Please continue to pray for my granddaughter Natalie and her husband Clint.  They could have gone north to stay with my other daughter (her aunt) who lives in Dallas but they opted to stay in Houston and sit it out.  My daughter here (her mother) has ordered her to check in hourly with a report on their welfare.  I was really hoping to hear they were in Dallas.

Also, I lost a day!  I said earlier that I was going to the chiropractor but that's tomorrow.  I was so tired when Christy and Frankie left that after I made dog food and fed the dogs, I dozed off and on all evening until it was time to go to bed.  And I went to bed and got up this morning thinking it was Monday.  I didn't realize my mistake until it was too late to go to church.  I sure hope God understands!

JOY, I'm so happy to see your post.  I've been missing you for several days!  If you don't have anything to say just say "HI".

Now I'm going to finish the laundry that I have in the washer and dryer and then ...  I don't know what!

Good Morning Everyone!  Although it is already afternoon.
Janie, I hope your family is okay in Houston.  It is a mess there and going to get worst, that blasted hurricanes feeder ban is feeding right over Houston and the rain just keeps falling.  The have helicopters flying in this weather rescuing folks off rooftops.  The Texas coastal communities are devastated but most folks evacuated, excepted dummies like my cousins in Corpus Christi, who rode it out with no bad results, just lost some shingles off their roof.

So far all I have had here is some pretty high gust of wind and about two inches of rain.  Still rainy and windy but nothing serious.  We remain on the back side and Harvey should start moving back toward the coast, if the forecast are right, before too long and then cause Houston more grief.

Lloyd Happy Birthday friend.  Hope you have a good one.  Enjoy!

P.S.  They cancelled church services today out of caution, our forecasters
kept changing the forecast for wind and rain and the rain did pickup some but nothing like some were predicting, thank goodness.  I do have a front yard full of leaves from the wind blowing them off my Red Oak.  But better than a big limb.

I'm here, but tired. Skipping Church and resting.

Lloyd, I wish you a very happy Birthday and a nealthy year to come.

Has hoped to hear from Hal, but the t.v. looks like he is safe now....I hope. I'm home for the day. Very tired.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Last Report from Houston...they are still ok and they do have somewhere to go that they can get to quickly if their street begins to flood.  Keep praying for them

Shirley

Ahoy, Callie, been wondering what happened to you, too......  "someday"....... that day is always kinda iffy........I'm going to drive to OK close enough you can come find me (I am always lost).  Could we do that?

June, we need to get you some "pep" pills, remember when everyone talked about them?  Think it was back in the '60s when so many of my friends were given them by the doctors & figured out that they were addictive & needed "downers" to sleep.  I was given digitalis for my rapid heart (at one point over 200 beats per min for several days).... it was a type of speed but on someone like me, worked in reverse.  It slowed down the beat but after a month I was telling someone that "I could clean the ceiling & floor at the same time & do it 24 house a day". That was when the lady explained to me that I needed to get a script for downers.  Weaned myself off of them & me & my speedy heart beat on.  Do hope you can find something to make the days better, we need your sweet words in here.

Just about everyone I know has family or friends in TX.... and worry about this terrible mess they are dealing with.  Prayers that all of your loved ones are safe and can deal with what they are going through.  I heading out for a bucket of KFC.  Have a Super Sunday!!!

Thanks for the update, Jane...

Tisie, thank you for caring..I appreciate you.

Janie, many prayers for your Texas loved ones.....so many unknowns down there that are in need, it is unbelievable what these storms have destroyed, and how inspiring it is how strangers have been welcomed by others...even using their hallways for those that need a dry place to sleep. May
God Bless them greatly.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

Thank you, JUNE.  I'm going to leave Natalie and Clint in God's hands and go to bed.  I'm sure he will take care of them.

And may God bless each and every one of you, my friends.

Happy Birthday, Joan.   Hope you have a good day.

Just want to say Good Morning.  Beautiful sunny morning here in Central Maryland.  Still a little chilly, tho.

I have a busy week, so, I guess I better start planning my days.   I sit around here most of the time with not a whole lot to do, and then everything starts coming at one time.

Have a nice Monday !!!

Joy

Jane,  you sneaked in on me.  Hope you will get some news from your Texas family.  The devastation down there is difficult to watch.  Just wanted to say
good morning to  you.

Good Morning everyone. 61º and mostly clear here shooting for mid 70's º
we Had a great day two family's of Kin showed up. Nancy had a good feed fixed. I ate plenty but not piggish, so never gained but never lost any yesterday. hope you all had a great day.

Lloyd

Gloria

Good morning everyone, hard to believe I am here early for a change. Another night with the temperature in the low 50's and so great for sleeping.

LARRY  the Tens was ordered by the PT gal and it is coming from a hospital. The hospital called Friday and said they will be shipping it, a home machine. I am hoping it will be here by tomorrow when PT will be here again. Looks like my daughters neighbors have luck with different things in their gardens so they share. I  am happpy that they really are enjoying their new life even if they are so far out from town.

LLOYD  hope you had a great day yesterday and enjoyed a bit of all that food.

JOY good seeing you this morning. Like you my get up and go got up and went.

SHIRLEY  they have a sturdy anchored frame that they put the shade cloth over and then covered that with chicken wire to hold it in place. My SIL is good at the "what if". He was never a boy scout but believes in being prepared. They have some solar panels up and have more to do, One neighbor offered to help because that is what he did before he retired. They also have a windmill to install. Never a calm wind it seems.

GLORIA de  I have not been in a market in more than 2 years and I miss it. My CNA's can shop for me, my son always calls before he comes and asks if I need anything and I order from PeaPod about every 6 weeks and Swanns when I have room in the freezer.

JANE  I thought it odd a chiropractor would work on a Sunday. Glad you realized it before you made the trp

HAL  good seeing your post and knowing you are OK there.

JUNE  take it easy and do only what you feel like doing.

SHIRLEY  I remember when pep pills were the pill of the day. I think they would be wasted on  me because if I had any pep my back would stop me and that would be worse.

AMY  the peaches my son picked were freestone, first ones I have seen in years. I would hate to can the other peaches and messing the fruit trying to get it off the pit. Early Cortland apples should be ready around here and in another week or 2 the Macs would be ready. I am going to miss the first taste of one again this year unless my son goes and picks some. Those caterpillars sure decimated his trees.

I am bad, I knew it was JOAN'S birthday and I did not wish her one yesterday. Now I feel terrible about that.

Hi everyone. It looks like we should have a delightful day with it only getting into the mid-80's today.  I have nothing on the calendar for today so will use it as a slow and restful day. I am feeling pretty weary today and guess I need a day or recovery from our busy Sunday morning.

I enjoyed watching the golf yesterday and it turned out to be a very close finish requiring the extra hole to be played.  The news is showing the incredible damage that the storm is causing in Houston and other areas.  So many lives impacted and the economic loss is unbelievable and still the rain is falling. I know there are many others communities in Texas and Louisiana that also have devastating damage.

Joy, certainly good to see your posting and know you are OK.

Shirley, do you always go to McDonald's after church with family?  That sounds like an interesting notebook with a glimpse of the past.

deAngel, shocking that you have had to wait such a long time for a STAT appointment.

Jane, sure hope your granddaughter doesn't lose her home and glad to see they have somewhere to go if needed that would be safe and is accessible to them.  I wondered about the chiropractor working on Sunday but knew it was possible.

Hal, good to see that you are still OK there in San Antonio.

Joan, Happy Birthday.

I have not tried to respond to everyone today as my mind doesn't seem to be functioning very well.

JaneS

Just had a text from my daughter....the kids are still OK.  Keep praying for them.  Thanks!

Good Morning Everyone!

All is well here.  Cloudy here this morning, but had some sunshine yesterday afternoon.

Happy Birthday Joanie, hope you get back with us soon, we miss you.

Not a lot going on here.  Went over to Granddaughters home for supper last night.  Had stew, hit the spot with this nice cool weather.  One thing good about hurricanes, it is almost downright cold for us here in Texas.

JaneS, happy your family is doing okay.  Houston is still catching it this morning from wheat I can see.  Harvey is moving back to the coast and of course the warm waters are refueling it.   It is not over by any means.

Larry, Mary Ann, that was a great golf match yesterday.  Speith just got the yips on his putting.  Lloyd, golf is a game where the players may compare scores but they are always playing against the course.  Think of it this way.  Baseball players think they have done something if the get a home run if they hit a ball three hundred feet, golf players routinely hit a ball 900 feet. Gives you a little better prospective.  And they routinely hit that ball 900 feet with accuracy.

Everyone have a great day.

I'm usually over in the Library where the conversational exchanges are more about what I do......read, read, read, read.   :)

Unfortunately,  my driving to "meet and greet" days are over - unless it's somewhere along I-35 between Waterloo and Memorial.
I think you once mentioned wanting to see the crystals at the Salt Plains in northern Oklahoma.  This link was in the most recent issue of "Mistletoe Leaves",  the OK History publication.

#2 granddaughter is in the process of moving to Overland Park KS to begin her Doctor of Chiropractic studies.  I thought she and her Mom were going up yesterday and texted her a "Goodbye and Good Luck" message.  She replied that they are going today.  So I asked if I could just text "Ditto" this morning....and she agreed.

So - in response to all the cares and concerns posts here re: the hurricane, health issues, etc. -  I will just say,
"Ditto" and wish Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.
