Gloria, move over girl, I am in the same shape as you. Woke up all tired out.

Gloria de. my dear one, you need to hire a care giver. Ask your  Dr. about recommending one and give him the reason for your needs. You should not be left without that anti-biotic !!!!!!
As long as we are here, let's dance.

? do anyone live in or near Easley SC. if you do let me know I will give you a exact address.

Amy

We have had rain off and on all day here, in some areas they had  a thunder storm. The high light of my day was seeing a female cardinal.....we don't have any here but in the city they do..beautiful bird!!!

As Janie would say I am all in but my shoe laces and all too soon they will be coming off.

Gloria,June hope you both feeling better.

Hal is MIA???

Carol

Thank you ever so much - all those birthday greetings.  Feeling privileged.

Shirley:  A pox on that teacher who stole your daughter's research!  Don bought a new Epson 400 at Best Buy for $49 and he will use alternative ink fillings - for that price, it is cheaper to buy the entire new machine and recycle the used one.  He couldn't get the ink area unplugged like he usual.

Am a little irked at Apple corporation - they upgraded the software used at our libraries and guess what - all of a sudden our two iPod are too "old" to be used.  They are so expensive to buy the latest models too.  We listen to audio books when walking or sometimes driving in the wide open spaces.  And, I will listen to simple things when sewing simple things.   ::)

I second Amy's thoughts on Gloria and June feeling well again - soon.  Amy:  What kind of a sewing machine do you use?  I am using a Bernina 440 now - but have a 1940 something Singer featherweight too.

June Drabek

Amy and Carol, thank you both for your good wishes. I finally dragged myself into the shower, but I couldn't wash off the weariness. All my blood tests and xrays show I am in good shape, so it must be plain old aging. I just get a lot of shortness of breath and that makes the weakness set it. I just hope I wake refreshed tomorrow as I want to go to my son's Bible class.

how are you doing Gloria ? much better I hope.

Gloria de, were you able to get your meds taken care of ? I pray so.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I think yesterday caught up to me today.  I came home from work exhausted and did a few little things then took a nap.  I still feel a bit wiped out so I'm going to go to bed early.

With that said, Good night Evryfrined.  Sleep peacefully and may God bless us, every one!

Greetings everyone!

Well it must be contagious. the lousy, feeling down feelings.  I woke up this morning and it reminded me of days gone past, I felt like I had been on a three day drunk.  And never did get to feeling much better.  My old legs have no strength at all.  I haven't had a drink for years.

Anyhow, I hope we all get up in the morning with all the weariness gone and full of pep

Lloyd, I tried to sign in on my IPad today on my Uverse account and it said I had all the wrong information, user name and password, then tried to get in to reset password and things went downhill from there.  I ended up on support chat with ATT and finally got signed on but not before my email account, att account was messed up.  Finally got it all fixed but spent the afternoon on computer and I really didn't feel like messing with it. Hope you got your computer fixed.

I am off to bed, Good Night everyone, God Bless and Sweetdreams.

June Drabek

Janie, I hope you have a good nights sleep and wake feeling strong and fresh

Hal, Perhaps you are still recovering from your time away. You are still so young, it makes me sad to have you feel punk.

I feel better tonight, so hopefully I will get down for my sons Bible class tomorrow. God willing. I pray we all sleep very well this night and wake rested and ready for the new day.  God's best Blessings to all.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Shirley

I'm putting in the extra hours tonight, had a nap today & between last night & nap, I got over 7 hours sleep, kind of over the top for me.   Don't have much to show for my day, did get the 4" egg crate type mattresses treated with the special stuff ordered from Amazon, to eliminate any odor from CallieCat marking her space on them (cut one twin size in half when we needed a soft place for son's old dog to be comfy on the drive to St.Louis last year).... I sprayed them with the hose good & then sprayed with the treatment stuff, let it sit a while and washed off again with water. No smell now!  Only used one for the animals so still have one for a single bed.

Have a pair of twin size that came out of the Rialta when I put it back to original condition. The "couch-bed" covers only fit over original mattresses & I was pleasantly surprised that the front captain chairs & side chair had not faded at all from the large bolster backs & covers that had been inside ever since we bought that Rialta in 1998, we picked it up at the factory.  I always kept the windows covered with sun shades.  For myself, I wanted the beds ready to hop in any time the zzzzzzzs called my name.  Loved it.

Still have a load of towels in the dryer & then to bed.  Hope everyone has a peaceful sleep & wakes up bright eyed & bushy tailed!  Shirley

JaneS

I'm up and the doggies have been out.  Annie had her pill and I have fresh coffee.  Now we're waiting for the hour to be up for Annie's pill.   I do feel somewhat better this morning.  We'll see what transpires as the day progresses.

I have another 6 to 10 shift to work tonight so I'm planning to keep a relatively low profile most of the day.  I have to dispose of my trash and make dog food but everything else can wait if it must. I might throw a load of laundry in the washer at some point.

I hope the rest of you woke up chipper and ready to meet the day!  Make it yours whatever you do!

Good morning everyone.

Love this cooler weather, 50° out there at the moment!! Have to take my van in for an oil change this morning, then I hope to put some pies together. Maybe just freeze pie shells for later but I want ot make hubby a lemon pie today.

Hal, I hope your feeling a lot better today.

June, may today be a lot better for you.

Gloria, the same goes for you and you find your energy today.

Gloria de ,I also hope you got your antibiotics.

Shirley, I bought the second bed for these girls and wouldn't you know it they both go to the old one.Costco had nice round fluffy beds and I thought they would enjoy each having their own.

Jane, hope you got a good nights sleep, knowing you,you have a lot on the go today.

Carol, my go to machine is my Janome 6600. but I do have a few more I also have a Featherweight. Will try and write them all down one day.

Lloyd, hope today is a better day for you also.

Larry, I enjoy salads and my hubby loves a bean salad .Another meals I enjoy is a stew ,soup or crockpot dinner.

Better get a move on here.

I see Janie is here....good morning to you :)

Enjoy your day every one.

well the sun is bright 59º and going fot 76º today so should be a good day.
have a full day planed running around getting things in order. Have a great day everyone.

Mary Ann

Amy I had to smile when I read about your girls going for the old bed rather than the new ones.  This isn't quite the same, but Annie bought Kendrick a new scratch pad that has sides to it so the loose stuff doesn't go all over the floor.  He also has a bed and a tower.  The first thing he did when he saw the scratch pad was lie down in it.  Now, when he comes into the house from the deck, he goes directly to the scratch pad, scratches, then lies down in it for a while.  The next time I see him, he might be in his bed or on the tower, but he often is in the scratch pad and it's just the right size for him - and he's a big cat.

I've just finished my shower and washing my hair and I'm not sure I'm awake yet.

Hi everyone. We are in for another very hot day.  We got no rain yesterday and none expected today.  I plan on staying in until later this afternoon.  I did fix Pat's breakfast and emptied the dishwasher.  In a little bit I need to grind up another pound of cheddar cheese and fill my medicine boxes for the next two weeks. I think that will be about all the work I will do today.  Late this afternoon we will go to Texas Roadhouse for our dinner.  I think I will have to get a takeout to bring home for Pat as her back is giving her fits again and she doubts she will want to get out this afternoon. We might just order take out meals for us all and then share them at home.

Lloyd, that is really a lot of rain.  I heard that some areas in the Kansas City area had up to 9 inches and resulted in some bad flooding.  Hope you found a good Western movie to watch yesterday. I live in South Carolina but not near Easley.

Gloria, we had a Jonathan apple tree on the farm where I grew up and wow were those good just off the tree.  Jonathan's must not have much of a shelf life as don't remember seeing them in the super markets.

deAngel, I hope you are now ahead of that infection as you sure don't need to have that to make you feel even more tired. How frustrating to have the druggist not be able to fill it and let that infection have even a longer head start.

Amy, it sounds like you overworked yesterday.  Hope you got a good nights sleep.

Carol, here we have to pay a $25 dollar fee to the city to have TV's, computers, printers and such disposed of.  If you have an iPhone you should be able to download audio books from your library using it and perhaps that would provide an alternative. I see that Apple is discontinuing the iPod.  Pat also has the Bernina 440 and a 1950 model Singer Featherweight.

June, I hope you will feel like attending the Bible class that your son will be teaching today.

Hal, I wonder what happened that caused the AT&T mess up with your signing in.  Hope you are feeling stronger today.  I think you sent the weariness up this way.  :)

Shirley, glad your odor treatment worked.  I know you take very good care of your things as indicated by the condition of the original Rialta coverings.

Jane, I thought you indicated you were going to eliminate the evening shifts.  I hope you do take it easy until work time this evening.

Amy, we also like the stew, soup or crock pot dinners. The easier to prepare the better.

Mary Ann, it sounds like Annie made Kendrick's day with those new items.

JaneS

LARRY, I am planning to eliminate the late evenings but the schedule is made up ahead and once it's finalized, it's difficult to change so I'm finishing out whatever was already done.  I also think I was much more tired due to the bug I'd picked up but didn't know I  had.  We'll see, tonight!

I'm taking it easy today.  I have the P.F. Chang dinner cooking and I'm having my main meal around noon or so.  Then I'll take a ham salad sandwich along to work with me and eat it on my break.  I think eating right is part of the secret when we work odd hours.

I hope you are all having a great day.  I hope those of you with pain find ease and those who are tired get some much needed rest.  I also hope those of you who are well stay that way.  I wonder how Joanie is!  And where's Joy?

Good morning, we have both rain and now cloudy   the weatherman said we will have sun the PM.

Hal, I hope you feel better to day.

I was waiting for my nurse, but I just got a call that she cannot make it but another nurse will come, later this afternoon.

Carol, I also have a Singer Feather wait, I bought in  1945.  Love it, and it still works beautiful.

June, I have very bad shortness of breath, but the doctor said it show I have a hiatus hernia up in my chest, which cuts off my lungs.  To bad we do not live close, we could compare notes everyday.  Hope you got to church service.

Amy, I think the microwave, and crock pot were two great inventions.  they are the reason I can say I still cook.

MaryAnn last week, Taffy decide she was not going to sleep on the bed in the daytime, now she has taken up with the couch.

Larry, it was late yesterday when I finally got my anabolic , now my leg is really red around the wound If the drug store had called the doctor in the morning it would have been straightened out, as I do not take the drug in question

Good Morning Everyone!

feeling much better this morning, just brought the garbage can in and got it put up and fixin to go in and shower and shave.

Well, the weather folks are all in dither and going on about a tropical depression out in the gulf and they expect to make into a hurricane and all the spaghetti models sow it headed to San Antonio and possibly stall out somewhere around here and we will get torrential rains.

We can use the rain, but no floods.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Got my oil change, washed the van and dried it,didn't wax it this time. Did the trimming around the lawn. Made my lemon pie  and froze shells for two more pies.

Amy, I am tired again, but that may be the norm for me now, so I will not complain. I did go down for my son's Bible Class. He spoke on the Beatitudes and I was so engrossed in all he said, it wore me out just digesting his words. So I came home and collapsed in my recliner for half an hour. I plan to go down soon for lunch with my friends, and then the afternoon is free to do as I choose. Probably read and nap.

Janie, Is it possible if you could ask for just a three hour shift at night in stead of four hours. I thought you had tried that last week and it worked out better for you, or did I misunderstand ?

Larry, Johnathans are my very favorites apple, but I understand they bear fruit early and that is it…no second bearings. I may be wrong but that is as I recall. I did enjoy my son's Bible class but I concentrated so hard it wore me out. He is a great teacher and draws a goodly amount of people.

Had to cut this short and get downstairs to lunch. Now I am home again and ready for a nice nap.

I hope Gloria pops in soon.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

JUNE, I think you misunderstood.  4 hours is the shortest shift I can get but I did go in at 3 p.m. last week and it was pretty good.  Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I'm off to feed the puppies and then off to work.

AMY, I used to have a phone number for Gloria but it's from before she moved.  I tried the cell phone number but it says it's not a working number.  Don't know what else to do.

Denver

Good afternoon.

I have been going through boxes of STUFF all day long and it makes me a wreck!  Lots of old pictures and stuff of the boys from their school days.  This is a job that needs done, but it sure gets me down just doing it!

Sorry to see GLORIA is missing today.  Maybe it is the day her apartment was to be painted?  What ever the reason I do hope she is OK and will be back with us soon.

Yesterday was our oldest grandsons 12 birthday.  We went to dinner at his house, watched him open his gifts then had cake.  It was a fun evening.  His mom and dad fixed BBQ'd pork ribs, beans and homemade corn muffins.....Matt's choice and it sure was yummy.

SHIRLEY, do you ever take a day off to just rest?  It seems you always have a big project going on.

JANE, I hope your shift goes smoothly and quickly tonight.

LARRY, enjoy your dinner time with Scott and Jennifer.

JUNE, glad you got to go hear your Gary this morning.

GLORIA de, happy you got started on the antibiotics....what a shame you could not get started yesterday.

HAL, I do hope you are feeling much better today.  I do not know how long my neighbor Pam will be in the rehab place, but they told her to plan on being gone at least three months total.  She is to move there tomorrow and it will be six weeks since her surgery on Friday.

It is getting really dark and gloomy out, so I guess a storm is moving in.

Off to fix some dinner.

Well, the weather guessers are now saying that Harvey is coming on shore at Corpus Christi and going to stall somewhere between the coast and here.  Victoria Se of us and the could receive up to 30 inchs of rain.  then they qualify it by saying but everything could change cause it won't be coming in till Friday, they think.

Oh well it gives us something to talk about.

Carol

Apple is on my list as being consumer unfriendly money-grabbing stuffed ego list.  They change things so suddenly our very enjoyable iPods are obsolete.  We like to listen to "free" audio books downloaded from the library (where we are the taxpayers, by the way).

Otherwise, how is everyone feeling?  Good, I hope.  Gloria de, Amy, and Larry's Pat all have classic Singer featherweight sewing machine.  Don't you love the clickity-click sound?

Hal:  You are about to have some heavy rain - I am predicting - take care.  Maybe you will be somewhat spared since you are a bit from the water.

Amy:  You are so aware - you could be a plane spotter.  That is a family joke but in reality, Don's grandmother actually was a plane spotter in very northern Minnesota in WWII.  A fact.  You would be good at that too.  :)  I am still putting together a quilt top and almost half way through.  It take forever.

Jenny:  Are you purging the stuff?  Thankful that our daughter took all the pictures one year and put them on the computer plus printing for each of us.  What a wonderful thing -
Someone has asked for a book from our class reunion and I am volunteering to send it to them - in Seattle so that will be one thing gone for good.

JaneS

I'm home and I'm NOT exhausted!  I guess I really was ill that last time I had a 6 - 10.  Tonight was pretty easy.  I'm tired but no more than usual and I met some pretty nice people tonight.

I'll be off to bed pretty soon so...

Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

Carol, my mother was also a plane spotter during WWII.  She would spend her hours at night on top of the court house, I'm guessing others were there at the same time.  We were 20 miles from a SAC base & on the main highway between Kansas City & St.Louis.  She memorized all the various shapes of all planes in use, by us & foreign.  She also helped "roll bandages".  Not sure where they got the fabric or how it was steralized, but she volunteered to help in any way she could.  She would call the local Red Cross and ask them to send over 2 or 3 service men to have Sunday dinner with us.  We had chickens and she managed to save enough food rations to share, because she felt that "if she fed someone else's sons, maybe somebody would feed hers".  It was really tough when my oldest brother was in the German POW camp, we heard about their starving... and one of the Air Corp guys looked a lot like my brothe.  Mother would slip away from the table to get something out of the kitchen, so she could wipe the tears out of her eyes.  Lots of love and caring in my growing up years, something you never forget.

Hal, hope you don't get the flooding & your kids are high & dry.  I just checked with my brother in KC area, they didn't have any trouble.  We missed the rain so I ran the sprinkler system this morning.

Jenny, we all hate to think of nobody wanting what we treasure, my kids are all sentimental but finding their kids don't want to be keepers of these antiques.  When I am ready to pass them on it is with the instructions that "anything given to them cannot be sold.  If they don't want to keep to pass on it must be offered to any other member of the family or donated to the historical society/museum in the country in MO where the items came from."  I have my gr-mother's first math book (she was born in 1871), McGuffy readers from Dad (1898) & his brothers, other books from my gr-parents on furniture building, gardening, etc.  Some day my great-great grands may be taking them for "show & tell."  One history book starts with "It has been 20 years since the end of the war (the Civil War)..... "  The thoughts of that era passed on to someone that remembers vividly WWII years.  I find these things fascinating and can't imagine they won't be treasured 50-100 years from now, if they are saved.

So much for sitting here thinking..... Several posts later.   ::) Getting late, cats had their late night snack & lounging in the pool area.  Sweet dreams to all and God Bless.  Shirley

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Love this cooler weather. Bet I won't be saying that when I dance with the snowblower in the winter!

Have an easy morning then after lunch  heading to the city to hear how the chemo worked then straight back home.

June, glad you went to the Dr.they can keep an eye on you when you're feeling tired.

Shirley, your mother was an amazing lady to do all that.bless her.

Jane, glad you got the upper hand on the late night shift. That bug is going around here too David called and said for us not to go visit them as daughter in love has it now.

Carol, what pattern are  you doing?

Hal,hope you just get a nice rain and no flooding.

Larry, when my head hits the pillow it is lights out for me. I do get nights that I just can't get to sleep .

Gloria de, I use my crock pot and microwave a lot ..

Lloyd, hope you are feeling better today.

Denver.....wow  13..you do know next is 16  and they want to learn to drive. We have one already 16 and another that will turn 16 soon. I don't know where time has gone.

Better get a move on here.
