little black bag hanging from his handlebars.

Tisie, is your pool really used often enough to make it worthwhile for all the work it takes? There is a lot of expense that it entails too. However if it draws the family home it would be worth it, I'm sure…or if you use it yourself daily. Good physical therapy for sure.

I as so worn out after doing a load of laundry this morning it spoiled my whole day with shortness of breath and a tight feeling in my chest. There's not that much actual labor in washing a load of clothes, so I don't know what that was all about, but that is what occurred. I had a light lunch at home, and will have a light supper at home too. Just not up to socializing. I looked through a whole stack of greeting cards that I have received since I moved here. And I just cannot throw them away. They are all so loving and kind…my kids will have to toss them when I'm not here.

June, nobody uses the pool because I don't keep it tuned for human swimming.  I check chlorine level sometimes twice a day & put the floater with chlorine tablets in or out as need be.  Keeps it sparkling... and no, it is not worth the trouble but can't leave it empty or go uncleaned.  I checked with a major company in Wichita at the time (30 years ago) to see what it would take to fill in. Would be very expensive since I'd have to remove wrought iron fence plus the pool fence, crack out concrete bottom so it wouldn't mildew & then the concrete surrounding the pool would be extremely hot and I'd either have to remove all that concrete or put new grass carpet on it because the concrete has cracks.  So I whine about it

Just got through running the vac on the bottom, had the pump running most of the day since we only opened it this week.  I run the pump every 4 days for about 4 hours & then vac... so it isn't as bad as it sounds.  I could pay a pool service to do the job but I need the exercise and pool service would not want to do it MY WAY.  When it is hot I do go sit by the steps & put my feet in..... water is always nice & cool.  It had a heater when we bought the house plus the cover they used to swim all winter.... but we didn't need or want either so got rid of that for storage space.  More than you wanted to know, but I'm sitting & resting.  Hot here today & I have the AC running.

Mary Ann, I still haven't gotten over to Norm's shop to read more about your activities.  Know the bride & groom are pleased you made the effort to attend.  Nice to have a chance to visit with people we haven't seen for a while, huh?   Enjoy!

Jenny, after a while "the kids" will start looking for the other when missing.  I watch old LaurenKat check where Tom & Tiger are before she comes in, if one of them stays out, she will too.  In the RV if something scares them they all 3 huddle together in the space under the foot of the bed.  Walk around space when the slide is out.  Any other time she hisses at them & slaps their face if they dare get in her "space".   ;D   Andy is going to hold off taking Cheyenne in until next Tuesday.  She will think they are going camping because he will have to take the big van so she can get in the side door easier.  I wish I could do it for him, breaking his heart, but it is time.  He will have to lift her in and out makes me cry to think of the day.  I am sending another meal of roast, carrots & potatoes that I froze.... had 2 bowls of it frozen & they enjoyed the other meal together a few days ago.  She can't have anything fried & always enjoyed my roasts, so does he.  His wife is in FL making arrangements for her mother to move to KS. Life sometimes seems to go whacky.

Gloria, wish you could post photos of the area where Regina lives..... you did a long time ago when they first bought the land & had a camper for week ends.  Bet it is entirely different now.  Hope she finds time to paint.  Tell her I re-discovered the fun of using water colors for small landscapes..... using water color paper so if good enough, can mat & frame.  I couldn't find any small pre-cut mats here so ordered some from Amazon.  Big mistake... not good enough to use so will probably donate them to an elementary school for kids to make drawings for Mothers or Dads for Christmas.

Think I have another ice cream bar in the freezer....

I think I'm still recovering from that awful day to and in State College last week.  I can't seem to get rested up.  Also get really tired at work but two people told me today that they like to come through my line because I always have a neat story to share and they can laugh with me.  That's why I'm still working.

I'm off to bed.  Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

A late check in tonight.

We did have a couple of good rains here today, but thankfully no hail.  We managed to get most of our purchased flowers planted, however the two main pots on the back deck are so full of water from all the rains we have had, that we still can not plant in them yet!

Tonight Smokey has show a desire to meet Lola, but the closest they have been is Smokey by the side of the recliner, and Lola on the lap of one of us.  Maybe tomorrow will be the magic day.  I sure hope so.

SHIRLEY, I am so sorry to read that Andy will have to have Cheyenne put down next week.  How heart breaking....I feel so sad for Andy. It will be very hard for him to make that drive.  I loved reading about how your kitties interface with each other.  I have every reason to believe these two will be friends soon....

Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny

Good morning everyone..

Overcast day here but they say no rain :dontknow:

I did manage to get some wood piled before the rain yesterday, then picked rhubarb and did two batches of strawberry rhubarb jam. Today I need to do laundry .

Jeanne Lee, thank you I did have a chuckle over the no yeast bread, I too have been known to leave a key ingredient out.

Joan , good morning, slow and steady wins the race here and you need to rest too. I can't imagine what your going through,it is hard to throw out items you are not sure you may need at your new place.

Gloria, our ground is still cold here and the seeds would only rot if place in the ground. We are to get rain all next week so that won't help with trying to get the garden in.

Mary Ann, have a safe trip home.

June, I agree with you,wood/coal makes for a comfy room but there have been times I have had to open the door in the winter and share some of that heat! :2funny:

Jane, hope you had a sound sleep last night..

Sandy, how is your wrist/arm coming along?

Better get at the laundry..

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The sun is shining here today but we are supposed to get more rain this afternoon.  I have some errands to do so I guess I better whip up the horses and get them moving before the rains come.

I still haven't heard from the Vet about Annie's tests and if they don't call by Tuesday when she goes into get the stitches out, I'm going to call them.  I do not like "limbo" and I need to know what's going on.

Trying to decide if I want to make a trip to the Amish store this morning.  I usually like to go on Monday because it's not so busy but they won't be open this Monday due to the holiday.

I'm beginning to think it might be time for me to hang up my WM name badge and admit I'm getting too old for that kind of job.  But then, I might just see what this week brings.  Last week was on the coattails of a very difficult week and many I'm jumping the gun.  This is what I do all the time.  I'm definitely NOT a decision maker.

But I have made one decision...

It's time to go get dressed and get my day started!  Make yours a good one.

Good MOrning Everyone!

I didn't make it in yesterday, but did read all the post.  My middle daughter came in from Del Rio to celebrate the holiday weekend with us and her sister.  All the ladies of the family from around here had a girls out last night and went out to dinner at the Olive Garden.  Enjoyed by all, so I was told.

Bad weather is predicted for Sunday and Monday and possible rain everyday next week.
But I am not going to hold my breath for rain at my house.

They had the funeral yesterday for the fireman.  What a turn out.  Service was conducted by Archbishop of Catholic church in a Protestant church, big auditorium,
seats about 3000 and it was overflowing.

Amy, as usual you are a busy beaver, you need to take a little r and r yourself.
JaneS, I cant believe you are thinking of really retiring, as busy as you stay with Wally World and other things.

Everyone have a great day.

Hi everyone.  It is another sunny and calm morning but we are headed up to 90 degrees this afternoon.  I slept in later this morning so am getting a slow start to the day.  The only thing on the schedule is we plan to eat out in the late afternoon and then on the way home pick up the online grocery order from Walmart.  Yesterday was just a calm and restful day.

Amy, I sent that site to Pat and sure she will check it out today.

Jenny, your area of the country seems to attract a lot of hail.  I just read a posting from your neighbor Carol saying their homeowner's insurance has gone of $300.

Gloria, I wouldn't like the afternoon hours either for the house cleaner unless it was later in the afternoon.  Of course, it is that time that Pat often naps a bit so that wouldn't work very well either.  I hope you get CNA's who can see what needs to be done and will do it.  I have been trying to rest every afternoon if possible for over 20 years.  I have a feeling that something to do with my still being around.

June, doing the load of washing required you to use your arms quite a bit and that can be tiring, at least it is to me.  Could you get someone who would do the laundry for you so your whole day isn't spoiled on laundry day.

Shirley, after your day cleaning the pool you deserve an ice cream bar.  I hope you found it in your freezer.

JaneS, I bet your customers would miss you if your weren't at your cash register.  I hope you can get rested up soon. If you do decide to hang up your name tag never look back on your decision.  You have worked many years and perhaps it is time to enjoy retirement.

Hal, did the ladies bring you something form Olive Garden?

Good morning Joan.  I hope the sorting and throwing away is going well.

A little humor for today:

JUST WHAT DID THEY EXPECT???????

THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:

1. "On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry.  I don't like spicy food."

2. "They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach.  It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."

3. "We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish."

4. "We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels.  We assumed it would be included in the price."

5. "The beach was too sandy.  We had to clean everything when we returned to our room."

6. "We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."

7. "It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons.  I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time -- this should be banned."

8. "No-one told us there would be fish in the water.  The children were scared."

9. "Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers."

10. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."

11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort.  Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."

12. "It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England.  It took the Americans only three hours to get home.  This seems unfair."

13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."

14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort.'  We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service."

15. "When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there.  The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish.  No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."

16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."

17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."

18. "I was bitten by a mosquito.  The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."

19. "My fiancée and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed.  We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant.  This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."

I hate that when it happens……

These must have been the same group of people who featured in an annual book sent out by the Denali Park's staff regarding visitor's complaints and questions. One visitor wrote to the desk wondering where they locked up the animals at night? Denali is a 9,492 miles or 6,075,029 acres national wilderness.

I especially liked #14, the junior hairdressers as they felt maligned.

Bis, I am so thankful you will be on the move soon. I think you will feel a new freedom just having your kids nearby. I know I feel that way. I don't depend on them any more that is necessary, but just knowing they are close by is a treasure of relaxation in both mind and body.

Amy, the houses my folks rented all had very high ceilings, so it never got to feel too warm. And we never had a thing called "storm" windows. When the snow piled up to cover most of the window, it was cold.

Janie, I agree with you in wanting to know the results of Annie's tests. They should have had the results long before now it seems. Leaving WM is a big decision for you dear girl. Would they give you a leave of absence for a month just to see how it goes? Or be on Stand-by for and emergency to replace a sick employee ? It might make you feel better to talk with the ones in charge before you actually give it up.

Lloyd…take it slow and easy with that machinery. We don't want to hear of another accident. You are too close to retirement to have a bad thing happen.

Larry, The list of complaints was really humorous…I think there really are some people like that. I could hire to have my laundry done…I sure would not burden my kids with that job, and that service is offered here, but I truly don't want to give up…there is so little I do now in the way of work. I notice I have to remind myself to stand straight and pull in my stomach. I'm starting to slouch, with knees bent…BAD habit.

Well the wood is all piled for the cookstove, I just have a few pieces to pile for the stove in the garage/shop. Brought laundry off the line as dark threatening clouds are moving in.

Jeanne Lee, you were brave in telling us what happened with your bread so I might as well confess what happened to my beans. I was doing laundry and in between trips I was getting a pot of baked beans ready. Thing were looking good or so I thought. Came in for a drink of water, checked on the  beans and thought oh my they are pale!!! I forgot to put the molasses in, now they look at taste a lot better!

Going to rest...

Got my errands all done and Cathy stopped by for a visit this afternoon.

JUNE, I know what you mean about having the kids nearby.  My son and one daughter are both about 10 minutes away.  I do not ask for anything that I can manage myself but it's nice to know they're close by.

To all who commented on my remark about hanging up my name tag....I would not do something like that on a whim.  I would give it serious thought before actually doing it.  As for taking a leave of absence...I don't think that would work.  I think it's the continuity that makes it possible for me to continue.  I think, once I would quit, I wouldn't want to go back and maybe I wouldn't be able to do the job.

It's not the summer months that I dread.  It's the bad weather.  I'm not the only one getting old.  My car is aging also and I really don't like the early nights and the late mornings and the bad roads any more.

It's getting on toward time to think about supper.  Annie says she's ready and when she says she's ready, Mickie perks up her ears, too!  They are both watching me now and the will continue to do so until I'm holding food in my hands.  So I better get with it!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Jane, since it's the bad weather you don't like, how about being a fill in for vacations during summer months?  Instead of having a full time job in high school I worked summers and the 10 days of Fair week (made about as much in 10 days as the all summer job at a bakery), and always had a job at a department store over Christmas holidays.... wrapping packages.  I just convinced myself I did not need any more spending money than that!  Since my 3 brothers & 1 sister had jobs during high school, it was expected.  I never had a driving ambition to do anything since what I wanted to do was not acceptable "for nice girls" in my parents eyes.  Time for you to just decide what you want to do with your time & be happy.  I think you would miss the people most of all and would be lonely until or unless you move into a retirement village.  That's just my guess.... only you know what works for you.

Lloyd, I haven't talked to my sister that lives in Warrensburg so will call her now.  I just got off the phone with someone that lives in Lee's Summit ... they had some "gully washers".  No rain here today.  Did have a problem my neighbor caused.  My son had to dig up a sprinkler head a couple days ago, pipe below it had broken & head also broken (thanks to mowers).  Since it costs $80 for a service call plus extra for job... to the sprinkler company, I insisted my son take money for that job & for several other jobs he did that day.

I put red flags around the 2 heads he replaced so MY mowers would be careful & I had just removed them this morning ....  the next door neighbor ran over the one on the corner that joins his yard right after.... sliced the top of the head off!  My other son was visiting today & looked at what the other had done (he had replaced that head less than a month ago).... commented "I thought Andy replaced that head".... we looked & saw the top of the head laying a few feet away, neatly cut off.  The people that lived there before had a nephew mow & he was always doing damage until my husband explained to him that he didn't NEED to drive over our yard to mow theirs, that he was tired of repairing our sprinkler system.

Amy, your beans sound delicious..... I settle for "Bush's Grillin beans" these days.  I have been fixing myself baked potatoes (in the microwave) & corn on the cob (in the microwave).... and whatever kind of meat I find in small containers in the freezer.  I am not using up freezer food fast enough & it overflows.  My stack of wood needs to be hauled away, got bugs in it & wouldn't dare bring it in the house now.  I have a box of the fake wood "in case" the power goes off when it's cold, but haven't used the fireplace for several years so feel the chimney needs to be cleaned.

I always wished I could have kept my gr-mother's "new" wood burning cook stove.  On the back side of the house was 3 rooms, the summer kitchen where she did the canning (& whatever) during the summer.  Next to it was the regular kitchen that had a coal oil or other type liquid oil stove.... yellow & green, remember them?  Across the room was the wood burning stove like you see in all the old western movies.  4 burners you put wood in & the warming oven above.  There was a walk in pantry next to that.  In the next room was the dining room table where everyone ate all the time.  Had a beautiful old walnut hutch that had a cake stand built on one end, with a mirror behind.  Storage below & a shelf above.  Also her "new" wood burning cook stove that was fancy compared with the other one.  I'm pretty sure it was for heat during the winter, and to keep food warm & her coffee pot hot sitting on it.  Always a house full of people.

Good memories but I hated her prune cake that she was famous for in that little town.  We weren't allowed to say we didn't want something, had to eat a little piece & it haunted me until that part was over.  Not sure what all it had in the cake, but my youngest brother had convinced me that the raisins she put in it were "ticks".... anyone that remembers bird dogs that actually went into the woods would have thumb size ticks on them.... ick!   Time to gather cats for one last meal before "Sat night bath time".
  ;)

Good morning everyone..

Tad foggy here this morning
Thankfully the rain held off yesterday and laundry dried on line and wood got piled. I just need to tidy up the mess from the  wood but not today. Today is my day of rest!

Lloyd, I would love to see that stove also please. I remember when I was looking for a cookstove ,a man had one from a hotel. The stove had two oven doors on it ,one in front and another in back of it. Beautiful stove but too big for the area I wanted it for.

Shirley,we were also raised to eat what was put in front of you....to this day I still detest vegetable marrow. I love old stoves but try to get insurance on your home if they are not CSA approved.(Canadian Standards Association)

Larry, I got a chuckle out of your post and past it on for others to have a laugh.

Hall...today is r and r :)

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'll be off to church in a few minutes.  I wish you all could look at these new pants and tell me if they are dark blue or dark purple.  Another customer in the store thought they were blue but in the sun they look purple to me.  That's one of the bad things about living alone.  There's no one to tell you "that doesn't go with that!"

Oh well, I'm an old lday and we're allowed to be "odd".

Enjoy your day!

Good Morning everyone.  well It is 66 º already here and calling for 78 º for the high here it is mostly clear now, we had hard t storms yesterday. 18 20 miles from us they had hail in them large as soft ball and a bit larger. will be glad when this weather settles down. now back to the stove and insurance the premium is higher if you have one or a dozen.  we have a fireplace so that dose it. have two chimneys but they are fire proof I put clay flew liners in them with the brick's back from them but filled the void with cement no air gaps for sparks to fly through to start a fire. you have a great day. thank god for spell checker and a wife smart enough to help make sense out of what i say most of the time. my round oak cook stove has a large copper liner reservoir for water storage and a warmer oven across the top for bread and such and a baking oven down in front with fire space all around it best I know how to explain,. see you later. as I was typing this post. Nancy hollered  come here quick I went out so see what her problem was , she was out on the deck. there was tow possums going slowly across the yard making love .
I got the shot gun and ended that. something has been getting the tomatoes out front when they were mostly ripe.  I figure it was them . Have a great day.

Hi everyone.  It looks like it is going to be another nice day here in South Carolina with only a very low chance of any rain.  It will again get up to around 90 degrees by late afternoon.  We are going to Sunday School and Church this morning and then out to lunch.  Nothing else planned other than watching the end of the PGA golf tourney later this afternoon.  We did go out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's last evening and then stopped to pick up the groceries from the online order.  Unfortunately they didn't have several of the items on our list so it was a very small order.

Patricia, all one can do is shake their heads at some of the comments people say.

June, I admire your determination such as continuing to do your laundry.

Amy, at least you were able to salvage your beans. What is vegetable marrow?

JaneS, good for you in not being afraid you may appear "odd".  That is one of the joys of getting older.  In all likelihood no one will care whether they are purple of black.
Lloyd, glad to see you missed the hail and bad weather.

Shirley, my wife wanted to study to be a nurse after high school but her father wouldn't hear of it.  He didn't want his daughter to see a naked man.  She never mentioned her desire to me until we had been married 10 years.  I told her if that was her desire then she should certainly pursue it.  She did and got an LPN license and worked for 5 years in one of the Kansas City hospitals.  However, her health wouldn't allow her to continue after that as that is very hard work. I have always encouraged her to do whatever she wanted to pursue.  You are having quite a time with your sprinklers.  Funny story about the ticks in the prune cake.

Good morning everyone, yesterday I did not even turn the computer on till 5pm. Let's just say I have had much better days.

SHIRLEY  GLAD YOUR VISTA pc WITH psp WORKING WAS GOOD. Excuse the caps. I ad to reinstall my PSP so often I just put the disk in and installed everything on it. Of course had to set the workspace the way I like it again. Once I put the disk in to repair the program and that worked.

JUNE  come Tuesday I will be on the phone telling them I cannot do afternoons, especially late ones like this. I forgot to cancel the one for Tuesday because I have a dentist appointment . 4 teeth coming out. Good idea but some I have had seem to like asking.  Hope Shirley does not use the pool alone with no one else around. Not safe.

SHIRLEY  looks like Andy is having Cheyenne put to sleep. That is always so sad but better than seeing then suffer. She has started a new painting, an old wagon wheel against an old split rail fence. They have been pretty busy since moving, a lot to do to get the inside of the house the way she wants it, even can see some of her paintings on her walls. Her other half has been clearing brush around the house area. She started what she calls her experimental garden, all in containers. By next year they will have raised beds.

AMY  this week end is usually the one where folks plant their gardens but I do not think either son intends to do that this year.

JANE  you have top be admired for working like you do at WM. I was so glad to turn 65 so I could retire, I felt worn out.

HAL  wish I could have sent some of the too much rain here to you.

LARRY  the lady who does the schedules for the CNA's knows afternoons are not good for me but the story is that they are always short handed. I make appointments for early afternoon and by the time I get home I just stay on the couch for a hour or so. It takes me a long time to get started in mornings now. Thank you for the joke. How can anyone be that stupid? I had to copy  this to share.

PATRICIA  can you picture
Alaska locking up all the animals at night? Did the outsiders think they were visiting a zoo?

Have a good day.

Good afternoon, sun is shinning, weatherman had said rain.  I know the town is happy as they had closed Main St. for sidewalk painting, and the Meth church was having a huge yard sale. Also there was going to be food booths.

Larry thanks for the good laughs
Joan, we are all thinking about your trip along with you.

WE had a coal stove when I was a kid and a kerosene 3 burner in the summer.  I use to have to empty and shake the ashes from the cools in the drive way. I fell in the driveway, when we would be playing and I had back marks on my knees.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Been visiting with my Daughter most of the morning and she just left to go over to my oldest Daughters house to swim in her pool.  My wife and I will be going over shortly to have a family gathering and BBQ.  Storms expected this afternoon or tonight, so they say.  Who knows for sure.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have been reading a book by a FBI hostage negotiator and instructor with their Behavioral and Analysis Center and came upon this little gem that shouldn't be a surprise.

"So what happened in people’s brains when they saw information that contradicted their worldview in a charged political environment? As soon as they recognized the video clips as being in conflict with their worldview, the parts of the brain that handle reason and logic went dormant. The day started good. Went to Services at our Chapel. We had a veteran Gideon worker speak to us today. I knew they did wonderful work, but so much more than I knew about. Went down for a big and delicious lunch, came home, put on relaxing clothes and fell asleep. Can't seem to come alert, so will go back to the recliner and book. Have a great Sunday rest my friends.

Good morning everyone...

A t-storm rolled through with pelting rain. Today we are off to the  city to hubby's cardio Dr..then meeting up with son and daughter in love for lunch.

Larry, vegetable marrow is of the squash family and it has no taste. To make it pleasing to the tongue you have to add flavour to it. NOT my choice of vegetable and I like them all except that!

Everyone have a great day.....need to get a move on here..

Good Morning Everyfriend on this rainy holiday.  There are going to be a lot of wet picnics and campers today!  It's been raining since about 8 last night and is expected to continue all day.  I'm supposed to join my daugher's family but I suspect the cookout will be changed to a "cook-in".  I'm taking baked beans.

My granddaugher and her husband arrived safely from Texas last night and I'll be able to visit with them today.  The rain won't ruin that!

I think the squirrel is back in the attic.  I hope Nate finds the siding he needs to repair the end of the house so we can shut out the squirrel forever.  I don't like squirrels in the attic....or bats in my belfrey!

Enjoy your day...whatever you do with it!

Good morning Amy  JaneS and everyone else that come about.
Amy I take it you  all do not have holiday at your 20 today.
JaneS sorry you are having rain to partly spoil your day.
years ago Nancy and I Lived in a very old house that the varmints had almost taken over. one night we could here rustling around in the attic. was bothering Nancy from going to sleep. she shook me awake and said something is in the attic,go see what it is. so i got up went into the kitchen slid the washing machine over under the attic inlet and a chair over by side it climbed up into the attic with a flash light. and over the aerie where our bed was below was two of the biggest black snakes you ever saw. so i had her git me the 22 riffle and shot them . had her take the lid off of the washer and drooped them into it. she rested good the rest of the night or at least I did.
Hope you all have a great safe holiday.

Good morning everyone, rain for today. 52°.  Not a good morning for the parades. Mother Nature is sure mixed up in her weather this year. Not much going on around here. Had a long phone chat with a nephew I have not seen in more than 60 years.  My sister had moved to Oklahoma and he never made it back here,  now he is a grandpa. We had a lot of laughs.

AMY  like you I like most vegetables but doubt I ever had vegetable marrow.

JANE  I would not like hearing anything running over my head in the attic. Hope you get rid of it fast.

LLOYD  if I saw what you saw in that attic I would have been screaming, I am very afraid of those things. Was scared by one as a child and that fear never left me.

Think I will dress like it is winter today, cold and damp again.
