I see the spammers are out for another big payday with people receiving the stimulus payments. My spam folders have filled considerably with everything from gift card offers, porn, notices of emergency arrears, taxes due,  and sudden inheritances.

I wonder how many people will they fleece?

Amy, I left you and Kyle a gift in the What's for dinner folder.

Jane, I'm curious about what type of dog Cooper is? I'm just nosy as I see him as similar to Amy's pup.

I'm thinking of everyone having illnesses, accidents, and medical procedures. We seem to be having several right now, and I'm hoping for a good outcome for all!

JaneS

AMY, if David was in WilliamsBURG, VA he was about 10 hours drive from here.  If he was in WilliamsPORT, PA he was right up the street!

PATRICIA, Cooper is part Bichon and part Shih tzu and he's young and full of energy!  He keeps Mickie and me on the move!  I have a picture of me holding him.  If I can find it, I'll post it.  He's a real cutie.

I have the fixings for a breakfast casserole ready to put together tonight so I can bake it in the morning.  I cut it in half and I'm pretty sure I'll still have 3 or 4 breakfasts out of it.

Hope everyone is having a good day.  We were supposed to get drizzles but if we did, I didn't see them.  It's cloudy but not too cool with a high of 59.

Good Afternoon.  Remember me?  :)

No illnesses, accidents or medical procedures - just trying to catch up with various things that were too easy to ignore.

Good wishes and good recovery to each of those having any of these.

Family Easter went well.  I met Miss Emily's boyfriend and really liked him.  Too soon to tell how this will develop but they're having fun and he seemed very comfortable with everyone.  They all went on to "the other grandmother's" after being here and, from all reports, he had a good time with them, too.

Jane,  #1 son brought a breakfast casserole as well as what he called a French Toast casserole for Easter brunch.
Both were good - and I had leftovers for supper a couple of times this week.

Hoping Jenny's surgery is going/has gone well.

Shirley, so happy to know you're pleased with your cataract surgery.  Amazing how things improve without that yellow film, isn't it?

Patricia,  after several days of "sitting on the patio" weather, prediction is for temperatures almost at the freezing point tonight.  In between, we "might" have severe weather - but the gurus can't seem to figure out how close it will come to my area.

Off to bring my cell phone and Tablet up to Full Charge just in case...

patricia19

Callie, the weather for the past three years has been erratic worldwide. I miss the old days, the lazy, hazy days of summer, and all that daylight.

Good and sweeet dreams. God Bless us all.

Another day has come to an end!  I don't know where they all go so fast!  I get up and get dressed and before you know it, it's time to change back to the jammies and climb into the haystack!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow! And may God bless us, every one!

SORRY, CALLIE!  Doesn't sound like my wish for tomorrow will come true for you...you either PATRICIA!  But I'm sure you'll manage!

Amy

Good morning..

Going to be another fantastic day here then into rain for a few days.

We had a busy day yesterday, met our friends and exchanged items..she surprised me with 2 metres of fabric with dragon flies on it.

We picked up our cardboard. huge pieces that fridges come in and headed home.  The cardboard is now on the ground underneath the two trugs. he cardboard will kill off the grass etc and hopefully stop any growth. Today is pick up dirt and peatmoss to fill the trugs.

Jane it was PORT!!! I never know where he will be next.

Patricia, thank you!! Will print the recipe and try it ..
I think there is a song in lazy hazy days of summer :))

Callie, good to see you ...playing catch up is a job ! One thing leads to another and before we know it, time is lost to us. Glad you are ok.

Jenny ,hope your operation went well and you are on the road to recovery.

Lloyd , hope you have a good day your way.

Phyllis  and Joy hope you both are ok.

Better get my duds on and get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning! We've had breakfast and a walk and Cooper just arrived.  We're ready for the day but it's going to be a dreary one!  We have drizzles!

I put together a breakfast casserole last night before I went to bed and baked it this morning.  It was definitely "more-ish"!  I'm keeping that one.  I cut it in half and I'm sure there's still too much but it says it freezes well so I think I'll freeze a couple breakfasts for another time.

AMY, if David was in WilliamsPORT, he probably drove right past my house!  I'm about a quarter of a mile off Route 15 which is a major N/S artery and has lots of truck traffic.  I'd have waved if I'd known.

We need a visit from PHYLLIS, JOY, GLORIA and everyone else!  And I hope JENNY will be reporting in soon!

I wish you all a good day..better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

I'm here and fairly OK.  The weather has been warm and stormy around me but nothing over me.  Supposed to turn cooler again over the weekend.  Pollen dust over everything....it is very heavy this year.

I haven't been doing a whole lot.  I'm having a little trouble with walking and can't stay on my feet for too long without stopping to rest.  I'm supposed to see a specialist on the 22nd and lucky to get an appointment.  Every doctor is this area is so busy and some are not accepting new patients at all.

Take care, All.

A good morning from a cold minus nineteen Interior! So far, spring has skipped us this year with the beeps of snowplows and trucks going all night, each night, and some roofs collapsing. Warnings are out for people to not park on the roads overnight and to keep roofs cleared. Today is slated for a high of fifteen, and tomorrow we are told to expect the beginning of plus thirties and forties. I'm sure everyone will have a sigh of relief if that happens.

I envy all with the spring weather, even if it comes with rain. We've been mother nature's guinea pig for far too long! The doctor has said that he believes my continued leg pain is tied to my arthritis and the fluctuating barometric pressure, but even so, it's getting better. I've only been out twice for short periods via Senior Services and cannot stand still too long, but if I keep moving, I don't need my walker.

Jane, I put either green onions or chopped peppers in my breakfast casserole and freeze it with freezer ziplock bags. I've found they work better than freezer containers and save space if flattened before freezing.

I, too, miss Gloria and Joy, and while it was nice to see a post from you, Phyllis, I'm sorry to hear you also have issues but hopefully will have some relief before or after the 22nd.

Amy, we've been on lockdown for a year as of March. The only things open are essentials and few transportation options. We will have two to six new Covid cases a week and then an arbitrary jump to fifty a day. We also have the UK variant and the South Africa variant, as well as the usual strain. While they're now inoculating the under sixteen-year-olds, some fear that it will become a yearly issue.

However, we're told that we're covered for the variants two weeks after our second shot. Of course, we also have the crazies who believe getting vaccinated or wearing a mask is some attack on their American freedoms. Still, without allowed access to those few stores or places open or transportation without masks, they're limited to misspelled letters to the editor.

It seems we have a new member: Amulet.  I hope we see a post soon!

Amy

Busy playing in the dirt, getting the trugs ready is a tiring job!! I am sure all the work will be worth it in the end. Helped the neighbour get their trugs in their garden and folks drove in to inquire about getting a trug.

Jane, I have tried to get David to tell him but he must be out in the garage working on the truck.

Patricia, I would take some of your cold air ,working in the garden is making sweat happen! We also have the UK and other variants here also. Seems the young ones are now catching it and hospitals are jam packed with them.

Phyllis so good to see you and hope your legs will feel better.Just take it easy and don't try to do too much until you see your Dr.

Better go haul soil....fun fun fun...

Amy, about the old discarded trug soil from years past; are you able to reuse it in the compost pile?

Amy

Patricia, since there are 3 that have "old" soil in them I dug some out and put it in the bottom of the others to help build up the depth. I am calling it quits now for the day, will finish off with the laundry and that is it!!
I still have about 10  50 lbs bags of triple mix to put in but have put in30 so far......now I am tuckered.
It has been an awesome day weather wise and I am sure the bedding has blown dry long ago!!

Jane, I am...but saw my neighbour struggling with her soil so went over and helped her. We have three of her trugs just about ready.she needs more dirt.
Came home put two pieces of cherry pie on a plate and ran them over to her.

Now to shower and do nutthin!!

Shirley

Amy, I sent my 2 kids that put the trug together to ACE hardware for dirt.... they came back with 7 bags of "Miracle Grow soil for veggies" and I sent them back for a bag of peat moss... it all fit in the trug. I also have a bag of potting soil unopened & bought several varieties of Berpee's lettuce & endive to plant on either side of the tomato plants. Got the Early Girl & Big Boys in smaller containers but found one big plant that had blooms already on & bought it for the "center piece". It didn't even have the name tag in it but bought anyway! I'm going to spread a layer of the potting soil over each side to plant the seeds in & hope we don't have a dozie hail storm to ruin it all. Will be a very expensive garden, for sure. My son was worried the yard guys will beat the legs to pieces with the weed whip so was going to wrap the legs with a layer of tin... but I am going to trim around them myself. I was going to kill the grass/weeds under but it would be muddy so plan 2 sounds better. I read all the links you sent me & the kids just took over & I let them! I'm still not supposed to be bending over or lifting more than 5#, but I forget.  ::)

It was chilly this morning & I'm sleepy this afternoon. My daughter is off to visit with her grands, she went to soccer games this morning & I am just not up to all that activity. My eyes are seeing great except when the drops go in & have a nice blur for a while. Glasses from 4 or 5 years ago are working pretty good for distance but take them off to read anything. Still no solution for the mid-distance, like inside the house. The surgeon said must wait for several weeks before fitting new glasses.

Happy Spring to All!!!!

Amy

Shirley, sounds like you are all set! Now stand back after you have planted your seeds/ plants for they sure will grow with that mixture.

What all are you planting?

Please don't bend over, you don't want to undo what has been done and have to do it all over again.

Interesting...

"Milder conditions are on the way for Alaska for the new week, as the jet stream adjusts. After a high of just 20 degrees on Friday in Anchorage, and just 3 degrees in Fairbanks, afternoon high temperatures are forecast to soar back near 40 degrees on Monday, right around normal for mid-April.

But the cold air will have to go somewhere.

In the coming days, the extremely cold air is forecast to shift to the southeast across parts of western Canada and the northwestern United States. Temperatures are expected to fall so far Saturday night and early Sunday morning, that some record low temperatures could be challenged in major cities across the area.

Low temperatures on Sunday morning are forecast to reach 34 degrees in both Portland, Oregon and Seattle, which would challenge daily low record temperatures that were tied 20 years ago.

Cities like Salem and Eugene, Oregon, are forecast to drop below freezing. In addition to challenging records, some frost is likely outside of the city centers.

Temperatures are forecast to rebound quickly, with high temperatures on Sunday afternoon not far from normal. Warmer-than-normal conditions with temperatures in the upper 50s or lower 60s are likely again by Tuesday.

As the week progresses, the colder air will shift into the north-central United States into the middle of the week. Temperatures could end up as much as 25 degrees below normal for the middle of April."

AMY, now your shoestrings are in, too!

SHIRLEY, I bet you're all in but your shoestrings, too!

I have overnight company.  Frankie finally made it to spend the night and she doesn't have to work tomorrow so we have the day to do whatever!  She's been busy being a good friend to a couple of her friends...one who's in the process of moving, one who's car is in the shop and one with family troubles.  She's had plent of her own troubles and she knows how it feels so she gives of herself a lot.

I'm not sure what's up for tomorrow but we'll play it by ear!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good Morning Everyfriend!

Mickie and I were up at our usual time, a bit later than usual, she must be adjusting to DST by now.  We went out and she got her pill and when the boinger went off for breakfast, we let Cooper out of Frankie's room and then outside and then we fed both doggies and the old lady.  I had seconds on the breakfast caserole I made yesterday and it was just as good (maybe better) warmed up today.

It's raining here...not a drizzle and not a downpour....just steady rain coming down and wetting everything.  And I can't even complain because it's also making things GROW!

I wish you all a good day....better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

May SPRING soon SPRING into Alaska!

HAPPY SUNDAY
TO EVERYFRIEND 💐💐

I survived my surgery‼️‼️  Everything went great and the surgeon was extremely happy with how it all turned out.  The hospital was wonderful and I was pleased in totality with my care.  I had some issues with low potassium and sodium, but they filled me up with bags of both until  I thought I might pop with swelling in my hands....and it brought the numbers up enough to let me go home about 5 PM.  I was feeling great and planned to write a post last night when all of a sudden I hit a brick wall about 7 PM.  I hurt EVERYWHERE really badly.  I took their super doper meds  and managed to get through the night with a little rest!  This morning I have slowly but surely improved and am now comfortable with only taking the Aleve that I feel does me well.  Dr. Dave said if I need more pain coverage I can go back to the oxycodone tonight, but I HOPE I do not have to as I truly do not think it does that well for me.  I am like you, SHIRLEY,  I know how my body reacts and I need to do what I think serves me best!

Michele has remained in the ICU unit here near us at a hospital and her numbers are improving but still not good.  They are going to transport her this afternoon to the hospital where her back surgery is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.  It is still questionable if they are going to be able to get the blood corrected in time, but they are hopeful.  Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.  She needs them now more than ever🙏🙏

I love all the dirt and trug talk....just wish I were one of you two filling my trug with dirt too‼️‼️‼️ Love it!

I forgot to mention that I did have to come home with oxygen......this is pretty common here with the altitude.  They sent us with a bottle home then a company delivered a concentrator and extra bottles to us when we go to the doctor.

Have a good rest of your day, EVERYFRIEND.

Jenny that is good news!! Now take it easy and let your body rest. Prayers always for Michele, can not imagine all that she has come through .

Son called me from emerg and said he has a pulled hamstring, they gave him a shot  plus a script for med to take away the pain.

Today  little was done, due to rain coming we did take the garbage away. Maybe tomorrow I will finish up the garden.

Lloyd, where are you???

JaneS

RAY JENNY!!  I can almost "hear" the joy in your post that everything went well.  I know what you mean about the pain killers.  I dropped them as soon as I got home from the hospital after I broke my arm.  My daughter tried to give me one and I refused.  After some coaxing, I did take an Alleve and I slept better for it.

My prayers continue for MICHELE!  What a trooper she is!

I got a lot of paper work done, sent out 3 special birthday cards, washed up the kitchen floor...didn't make it to church, one more time.  I just get so worried when it's time to go.  Next week I'm going to force myself.  On line is OK but it's not the same as being there.

Frankie and I were talking today about a lot of stuff and Seniors& Friends came up.  I mentioned AMY and she asked me if I know what any of these people look like.  I showed her the picture of you, AMY, that's hanging on the wall in my office.  She took a good look and then looked at me and said, "She looks like a nice lady!  So there you are!

Now I'm heading for the haystack because my eyes have entered "slamshut" mode and I'm having trouble seeing through the lids!

Wonder where Gloria and Joy are!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!
