Hi Everyone.  It is beautiful and sunny day here in South Carolina.  I am feeling somewhat better this morning after a good night of sleep. I did fix Pat's breakfast a little bit ago and cleaned up the kitchen and took care of a couple of other small task. As a result I am ready to restore my energy as found I didn't have much stamina this morning.  The housekeeper will be here in a few minutes.  Pat did call her yesterday and explained we both had been ill and gave her the opportunity to delay her visit but she choose to come anyway.  We don't think we are contagious and that the coughing is something that we will have to deal with for awhile as it seems to be staying with people for several weeks.  I have nothing on the calendar for today so it can be another one to basically rest.

Roley, thanks for sharing with us.  Life has dealt you some rough cards to play.  I can't even imagine being hospitalized for 6 weeks and sure hope you are getting stronger each day.  We are happy to have you stop in an read (and post whenever you want to).  We all care about each other and always open to having our online family grow.

Amy, I appreciate your concern and that of all of you.  I think the worst is over but will take things easy and not push.  I am pretty sure I will stay home from Church on Sunday as don't want others to have to listen me coughing.  I will go to the Wifesaver's restaurant later today for get our main meal of the day.  Neither of us are up to going into a restaurant to eat just yet but we like to keep the kitchen clean on the day the housekeeper is here.

Jane, you are an inspiration and sure glad you don't have any major health issues.  It is nice to see family even on sad occasions.

Joy, are you aware that unless you have actually downloaded the books on your Kindle that what you see in your library is really only the book covers.  You can easily delete them from your device and they are still yours but stored on the Amazon cloud storage and you can download them again if you want to reread them.  I only keep a few on my Kindle app and return them to the cloud after reading them but mark them in the category as having been read and also indicating the main type of book.  I bet you can find a YouTube video to walk you quickly through the simple steps.

Gloria, I loved the jokes you posted yesterday.

Carol, it seems when we have company we always have to be "on" and that is tiring.  We love to have the company but are always glad to get back to our routine.

Callie, like you I still like good old white bread.  I find some of the store brand breads just a good as the more expensive ones.  However, my favorite is French bread that is nice and crusty.

Shirley, I think occasionally your "wild child" reappear.  :)  You are quite an interesting person.

June, if I lived nearer to you I would certainly come over and help you by eating that outside crust of the sour dough bread.

Don, I know you are counting the days until you can see Bubble again.

Jenny, hope your trip to California has gone well.  Hope you can handle the beach OK.  I haven't tried to walk on a beach for many years but when I did the sand was soft and it was difficult to walk.  Congratuations to Mark on his new position as assistance golf pro.  Will this require a move for he and Megan.  This is really a red letter week for him.

Amy, what a cute quilt and thanks you Bubble for posting it. I emailed a copy of the picture to my wife as she never tires at looking for different quilt patterns.

Phyllis, the picking in our pantry and freezer are becoming slim so we will have to be doing some grocery shopping before long.

Carol

Jenny:  Out in California - I do hope the temperature at the beach is warm.  As for sciatica, a massage therapist helped me once - and otherwise new walking shoes.  Looking up Paso Robles - Have a wonderful time celebrating the wedding!---- Oh, my gosh - another deputy shot by a mentally ill person - something has to change.

Gloria:  good jokes!

Amy:  I could not get the quilt picture - will go back and try again.  It must be that Canadian/US border thing  ;)  I am not happy with my sewing this week - it just isn't as good as it used to be - but people are not going to critique hot pads so it won't matter.

Joy:  Good luck in downloading your books.

Mary Ann

Jenny, when walking on beach sand, if you wear walking shoes, you will have more luck.  With sandals, the sand will get under your feet and you will be uncomfortable.  Sandals may look nicer, but walking shoes are more practical.  I had plenty of practice when younger when we'd go to the beach at Grand Haven.  Of course, back in those days, we often were barefoot.  Not anymore!

Good afternoon, sunny, but a lot less wind then yesterday.  I may try to go grocery shopping, as we are also getting low, like, bread, milk eggs etc.  I did not go to homemakers to day, I went last week and there was only 20 members there.  We have a membership of 70

Amy, like the quilt.  My husbands gm, in Ala. use to make quilts out of flour sacks. I made one from a flour sack, for my first son. Tanks Bubble for posting.

Yes, also miss Hals post.

Gloria, not sure if we will have snow or rain, weatherman was not sure, Saturday is suppose to be in the 50's again.

Larry hope you keep felling better.  I do not like crust, still take it off my bread.  When I was a kid, I use to try and hide it under my plate, and my mother would say: "If you do not eat the crust, your hair won;t curl"  She was wrong, as I still have wavy hair.

Jenny, Sciatica pain, can be pretty bad, I get it really bad every couple of years.  One year we had gone to Cape Cod to my sons, and I had to stand at the counter to  eat.  setting down was very painful.  Hope you have nice weather for the wedding. Congratulations to Mark, on his new job. that is one wish I have, that I could play golf again.  When I retired I use to play 3 or 4 times a week.  I had another golf nut friend and we played with a little snow on the ground. Of course with pink or yellow balls. Maryann, gave you good advise about walking on the sand or go barefoot!

Good Afternoon,

I'm having a "leisurely" day - not dressed, bed not made, just going along taking care of this and that.... "leisurely".

Larry, so glad you're feeling like your old self - oops -  ;) much better.

So glad to see others who like plain ole store-bought white bread.  Gloria,  my Dad told me exactly the same thing about my hair.  I think he felt safe doing so because my hair was naturally curly.

Jenny,  hope you have safely arrived in California and will have a wonderful time.  Congrats to your son on his new job.

Amy,  I enjoyed seeing the picture of the quilt.  I have one made of scraps from dresses I had as a child.  I don't know who made it because my Mother could sew on a button....but not very well.  I'm not much better.
My dil is a "champion" quilter, as is her mother.  She's made a few using old family photographs she was able to put on the squares. I think those would be a very special heirloom.

Time to find at least one useful thing to do.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

JaneS

I'm just about ready to say "Take this job and shove it!"  I can't seem to get anyone to hear me when I tell them that I can't do my whole shift on a busy day on the long registers.  I think I might have to make a little noise higher up.  I don't know how hight I have to go.  A couple of years ago, I heard a rumor that they were trying to edge out the people who had worked there the longest because they were the ones making the most money.  I didn't believe it and I went to a higher source (my store manager).  He denied it unequivocally and wanted to know where I heard it.  I told him I didn't remember and before long there was a directive on the Associate bulletin board with a firm denial and a request that whoever was still circulating the rumor pleas stop!

I'm ready for my company.  I came home and pulled the doggie cover off the sofa and threw it in the washer.  It's in the dryer now and will soon be clean and ready for service.  The beds are changed and and the dinner's cooking.  Cathy's gonna bring a salad.  She always brings a salad.

Gonna go close my eyes until they get here.

Loved the quilt!

Thank you everyone on the replies for the quilt. We are a group of quilters that make cancer quilts to hand out free to cancer patients, we also do Camp Quilts for kids that have cancer and get to go to camp.I sure hope someone likes the puppies...

Hi  ! I'm here. I don't know where all those hours go but this day is once again drawing to a close. I know I spent most of the morning on the computer, but never did get to Srs. and Friends. Finished a book this afternoon and spent time picking up two more at the library, had lunch with my friends....oh I remember...I did spend an hour at a  program downstairs...a lady singing our "old" songs. I should have stayed home and visited with all of you sweethearts.

Now it is getting time to go down for supper. I usually have this meal at home, but they are serving trout tonight and I cannot pass that up. I love fish. Grew up in Mn. the state of ten thousand Lakes. No trout though. "Sun Fish" was our favorite.

My house keeper was here today and everything is clean as a whistle. Life is Beautiful. Keep well dear hearts.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June,

Tickled pink to see you rounded the corner and are yourself again :) Such a treat.

So with tons of Prayers and good Wishes from Iowa , you regained that spirit which we all love.

well It is time for me to wish you all sweet dreams and good night. hope to see you all tomorrow.

Mycheal, you are so kind and thouhtful. Thank you ! I am back from supper..trout was almost too mild, or my taste buds are too old, but I enjoyed it anyway, plus the good company. I sit with a lady 101 years of age, but should be 90..she is so aware, and a Gentleman that eats at our table. He is only in his late 70's or 80's, he has never said, but his memory, unfortunately, is about 15 minutes in  length of time. A pleasant man, former pilot for watching our coast line, after the war had ended.

I pray you all have a very peaceful night and strong tomorrow. I love you, pray for you, and best of all God is watching over us as we sleep.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm taking this opportunity to visit because I don't know how the day will open up.  If I don't get back, I'll be here when I can.  Enjoy your day and stay warm, healthy and safe!

Good morning everyone

Jane is will be a difficult day for you and your family. Thinking and praying for you today.

Laundry day here and maybe I can hang it out on the line, Hal always hung his out on the  line "thingy". Temp is 30° and weather guesser said rain or snow and I hope it will be snow as it is much easier to deal with.

Callie, have you got that quilt appraised? It sure would be interesting to hear what an appraiser would say. I have an old one here that is made out of mens old suist, scratchy ones at that. Heavy but well put together.

Larry, see we were all worried about you and happy to read you are feeling much better.

Carol, your pot holders are made with love, you can't beat that.

Gloria, only two more months to go and soon we will be swatting skeeters. At least we won't have to bundle up so much that by the time we are dressed for outside we are pooped!!

June, happy to read you had a great day yesterday.I think my favourite fish to eat would be mudcat...then pickerel  but then I enjoy fish. My Dad loved to fish and he never got skunked. The only one I would rather not eat now are smelts, had way too many as a child.

Gloria de, my Dad worked for Quaker Oats and he would bring home flour sacks and Mom would make them into sheets.........hand sewing them together.

Better get a move on here.

Enjoy your day everyone..

It is 33º and clear and dry here calling for a high of 57º today.
Hope you all have a day just like you Like it. above all stay safe and healthy.

Good morning everyone. Google would not let me in this morning. Tried to get into S&F there like I always do and had to log in. Would not accept my password so phooey I came to IE and had no trouble. Seems like every day there is something else on this lemon.

LARRY  I hope you and Pat are feeling better today. Since this building's tenants are not very social I have no idea if anyone has had those colds. I thank God I am OK so far. My family is OK too. Thank you, I will have to see  the others I have  that  JOAN had posted.

CAROL  glad you liked the jokes. Thanks.

MARY ANN  bare foot is the best way to walk on a sandy beach. When my in-laws had the house on the beach in Maine I sure did a lot of it.

GLORIA de  the sun is bright this morning so hope to get out later. The forecast here is still for snow on Monday and Tuesday. Crazy weather.

CALLIE  I am like you today, hated to get out of bed this morning and do not feel like doing anything yet.

JANE  I have heard of other companies trying to get rid of long time employees because of their higher pay. That  stinks. Like the manager here, I think she picks on the poorest ones to get them to move so she can bring in those with more money. A few others here feel the same.

AMY  oh I do remember that song. I felt like that with a few jobs I had and finally found a better job and quit.

JUNE  You can have my share of fish. Once a year is enough for me. Then I is fish and chips, all that fried food that is not good for us but is tasty. I called in yesterday and canceled the CNA, was not in the mood to listen to her complain about her aches and pains. This is a new one, the regular on is taking a leave, her husband had a stroke and she is taking care of him. She is the best of the ones I have.

JANE  will be thinking of you this week end. Do not overdo and tire yourself out.

AMY  I rather snow than rain, rain and that dampness is not kind to me. Another thing about winter, I know by the time I get all the layers on I wonder if it is worth going out for fresh air. One of my sisters used to get feed sacks that were so pretty she made a niece and me many dresses. Good cotton in them.

LLOYD TV says 40°but that is at the airport, not here.

Good Morning,

It's another sunny day in Central Oklahoma.

Janie,  Gentle hugs to you this morning.

Amy,  the "dress" quilt is only one of several I have - some of which are quite old.  I'd never thought about having them appraised.  Will have to see if dil or her mother know anything about having that done around here.

Gloria,  it wasn't that I hated to get up.  I simply didn't wake up!!!  Happened again this morning.

Time for a mug of English Breakfast Tea and some toast/peanut butter.....

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Hi Everyone.  It is an overcast morning.  I had sort of a rough night with this terrible cough.  I spent the night in my easy chair and after several hours of hacking and coughing I finally brought up a small amount of mucus and the coughing pretty much stopped and I was able to get a few hours of sleep.  However, I couldn't use the CPAP nor the oxygen last night and feel it this morning so am just going to say I hope all have a good day.  Hopefully I will have more energy tomorrow.

Mary Ann

Gloria, I told how to walk on beach sand in reply to Jenny who is going to be at her son's wedding which will be on the beach.  I don't know how casual the wedding will be, but I doubt they will be barefoot.  On the other hand, who knows?

I had plenty of experience walking on sand when I was young and I probably was barefoot most of the time.

We reached 50 degrees yesterday and I think we'll be near there today.

Nothing much is going on around here, however, Tom hasn't come upstairs  yet today.  We may go out to lunch (OTL) but I don't know yet.  We try to go out to eat once a week.

Mary Ann

Carol

Amy:  I found the picture of your doggie quilt.  That is just so sweet.  You are so compassionate to sew for Cancer victims.

I looked at several posts and pictures in the "Picture" area on here and sad to say I have been neglectful in checking out that corner.  The pictures are very proffesional - such a talented group in here.

Mary Ann:  I hope you do get out for lunch this weekend.

Lindancer

Good afternoon, sunny and quite warm for this time of year

June, Happy to see you out and about.

Jane, thought are with you and your family.

Maryann, hope you got out to lunch.  since my friend Cathy is in Fa. for three months, I do not get to Friendly's, till she comes back.  Next week suppose to meet the Red Hats in the Mall, and it is eat what you please. I was surprised so many went to McD's It is a hugh eating center, I pick Chinese.

Gloria, I guess we have the same weather pattern, warm to day and possible snow Monday.  Of course I have a dentist appointment Monday.

Amy, I like cod fish the best. Also blow fish and eels (smoked) Of course shell fish. this has been a good year for bay scallops.  As I have wrote before, my grandfather was a baymen, so we always had a bushel of oyster and clams in the garage  when I was growing.  Our driveway was white, as that is where all the shell where thrown.

June Drabek

Janie, prayers are with you and the family .  I'm praying that God will be very present during this time of mourning, and giving you all strength and understanding. You have a great family dear and I know you will all comfort one another.

Amy, I think my second favorite fish is Perch, but I haven't had it since I quit cooking. I hope you have a warmer day with sunshine and birds singing and doggies enjoying a run outside.

Lloyd, we are having a high of 76 today, mostly sunny. We need rain..lots of rain..but not all at one time.

Gloria, I also like sardines. I make a sandwich of them with lots of mayo. Also canned tuna is always on my cupboard shelf. I use it too as a sandwich. I think today I will order an egg salad on sour dough. That makes a huge sandwich, so I bring half of it home for supper. We are having a hymn sing at 6:30 tonight so I will eat early to get down on time. I still think a group of you residents should get together and send a letter to the owners of your building and tell them how management so bad. You would need a lot of signatures to make an impression that worked. But if I lived there I would sure give it a try.

Callie, I am having a slow morning also. Stayed in bed for an extra hour then pushed myself to get up and take a dose of my albluterol. I take it three times a day now, so have to keep a loose schedule. It really helps. I had a mini muffin, a whole banana, and two cups of coffee for breakfast.

Hi, my Sweet Gloria de. You are my inspiration girl. I' m very proud of our grow of 90-ers.  Now I have to close down and get down for lunch with my buddies. See you later dear.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Shirley, your link worked for me, but I had seen the picture in the original folder.

Gloria, no, we did not go out for lunch, but Tom did fix me a tuna sandwich.  I was going to fix one anyway, then Tom offered to make it and things always taste better when someone else fixes it.

Gloria, I am watching golf now, the Farmer's Open.  I forget where it is, but probably in CA.  Maybe it's in San Diego.

We are enjoying a sunny day and the temperature is in the mid-40s, not bad for this time of year.  I notice the temperature flip flop during the week.  The ice at Grand Haven is breaking up but I notice a few people there walking on the ice.

Mary Ann

Amy

Callie, you just might get a surprise at what the quilts are appraised for. A quilt show usually has an appraiser present or ask at a guild, they can tell you of one. Even a quilt shop may have some names for you???
Hung my laundry out and the wind dried it for me..it also took a lot of the ice away..

Larry, please look after yourself...

I'm saying goodnight from my iPad because my computer is being contrary. I can read my email but I can't answer it or go anywhere else on the Internet.

And of course, my fixit guys are not available until Monday. I tried turning it of and then back on but it took almost a half hour to reload everything. I hate typing on the iPad so I'll be on vacation for a while.  I'll be back when I can.

Good morning all, once again i must say a sincere 'thank you' to all who hhave sent me 'Get Well' messages, most of you are unknown to me and i to you but i really do appreciate you all for taking time to send me those messages, i am slowly getting better in speech and memory, but it is looking as if my one 'good leg' is joining the other 'Bad leg' so now i shall be a 'Wheelchair Driver' lol, but, i guess that's better than nothing !, at least, i do not have to have a Licence to drive that ! and my son or daughter will always take me out to see my favourite countryside walks here in Sussex, England.
Once again, a sincere Thank You and if anybody wishes to drop me a line i will reply, it may take a while to answer, but i will in a day or two, Thank you ALL.
