Amy about time you showed up.  I am getting jealous of those two guys who always taking you dancing, shovel and blower...... :)

Got to git to gitting........off to the vampire and doctor.

Shirley

Don't know when I posted last but been super busy & still didn't do a lot of decorating (in & out) but will soon be time to take down & I am ahead with that game!

Dr appointment yesterday, already had results of the bone scan & blood work for anemia, more blood work after fasting to uncover all my bad (cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.) tests.... the anemia in on the low end of all tests but "within", so he doesn't think that had any bearing on the low oxygen.  His judgement on going to CO & mountains is, "you can go & have no issues, you can go & have a stroke or heart attack or even lungs fill... your choice,  but if you feel a super shortness of breath... GO DOWN FAST."   So that's the plan, we will make the reservations right after New Year Day & enjoy one more trip together.  He made the usual offer of meds for all my issues but does not insist.  I really like this man, he seems to care enough to respect my choices.

Wow, need to make a grocery run, clean that family room & put the 4 leaves in the table so I can put my Christmas tablecloth on... & all the Lenox Christmas serving dishes... will fill them with munchies & put Saran wrap over between guest visits...  works for me~  I need to take all the "what-nots" off the shelves beside the fireplace to wash, dry & then wax the wood before putting back... and I am sitting here whining about it so need to get into action.  Getting started is the hard part.

Hope everyone has a great day.... our cold weather starts tomorrow afternoon with a sharp blast of cold north wind & possibly "flurries".  When we get tired of it we will send on down to Hal.... after it goes through MO to chill them out.

OH, Gloria, I talked to Doris last night & she asked me to send you a special "Merry Christmas"...  we talked over an hour & half... she is quite a character.... hope you got your computer fixed & see this!

Better get moving, ex neighbor coming for a visit after 1:00 pm & need to get that table cleaned off.

June Drabek

Good Morning my dear hearts..almost noon time..but thanks be to God I got in at a more decent time. I have been so late, lately.  ::) We had such a great Bible Study this morning. Jeff is a great teacher. Between Jeff and my Gary, I am "growing" in Bible knowledge. I cannot tell you what a thrill it is that at my ancient age, I am learning from the younger generation.

How I miss our Gloria's posts. I pray her Grandson will be able to get her  back with us, her cyber family. And I am missing posts from Gloria de also. But then I am never entirely sure if June Drabek is still aware of what is happening from one day to the next.

Hal,I hope you had a good visit with your doctor. To me a "good visit" means I am still here, and to keep doing what I am doing.

Lloyd You are not having much to "say" lately. I see you post every day, and thankful for that, but I pray you are sleeping well at night, and not out there working too hard with all that big machinery. I am waiting to hear that you have finally sold off all those big appliances and retired.

Nearly time to take myself down to lunch. I will go to our small quiet dining room again. Since my last illness, I prefer just going downstairs, rather than a short walk to the big dining room, which is so much more social, I have trouble hearing conversations. There is a big special meal in the big dining room at four o'clock this day, but I declined the invitation. I am tired by four P.m., and "food" is not a high priority any more.

See you later kids. I love being here. You lift me up.  June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good afternoon from a foggy gloomy central Oklahoma,

Larry,  these "carolers" were an impromptu bunch - definitely not organized!   ;D   Almost everybody in this complex knows everyone else so A Good Time Was Had By All.

Shirley,  maybe I've mentioned back along the line that oldest son developed Pulmonary Edema (a/k/a High Altitude Sickness) when we got back to Leadville after a vacation to a much lower altitude.  Symptoms resemble bad bronchitis but fluid develops around the lungs - not in them and, as I recall, doesn't show up on an X-ray.
You might mention this possibility to your KS doctor.
Salida used to have a hospital.  Buena Vista might have a clinic of some kind. They would know what to do if you needed help.

Project du Jour was/is to wrap gifts.  I had found cute little boxes to put gift cards in at Dollar Tree.  Wouldn't you know?......none of the gift cards I got will fit in the boxes!   >:(

Miss Ellen flies home tomorrow.  Can't wait to know she's within hugging distance.   :smitten:

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Amy

Hal, don't  get jealous of those two..they really can't dance/waltz. I have to steer them both. While one just hangs there, the other will take away all the quietness and sputter and BANG too!!!

VON has come and gone, my friend has come to pick up two bags of  chicken breasts and I got good news that David's FIL is home from the hospital..
Made the meatballs for soup today, one less job to do when it needs to be made.

Jane, you cutting the mustard there? :)

Have a great day. I am how ever in for the day today.

Sorry Amy, no mustard yet.  All the stuff is sitting on the kitchen counter but it just won't gather itself to gether without me.  I needed vinegar before I could do it and a couple of other things after work and when I got home, I was worn out and those zzzs were calling me.  And since I didn't sleep too well last night, I gave in to them.  Then I wrapped a few gifts and finished another job that was started and not finished.  I'm going to put on the Christmas music tonight and "cut the mustard".  I decided to make 3 batches since I have enough dry mustard for that much.  Do you do triple batches?  Does it work well?

I realized this morning that I'd been typing a's and using the shift key with my little finger without even thinking.  It's not all the way back to normal but I think all that's wrong with it now is that "Arthur" has taken up residence in the knuckle.  I can live with that.

The "furry" natives are getting restless so it must be time to scrounge up some supper.  When that's finished, I can concentrate on getting the mustard done and the goodies ready to take in to WalMart for my coworkers.  That will be one more thing I can cross off the list.

The doggies go to the beauty parlor tomorrow so they'll be gorgeous for Christmas.  I've been hoarding enough to pay for this visit for several weeks now.  If I ever have another dog, it'll be a shaggy dog!

I want to share a story with you that kind of made my day.  It might turn out to be a bit long but (I think) worth the read.  A lady (probably in her late 30s or early 40s checked out through my line.  Her bill wasn't very big but she told me how much was left on her food stamps card and I plugged that in before she slid it.  It was a little more than a dollar.  Then she had another card and she said, "I have 94 cents left on this card.  I plugged that in and she slid it.  It was a bank debit card.  The rest of the bill $7.57.  She paid that with quarters and her change was 18 cents.  As she walked away she said in a happy voice, "Look at that!  I have 18 cents left!"

The only comment I'm going to make about this is....COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!  SHE DID!

Click for Lewisburg,Pennsylvania Forecast

Amy

Jane, I have doubled the recipe but not tripled it...I don't see why it wouldn't work though.

What a wonderful story and yes,we should always count our blessings.

When my friend lost her hair due to chemo, she said " Just look at all the money I save on haircuts and shampoo!!! I can buy more fabric!! "Always a way to look on the bright side..

I had thought I would get my Frangipan Tarts made ,but  maybe another day...

a personal Christmas story from many years ago.  My wife and I were both young of course and broke as a church mouse.  And of course it was Christmas time.  My wife fresh over from England, she had arrived from England in July.  Back to the story, I was broke but had Bolex L8 8MM movie camera so off to Fort Worth and looking to sell my camera, I had bought it when I had a little money.  I think all the camera places I went thought I had stolen then thing and wouldn't hardly talk to me, finally I went in to a film processing store and one of the guys there said he would give me 20 bucks for it, remember this was 1953 and 20 bucks was nothing to turn your nose up at.  I took it and that was our Christmas.

Fortunately never had to go though another Christmas like that.

Well it is bedtime and this old man is ready for my bed.  My appointment went well today.  Doctor was happy and cut one pill out and is having me cut one in half.  He is not in what he calls his fine tuning stage.  And he said some of the turning is tricky.
So back to him in January and a blood draw before my apmt.
My eye doc office called today rescheduling my eye surgery, now on the 27th January (a Saturday) and at OMGoodness 0530 and then back to her office at 1PM for post op exam.  I might as well not go to bed.  I guess I can be grateful, she said I was the first operation that day.  And I get to sleep while she is working....

Night, night, God Bless and Sweet Dreams

Good evening EVERYFRIEND.

It is bed time but I just had to get in to see how you all are doing.

I asked Joe how Our Joan is doing after telling him how much she is missed here in the SS.  This was his response.....
“Mom is ok, however, almost every day is a struggle for her emotionally and physically. COPD is a terrible disease!”.
Bless her heart, I feel so sad for her.  I was so hopeful that after her move to be near her family she would be able to enjoy her life more and be healthy, and rather she has been down most of the time she has been there.

JANE, I loved your story, and as sad as it is, bless that sweet ladies heart....she was being so possitive by her comment.  She is the perfect example of the type of folks that I would love to be able to help out.  There are so many sad situations out there.  I have been thinking and praying for your BIL all day and hoping he is doing much better today.

HAL, I can appreciate your story of just trying to have a little bit of money to help with your Christmas.  I suppose many of us have been in that situation before.  I remember well having to get in to my collection of Kennedy half dollars to go to the commissary to buy a bit of necessary food for us.  Back in those days it took every cent of money my hubby was paid for us to barely get by.  No extravagant purchases for us in those days.

AMY, your friend certainly turned her sad situation into a positive thought.....she sounds like a special lady.

We are going to get snow over night that will effect the morning commute....the snow may not account to very much but it is going to get really cold!

Pleasant dreams to all,

Jenny

I'm up late, my "boys" discovered rules have changed for reservations in the Nat'l Forest in CO this year & already the week ends & even whole weeks are reserved for the 2 sites we like best. I said I'll give it a try so we have reservations for early June at Mt.Princeton.  I will just head down hill fast if it doesn't work for me.  Really stinky that they switched times to reserve... last year we were limited because we waited until mid Jan to check.... & couldn't reserve until Jan 2.......but we're good, got sites next to each other.

Callie, I do remember you mentioned your son having a problem that one time but didn't understand all the symptoms.  I did NOT have a cough, just extremely short winded & that little finger monitor proved the low oxygen.  It is fine in this flat land. I didn't realize the lungs could fill AND around the lungs.  My blood tests prove I am on the low side of everything showing anemia but "not in the red". Today the nurse called with results of the 2nd test & my Vitamin D level is at 12.... normal low range is 30 up.... have a 'script waiting for me for massive dose of D+, that could also be a factor in the low oxygen.  I'll work on it, thanks for the tip.

Guess most of us went through that stage of counting pennies... we never went hungry but we also never bought anything we didn't have the cash to pay for.  We couldn't afford medical insurance when Cas was in college so when we had the 2nd kid (first was born in GI hospital in England at a cost of about $12. out of our pocket)... it took us a year to pay off the 2nd expenses since he was in the hospital for 10 days in an Isolette.... his lungs didn't inflate & a ward nurse took him out to feed him.  The the doctor explained "they had to increase his oxygen level so high he might be blind, deaf or mentally challenged".  In first grade he tested 5th grade level... nothing wrong with him, worth every penny.

Cas was the one that set the budget & I never had a problem doing without to save for what we needed. Growing up during WWII years when everything was rationed was good training, wasn't even a challenge to live on whatever we had. Between the two of us, we could make or fix about anything.  I think we grew up "in the best of times".... we knew what had to be done & just did it.  I am concerned for the young people today that think they have to have everything right now but toss it when they don't need and then buy again (or parents do) for the next baby.

Ah, well...... back end of my little car is full of "stuff" to take to Goodwill or DAV.. I was shocked when a lady from Salvation Army was asking for money during the TX floods said, "you know 75% of what is donated goes to landfills."   I couldn't believe what I heard, but if they don't want anything but money, it won't come from me when those in charge get such big paydays. They do a lot of good but I am against not wanting to offer "used" items to people that need help.

Good Heavens to Betsy, it going on 1:00 am ..... past my bedtime!  Have a whole list of "to-dos" for tomorrow.  Sweet dreams if anyone is still awake, God Bless...  Shirley

Good morning Everyfriend!  I'm up, the doggies have been out and back in and had their pill.  We're waiting for the boinger.  I got a slew of stuff wrapped last night but I still have some to get done today.

The doggies go to the groomer today and when I drop them off, I'm heading to WM to pick up a couple things I still need.  Then I'm coming home and make my mustard and hopefully finish the wrapping.  Of course, I've been promising myself to finish the wrapping for a week now.  I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen today.

I hope you all get everything you planned done and have some time just to listen to Andy Williams sing Christmas carols.  He's singing right now!

Good morning everyone..

One day closer to Christmas and  the count down is on to get everything done.
I think we all have gone through hard times but I also think it did make us stronger. The young ones ,not all but most don't know how to "make do" Remember stretching that pot of soup or stew. One lady told me she even watered down the orange juice for her children. We cooked from scratch not from a box or odering out.

I hope you all enjoy your day, I slept in again and need to boggie.

Good Morning Everyone!

Getting myself ready for bible study and mens breakfast.  Looking forward to both.  I really enjoy the fellowship and study.

Tisie, "they" are now saying we are going to get the Western side of the cold, cold stuff but temps that are giving out are not that bad.  I think Christmas morning prediction is 31 degrees.  Freezing but not bitter.  Of course we will have the wind too.  But they finally broke the kids heart, no snow.  We will have rain tomorrow and tomorrow night and front will push moisture out of here, as usual.

Ladies, please don't wear yourself out rushing to get things all done.

Tisie, I think that lady was mistaken, much of the used clothing if not given to those that need them is sold by weight for rags and other uses.  On the border they have been warehouses with humongous mounds of clothes people can go in and buy and they do.  And we have many Salvation Army stores here that sell clothing and other items.

Got to get myself ready, time waits for no one.

Have a great day.

well it seams most of us old duffers seen hard times. well my mom and dad were devoured, he was re married he came by one day and talked to mom to see if he could get free if she would have him back. three or four days later he was murdered. we soon moved to a small town next door to my great grandmother so she could keep a eye on us while mom worked at sewing factory. and then she came home fixed supper for us and then went down to the local grocery store and clerked there and closed it up at night. we would buy one quart of whole milk pour it in a pan let the cream come to top ans skim it off save it until we had enough to make butter. then we would water the skimmed milk down more to eat on our cereal. mostly seldom drank any milk, water or accolade. it was cheep 5 cents for a packet that would make 2 quarts just a little sugar. i guess that is why I am a string and bent nail saver.
a friend (senior) once you can make a living of what others through away. I have mostly made a living of salvaging, I got some $$ and martial out of tearing down old buildings. we built our house of used demotion lumber I beams and used bricks in and out. i will get my grand daughter to try to do a walk around and through of the house. i used new sheet rock and wiring.
I tore down the Pendergras  hotel it had brand new copper 3/4" in it never used, just installed. we never get a cold or hot flash when some one opens a faucet  while you are taking a shower. Have a great day.

Joy

Good Thursday morning.

I have been busy most of the week, and have gotten a lot done.  I don't know where all this energy has come from,  but it sure is welcomed.   I have done more in the past week or more, than I have done in a long time.

There is a Christmas luncheon here where I live today.  Not too many people have signed up for it.   Which is a real shame.  The gal who was our activity director quit a few weeks ago.  She had been out sick for about 6 months earlier this year and had only gotten back to work a little over a month ago. It seems she and the manager just couldn't get along.  But, I was quite surprised when I heard she had just up and left.   So, that kind of left a void in our activities.

Several of the residents have taken over trying to get some things going. They are the ones who are putting the luncheon together.  It will be a Pot-Luck with the residents providing the side dishes and I am not sure who is providing turkey and ham.  It is a shame that not more people have signed up.

And, of course, with so many people voicing their opinions,  several complaints about "residents" trying to take over are beginning to be passed around.  Just can't please everybody.  If I were able to do more, I would try to help out, but just can't do that much anymore.

When I first moved here about 10 years ago, I did  try to participate in activities, but even back then, not that many people came to things.  I just can't put my finger on what is the problem.  Our manager now is the 6th or 7th one since I have been here, so I think that has to tell you something is wrong.

But, I just kind of do the things I want to do and kind of stay away from the "chronic complainers".  But, I have always felt like when you have such a diverse group of people, there is bound to be controversy.  Most of the residents are very nice and I try to be friendly with most of them.....  and then there are a couple who I just say "Hi" and go on my way.

Will get down off of my "soapbox" now................

I got all my cookies finished up yesterday.  Just have to put a few things into gift bags and wrap up some little gifts I have for the great-grands.    Hopefully, the two oldest ones ( Addy 5 and Kinsley 3) will get to visit me next Wednesday.  They live about  an hour from me.  They will be spending Christmas with their dad and their mom will pick them up on Tues. morning and bring them to see me on Wed.  I am so looking forward to seeing them.  I did see them on Thanksgiving, but it was a lot going on and I didn't get to spend too much time just with them.  My other grand daughter and grandson live up in Connecticut and I was hoping that they would be able to come down for Christmas, but they decided to stay home.  Probably just as well with the weather being iffy.  They each have a little girl, who I did see in the summer.  My other grandson has a new baby, and I did see them at Thanksgiving and will probably see them sometime next week.

Guess I better get myself moving. Have a few things I need to get done before the luncheon.   Since they are having ham, I did sign up to make a Pineapple casserole, so need to get that put together.  A real easy and quick dish that goes so good with ham.

It was nice to see that Jenny had a message from Joan's son, but makes me sad that Joan is having so many health issues.  I, too, was hoping when she moved closer to her family, she would feel better and get to enjoy being close to them.  It does seem like she never really got to spend much time at the new place she moved into. Guess it is good that she did make the move when she did.  At. least she is close enough to her family now, that they can visit more often.

Jane, I am wondering how your brother is doing?  Sure hope he is improving.  I am sure it is very stressful for the whole family, especially with the holidays.

Shirley, sure hope you will be able to get out to Colorado this coming year,. I know, years ago when we were there, the altitude did bother me a little bit.  I know it can be very hard on people, especially, who have breathing problems.  Hope it all will work out for you.   I know how much you love it out there.  Glad that your son's will be able to go with you.

Guess I better on with my day.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Joy

Hi Everyone.  After a lot of rain yesterday we have a bright and sunny morning.  We expect to get to about 60 degrees this afternoon.  We did have an enjoyable time with Scott and Jennifer last evening.  The main item on the agenda for today is that Pat will get the third shot in her back this morning.  I may make a quick trip to Walmart for a couple of things later today and that will likely be it.

Amy, not nice to have to do car repair at this time of the year.  Do you have to drive over rough roads that wear out the struts?  It sounds like you have quite a bit of snow up your way.  For a few weeks the eggs at Aldi's had gone up to $0.99 cents so was shocked to get them at $0.29 a dozen the last couple of times.  My wife will like the little story you told about the lady losing her hair and her positive spin on the situation.

Shirley, glad you have a caring doctor who understands you.  I liked your comment about not decorating much and thus being ahead of the game in taking them down.

June, you are proof that we are never to old to learn.  I love learning new things but now just wish I could remember more of what I learn.  It is hard to beat a good Bible study.  I have to miss our weekly Wisdom group with our Pastor today due to Pat's doctor's appointment.  It is not exactly a Bible study but we learn a lot from him related to the Bible.  Like you and others I also miss seeing the postings from Gloria.  Gloria de is posting under the name Linedancer.

Callie, nice you know your neighbors and the Caroling sounds like it would have been fun.  Unfortunately I can't say the same here although have met all of the neighbors in the houses right around me.

Lloyd, you remind me a lot of my father, whose name was also Lloyd, who loved to work in his shop and even after he retired had a nice work bench.

Jane, do all the worker at your Walmart store exchange small gifts or it is just a selected few?  Nice story about the lady in your line who was happy to have a few cents left after her purchases.

Hal, glad your appointment went well yesterday.  It is always good when a pill can be eliminated from what we have to take each day.  When Pat had her cataract surgery she had to be there at 6 am both times.  The first time we stayed in a motel the night before to avoid the terrible Atlanta traffic as we lived on the East side of Atlanta and the doctor's office was on the West side.  We had a time locating the office so were glad we did.  You have had a long wait for your second surgery.  I was most thankful to be asleep when they worked on my eyes.  I keep hoping that the drops will run out of the first bottle of medicine for this second eye as still have another bottle to go.

Jenny, thanks for the update on Joan.  I wonder if anyone else saw the Josh Groban Christmas special a couple of nights ago.  His program was dedicated to adoption and during the show they featured three or four cases of children who were adopted by very loving parents.  It just broke my heart to realize what some children have to endure with drugged out parents or those who don't show them any love.  Pat and I also went through many years of counting pennies but I think those years have made of appreciate our lives today.  Like you we never went hungry as Pat was careful.  I made sure we had a home and food and then what was left could be spent for other things.  I agree with you in that I knew I grew up in the best of times.

Hal, it is my understanding also that clothing that isn't fit to be worn or resold is bundled and sold for rags.

Joy, others that live in retirement homes have mentioned the lack of interest in things like your Christmas luncheon.  I hope you have a great meal.  It does seem there are a lot of chronic complainers but most often they are not willing to do anything to help resolved the issue or make it better.  I hope you get to see your great grandchildren.

Radioman34

Larry, I was at one of the largest shopping malls in London with a huge volume of children. During the week I would visit with 200 children a day. On weekends it was closer to 300 a day.

June Drabek

I don't know what happened yesterday, but I came home from a big lunch….fell asleep, and woke up all worn out. So, I did what the body demanded and just shut down for the rest of the day and evening. What a good life I have here…no worries.

Callie, would it be possible to re-size the gift cards on your computer and print them out ? It really surprises me at times what these computers will do……or take them back to the store and find a better size in exchange.

Lloyd, I would not want you to give up on everything my friend…no way…..just those big machines that bang your poor head around and cause danger to your head.

Janie, thank you for sharing the story of your customers rejoicing in her 18 cents. what a great lesson for all of us. I'm sure God is smiling too.

Jenny, Thank you so much for your report on our Joan/Bis. I pray God will give her more healing, she is such a valuable friend to so many of us. Joe is a caring son for sure. I hope he is aware of how much we appreciate any news on our girl.

This seems to be a "day of rest" for me. Just feeling kind of puny…stomach a bit queasy. Plenty of things to go to, they offer us so much, but the body is still the "Boss", and when it says Stay Home. I listen. We will have a high of 67 today, down to 39 tonight, so I have my furnace on "low"…sun is shining, but a cool wind.

I have a fresh new book to read, so I won't get bored. Have a good day my dear ones. I love you bunches !!!!!!!!!!!
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Afternoon from a sunny mild Central Oklahoma

June,  a gift card to a store isn't for a specific product.  It's a certain amount (of your choice) of "credit" that the recipient may use however he/she chooses.  So you would not be indicating size, color, etc.
A gift card for a restaurant works the same way.  The recipient uses it - or applies it to the bill - when he/she goes to the restaurant to eat.
Yes, it's possible to print them out but it will be an entire page.  I just fold the page and put it in a Christmas or birthday card.  The recipient can take it with them when they go to the store or restaurant.

Shirley,  I used to know how long it took the corpuscles that contain oxygen to adjust to the high altitude. Seems to me it was something like 3 to 6 weeks.  I know it didn't happen overnight!

Plan du jour was to bake cookies for the family Christmas on Saturday.
A friend had invited me to go out for a birthday lunch tomorrow.  However, as we've listened to the weather forecasts, we weren't sure we'd be comfortable doing that.
So.....we went today and I'll bake cookies tomorrow.

Off to fill the bird feeders so they'll be ready for the Arctic Front that supposed to mess up the weekend.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Denver

We just had a FIRST at our house!  UPS delivered two boxes by a golf cart pulling a small trailer.  I did see on TV that they were doing this but I thought maybe in FL or AZ.....not Colorado....especially on a day like today with snow and temperatures in the 20’s!!  I really do not see how this would be cost effective or time saving!  I am sure the truck had to deliver the golf cart and trailer.....and the trailer is not even that big, so the cart must have to go back for a refill!

Thank you for the acknowledgement, Joy, June and Larry, of news about Our Joan.  I sure do wish I could have shared words that would have been more possitive.  Bless her heart..... I so want her to feel better and enjoy her life!

LARRY, I loved the Josh Grobin special, and thought it was a wonderful way to share the news of children needing homes! However, I, too felt so sad for the young children and what they have to go through with non caring parents.

I need to get busy and keep my nose to the grind stone.....

Enjoy your day EVERYFRIEND.

Callie, thanks dear…I completely misunderstood what you were saying. Easy for me to goof.

Jenny, I am so glad that you have access to Joe and that you share with us. It is the only way we know that our girl is still with us. Thank you again dear, it really means a lot.

I have been napping and eating lightly and feel like it is time for some fresh air and a walk. We are having a lot of wind today, so I'll bundle up. Fires are burning in Riverside, which is not too distant from Orange Co., but our skies are clear. We really, really do need a lot of rain out here.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I managed to get a few things done but couldn't bake as I need some crushed pineapple. I will pick that up tomorrow when we go into town for hubby's meds.

Joy, you sure are baking up a storm there, lots of good smells coming from your home.

Weatherman is calling for snow tonight and sounds like lots of it coming. then we are to get real cold weather...guess we will just put another log on the fire. :)

Enjoy your evening everyone..

Good evening,

First Jenny thanks for letting us know about Joan, our prays  are with her and her family.  I understand what it is like to live with someone with very bad COPD, and go listen to them, and you are helpless.

Hal, I can remember when I bought a set of Currier & Ives dishes from Grants, they were all of $12. and we had to put them on lay away. this was 1947 and my husband was making $95 and hr. this was for LI Power Co. he started out as grass cutter.and ended up Sub. Station Insp for all of eastern Long Island. 45 years with the co.

Shirley, we have a very big Salvation army store, it has been in Riverhead over 40 years and still going strong, they are glad to take cloths and furniture. Now please do not take any chances with that oxygen, as they put me in the hospital because mine number was down to 70, and I could have had brain damage. I also was told to take the count not a few times a day, with that finger thing. As I told you before I still have a low blood count, and have to go for a shot every Friday at the hematologist for at lest 5 weeks.

Jane, you do meet some lovely people, that was such a touching story.

June, you have to keep our small  90's club going, so take care.

Gloria de, I'll do my best to hang in there till we all make some record numbers. I just took a nice long hot shower and feel pretty frisky, even shampooed my hair.Fortunately I wear my hair short and straight....just like my Mom used to cut it when I was a little girl, so I just towel dry it and comb it and that's me. What you see is what you get.   file://localhost/Users/marjorydrabek/Pictures/Photo%20Booth/Photo%20on%202017-12-21%20at%2016.48.jpg I don't know how to post pictures, but I,m trying.
