Callie, wish I'd known about the water pill before.....all my son kept saying was, "keep
hydrated, Mom, have another bottle of water!".  The friend we used to meet that lived
in CO used to warn us to drink more water & eat salty foods, peanuts, etc.  ya think I'm
my own worse enemy?  Boy, our kids could give us heart failure with their episodes of
"never happened before".  I will try the B-vitamin that is a water pill... "natural"
things like vitamins don't have side effects on me. Thanks for the info.

Another day, I've drained the fresh water tank, did I mention that I put too much Clorox in
the tank, rised but not enough & water was more like swimming pool water so strong..icky.
I carry gallons of fresh city water anyway & gallons of Brita pitcher water for coffee & cooking
plus at least a case of bottled drinking water. Kinda picky about my water.  RV tank is
cleaned, & rinsed again & full for the next trip in a couple weeks.  It is in the upper 80s but
feels like much worse.  Cool front for next week (AH, YES!)

Hal, glad you "breezed" through the procedure & doing okay.  Be good to yourself today &
next few days, the body had more abuse than you realize.  Who knows what they did while
you were sleeping.  When Cas was in to have his heart "zapped" to get both sides in sync,
I was asked to keep him company until time for the procedure, then ushered out of the room.
Nothing had been explained except they would shock him with the paddles, but the nurse
explained after that they had tried several times with the paddles "that raised his body off
the bed", but then used his defibrillator pacemaker a couple times & it worked, but "he
would be sore for a few days."  The doctors did not explain this to him so he was concerned
next day because he felt like he'd been run over by a 2 ton truck!  Actually relieved when I
told him what the nurse had said.

This (23rd) is/was our anniversary.... married back in 1954 at 19 & Cas was 21.  No regrets, I
would not want to change anything, life was not perfect but any change would not have given
me the life I have today.  I am happy, satisfied, content.  Still have lots to do on that bucket
list but "God willing", will get around to many or most of them.  Now if I had a choice, I would
not be tormented with a swimming pool & cats, but..... I will take care of what I must.

Anyone have an idea how a pool could fill to lapping over the top? When I left the water was
so low it was about an inch below the row of tile you see around pools.  Neighbors said we
only had a little rain once while I was gone, not enough to show up in the rain gauge ... quite
a mystery.  Hope to get it drained & painted before winter, so it will not be damaged by the
freezes.  We didn't get the job done last spring & a royal pain in the neck to find enough dry
days to prepare to paint & more dry days while it "seasons".   Been in this house sincee 1988
& tried everything to cover for winter.  All agree you can't let it be empty or it will "float up"
being in sand, & would cost a lot more to crack out & fill in.  The concrete around would be so
hot during summer it would have to be removed.... we considered every option & fact is, it
would be cheaper to sell, move & that isn't an option because no other area has this river for
a back yard.  So I whine, thanks for listening (if you got this far!)  Things to do.

CallieOK

Shirley,  please do not take water pills for Colorado trips unless  a doctor tells you to do so .  Chuck had been medically  diagnosed with an uncommon problem.that had nothing to do with staying hydrated.  Reducing fluids could easily put you in much worse trouble.

JaneS

SHIRLEY, I've driven by some houses with for sale signs on them and thought to myself, "That's a nice house and the landscaping is nice and there's even a fence around the yard for the dogs."  and my next thought is, "Boy!  I sure hope Cathy doesn't see that.  It's a lot closer to her house and I REALLY don't want to move again."

I think I'm here to stay until I can't have my say any more.  And I'm just stubborn enough to keep having my say till I answer to the only one who can tell me what to do and when to do it.

This is my "condiment weekend".  I have a batch of salsa done and a batch of Amy's mustard and tomorrow I'm going to make barbecue sauce.  I've been out of my homemade since about May and the stuff you buy in the stores just isn't the same.  I need to buy one more ingredient and I'll get that on my way home from church tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day today.  It did get up to the mid 80s but even with the canner going, I didn't need the a/c.  There was a lovely breeze and my open windows were on the right side of the house to catch it.

Now I'm going to take inventory and make my list for tomorrow.  They have a nice fluffy bathrobe at WM for 20 bucks and I'm trying to convince myself that I really NEED it!  It would be so nice and snuggly on a cold winter night!  Help me someone!

But if he talked to me I am not aware of it.  I felt nothing or heard nothing and there were five people in my operating room.

Jane, go for it.  When winter comes, you'll be so thankful that you bought the robe.

Shirley

Oh, Hal!  I had to stop watching when the Doc pulled that foot long needle out  :o  I had no idea how it was done, but am pretty sure what my friend's husband had done a few months ago & absolutely thrilled with the results.  His Doc had never offered/considered that solution to his pain that alsmot had him bedfast (except he couldn't get comfy in bed) so his son started researching & talking to everyone about different procedures & came up with looks like the same thing.  Such a shame more doctors aren't aware of this "fix" or cure.  Hope it ends all that pain for you.

Jane, get the robe!  I found one that is like heavy sweatshirt fabric, even a hoodie... and grab it first thing in the morning since I am alone & can't wait to put it on in the evening.... all winter long.  Being snug is also a state of mind that gives peace when we are weary of the world.  Love to taste your salsa.... a favorite food.  What all do you put in yours?  When I fix cheese enchilidas I make a cross between salsa & sauce that everyone loves to dip chips in, just my own recipe~.

Callie, no sweat, I never take pills of any kind but do know one of the B vitamins works like the water pilll only not so strong or fast.  A natural way.........  but I will give that a try & run it by my doctor.  He has an open mind about using vitamins & natural ways.

Jjoy, I had a note to tell you something up on the other computer.... and can't remember what it was.  I've been unloading the RV, had to put the slide out to get to the clothes cabinets & drawers, must have made 50 trips in & out since I brought in the stuff, like pots & skillets to use on the propane stove in CO & will take out the electric skillet & other appliances I use in MO.  I think I should tell my kids, "NO more camping equipment."  Got so many toys to drag in & out, nice but not everyone's choice.  Joan thought I was nuts every time I went camping.   :crazy2:

Just had a call from my old cheerleading buddy that was given 6 months to live about a year ago.  Wrong diagnosis & the last one doesn't make it terminal, but because he has been confined so long without physical therepy, he is never going to get out of the wheel chair now.  But he is not complaining, we talk old times & about people, we were just friends & never dated so no hang ups.

I'd better go check on cats, want to trim my hair before another shower & washing it for Sunday.  SO hot in & out today, feel like I can scrape the dirt off.  That's my day.... I'm pooped.
:hot:  :hot:

June Drabek

Hal, I am assuming your procedure was a great success then? I pray so. I'm doing o.k. too. Can't seem to get enough sleep, but that's better than not not being able to sleep. I would make very poor company for anyone that is alert. Tomorrow is a new day , and I hope to get down for Chapel services...even wrote my check so that is optimism.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

halkel

Unfortunately the procedure is not a cure.  About 8 months they say.  But it can be repeated.  And I said it is pain free although it looks otherwise.

JaneS

Sounds like Everyfriend is doing as well as can be expected.  You all have given good reports.  Even SHIRLEY should be clean and clipped by now.  I'll be off to bed in a few minutes.

SHIRLEY, my neighbor with the garden has been sharing all season so when she gives me things, I eat what suits me and prepare the rest for salsa.  There are tomatoes, onions, peppers (one or two hot ones to a batch) and lots of spices.  My family has come to expect it as part of their Christmas gift.  So far, I haven't had to buy jars but I'm running low on the size and shape I use for the salsa.  I like a size that they can use as a server if they want to.  If I make it next year, I suppose I'll have to buy jars.

And now, Good night Everyfriend and may you sleep well and peacefully and may God bless us, every one.

Amy

Good morning everyone...

Too dark out to see what the day will be like. I did see the stars when the dogs when out this morning though.

A day of rest here, maybe I can finish off the quilt I am working on, just need to sew the rows together and make the binding.

Jane I hope you bought the robe!! Did you manage to get all that you wanted done yesterday?

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's going to be a hot one today.  Supposed to get up to 91 today!  That's HOT for this time of year!

We're in wait time for Annie's pill and I think I'll get my shower and get dressed while I'm waiting.  I'll be off to church at 8 and then I want to stop at the Farmers Market and WM on the way home.

Amy, you asked if I got everything done yesterday.  I did but I still have to make barbecue sauce today and I'm short one ingredient.  I also found a place on line to get mustard powder in bulk....anything from 5 ounces to 10 pounds and it's not expensive.  But I remember you said something about the bulk powder you bought but I can't remember what it was.  I'm not purchasing until you remind me.  This place has all kinds of mustard from seeds of all varieties to ground of all varieties.

No I didn't buy the robe yet but you've all pretty much convinced me I should.  I'll look at it again and if I feel you all behind me, I'll get it.  This kind of house tends to be drafty in the winter and it's cold letting the doggies in and out.  See how I'm convincing myself?

I'm just waiting for the coffee to finish and then I'm going to go get dressed.  You all have a great day.

I love how Amy tells us all she had a "day of rest" coming up on Sunday and then she tells us what she going to DO!  And while it sounds enjoyable, it's NOT rest!

Thanks Amy!  The website I found is called SPICES, INC.  Maybe you'd have time to take a look at it.  I'm not going to order until sometime this afternoon.  Right now, I'm going to feed the doggies and let them out again and then I'll be off to church and the after church shopping.  I hope Jack stays away today and you have an enjoyable day.

Good Sunday morning !

A beautiful sunny day out my window this morning.  Another day up in the 80's.  Unfortunately,  by the end of the week,  Fall will be making an appearance.  My oldest son has a big family/friends party on Saturday, so we are all hoping that the hurricane, Maria, will be out to sea by then.  The cooler temperatures will be ok......... just let the rain stay away.  He has been having this party for a long time now, and it seems that many times, hurricanes have threatened to postpone it, but so far, he has been very lucky.  So, hoping for that luck to happen again this year.  There is always lots of good food and fun.  And, a chance to see friends and family who we don't get to see very often.  Everyone looks forward to getting together.

Nothing much happening in my little corner of the world today.  Just will be enjoying this beautiful weather.

Jane, I sure hope we have all convinced you to get the robe.  As Shirley mentioned, Being snug is also a state of mind that gives peace when we are weary of the world and, nothing is as snuggly as a nice, warm robe when the snow is flying all around outside,.  LOL

Hope everyone will have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Cloudy out this morning, which is normal here, we get the old Gulf scud in the mornings, normally clears up around 11AM.

Have to get myself ready I am off to church here pretty quick, well not that quick, but around 9.  Missed last week but feel energetic for a change.  Old back feels pretty good.  I just hope this is what I have to look forward to for a few months, anyhow.  And this isn't just the lidocane that hasn't worn off yet.

My kids are going home this morning.  I hope I get to see them after church.  Hopefully they aren't in a big hurry.

Janie, get yourself a gift, buy the robe and enjoy.  You wont regret it.

Everyone have a great day.  I have to get in the bathroom and get myself presentable for church and dig some decent clothes out of closet.
