Not my rain, LLOYD.  I still have it here and it's supposed to hang around for the rest of the day.

My dynamo is here.  So I'll be trying to stay out of the way.

Sorry, LLOYD, I don't have a clue how to do that.  I think we're probably both smart enough to learn if anyone wanted to take the time to teach us.  But there you have it!

Good afternoon, waiting for the nurse.  I have a new cleaning lady coming in at 4 to make my bed and clean the kitchen.  My regular ladies husband in ICU, so she cannot come.  Suppose to be very heavy rain all day today and into tomorrow.

Lary, Amy and Jane, I also like a Chinese buffet.  I like egg drop soup.

Larry, My health Ins. is still taken out of my pension check, from the Lighting Co.  works for me.  Medice and blue cross.

Hi to all my other friends. Have a great day

Lloyd, there is a section called "Photos & More" in here if you scroll down the list of sites under Forum... they deal with Videos.  I visit it often to watch but do not understand how they do it.  First of all, I think you have to have a Vimeo or uTube account.  Then you have to know how to put your video into another type so it can fit their settings (I do not understand how)... One person offered to put it on his site if I could e-mail it to him BUT it was too many GB or whatever to so through e-mail.  That is when I gave up thinking about posting any videos.  Sorry I am no help but figure you need to know it is WAY over my pay scale (a term I hear often).

If you find "Photos" it is my understanding that we are not supposed to post photos any other place but there and then copy the link to put in other Discussions (like this one) to save "space" on the site.  Jeanne Lee knows the rules better than I do so maybe can explain better.  I do not know how all of this works but think it is Pat Scott Halbeck that operates this because we had no place to visit with each other when Senior Net pulled the plug on the old site.  Pat has another place called "Christian Photographers" and somehow set aside a spot for us to meet.  I think it grew from that (anyone else know?)

Sorry I am no help but think I am talking out loud about my fears of losing this place since Pat has health issues, Rae used to help but has been gone quite a while, Joan also not able to keep us in line, but thankfully Jeanne Lee is holding the fort.  Anyone else feeling a little uneasy besides me?

June Drabek

I read all your messages, but the body is telling me to lay down and read.

Tisie, yes,I do feel a bit uneasy about out situation here. Pat and her husband and the ones holding us together at this time. I would be lost without all of you.

I wanted to work but the lawnmower decided on only working till I had the lawn almost cut,so I finished it off with the hand mower. Neighbour said he will take it to the repair shop tomorrow for us.

Supper tonight is pork chops in the slow cooker with mushroom sauce ,new potatoes and fresh picked beans if anyone would like some.

Traffic is a stinker out there, bumper to bumper, glad I am home and just watching them.

Denver

Good evening from a very wet Mile High City.  We need the moisture so I must not complain, however a dark days is never to my liking!

JANE,  I, too, had considered the possibility of our site coming to an end,  but reading the thoughts of others brought it to reality.  😪.  (Same with you, too, SHIRLEY.)  Hope your duo did a good job for you today and that you enjoyed your dinner out.

We have been working on our anniversary pictures and I thought I found a way to post a web site to go to, but it is not what I want just yet.  Still working on it.  The whole lot of them I sent to my dad and my best friend....they loved them, but there are a LOT of pictures still in it.

AMY, sorry the lawn mower decided to konk out before you were finished with the job.  Your supper sounded yummy.  My son fixed a nice meal for all of us to eat tonight also.  He likes to cook and is very good at it.

GLORIA de, I do hope your cleaning person will did a good job for you, and the nurse found you doing well.

GLORIA, I had a aunt and uncle that had chickens and I always loved to gather eggs when I was there.  I was not fond of watch my dinner being readied though!  Still can not believe how that chicken can continue to run around like crazy with it's throat slit!

SANDY, I know you have to be relieved that your granddaughter's are back in the USA safe and sound after what I am sure was a wonderful expiernce for them in Europe.

JEANNE, how nice to read who is responsible for calling these wonderful years, the GOLDEN years!

I spoke to one of my first cousins today and I sure felt low after I hung up, realizing how much worse her memory has become.  She use to be so sharp.  😪

Enjoy your evening EVERYFRIEND.

Jenny, I may join the program where you found the message from Joe some time back, I can't think the name right now..not facebook...but if we should lose our Srs. and Friends most of us would like to still keep our friendship going. I just pray we don't lose what we have.

Time for me to get ready for bed, so I will bid you all a very blessed and peaceful night and a happy tomorrow. I love you all so very much. June

JENNY, I just talked to my youngest granddaughter, the one I call TLH (The Little Hooligan).  She and her mother are in your neck of the woods to attend a wedding on Friday.  Kiran is in the wedding.  They both love Colorado.  I forget where Sarah's cousin lives but it's very near Denver.

I'm off to bed now so I will bid you all GOOD NIGHT and may God bless us, every one.

Good morning everyone.
Cool here 42° ,love this cooler weather with no humidity in it.

Neighbour is coming over to pick up the lawnmower, we may follow him in as we have dog food and  prescriptions to pick up.

That is scary to think this site might come to an end, I know I would miss all my friends here. You have become family to me now.

Better go get ready  ..

Enjoy your day everyone.

AMY, I hope your lawn mower was just tired and isn't going to cost too much to fix.

Make today a good one, Everyfriend!

Gloria

Good morning everyone, well we had rain yesterday, the morning sun lasted about an hour before the clouds moved in. Rained overnight, too. I cannot remember a summer with so much rain and so cool. Only 1 heatwave last month but August is still young. I like the cooler but can do without all the rain.

LARRY  you are so right. Seems like the only times I get away from home lately are for doctor appointments. No worry, the only things I move these days are my pc chair on wheels and my rollator. I take no chances. I even moved the old oil/gas big stove once and even my fridge across the kitchen. Wonder if the things I did when I was young have anything to do with the condition my back is

LLOYD  there are a few hummingbird feeders here and I love watching them. When one finally stops and perches on a branch I love seeing the colors they have. Cannot see it when they are moving.

SHIRLEY  what isn't above a pay scale these days unless you are a millionaire? Pat Scott is who we thank for this site. Oh what a downer it was when SN pulled the plug on all of us. I wish I could afford to send her more donations to keep this site running. This site and my daily chat with my daughter on Skype are what keeps me being at the computer.

JENNY  I still remember way back when I was 5 or 6 my Dad chopped the head off a turkey and it was running around the yard with 2 brothers running to catch it.

JANE  Kiran sure is growing, now a member of a wedding party. Looks like she is outgrowing TLH name.

AMY  when SN kicked us out we were all upset. Most came here when Pat started the site but some never made the change.

Have a great day.

Gloria I am glad you have the humming birds to watch. we need all the joy in our life we can get. I was talking to Hall this morning and he told me about some sea sick med to take care of the dizzy head. I called V A and talked to a nurse, she said they have the medication and she will call the Warrensburg and tell them to call me and tell me where and when to pick up the meds.

Lloyd

Hi everyone. It looks like we are in for another cloudy day with a higher percentage chance of rain throughout the day and evening than for the last couple of days.  The prediction is a high of 81 degrees today and that is most welcome.  Nothing on the schedule for today until this evening when we are going to go to the buffet at Pizza Hut.

I got up at 6:30 this morning and took my shower and shaved and got ready for the day.  Then I laid back down and did my daily reading, including reading the postings in the discussions I follow each day.  About 8 am I finally got up and got busy in the kitchen and have that work done.  Last evening Pat made pancakes and sausage for our evening meal, something we hadn't done for a long time.

Lloyd, those humming birds must keep you busy refilling the feeders.  Pat has only one feeder and it seems that every couple of days it needs refilling.  She has really enjoyed being able to watch them through the window that is in front of her easy chair.  They are certainly aggressive little birds.

deAngel, I hope your new cleaning lady did a good job for you yesterday. The premiums for our health insurance is also taken out just like the taxes and insurance.  Hope you are feeling better today.

Shirley and others, you are right about how we have the Seniors and Friends.  Pat also started the Christian Photographers site and has had and may still have other websites she has managed as well.  Since Pat has been so ill I have also given a lot of thought to how we could continue to have this sight if Pat gets to the point where she can no longer handle it.  We can also contribute to her for the costs involved in maintaining the website.  I think the software we use is free but there is a cost for domain names. I know that money can be put into her PayPal account by simple using her email address and it avoids any problem between our countries currency systems.

Amy, too bad your lawn mower didn't wait until it had finished the lawn to conk out on you.

Jenny, probably the down feeling is normal after having so much fun anticipating and then enjoying your special celebration.  Now you have many wonderful memories for the days ahead.  I had a similar experience as you with your cousin whose memory is failing in that each time I visit with my best friend via Facetime I see more and more the effects of his Parkinson's Disease on his brilliant mind and on his general health.

Gloria, I had to chuckle when I read your comment about wondering if what you had done in the past might have contributed to your back problems.  Glad to see you realize you must not be moving things now and need to just take it easy.  I think it was somewhat difficult to get the word out to everyone  when Pat started these web sites for us.

Good Morning Everyone from the cool and rainy,
rocky coast of Maine!

I got up this morning and proceeded to put Mattress covers on my
Mattress and box spring.     We had a checkup yesterday and my
apartment is A-OK,  but as I live in public housing,  it is always
a concern that critters do not get in.     I am doing good but preparing
to be vigilant  so that critters never get a chance to take up
residence here.

I put Mattress covers on by myself  (full size bed)!!
And what a chore!!     Of course the first one I put on
went on rather easily  (box spring),  when I realized that
I put the mattress cover on the box spring....    DAMN!

So I had to remove it and start all over!   Getting it correct
the second try.     Then I tackled the mattress cover...
Yikes....  You know how mattresses can be difficult to
maneuver!!!    Well I did it, all by my self and I am still
standing.

Now to go take a shower and clean up after that work
out!!!

All is well here !!!    Enjoy your day,  Every One!

Denver

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

We have a bit of sunshine this morning, but most every thing is pretty water logged after our nice day of rain yesterday.

JANE, how exciting for TLH and her mama to be here in Colorado.  The weather is suppose to improve so hopefully it will not be an issue for the wedding.  I wish you were here with them and I would drive where ever to get to see you again.

My feeder has been very busy with a couple of hummers this morning. I have at least one there off and on all day long, but never more than that.  A friend of mine in SW Colorado posted the other day that she had more than 50 of them bombarding her feeders.  I would not want that many, but a few more would be nice.

GLORIA, I agree with you that the cooler weather is nice, but just not so much rain and darkness involved.  The weather watchers are saying that we are having October type weather........😩 I am NOT ready for winter!  I never am!

LLOYD, good luck getting the sea sick Meds...I hope they will help you out!

WOW SANDY, good for you getting that task done alone.

Nothing big on the schedule today, but I must do more than I did yesterday as I was really lazy and lethargic!

Enjoy your day!

I'm here, but ready for recliner and book. I repotted a plant this morning and I think it is smiling in it fresh home. also ordered some arch supports on Amazon,I used to have several pair, but when my problem healed I got rid of them. They have doubled in price since I first bought them.

Sandy, There is no need for a mattress pad on the box springs. I removed my single bed mattress when I needed to put on a bed skirt, and that worked o.k. for me,but I don't think I could handle a double bed size.

If I am awake at two thirty today I plan to go down for our  balance and mobility class. I do a lot of leg and arm exercise and massage for nearly half an hour early in the morning..all done in bed, and I am confident that I am helping my blood circulation ailment.

Time to get out for a stroll downstairs and around the gardens, so will return later.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I'm home from my shift at Wally World and I brought along a realy bargain.  Half gallons and gallons of one of the Lipton teas have $1.50 off coupons on them this week so with that and my discount, I paid 72 cents for a half gallon of Pure Leaf ice tea.  It doesn't have to be refrigerated until it's opened and there's no  expiration date.  I'm not sure if this is nationwide but Pepsi owns this product now.  So I bet it is.

I just finished off the rest of my Chinese dinner and now the next step is to relax.  I wonder how relaxed I'll be able to get?

Sandy, that was quite a chore.  I'm proud of you for getting it done.

Enjoy your day whatever it brings.

Which completely protect  my box spring and mattress from
un wanted critters.   etc.

I have found that when I live in public housing

Janie, I have been reading a very interesting book. It says that we can relax. There is a method. Pick a lovely favorite place, like a lake, or hill top where you can sit and see blue skies and white clouds..any favorite quiet area you have enjoyed. Sit back, relax, picture that place in your minds eye, and be still. It works. I have lowered my blood pressure that way.

I had my walk, talked with others, shopped in our Bargains and Blessing. Found a couple of small bowls I could use and a vase..all for three dollars. Returned a book to the library, gave back a nice clean envelope to the desk lady..I do that once a month and they always thank me. Our rent bill is delivered in an unsealed envelope, and that is what I return. I just cannot destroy even a clean envelope.

Next on my schedule is lunch downstairs. I am going to order a lettuce salad with veggies and ranch dressing. A plain egg omelet, bacon, a slice of sourdough toast,V8 juice, coffee, and for dessert, vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. Sound good ? That's how I get my necessary eggs, and the things I enjoy. They have a standard menu, with two choices of entrees, but If I don't care for either of them, I make my own menu. We are Blessed.

After all that, if I am still awake at 2:45 I will go down for balance and mobility. whew.

Thanks for the info Sandy, I was not aware of safeguards like that. I know in Mn. people had to guard against something called "bedbugs", but have not heard the necessity out in Ca.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

No excuse for not posting earlier, just being lazy. But here I am.

Had a electricity failure earlier this afternoon, power was off for quite a little while, but it is back on and now I have to reset all the clocks.  What a pain.

Really don't have a lot to say, my PT is about over with.  Got two more sessions and that will be it.  Cant say it did everything I wanted it to do, for me or the therapist, but it did help me in some areas.  I will just try going to the seniors center just down the road and use their machines to try to continue my workouts.

It just started to cloud up again, got quite dark out, but no rain.   I heard on the news Houston got some rain like we got.

Anyhow, hope everyone is having a good day.

JaneS

JENNY, my DIL and granddaughter are very near you.  Sarah's cousin is in Englewood.  I wish I were with them so we could visit but that's not my part of the family.  It's my DIL's family and I've never met this part.  They go out to visit about once a year but this trip is pretty special.

JUNE, I didn't need anything to help me relax.  I relaxed right into a nap!

I hope Everyfriend is enjoying the day!

Hal, I'm glad you came in, now we don't have to worry about you. I glad you intend to keep up what your therapist taught you to do.

Janie, you keep your body busy and your conscience clean and clear, so you don't need help relaxing. You are a good girl.

I came home from lunch, fell asleep, but woke up in time to go for exercise class. So I did. Then I spent almost two hours in one of the outdoor gliders reading. Enjoyed that a lot. and got filled up with fresh air as well as the gentle exercise of gliding. I brought half my lunch home so that will be supper along with other goodies in my refrigerator.

Still have a mess of paperwork to clean up on my desk, plus letters to answer, those things that are so easy to close my eyes to. Oh well, the earth keeps turning on its axis in spite of my neglects.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I just put on a fresh pot of coffee and I'm going to sit here on the PWP and see who comes by.

Mornin' Amy.  Don't work too hard in the "weed patch".  There will be more tomorrow for you to attack.  That term is from my dad.  I remember one time when he came in and said to my mother, "I don't know if we have a vegetable garden or a weed patch out there."

Enjoy your day, Everyfriend, whatever it brings.
