Nope, Janie, been napping all day because I knew I needed to use all this electricity when AC is not running constantly.  Son said they actually had some "brown outs" today... we didn't or I'd be resetting all those clocks~~  I had to get up early to take care of things in the yard before the lawn guy came.... bless his heart, a fireman that mows when off duty. He went to school with my gr-daughter & her husband & seems all those long time friends had kids about the same time & have remained friends. Afraid I am never perky when waking up to 75+ heat.   :crazy2:

Lightning off to the south, maybe on down to Callie?  We didn't get a drop today so will need to water tomorrow.  Wind & heat is taking a toll on plants & trees as well as grass.

Last load in the dryer right now, sheets back on the bed, soon as the dryer stops I am going to make sure those sheets smell good. I would love a nice day & clothesline to hang those sheets out like you do, Amy.... they really do smell go then!

JaneS

Well, I hope Shirley's snoring.  I slept better last night than I have in a long time! Got up once and staggered into the bathroom and back but went right back to sleep.  Even the dogs didn't budge when I moved.

Didn't say it before but I wish you all a Good Morning and a good rest of the day.  I'll be off to keep my spot at Wally World this morning and I pray for short lines and happy people....and the fast passing of time.

Good morning everyone..

Another lovely day here...temp is 50 and no humidity!!  I know it will climb today but I am enjoying this now :)

Finished a camp quilt yesterday and started another one, may get that one done today leaving only one more to do. Need to go into town to pick up meds, over to sister in laws to visit her for a bit then to the garage for him to check why my check oil light comes on.

Shirley, I love the bedding on the line especially in winter. They will freeze stiff at times but during the day they dry out nice.

Lindancer, if you have a Home Depot near they will repot your plants for you.

Larry, thank you for explaining IHOP for me. I also like bacon in my beans ,will cook some up cut into pieces and mix in the green beans with a bit of the bacon grease...….yum!!My Dad and I also liked bread fried in bacon grease and I am sure the Drs would shudder if they were told that!

Gloria, hope you enjoyed your day out. Today you can rest from it.

Jane have a great day at work, lots of smiles and a short line .

I had better boogie and get ready for the day.

Enjoy your day everyone.

JaneS well reading between the lines maybe you should do like they are telling us to do, retire and enjoy Life. something to think about. we are going to sell out and retain life time rights for the house as long as we live. will keep cattle and equipment as long as we either are alive and have say as to what to do with it. we had a new furnace and AC installed more efficient ones. old AC sprang a leak and let the coolant out. all the inside part is done rain kept them from setting outside unit yesterday. supposed to only take about one hour or less to set outside unit and  charge it today. not cheep but says it will pay for its self in a year or less as well as be more comfortable. Have a great day.

Hi Everyone. The morning starts out overcast with possible showers later today.  The lawn people started working in our neighborhood around 7 am this morning and mowed our backyard around 7:45.  They seem to be way behind this week as they are suppose to do the lawn on Tuesday and Wednesdays.  Not life's biggest problem. I didn't a  accomplish anything yesterday other than to do quite a bit of reading and listening to the audio book.  Other than going to coffee I stayed home all day and I think today I will probably stay home all day as still have no energy.  I do have the dishwasher emptied and dishes put away and things set out for Pat's breakfast when she gets up.  I did dig in the freezer and found the tilapia fillets that she plans to fix for our evening meal.

I bet you all wondered what my mother "called" her green beans.  That should have been canned.

Carol, nice to see you had good housekeeping help.  Maybe you could drop a hint to your family that some certificates for housecleaning would make and excellent gift.  We are very fortunate to have a very good housekeeper and I am thinking that after the first of the the year a small raise would be in order for her as she has been working for us for over 3 years now. To us it is worth every penny we pay her as she is always here on time and does a really good job and is always asking if there are any special things that need to be done that Pat has on her list.

Mary Ann, you all must be a lot dryer than we have been this year as everything is nice and green.  We had a couple of short showers yesterday afternoon and a chance for more today and tomorrow.

Shirley, glad you stayed in with it being so hot in your area.  It was very humid here yesterday but really not as hot getting only to about 85.  I don't know why the wine rather than grape juice.  I had a bad experience with my second glass last evening as had taken only a couple of small sips when I picked up my water glass and accidentally knocked over the wine glass.  I will use the little Sherry glass for measuring but then either drink it down like a dose of medicine or put it into a different glass as it created quite a mess.  I wasn't a happy camper and didn't refill it.  I like grape juice and often get the cranberry/grape combination drink as have a small glass of juice with my breakfast each morning that has cranberry in it with usually something else like grape or raspberry.  Hope your daughter and SIL have a great time at the class reunion.

Callie, you had some day yesterday and all of that by 10 am.  It sounds like you didn't leave anything to be done today.  :)  Are Elderhostels still being conducted.  I know we had several of our regular posters here who attended them and really enjoyed them.

Lloyd, hope all of the storms missed you.  Wish I lived closer to you as would try to get an invitation for some of that homemade ice cream.  That seems to be becoming a lost art.  Do you have an electric ice cream freezer?  What flavor did you make. Hope you get your new AC installed quickly as one needs it this time of the year.

June, nice to see you had a "day of ease" yesterday and did just what you wanted to do.  You have quite the array of plants and it sounds like they get a lot of light.  Pat has a couple of house plants that dearly love this house as we have a lot of light especially in the mornings.  In the afternoon I have to close the blinds as the light shines right into my eyes when I sit in my easy chair.

Amy, those days or times of the day when the humidity is low are really enjoyable and a morning starting out at 50 degrees is something in July that we never have here.  Are you familar with a quilting site and company run by two sisters?  One lives in Florida and the other in Europe somewhere.  Pat just ordered some fabric from them that has lilacs on it.  She has gotten material from them at least once before and was very pleased with the fine quality. If that doesn't ring a bell with you I will ask Pat the name of the company and let you know.  When we were growing up no one worried about grease in their cooking.  We had a lot of slab meat for breakfast, which I never liked as it was just uncured bacon.

Jane, years ago we tried dental insurance but had it for just one year.  It required we go to one of their approved dentists and really didn't pay that much.  I can't remember how much it might have helped with non-maintenance things.

Cottoncandy, now nice to see your posting from yesterday and to get to know some about you.  My wife and I just celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary earlier this month.  I think our life is boring only if we let it be and it sounds like you are not one of those persons.  May we just call you CC in our postings?

G'Day all.
Sorry missed your call Lloyd, hope your new A/C is keeping you cooler now, it's very 'muggy' here toda and the forecasters are saying we have a storm on the way, feels like it too !, we have no need for A/C but, if this year is anything to go by,then perhaps we may have to think of that in the future !, i'll keep a look-out for you tomorrow Lloyd, usual time if I can ! lol.....

Had a nice surprise this morning, only 10-30am and a Fox came into my back garden, sat down on the lawn and just stared at me , these urban Foxes are quite brazen, he sat there for about 15 minutes, stood up, had a last look then jumped the fence, one of my neighbours keeps racing pigeons, so i had to warn him a Fox was around, a shame your not nearer Lloyd, i'm sure you would have solved that little problem, lol.
Well, the sky is beginning to cloud over and the Gulls are starting to come inland so it is beginning to look as if we are in for some rain this evening !, so i'll wish you all a good day and hope you all have the weather that suits you best !.

We had a short rain last night and probably will have more today.  While I heated water for my coffee, I let the cat out on the front stoop and he didn't know what to do because the quack grass he wanted to eat was wet and he didn't want to walk on it.  He finally found some he could reach from the porch.  He probably remembered the time I forgot he was outside and we had a downpour and he was drenched.  And, yes, Larry, things are quite brown.  We have a sprinkling system but I think some parts aren't working.  I think the various heads work every other day or night, but with the heat, it hasn't been too beneficial.

It was 65 degrees at 8 am when I rolled out of bed this morning.  At 10:30, it is now 70 degrees and unless we have a hard rain, we will get to 80 - 85 at least.

Lloyd, I'd love a dish of your homemade ice cream.  When I was young, we used to make it - or I should say - my dad used to make it.  We loved it.

Amy, I don't believe I saw this in print, but IHOP is International House of Pancakes.  Now that they've changed to IHOB, I don't remember what the B stands for.  If our rain goes your way, you may get it in a day or two.

It must be breezy at Grand Haven as there are whitecaps on the lake.

Now I'll see what mischief I can get into.

Denver

A good Friday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

I noticed I must not have posted my post yesterday, and again it is not here.  GLORIA, I see you had a mishap as well.  I am sorry as I always enjoy what ever you have to say!

I really enjoyed reading all of the posts this morning.  It feels good to just be able to sit here and drink my coffee and read what you all are up to.

SHIRLEY, I have been watching the weather and seeing how HOT you are there in Witchata......and you, CALLIE, in OK.  As CAROL said, we have not been cooling off as much here in the evenings like we normally do, so we had to run the a/c all night.  This morning, I noticed it was cooler so I opened the doors and windows as fast as I could to ge some fresh air through here.

My friend, Patti, is in town from Wyoming again, so we will be going out to breakfast in a couple of hours and enjoying some special time together.

SHIRLEY, I am debating if I should share your dad’s story with my dad or not.  I want to, so will decide when it would be appropriate.  That is very sad that he he went down hill so quickly after doing so well. My mouth is watering just thinking about that bacon and tomato sandwich.  Then, it watered some more as I read about LLOYD making home made ice cream!

AMY, AMY.....if only I could be more like you......(and Shirley, and Janie).  You girls just amaze me how much you do!  Just the thought of fresh green beans and peas sounds so delightful.  We were talking yesterday about how we wish we could find a REAL farmer’s market to buy fresh produce.....if only we lived more north and east, I know we could.  Much of the stuff I see at our local farmers markets just doesn’t do it for me.

AMY, have you harvested your radishes yet?  IF so, have you tried them fried yet?  I do miss having a garden.  We have tried doing things on pots on the patio and they just do not do that well....things need to be in the ground.

GLORIA de, I hope you are doing better today and not in so much pain.

Oldest Son, Kurt and the two grandsons will be arriving Sunday.  They have been on a Alaskan Cruise.  DIL, Heidi’s dad hired a private “boat” and took the entire family on this cruise.  I do not know the size of the vessel, but Kurt said it had 20 suites.  They have been fishing, whale watching, seeing iceberg breaking off, seeing Moose and many other things.  What a wonderful adventure.  Kurt and the boys will be here at their mountain home in Vail for the next month.  Heidi will come for a week or so.  We hope to go up and spend a bit of time with them while they are here.

COTTON CANDY, it is good to see your posts and to learn a bit more about you.  We have enjoyed the Hill country of Texas on a few occasions. I know it has been  hot and dry down your way as well.  Many of the storms the southwest has been receiving have been quite violent, but any moisture is so appreciated.

I guess I had best get myself ready for my adventure of the day with Patti.  I wish you all a good one.

Good Morning,

Shirley,  thunderstorms didn't come this far but the north edge of Oklahoma may have gotten some.  Weather map looked as if Miss Emily may have had some rough weather around her area.

Larry,  Elderhostel is now called "Roads Scholar".   I took each of the three Grands to a different Intergenerational one the summer after their ninth birthdays.   Special times.
I also went to 7 adult Elderhostels all around the country.  Our Jenny/Bob lived in Phoenix when I went to one there and we had a nice visit one evening.
Would liked to have gone to one in Scotland but couldn't find anyone to go with me and didn't particularly want to do that one on my own as I had the one in Phoenix and one other. I went to Europe on several tours but always had a roommate.

#1 son coming for lunch.  Everything is "set it out and help yourself" and the rest of the day has been/will be "leisurely".

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

JaneS

Oh, CALLIE, I just read about your passing up and Elderhostel in Scotland for lack of a companion.  I'm afraid to say that I did the same thing.  I picked it out because of my Scottish ancestry and I couldn't find anyone who was willing to go with me.  Must be, we didn't know one another very well when that happened.  DRAT!!!

As you all may have surmised, I'm home from work and it was exhausting!  When I have a day like this, I cast around for what I can do without if I were to retire.  I always come up with the same answer.  Move to a cave and become a hermit!  I wonder?

Not gonna do anything else today.  My daughter and granddaughter are coming tomorrow.  The beds are clean and that's all I'm doing to get ready for their visit.

I read all the postings and I love hearing from all of you.  I'll try to come back when I have more energy to spare.  Enjoy your day!

Joy

Good afternoon.

I have been missing for a few days, so thought I better stop by and say "Hello"..

Have just had a lot of little things to get straightened out.  Been on the phone trying to get some appointments made and then had to go back to reschedule a couple of them.  I have a difficult time with getting transportation to so many of my appointments..   My DIL has her own business, and can usually leave pretty much when she wants to, but will people on vacation, the past couple weeks have been rough.  I have to go to a new doctor and that was a lot of rearranging days and times.

Then, my DIL got me a new cell phone.  It is one of the new Jitterbug Smart phones.  I am still trying to figure some things out.  The instruction booklet says it can help you with whatever you need, but I had a problem that there was nothing listed for help.  Wound up calling customer service and after  a good while on the phone, hope it is settled.  I wanted to be able to text my grandchildren, and my old cell phone wasn't holding a charge very long.  I do think that I am not smart enough for a smart phone???  But, I am going to persevere with it.

Jenny, glad to read that you are back home safe and that your Dad is going well.  I know that is a big worry on you, not being close to him.

Our weather is beautiful today with a lot lower humidity, but rain is in the forecast for almost the whole next week.   Not looking forward to that.  7 days of rain is too much for what we need right now, but Mother Nature is going to do whatever she wants to do.  Can't do anything about that.

I only skimmed over the past couple pages and it seems that most everyone is hanging in there.  Mary Ann, sounds like Tom and you have had a busy week celebrating his birthday and you were able to join in all the activities.

Have a good week end.

Joy

Callie and JaneS, I would have been glad to go to Scotland with either or both of you too.  I have Scots/Irish ancestry.  I was in Scotland in 2010 but I haven't been able to find my Northern Ireland and/or Scots ancestors yet.  That would not have kept me from going.  I went to Germany and Denmark in 2000 and I did see the town where my grandfather was born, and I saw some of the ancestral country, but nothing that had his name on it.  In both cases, I had a very good time and if i wasn't so old, I'd do it again.

Joy, we're not finished with Tom's birthday yet as we had to delay his celebration at Annie's last night because she found she had tickets for Jerry Seinfeld and it was necessary to change plans to next Thursday instead.  But we went to Jan's (Terry's widow) and had another good time.  I'm looking forward to seeing Jan's son and family at the end of the month.  His son is a month younger than James' twin girls.  I don't know if they'll all be able to get together, but what fun if we have three toddlers toddling around!

Joy, do you have a senior center near by.  My nephew does not always stay here. So I depend on my wonderful neighbors.  The senior center has a bus, that will pick you up and take you grocery shopping (carry your grocery in the house also) to the drug store, shopping centers.  Doctors appointments etc. If the bus is not available they have sent a town car for me.  The bus also has a wheelchair lift

What a surprise, and what a stunning cathedral - huge. There are so many  beautiful windows, one would love to examine each one in detail!
Thanks for the discovery.

Amy

Good morning everyone...

Roley, thank you for the lovely arm chair walk!!! Love looking at old churches...such history within the walls!

Tis a beautiful morning here and soon laundry will be on the line. Yesterday I chased the dust bunnies and wash floors and cleaned some..not all windows.

I managed to get the camp quilt done and I started the last one, may get that one done and then I can take them all in with me to be quilted. These were kits ,so easy to work up and fun too.

Jenny, the radishes may be ready today and I will try them fried but to eat them raw is not going to happen, my goodness they are hot!!

Joy all these new gadgets are set to try our patience! My tablet although was charge 100% wouldn't turn on so I googled and found the answer but I still don't know why it wouldn't turn on. I am just happy it is working now.

Mary Ann, thank you, wish we had IHOP here. We need the rain ,we are under a fire ban and rightly so as everything  is tinder dry!

Larry, thank you for the link and oh my such beautiful fabric.....I really enjoyed looking at all the fabric and the backing prices are amazing!

Jane, is this a work day or can you stay at home? Notice I didn't say relax at home cuz I know better, you are always on the go!

CC, good morning to you, hope you have a wonderful day.

I had better get the laundry on the line.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I had another good night's sleep and I've reconsidered my decision to become a hermit.  I'll just keep moving along!

ROLEY, I am thoroughly enjoying your occasional tours of special places in England.  I had the pleasure of visiting England many years ago and I fell in love.  You are showing me lots of places that I missed and I love it.  Thank you!

It's still cool here...down in the low 60s overnight but will reach the mid 80s later today.  Some rain is predicted and since we are still a bit on the dry side, I'll welcome it.

I'll be off to help a friend celebrate her 80th birthday over lunch today.  She doesn't know about it.  She thinks she's going to lunch with her family and won't be expecting friends to be there too.

Then later my daughter and granddaughter will be here for a very short visit...too short.  I love it when they take time from their busy schedules to spend some hours with me.  My daughter has a garden and is bringing me "some" cucumbers and zucchini.  I have to decide what to do with it when I see how much "some" is.

Enjoy your day Everyfriend!  Stay cool!

P.S.  Amy beat me in this morning while I was typing.  AMY, see activities expected for today.  Also note:  a good night's sleep was had!

Gloria

Good morning everyone, 55° hope I have better luck today and not lose my post again. Better watch what I hit on the keyboard so I donot hit a wrong key or whatever wiped my post out. First time that happened on my notepad.

PETER  I would not make it through a summer without my
AC. Hope your storm was not a bad one.

MARY ANN  we might have a thunderstorm overnight according to local weather gal. Tomorrow the humidity returns with warmer temps again.  The B in IHPB means bur gers. I heard they have gone back to the P.

JENNY  thank you. I seem to rattle on at times, but nothing much I think after posting. We have a Farmers Market around the corner and those who have been said things are not that good and more expensive than markets. My son where I used to live goes right to the farm I always went to and gets what I want there, like their strawberries and now their blueberries are ready, soo‎n will be their tomatoes. Don't know about other states but here all seniors can get coupons for $15.00 to use at farmers markets. The farm I like accepts them, too. I have beem getting them since I moved here but they have had them longer than that. I called the farm and asked  if I signed them my son can use them for me. Since we both had been going there for years she know us and she said OK. You son and family must have enjoyed that cruise.

JANE  before I retired I would get home worn out every day. I retired the day I turned 65.

JOY  getting rides to appointments is hard at times. We do have a town car that picks seniors up for doctor's appointments but you have to call as soon as you get home to make an appointment. I have one for next year already for my eye doctor. No cost for the ride either. 2 different drivers and on Wednesday and Friday they drive a bus to go to the markets and CVS pharmacy. I tried 2 smart phones, first a Jitterbug, it now sits in the box it came in. Then I tried an iphone and tried hard with that one and it now sits in it's box. Went back to a flip-phone from Tracfone. Simple to use but do not text, does not have the full alphabet, more like a telephone with 3 letter on each button.

LLOYD  without an AC I would never survive a summer anymore.

GLORIA de  I am thankful for the town car here. The town taxes pays for the car and drivers. If they have someone in a wheelchair they use the bus instead of the car because they have the lift on the bus. My son who live a few miles from me will take me to visit the vampire next week. Then we go for breakfast. Cannot do that with the town car.

PETER  will watch your link when I post. Liked the others so I know I will enjoy this one, too. The tours you have share with us ar e great. I love the man whe describes every thing and makes it interesting.

AMY  my sons and I used to love the hot radishes. My ok=ldes son is the only one now who still likes them and hot peppers. In California it is dry most of the time so every thing is tinder dry. When the get a Santa Anna wind( a dry hor wind coming from the east from the desert and over the mountains) some of  the branches rub together and that is how some of thse horrible fires start.

JANE  my son has a lot of zucchini and when he was here last week brought me some lemon zucchini bread my DIL made, Very good and nice and moist. I made zucchini bread before but never with lemon juice in it. My daughter makes relish with it. She sent me a small jar of it several years ago and it was the best relish I ever had. My SIL will not eat anymore of the bought relish. If she doesn't watch him he would empty a pint jar of it at one meal.

I started here at 5:15 this morning. Had my coffee and my breakfast so I think it is time for me to shower and dress for the day. Keep cool.

white sands missal range it would get to 110º in the shade. did not have the humidity we now have here now. must have been tougher then, also the days I worked in front of a forge heating plow shears for sharpening and making and sharpening horse shoes. also forge welding had to get the metal almost to melting point.

Hi Everyone. It looks like we will be having rain on and off throughout the day and evening.  I think this going to be a good day as I felt like getting up this morning.  I had my shower and shaved and then laid back down for close to an hour and read my emails and the postings in the discussions as well as the various devotional materials I read each morning.  Then got up, got dressed, folded a some towels and other things that were in the dryer and unloaded the dishwasher.  So I was ready to sit down and have my breakfast, which I am now doing.  I plan on attending a meeting this morning and on the way home I will pick up an online grocery order from Walmart and then make a very quick stop at Aldi's for about three items.  That will be it for today.  Pat is now up so I just fixed her breakfast.  I am now hearing thunder in the background.

Roley, there is a lot of problems with foxes being rabid over here so one has to be very careful and also protect small pets.

Mary Ann, we have made it through another week without having to water and the forecasts for next week look about like this week so maybe we will luck out and not have to water then as well.  Actually, the IHOB name change for IHOP was a trick to get publicity for the new hamburgers they are now featuring.  They have no intent on actually changing the name from IHOP.  They are running ads advising of the ploy.

Jenny, nice to see you could slow down enough to sit and enjoy your coffee and read.  Sometimes it seems life gets pretty busy and I know that has been the situation for you all for awhile.  I hope you and Patti had a great time together.  That must have been some "boat" that the family had for the cruise.

Callie, I wonder why they changed the name from Elderhostel although maybe they wanted to indicate it wasn't just for seniors.

Jane, we sure don't want you to move to a cave and become a hermit.  Glad you can get revived with a good nights sleep.  Enjoy your time with your daughter and granddaughter even if the visit is short.

Joy, I don't envy you trying to juggle appointments with getting transportation.  Maybe the vacations for your DIL's staff will soon be over and she will be more available to help you get where you need to go.  I hope you like the Jitterbug Smart phone.  I looked at those for Pat but she likes to carry her phone in her pocket and I didn't think that fit the bill.  She is getting used to the iPhone she has as it is small and works well.  I bet you will master that smart phone and enjoy the features.

Lloyd, I can remember how hard it was to turn the hand crank ice cream freezer when it got to a certain stage.  The electric ones also do a good job.  Glad your new AC is now installed and working well. They are pricey items.  We have been fortunate not to have to replace and AC unit but that is probably because we kept moving and most often bought a new home that had a new unit.  I was getting a bit worried with the house we just moved from as we lived their about 20 years and know the unit wouldn't last forever.  Fortunately, it was a good unit and we didn't have to replace it before we moved here.

deAngel, it sounds like you have good help with transportation and also good neighbors.

Amy, Pat got the material she had ordered from the company I sent you the link for and she is very pleased.  She got a package of 1/2 yard pieces which are all color coordinated.  Isn't it amazing how we can now find answers to about any question by googling it.

Gloria, as far as I know there are no coupons to use at a farmer's market.  Pat has made zucchini bread in the past and it is very tasty.  You sure had an early start of your day today.

Amy, I looked at the radar and rain is all over Michigan, but none of it seems to be headed for your part of Ontario.  Everyone will laugh at one of my favorite lunches - a radish sandwich.  The bread is 15-grain.  I was brought up in the Depression and that was one of many substitutes our parents found for sandwiches.  And I still like the radishes on bread.

I don't take a newspaper any more and I have adblock on my computer so I never saw anything about IHOP and IHOB.  Not even anything about it being a "teaser".

I have never heard of anything like a "town car" for seniors here.  I'm fortunate that I have Tom and when I make an appointment, I let him know.  He has a calendar on his computer where he makes note of it so between the two of us, we rarely forget.  Of course, you have the time a week ago that I thought I had a dentist appointment but was unsure of the time.  I called the office and found out my appointment is next Monday.  I would have had egg on my face.

Larry: Your housekeeper sounds like a gem.  Having a crew come in here for under 2 hours was a gift - it takes me about two days to do the deep cleaning on one floor - that includes a nap.   ;)  Still, I just don't like to spend money on things like cleaning --- always fixing a meal an hour later so then there is still clean up.  Windows and baseboards are the hardest for me.

Gloria:  There are always gremlins waiting to do mischief with the electronics.

Roley:  Interesting that you can predict the weather when the gulls move in shore.  We have fox here but they stay hidden - we also have coyotes (they look like dogs but are tricky).

Joy:  Good wishes with your new cell phone.  I just learned the art of BLOCKING on mine - getting about two calls per day from trash.

Gloria de:  Transportation gets iffy so I am happy you have a couple of choices.  Jenny and I are in a suburb where we can call for a little bus - set up an appointment.  I am not sure how far they will drive.  With everyone in the world moving here (not too much of an exaggeration}} I am wondering how we will even be able to drive around in a few years.  Everyone speeds and whips their cars in and out of lanes - they are so obnoxious.  Of course, I drive perfectly -

Amy:  I have to look for some more batik because the 45 X 45 square I just sewed needs to be larger - and the batik I have won't look good - so that is my excuse.  Why is it that nothing I have matches so I end up having to buy more when the goal is to downsize the fabric shelves?

Mary Ann I told Nancy about your radish sandwich. she said she never ever had one of them but onion and butter ( real home made cow butter) we have sweet corn ready to eat in our garden.  the way i butter it is put big hunk of butter on a slice of bread and role it in it. I think i will do a ear of corn and slice a onion and some radish's and put them on the bread i butter it with. that should be good. thanks for the tip.

Lloyd, I have heard about onion sandwiches, but I've never had one.  I like onions, but in smaller quantities than I'd use in a sandwich.  I do have onions on burgers or hot dogs, and other meats.  Maybe I'll try one some day.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I think I'll have some tomato and cottage cheese now.  I have to finish what is in the refrigerator!

JaneS

I just got home from my friend's 80th birthday party.  It was very nice and she was surprised to see the extra people that her son had invited besides family.

Now I'm awaiting the arrival of my daughter and granddaughter from Maryland.  They should be here in about an hour.  Don't know if I'll get back in so enjoy your day!

Mary Ann actually I am on a  see food dieat, see food and eat it. Nancy has a saying, if it taste good spit it out it is not healthy for you. I do not listen to her on that subject especially on my sweets. I do not have a sweet tooth I have sweet teeth. well it is past my bedtime so sweet dreams and good night.

Just in to wish you all a very blessed Good Night. A quiet day here filled with reading. Doing three books, plus the daily prayer book, Bible and email. My eyes need a dose of Visine.

Sleep well, Peace, Love, Hugs and more prayers. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good morning every one, 63° and raining. Looks like we will have a warm/hot week with rain and thunderstorms according the the weather guessers. Some bad storms with downpours. Oh well we just have to take what Mother Nature hands us.

PETER  I enjoyed your armchair walk yesterday. Beautiful Cathederal and so many wonderful windows. Like Bubble said I would love to see them close.

LLOYD  I agree with you, these modern conveniences we have spoiled us. Nice not having to empty the pan under the icebox and have a way to make ice in the freezer and not wait for the iceman to deliver ice with his horse and wagon. I remember as a kid when he would come all the kids would get around waiting for him to give us a small piece of ice. Even an ice cream cone from the neighborhood store was a big treat.

LARRY  I first heard of the farmers coupons when I moved here and to get them you had to go to the town hall and bring proof of where you live. Now the man who helps residents arranged to have them here and we sigh up for them, when they come in we go down to the community room and get them. I gave mine to my son yesterday. They are now picking blueberries at the farm I like so he will be bringing some next week. Have to straighten my freezer so I can freeze some.

CAROL  I think  gremlins and devils were installed into this computer before I got it. So many times I felt like getting rid on it and having no more computers. Then I would miss everyone here so keep trying to be gentle with this machine.

LLOYD  I have a nephew when in grammar school went home for lunch and wanted an onion sandwich and going back to school. Yuck thinking of onion breath.

Have a good day.
