June, my good friend, we were concerned since you said you are feeling so tired.  I hope you gave instructions to your kids to let us know what is going on if you cant post.

Been a drizzly, nasty day here and now they say tomorrow too will be rainy, possible t-storms.   I am not too concerned, we need the rain, and I have no appointments.

I am off to bed.  I am tired to.

Nitght, sweet dreams and God bless

Lloyd Hammond

well Hal up for a dry mouth and a nature call, catching up on reading post's I would sure even welcome your drizzly weather we are still dry here the little shower we got the other day was just a teaser, good Night and sweet dreams.

Good morning everyone..

Snowing again here, will shovel the driveway after I finish my tea and then we are on the road again. Yesterday went fantastic!! Mention to the Dr we had  not heard back from the specialist and he got his nurse right on it, she came back with an appointment, could we go that afternoon. Yes sir we could and off to the city appointment we went.

Today is hearing aid appointment then hubby wants to do a bit of shopping. Hope the stores aren't sardine packed with people.

June, great to see you, can understand not being up to snuff but we miss you when you don't say hi.

Jane, hope you had a fun day with Kiran yesterday.

Hal, I do pulled pork in the crockpot..will put a pork loin and cut it into chops and little roasts..one loin goes a long way here.I try to get them when they are on sale for 1.49 lb.

Larry, nice to win a delicious cake from DQ!! That was a dusty job riding on the back of the hay baler!

Lloyd,hope you have a great day .

Shirley, did you get your sprinklers fixed? You're right there is always something to deal with.

Gloria de, I too belonged to 4H, calf club and barley club. Interesting to learn from 4 H.

Joy, you are baking up a storm there!! Good for you, everyone will enjoy your cookies.

Better go waltz with the shovel.too early to use the snow blower.

Still no Joan or Gloria.

Enjoy your day everyone..

I noticed that I got so excited about seeing JUNE last nit that I forgot to say....

Good night Everyfriend!  ans now it's time to say....

Good Morning Everyfriend.  It doesn't feel as cold here as it was and we had a bit of precipitation during the night.  It wasn't snow so the temp must be above freezing.  That's OK with me.

AMY, have a safe trip to the city and I hope you encounter just enough crowd to let you know it's Christmas but not enough to slow you down.  Kiran and I had a great visit and she loved her birthday present.  She helped me wrap the one for the agency where we went and shared our glasses so they could see it too.  We're going to deliver it when she's off school.  And Aunt Cathy came by to wish her "Happy Birthday" too.

I'll be behind the counter today so wish me smiles!  You all have a great day!

Hi Everyone. We are in for another very nice day with it getting up to about 70 degrees.  I had a very good nights sleep and the schedule is clear for today.  About the only thing I did yesterday was to make a quick trip to the post office to mail off a small package to a dear friend.  Of course, one never knows what the day may bring.

June, as long as you can leave us postings then you have a good day, in my humble opinion.  Your first concern must always be yourself as we will be here when you feel up to posting.  It is great that you can order your groceries online or over the phone and have them delivered to you.  You are never boring.  I don't think it matters so much about what we say but rather that we come together to share a little bit of our lives and to let each other know we are OK or not on a particular day. I have always loved Ann Murray singing and John Denver was no slouch and he wrote some good songs as well.  Too bad his life ended or soon in that plane crash.

Hal, I hope you send some of that drizzle and rain up this way as we need it.  I see we have a 10% chance of rain this evening.  Most often that doesn't result in any rain.

Lloyd, always good to see your posting.  It sounds like you need rain just as we do.

Amy, did your husband get a good report from the afternoon appointment?  Hope the shopping isn't too hectic for you and hubby today.  I have stayed out of the department stores this year other than Walmart.  The two trips I have made to the post office to mail off something were surprises in that there were no long lines.  Yesterday I got right in and waited on and was on my way home.  Pork does seem to be about the least expensive meat here as well.  I don't think I mentioned that the last dozen of eggs I got at Aldi's were $0.29.  I hated riding on the back of the hay baler.  I didn't like the farm but it sure taught me how to work hard.

Jane, hope you have a warmer day today.  Maybe some of our warm weather is headed up your way.  It was in the 50's when I got up this morning and is to be nice this afternoon as I indicated above. I didn't understand your comment about "shared our glasses".  Glad Kiran had a great Birthday with you.  I hope you found a lot of smiles in your line today.  I have noticed more people are wishing other people Merry Christmas this year and it is nice.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,  from the cold and overcast rocky coast of Maine.

Good Morning Everyone!

It is sill cloudy and damp out. Streets look all wet and shiny but I don't see any water dripping from the roof.

Oh, the weatherman last night started taunting the kids about a white Christmas here. But then added not much of a chance.  Although we do have two big cold fronts headed our way and expected around Christmas eve.  Which means you folks are going to get it before us, especially you Amy, you are already in the cold, cold zone.  I laughed, he, the weatherman, added but
"you never know, the magic of Christmas may bring us a surprise"  and also added one thing you can count on it will be plenty cold Christmas morning. HO-HO-HO!!!!!!

We are suppose to have spring like weather for the next two days.

No appointments here for today.  I don't think. Will check calendar here in a minute.

Hope all of you have a good day and everything goes as planned.

Sandy, sit back and relax and enjoy the season (and food).  I wish you a great Christmas and great time with with your children and grandchildren.

Will you get to watch them open their gifts?  It always bring a big smile to me.  The little ones like the packages almost as much as the gifts inside......LOL

JaneS

Just a quick note to LARRY...the glasses I referred to are the ones that were issued for observing the eclipse.  I made a remembrance for Kiran of her glasses in a frame with the date.  I had to stop to pick up something from my daughter and Kiran got into showing anyone who was interested the eclipse using our glasses.

I think I forgot to come in and say "Merry Monday" yesterday.   :crazy2:

It was a busy day.
Called around and found a friend to go with me to a Memorial Service for the third friend of more than 35 years who had died since Thanksgiving.  Had an errand to do after that and didn't get home until late afternoon.

About 5:30, neighbor knocked on the door and said "Come out and see the carolers".  An impromptu group was going around the neighborhood "serenading".   Neighbor invited me to go with them to join the group at Hideaway Pizza.
I still had on what I'd worn to the memorial service so was a bit overdressed for a pizza place - but had a good time.

This morning was the usual hair appointment and then to Crest with a long grocery list.  How nice that my favorite parking space (handicapped one closest to the door) was available.  ;)

I've brought in the groceries (using my rollator as a "bag tote") and put away fridge and freezer things.

Feels like a "weather maker" outside and it's time for the noon news weather guru.

June, you mentioned Chicken Noodle Soup a couple of days ago.  I thought of you today when Tom fixed the soup for me.  Since Tom does my shopping, I let him get what he wants and he buys Progresso soups.  While I like Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup, I prefer the Progresso now.  It has large chunks of chicken, slices of carrot and pieces of celery plus the broth is tasty.  The can says it is one serving, but my appetite isn't that big, so one can will do me for two meals.

Tom is picking up a friend at the airport and will deliver him to a doctor's appointment, then to a hotel that has airport shuttle service for him to get back home.  I'm amazed that anyone would fly from Florida, but I just figured it out - the friend lives in Zeeland MI and he has been in Key West working on his MIL's house that was badly damaged in a hurricane.  Tomorrow Tom will either take or pickup another friend at the airport.  Wednesday noon Tom will treat Dot and me to a Christmas lunch.  He keeps busy.

We are back home and everything put away.Stores were not too bad as we were in early before hubby's appointment. I am glad to be home, as it was raining  and now it is windy.I did shovel off the garage apron ,leaving the rest of the driveway in case we did get rain.

Larry, he did get another appointment from the specialist and we are happy about that! I used to cut, rake, condition and bale the hay. Miss doing some of that, not all though :)

Just going to do a whole lot of nothing now :)

The Rocky coast of all New England is noted for
Homarus americanus: "The American Lobster"

(or what I call  "Maine Lobster")
Click below to learn more about it.

Which can be found fresh off the lobster boats,
any where from Cape Cod, Massachusetts  down

The price depends on the location, the season and the
availability.     While traveling along the
coast you never know when Lobsters can be found
at a reasonable cost.    "The locals"  where they are
advertised can give you an idea of where to locate the
bargains...

Amy, it is encouraging to read that your hubby has such a good Dr. taking care of his needs, and he even wants to do some shopping today.

Janie, I am very confident that when you go to work the majority of your customers just love your smiles and your friendly attitude. You are a "Gooder" for sure.

Larry, for 93 years, I should have no complaints at all. I feel very blessed by God that I am able to do what I do. I think it is quite natural for us American citizens to gripe about "stuff"…..we are spoiled with the good life God has given us. I'm glad to hear you too like Ann Murrays voice. I like her personality too. A nice normal human being.

Mary Ann, next time I order soup I will try the progresso brand. I seem to have trouble using all the liquid that comes when we add water to the can. Thanks for mentioning it.

Janie, prayers have been said for Jim, and more will be offered.

Time for me to say goodnight with prayers for all that is needed.
god is so loving to us. Thank You God.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

My SIL gave me his old Iphone5 today and we took it down to AT&T to get a SIM card put in and I have been playing with it all afternoon and some tonight.  But, I seemed to have most of the stuff up and running and my old eyes are not in a good mood with me.

Janie, I hope you have had some good news by now.  I am off to bed and more prayers for you, Jim and family.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The weather promises to stay above freeziny tofay with temps in the high 30s all day and sunshine for most of the day.

Sometimes, when bad things happen, God sends us something good to let us know that He's still with us.  That's what happened to me yesterday.  In the midst of my grief for my brother, a totally unexpected package arrived on my doorstep from a very dear friend.  It raised my spirits...not for what the package contained but for it's very timely arrival and for the love that prompted the sending.  She might not know it, but she became God's messenger yesterday!

I'll be off to Wally World at 9 a.m. today and then, home to (hopefully) get the rest of the Christmas presents wrapped and ready for the weekend.  I also want to make a batch or two of Amy's Hot Mustard to share with my family.

Enjoy your day today.  As Hal told us to do...Ask, knock, seek!  He is with us!

Good Morning Everyone!
I cant believe it, I beat Amy in here this morning.

Well, I rolled the garbage bin out to the curb for pickup this morning and it isn't to awful cold, but it is foggy again and damp as can be and of course the old yard gate is swollen up like poisoned pup and had a time getting it open and didn't even wrestle with it to close it, just hooked it closed with an old coat hangar I keep on the gate for just these occasions.

I have a doctors appointment at 11 (10:50) this morning but have to go in early for a blood draw so he can get the results before my appointment.  Lord only knows what that young doctor has on his mind.  I can't gripe though, I feel so much better than I did, as you all well know.

Janie, I hope you get more good news today about your brother.  And hope you share with us.   Did they figure out his problem?

My youngest granddaughter graduated from Texas A&M San Antonio yesterday.  Guess she is now a full fledged physiologist, she is already working with autistic children with behavioral problems.  Proud of that young lady.  I didn't go to the graduation, wife did, too much walking involved.  And they had a lot of waiting.  Had to go early to get a decent seat and wife said the place was packed.

I hope all of you have a great day and week.

Good morning everyone. it is 33º and cloudy here expting 46 for high.

Hi Everyone.  It was 60 degrees at 7:30 this morning and will be close to 70 this afternoon.  Yesterday was just a beautiful weather day.  It was so nice that we decided to go out for our dinner last night so we went to the Pizza Hut for the buffet.  The only thing special on the agenda for today will be dinner this evening with Jennifer and Scott.  As there is no dinner at Church tonight we will likely go out to eat and then come back here for some visiting.

Sandy, will you get to see Fe open her presents at Christmas?  I think it is the little ones that make the family Christmas celebration so much fun.  I see Hal and I asked the same question about watching as the little ones open their presents.

Hal, I haven't heard any of the weather persons here talking about any chance for us to have a White Christmas.  The extended forecast says we will stay in the 50's, 60's and 70's through Christmas with only one night to get to 31 degrees.  We are down to two appointments the rest of the year.  Pat gets another pain shot tomorrow morning and I go for my final eye exam on the 28th.  I liked your "best Christmas present ever" story.

Jane, thanks for explaining the glasses as hadn't made that connection at all.  If you had mentioned doing this in a prior posting I had forgotten.  I will keep Jim in my prayers.  That was a nice surprise and a timely arrival of that package from your friend.

Don, did you get to see a lot of children in your Santa gigs this year?  Not time to sit back and relax with your beautiful music.

Callie, enough is enough in losing three friends in such a short time.  I haven't heard carolers in a long time.  Nice you could go out with your neighbors for pizza.

Mary Ann, we used to eat some of the Progresso soups but since finding the soups at Costco it will be awhile before we go to canned soups again.  The chicken enchilada soup at Costco is loaded with chicken and so good.

Amy, glad your shopping went well and you didn't have to fight crowds.  Happy to see your husband got another appointment from the specialist.

June, you are so right that most of us do gripe about "stuff" as we are only human.

Hal, is this your first iPhone?  I am betting that you will enjoy having it as you can do so much on it.  After you get the second cataract removed it will probably be much easier to see it.  I am sure you are very proud of your granddaughter getting her degree and already employed.  It sounds like you were wise to stay home.

Good morning Lloyd.  I do plan to have a great day and I hope you have the same.

Amy

Good morning everyone...

I slept in to 6:30 and was on the run. Had to take my vehicle in to get new struts put on and had to shovel the drive way first! We both manned a shovel and got it done. :smitten: I just need to take the snow blower to the mouth of the driveway plus blow the windrow back and do the dog runs for them.  Nice to drive my vehicle without the clunking now.

Larry, I just bought large eggs for 2.27 a dozen here..I also enjoy Pizza Hut buffet..

Hal, we also have a young puppy for a Dr and really like him. He is so thorough in his exams.

Jane, hope Jim is better today.I would imagine YOU have been God's messenger many times over..enjoy your day at work. Hopefully when you come back in here, you will have good news about Jim.

June, I think you are an inspiration to us all here..I for one look forward to your posts .

Sandy, I bet Fe will have a lot of fun this Christmas.Nice to have young ones about, that makes Christmas so much nicer.

Better get ready for my dance with the snow blower...

Enjoy your day everyone..
