I'm home from work and I'm really beat.  They took me off register to watch the Children's Miracle Network game table.  I didn not have a customer in over an hour.  The only thing I can think of that would be more boring would be sitting and watching my toe nails grow.  Or maybe watching the grass grow in the middle of a dry summer.  Oh well, I guess someone had to do it.

As I was checking out an attractive younger gentleman asked me how he could get to speak to a manager.  Since I was clocked out, I went and found someone and brought her back to speak with him.  As I was crossing the parking lot to my car, I heard a voice call, "Thank you, Ma'am for helping me out."  It was the gentleman from the store.  I told him he was very welcome and asked if one of the trucks was his.  He said it was and that he had asked my manager if he could park overnight.  She said he was in the perfect spot for that and he was very welcome.  He thanked me again and we parted ways.  He was very nice!

Seems, I'm meeting a collection of truck drivers lately.  Where were they when I was young, footloose and fancy free?

Jane, you might find it less boring to watch paint dry.   ;D

I spent most of the afternoon sleeping, after having a delicious salad bowl lunch, of which half of it is waiting for me to have for supper. After the nap, I spent some time in the library, then a quiet visit to the chapel, now I am in for the rest of the evening. Very thankful for a peaceful day, and prayers for those that cannot escape the hurricanes.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

Checking in tonight, but having a hard time staying awake.

LARRY, it is the same here...I nod off as I am typing on my iPad all the time, but Bob never does.  He sleeps a couple of hours longer at night than I do, so maybe that is his reason.  Brian came over today to help connect the new Sonos Sound Bar and it is fabulous!  New TV and sound bar has us nearly wireless and that makes me a happy camper.  Happy to read you enjoyed your meal last night....  our new TV is also a 4K and it is quite the picture.  I was disappointed that we did not get to see Shirley, but agree with you, being happy that she decided to not stay her without her son.  Next time ai hope, however, with the issues she is having she may not be able to come back and stay at that altitude any longer.

CAROL, I smile at your comment of how much fun it was to have the two sons there with you last night.  We enjoy every second we get to spend with our family.  Do you know if the friends that are starting the new home cleaning service are taking on new customers?  I am seriously considering getting someone as we are just not doing that great of job of keeping up.  Let me know, if you can.  Thank you.

We got a call from Mark last night and he did go back to California to the golf club that he interviewed at a week or so ago.  They wanted to offer him a different job and he did accept it and will be moving to LA and starting there the 13th of October.  He is very excited about this new opportunity and we are happy for him.  Things have a way of working out for the best.

I must get this sent and head off to bed.  Pleasant dreams to all.

Good morning everyone...

Have daughter in love coming today so I must get her room ready only this time she won't be coming alone. Skye ,the Great Dane will be staying overnight also. I just hope all the dogs get along.
No let up in the high temps here and won't be for a while ,we had the a/c on yesterday and I imagine it will be on again today.

Jane, you gave me a chuckle reading your post, I know David has asked if he can park in the big lots in the past.He is now on his way to North Charlston but should be home on Sat.

Just need to chase dust bunnies and get daughter in loves room ready today. We will be leaving early in the morning to go to a fabric sale and like being there when the doors open then we can be in and out before the crowd gets there.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning everyone; well I am going to have to take this computer to hospital and have it cleaned out. I was login to S & F and it took me back two weeks so had to go through all the old post to get to today. the good news is a good bee keeper came over yesterday and put my bees in order. well I am a day behind because of that but am heading the shop and work on making a couple more hives for spring and be ready to make some splits.have a great day.

Hall sure enjoyed our visit yesterday hope you are feeling better today. have a great one.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I was up early but I opted out of making dog food last night so had to do it before the doggies could have breakfast this morning.  I'm sitting here with my second cup of coffee and thinking what I have to do today and I think getting dressed better be one of the first items on my agenda since today is the day my neighbor is trimming my bushes.

JeanneLee, I've already watched paint dry and what I did yesterday was even more boring because I still had to smile while I was bored.  That's not easy!

Jenny, congrats to your son.  Maybe what they offered him is even better!  Let us know!

Amy, I thought you'd enjoy my truck driver story!  The funny thing is that when I was in high school, I was afraid of truck drivers.  Then I worked at PA House a lot of my contact was with truck drivers and I found out they were a pretty nice bunch of people and then there's David.....what a nice guy!

Guess I better go get dressed before Steve shows up.  Later, friends!

Hi everyone. It looks like today will be a repeat of yesterday in terms of the weather with a high around 90 degrees.  This being Thursday I will pick up my friend and take him to coffee this morning.  On my way I will make quick stop at Walmart to pick up a prescription and a couple of other things. I doubt I will try to attend the Wisdom class today as have been tired all week and today starts the same.  There is nothing else on the schedule for today.  We did have a nice dinner at Church last evening and then Jennifer came out and played Farkle with Pat for a couple of hours. Scott had traded work days with someone on the day he was sick so he was working last evening and couldn't be with us.

Jane, making a list is a big help in being sure we get things done.  It is always fun to be able to check an item off the list when completed. Not staying busy can be very tiring.  Did they let you at least sit down to watch the game table?

Amy, it sounds like you gave your dogs a real treat with a trip to the lake.

June, it sounds like you did quite a bit yesterday and had a reason to be tired.  It is nice your former Chaplin is living in your community but will no longer have the responsibilities that go with the chaplain's job.

Amy, you must be a fast worker to make so many quilts so quickly.  A number of years ago Pat hand quilted a king size whole cloth off-white pineapple pattern quilt.  We use it as a wall hanging in our front entrance way and it is beautiful.  She is not physically able to spend too much time during a day on her quilts but keeps working at them a little at a time.  Hope you and DIL find a lot of good fabric on sale.

Carol, I hope the housekeeper does a great job for you today and that you might want to retain her to do the heavy housecleaning in the future then you could save your energy for things you enjoy doing.  Of course I know it won't be long before you all will be headed back to your winter home.   Is your tap water warm in the cold lines during the summer months.  We had never experienced this before moving to South Carolina.  I guess our winters are mild enough that they don't have to bury the water lines too deeply.  In fact, I don't even have turnoff valves for the two outside faucets, which was a surprise to me.  The hurricane and earthquake disaster in the last few weeks have been terrible.  The idea of a whole island losing power is really something and it has impacted 3 1/2 million people.

Jenny, I was wondering a day or so ago if Mark had found a position in the golf world.  I hope he loves his new job.  I hope you do find a housekeeper to clean you home.  As I have often written, it is so nice to have the whole house cleaned at one time.  If you are doing a lot of typing on your iPad I would encourage you to get a blue tooth keyboard to use.  I think I paid around $10 to $15 dollars for the one I have and it works well.  It is battery operated so no wires and very light weight.

Lloyd, if you get sent back in postings just look for the page numbers before the discussions or at the bottom and click on the largest one.  You can then quickly scroll back up the page to find your last posting and go from there.  Glad you got your bees in order.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, we used to say "watching the railroad tracks rust".
that isn't very exciting either.

I am off to men's breakfast and bible study this morning.
and then to a doctors apmt.  Get to meet my new primary care doctor.  Maybe he will have some magic elixir that will give me some new energy and strength.

I am anxious to hear from Tisie and her trip since she had some problems with the altitude.  Hopefully no lasting effects (or is it affects), whatever.

I had my normal night, slept pretty good first part and then woke up around four wide awake and lay there it seems till around 6.  I don't think I will ever get another sound nights sleep.

Well better get some coffee and gather my stuff.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning to all the early friends.

Unfortunately, I am up, but not quite "attem" yet.  It just takes me so long to get fully awake and functioning like a "human being".

I have had breakfast and slowly coming alive,.

Nothing on my agenda today.  I did get some baking done yesterday.  Baked a peach pie for my son....  a  small one for myself and some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. I usually call my son to remind him to stop by when I have something for him, but didn't do that yesterday.  When it got to be after 6, I called him and he had forgotten.  He had had a lot to finish up at work and forgot.  So,  he was fixing dinner when I called, but he did get down in about an hour.  Sometimes I tell him he would forget his head,  if it wasn't attached. So, all turned out good.

And, my little peach pie was good, as I had gotten an order of chocolate ice cream from the Schwan's Frozen food man today, and that went good with the pie.

Plus, a cinnamon roll for my breakfast tasted good, also.

Hal,  good luck with the appointment today with your new doctor.  Sure hope he can help you feel better.

Larry, I  hope you will feel more rested today.  Nice that your Jennifer enjoys being with you and Pat.

Jane,  I always had heard that Walmart is very good about letting trucks and Rv's park in their parking lots over night.  I am sure it makes the people feel a little more safer than going to a rest area or just off the road somewhere.  Plus, I am  sure most of the ones that do park overnight usually will wind up needing something from the store before they leave.

Jenny, sorry that you didn't get to meet up with Shirley.  Will be anxious to hear about her travels out in your area.  I know she loves being out there, and hope  she won't have any lasting effects from her problem with the altitude.  I do remember when we traveled out there,  I didn't feel real good when we were in the higher altitudes.

Lloyd,  hope you have a good day, also.

And, Carol and Amy,   I wish I could have shared some of  my peach pie with you.  I did want to mention to you that I had bought some Smucker's  Peach and Mango jam and it is soooooooo good.  I prefer jam or preserves to jelly.  Sometimes I will make some little turnovers with different kinds of jam.  I am thinking that this jam would be good in some turnovers.

Hope everyone will have a wonderful  Thursday.

It is a great day with sun shining and the morning is cool.

Jenny:  Great for Mark - I hope he finds something without a long commute in LA.  I'll get the info for you - am so excited about someone doing this for me.  The kids have been after me for years but I am not a person who likes to spend money - give away always feels better.

Jane:  You were born to be helpful!

Amy:  Set a big chair for Skye!  why is Daughter in love?  I missed that story.

Lloyd:  You make me feel exhausted!

Larry:  Tap water is cold here - maybe somewhat warmer by August.  Our water has gold in it ( :2funny:  Even if you don't get too cold, I would shut off the outside system and cover all the faucets.  We have seen freezing in Texas so it can happen.

Joy:  You always look awake to me.  Thanks for trying to share the peaches.

There is nothing better than the family gatherings - I always wanted to live like the Waltons on t.v.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone from the Sunny
and Warm,  Rocky coast of Maine.

When I drove across the USA   five years ago,  I spent every
night on the road,   staying in  a Walmart Parking Lot .
All of the Walmarts were open 24 hours  and I would park up close
to the front door of the Walmarts.   No one ever bothered me,
knocked on my van door or told me to leave.     I had coverings
all around the sleeping areas in my van, so  no one could look in and
see me...

Yes,  I drove all across this country and never stayed in a motel or hotel....  just slept in the back of my van.

I wish that I had the courage today that I had then!!!

All is well...  life is good..
but I am not as "free spirited" as I use to be...

I love where I live now, living on the corner of the
Main Street in Portland Maine.     How things
change in just a few short years!!!

Have a great day,  everyone ...

I love family gatherings too.  When I was little we WERE the Waltons.  At home we were 3 generations in one house and I had cousins who lived 2 doors down the street and an uncle who still lived at home.  You never knew how many would be at dinner.

And when we went to our other grandparents, they were 3 generations in one house on the farm where my father grew up.  There was an uncle still at home there, too and we were 7 kids 2 sets of parents and a set of grandparents around the dinner table.

I miss those days when I sit in front of the TV eating my dinner alone or I have it on the desk while I'm on the computer.  Sometimes I just stop and think about the old days.

My bushes are all trimmed.  Steve did the trimming and I loaded the wheelbarrow and he'll get rid of the branches.  It really looks nice!  He wouldn't let me pay him so I think I'll get a gasoline gift card.  They do a lot of driving.

Carol, you're right about trucks and RVs in WM parking lot.  Hardly a night passes that there isn't something parked out there.  I think Bobbie said that when she was traveling she spent some nights in WM parking lots.  And I think Sandy did, too.

I suppose that helping thing comes partly from "may I help you at WM" and "May I help you" in our family business for many years and also from being a Girl Scout.  I do try to be helpful because so many people have been helpful to me over the years.  Case in point:  my bush trimming neighbor.

Larry, I'm a firm believer in lists.  I have a running list on my computer and when I notice that I'm out of something or getting low, I add it.  Unfortunately, the things I forgot hadn't made it to the list yet.

It's coming up on lunch time and I have some things to finish up before I eat (in front of the TV).  Guess I'll say "So Long for now".  Enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone, yesterday was a wasted day. Extermoinators were here at 9am. firsst floor is where they started and they were served coffee and donuts in the community room. By the time they got up here and we hac to go down the second floor was still in the community room and there was only a few plain donuts left. Glad I had my breakfast and didn't need the left overs. After clearing everything from under the sinks and getting most stuff off the counters all I could see was some new sticky traps under the sinks and by the fridge. I never did see any bugs in here. Very tireing
Light rain all day from Jose so no sitting outside. Jose has stalled off the coast but those whe live on Block Island-off the RI coast-were interviewed on TV and they said they didn't know what all the hype was about because we were only getting a Nor'easter and they are used to those. Not raining right now so maybe I should try to go out for some fresh air before it starts again.

MARY ANN  if Tom gets a bug bomb and the garage is attached to your home do not leave your cat there. My son put a bug bomb in the basement and he told me to leave. I was on the second floor and thought I would be OK. After an hour when the fumes headed up I did have to get out. Burning eyes and throat.

Two hours later, had to leave again, the extyerminators are back to do the hallways and started up here so had to leave. At least I did get somw walking in and it is pretty nice out. No sunshine, breezy and cloudy. Was odd seeing the clouds come from the north east. Mostly come from the west/south-west.

JENNY  my oldest son has one of those big TV's. After watching there I come home and mine looks so small. He has 4 speakers, one in each corner of the room.

CAROL  I would never think of taking a selfie. I have seen clips on TV about some who take stupid chances to get a selfie.

HAL and JUNE and others who miss church on Sunday, had a friend who said on Sunday mornings he goes to God's original church. He would go walking in the woods and nature.

JEANNE LEE  never heard that name. Like you I never open an email from an unknown name. I just delete it.

LLOYD  sorry I have not said anything to you lately. I sure did not mean to ignore you. Somedays I don't think I say anything much to anyone. Maybe now that this roach problem is over with I can relax and enjoy life again. I am one of a few who had none in my apartment. I use a lot of vinegar and water for cleaning  and most bugs dislike the smell of vinegar. I dilute it with water in a spray bottle. Cleans great and the smell fades fast. I used to love rides in the country but these days I have all I can do to sit in a car for half an hour.

JANE  I really enjoyed that first Crocodile Dundee and would like watching it again.

AMY  I envy you and JANE with all the canning you do and the enjoyment you will have with your work in the winter. I had an old icebox with the holes plugged sso nothing could get inside and I had that full of jam and jelly every fall and boy we all enjoyed it and the jars of fruit, pickles and tomatoes.

LARRY  like you I seem to only be able to sleep in bed. Most afternoons I will lay on the couch to rest my back for half an hour or so but never fall asleep.

JANE  my daughter had a lot of prickly pear plants along the front fence in San Diego. One year her and my SIL picked some and she made prickly pear jam. She sent me a small jar of it and it was tasty. Never did that again though, they both ended with many of the little spined in their fingers from picking the pears even though they had thick gloves on. I did not think it tasted like most other pears I have had. Like you I do not really like pears either.

Better get a move on. Have a nurse coming this afternoon. Never had health insurance before that kept such close contact with members.

Jane, I also wished I lived in a big family.  We didn't even have relatives close and we were the only family in Michigan, let alone Grand Rapids.  I always said that if I married, I wanted nine children (9!) but since I didn't marry, I settled for Norm's three son who I feel I helped bring up.  Norm's wife was one of three children and we all got together for holidays and we were a big group.  When they divorced, I lost my family; I still was in contact with them, but no big family get-togethers.  As the boys married, I have been lucky to be part of the lives of two of them; the third nephew lived across Michigan so we did not see that family as often.  Like you, I do eat most of my meals in front of the TV - on or off - and I'm on the computer more that I should be.  It isn't easy getting older!!!

Gloria, thanks for the suggestion about the garage, but our garage is what they call semi-attached, meaning it is about 10 feet from my front door with no connection to the building.  Tom hasn't bought a bug bomb yet and may not.  I haven't noticed any new bites.

Mary Ann

Sandy

I forgot to mention that  out side of my apartment
right now they are re doing the sidewalk,  which means tearing up
the bricks and laying down new ones.

This is a good thing,  because the sidewalks haven't been fixed
here for many years and brick sidewalks are sometimes
hard to negotiate...     So they should be smoother to walk
on now.

Great for people like me who tend to fall down,  if not careful.
But the noise of them trying to fix these side walks
is awful.    They are literally ripping them up and re laying
them down!!!!

Otherwise,  all is well!

The cleaning company with 3 trainees and one owner (friend of son) were finished in two hours.  Things that would take me parts of at least three to 4 days.  Someone forgot to dust the top of the fridge but that is the only flaw - really, it is absolutely thrilling to have this treat.

Sandy:  You have the "Gratitude is an attitude" - nice to read that you like your corner spot.  Very good that the sidewalk is being leveled especially before snow falls.

Getting into the clearing things out at the same time, we delivered bags of books and unused kitchen things to Goodwill - so that is always a feeling of relief as well.  I notice that they even cleaned the electric tea kettle.  Come and have a spot of tea with me  :)  My knees are grateful today.

Well the new doctor seems like a really thorough and concerned individual.  He was running late getting me in but I can understand, he doesn't rush you and is interested in all that you have to say.  As a matter of fact I just got a phone call from his office adjusting one of my meds.  He reviewed all my meds and took me off one of them that he said would cause weakness of my leg muscles.  He explains why he is doing things.  Oh, and he is from the Ukraine.  I ask how he was coping with the Texas heat and he said he loves it.  Hmmmm, second thoughts, maybe he is a bit nuts.   ;D

It seemed everything was running late at the clinic this morning, Lab was closed until 1 and didn't open until 1:20 and then they couldn't find a vein the get the FIVE vials of blood they needed and got puncture wounds on both arms and one hand, and it took two of them to get the right combination.

Oh, well, I know too much information.

JaneS

Carol,  I know what you mean about everything being clean at the same time.  After my "dynamo" leaves, I just walk around looking at things.  When I first moved in here, I could clean the whole house in about 2 hours but things have sure gone down hill in th past 20 years.  I wonder why?

Another day that passed much too quickly for me!  I just do not know where the time goes!

We have our youngest Colorado grandson here with us tonight.  His mom and sister are at the play Frozen,, daddy is working and his older brother and his uncle are on a camp out with the Boy Scouts.  They had to hike in a couple miles to where they would set up camp.  Tomorrow night daddy will be taking them on another camp out again and Uncle Brian will be coming home.  There is no school tomorrow, as there is a teachers planning day, so the scouts will be going on a train ride.  This group of scouts are working very hard towards being Eagle Scouts.  Matthew is very close, only having a couple more badges.  We are very proud of him as he is only 12 years old.

CAROL, happy to read that everything went well today with your cleaning crew.  I, too, like you and Jane said, would like to live like the Waltons.  That is why I enjoyed having Mark at one time, then Brian and Cathy living here temporarily with us.  I always thought it would be so neat for our family to all live in our own individual homes on acreage......we could grow a big garden, have chickens and cattle and lots of people to get the job done.

JOY, as you know, many people have issues with the high altitude here.  I am sad that maybe SHIRLEY might not be able to come and enjoy the camping anymore.  Maybe she can consider using oxygen, but I am sure she would only do that I'd it were totally necessary and if it did allow her to come here to camp.

LARRY, Mark said exactly what you said, that this job might just have been meant to be.  He did not really want to have anything to do with food services, however, if he ever wants to be the GM of a golf club, it is mandatory.. several others have told him that not having this experience made some jobs limiting for them.  He will also be the head of tournament coordinator.  Carol commented about having a shorter commute..... he and Megan have applied for a lease on a home that is very close to his job location.  Now if Megan can get on at a hospital that will not be too far either.  They both are sure excited as they goal was to live in Cali. Thank you for the suggestion of getting a wireless key board.

SANDY, you really did have a wonderful adventure when you lived on the road, but I am happy that you are settled in and very happy in your location right now.

HAL, your new doctor does indeed sound very thorough, and that is great.

MARYANN, I did not grow up with family around either and I was always jealousy of others that did.  Sure happy to read that you do not have any new bites......sure would be nice if you did not have do do the bug bomb.

GLORIA, glad to read that the exterminators have finished at your place.  Thank goodness you never saw any critters!

JANE, how nice you did get to live like The Waltons!  Your situation sounded very nice.  My Bob grew up on Panama City Beach Florida with the grandparents, 3 sets of aunts and uncles and numerous cousins all of his growing up years.

I guess I had best get this boys bed ready for him...... have a wonderful night of rest, EVERYFRIEND.

Quick note to say I am home & will enjoy a bath & go to bed.  I am disappointed to miss seeing you, Jenny, but turned out just an "altitude" problem, I think, but have a routine check with the cardio late Oct so will ask him about it.  Cas had one of those "thingies" that clip on the finger to tell oxygen & heart rate.... since I didn't come out of altitude problems in June I tossed the thingy in the RV. I was exhausted by the time I landed in Walmart parking lot (Jane, you have no idea how welcome those places are).... The last 20 miles were a nightmare of sun setting blazing in my eyes, then total dark as the cliffs hid the sun & my eyes don't re-focus that fast.  Then Tiger cat was yelling in the back that she needed to stop.... cats will not use a litter box when vehicle is moving.... so with a loud screech she "coughed up her cookies".  The sun & dark was really scaring me, I had to hit my brakes twice because I could not tell which way the curve was.... kept wondering if that car on my bumper could push me over the edge.     The Salida altitude is about 8,000' (I think) & the campground is about 8600.  Since my oxygen rate was always 98% when Cas was alive (last time I checked about 4 years ago)... & it was 70% in Salida... I figured that was the problem.  After 3 days it was up to 83%, but by the time I headed home & stopped at Lamar (3,625, I just checked) back up to 94%.  Guess I'll live & even Tom & Tiger came home without any more problems!

I did not expect to find old LaurenKat, but am satisfied I did all I could.  We went by the Humane Society & left a photo in case she
ever showed up in a trap, just in case she is alive.  I said I would send money if she was found, to have her humanely put to sleep & not suffer, since she absolutely hated being caged if she was injured.  I would drive back out if they found her, too.  Mission accomplished, even if problem not solved. In these days of technology, being able to e-mail photos to identify..... would have no doubt it was the right cat.  At least, I'm at peace with her being gone, she always wanted to be free.

Couple phone calls & now it's time for that shower & get to bed, but first check on Tom & Tiger, feed & let back out if they want.  Seems nobody has seen Callie (their Mama) since I left.  Hope she found a home that will be good to her.  Neighbor said they saw a
coyote behind their fence so maybe that is what has scared the cats lately.  Callie always walked down to the river with me, but she
came back when I did, never know about feral cats.  Youngest son called & now I really gotta get moving!  Will read what all of you
have been up to tomorrow.  Sweet dreams to all.  Shirley

Oops, Jenny, you slipped in.  My daughter also suggested asking the Dr about oxygen... not sure how that works but will ask, can't imagine never seeing the mountains again~  Glad your "bunch" are enjoying life & got to agree that sometimes when one door closes another opens & is nicer. Andy's son is an Eagle Scout & it did make a difference for college scholarships. He didn't make Eagle as young as Matthew, though.

Happy to read you are home safe and sound, SHIRLEY.  I am sorry that you did not find or learn anything about LaurenKat.  Hopefully the sweet baby just found a place to curl up and pass on.  We all know you have done all that you can possibly do to find her and make sure she is safe and not suffering anywhere.  I hope you can rest well tonight.  I am sorry to read what a stressful drive you had when you arrived here.  Did you ever see any snow?  I could not tell from watching the weather reports.  I bet you did get to see a bit of color before you left.  Still disappointed that we did not get to meet up, but I sure understand.

Night, night....

I see AMY is going shopping for more quilting stuff. you should take picture and post of your handy work. yesterday A new acquaintance Bee keeper  came over and gave me a lesson on how to properly set up the hive. good news the bees Have should be enough honey for the winter. bad news is not enough and too late in season to rob honey for us.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I'm not going to bore you with the details but I put in one of the worst nights of my life last night.  I'm tired and sore this morning and I have to go to work.  It's my last day before vacation.  But I have an ace in the hole.  I already have an appointment with my dr. this afternoon.  So we shall see!

Good morning.  Kind of a cloudy morning,  but according to the weather people,  it is supposed to improve soon.  It is the first day of Fall, and our temperature is supposed to be up in the 80's again.  I will take these kind of days for as long as they keep coming. It has been a beautiful week, so far.

Jane, I am so sorry to read that you had  such a terrible night.  Sure hope the situation will improve as the day goes on.  Will keep you in my thoughts today.

Amy,  good luck with your fabric shopping today.   I remember times when I would have been in the same hurry to get to a good fabric sale.  Sadly, I have not done any sewing for a long time now.  Just not motivated anymore.  I still have some unfinished quilt tops stashed away.  I used to do quilts and afghans for the Linus Project.  Just plain simple tied quilts...... nothing as elaborate as the ones you make.

Shirley, I am so happy that you are back home. Sorry that you had to cut your trip short because of the altitude.  Hope that you are feeling better and will be able to make plans for another trip later on.  Sorry that you didn't have any luck finding LaurenKat.  Take a few days to rest and get yourself settled in.  Don't try to set the world on fire just yet.  LOL   But, WELCOME HOME !!!!

I have had my breakfast and need to get on with the day.

Hope all the friends will have a wonderful first FALL DAY !!!

Good morning everyone, still no sunshine here with Jose still hanging around off the coast. He does not know when he is no longer welcome. Still some pretty strong winds in the southern part of the state. On TV just now they showed a police cruiser parked across a road near a curve because a tree was down across the road and a big tree limb fell on the cruiser. He didn't get hurt but the roof sure did. Looks like summer heat will be here this week end and into next week. Yuck, I am waiting for autumn weather.

MARY ANN  I did come from a big family  and now I do miss the gatherings as I am the last one. My 2 sons live close but we do not all get together anymore except when my daughter comes for a visit and the last time she was here was in 06.

CAROL  did that cleaning crew move furniture and get into corners, too? The help I get can not do that and neither can I anymore, heck I would even like to wash my windows and polish furniture and have my home nice and really cleaned again.

HAL  your new doctor sounds like a keeper. I have not seen a doctor in more than a year but the nurse practioner (NP) is better than the 2 doctors I had for 20 years. Ouch getting to a vein for you. Glad I still have good ones.

JANE  would love to hire a dynamo like you have. The help I get can only do the minimum cleaning.

JENNY  I always wanted a big house where my family could always come and visit or live. Plenty of rom for the grands. Well I am not living in a big building with lots of room and too many never come out of their apartments. If SHIRLEY can no longer get to the mountains she loves she would not be too happy. Wherein California will Mark be? I sure hope that this building is bug free once again.

SHIRLEY  glad you made it home safely, Last time I drove at night  I thought I would never make it home.

JANE  good luck with your doctor appointment.

JOY  feels like we have not seen sun for weeks since Jose came up here and is not leaving.
