Good morning everyone...

No new snow this morning. Need to wrap the few remaining gifts today and hope to get in some sewing...we shall see.

Jane, prayers for all of you going through this , I know Jim has a lot going on but he didn't get this far in life by giving up. Yes He always listens.

Joy, yes it is the mustard powder that gives it the heat but tis so good in small amount. No slathering it ..a jar lasts a long time.

Jenny, yes will send it to you. I don't know if you can edit your post but take your email out saves you from getting a lot of spam. If you post an email, use genny.darling at comcast.net then they can't spam you.

June, glad you found your get up and go and enjoyed your day. Your supper sounds delicious, hope you enjoyed every morsel.

Still no Lloyd ????Hope all is well there.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Everyfriend!  Thank you for the prayers.  The news wasn't good last night and I haven't heard anything yet today.  Every time the phone dings, I cringe.  It helps to know you are all praying for the best for Jim.  Please remember Randall, too.  He is not doing well either!

On the up side, I'm down to 3 gifts left to wrap and the goodie bags are all done except for one bag and one thing in two other bags.  I'm going to finish them before I get dressed today.  I better hurry!

Amy and Jane,  Thanks for the little tips as to the "hotness" of the mustard.  I still plan to make some, but will take your advice about not using a lot of it at a time.  The more I hear about it,  the more that I do want to make some.  I know I have some dry mustard, but it would be too old, so I have it on my grocery list. I will have to check the recipe again just to make sure I have everything else.

I need to get myself going, as  I am going out a little after noon.   My son and DIL are taking me to a Celtic Christmas concert.  I am so looking forward to it.
Should be a fun afternoon.  Not sure if we will go out to eat.  We are all going out tomorrow morning for a Christmas EVe brunch.  So, it just might be a light supper for me tonight, as we are going to the brunch at 10,  which is a little early for a brunch. But, we like to go early as it isn't too crowded and  I can get around good with my walker. It is a really one of the nicest brunches  I have been to at a very reasonable price.

Prayers still being offered for Jane's brother and family.

A very drizzly, dreary morning here.  But, not as cold as it has been.  Glad it is rain instead of that "white stuff".

I'm still not dressed and I think I only have 2 more gifts to wrap so back to the wrapping.

Hi Everyone.  It is another overcast morning but not very cold.  This is going to be a pretty busy morning as will attend a meeting this morning and then stop once again at the grocery store for a few more items.  I thought I got everything on my trip to Walmart but that was not to be.  Our simple Christmas dinner has now turned into quite a production.  However, I am sure I will enjoy it.  Pat isn't having to do all the work as our granddaughter likes to cook and our son makes his green bean casserole and I make the 5 cup salad.  Pat will fix the ham in the Instant Pot as it takes only a few minutes as it is already cooked.  Jennifer is make the dessert and not sure what else.

I am going to ask you all for a pass on individual comments today except to say that I am also praying for Jane's brother.  My desktop  computer has been acting up when I start out the last few days and freezes the mouse.  After 10 or 15 minutes it seems to be working again.  So it used up a lot of my available time this morning.  I have enjoyed each and everyone of your postings and shouldn't be rushed tomorrow morning.

halkel

Good morning Everyone.
Cold here this morning but suppose to warm up.

Janie, I hope ups ger some good news today.

Talk to you later.

JaneS

The wrapping is done...there were actually 7 things that needed tending.  The wrapping paper bin is stowed and the bed is stripped.  Sheets will be clean and ready for company.  My daughter, SIL and granddaughter will be here from Maryland on Christmas day and will spend the night with me.

I still haven't heard anything from my family about Jim.  I'm hoping that no news is good news.

Now I MUST get dressed before I get caught.  And I have to walk down to the corner to put something in the mail box before the mail comes.  That's usually around 2 p.m. but with the busyness of Christmas, I don't want to be late.

Hope everyone's day is special!

Glad you are ok Lloyd

Hal, you ok?

Lightly snowing here..

I'm up again for the day, bowed out of a breakfast at my son's house & feel guilty.  My DIL's mother was to be there & it seems to give the family time to play with the kids if I visit with her.  Such a sad disease to watch progress.  She is on the list for Memory Care now. I did sleep after taking care of the cats & need to move, not recovering as fast as usual after that flying leap off the ladder.   :crazy2:

Jane, so sorry about the sadness for your family right now, prayers continue.

Larry, my computer went through such a stage not long ago.  By the time I reached the end of my patience it quit.  I'm guessing it was caused by Microsoft update & cured by the same. :knuppel2:

Joy, I'm with you about getting anywhere early, before the crowd.  Sounds like you have a plan!

I do need to move these old bones.  The knees are really sore so maybe it was the fall.... and it really hurts to bend down, about as bad as one time when a kid slid into my feet on his bike & I went up in the air & down on the tailbone.  Some years later an X-ray showed I really did crack a vertebrae.  I'm guessing the same this time & since "they" don't do anything, I will keep going. I do wish I had been more careful, that is what happens when too tired~

Amy, I also got laundry done yesterday/last night, but not the bed linens. Nobody spending the night here, going to be a fast trip for my daughter, her husband & their youngest.

Hope everyone has a good day, the sun is bright right now but cold out (so the thermometer says).  Jingle Bells, jingle bells...........

Mary Ann

Shirley, not quite the same, but your mention of your landing on your tailbone years ago reminded me of when I was teeter-tottering with another girl and she got off.  I went down in a hurry and it seems to me I was out of breath for a few minutes.  My dad was nearby and came over and picked me up.

It's cool here, about 32 degrees, but the sun is shining and it is not snowing now.  A nice day.

Mary Ann

Lindancer

Good afternoon, on this raining day, suppose to rain till to morrow. then sleet for Christmas Day.

Joy, that Celtic Concert sounds very interesting. I know you will enjoy it.

Larry, do not get yourself over tired to day.  I feel better in the morning, after sleeping with the oxygen. all night.

Amy, we had a Great Dane for 12 years, the vet ask us why we bought her? as the average life is around 7 years. WE got her when she was 10weeks, and all feet. It has been years since we had to put her to sleep, as her back legs just gave out.  I still miss her.

Shirley, I sure hope you start feeling better. take care.

I miss Gloria's post. Hope she is back soon.  If only I could just wave across the LI Sound, and let her know we are still here.

Jane, you know a lot of prays, hugs and thoughts are coming to you and your family, from all your Cyber friends.

AMY, I knew it was not a good idea to post my email address, but I wanted it to be easy for you to access.  Thank you, and I have removed it.  I see I have email from you and I am so sorry I thought it was from Pat....oh my....am I REALLY as goofy as I think I am?  It appears so!

Continued thoughts and prayers for Jim and Randall, JANE.

I have not mentioned it but I sure want you to know how much I have missed your daily posts! GLORIA.  I hope you will be up and running SOON!

Off to wrap more packages......

Enjoy your day, EVERYFRIEND.

I took a quick trip in the rain to pick up a couple things I forgot and grab a couple of things I wanted but didn't know if I could afford.  I could!  I also made it to the mailbox before the mailman and that's good.

I had a text from my sister.... they've stabilized Jim's blood pressure and the bleeding has stopped.  They still don't know what caused the bleeding but they are hoping it's something that can heal itself.  If I read the info on C-diff correctly, that does tend to correct itself once the action that caused it to begin in the first place is discontinued.

I told Margie that with all the prayers that are going heavenward right now, maybe they'd send Clarence down to help out.  Then I said, "Maybe he's already here and we can't see him."  She said "Maybe he is here.  That would be nice".

I washed the cover I keep on the sofa for the dogs but I think I'll check it out and see if any of the zzzzs stuck fast.  I don't know what I do to get so tired.  All I did today was get up at 5:30, make dog food, feed the dogs, have breakfast, wash the dishes, pack the rest of the candy for delivery, wrap the rest of the presents, go to the store, shop and come home and put the stuff away.  Oh yes, and put all the gift wrap stuff away, strip the bed wash the bedding and I'm in the process of remaking the bed.  Now that's not enough to make a person tired, is it?

I think I'll wait to check out the zzzs until I get the last load of laundry in the dryer.

I hope Everyfriend is enjoying their day!  I know I am!

Mycheal, Thank you for your concern. It means a great deal to me. The candle light service was lovely, and I was even given a candle to turn on at a certain time. and we sang two Christmas Hymns, and our Pastor spoke beautifully.

Janie dear,  I feel Christ is closer to your brother with "healing" at this Holy time of year. There is a special peace. There is a "gift" giving of God that nothing can surpass. Count on it Janie.

Hal, we can't change the climate, but we have learned to adjust. There is a certain blessing in our aging…we accept what we cannot change. I think the older we become, the more we can accept any changes as normal, or as God proclaims. A nice quiet acceptance…no gripes…all will be well.

Amy, I think God enjoys giving us surprise recoveries in all areas of our lives, and it is such a joy to open these surprise gifts, be they small gifts or special ones. I Love His choices.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I wasn't going to post again but I just had to say "THANK YOU, JUNE!  What you said was pure inspiration and it made me feel so good.  I do feel close to God and his Son and I'm sure the guardian angels are working overtime on Jim's behalf.  Thank you, again.

Mycheal and the same to you my friend.  We don't hear enough of you.  So post more often.

Amy, been a overflowing, houseful of people all day. All family and little ones underfoot, but quite welcome.  So I haven't really had time to get on the computer.

It is now an old man's bedtime and I am headed there now.  Church tomorrow and then back home for more family time.

June, you continue to be an all time friend and someone I can only second what someone said.  You are truly an inspiration of how one should live their life.  Thank you.

Night, night, God Bless and Sweet Dreams.

I wasn't going to do the bread/buns until today but did them last night ,all but the raisin bread so will do that later today.

Jane that is good news on Jim, each day he will get a little stronger now that the bleeding has stopped. Gosh, why would all that work and going 200 miles an hour doing it make anyone tired, you made me tired just reading about it all!!! I keep forgetting to ask ,did you have a wee taste of your new mustard?

Hal, oh my Christmas will we extra special with all the family there......yes, you will be tired but it will be a happy tired.

Mycheal, how true that is. Merry Christmas to you.

Jenny, I think we are all so busy at this time of year. Soon it will be all over and we can sit back and relax.

Gloria de, the Dane is a rescue  and a lovely dog. Yours had a really long life as Danes don't live long.

Larry, hope your computer behaves for you.

Wish we would hear from Gloria, she has had nothing but problems with the computer.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, just one more wakeup and Christmas will be here.  Some of you will be having a white Christmas and the rest of us a brown Christmas.  But it will still be the celebration of Jesus birthday.

You know without all the labors of you ladies it indeed would be a sad and dull Christmastime.  You, and no doubt about it, put the glitter in this festive season.  Thank You!

I don't know if I will be back on here later or not, its almost 7, I was up at 6:30, thought it was Saturday, and recycle day.  To finish what I was going to say.  I wish each of you a Blessed and Merry Christmas and may God keep you close.  Especially your brother Janie.

JaneS

That was cute, HAL

Yes, AMY, I did have a taste of my latest batch of mustard and I'm here to say that there's nothing better on a Pennsylvania Lebanon Bologna sandwich.  It's certainly hotter than the last batch.  Thank you....for asking!

Hi Everyone. It was 55 degrees here this morning when I got up and we are headed to 65 degrees this afternoon.  Yesterday we got to 75 degrees and a very beautiful day.  We did get some rain last evening and perhaps during the night as I see the streets are still damp.

Yesterday after my meeting I stopped at the grocery store as planned.  I was so relieved to see that three electric carts were available as it is a large store and I wasn't feeling up to par.  We expect Scott and Jennifer over later today.  Jennifer is planning on spending the night so she can get an early start on the Christmas dinner.  This will be the first time in about 34 years that she has spend a night with us.  She and her folks lived with us from the time she was about 6 months old until she was a year old when her mother left to visit her mother in Kansas City and never came back.  I expect to have a quiet, unhurried and restful day today.  I will probably watch some football this afternoon.

Jane, nice that some of your family are coming for a special Christmas visit with you.  I remember going to my folks for Christmas for so many years and they are wonderful memories.  Our mail usually isn't delivered until after 5 pm. It sounds like the report on your brother is more positive.  Prayers do work. You wonder why you need the zzz's?  No wonder when you consider all that you do in any given day.  I hope you hadn't washed all of the zzz's from the cover.

Amy, it is a good feeling when the last packages are wrapped.  I hope you don't get a lot of snow to be shoveled for blown from the driveway and walks during this holiday season.  I love raisin bread and haven't had any in a long time.  I bought some croissants yesterday for our ham sandwiches tomorrow. So far my computer has been a friendly terms with me today.

Shirley, glad to read that you are taking care of yourself rather than pushing to do something like attending the breakfast at your son's home.  My computer seems to be working OK today although I came in an got it started and then went to the kitchen for the morning getting the coffee fixed for Pat, the dishwasher emptied and a couple of other tasks.  When she got up a bit later I fixed her breakfast and grated some cheese.  That is like the extent of my working for today.

deAngel, your weather doesn't sound too good especially for Christmas Day.  That will be a good day to stay inside and stay warm and safe.  I did not feel well yesterday but today seems better.  I guess another life adjustments is necessary in that I will have to wait until an electric cart is available before trying to do much in a grocery store or any big store.  I understand that Great Danes make nice pets and it is a shame they have such a short lifespan.  I am missing Gloria's postings also and sure hope she is OK.  I hope that grandson gets her computer fixed as it must be two weeks or more since she was last able to post.

Jenny, with those beautiful grandchildren I expect you have a lot of gift shopping and wrapping to do.

June, those battery powered candles are so much safer than the real candles.  It has been several years since I attended a service where we passed the light in a candlelight service.  I think my Church is doing that in the service tonight along with Communion.  You are so right that we must accept the changes that occur with age and make the adjustments needed to continue to have a full life.

mycheal, that was a very nice Christmas piece.

Hal, we enjoy being with our family but if you are like me we also enjoy when they return to their homes especially when there are small children around.  They are a job to be around but they sure can wear a person out.

Bubble, thanks for that lovely Christmas graphic.  The colors are so bright and cheerful.

Lloyd, how much snow did you get?

Shirley

Another busy day on tap here.... sun is shining & enough wind to give us a "chill index".  Can't believe it is really Christmas Eve Day!  My daughter, her husband & 2 youngest kids are going to be here for supper... and found out this morning that #1 son & wife will be alone, their kids have other plans, so will see if they want to join us & then will feel I need to check if #2 son & "significant other" have plans & ask them to join.  The gr-daughter has a problem with instant mashed potatoes so I will run to the store & get a bag to peel. Used to do it all the time but got lazy.  I've warned them they are getting the already cooked roast from Sam's Club... have 3 packages in the freezer so not a problem.  Last summer I cooked a bunch of ears of corn & froze in baggies for such an occasion & think a couple bags will work fine.  Some salad & plenty of sweets after, we should be good.  I can hear my mother saying, "God always sees that there is enough food to fill everyone that comes to the table".... and so it goes.

Mary Ann, I do remember exactly how it felt when someone jumped off the teeter totter & the thump when you hit ground.  Not funny & I was careful not to let it happen again, that kid was not one to play with.

Amy & all trying the mustard recipe, I'm off to the store & will see if they carry what I need to try.  Would like it to go with the jar of
"bar" mixed salties that has large pretzels & stuff in.  I am a salt alcoholic & have made a dent in that big jar already.

Janie, I so hope & pray your family has only good news the rest of the holidays.  You work so hard to make everyone happy...God Bless.

Hal, love the link & will be passing it on.  Our fur family has feelings just like all the rest of us, don't they?

All the weather news I had last night & early this morning talked about "snow".... so I fully expected some on the driveway when I backed out.... NONE!  I was more disappointed that a kid that got a new sled for Christmas~   :tissue:

Bubble, that is a gorgeous graphic.  Hope you had a blessed Hanukkah, I love it when you post photos of your holidays.  We are so lucky in here to get a glimpse of "around the world" with real people.

Gloria de.... my youngest son has a Great Dane, bigger than the last one he had.  He is resigned to their short life but will get another when this one dies.  They are lovable & for sure, make anyone think twice about breaking into his house.  He has a retired neighbor that delights in taking the dog for walks every day so makes everyone happy.

Must make that grocery run.  Wishing all a happy day!  Shirley

Mary Ann

Merry the day before Christmas.

Nothing out of the ordinary is happening around here.  Dot is still under the weather so did not go to church this morning so I asked Tom to take me.  Tom also is not feeling well and if he was, I'd have asked him to go with me.  He came back to pick me up and we went to Mr Burger where I had a Tuna Melt all by my self.  Usually Dot and I split one and I ended up eating 3/4 of the one I ordered.

Driving home, we have some snow on the ground and the sun is not shining but even with looking so bleak, there was a beauty of the scene as we drove along.  Everything was black, grey and white.
