Good morning everyone..

Cloudy with a thread of rain today. Washing down walls and ceilings is now telling on me.Wow I must have more muscles than I thought as they are all telling me they are here. Then I helped hubby with bagging up the lawn rakings.

Not sure what I am going to do today at the moment, would like to carry on with Spring cleaning but we shall see.

Gloria, you beat the roosters this morning. Hope you can grab some zzz'x later on.

Jane, you're amazing. getting all done that you want to do.

Jenny, your son will find another job and hopefully closer to home for you. This is a trying time all over and I pray it will be over with soon.

Sandy, make the mask and us it next time you venture out. I saw a lady in the grocery store the other day and she had a plastic shield on. but no mask and I think she should have had both. I wear my mask and my glasses so mouth, nose and eyes are covered.

Everyone one is doing the social distancing but some just don't get it. They are quickly told by the cashiers when they don't pay attention to the signs.

Stay safe and have a great day everyone.

It is a little cloudy here this morning but still will be another warm day....near, or in, the low 80's.  We were supposed to get some rain yesterday but it didn't happen.  The pine pollen is really heavy this year....everything is yellow.  I suppose if I went outdoors and stood still long enough I would be yellow, too.  ;D

Gloria, I am sure your CNA is really good and I'm glad you have her back but in my area right now even she couldn't buy what isn't on the shelf!  I was sort of laughing with the grocery store "picker" when she called to tell me of some unavailables/substitutions.  She said she was very sorry but there was no yeast and I said that I didn't think there was any yeast or toilet paper anywhere in the world!  I used one of the last 2 pkgs. of yeast I have for a loaf of bread yesterday.  We're doing OK.  We are just having to adapt a little bit.  Actually I'm beginning to like tortillas as a lunchtime sandwich wrap.  ;D

I am another bread baker that just uses the bread machine for mixing and kneading.  I take it out to shape it and let it rise and then bake it in the oven.  I like the result much better.  And the kneading doesn't hurt my hands and arms when the machine does it.

Take care, All.

I made myself the BEST bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwich for lunch!  I did it all myself from cooking the bacon to slicing the tomatoes to eating the whole thing!  the only bad part was leaving the dirty frying pan for cathy.  I put it to soak and I'm going out and see what I can do before she gets here  we shall see.

I hope everyfriend is having a good day.

Yesterday, daughter asked what I had done.  Told her "nothing", she said so you were a sloth.  I said "absolutely".  Today, I had to tell her I was a "busy old broad".  Went to bank, drive thru, (lobby closed); sneaked into Dollar General for candy bars (hadnt had chocolate in days and days. Came home.  Weeded and cleared dry plants out of my front porch flower bed, which is full of "Moses in the Bullrush" (can't think of real name, but my mom always called them that).  With all this rain we are having, they are about a foot tall (and I had cut them back during winter).  Changed and charged the battery in my Ring doorbell. Took the electric blanket off my bed (king-sized and quite a chore).  I think I'm tired now.  Maybe tomorrow I'll be a sloth again, as it's supposed to rain.  Today we set a record of 97 degrees.  Never been that hot in April, past record was 93.  I had to turn the A/C on for a few minutes but it's off now.  I can't sleep with the A/C running, just too cold for these old bones.  I wish I were seeing more birds, but only the brown grackles and some crows are out picking at something.  The squirrels were in the backyard digging for lost treasures. This one was so funny, he heard me open the sliding door, and just flattened himself on the patio, thinking I couldn't see him!  LOL, his tail was doing the swishing back and forth so you couldn't miss him. Before I quit blathering, yesterday I had this "ear worm" of a piece of music, I think it was from a Disney movie but don't know why it came into my head and Ijust kept singing and humming it.
Sala gadoola, mitchee kaboola, bippety boppety boo. Put em' together and what have you got?  Bippety boppety, boo".
Well, on that note, I'll wish you all a pleasant good night or early morning, depending on your time zone that shows up here! Just for fun it is 10:48 PM, Wednesday, April 8th, where I am.

Denver

"Bippety boppety, boo" to you, too, TOMREADER!  I think I have to relate to being a sloth on occasion as well!  Seems you had a good day with many accomplishments.  We won't be taking our heater blanket off the bed yet, as we will be in the low 30's by the weekend with snow in the forecast.  Mind you, we have been in the 70's the last few days here in the Mile High City.....fickle weather🤣🤣

Our day started out with watching a man come and take out the stump of the tree that recently fell with our last heavy snowstorm. Bob hand dug out several big clumps of unwanted broad leaf grass in our lawn.  What a job!

Talked to Diane, my Dads lady friend as today is her Birthday.  Tomorrow is my Dads 96th Birthday.  We were suppose to be in Arizona with him right now and I am sad that we are not😩😢

JANE, your bacon Sammy sure sounded YUMMY and good for you getting all done what it took to get it done AND even got the pan cleaned up!  Good for you💕

AMY, loved your graphic again today❣️  Thank you for the kinds words regarding my son.  They will indeed be fine and hopefully the next door that opens for him will be even better than the last!

Heading off to bed.....pleasant dreams to all.

Shirley

I woke up about 2:00 am but thought it too early to get up so lay in bed for an hour thinking. Boy, was that depressing! Seems everything around here has a problem that I can't fix. Not used to NOT being able to fix and what I couldn't, Cas could. On top of that, this will be the first Easter in at least 65 years that I haven't dyed eggs. My Dad loved Easter eggs and Mom would fix enough that he had one in his lunch bucket for at least a week or two after. He spent the last 7 months of his life in a nursing home after a stroke, so we took him a basket with eggs & candy and a little chicken that peeped when you held it on your hand. He was so pleased, had to help him peel one egg right away.

Jenny, know you are disappointed in not being with your father, tell him I send a very Happy Birthday from Kansas.

Tome, you hit a cord with that tune! Now you'll have everyone skipping to those words all day! I am so ready to get on with the next season but like Jenny, we have some freezing temps this next week end. Hope the fruit trees don't get ruined. I did get one thing done yesterday, ordered a baker's rack for the cat food. I am tired of hauling all those cans of tuna, salmon, cans of Friskies to the basement & back up every day. When I find Chicken of the Sea tuna or "people" salmon on sale, I stock up. They don't like but 2 kinds of the Friskies now and even Chewy was out of their favorite, so bought them 36 cans last time I found their favorite & been tripping over the "flats" by the basement door ever since.

Well, last cat showed up for breakfast so better serve them. We were in the 80s yesterday but much colder today. Be back later after the rest of my brain wakes up, and somebody else wakes up....

Gloria

Good morning everyone, rained yesterday and raining still.  Forsythia is starting to bloom so that is a sign that spring is here but it sure does not feel like it. Then still we have been having April showers most days of the month.
I did not do much yesterday but sleep. After breakfast I laid on the couch and slept for 3 hours. After my CNA left at 2 I laid on the couch again and the phone woke me after  5. Slept good last night, too.

AMY  when you get through your spring cleaning and miss it you can come here and do mine. Untill about  6 ot 7 years ago I would be washing walls and windows and every thjing I could see. I remember my MIL and helping her even take mattresses outside to air out.

PHYLLIS  so far I have bread-in the freezer. Don't eat it often so freeze half a loaf and use half. Of course with all the preserveatives in it these days it never gets hard or moldy.

JANE  amazing what we can do with one arm/hand. Like you the hilight of my day is coming here in the mornings and reading what everyone is doing. Makes me content to see what everyone is doing especially in these days of uncertainty. My CNA has to wear a mask and gloves but when she gets into my place the mask comes off. She has trouble breathing with it on but it is her  company's rules.

TOMEADER1 goodness that is an old song that got into your head. I think I must be the worse cloth around, I do not do much anymore. In the heat and humidity of summer I sleep with my AC on. If I shut it off I would not sleep because it would be too hot for me.

JENNY  I think when age creeps up we all become a bit like a sloth at times.

SHIRLEY  I thought of you aking early, having breakfast and going back to bed. That was me yesterday. Slept  hours with the TV on.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone..

Woke up to a winter wonderland!!What a shock that is...but..it is so pretty out there. Pines are wearing their lace dresses and everything is pristine....for a moment.

Need to cut fabric today and lots of it. My friend will be picking it up on her way to deliver what she has cut to give to her daughter. The daughter and her friends are making masks for senior homes.

Jane, now that is an accomplishment with just one wing.  Speaking of one wing we have a starling here with one foot but he uses his one wing for balance as he eats the seed on the ground.

Gloria, there are times our bodies need to catch up on sleep. We don't eat a lot of bread but every now and again like a Sammy, now thanks to Jane we may have a BLT for lunch.

Shirley, these dogs will like a food then seem to not want it. I try to keep different flavours of canned food on hand if I don't have some already made up.

Jenny ,Happy birthday to your Dad. I am doing a slow boil here. City people have been told to stay home, don't go to your cottage as small towns can't deal with the influx should they need to go to the hospital in the area. My friend used to say our hospital was 10 beds and a morgue, not far off the mark. Just read one came up from the city, stopped at a small country store and bought $1500.00 worth of groceries. People don't learn or care about others.

Better get moving here..

Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.

We are getting used to the new normal.  It was fun last evening looking at the full moon.  I heard yip yip sounds (like coyotes, then howling like wolves.  Actually, it was 8 PM and neighbors were howling at the moon instead of clapping as they do in the UK.  My howling isn't perfect yet.  All the dogs in the neighborhood joined in and it was hilarious to hear.  All for recognizing the health and safety caregivers.

Joy:  are you "human" today?

Jane:  We have "Arnica" in the house too.

Jenny:  Our church has devotions online - I imagine all of the churches around here are doing the same.  Cyber hug to you!

rutumi:  We have been to Oslo and some of my relatives children (adults) work in the city.  Lovely, I remember a open air concert area -

Tomereader:  Now, I can't stop that song.

Hang in there!  This too shall pass if we keep on keeping on.

Carol

I forgot the most important news.  Don cut my hair yesterday.  I sat down on the downstairs patio and he nervously clipped away.  He pass the barber's test and I don't look like a guy.   :D

JaneS

L'm here today but we had a major storm during the night and another one this morning. I was accompanied by a short power interruption and my computer is acting crazy ever since.  If you don't see me later that's probably why.

of course, today was the day I planned to pay my bills and I did manage that between quirks.

CAROL, send your barber over, at this point i'd trust a kindergarterer with a pair of blunt end scissors!

I hope you are all enjoying your day!

Meet me at the fence...neighbour phone and said.....

She came to the fence carrying a plastic bag and passed it over to me. Inside was her mother in law's sewing basket filled with priceless goodies.

Also included was a folder of knitting patterns that she used over and over again..

Inside the sewing basket was a lot of sewing items but one that stood out and made me smile was elastic!! Finding elastic here now is like finding hens teeth. I shall cherish this sewing basket.

Good morning everyone, ahh this is one of the mornings my coffee tastes great. With a Keurig I wonder why it doesn't always tastes this good. Same coffee and same measure of it every cup but some times it doesn't taste that good. Maybe my taste buds are wearing out? Nah, can't happen, CAN IT?

AMY  so you had some of that beautiful white stuff that I missed this past winter? Lucky you. I am so tired of all this rain and dampness and staying inside. I know that is what we are supposed to do now but at least we can go out and get fresh air and walk around the parking lot by ourselves. Goodness buying $1500 worth of food, must be some big party they were planning.  I feel like I am buying the store out when my son takes me once a year to stock up on things and I spend $200. Then I do not have much room to store much in here.

LLOYD  seens like you should not have moved your motorhome moved yesterday. Sorry you ran into something that cost you more than you want to spend.

CAROL  must have been a wild time with neighbors howling at the full moon. My daughter asked my SIL to cut her hair and he is thinking about it.

JANE  I am so glad my DIL called and asked me if I wanted a haircut and she came and cut it for me. I was ready to ask my CNA to use scissors to cut the worse ot it.

AMY  I would say your neighbor knows you and all the sewing you do. Great gift for you.

JANE  you must have spread Joan's Angel dust last night because I did sleep good.

Have a good day and stay safe.

1db60007-12d1-4cd4-b0c0-832e0ae0a021.jpgGood snowy morning everyone..

Yes, it is snowing again..........where did Spring go? I know I have been sleeping in but did I miss Summer and Fall??

Friends stopped back in yesterday to give me the Vitamin C her daughter picked up at Costco for us and she also gave us 2 doz  organic brown eggs! Such a treat!

Today is household duties one being cleaning the fridge and then go sew.

Gloria, please, you may have this snow. Yesterday it was so pretty on the trees but today I am more than happy to share. I can't imagine that amount of groceries.....how many buggies did they use? On the tv they are saying stay home as I am sure it is also on the radio but people don't listen. These are not kids either, grown, suppose to be educated people!

Bubble thank you for fixing that for me..

Better get a move on here

Shirley

Well, girls, will tell you that I've been cutting my own hair since about 8th grade. Back then it was as coarse as horse hair, enough hair for 3 heads & blue black it was so dark. I saw a photo in a magazine, first ever of this short hair. I'm sure it was awful when I got through, the gasps at school were enough to let me know I'd done something shocking. But it was such a relief to get all that weight off my head. My mother had a saying that, "if it wouldn't make a difference in 10 years, she didn't get upset." I let it grow out a few times since but it was more trouble than it was worth. I have always used a razor blade & could tell a difference if I did one snip with scissors... the blunt end from scissors would stick out until the next cut. I can count on one hand the times I paid to have it cut and (to me) it never looked right. Could hardly wait until it grew out enough to cut myself. Now that my eyes aren't as good, it is more pull each clump out & compare with the other side of my head & slide that razor blade down. No regrets, a shower & it's done for a few weeks. Just think of all the money I saved. Before I was 30 I started brushing in dye, the white hair stuck out like salt & pepper. In 20 years I was having to dye about every 10 days it grew so fast, looked like I was wearing a skull cap. So I started letting the front skip the dye & after a month or so let it all go white. My twin aunts were snow white as long as I could remember, before they were 30, Mother told me. Also remember my father's father in his coffin with a full head of snow white hair. Back in our genes the men went bald in their 20s so I was glad to just be white. At the latest funeral I noticed how many of my nephews had the shaved heads and the rest had hairlines receding way back. My own sons got the different types balding, one lost hair at the temples while the other started with the crown showing skin, both young when it started. So, that's my story of hair. Right now these cats are trying to shed their winter fur. Could make another cat with the fur floating around the floor. Do not think they would stand for a shave & haircut! Shut up, Shirley..... Gotta go eat breakfast.

This is Good Friday. Doubt if any of us ever had an Easter week like this before. Peace and love to each. Shirley

Joy

Good morning.  I thought I was here yesterday, but looked back and couldn't find anything that I had wrote.

I am trying to walk in the hallway several times a day.  Yesterday, I did make two trips down my hall and up the other way, twice. I got up early today as a nurse called last night and wanted to check come by before the week end. She did tell me that they will only come once a week starting next week.  I will also still have the PT.

It is very windy here this morning, but the sun is shining.

A friend sent me a link to a beautiful video that is so meaningful and giving hope right now.  I tried the link on another site and couldn't get it to come up.  SO, if you have time, please try to watch it.  It brought tears to my eyes.

It is a father and daughter singing the song "THE PRAYER".   It will make you feel better

Just google "MATT AND SAVANNA SHAW"  and it should come right up.  It isn't long and is just so beautiful.

Have a safe day.

Sunny and cool right now and snow is predicted.

Gloria:  I stopped drinking coffee several months ago and really miss it but must say I have no pain now.

Bubble:  How is everyone coping in your area of the world?

Shirley:  Red Rocks is famous for the Easter morning service right when the sun rises.  We used to live within walking distance of Red Rocks and our bedroom window had the same view to the east.  Loved that view with all the colorful rocks & blue sky.

Joy:  Great to hear you are moving - keep on keeping on.
