Merry Monday,

Contractor and helper have already been here to remove base boards and move washer/drier to the garage.  They've gone to get the tile and, when they get it stacked in the garage, today's work will be done....except for grandson (and, apparently girlfriend) coming.
The Big Work will begin on Wednesday instead of tomorrow.   I have reservations at "Moose & Joe's B&B" (#2 son's fur children) for Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Will probably go when the noise starts Wednesday morning.  I'm playing Bridge on Thursday.

Jane,  I agree about the Grands remembering their special times with grandmothers.  Mine are siblings and close in age so I made sure each one had individual time with me doing things they particularly liked to do.
Now that they're young adults,  I feel blessed to have a close relationship with each one.

Gloria,  I've also had to take antibiotics before dental work, as well as before surgery.  Fortunately,  I have rarely had to have either.

Shirley,  the latest Leadville pix on Facebook show Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive with very heavy snow cover.  L-ville was still having mega snowfalls a week or so ago.
I remember seeing tulips blooming through the snow in our flower beds....in June.
Summers are gorgeous but there's a saying that  "Leadville has 11 months of winter and one month of Very Late Fall."

I could use some of that today.  It's very warm and sticky-humid here.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Almost noon, and still raining.  i have a 1:15 eye appointment. wed. Hematology and Friday primary doctor, so goes the week.  The weather report is rain, thunderstorm all week, and not out of the 60's. June is starting out quite cool.

Callie Northport id about 40 miles went of me on the Sound. I am almost on the end of Long Island. Itis closer to the city. My doctor told me to eat yogurt every time I took pill.  I get the one that comes in 4 pkgs. I forgot the name.

Amy too, have had our share of rain.

Jane, I am still of the old school, I have my white shoes and pocketbooks out.  I wore my white jacket to a luncheon last week.

Larry and Joan, we are all thinking about you.

Hi everyone.  It has been a busy morning and just now having the opportunity to make a short post.  Pat had to get some blood tests before an appointment on Wednesday an I went to the Prompt Care doctor in our new medical facility in North Augusta. They could not do the testing needed there and sent me on to the ER where I have spend the rest of the morning.  After an ultrasound and another test they determined it was not something to be concerned about but have referred me to a Urologist.  Pat came on home after dropping me off at the hospital and the came an picked me up.  Needless to say that used my energy supply for today.  We did have a nice rain last evening and I was able to turn my sprinklers off so it didn't water this morning.

I am too tired to make many individual comments.  However, Gloria to set your mouse for one click check this site:  https://www.isunshare.com/windows-10/open-item-by-single-click-or-double-clicks-on-windows-10.html

Be back tomorrow although may be a bit late again as have the Podiatrist appointment in the morning and it is a 30 drive from here.

Shirley

Larry, I worry about you all like family, and still wonder if doctors ever judge our health on normal symptoms or jump to the conclusion that "because" we have one or another other problems, our new symptoms have got to be related to that.  Here's an article I'm convinced should interest everyone over 65.  ;)   https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/aging-and-anemia  Do hope you perk up again real soon.

I did it again, posted some photos over in Photos Then & Now & forgot to get the link.  Got one from my back yard when the restored B-29 named "Doc" did a fly over during the Sundown Parade last Friday evening... start of Wichita River Festival.  I was surprised to even get a shot with the trees blocking so much of the view to downtown now.  Also a link to an article about Doc in a local magazine.  Then a photo of the pool ready for summer & 2 of the sunbathers.  If you notice the black "icky" stuff on the tile of the pool, that happens every time neighbors have their yards sprayed.  With our wind, we get the spray over & I get to scrub it off.

It's been a lovely day here today with the temperature about 70 degrees now.  I sat out on the deck with the cat for a while.  We have at least one, if not more, birds nest on the support for the deck.  The cat cannot reach the support because it sets in from the edges of the deck but he gets very interested when he hears sounds below and he tries to look down the very narrow cracks between the deck boards.  If he sees a bird fly overhead, he perks up but, of course, he can't do anything about them.  He usually is not anxious to go out on the deck unless I go too, but now he is more interested and actually stood at the slider as if asking to go out.  When I opened the slider, he "slid" out!

Callie, we have a restaurant near us, really a sports bar, named for the owner's two dogs - Bud & Stanley.

Mary Ann

Denver

A good Monday HELLO, to all.

Washing clothes, cleaning a couple of carpet areas, and we are nearly worn out for the day.  That in addition of course to the normal stuff....watering and the like.  Our plants are all just beautiful and now I see a sever weather warning come up on my screen, so we might need to scramble and get some covering done of the plants....darn hail can do so much damage.

SHIRLEY, happy to read your son is here already enjoying the mountains.  We have had some of the most spectacular view this year.  A couple f days Mt. Evans was just so pretty...
The snow in the basins was a smooth as could be and the sun just glistened off of it.  We really want to see you, and of course wouldn't you know we have to be in Laramie this coming weekend for a 90th Birthday celebration.  Sure hope you can be here into next week!

LARRY, I am sorry you had such a stressful morning, and now will have to go see the urologist.  I hope it is nothing too serious.

JANE, so pleased to read that your granddaughter will be going to school close to you and can help out with your pets while you go to TX for a visit.  I always smile when you talk about your times with Kiran.  We both are certblessed to be able to spend time with the grands.  They have so much to offer us and we for them.  It is very special time indeed.

CALLIE, best of luck getting your flooring job accomplished ...it will be so nice when it is over and done.

GLORIA de, up until a year or so ago I was the white shoes and purse type also......and then I noticed that I stuck out like a sore thumb.   I say good for you!

AMY, I have so many of those type jobs that I continue to put off.....I am embarrassed to admit.  Truth is, I find it puts me into such a nostalgic mood.....and then I stop and find it so hard to get back t.  My stuff is more family pictures and the like.  There is no one that really cares that much about them, but I can't just give them up.  Congrats to you, getting the job moving forward.

HAL, I love reading about your and Lady's special time together.  My new kitty has become so attentive to me, and I am just SO happy.  He is right here on my lap and just looks and looks at me with such loving eyes.  When I get up he has to go with me no matter where it is....sometimes he follows me, but other times he runs ahead and then stops to look back for me.  He seems more like a dog the way he acts.

PHYLLIS, your kids are probably as safe as can be on a cruise, but anymore it is a huge concern no matter where you are.  It is so pathetic that we have to have this terrible violence all over the world.

GLORIA, it is rather sad that your neighbor are not a bit more aware and caring about each other.  On our cul-de sac of 10 homes, we have pretty much always watched out for anything suspicious..... and sometimes we jump the gun to check things out....but that is better than the alternative.  My son called to tell me that he and the family drove over to RI for lunch one day to a place that was recommended to them.  All I could think at the time is how much I wish I could drive over and visit you.  Right now, neither Bob nor I can remember where he said they went....but clearly it is something close to Boston.

I must run, the dryer is shouting at me.

I, too, and holding good thoughts that Our Joan is feeling better and ready to take on her long drive to Fairhope.

Hey, MARYANN. good to see your post.  I like to hear about special places like your Bud & Stanley's.  How cute.
No check in from JUNE.....I hope she is just busy and will be in later.

Enjoy the rest of your day, EVERYFRIEND.

Good Morning Everyfriend!

No, LLOYD, not a lazy day for me.  And it looks like not for Amy either.  She's off to the city and I'm off to work this morning.  Lots to do before I go.  My cleaning lady called yesterday and rescheduled for this morning due to car trouble.  So I have to get the doggies taken care of, get my shower and get dressed and make the bed and have breakfast before she gets here at 9.

I'm off to do all that stuff!  Make today your best ever!

Hi everyone.  It is an overcast morning and is suppose to be a lot cooler today than the last couple of day.  Not much to write about this morning.  Will have to leave in a little while to go to the podiatrist, who is about 30 minutes away.

Shirley, I expect most people when they have cancer or heart disease (and probably other conditions) immediately wonder if something new is related.  I was relieved to be told my problem showed no signs of cancer and the condition is not serious or anything to worry about. Of course, I don't really worry about much anymore and just take things as they come.  I have recently had blood tests and am not anemic but will read the article you cited.

Mary Ann, it sounds like Kendrick enjoys the warmer weather and being on the deck as much as you do.

Jenny, it sure sound beautiful out your way with the scenery and your own plants.  I sure hope you can avoid further hail this summer.  One of the memories I remember about our last trip to Denver was we drove through a hail storm.  I was glad I had a rental car.  It sounds like you need to have sun glasses with the sun shining on the snow.  As I mentioned above the little problem I have is not serious at all.  Glad you are enjoying your cat so much.

JaneS, it sounds like you will have done a day's work before you get to your job.  Our housekeeper always changes the linens on the bed and remakes it.

Lloyd, hope you enjoy your day in the shop.

Shirley

I couldn't go to sleep last night... until 4:00 am.  Mind was trying to solve all the problems & I was too tired to shut it up.  Going to call the vet to see if there is any kind of "knock out" pill to get for Tom.  Friend in MO says she gets something that makes her cat sleep all day when she drives to TX for the winter months.  Have to be a pill I can hide in hamburger so he'll swallow it without chewing & spitting it out.  Need to get the scales set to weigh him (that's a struggle holding him still long enough to look down & not drop him). I expect the vet will want exact number & one time it was about 18 pounds.

Been hauling stuff to the RV & my house is almost looking clean.  Wish I had time to give the new Rocket a test run but that will wait. If Joan is looking in she will be pulling out the demerit book for Shirley.  (Hi, Joan!)

During those wee hours I wasn't sleeping, I found Rick's recipe for putting in the weather thingy.... THANK YOU, Rick!

Larry, I am the dumb ostrich always wanting a health issue to be something simple & anemia has been a problem on both my parents families & turned out to be mine.  No doctor ever considered I could be anemic the way I moved all the time, but I do recall telling my mother after running home from school one day, that it's like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it trying to get a deep breath".  Many years later when pregnant with my 2nd baby I convinced the doctor to check.  He did, twice & came in with a shocked look on his face saying that I really was anemic!  After trying 8 different types of iron we found one that didn't double me over and had some powdered bone meal that I took at the same time that made it absorb... and the balloon was fixed.  Never had that feeling of not filling my lungs again.  I only take vitamins now & then, works for me.  Sorry, I to get carried away about my doctoring.   :crazy2:  I do need a lot of protein to keep me going.  Glad yours isn't something to worry about.

Hope Every Friend has a terrific Tuesday... (thanks, Callie).  Need to put gas in the RV, was hoping it would go down but didn't.  When putting in 55 gallons even with $1.00 off for 35 of the gallons, can make the billfold gasp.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone!

Gosh, you make me feel guilty.  Everyone so busy and I cant think of a thing that I have to do, except drink a little coffee and enjoy the morning.  I hope everyone's plans work out as you want.

Shirley, I'll bet the vet will have a plan for you.  I used to give my old Germany Shepard some kind of tranquilizer that made him sleepy.  But as you already know, dogs, you just open their mouth and put the pill way back in their throat and then massage it and presto it goes.

We got a 15 minute shower late yesterday afternoon, refreshed the grass and wet things down and that was about it.  Weather guesser now saying no rain in the foreseeable future, summer is here.

Everyone have a great day.

Gloria

Good morning  everyone, I was a sleepy head this morning. Poured last night, could hear the rain beating on the windows. I finally got up and got a blanket to put on the bed to get warm enough to go to sleep. This darn rain and dampness is making me thinking I should go visit my daughter, it is a lot drier in the mountains of Arizona. Just heard on local weather that it will be in the 80's on Sunday.

SHIRLEY  looks like we think the same about “political politeness” I put that up with the one who started shipping our jobs overseas. The Made in America label was good and reliable. You and me with hot weather.

HAL  I will not let myself picture Shirley and sons camping in the cool fresh mountain air. If I did I would be begging to go with her.

AMY  my daughter was telling me yesterday they had to rig up some shade for her tomato plants for the strong sun part of the day.  The sun was curling the leaves. She had checked them before we got on Skype and she said they were looking better. They put a wind shield on a side where her cucumbers are climbing on a trellis, wind had almost destroyed them. They didn't have time

CALLIE  I really dislike even taking a  asprin but these days a feel like a walking pharmacy.
Damp and cool here but by Sunday it will be in the 80's if the weather guesser is right. That would be OK but with it that hot the humidity will be up.

LARRY  thank you.Yesterday was enough to wear anyone out. I hope you can rest and tany well known and  good Italian restaurants. There is a click in this place that only a certain group are in. Sorry, I would never bow down or do any one's bidding to anyone to be in it.

LLOYD  enjoy working in your shop today.ke it easy today.

JENNY  might be your son went to Providence? Not that far from Boston and the area of Federal Hill in Providence has many well known Italian restaurants.

JOAN  if you are heading for Alabama today I pray you have a comfortable trip.   :hugs:

Good Morning,

Who ever heard of a softball game going 17 innings when the usual game is 7 ?!?    That's almost two complete baseball games.
OU finally pulled it out after 5 1/2 hours of playing.  I'm surprised the batter who hit the winning home run had enough energy left to swing the bat.
...and they get to do it all over again tonight because the Finals are the best 2 out of 3 games.

Workmen were quick and neat yesterday.  Messy work begins tomorrow.  I plan to escape as soon as the noise starts.

Echoing Shirley,  I'm wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a Terrific Tuesday.

Well, things are not going as I hoped.  Started off with power out for half an hour or more, actually, the clocks showed quite a bit more so maybe was off again while I was gone to the store & got gas in the RV.  Had lots of clocks to re-set.  :tickedoff:

Called the vet, can't give a prescription without exam & Tom is off in a hidey hole during the heat.  I really don't think it possible for a doctor to take him out of the cage without a fight..... when getting rabies shots they just reach hand with shot needle in & done.  I tried to hold him to get correct weight, brought the scales Cas had when he had to report weight every day because of water..... put it on the hardwood floor, picked Tom off the couch, he doesn't like being held.... and he squirmed so much I couldn't read the numbers on the scales.... digital & eyes not focusing in the near dark room.... how dumb is that?  The scales downstairs is easier to read but we weren't down there.  Gave up & let them all go out.  Will just have to tolerate cleaning up after him this trip & will think about the next one.  Will not "over feed" them today so they are hungry near dark, I will put them in the RV for the night & plan to sleep with them so they don't tear the place apart.  Will come in to shower, wash hair & eat... feed cats some breakfast & have hard boiled eggs & toast for son when he arrives.  Hopefully all goes as planned and we get away before 8:00 am.  I would rather leave as soon as the sun is up... but I lost the battle of time.  Just hope we do get away, would hate to unpack in this heat & humidity!

Joan, safe trip to you, I am loaded with munchies & many types of things to drink, be glad to share.  I have a little over 550 miles to drive tomorrow & son said he saw warnings of "road work starting tomorrow" on one stretch as he drove Sunday night/Monday morning.  With the frig & freezer running on propane at least, if we have to do any waiting, can keep cold drinks coming.  Expect the "kids" will have happy food on hand for you as well.

Gloria, I'll be thinking of you & everyone that loves the mountains and camping, will try to post photos when I get back, not taking a computer this time.

Callie, "popcorn showers" are already showing up, with this heat & humidity could get nasty.  Supposed to be a little cooler tomorrow, hope it stays cloudy to drive.

I know have written in the last two days, but I see no posts from me. My computer must have decided I was too boring to bother with, and I agree with it.

Bis, my dear friend, I wish you a safe and truly enjoyable trip tomorrow. God will be there beside you the whole way and beyond, so just relax in His loving care, and enjoy the scenery, and the company of these two caring men that will be with you. Your next "new life" is about to begin and I just know you are going to be so content. It happened to me and it will happen to you. Hugs dear heart !

Hal, I'm jealous. I wish I had an old loving dog like your Lady. But this old human lady could no longer give a dog the attention and love they all deserve. So I will live with my memories, and your pleasure with what you have.

Tisie, me thinks you are your own worst enemy. You are just one person, but you have taken on the duties of six women. I have one wall clock that is battery operated, one cell phone time piece that needs no resetting, and one oven clock that dies during a power failure. ONE. life is good.  You have a home, and R.V. an auto, a swimming pool that is work and no enjoyment, and a "motherly" urge to take care of anything and anyone that happens to be near you, especially wild cats. And good kids. At my wise ? old age of 92 1/2 years, I miss what you are doing, but down through the years I have had to slowly cut back, sit back, and just enjoy what living is left to me, and let others do what I enjoyed doing. Hugs, girl..I wish you all that is needful. June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

I'm home from work.  It was a good day...lots of smiles!  But I sure am tired.  I'm going to snuggle up with my doggies in my clean house and take a nap...or at least rest.  Tomorrow is another day!

Amy, I checked the link & had a chat with the assistant... until they wanted a credit card.  Since I was told this morning that KS law says cat must be examined, wasn't going to pay for advice if I can't buy OTC.  Thanks, anyway.

Gloria, quick question (this isn't the place for PSP discussion).... when you kept having to install PSP, did you uninstall first?  duh....
I found my CD & would like to get it to work on the 12" laptop with XP.  Not sure I can get it done tonight but always enjoyed being able to resize photos & post while out there.  Thanks!

I am hoping our Bis will make it through in one trip. She is one strong little lady in spite of her health, and the sooner she is settled the sooner she will be able to come back to us. God speed my Bis.

Amy,  what wonderful news that your good man is free from Dr. apts. till Nov. That gives the two of you relaxation and freedom all summer and into the fall. Congratulations and enjoy !

This had been a pleasant day..no sun at all, but summer is just around the corner, and I prefer this coolness. Went to our monthly community members meeting this morning, very well done by our vice president since our president is hospitalized. Had a good lunch of stuffed baked potato. Stuffed with  chili, cheese, onions, olive and chopped tomato and topped with sour cream and chives. Tastes as good as it looks.
Home for a nice short nap, then back down for our balance and mobility class.

Now it is time for some supper at home and another walk outside...or inside hallways, depending on how spunky I feel.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

We had our weekly family gathering at The Score, a sports bar.  The food is good and we love their layout - they have imported beach sand and some palm trees next to a man-made lake.  There were eight of us today.  I had a pulled pork sandwich and as usual, I brought home half of it.  I wish these places would offer sandwiches that consisted of two slices of bread with one or two fillings, but, no, my sandwich was on sourdough buns and had the pulled pork in a sauce on one half and cole slaw on the other half.  It looked very nice, but I can't eat that much.  They also served homemade potato chips which are good and I am still eating those.  I rarely eat chips but when they're homemade, I usually eat those.  A good time was had by all.  I ate the second half of my sandwich for supper tonight.

I must have missed something; I thought Joan was going to make her change last week Wednesday, but was she ill in the midst of everything?
