Dear Hearts, Just in to say goodnight to all you dear good loving people. It has been a quiet day at home for me. A nice long phone chat with my beloved Dori this morning. She will be going up to Idllywild on a Retreat and will do a couple of her skits for the ladies. I did take one trip down to the clinic..just for a chat. Had lunch and supper at home. Needed the A/C today, high was 89. I stayed away from the t.v. I did not want to relive the horrors of 911. We have enough in our present weather troubles, that will take a long time to get things back as they were, if possible. Now my weary brain is telling me to go to bed and read, so I will obey. Good night dear hearts, keep safe and sleep peacfully while God keeps watch.  I love you all SO much, June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Amy

Good morning everyone..

Slept in this morning ....VON is to come today then we are in to town to pick up meds for hubby. Dr office phone to say he has an infection.....mercy me what next???

We had a nice visit with his sister yesterday and by the time we got back home any thought of cleaning the garden up for the year Larry had disappeared from my mind, so I sat and sewed  Today I hope will be a better day .

Better scoot don't wish to be caught in my jammies if VON shows up
Take care everyone..

Gloria

Good morning everyone. After the cold temperatures we had already today will be like mid summer and according to the weather guesser now we will be getting into high humidity the next few days. Looking at the possible paths of Jose one shows it coming right over RI. Sandy was the kast here and that was along the shore. Have not had one this far inland in many years.

JENNY  it was wonderful how everyone showed their patriotic side after 9/11 but seems too many do not remember that. Nothing we can do about Mother Nature's fury but  I just do not understand those whe get a thrill from hurting others. Yesterday a man in his 50's and his 30+ year old son were out for a motorcycle ride and simeone driving by shot both of them. Where is the sence of that.

JANE  have you ever seen a movie or TV series that follows the book? It might start OK but soon it is a different story.

JUNE  we might need AC here tomorrow again.

LLOYD  have a good day.

AMY  2 steps forward and 1 back for you and your hubby. Hope this infection is cleared fast.

Good Morning Everyone!

See all the early birds are up and posting, well, except Gloria.  Gloria you were up early this morning.  I hope Jose leaves you folks alone.  He cant seemed to make up his mind what he wants to do.  But suspect he will end up just a low with lots of rain.

Lloyd, your luck seems to be holding, all bad.  Knowing you you are going to end up with a back sprain or mashed thumb.

Yes Amy you need to get into street clothes and out of your jemmies, you wouldn't want the VON to see you in nightclothes.  LOL  Sorry to hear your husband has another infection.  Hope he improves rapidly and completely.

Larry happy to hear you had no problems with Irma.  Just lots of work preparing and putting things back in place.

Our weather is fixing to go back to normal, lots of humidity and warm temps.  Irma sucked all the moisture from here and left us with dry cool weather for the past week or so, but we need rain badly. Again.

Coffee is ready for those needing or wanting a cup.

Hi everyone. It is a quiet and overcast cool morning.  The effects of the hurricane have now passed our area.  I am very grateful that we really had no impacts from the storm other than the 3 1/2 inches of rain and a lot of very gusty wind.  There were  3 or 4 shingles in my driveway but an examination of my house roof shows they were not from it.  I think they came from a trash pile in front of a new home being built on the next street. I looked at my roof this morning and all seems to be in place.  We did lose power for  about 3 hours starting a little before 3 pm. We sure were happy to see the lights come back on before night time.

I have put things I had out for an emergency back in place. There were trees down in certain areas of Augusta and North Augusta.

It sure has been good to see the messages from or about our folks living in Florida that they had weathered the storm.  Pat has a lot of relative in the St. Petersburg/Tampa area and it sounded dire for them but the storm also pretty much left them alone.  I haven't heard anything from friends over around Atlanta but know they also got a lot of wind and rain.  I just see on the Weather Channel that over 7 million people are without power this morning.

The main thing on my schedule today is to see the foot doctor this morning to get my toenails trimmed.  I have been looking forward to this appointment for several weeks as my big toes have been very sore to any pressure on them.  I plan on taking it easy the rest of the day. I found the uncertainty  yesterday to be stressful and was very tired when I went to bed last evening.  I had a good nights sleep and feel rested this morning.

Gloria, it has been years since I slept with a window open.  As you can see above we fared well in the storm yesterday and the sun has just now popped out among the clouds and sure looks good.

Jenny, you are so right that our country was brought together by 9-11 but now has become so divided again.  I didn't catch the game in Denver last night as was fast asleep not long after it started. I see the Bronco's won so you must have done a good job of cheering them on.

Jane, it sounds like fall won't be long in coming up in your area.  I am beginning to notice a few signs of it down this way as well.  We haven't watched "The Outlander" series.

June, it sounds like Dori is indeed a jewel of a person.  I hope today finds you doing well.

Lloyd, sorry to hear you had more problems with the bulldozer yesterday.  Do you think it might be trying to tell you something.  :)

Amy, so sorry to see that your husband now has another problem to fight.  Sometimes it seems to be never ending. Glad you were able to enjoy your sewing yesterday as the garden is going nowhere.

Hal, as of this morning it appears that Jose may stay out in the Atlanta but certainly something that coastal areas have to keep a close eye on.  We sure don't need more coastal flooding this year.

Lloyd Hammond

Larry probable so but I can't quit until I finish last two jobs already committed.
Then plan on selling it and some other equipment. we need to talk out the details, but we are talking out a deal selling every thing and keeping right to retain cattle and pasture and home for both our lives. nothing left for kin folks to fight over.and he will give right to let any of sibling's buy back for just $$ no intrastate he has in it. ( just one). that should settle any arguments. Have a great day.

Lloyd

Carol

JENNY:  I know you were watching the Broncos - what a finish!

AMY:  Best wishes to your husband - I hope meds will handle this quickly.

I need too keep on catching up with umpteen things in the house plus visit with neighbors and friends - visiting and checking on them is top priority.

Amy

:cheer:   Yahhhhhh...the garden is done, for a minute I thought the garden tiller was going to win as it needed a few pulls and some muttering on my part to start!

Pulled all the carrots, cucumbers and one lonely squash. Now that job is behind me I can move onto something else. The gazebo cover needs to be taken down and put away yet too.

Gloria De ...did you just mix a jello powder into cottage cheese? Do you add anything else or that is it?

Might go sew..

Good Morning all. Still mid morning on the west coast. Had a good night, woke early, still shortness of breath so I practice the breathing pattern I was taught and that helps. I really to need too get out and walk more. But when you feel tired, you feel too tired. Does that make sense ????  Our high is listed as 85. We have a laptop lesson today, but I intend to just stay home.....no Umph.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good afternoon, a little warmer, but still in the 70's

June, I worry about you. Yes I do that exercise as I wrote before the nurse said "Smell the garden & Blow out the candle" I am happy, I now have the oxygen in the house, I am only use it when I feel I am low on oxygen, I have a gadget I put on my finger which reads that.  Low on oxygen effect your brain, also makes you tired.  I think I am more relaxed having it here, when i have a breathing problem,

Gloria this has been my kind of weather. WE are also watching the next storm. Of course we had 9 11 memorial on all morning yesterday, I did watch some of it.. There were also some minor miracles as I wrote before, my DIL thought her brother and sister were at work there.  Her brother overslept that morning and her sister had taken her first ever vacation.  My golfing partner thought her daughter was there, but she had been sent to another office in NJ to work that day.  We were playing golf when they wrong the storm bell, which means everyone off the course. That is how we heard about the towers.

Lloyd, you had better take it easy, until you can get some help.

Amy, I am so sorry to read about your hubbys infections.  Yes more goes into the jello mix. cool whip, cottage cheese, dry jello, crushed pineapple and a sm. can of fruit, or mandarin oranges

Top o' the Tuesday, Everyfriend,

The noon weather guru says our slightly cloudy skies are a result of Irma as she makes her northern swing but the only effect is slightly cooler temperatures.

The sticker on the windshield said it was time to have the car checked for oil and all that sort of thing.  The friendly Kwik Kar place has taken care of that for quite a few years so...off I went.

I could see them looking under the hood, checking the tires and vaccuming the inside.  When the fellow came in the waiting room and handed me my keys, he said, "Everything checks out fine. See you in March".

I asked what I owed and he told me there was no charge because I don't drive that far and, unless I need something before then, it won't need another checkup for six months.  At that time he will change the oil "and all that sort of thing."

Sometimes, it's A Good Thing to be a Little Old Lady.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

I guess that I really am not a US Football follower. Can't under stand the game. But just had the local news on.  I live in the Town that has the University of Illinois in. They have a Out of Town game Saturday and will be Playing Tampa.Florida University team.  Showing how bad it was and that they were not letting people back into the area to see what happened to their Homes and telling people not to be driving on the Interstates.
THE GAME WILL STILL GO ON .  Urbana have said that they would arrange for them and the Games to be played here in Town. Was turned down. They want it playing in their town.. With all the work that must be needed to be done In Tampa  to me the day could be put to better use. Its just a football game. Not even a Pro game. Now the Police of the city will be tied up with the football traffic.

Very quiet in here today, and I have been of no help. Went down for lunch at the big dining room and enjoyed the company, but glad to get back home to my little nest. I have had the other half of my huge egg salad sandwich, and feel full as a tic, so I will brush my teeth, wash my face and go to bed to read. Tomorrow my son will doing Bible class and I hope to be there with his other fans.

I love you my dear hearts, and keep you all close in prayers. Always. June

Good morning everyone... :)

We are off to the city this morning to get hubby's vehicle undercoated. I will pick up a few things  while in the city then head home.

I thought I  would have sore muscles from tilling the garden but so far so good.

If today is anything like yesterday for weather it will be an awesome day!

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning AMY and everyone else.
AMY you seam to get up before breakfast. have a great day.
how old is your hubby's car, why undercoat a used vehicle.
I would think salt would already be in cracks and crevices.
and that would be sealing it in to do more damage.
we have car washes over here that do under body wash.
and used regularly do not rust out, our car is a 02 doge caravan.
still no rust just a couple dent's where i backed into objects setting around.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up and have been for a while.  We waited out Annie's pill today on the sofa.  I didn't sleep very well last night and felt a bit tired yet this morning.  Sometimes I wish I could still hit the floor running like Amy does!  Sometimes I just want more sleep!

I'll be off to WM this afternoon.  I only have a few more weeks of afternoons.  I changed my schedule back to mornings yesterday.  That will start the middle of October when my vacation is over and I'll keep it through the dark days of winter.  I might adjust for next summer if all things are equal.

I hope you all have a lovely day!  Make it yours in every way!

Good Morning Everyone.

What a nice surprise this morning, the smiling face of June in Random Image. a very nice way to start the day.

I woke up this morning and my mind was working overtime, so I just got up and turn the puter on to see what the rest of you were doing.  And as usual Janie, Amy and Lloyd beat me up.  What do you say we all meet somewhere for a big breakfast, I am buying.  Amy your hubby is invited as well as Nancy.

Nothing scheduled here today, that I know of.  My oldest, her husband and my Granddaughter and her twins all went out for supper last night and had a good time.   Seems we were all hungry for the same thing, BLT and some had a cup of tortilla soup, I didn't, I had what we call half and half, half french fries and half onion rings.  They just didn't put enough bacon my my sandwich.

I hope everyone has a great day.

larryhanna

Hi everyone.  It looks like it will be a beautiful day with it getting only into the low 80's this afternoon.  I think I will go to coffee with my men friends this morning and then this evening we have dinner at the Church and Scott and Jennifer will be coming to the house afterwards.

Lloyd, it sounds like you have a reasonable plan in mind for your heirs.  We sure don't need family squabbling over material things when we are no longer around.

Amy, glad your garden job is over for the season.

June and deAngel, your breathing technique is one I was taught one of the time I was hospitalized with chest pains.  If nothing else it gives us something to concentrate on during times of distress.

Callie, those words from the mechanic when we have our cars serviced is certainly what we want to hear.  The charge was right for you as well.  :)

Hal, it would be great if we could get together for breakfast or lunch.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, looks like it will get to mid 80's here today before the remnants of rain from Irma get here by evening. Last few days felt like mid May instead of mid September. Now the sun is shining bright and the sky that perfect blue when the humidity is low.

HAL will worry about Jose id it makes it here. Watching weather report just now and the US prediction has the srotm coming close to us and the European one shows it heaking east away from us. They were right when they said Irma would go to the Gulf side of Florida and not the Atlantic  It has been a long time since a hurricane got this far inland here but the coast had been hit several times.

LARRY  every thing in this building runs with electricity so it would be a real mess here if we lose power. I can enjoy sleeping with the window open until it gets cold. Then the manager will not allow any windows to be open in the winter because the baseboard heat is under the windows and she says the pipes will freeze.

GLORIA de  I was watching the Today show when they turned their cameras to the Towers. It was hard to believe what was happening.

Nobody's been in here since 9:30 this morning?  We're going to have to let the waitress go and she has 3 kids and a worthless husband to support!  And never mind the cleaning lady who is supporting her parents and her grandmother, too plus the twins and the triplets!  If we don't generate some business in this Soda Shoppe, we'll have to close and think of all those people with no support!

The only excuse we'll accept is if you are fighting the hurricane or you have a very very very sore hand and can't type.

I just came home and fed the doggies and ate my supper and then I came over here to see what everyone was up to and Verna (the waitress) was dozing out on the patio because no one was around.  SO WHAT IS EVERYFRIEND UP To? AND WHY AREN'T YOU ShARING WIT THE REST OF US?

I was at WM for 4 hours and I did 4 different things.  They kept coming and telling me to shut down my register and go do something else.  It kind of made the time go faster.  But I'm glad to be home!  I didn't get even a short nap before I went so I'm planning an early bedtime.

I hope Everyfriend is happy and healthy and I apologize for yelling at you.

Miss Jane, I was plumb tuckered out from the city....

I see one of our grocery stores has 10 lb of beets on for 1.97 so I am going to get a couple of bags to pickle  plus check at the Mennonite market to see if the pears are in..

Dogs and hubby have gone to bed, I am the only one up...

Lloyd, we have an 05 and like to keep it rust free, it has always been undercoated and so far so good. They put a lot of salt and a brine now on the roads in the winter here...if you slipped and fell  on the road you would get up half pickled :)

I haven't been doing much and usually read unless someone says something that I can relate to.

On Monday we had a new dishwasher installed.  It replaced a 36-year-old dishwasher that still worked, but I could not get to the strainer to clean it.  Tom has wanted a new one for some time but I was always able to get at the strainer, but not this time.  New ones don't have strainers.

Today Tom and I went to Jan's for lunch.  Her dad was not feeling well so we ate there instead of going to a nearby restaurant.  We had pizza for lunch, but also some fresh delicious peaches.  Jan is the widow of Tom's brother, Terry, who died in April.

Jane, I hope it isn't necessary to lay off those employees.

June Drabek

Look what the cat dragged in ??? Lazy, long-legged June. Take it or leave it, but I would advise you leave it. Unless I straighten up and start acting like a living human being, I would just ignore me completely.

Gee, what a treat to see our dear Sun smiling at us. Ido hope she can come back and chat with us again.

I have decided to turn over  new leaf. I have been holing up here at home long enough, not associating with all the fine folks I live with here, so what if I mess up a bit, at least I was trying, right ?

Went down for my sons' Bible Class today and loved it. as did everyone else in attendance. Ordered up a big lunch and ate at home...I'm going to quit doing that...I need people.

Randy told me today he plans to start choir next week and I will get there if I have to crawl.

Now that is have yakked enough, I will go eat up my left- overs and start fresh tomorrow.   Any comments or suggestions ??????
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

Just keep coming by Mary Ann and June so we don't have to lay off Verna and Eloise!  And somebody should spill something now and then so Eloise has something to clean up.  If you can manage to spill something sticky, that would be even better.  She'd really have some scrubbing to do.  And order up so Verna has some work to do.  We don't want to keep paying them for nothing and we sure don't want to fire them.
