Another lovely day.....went out for lunch then home to sew......just about have the quilt done. Needs binding yet too.

Jane , glad you like the mustard, I don't care for store bought mustard either. I have stuffed chicken breasts, scalloped potatoes ,maple glazed carrots and apple pie in the oven...just grated the cabbage for cole slaw and that is supper. Will put some in the hidey hole as I cook way too much.

Mary Ann, the thing I cant figure out is that I was very sore right after I fell but it cleared up and then yesterday it all started coming back, the lower back is better but my shoulder is worst.  It even hurts when I cough.  The doctor examined me and found nothing wrong.  He did give me some super Tylenol but I haven't taken any, guess I could.  I may when I go to bed.  I see my primary care doctor tomorrow morning and I will talk to him.

Mary Ann

Hal, my trouble started when I noticed a pain going across my upper back, then settling in the right shoulder.  When I went to the orthopedic doctor, he told me x-rays showed a lot of arthritis and a weak rotator cuff and at my age (90 at the time) he did not recommend surgery.  He suggested cortisone shots every four or five months.  That didn't do it at all.  After maybe three months, I went back to get another shot and the PA said I should get a shot every other month.  That didn't do it either.  I had an appointment with my regular doctor for a forgotten reason and I mentioned my experience with my shoulder and he suggested I take Arthritis 650 which is not as strong as your super Tylenol but I started taking that and it helps.  I am never totally without pain and, like you, when I cough (and/or sneeze) my shoulder hurts.  The Arthritis 650 (mine is store brand) is like the Tylenol 650 and is OTC.  You should not take more than six tablets a day because of possible liver damage.  I take four a day - two in the morning, two at night.  I am limited with my right arm as to how far I can reach.  I have to use my left hand and arm to do many things.  You might have a full recovery since your pain was caused by a fall rather than arthritis.

More than anyone wanted to know.

Mary Ann

well it has been a good day.took in a birthday party. g gd turned seven. then stopped by some lifetime friends for a visit.home and very tired. think I will do a early good night. hope to see you all tomorrow. sweet dreams.

June Drabek

The cat got tired of dragging me around so I finally found my own way in..better late than never, I guess.  I woke up SO tired, I stayed in bed till 11 a.m. Finally dragged myself out of bed and into the shower, and that helped a lot. Not enough, as I missed Church again!!!I have lost track of how many Sundays I have missed...my check book says four Sundays. God forgive me.

Hal, I am so sorry you are suffering all that pain. When I fell and hurt my rib I ordered extra strength tylenol and it did help a lot. Years ago a surgical nurse at  Loma Linda scolded me for not using more pain killer. She said we cannot heal properly if we endure too much pain. So do help yourself to heal.

Time to fix up a light supper and get ready for bed. I wast tomorrow to be a GOOD day...for all of us. God Bless you my dear ones, I love you bushels and pecks. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

Today was a pretty good day for me.  It was a "do-nothin" day but I enjoyed it.  I did a few things in the kitchen, puttered on the computer, watched "OUTLANDER" on TV and now I'm here to say Good Night.

A very good thing happened today.  My good neighbor across the street called to ask if anyone was going to trim my (very large overgrown) hedges next to my driveway.  I told him I'm looking for someone to do it and asked if he knew someone.  He said, yes he did and added that he would do it himself this week.  This offer did not come because the hedges were an annoyance to him.  I'm the last house on my side of the street and they are overgrowing into my own yard.  It was just kindness and neighborliness that brought it on.  He's a good guy!

And now, Good night Everyfriend.  Sleep peacefully and may God bless us, every one.

June and Mary Ann, took two of the tylenols and fixin to hit the hay.  Hopefully I will get some rest.

We went to my Granddaughters for a family supper, she fixed taco's with all the trimmings and re-fried beans, rice, cheese, warm tortilla's and of course three or four kinds of salsa's and pico.   All good stuff.  It ruined my appetite.

Jun if it makes you feel any better, I didn't make church this morning.  But I send in my offering just once a month, for the whole month.  My wife went for both of us.

Good Night, God Bless and Sweet Dreams.

Lloyd Hammond

hall the fist problem with that good supper you described is I was not there enjoying it with you. second is it adds fat to belle. just like the birthday dinner we went to yesterday. dose nothing to loose weight as we both need to do. I was doing pretty good until I let our daughter take us out that Chinese restraint for my birthday dinner. put twelve pounds of the twenty I had lost back on. for about three weeks now I am holding same but not loosing. I have been told I need to get off the couch get out and work hard, something about exercise. someone said talk Nancy in to getting out of the kitchen and walk at least a mile up the road and back. that doesn't sound good to me. watching a good western is better.

Lloyd

JaneS

Well, I'm up and attem early this morning.  I slept well last night and I'm wondering if it's due to the small glass of white wine I drank around 9 p.m.  I might have to test that theory again tonight.  What do you think?

We're waiting out Annie's pill and I'm going to go in and get dressed and make the bed because my dynamo comes this morning to shine things up.  I don't mind being caught at the computer but I don't want to be in my jammies, too.

HAL, I sure hope you get up feeling better after a good night's sleep.  Taking the Tylenol was a good thing.  It's should ease the pain so you can get to sleep.

I'm already having my first cup of coffee.  Verna already had the pot going when I got here so I'm indulging.  Make today a good one, Everyfriend!

JaneS good Morning to you and all else that follows, I have already had my vinegar water and honey Mix and my morning meds. coffee smells good to me but one sip of it upsets my stomach. and it is not good to get cought in James's. Have a great day. and if that neighbor is single , let the rest of the neighbors talk. if he is not maybe you should have his wife join you on the porch having coffee watching him work.

Lloyd

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion, LLOYD but my neighbor is young enough to be my son.  In fact, I think he's about 2 years younger than my son and he has a lovely wife who is also a good neighbor.

I'm still not ready to meet the public so I'm off to get dressed and establish my place out of the way of the dynamo.

Good Morning Everyone!
Lloyd, I only ate on portion and not all of that.  About three quarters of the taco and left some of the rest of the fixings.  I am down to 220 when I weighed at the ER he other day.  I will find out what my doctors office weighs me in at this morning.

Janie, the Tylonol did help me last night.  I slept pretty good last night, for me.  Only up a couple of times and slept until 6 and then lay there until 7 and got up put on coffee, let the pup out to take care of business and now here I am.

Amy I sure know where I am going to hang out this winter when I want some good home fixings.  The ladies of this forum do more home canning than anyone I know now days.  Most ladies don't know the first thing about that, or so it seems.

Got to get a move on, 9:30 apmt and I have to get myself all pretty.....LOL   :2funny:

Gloria

Good morning everyone, just heard something unusual from the next town from here. An alligator was found near a pond that is a popular swimming place. Looked about 4 feet long from the picture they showed. They did capture it and take it away. First time I have heard of one found here this far north.
We have had about 6 new tenants move in here in less that a month. Looks like someone brought some unwanted critters along. Wednesday there will be exterminators here to get rid of roaches. I feel like I am crawling. I am checking everything. I am afraid to use anything in open packages so will toss every thing out. Just found the notice under my door this morning. Don't know if I would know one if I saw it, hate bugs especially in a house.

GLORIA de  the beaches here are about half what they used to be with the erosion the last couple of hurricanes.
Some people are so stupid. On the news they have been telling people to stay off the rocks and ledges along the shore. They go to see the high waves. A few were washed off andinto the ocean. The rescuers did get them out but put their lives in danger doing it. They had to use stretchers to get a few of them to safety.

CNA is here, have to go.

Hi everyone. It is another beautiful morning with no chance of rain today.  We are to get only into the mid-80's.  My calendar is clear for today.  We may go to the shoe store so Pat can get a new pair of shoes.

I did go to Sunday School and Church yesterday but didn't bring home lunch as Pat said it hadn't been very long since she had breakfast and I knew we had plenty here to make a sandwich. Last evening we did go to the Dairy Queen and had our meal out for Sunday. I watched very little football and no golf yesterday as just wasn't in the mood.  I guess it just wasn't a sports weekend for me.

Joy, hope you got to see the new little baby boy.  I love to see the little ones.  I have a great grandchild that is now starting school and I have never seen him in person but have gotten a lot of pictures from his father.

Jane, I can't image having to live in a refugee camp.  That must have been an interesting talk. You do have a caring neighbor.  My new neighbor across the street has offered to help me if I need it.  He is only in his mid-30's.

Carol, it does take a lot of time to keep up with the electronics we have in our homes. I am thankful to have access to my son who is pretty much a whiz on these type of things.

Gloria, it sounds like the wind and rain will increase in intensity for your area the next two or three days.  I hope your area doesn't lose power.  It is my understanding that the marijuana used for medical purposes doesn't have the problems that the other type does.  If I were in pain and that was prescribed by my doctor I would use it.  I really don't know what the laws about medical usage is here in South Carolina or in Georgia.  Most of our doctors and the hospital are located over the river in Georgia.

deAngel, do any of your grocery stores offer the online shopping?  We love this service and have used it numerous times. Pat makes up the order and the next day and I simply drive to the designated area outside the store and call and they bring out the grocery order and load into the truck of the car. It is so much better than having to walk those long isles.

Amy, that was quite a supper you prepared yesterday.  It sure sounds good.

Hal, glad to see you took the Tylenol as they weren't going to give you much relief in the bottle.  Sure hope you are feeling better today.

Lloyd, it sounds like you had a great day yesterday.  Turning seven is a nice age and being able to visit with friends is always a nice way to spend time.

June, I bet God understand why you were not in Church.  We can only do what we are able to do. My cardiologist told me years ago that it is bad on our heart to be in a lot of pain and that medication should be taken.  Hope you are feeling more chipper today.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,
from the  from the cool and damp,
rocky coast of  Maine.

Looks like more rainy weather is headed
in our direction from some of the worn out old
hurricanes that are headed North,  then East.

Luckily they seem to loose all their steam
as they head into the North East!
(Good,   Good,  Good)

We can doo without damaging hurricanes,
that seem to be around and about this
Summer ... ( headed into Fall)
I hope that they all blow out before they make
it up here to Maine.

Last night I watched the Night Time Emmy's ..
I found it interesting this year,  because I have
been watching more and more Prime Time
Series... so I was familiar with many of the
people that received the awards.

I  am sorry for anyone who is suffering
from "whatever"  reason  and I hope that
you all will heal soon.

Have a good day,  Everyone.
Sandy

Hal, I'm glad you took your Tylenol and it seems to have helped you sleep mostly through the night.

Gloria, you mentioned roaches being brought into your building; we/I have been infested by fleas.  Obviously they came in with the cat, who for all intents and purposes is an inside cat.  In the two years he's been here, he probably has been outside a dozen times and then right by the front door.  But I have been bitten a lot in the last week.  Tom and Annie washed everything  and sprayed my bedroom and I had three new bites last night.  We had a dog when Norm was young and she was an outdoor dog.  I never got bit once by fleas and she lived for 10 years.  The cat doesn't seem to be affected by fleas, but I sure am!  I have some big spots where I have been bitten.  I am using cortisone cream right now until the tubes are empty, then I have some Gold Bond and Nisporin, all anti-itch.  I don't itch too much, but it takes a long time to put cream on the spots and I can't reach some of them.  We'll make it!

Hal, that taco meal you had and loved would turn me off.  I am not a taco fan.  I am a meat-and-potatoes person.

Mary Ann

Amy

There is a lot of "dones" here.. two batches of jam done, mashed peaches for the freezer done and peace slices to freeze done and grass cutting done.

This weather is so nice......except for the hornets :(  We have the a/c on again today. Hubby had his blood work done then we met up with friends at Timmies for  tea.

Hal, hope the Dr came up with some relief for your pain. How about Hal, we meet at Janies, I know from Taste that she has some great goodies there. I will gather up a bunch of mine and see you there :

Gloria, people just don't listen or think that it will happen to them.  Can't fix stupid I guess???

Gosh time flies, time to think about what to have for supper now...............hmmm......leftovers  :P

If you are meeting at my house and there's going to be a crowd, it'll have to be a picnic.  Otherwise, we'll be sitting on each other's laps.  I can borrow plenty of chairs but space is limited.  Of course, I'd love to have all of you show up!  Wouldn't that be great!

My dear hearts, I have been very neglectful of you dear, caring friends today, and I apologize. I was up and out and about. Had lunch with our retired Chaplain and has wife, had a quiet time in the Chapel, and enjoyed that tremendously. a nap after lunch, and now ready to close down for the day and get ready for an early bedtime.

Hal, I'm glad the extra tylenol gave you a better sleep, so don't hesitate to use it when it is needed. I think I was using about six a day when the pain was really bad, and it did help in the healing.

Larry,Thank you for your kind words. I too feel God knows when we cannot or should not be in Church. I think we all keep Him very close in our daily living and prayer lives.

Gloria, maybe the hurricane washed that Alligator up the coastline to your area. I'm sure the alligator was as surprised as the the humans that saw it.

Time to  turn off my brain and get ready to settle in for the night. I hope to attend a program tomorrow at 10 a.m. We will be introduced to three new major employees at a Coffee Klatch. I would hate to miss it.

Sleep well my beloved friends as God keep loving watch. June

June, very happy you were a busy lady today and had an enjoyable day.  I was also kinda busy, I had an apmt with my primary care doctor who looked at my bo-bo and we talked a little and he finally told me he would like to hand me over to another doctor, one who specializes in geriatric care. wonder if he is telling me I am an old rascal.  Anyhow I have met this new doctor once before.  Last fall when I got a bad cold and some lung problems.

So back to him on Thursday morning and then on Friday my back procedure, when they kill the nerves, or try.  Seems I have some kind of apmt every week for a while now.  What was it someone said the other day, the golden years, not ours, the doctors making all that gold....LOL.

Anyhow, I am off to bed.  Good nite, Sweetdreams and God Bless

Amy

Good morning everyone..

Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I can see a cat nap in my future today :coolsmiley:

Need to put away the jam today, anxious to taste the peach pineapple one. The grass trimming should be done today and a few other chores that have been neglected.

June, happy to read your up and running on all cylinders   Sure sounds like a great day you enjoyed.

Gloria, I can't help but wonder of all the other animals that got misplaced from the storms.

Jane, have a wonderful day at work with lots of happy customers through your till.

Enjoy your day everyone..

I'm up, have my first cup of coffee, the doggies have been out and we're waiting out Annie's pill.  We're having nights in the low 60s and days in the low 80s.  Not so bad for mid-September.

My neighbor mentioned Indian Summer yesterday but we can't have Indian Summer until we have a frost and we have NOT had a frost.  Indian Summer usually comes sometime in October and so does the first frost.  I really LOVE Indian Summer but it just means that Winter is that much closer and I really don't like Winter any more.

Amy, I nevr really cared for peach preserves but when you mentioned peach/pineapple, my mouth watered.  That sounds delicious!

JUNE, I wish you anothr perfect day with no flat tires!

HAL, good luch at the Dr.  I hope he's the ONE!

I wish you all a great day filled with whatever it is you wish for yourselves.
