The words to Vincent (Starry Starry Night)

 https://youtu.be/oxHnRfhDmrk  (https://youtu.be/oxHnRfhDmrk)

Vincent (Starry Starry Night)
Don McLean

Starry starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

Starry starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you

Starry starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
hHow you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They're not listening still
Perhaps they never will

I am first here to post in our nice new and shiny Soda Shoppe. Thank you, BUBBLE.

I have always loved The words to Vincent (Starry Starry Night) 💕 Now, anytime I hear or see it I think of Our late Gladys😘

It was a toasty day here today.  It will be in the 90's most of the week.  It makes me want to head for the hills!

JANE, I am so sad to read the news of your  "Brother", Jim passing away.  I know he was very special to you and I know you will miss him just as Marge will😢😢  The strawberry picking and jam making sounded very successful.  I hope the Marylanders made it home safe and sound.

It is my bedtime so I will wish you all a good night of rest and pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny

Jenny, what is the link between Gladys and Starry Night? I don't remember?  I do remember she was a terrific story writer in the very old Seniornet and I enjoyed them so much.

so_P_bubble the spelling is correct for My wife's brother's Name. (Don McLean) is deceased now but was a different Don McLean. I posted some of the  family  History and the change of the spelling when her family came to the united stats a while back. Hope everyone has a great day and a better tomorrow.

Just checking in.  I'm not feeling conversational this morning.  Funeral is on Friday.  Maybe after that, I'll collect myself.

Also, Frankie has an appt for a liver biopsy on Thursday.  Please say a prayer for her that they don't find anything amiss.  She's only 26!  Lots of good things ahead of her, I pray!

Thanks for all the good wishes.  Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone, overcast and 54 now. Yesterday was beautiful weather wise but I did not see anyone out and about. I did go out for a short walk. Too nice to stay inside. All the cars were in place but it felt like I was the only one in the area. Weird feeling.
The RI governor is slowly opening things up and already new cases of the virus are showing up. Too many getting together and not  wearing a mask. Glad I have enough masks to wear and wash. That is thanks to a good friend who made some for me.

LLOYD  I think I told you my daughter experimented with the sour dough starter  and finally gave up.

AMY  how many sheds do you have to stack the wood in? Is your pup still carrying wood for you? or got tired of it?

PHYLLIS  my son checked the farm  and loks like they will have no or very few strawberries this year. I will miss them. I usually get several quarts and freeze them. I do the same with their blueberries. They are on the smaller side and taste more like the wild ones we used to pick. Big ones seems to watery and not as tasty.

JANE  I had a good snooze yesterday afternoon. I think I am getting bored and that is why I nap so much during the day lately. Onoy one I see 5 days a week is Yvette and younger son on Saturday.

BUBBLE  thanks for the new page. Wonderful graphics as usual from you, just what I expect from you. Love the wise thoughts, too. The link to Vincent is lovely seeing all the art work in the background of the words. Thank you.

JENNY  if I dream I never remember any of them.

JANE  prayers for Frankie. Too young for health problems like that.

Time for my second cup of coffee.

Have a good day and stay safe.

We are in for a rainy week again.  But, it is supposed to be cooler so I won't complain...well, not too much.

Good positive thoughts for Frankie.

Gloria, I prefer the little wild blueberries, too, but I can't find them in the market any more so the local blueberries are a good option.  Bigger but tasty as long as they are locally grown.  Have some good flavor to them.  I watched the "Yankee Weekender" tv show yesterday.  They did a segment on Rhode Island food.  They showed about oyster farming, and Quahogs from the Narragansett with some good sauce , also,  "Awful-Awfuls", etc.  I thought of you.

Laundry day today.  I must remember to put our masks in and wash them.

Take care, All.

Good morning everyone, was sound asleep by 9:30 last niht so I am up and at 'em early this morning.  53 now  and humidity is high, not unusual. Always high during the night and one reason without an AC it is hard sleeping at night.Wind now is 2mph. No matter how windy all day at night there is hardly a breeze.

PHYLLIS  nice you saw something on TV about this little state. A restaurant called Newport Creamery has the Awful Awful. If one can drink one  they get another free, or used to at one time. I never had one, too big for me. Did they show the clamcakes and chowder? Worth the ride to the shore just to get some. Need the atmosphere of the ocean to really enjoy the flavors with the smell of the ocean. There used to be a lot of wild blueberry here but as more people from the city bought property here they cut them down to build. What a waste.

LLOYD  with this virus around I would not want to travel anywhere.

Wow not much going on in here since I posted yesterday.

Have a good day and stay safe.

well Gloria conman since seams to have got up and left, I went to V A yesterday for a couple of appointments  the one where they put jellylike stuff on a device and rub around over the collared arty and the machine squalls. they did that and fixed the tubes on one hearing aid and sent me home wit instructions to call the doctor and talk to him on the phone.I guess so he wont get sick. I do not have the viruce So he was safe anyway. It is already 70º @5:50 A M and calling for upper eighty's or lower 90's. so i will stay in and get in Nancy's hair and hear her holler. that will keep her blood flowing and help keep her healthy. Have a great day

I'm here but I've been spending more than an hour on the phone with my sister at least once a day and sometimes twice a day.  When I get off, I'm drained and sad and I have to get up and work at something to get myself back in shape.

I'll be back at some point.  Keep us all in your prayers as I keep all of you in mine!

So much rain.  It is hard to keep the spirits up when it is dark and gloomy outside.  I was looking down into the dark and mysterious woods last night and the childhood song kept going through my head....

"If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise!"

Does anyone else remember Teddy Bear's Picnic?  Now I can't get it out of my head.

Hi everyone

I haven't been here for a couple of days as I was so behind with my book reviews that I really had to keep my head down. Got one more to do on the 'urgent' stack - lots more on the 'slightly less urgent' pile! The last book I read, The Last Hillwalker, was really excellent.

Jane - I am so sorry to read about your brother-in-law, I will keep you and your sister in my thoughts.

Lloyd - I have never made sour dough. It has become a 'thing' here since lockdown, everyone seemed to be making it, as you did not need yeast (which, for a time, no-one could get). I read about how to do it but it sounded like such a faff - and the shops have always had plentiful supplies of bread, so I just could not be bothered. I do remember, however, the first time I ever ate sourdough - it was in San Francisco, maybe 40 years ago, and it was fabulous.

Last week I went for a walk with a friend. It was very nice to see her, but I must admit I had forgotten just how manic she is about germs, even in 'normal' times - so at the moment she is in complete overdrive, and I think she probably thought I was a terrible slacker. I do wash my hands thoroughly on return to the house (and when you walk in the countryside around here you don't need to touch anything anyway) but I wouldn't be surprised if she jumps into a bath of Dettol. All a bit exhausting. I am meeting another friend tomorrow - luckily she is rather less obsessive! I am looking forward to seeing her after all this time, and I will be even more pleased when we are able to travel further than 5 miles and we can meet up with my son and daughter-in-law, who live in the Highlands.

We have had very damp, dark, humid weather until this afternoon. I have done a lot of walks in the drizzle, it is quite eery when cows loom out of the mist at you! Today I was down at the river and saw two herons; it's the first time I've seen two together.

I have just posted off a package to my mother's friend in Kent. He will be 80 at the weekend, does not have any family, and will not even be able to celebrate with his friends in the sheltered housing where he lives as they are all being told to stay in their rooms to avoid infection. I sent him some home made cake, Mackie's Scottish chocolate, haggis oatcakes (never seen them before!) and a few other bits.

At the weekend we watched a film called 'Goodbye Christopher Robin' - it was about the boy who was the inspiration for the Christopher Robin & Winnie the Pooh books, Unfortunately his parents, though very wealthy, were quite dysfunctional. His father - the author AA Milne - was terribly shell shocked in the First World War, and found it hard to cope for a while, though when he moved the family from London to the Ashdown Forest in Sussex he began to recover, and eventually developed a good relationship with his son. The mother, Daphne de Selincourt, was very odd, estranged from her own family, spoiled, volatile and selfish - she had not wanted a baby at all, and especially not a boy, so she dressed him as a girl and let his hair grow long. She wanted to carry on with her wild social life, and was bored in the countryside, so she often went back to London, once for some months, leaving the child in the care of his nanny, whom he adored. When the nanny married she was forced to leave, and Christopher was devastated. When Milne started writing the Winnie the Pooh books, Christopher became a child celebrity, but eventually he grew to hate this, and resented the way in which his parents had cashed in on his name. He was horribly bullied at boarding school because of the books. When Milne realised this, he swore never to write about Winnie again, and the two were reconciled. Christopher did in the end have a happy marriage and became a bookseller. It was a nice film, though quite sad in places, and the photography of the English countryside was wonderful.

Have a good day all,

Rosemary

The day was interesting. We went to town and had a nice surprise, instead of 8 the barber opened at 7.30. While I was waiting outside,a man opened up the passenger door and sat down! After 3 months of not having a proper hair cut sat Kyle.😁
He likes his hair short ,trimmed up not into the curls it was growing.
I did manage to wash floors and do one load of wash. Then after supper we heard a noise outside ,ran out in time to see our last load of wood being dumped.

Gloria, we have three sheds for wood so it is all under cover but open at front for it to dry out proper. Also easy for Jesse to bring in. He does not realize that we don't need it now.

Time to put my feet up.

GOOD EVENING EVERYFRIEND.

Just getting in to see how you all are doing.  Had router problems so Bob got a new one and after quite the ordeal of getting it up and running we are finally back in business!

BUBBLE, I am sorry that I have no details to tell you about Vincent and Gladys, just that she commented on it more than a few times and how much she loved it.

JANE, I am holding good thoughts and saying prayers that the report for Frankie will not be serious and special thoughts for you and your family during this difficult time.  I know you and your sister are helping each other out being able to talk,  HUGS🙏🙏

GLORIA, how sad that your son does not think he will have many strawberries this year😩😩

Yea, AMY.  Lucky Kyle getting a hair cut!  I need one so badly, but have kept Bob's cut.

I have to admit I was in a real funk over the weekend.....just so much sadness and angriness going on all around.  Yesterday I got out to the store to do some real grocery shopping and it did me a world of good to just get out of the house and do something a bit more normal.  I was somewhat like a vacuum cleaner though.....I was buying everything in sight😘  The hard part was when I got home and had to put it all away.  Some meat packages had to be split up, etc.

I made a potato salad this morning and now Bob is cooking bone in chicken thighs in the air fryer.  Sure is smelling yummy!  Tonight the food truck is in our community but we just did not like the menu, so decided not to partake.

I wish you all a good night.

Jenny

Rosemary I have never either, but reading and watching the video's about it intrigues me. I am not a good cook of most things, but of a few casseroles I do surprise some folks. I make one with (cooked rice 2 cups, 1 can of cream chicken or cream of mushrooms your choice, 1 pint of sour cream, jalapeno slices, ( bite slices of ham mostly, but some times i cook steak almost done first and put it in there.  i put a good amount of the mixture of in the bottom of a  8 x 12 baking dish, sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over that and alternate the meat pieces and jalapeno slices over it side and end to end.put the grade cheese over that a good 1/2" to 3/4" and bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and bowend to your taste. hop if you fix it hope you enjoy as much as we do. and the jalapeno's dose not make it hot either.

Just a quick trip down and back...no fabric shopping :(

Jenny, want some cheese curd?

Gloria, does your son also have raspberries? I will pick strawberries for others to have but look out on the raspberries..those are my favourite!

Jane, twice now I have tucked the pumpkins in and they are doing great. Hope no more frost threats.

Phyllis, we could use rain here and they say Sun Mon is when we will get it. Hope it is a gentle one.

Better get ready..

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe.

Still raining here.  Amy, I would be happy to send it on up to you if I could manage that.

Nothing planned today except to make out an online grocery list for David to pick up tomorrow.  I haven't been particularly interested in eating lately so I haven't been interested in cooking.  We don't need much from the grocery store this week.

Jackie, that darned song was in my head all day yesterday!

Take care, All.

Good morning everyone. Slept good last night and woke at 7 this morning. 56 now but looks like the end of this spring temperature. Will get close to 80 this afternoon. AC will be running in here if it gets that hot.

LLOYD  i CAN SEE STAYING INSIDE WHEN IT IS THAT HOT BUT DON'T MAKE NANCY HOLLER. Stop teasing her all the time. You have a group of ladies here who will back up Nancy. We ladies stick together you know :)

AMY  no wonder you were not here early yesterday. Felt like most deserted the SS when I was here.

JANE  I was wondering if you had gone to be with your sister. I know you will both miss your "brother" a lot and many tears will be shed.

PHYLLIS  the woods must really have been dark and mysterious to bring that song to your thoughts. Hate to rub it in but this week so far has been wonderful. Cool nights and not higher than mid to's in the day and low humidity.

ROSEMARY  I never read a Winnie book. My 3 did enjoy the cartoons on TV when they were young.

AMY  had a chuckle about the man getting into your car. After 3 months I be t there was a big difference in his appearance. I remember the picture of your sheds wi th all  tha t wood s tacked up  to  the ceiling. Lots of work doing that in 3 sheds.

JENNY  it is the farm that will not have strawberries, not my son. He justs gets them for me. If there was a food  truck around here I imagine the witch would not allow it on this private property.

AMY  my oldest son had raspberries but my DIL never did anything with them so he got rid of them and now has a garden where they were.

PHYLLIS  glad we are not having all that rain. I would be in trouble with my back. Ben great  with this stretch of low humidity days.

JANE  hope today is better for you and your sister.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfrind!  I'm learning to live with the loss of Jim but I'll always miss him.  It's much harder for my sister.  They were married 65 years in August!  That's going to take some time for her.

Christy is coming from Maryland to be with Frankie while she has the test and waits for the results.  She's also bringing me a fresh-from-the-garden head of lettuce.  I'm going to have a cole slaw and fried cabbage like my grandmother used to make....if I can remember how she made it!

I hope you are all having a lovely day and that it continues through the week.

Good morning. it is being very slow to clear off.  Predicted showers for later.

Jane, I have been missing a couple days, but, I do want to let you know how sorry I was to read about the passing of your "brother".  Sincere sympathy to you and his family. I remember your talking about how he was just like your real brother.......not a brother-in-law.

Hope all will go well with the procedure that Frankie is having.  Hope she will have a good outcome.

It is still pretty slow going here.  Not getting much done, and still very lazy.  Have a hard time staying awake most days.   But, I have been getting some reading done.

Hope everyone is just hanging in there the best that they can.   Just wish all this mess would go away.

Have a safe day.

A good Wednesday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND!

YES, PLEASE, AMY......I would love some cheese curds! Oh how I wish you could😘 I hope you had a good drive and got lots of chocolate and cheese to make Kyle smile!

GLORIA, sometimes I wonder where my brain is.....I knew it is a farm your son gets the strawberries from🤣. Still sad that you won't be getting any. Food trucks are really getting big around here and now almost every community has one once a week.  Nice for those that have missed going out to eat during this Covid time. I am sure you are right....the *itch would not allow one.  I would like to order her a "special" meal that she would not forget for awhile🤪

JANE, happy to read that Christy is going to be with Frankie for the test and the results. 🙏

PHYLLIS, I think it is hard to want to fix food when it is so warm.  We bought a lot of meat and now none of it sounds good to me🤪

Good to see your post, JOY.

It is going to be another HOT one out there today, so I best get my watering done.

Have a great day.

Good morning everyone, looks like the low temperture is over along with the low humidity. Going to 80 at least today. Oh well these last few days I enjoyed it and it is that time of year for hot days and humidity climbs with the temperature. I will enjoy my new AC and having to put a sweater on to keep warm. Running that portable one 24/7 never got it cool enough in here. The witch has said nothing about this one.

JANE  one of my  sisters made fried cabbage with wide noodles. I don't know how she made it but it sure was tasty. Glad Frankie will not be alone with those tests.

JOY  good seeing you here at last. Missed you. You and I are both on a feeling lazy streak. Seems all I want to do is sleep. I think this keeping away from almost everone is getting to me. No one goes out of their  apartments except to go for groceries. Sure glad I have Yvette here for 2 hours 5 days a week.

JENNY  thanks for the chuckle with the *itch, many in here call her that. New people here think she is so nice till they have been here awhile and found our how nice she IS NOT.

LLOYD  like you I like to  tease. Heck if we canno t get  some laughing in every day something is wrong.

AMY and PHYLLIS and ROSEMARY hello when you ge here.

Time for my second cup of coffee.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning Gloria and everyone else that show up in a little while. well the tattle tale said I got 5.5 hours of sleep but as i have said before it tells how long i have it on and breathing  air flow through it, but not how long I actual sleep. It is 70º and clear now @ 4:55 AM and going to 88º today here so couch Jockey sounds good to me for today. I have  some pallets and some other lumber laying out in the back yard to build Nancy a raised bed for her flowers and some veggies. she wants to be able to stand up and work it.Have a good day everyone. we have some tomato plants in a flour bed out front and some sun flowers up and going for early fresh lettuce and carets and  tomatoes.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I have my car this morning and I'm going to attempt to get myself to the Hair Salon for a haircut.  There just isn't anyone to take me and since Frankie doesn't need it this morning I'm up.  Wish me luck and if you think about it whisper a little prayer in His ear asking Him to ride along with me.  Its my first outing since the broken arm!

I hope you all have a great day!
Make it your own in every way!

Yesterday was a good haul both at the cheese factory and the chocolate factory...

Jane, please be careful.. prayers headed your way. I am glad Cristy will be with Frankie. Prayers for all to go well.

Gloria, you are right we will side on Nancy's side :))

Lloyd, sending you an email.

Jenny, we sure did stock up as my friend in AZ would say we hit a gonga.....Not knowing when we will get back that way we bought Kyles favourite and I also got some of mine. No curd as they don't have the one we like..garlic and red pepper. We can get that one here at the dairy. :)

Better get a move on.

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe.

Jane, I know how you must view with some trepidation your first time back driving! It was scary for me, but I didn't go very far, just to the grocery store; 1.2 miles and practically a straight line after I had 2 right turns, one getting out of my street, the other getting on to the straight-line road to store.  It makes you feel so much better when you can get in your car and actually "go somewhere" without having to impose on friends or neighbors. (Do you have a brace on your arm to prevent over-moving the shoulder?) My brace was mostly for the wrist, but it sure kept things safer with the steering wheel in making turns.  Be safe, good luck. I passed my one-year anniversary of the breaks on June lst.  A long haul, but we just keep on keeping on don't we?

Vera Lynn died at 103

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/world-war-ii-forces-sweetheart-singer-vera-lynn-dies-at-103/ar-BB15ExyK?ocid=spartan-ntp-feeds

My Dad sang many a song with her along with the other soldiers that came to our home. Some with tears in their eyes ...she sang to the hearts of the soldiers . No other entertainer could command them like she did.

What a great lady.

Good morning everyone, 67 already at 3:30am. I was in dreamland by 9 pm last night, no wonder I am here so early.

LLOYD  both my sons have their gardens planted and doing good. Oledest son has more room for his garden and every year tries different tomatoes.  Last year they both kept me supplied with so many tomatoes I made spaghetti sauce and froze it.  Was nice during the winter and so much better than using cans of tomatoes.

JANE  I know you did good dring yesterday and getting your hair cut. I had my DIL cut mine very shrt last time and after a month it is still short enough for me.

TOMEREADER  I had my right shoulder replaced and had plans for the left  one to be done. I had not driven in seemed like years but was aa couple of months. Had my son go with me the first time I drove and could not make a sharp left turn. Bad news. Got  back home and took the keys of my keyring and gave it to him. That was the end of my driving. Still miss the independence it gave me.

AMY  you can keep the cheese but would like some of that chocolate. Wish there was a  factory like that around here. I remember hearing Vera Lynn on the radio back in the 1940's. Beautiful voice.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone.

Going to be a fry day Friday here..with a hint of rain .

We finished piling all the wood yesterday..no the attention can be on the garden. Need to pick up the neighbour this morning and give him a ride home.

Gloria, you can't beat fresh tomatoes for sauce...we only have6 tomato plants in but I can go to a road side farm and buy a bushel to do sauces with.

Jane, today is going to be a difficult one for you and your family...........saying good bye is never easy. Hold tight to all the good memories .

Want to water the garden so better get going.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Stay safe.

Good morning, Amy and Gloria.  You are both early birds this morning.

I was up a lot earlier than usual, so thought I would say an early good morning.  Of course, nothing exciting happened yet, except for getting my trash out to the trash room.  That is a big job for me, but has to be done.  Just have to walk across the hall and put it in.  Glad I don't have to go any further.  Sometimes, the maintenance man will make two trips to empty it on Fridays, as it can really build up over the weekend.

Nothing going on, so I will just wish everyone a good day.

Will be thinking of you, Jane.

Vera Lynn...."White Cliffs of Dover" and "We'll Meet Again", and other beautiful songs.  Oh, yes, I remember her very well.  She sang songs of hope during some really dark times for all of us.

Yesterday was a "lost day" for me so I'm glad to be back even though still not feeling quite tip-top yet.  Still cloudy, humid, with more rain coming (so THEY say.  ugh!).

Take care, All.

Phyllis ,each day is a good day when you are here. We are needing the rain bad here. We are to get 30% chance today then again on Sun ,Tue ,Wed and Thur. I sure hope we at least get rain on one day, blessing if on more than one day .

Good Morning,

Janie, holding you and your family in my thoughts and prayers today.

I'm amazed at how many details of WW2 so many of you remember.  I was in First Grade when Pearl Harbor was bombed and finishing 4th grade when the atom bomb was dropped.  Maybe my lack of memories is due to cousins much older than I being the only family members in the military - and they didn't live anywhere near us.

Looks as if my flower beds may get a double watering today.  I turned on the little sprinklers earlier and now it looks as if it "might" rain.  Radar shows most activity north of here so....who knows?

Tulsa will be in the news all weekend.  At least, it will be a change of subject...kind of.

Off to find something useful to do....

It is so nice to read all of your posts.  Sometimes I cannot get in here to read daily notes.  Today, I started cleaning some of the many window blinds.  Yuk and more Yuk.  We are making a list for COSTCO and trying to figure out what is a good time - know they have Senior hours but Don is leery of their health.  We have not been there for months.

We visited the Van Gough museum and also stayed near the apartment where he lived and painted.  I really like the song "Vincent" because it is so different.

Don needs to go to the VA audiology dept. and they have been closed for a long time.   :(

It is always nice to come in here and check out your happenings - stay safe.

A Good Friday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND 🦋

JANE, I have been and will continue to think about you and the family today as you gather together.  🙏🙏

The temperature has dropped nearly twenty degrees the last couple of days and we are to have rain today, but so far just a couple of sprinkles.

It was sad news yesterday regarding the passing of Vera Lynn.  I did not realize she was still living.  What a wonderful lady for all she did for the moral of the troops🙏.

CAROL, we have found that early afternoon, mid-week is the best time to go to Costco for a time when fewer people are there to shop.  I just went for the first time last week and it sure did feel good to be doing my OWN shopping.  For the most part people do seem to do their very best to avoid getting too close to one another.  It feels rather strange when you go for the first time....kind of like you are doing something wrong🤪🤪🤪

We got to see Jonah and his parents yesterday......my goodness that boy is getting so big.  He is so active, as all 18 month olds are and is he ever trimming down.  He has a boy haircut that his mama gave him and it made him look so much older.  We met in a little park and his mom went over to a little Mexican Restaurant and picked up some carry out for us to eat.  It was their Father's Day Celebration for Bob.

I wish you all a god rest of your day.

Jenny

Good morning everyone, looks like an AC day here. just checked the forecast and going to be 85 yuck, that means the humidity will be high.

AMY  are your wood sheds all full yet? Not a fry day here, more like a boil day. My daughter and SIL will be frying in Arizona, getting close to 100. They work outside eearly and again in the evening. They stay inside most of the sunny part of the day. I realy could live on tomato and lettuce sandwiches as long as fresh tomatoes last.

JOY  you are lucky you just have to go across the hall to get rid of the trash. We have 2 trash bins outsid at the other  end of the building. I cannot even raise the cover on them so my CNA takes it out for me.

LLOYD  good morning, hope you are behavig yourself and not teasing Nancy too much.

PHYLLIS  those we re 2 songs I thought of when Amy mentioned Vera Lynn yesterday. Both sad but uplifting at the same time. We have had a dry spell for more than a week now but rain is in the forecast for the end of next week. If not careful we will be having brush fires around the state.

AMY lawns here will be t urning brown if we don't  get rain soon.

CALLIE  how do you like the new holiday they were talking about on the news yesterday?

CAROL  nice seeing you here this morning, been awhile since you posted here.

JENNY  so glad you got to see Jonah. I have not seen my little one since Christmas. My grandson will call me and I talk to my almost 5 year  old. Better than nothing I guess.

JANE  I know seeeing your family was good but the occasion was a sad one. I am not good at saying what I mean but I was thinking of you and the family.

LLOYD  I was supposed to have some teeth out back in April and still waiting for the dental place I go to open up.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone...
No rain last night and it looks no rain either this morning. Will hang laundry out to tempt  rain as we need it. Other than work about the house   nothing much is planned. If time permits will do more jam but we shall see.

Gloria, all sheds are full.....some with a little space left but not much. Need to take photos yet. I can't wait till fresh tomatoes are ready.. We have 4 plants of big tomatoes and one with sweet millions on it...the tiny ones. You know the kind when you walk by grab a handful and munch on them. :)

Jenny, I remember my sons first haircut. He had curly hair and the barber was kind enough to save me the curls. The Dr are not giving my friend chemo, said that the tumor has only grown a little  since being off the chemo due to Covid-19.

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Whispering good morning everyone.. don't want to wake up Jane's company.

Still no rain :( Hope we get some soon.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads . We are having company  and so are the dogs!

Made soup in the IP yesterday , so quick and easy all of 5 min to cook. Took longer to cut everything up and didn't heat the house up.

Callie, would love to see a photo of the dogs in the pool.

Gloria grass here will also be turning brown. I heard in some areas they  have put a water restriction on.

Lloyd, I think your raised beds will turn out just as nice for your sweetie.  :smitten:

Joy and Phyllis hope you both are well..

Better get ready for the day.

Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, wow slept later today. Was already light when I woke instead of needing to put a light on to see where I was going. Don't want to hit a wall with my rollator, might have to pay to repair it. The wall, not my rollator.

AMY  your sweet millions sound like what we call cherry tomatoes. Nothing tastes as good as going out and picking a tomato warmed by the sun and eating it right away. Now I really want to do just that but have to wait a couple of months here.

LLOYD  it is already 71 here at 7am and going to be in the 80's later. I did sleep great last night, all of 8 hours.

JANE  having company is great but when they leave your home feels big and empty. That is how I always felt when my daughter and the family came for a visit. Crowded into 3 rooms  extra people but when they left oh how empty and quiet it was.

AMY  lucky here in the area of the town I live in, we have out own water supply, artesian wells. Good cold water.

Looks like yesterday was another one with only a few posts. Remember when it tok a long time to get through a days posts? So many gone home and others just dropped out. Oh well we are still here.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the fathers here.

Have a good day and stay safe.

I'm back, skimmed the posts but will take a slower read later.... ah, "later" is the choice word. Right now it is cool enough I should be running back & forth dragging all the stuff from the RV. Was a life changing week but will explain that later. For sure tomorrow will be a trip to Walmart to have a new tire put on the RV (will make sure they have in stock before going)... probably a new accessory battery (new driving battery last week at $150-$175)... but for sure, a "FOR SALE" sign to put in the rear window as soon as I get a chance to figure what the elephant is worth. So much to tell, will have to wait for the next break in the work.

Jane, sorry to read about your brother, the sorry for you & your sister, we know he is now free of pain and able to smile down and love you both... you'll feel his spirit. They are always with us.

Jenny, the week went absolutely off kilter & I only went in to a town once so no chance to call you. Will explain later. Must get stuff hauled in before the storms hit later this afternoon. RV parked in middle of driveway to unload so must do before I can get the little car out of the garage to go to the store. CO still beautiful but was shocked to say saw only ONE bird the whole week in the campground. Used to spend time watching a zillion magpies, stellar jays, little chipmunks or whatever they are.... NONE, nary a one! Did have a few humming birds come to the feeders, nothing like other years.

All the rest of you friends, be back later to visit. Glad everyone seems to be okay, always fearful after being away a few days, that someone won't be here when I get back. Hugs...  :smitten:

Hahaha, Sandy, had not thought about it being the cats because the birds vanished! Betcha you're right! ;)  I remember all the prep work you did before heading out, I think you can understand how much work to pack in & up for cats & the "family" that was to be out there at the same time. Having to spend one day before leaving, just to take the motorhome back to the place that put the new roof on last fall, was bad enough, but also having to have a new battery installed took most of another day. One of the 2 side door locks is sticking, was replaced in a Walmart parking lot couple years after buying the RV, (not under warranty anymore). Nearly every year the accessory battery has to be replaced, sometimes while still under warranty but as often, MY dime.

My oxygen level stayed in the low 70s so hard to breathe.... weather was nice, not too hot or cold (first time in the 40+ years we've camped out there that it was comfy to sleep in a short "night shirt" instead of sweats & hoodie. It did get colder one night so put on the sweat suit for sleeping. Anyway, had to run the generator several times a day to keep the battery up. So nice to have frig & freezer without electric hook ups, it is propane powered but has lights that use the battery/electricity so a power hog. Running the gen gave me a chance to use the microwave & charge all the techie gear ;)

I do have a 2nd bed in the RV but "the kids" (youngest son & grandson) would rather sleep in a tent than with cats. Grandson & significant other was to arrive on Wed, only drove all night to get to the campground by Tues noon. Wife of #1 son arrived Thurs afternoon because she left home before 4:00am. We cooked in & grilled out, everyone ate good, but some dieting & one son just never did munch, so I practically starved to death! Not really, but I do eat all the time or crash. Weight hasn't changed in the last 35 years but down about 5 lbs... not a problem.

The large rear window has accordian type shade that lost it's string/pull so #1 son fixed it, as well as the double door to the bedroom has a chain lock on the "back" end of the 2nd sliding door & it's screws came out so he fixed that as well. Bless his heart, he really can do anything.

#2 son drove all the way, both ways, for me. Truth is I think he is afraid to ride with me. At one time during his college years he needed the big truck type driving license so he really is good at driving & parking the elephant. He doesn't use cruise control and never speeds (can't believe he is my kid, but Andy is the same! I eat, munch, drink pop & water & have a camera ready to shoot out the window the whole time I drive! Bad me~~

A deer popped out of nowhere on a stretch of western Kansas, just swerved enough to miss without wagging the RV. One of those times (in MY world), I believe my Guardian Angel gave it a little boost to save us a wreck. We had gone past a wrecked car & dead deer less than an hour before so were being extra cautious. Didn't have anything fly off the table or cabinet, good job, huha?

Not even half unloaded but need to shower & get the little car out to fetch groceries & fast food. Was a good trip and now must face limitations for myself. Got to do my research on value of 4-Winds. Will spend time fixing up the house & enjoying the river behind me. May not be the mountains but I can breathe better here!

Off to shower, spit baths are not so satisfying, always good to back to the benefits of home. Thanks for the welcome back, Amy!  :walkwhistle:

Hi Amy !

Thanks for thinking of me.  I am doing as good as I can.  Getting kind of depressed with all the bad news all the time.  I am afraid this "mess" will be with us for quite a while now.  Very tired of it all !

Shirley,  I  am glad you got to go to Colorado and it sounds like you had a good trip.  Except, just wondering, what has made you, all of a sudden, decide to get rid of your RV?   You will have to explain at a later time.  I am sure it was hard on you with the altitude.  I remember, years ago when we traveled there,  the altitude did bother me a little, but not as bad as it affected you.  I guess people that live there just get used to it.  I have a niece and her family that have lived out there for many years.  If you don't get to go anymore, I know that will be a big  disappointment.

Getting time to think about dinner, so I will wish you all a good evening.

H A P P Y  F A T H E R' S  D A Y to all the dads on here or the hubbies of all.  I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful day.

We have been on the phone or FaceTiming off and all all morning.  I tried to do this earlier and then would get interrupted.

We are going to Dave's Home for dinner.  I planned on fixing something but he insisted we order out , so we will pick up Mexican Food from our favorite place on our way to their home.  This is the first time we have eaten together since the beginning of Covid.

Good morning everyone..

A day of playing catch up on jobs that didn't get done today.

Joy, I think we all are getting depressed. Turn tv on and that is all we hear...

Gloria, yes that is what the tomatoes are ones you can pick and pop in your mouth :) I ws just told of a yellow one that is not as acidic so may look for them next year as there is nothing left out there now. Lots of people are putting in a garden and everyone has sold out fast of plants and seeds.

Jenny, I think you will enjoy the company more than the meal. So nice to see our children again and have a visit.

Going to be another hot one so will get work done early

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfrend!  Things are getting back to normal around here....I have sheets in the dryer and more in the washer.  It's time for breakfast.  I had a text yesterday from Christy that she arrived home safely.  Those phones do have some advantages!

Frankie is going to sleep over here tonight so she will be here in the morning when my son and I leave EARLY for the chiropractor/kinesiologist visit.  When she goes to work she'll leave her Cooper dog to doggie sit with Mickie so she's not alone.

Then the rest of the week is a NUTHIN week!  I'll just decide as I go!

Christy and I planted some herbs in a window box yesterday.  They're handy to water and handy to use.  I think I'm going to like this!

Gotta go feed Mickie and have my breakfast, too.  The boinger just went off.  Enjoy your day!  Make it your own in every way!

Good morning,

Jane and Amy are the early birds today.

Amy, I hope you can find the little yellow pear tomatoes for next year.  My dad grew them and they are so good.  My mom made delicious jelly out of them.  I don't remember seeing them for a long time.  Although, I don't plant anything any more, they still might be around.  I would imagine a really big garden center would have them or know what you are talking about.  They look just like a little pear.  And, so sweet.  They are best just picked off the vine and pop into your mouth.  Making myself hungry right now.

Jane, glad you will be having a not-so busy week. Good luck with your chiropractor visit tomorrow.

I have a hair appt. at 12:30 and then my nephew is bringing my sister-in-law for a short visit. We will have to sit outside, and hope it doesn't get too hot.  She is staying with him for a couple days, and he lives just a couple miles from me.  Have not seen her for a long time, so it will be a nice visit.

Have a good day and PLEASE KEEP SAFE !!

Joy

Rise and shine - I have been watching the ravine after seeing "something" dark and the size of a dog - run into the ravine.  The leaves on bushes has been moving - there is no way I am going to walk near the whatever is causing the leaves to move.

Jenny:  We will try to work up the courage to walk into COSTCO.  My list is pretty long.

Gloria:  I haven't had much to say lately - we are fine in this "new normal".  Surely hope that the protests simmer down - they are so destructive to both mind and matter.  Most of all, I do count my blessings for family and friends.

We did have two sons  visit on the deck yesterday.  They brought lunch for Dad's day and one of their big German Shepherds - name of Cochise.  That was the name when they rescued him.  He has turned into a softy and very well behaved.

Jenny: Thanks for your info on shopping time.  I think of you so often and always look for you when we drive by - wishing you two peace.

My father planted the yellow tomatoes for Mother one year (maybe more) because they had less acid. h\He grew plate size Burpee Big Boys & Better Boys so the yellow tomatoes were more like cup size. I don't know if they were supposed to be the little ones or not. Anyway, Mom had stomach trouble and don't think could eat them anyway, and the rest of us didn't think they had the flavor of the red ones. Just my memory. I would love to have a spot to raise them but had no luck at all with growing in huge pots. Good luck growing!

Tried to call to see if MY Walmart auto has the tire needed, same type/size as the 2 put on the front last year. Got to go drain water out to make a little less weight. Lloyd, we learned something we had never thought of before. My son & I thought it would take a huge jack to lift the RV (29 foot, totally loaded or over-loaded). The guy that showed up said he could do it in the parking lot and he did. He had a wood block tapered so no problem driving up the good tire (of the duel rear ones)... and could only have done it if the outside tire....  raised that tire enough to take outside one off & put the spare on! I'm hoping the man in auto dept that has taken care of me the last 5 years will give it a try, if he has doubts about their jack.  Wait line was long so need to try phone again. Reason for getting rid on the motorhome is I am tired of all the time & money it takes to keep everything in good condition. Right now I found that the only Walmart that will put the tire on, cannot get them on order. I can go online, have it delivered to MY HOUSE & take it to the store to have them put on, crazy, huh? If I had not had a spare I would still be sitting out in Dodge City waiting..... ::)

Carol, when I walk down to the river I use one of the long poles (staff) sons find & carve for me to hike with. Gives me that 3rd leg for balance but also feel like a little defense if needed. I have been down when the coyotes & fox show up, they are just hungry animals and know my whistle means food will be there, somewhere. I don't try to go near them but unless I fell, don't think they would attack me. Anyway, I keep those poles by the back garage door & grab one when I go out beyond the fence. The coyote bone structure is narrow enough to slip through the 5" regulation wrought iron fence & the fox just slip through with ease. I'm not trying to attract the animals, just feed the hungry ones already around.  :-\

Got to ask, Carol or Jenny, what are those moths that invaded the campers/RVs this time? All the years we have been in that area (40-50) and never had them before. They would show up as soon as dark & hard to swat or get out. Did NOT notice them the first night Walmart parking lot so figured they had to do with the pine trees or something.

I'm on hold again, at least got the right person that can tell me if they have the tire. Can't go out to drain water until I can get away from the phone. Starting to get hot. We didn't get much rain from the storms that went through yesterday, but also didn't get any damage.

Good mornin', Jenny, Jane, Joy & Amy...only ones besides Lloyd I can see right now.  Jenny, I was wondering if any of the family got to be with your father this Father's Day. Awful what this virus has done to families!!! We are losing so many days & months of our lives that we don't get back........... :tissue:

Just getting in to see how you all are doing.

We had a wonderful time with Dave and Family yesterday.  Even got to hug my son and grands.....but still social distanced with Michele, just to be extra safe.  It was delightful to be together.  They have recently ordered a new 6 passenger golf cart, and are renting one while they wait for theirs.  Matt, our grandson took us for a drive in it and what fun we had.  He is a very good driver and we thought he did a very good job.  We came home SO happy, but walked in the door to the telephone ringing.  It was news that my only brothers wife had just passed away.

Corrine has not been in good health for a good long time but we did not expect her death this soon.  Some of you might remember my niece, their only child together, passing away at the age of 30 to diabetes?  We are all holding on to a good thought that the two of them are together once again.

Our Boston Family I'd driving from Wisconsin to their condo in Vail CO today, so my mind has been on them getting here safely.

SHIRLEY, I am happy that you are home safe from your trip to CO.  Sounds like you had a nice time, but did not get home without some tire problems.  I hope you found the tire and can get it on.  The moth's you had to deal with are Miller Moth's  and they have been thick this year.  They are harmless, but extremely annoying!  No, no one was able to be with my Dad......he was very confused yesterday after hearing about my SIL's death.  He kept asking the same questions regarding where she would be buried over and over and was still asking me this morning.  He owns the grave sites where my niece is buried and where Corrine will be buried, so I think that is what spurred  his concerns....he also kept saying he did not know HOW he could possibly come to her funeral.....I need to get down to see his as soon as possible 😩😢

AMY, Michele has planted some veggies in some waist high planters and they looked fabulous....growing so well.  I showed her a picture of Kyle's trug and she just oohed and awed over it.  I knew she would love them.

CAROL, we always watch for you and Don when we are out on the deck.....we know you would give us a wave and a "honk"!  We continue to see our Raccoons here nearly every night, some fox and occasionally the Bob cats.    We love our cameras as we always have something going on during the night.

More telephone calls, so again, I am going to post this before I loose it.

Have a good evening.

Jenny

Good morning everyone, looks like my post yesterday went into cyber space. Was looking for it but didn't find it. I did post, honest.

JOY  I did comment about the yellow tomatoes butI never liked them. Less acid in them but to me no taste either. Oldest som had the small yellow ones ast year and gave me some but I gave them away.

CAROL  like you I count my blessings that none of my family  members live in a big city these days. There was a demonstra tion in Providence that turned into a riot and so much damage done. Wonder if some of the stores they ruined will ever reopen. I would stay away from that ravine, too. We have some walking trails in this town that have been closed at times after a report of seeing a bear was reported. Something new here but there have been photos taken by some who saw one. Bad enough we are now the home of coyotes.

SHIRLEY  don' t envy you the trouble you got when you bought that RV. Hope yo u get that tire on with no more problems and get it sold fast.

JENNY  my daughter was angry yesterday when I talked with her. Nei ther one of their sons even bothered to email or text  him for Father's day. Unusual for the older one bu the young one never remembers special days except for Christmas when they all get together. I remember y our young niece passing away from the diabetes. I had a nephew whe died because it hit his kidneys bad.

LLOYD  hope you slept good last night.  I did.

AMY  JANE  and everyone who comes in later....

Have a good day and keep safe.

Good morning everyone.
Cloudy sky this morning, now if it would just rain. Took Kyle to pick up more wood for another trug and he did get enough for another trug but the company is having trouble getting another supply of them!  Managed to get some weeding done but oh my it got hot!

Today is do what didn't get done yesterday and hope to get some sewing in. Made more masks yesterday and will do more today...I hope.

Joy, I will look for those tomatoes, I doubt I would find any now though. Everything has been grabbed up including seeds. Seems people are putting in gardens this year. Some for something to do ,others out of fear on not being able to buy vegetables.

Shirley, would a Reialta be better for you? Seems you have had more problems from what you have than enjoyment.

Jenny,so happy to read of the good time you had with your family. Bet Matt was proud as a peacock driving you around. Sorry to read of your sister in law passing away...Michele must be feeling a bit better if she planted a garden,if we were closer she would have a trug! Maybe someone there would build one for her.

Carol, we are going to try Costco tomorrow and hope we can get in.My list is also long as it contains what we want and the neighbour's list also.

Jane, will you be able to bring the herb garden in come winter? Or maybe pot some to use in the winter?

Lloyd, now you will have some young'un;s to keep you busy :)) I think that is a great idea to have your granddaughter and her family move in, help for you and Nancy!

Better get a move on..slow moving is perfect for this kind of weather.

Enjoy your day and stay safe everyone.

THe day has gotten away from me pretty quickly today.

Had an early doctor's appt. and it was to early to go to lunch. So, my DIL and I stopped at the Olive Garden and got something that we could eat for lunch and also have leftovers for dinner.  She also got something for my son, so we both were all fixed for the day.  I got stuffed shells and a salad.  Had half of the salad and one of the stuffed shells for lunch.  Just finished dinner and still have one of the stuffed shells left.  Something different for a change and tadted good.

Gloria, I remember those little yellow pear tomatoes to be very sweet and tasty,.  My mother made delicious jam out of them.  At a local Farmers Market some years ago, I did see some of the jam.  My DIL likes the red tomato jam. I think they use on meat sometimes.

Last night we had some really hard thunder storms and the power was off for a couple hours.  I had just about decided to go to bed, when it came back on.  So, I did stay up and watch the 11 o'clock news.

I read for a while and of course, had a nap.  They have mentioned that there may be some scattered storms this evening, but it didn't look like they would be in my area.  Supposed to be a little cooler temperatures until the end of the week.  Even tho it has been hot, there has been a nice breeze.

Have a nice rest of the evening.

Hi, Amy.... you asked about a Rialta being better for me. I did love ours but with having to take the cats, found it just wasn't big enough. Now that they are 5-6 years older, they are not as afraid of going into a cage so would be possible to still take them but would have to put into a cage every time I open a door. A real pain in the neck, but what life is at this time. Yes, a dog would be much easier but not what I have.  :-\

I am seriously thinking about having a van converted MY Way, with no center seats but a queen size, push button to up or down, bed in the back. We had one that the bed was manual & one that was electric, so know what would be best for my strength. Have not talked to the dealer that sold/converted the first one back in '84, but understand they still have contact with a company that does the conversions and are dealers for several type vehicles. It's the "next-next" generation of family from when we bought.  ::) I'm a Ford person but will look at the Dodge Ram.

I know what I paid for this RV so I'm hoping to get near half back and would prefer to trade rather than me have to sell myself. All still in thinking mode. I am shocked at the STUFF accumulated in 5-6 years, could fill another HOUSE! Sons suggest letting everything (like plumbing, mat for outside under awning, etc.) that either I bought extra or were gifts from the kids, go with it so I will decide later. A garage sale might bring back a few bucks. I have enjoyed it, especially having a frig & freezer/ice at all times. Plus having my own bath & shower. My thoughts are I am done with longer trips & do only overnight stays to go back to MO for family reunions. I really do hate motels and althought offered, will not stay with family... One absolute thing is that is must be able to go into a normal garage, no more hail & sun to damage. Both of the vans (Fords) came into the garage with only adjustment to garage door opener. Anyway, getting older but not ready to be totally grounded. Sad part is I will trade having 29' with all conveniences for half the size & NO kitchen or bath. Sounds crazy, huh?

Gloria, I agree with knowing what trouble this RV could be but was the year after Cas died and I felt trapped with the cats. They really were his babies and I never had to take them. We tried the one time and old LaurenKat got out and after that it was his excuse to not have to travel, he stayed home with the cats or went to visit his mother by himself & left me home to cat sit. He hated to travel so made the choice. I decided I wasn't ready to become a hermit. Lucky for me my 2 art shows a year earned me enough to pay for those trips plus all camera & art equipment, etc..

I do appreciate all y'all's thoughts (that's a Missouri word/expression)...& advice/suggestions. I feel lucky to still be able to travel and know it may end abruptly since I am 85, congestive heart failure and a little crazy (that last not a diagnosis but kids lovingly think so). More than you cared to read but I'm the blabber mouth of the group so give me a break. :D

Oops, Joy, you popped in. Now that you mention, I do recall those yellow tomatoes were sweeter than the little red ones. Your Olive Garden meal sounds good. Guess they are open for sit down?

We may get more rain today....I hope! We are off to the city with a long list  to pick up items for us and our neighbour at Costco....lets hope we can get in without standing hours in line.

Shirley, I do understand what you're looking for and it would be easier on you. Ask about the bath/shower you nevr know just what they have come up with now.

Joy, I am going to look for recipes now for that tomato jam...thank you for steering me that way.

Better get a move on here...

Good morning everyone, another early one for me.  My CNA will be busy, laundry and she wants to make a shepherds pie today. She got every thing for it at the market yesterday. I had not made that since I have been here and that is now  6 years. Still wish I was  in my apartment in my son's house. Best thing here is I can get outside thanks to the elevator. No more soializing here anymore. 69 here already. Going to be humid again.

AMY  a few days ago they had rain in the forecast for today. Now they are saying a chance on Friday. We sure could use rain here, too.

LLOYD  if thigs work the way we want them too that Bob will lose big time in court and you can keep your  place in peace. Young people living there will make thing better for you and Nancy.

AMY  glad you finally got some rain. Now share it here. Of course the sothwest could use a lot of it.

JOY  Never heard of tomato jam but would like to try some of it. I have a one track taste and only like the red tomatoes.

SHIRLEY  I would never call you a blabber mouth. You live a busy life and I am jealous. Seems la tely all I want  to do is sleep. No energy left. Of course if I would eat better it  might help-no appetite anymore. I used to be so active but that has gone from me.

AMY  hope you ge t all you need a Costco.

JANE  come out  come out wherever you are. Not like you to be missing like this.

PHYLLIS  hope you soon feel like posting even for just a hello to let us know you are OK.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We left at 7:15 yesterday for our appointment with the chiropractor/kinesiologist and we weren't back until almost noon.  I was really tired and was going to get some lunch, give Mickie a snack and a short walk and then take a nap.

I had just finished my lunch when Frankie walked in the door.  She had an interview for a new job and than thought she had to work right after that.  She was mistaken so she came over to get her doggie and visit a while.  She gave him a bath (she only has a shower at her apartment) and then visited for a while and I took them home and kept my car because Mickie had an early evening VET appt.

I fed her early and took her for a walk and then to the vet and when we got home it was 7 p.m.  I had my supper and then I fell asleep off and on for most of the evening in front of the TV.  Finally decided I might as well do that in bed.

AND THAT WAS MY DAY YESTERDAY! And that's why I never showed up in here!  But I'm here now and I bet I just told you a lot more than you wanted to hear!  Mickie and I are waiting for the boinger now and we have a lot to get done today, too.

JENNY, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your SIL!  But she's not in any pain now and I'm sure she's in a better place.

SHIRLEY, you sure have lots going on.  I hope you find a buyer for your "elephant" soon and that you can find a "baby elephant" to suit your purposes.

Always good to hear from JOY, LLOYD, AMY (good you got rain) CAROL, GLORIA and anyone else that I missed.

It's time for the boinger so I better "wish you all a good day" and be on my way!

I think think that you will be happy
with a converted van.  Just make sure that
it is tall enough for you to stand up in.

Cats can stay a few days with out having
a human  body  there for them .  Just
make sure that you leave plenty of food and
water for them.   A bed and a porta potty
should  make you feel right
at home for short trips ....
couple nights stay...

I felt very safe I had more
head room.  And try not to let
the season for selling get by
with out finding a buyer.

Enjoy

A good Wednesday Morning HELLO to EVERYFRIEND🦋🦋

Feeling a bit nostalgic the past couple of days after my SIL'S passing.  Without a doubt she is in a better place....no more worries, no more pain 🌹🌷🥀

SHIRLEY, I do wish you could find a buyer for your motor home so you could get as much as possible out of it.  You have already taken such a hefty hit on it.  We, actually I, continue to look at smaller units that still have all the bells and whistles on them, and it looks like something I would like to do, but Bob is pretty much apposed to doing anything in that line now, so think I will just quite wasting my time.  I do hope you can get something going on a van that will work out well for you.  We would have to have anything we might buy stored somewhere and it is not easy to find places that are not clear across town.  I still have to say it again, I would loved to have had your Rialta.

GLORIA, how nice that you will have a nice Sheppards Pie for your meal today.  It really saddened me to read that your grandsons did not bother to call their dad on Father's Day.  Shame on them😩😢

Yesterday we decided to go to Pappadeauxs for our meal.  I have been so hungry for shrimp.  We sat on the patio on an area that is built out over the sidewalk.  No one within 12 feet of us.  It was delightful and we felt very safe.

I wish you all a good rest of your day.

Jenny

Good morning everyone, 65 already and will climb after the sun wakes up. Oh I am happy with this AC, keeps me comfortable in here and in the evening I turn a fan on pointing into the bedroom and it is nice and cool in there when I get into bed. No more sleeping on the couch at night. Got the sheperds pie made yesterday and is so good. Yvette is a good cook. I have some in the Freezer, too. I like making thing that freeze good so I have something to take out and put in the microwave.

Got some rain yesterday along with some thunder. rained hard enough to get my windows all wet but don't think it lasted 10 minutes.

JANE  you sure had a busy day yesterday. No wonder I missed you. I hope today is more restful for you.

LLOYD  my daughter has been into the uper 90's or just over 100 this week. She said it isn't  too bad with no humidity and always a breeze. Nights cool off so sleeping OK. Heat does not bother my SIL, he lived in San Die go all his life till they moved to Arizona 3 years ago.

PHYLLIS wonderful seeing you this morning. Hope to see you here more often if only to say hello. We do worry when someone is missing.

JENNY  my daughter was disgusted with both sons not getting in touch with their father. The youger one it is not surprising but the older one usually remembers all the special days. My SIL never says much about it but bet it bothers him.

AMY  did you sleep late today?

Hope all the missing ones show up today.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's in the mid 50s right now and only heading for 80 today. Not too bad!  Yesterday was beautiful!  It only got up to 80 and there wasn't a lot of sun and a nice cool breeze all day.

I did a lot of catching up yesterday...some jobs that didn't get done the day before and some missed sleeping.  I feel all caught up on the sleeping.

I'll be taking off for the berry patch soon because the red and black raspberries are both coming in and I need to get some.  I love being out in the fields. It so calm and peaceful.

And now it almost time for the boinger and breakfast.  The I'll have to hurry and get dressed to take Mickie for a walk.  So I'll wish you all a lovely day!  Make it your own in every way!

And don't forget to share it with your friends here!

Good morning everyone..

What a difference  in the weather, temp is 54° F at the moment. Great weather for working in. We had light  rain yesterday  not a lot but any amount is appreciated.
We had a  fantastic day yesterday.....we did get into Costco.....left here at 6.00 am stopped at Walmart to pick up boots for our neighbour  and we were at Costco 7.45 am and they were just letting people in! We didn't have to wait in line just grab a buggy and go! We packed the van with not only our items but some for the neighbour also. On the way home I nipped into the dollar store and picked up 20 boxes of canning lids.now I am good to go in that department.  Came home and the mail lady drove in and she had our tea from New Brunswick.  The phone rang and it was the lady that does my hair and the shop is opening  June 30th and she gave me a July 7th appointment to get my hair done....last cut was Nov 2019. Tis time!!

Today, is doing jobs that didn't get done yesterday. I do have the fixings for 6 week muffins so may mix that up .

Gloria,  shepherds pie is comfort food to me, always tasty. Everything in one dish and clean up is so easy. We are having cool weather, too bad all the wood is piled as this would be great weather to do it in.

Jenny, that would be so special to be able to have a sit down meal out. Restaurants here are slowly  opening. You can always get take out but now some have patios and you can enjoy a meal out.

Phyllis, great to see you..hope each day is better for you.

Jane, goodness you were on the go. Hope you could relax after taking Mickie to the vet.

Better get

Enjoy your day everyone ...stay safe.

Gloria we have you beat we a we are already at 68º and saying we are going to upper eighty's or low 90"s. In my younger days I worked over a coal fired forge and anvil Hammering plow shears sharp. thought nothing about that. and later in life i bought a bulldozer and worked daylight to dark, then two wet years too wet to get in much dosser work so put my lowboy truck to work hauling over the road. and in those days was not watched like the truck drivers are now, so we drove for days without sleep. Nancy fusses at me for spending so much time on the couch, i tell here I paid my dues back then and we have plenty $$$ for our  food and other needs. Have a great day.

BOY!!! Everyone must have been heat-beat today!  No one's been in here since 7 a.m. this morning!  It was a beautiful day here today.  The sun was shining and the temp got up to 81 but it didn't feel hot out.  Mickie and I went for a walk after lunch at about 1:30 or so and there was a nice breeze and it certainly didn't feel hot out!  Some guys were putting new siding on a house down the street and they weren't even sweating!  I could take a whole summer like today!

Had a long talk with my sister tonight and she's still hurting but starting to cope.  She's tough so she'll work it out!  She just feels so alone right now and that hurts!

I'm of to Dreamland in a few minutes!  I wish Everyfriend a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good evening.

JANE, I have not been able to get in here all day long.  Maybe the reason for so few posts. I have thought about your sister a lot knowing she is having to adjust to this new life without her mate😩. Now I worry about my brother as he is going through the same thing.  Right now he has a lot going on but as soon as all the arrangements are made and the funeral is done, it will hit him like a ton of bricks.

AMY, I can honestly tell you our getting to eat out the other day made such a positive boost in my spirits....it was wonderful.  One of the few sort of normal things we have done in a long time😘. Happy to read that your Costco run went well.  Seems your whole day was a positive.  Our beauty shops are open but I am still apprehensive of being in that close contact with someone.....but I will need to do it soon as my hair is becoming pretty much non manageable.

I keep getting one call right after the other, so I best get this posted.

Have a good rest of your evening.

Jenny

The site was down from at least noon CST this morning, and just now came back up. I had emailed some folk to report, and they in turn, reported it to the correct people.
Jane, tell me about your visit to the doctor and Kinesiologist.  You can PM me.

Good morning everyone..

Yay , we are back up and running. Thank you for fixing the problem !!

Meeting friends this morning to exchange goodies then home to work. Still have weeds to deal with  that didn't get done yesterday. Need to bake bread today also.

Love this cooler weather but we know it is not going to last. Fry time will be back on the weekend.

Jenny ,just read that a nail salon opened to the east of us and 3 people (workers) tested positive. Where I go to get my hair cut is only allowing 3 people in..and in between each person  they wipe everything down.

Enjoy your day everyone ....stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't realize that we were down yesterday.  I guess that's the reason for so few posts.  You're all forgiven for not showing up!

I got up this morning to 61º and just a tad chilly!  We're headed for 84 with 88% humidity!  I think it might feel like summer today!

I have one thing on tap for this morning.  Frankie is picking me up and taking me to the Farmstand before she goes to work at noon.  It's right across the street from the the drive-in restaurant where we usually celebrate my birthday but didn't this year.  If we have time, I might just grab a fish sandwich and French fries for lunch!  I have a craving!

JENNY, I hope your Brother has a chance to recover and get on with his life.  It's not easy when they've been together so long.

AMY, how does your garden grow?  Do you have any pumpkin blossoms?  My tomato plants already have blossoms on them!

Tomereader, I'm going back and send you a PM

I hope you all have a lovely day!
Make it your own in every way!

And don't forget to share it

Good morning everyone, 68 already going to be another too warm day here but with lower humidity. I can take that. Yvette tried to get me outside yesterday but with all that bright sun and black pavement I asked her  if she was  eady to call 911. I cannot take the bright  and hot sun, I get dizzy  in it. The older I get the worse it seems. Maybe I should send for one of those hats they avertise on TV that keep your head 20 degrees cooler.

JANE  for more than a week after I get off here I have been laying on the couch and having almost a 4 hour nap. Yesterday I didn't and felt good all day but fell asleep when my head hit the pillow last night. When you are in the field picking those berries have a few for me. Yummy, going to make some seedless jam? Love it but the ones with seeds get into my teeth and it take s most of the day to get them out. Between the brush and the floss it gets to me.

AMY  glad you got all your errands done and got to Costco before the crowd. Yesterday I asked Yvette if she wanted to try the shepherds pie she mad  and she said yes. I gave her a casserple and to her to take what she wanted and she put it in the microwave. Said it was very good. Heck she did most of the work for it.  I have 4 somall casse roles in the freezer  for a quick meal in the future. I sure cannot eat all that is in the fridge.

LLOYD  my oldest son was a welder before he retired, must have been awfully hot job in the summer  months. He could always take the heat better than me.

JENNY and AMY  I am glad my DIL comes here to cut my hair. She does better than some of the hair  dressers I had over the years. A few here asked me if she would do their hair but I tell them she only does it for family. My son and their sons have not been to a barber.

JANE  with humidity as high as you said you wil have today I would not go out of the house.

Have a good day and stay safe.

I was another frustrated yesterday with trying to get in & being turned away. Checked  e-mail but nobody sent to say they couldn't get in so I kept busy. Every time that happens I'm afraid we will lose each other forever.

Feels scalding hot already this morning. Son hasn't brought his camper back to put in my spare garage. He also had tire trouble on the way back from CO so extra work to get the camper back in running shape. Looks like the people across the street are doing the garage sale again today, they closed early yesterday afternoon, was SO HOT to be sitting outside.

Cats fed so my turn now. Need to get more stuff out of the RV, I do believe all that stuff grows while in there.  ::)

Jane & Jenny, sincere sympathy for what your family members are going through with new losses. My sister-in-law called last night, widow of the brother that died earlier this spring. We were friends long before she married my brother so always plenty to talk about. She had a frustrating day going to the grocery store. Some people do go out of their way to be hateful during these stressful times and especially hurtful to people that are timid.

Wishing all of you a happy day, 'tis near the end of June, much too hot & dry but nothing is "NORMAL" this year. Hugs to all. Gloria, I'd love to know how you made your shepherd's pie.... that was not something my mother made & sounds like I'd love it. I love to eat....  :-[

I was relieved to be able to get in here today.  Nice to see you all again.

Like the rest of you...hot and humid here today but no rain.

Not too much to say.  I haven't been any where, don't plan to go any where either so nothing to talk about.  David picked up the groceries yesterday so we are well stocked once again.  I got most of what I ordered, or a  reasonable substitution, so I was happy.

Take care, All.

Just stopping by to say "Hi" !

Yes, I tried several times yesterday and then did decide that the site was down.

Nothing much new in my neck of the woods.  Pretty sunny day now.  Scattered showers could appear anytime in our area.

I did hear that a very good friend of mine fell and broke her femur bone.  She is almost 95 and did not use a walker.  So, I am not surprised that she fell.  I had been expecting it for a long time, but she said her doctor didn't think she needed one.  Crazy !!!  She was being transferred to a hospital down closer to the city.  They do have a great orthopedic program there, so, hopefully, she will get along good.  Nobody could go with her in the ambulance to the hospital because of the virus thing. And, I doubt if she will be able to have any visitors.  Feel really bad for her.

I was up early to get the trash out, and fell back to sleep and slept until almost 11.  So, I had breakfast and lunch together.  It will make for a short day.

Gloria, if I can get to one of the farmer's market's, I will look for the tomato jam and will send you a jar.  Just don't hold your breath waiting. LOL.  But, I will keep it in mind if and when I get to one of the markets.

Jenny, your outside dinner sounds wonderful.  There are several places near me that have outside dinning, and I am really anxious to go.  I so miss being able to go out to eat.  And, I di like to sit outside and eat.  I have been thinking about asking my son and DIL if we can go soon.

I want to read for a little bit, and then get a shower and get dressed.  Hopefully, I will still have time to go down and sit outside for a little while before supper.

Hi to all the other friends   Have a good afternoon.

Joy

Jane ,garden is doing great!! Beans are starting to flower out and you should see the growth on the pumpkins!!  I did get some weeding done today after laundry and bread making but need to do more in the cooler evening or early morning. Took a loaf of bread over to Floyd and  his wife gave me some powder to make dill pickles!! I am not a fan of dills but Kyle sure is so I hope to make  some this summer.
We are waiting on a fellow to come and pick up another trug for a lady. She really likes these and may want 2 more later!!

Great to see the posts after yesterdays famine :)

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one.

And may the gardens keep growing and the trugs keep moving out!

This was a fun day......Mark and Jonah came to visit while mommy was out with a friend.  We had lunch and Jonah had a nice nap while Bob,  Mark and I had a wonderful time chatting.  Just as they were leaving a terrible storm hit but luckily we were on the edge of the worse of it, so were spared the heavy wind, rain and hail.

AMY, they did have terrible hail at Michele's home today and I am sure hoping her garden did not get too much damage.

JOY, I do hope you will be able to get out with your family soon to enjoy a nice meal. Sadly, I think we all better do what we can soon, as I am afraid we are headed back to another quarantine due to so many throwing caution to the wind and the numbers are on the rise. I hope not.....but??

SHIRLEY, I am sorry that your sil had a stressful experience at the grocery store.  Now that traffic has picked up we have noticed there seems to be a lot of aggressive drivers out there.  These are some pretty sad and stressful times we are dealing with now.

GLORIA, I am glad your DIL is there for you with getting your hair cuts also.  That is wonderful.

I wish you all a good night of rest and a good Saturday for you all.

Jenny

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cathy reminded me yesterday that our local Farmers Market is now open on Saturday Mornings.  They used to be open only on Wednesdays.  I was thinking of going over to see what they have since my car is in the driveway and Frankie is in my spare bed.  But it's raining now and the prediction is for rain all day.  I guess I'll see what goes.

JENNY, how nice to have a visit with Jonah and his daddy!  \

Our boinger just went off and I have two doggies to feed this morning.  Since whenever Frankie is here, Cooper is here, too and he lines up with Mickie right behind me in the kitchen as soon as I take the dog food out of the fridge.  So....

I wish you all a pleasant day!
Make it your own in every way!

Good morning everyone..

Over cast here this morning ,sure hope there is some rain I those clouds.

Laundry  day today after I take Kyle into town. I also want to get something??? that would keep the beets from blocking out the sun on the carrots........maybe a roll of edging if it is tall enough.?? Will have to look and see what is available.

Would like to get some sewing in also..

Jenny, I also think this is going to come around again so we have been stalking up on different items. A friend came out of the grocery store yesterday and said where are all the cake mixes?? I bet your heart smiled with having Mark and Jonah there.

Jane, the market is opened up north of here but only allowed to sell baked goods and I think vegetables too. My friend can't take her quilts :(  The trug was picked up with orders for Spring..a total of 3 more for the two of them.

Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe..

Good morning everyone, 68 already, sun is shining but rain is in the forecast for most of the day with thunderstorms at any time. Seems like that is the forecast for the next few days. We need ran but keep the Tstorms away.

SHIRLEY  since I never seem to get back after posting in the morning I did not know the site was down. I think we all dread S&F closing us out like SN did to us. That was dirty. Shepherds pie is easy to make.  Hamburg. mashed potatoes and cans of cream corn. Brown hamburg  mash poatoes. put meat in of flat oven caserole, put mashed potatoes over meat, top with cream corn and bake. Season meat  as it browns with anything you want. Easy and tasty. Freezes good, too. Not really a pie.

PHYLLIS  like you I don't go anyplace and in this hot humid weather I do not go outside and walk around in the sun. No shade to be had in the paved area here.

JOY  we have a farmer's market close to here but I have never gone to it. The few who have said the prices were too high. Been almost a year since I have been in a restaurant. Thank you, I appreciate the thought but I really don't eat jam anymore.

AMY  looks like Keith is going into business of making Trugs. Bet he could keep busy making and selling them.

JANE  know what you mean about being worn out at the end of the day. I cannot do much of anuything but boy I cannot wait to get into bed at night and head to dreamland.

LLOYD  hope you slept great last night.

JENNY  I know you are so happy to see  Jonah more often now. I have not seen my little great grand since Christmas. My grandson calls and I do get to talk to him but not like the hugs he gives me or his sparkling eyes. Growing up in a family of girls and one brother the girls learned to cut each other's hair.

JANE  we are in for rain later this morning and for the rest of the day. I do no thing interesting but manage to gab most days.

AMY  like you I think this virus is gong to get much worse because so many are not taking precautions.  Yvette is telling me to keep getting things I use often because when it come back the store shelves will be empty again. Wish I had room in here to store things.

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up but I'm not sure I'm "attem" yet!  I'll just go along and see what happens.  There are lots of things asking for attention around here and I guess I'll see what yells the loudest.

I got up to 65º but it's supposed to hit 88 today.  That's HOT!!  We were supposed to have heavy rain and thunder and lightning yesterday but what we got was three different lovely showers lasting about 20 minutes each....just enough to soak the ground nicely.

When Christy came up last weekend, she brought some stuff out of her garden and one of the items was a kind of medium head of cabbage.  I thought I could use it up but, you know, cabbage goes a looooong way.  I cleaned it and cut it up and put some in the food processor for cole slaw.  I got a BIG bowl of that and there was still half the cabbage left.  I ran across and old recipe for fried cabbage with bacon so I tried it.  It was great and I managed to eat the whole batch of it.  Frankie turned up her nose at it.  Yesterday, I made another batch with twice as much bacon in it and I added shredded carrots too.  It's delicious!  And it goes with anything for supper!

I wish you all a lovely day!
Make it your own in every way!

And don't forget to share it with your friends in here!

Good morning everyone, Geez only 3 posts since I was here yesterday. 2 fron LOYD and 1 from Sandy who really did not say anything. Was the site down again? This is starting to scare me. Right now this is the only place that we can socialize. 52 other tenants in this building and I don't see anyone anymore. No seating in the lobby or on the porches, library is locked so cannot even get a book to pass the time. Cars in the parking lot don't seem to move either.

My exciting day yesterday  was second son came to visit for  a short time and brought me a fresh dozen eggs from the farm. Had a nap and talked with my daughter on Skype. Made puzzles on the PC and played some games on it too. Could not find anything good on the TV either. What a long boring day it was. I expect today will be a copy of yester day with no visit from sons.

Come on Ladies and Gentlemen and let us know how you ar e spending your days of Covid-19

JANE  you sneaked in on me, So glad some one else was here. Oh we did ge t several hours of good rain late afternoon yesterday. From looking at the forecast looks like most of the week we will have rain and possible Tstorms.

Have a good dy and stay safe.

God morning everyone..
Overcast this morning. I did manage to get the laundry dry on the line in between rain drops.  Nice rain ,saved me from watering the garden and flower pots..

A day of rest .may get some sewing in..

Jane, we love fried cabbage. shred along with onions, celery, carrots , can even put peppers in if you like. The cabbage does last a long time.

Gloria, Kyle spent the last two days making and installing a new gate. The old one was a one piece and long this one is in two pieces but now he needs a type of bolt that we can't get here.

I had better get a move on..
Enjoy your day everyone...stay safe.

Just saying Hi !

It has been kind of quiet here and also over on Norm's page, also.  Guess everyone just is still hanging in there and not doing anything special.

Gloria, I am sorry you don't eat the jam anymore, as I surely would have loved sharing some with you. That is, if I ever can find it.  I am sorry you don't have that much company.  I don't either.  People can still come into our building if they are a helper or bringing in groceries or something like that. They just don't want a lot of visitors in and out a lot.

I slept a little later today, so that will make the whole day go faster.  But, it is sunny and pretty out.

Jane, I will have to try making some fried cabbage, as I do get a head and usually make cole slaw, and don't know what else to do with what is left.

Have a good rest of the afternoon.

Joy

Checking in - I read all the notes and always am so thankful to have this little corner of cyber friends.

We fee fortunate to be able to get supplies and groceries.  We use the Pick Up feature and so far it seems to keep us afloat for a week or two at a time.  Monday, I am looking forward to meeting social apart at neighbor's back porch.  This is so exciting.  One of the friends has a husband on Hospice support - we really hope she can have a little time to rest with us.

Jenny:  I always look up to see if you are there.  So sorry about your family loss.  You are staying strong!  Hello to Bob! I think about your dad as well.

Gloria:  Thinking about you - I hope the wicked women is "found out" soon - she should lose her job.

Shirley:  You made the right decision.  It is hard to think about - we sold the Hi Lo camper after the truck lost power and the camper was pushing us toward the mountain ravine.  We were ready to jump out - that close of an experience and we had nightmares after the episode.

It took some time but I was able to change the password to my hospital care.  I have a list of 40 passwords.  This is just insane - you make one little click mistake and evil computer swoops down and the dreadful words are:  change your password.  Would I ever like to tackle the nerds who sit and think of the worst scenario.  A pox on them!
 :crazy2:
Okay, I am back to menial house work - that is always simple and nothing interferes.

Well, pool is open & surprisingly good shape after a long winter. This must be a record for late opening!!  Son; & gr-son did the job & I paid them a bonus because I was so relieved it looked so good without dumping a ton of chemicals in. It will take several days of running to filter the water to sparkling, but in 30+ years, she never started out this easy in the spring!  It's like getting all the weeds pulled out of flower beds & garden at the same time, just so satisfying!  The air is very dusty, not sure if the mess coming from "across the pond" or just what the wind is picking up from a very dry Kansas! If you could see the trees blowing & twisting you'd wonder how they manage to stay in the ground. Can't tell which way it is blowing, they are twisting & bending every direction.

Now that is done (and I did my share), I've had a shower & washed my hair & thinking KFC sounds pretty good. The cats enjoy it as well, they are getting more spoiled every day, won't eat the rotisserie chicken from Sam's anymore.
Mid afternoon so guess this will be "lupper" as my neighbor used to call it.

Callie, I have not watched the church service on TV today. I am upset that ours has not figured a way to let us take turns & be safe... my daughter's church in St.Louis sends out e-mail to have parishioners sign up & allows only so many. Great idea they worked out.

I'd better move or will fall asleep. Need to eat first so off to KFC! Did I mention it is HOT??? Not sure if cloudy or just dust hiding the sun. Radar isn't showing any rain. St.Anthony has not come up with my pack of gift cards so far.  :tissue: Wow, it is looking like dust storms we had out in western Kansas.... all of a sudden.

Carol, my son still has their big Hi Lo.... but the 3/4 ton van they pull it with is shot. His wife doesn't want to give it up but crazy to keep to use maybe twice a year... and have to buy a new truck to pull it. Their 3 garages are full with cars & HiLo.... van sits in the driveway & little Flagstaff camper he uses all the time, in my extra garage. Even with queen size heated bed, all necessary kitchen equipment, plus stero/etc, he can pull it with his RAV with no problem. But it doesn't have a bathroom/shower. He rigged one up for her this year, because he had the little one out there & she came to join us. He said she was impressed with the shower & all, that he put in a pop out hunter's blind.

This isn't getting my KFC.... so sleepy.....  Super Sunday, where ever you are!

I'm here even if I'm really late.  So slow to get started today.

Didn't feel too good when I got up but doing better now and I'm actually planning to fix a simple hot weather dinner when David gets home from his walk.  Fried Chicken (from the grocery), little buttered potatoes, mixed Mediterranean vegetables, brownies for dessert.  I think that will fill us up on another hot summer day.

Take care, All.

Amy, I wish you lived close; I really need Kyle to rebuild my side gate. It is double sided, so we can pull vehicles in back, but the wood and fixtures are just "shot" after, I don't know how many years.  I need a complete new fence, but I can't afford that right now, and for security reasons, I have to get the gate re-done.  Oh, well.  I just keep on dreaming.  I might like to win the lottery; just a small one even.  LOL ;)

My thift shop has just opened down
stairs but they do not take cash.
Only checks of credit cards..
I gave my card to Kelly because
she always picks up my

the department store just down the
street has also opened and they
do take cash.    Hooray !

Everyone have a good day ..

Well, another boring day is finished!  I told myself I had not done anything at all today and then I started thinking about it.

-I read the paper, drank my first cup of coffe
-I took Mickie out and then gave her the pill.
-We waited for the boinger and then had breakfast
-I delivered a "thank you" note to the gal who removed my two huge bags
  of weeds
-I took Mickie for two more walks
-I went to MY church on YouTube
-I watched my Grandson-in-Law deliver the sermon at his church in
also on YouTube.  Their minister has the Corona Virus
-I moved some more stuff out of the back room

I guess I deserve to be a little tired tonight.  And Frankie came over late afternoon and is spending the night.

Now I'm off to bed to see if there are any zzzzs hanging around in there.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

A Good Sunday evening HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

It is late but I did want to say HELLO and see how everyone's day was?

We have decided to go to the mountains and stay a couple of nights in our sons place so that we can see our out of state family.  We will social distance from one another and no hugs will likely happen as they want to make sure we are all safe🙏 It will feel good, but maybe a bit strange to head off into the beautiful mountains.

Many are talking about wanting to watch HAMILTON next month on Disney Plus.  I have been told that you can sign up for one month of Disney Plus for $4.99 a month and then cancel at the end of the time.  I know it will be wonderful and I sure hope to see it.

SHIRLEY, how nice to have your pool up and running.  Glad it seems to be doing well.  Our community pool had a bad leak and they are having a lot of problems fixing it.

CAROL, we do look for you to go by as well....maybe one day we will get lucky.

JOY, it has been very quiet in the folders recently.  I hope everyone will keep posting......I sure would be sad if this communication were to be taken away from us 😩😩

JANE, how nice Christy brought you some nice veggies...everything you made with the cabbage sounded so good.

AMY, I have not fixed fried cabbage for a long time.  I bet there are a lot of good things I could fix if you do not mind me dropping in and picking some veggies from you nice trug?

PHYLLIS, your meal you were planning to fix sure sounded yummy.  I hope you enjoyed every bite of it....David, too.

I must head off to bed.  Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's feels good right now!  The temp is only 64º right now but it's heading for the mid 80s later today.  If there's a breeze like yesterday, that's not so bad but if it's humid and still 87 can be choking.

I don't have much on the agenda for today except a couple of phone calls that HAVE to be made this morning.  And depending on Frankie's schedule, I might borrow back my car for a quick trip to the country market. And I also have to make up a batch of dog food!  Maybe I should run the Swiffer around a bit, too.

What I'm really missing is a long, leisurely trip to the grocery store but my daughter insists that would not be a good thing for me to be doing.

JENNY, enjoy your trip to the mountains and your visit with family.  It sounds delightful!

JOY, I actually made tomato jam one summer and it was pretty good!  If all my tomato plants produce this summer, I might make some more.  I kind of forgot about it until you mentioned it!

SHIRLEY, I'll be right over to jump in the pool!

I wish you all a lovely day!
Make it your own in every way!

And don't forget to share it with you interested friends!

Good morning everyone..

Going to be a muggy day..

We are off to the city to pick up parts for Kyle's gate. We will take the dogs with us as we won't be there long and will have the a/c on.

Yesterday was a lazy day for me, no sewing done either. Janies left some zzz's here and I found them!!! Ohh almost for  got.......highlight of the day was seeing a bunny!! Not many around anymore and this one was still using his feet!!

Tome, Kyle would do that for you . He is just making another trug now a 4 foot across instead of 4 and it is 8 feet long.

Jane, I find the day disappears on me so fast .Doesn't matter if I am busy or not...it just goes poof!! Not too many days that one isn't busy somehow though.

Jenny, the veggies would be fresh! I love fried cabbage, cabbage soup, cole slaw and cabbage rolls! Heading for the mountains sounds like a cool plan. My friend in  Tucson AZ takes off for the mountains for the summer then back down  for the winter.

Sandy, I wonder will we get back to the way we were?  The city we are going to has had no cases now for more than a week. I think I will feel safe if more than two weeks!

Shirley, there is no place like home no matter how much work there is to do.

Gloria, my friend has been getting us brown eggs and the shells seem to be stronger on them as opposed to the white eggs.

Lloyd , good morning to you and Nancy.

Joy and Phyllis, good to see you. Hope each day gets better for both of you.

Better get a move on here.

Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning everyone. Thought I would not get here today. We really had a doozy of a thunderstorm. Did not lose power  but Cox went out. No TV PC or phone. OK I went to bed early, not much else to do.  TV and phone working. Getting the PC on was a different story this morning. Kept getting a screen from Microsoft wanting my password. Don't know if I ever had one. Try ing to put a new one in and they refused everyone. I finally shut the PC off and it is much to early to call my grandson. Would not want to wake them at 5am. Bad enough when I ask his help. 2 hours later I tried turning it on again and here I am. Don't know what that was all about with microsoft.

AMY  looks like Kyle likes working with wood. My 2nd son has a feeling for wood. He made his waterbed and I wish you could see the designs he made in the headboard. He is good with his hands. Maybe now he is finally retired he can get back to doing some wood things. I like fried cabbage with the wide noodles the way a sister made it. Only thing in this building every time someone cooks cabbage you can smell it on all 3 floors.

JOY  same here with visitors. Witch has signs up all over to limit visitors. There is a book on a table in the lobby that everyone who comes in has to sign, where going and why and time leaving.

CAROL  we would all love to see the witch get fired but she is good with book work and saves the company money. She gets a big bonus at the end of the year. I was ready to start pulling my hairout this morning with passwords.

SHIRLEY  the wind with the storm yesterday had the trees almost bending in half. I think there might have been some small hail mixed in at times. I thought a window would break it hit so hard and hitting the AC. I saw where that dust storm from Africa will be hitting some southern states.

PHYLLIS  in this hot weather I am satisfied with a sandwich.

SANDY  you are not the only one bored. Add me to the list. Never was bored before this.

JANE  I don't think you ever have a day of doing nothing.

LLOYD  I slept good last night.

JENNY  I wonder if my CNA can fry cabbage. Would love to go to the mountaind with you.

AMY  I love coleslaw. We mostly have brown eggs here but some markets have white ones. The farm fresh eggs are brown.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

Good morning on another hot and humid day.  I wrote a long post but lost it when my internet had a sudden glitch.  I won't go through all of that again so will just say that I hope everyone is doing OK and that it will be a good day for ALL.

Sorry Phyllis  -
how frustrating .. That has happened to me
before, too.   No fun!

On being bored.
I am never bored,  ever.
But now it is hard to
muster up enough strength
to find something to do
to replace the boredom that is
every where.!!

I need to go find a series of
Movie on Netflix, Hulu, or
Prime....  There must be something
out there hiding from me to
keep my mind from "pityville" ..

ha ha
Have a good day,  eeryone!

Good night my friends!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning everyone...

I thought it was 6:30 not 5:30 am , oh well I am up now. I foresee a cat nap in my future today.  I do have a few chores to do before we head into town for more lumber. This time Kyle is making a 4 x 8 ' trug and just needs the side boards to finish it off.

I have a date with the vacuum and then wash the floors. Doesn't that sound thrilling?  ;D

Gloria, Kyle is a carpenter by trade and loves working with wood. When we moved here each year we tackled a room. He built  the kitchen cupboards along with pullout pots and pan drawers and pull out what I call my morgue drawers . I use them for my linens top one and canning, baking  utensils in the bottom one.....big enough for a person to lie down in!

Now that I am up early better make the most of it.

Enjoy your day and stay safe everyone..

We're up and moving today!  Mickie's been out and had her pill and we're waiting for the boinger. And I've had my first cup of coffee.  I'm not sure what today will bring but I'm ready to face this day.

AMY, Mickie has decided that sometime between 5 and 5 and 5:30 is the time to get up.  I'm hoping that only means that when she sees daylight at the windows it's time.  Maybe that will change with the changing seasons.  When she did that in other summers, Annie would look at her then look over her shoulder at me and lay her head back down.  She trusted her instincts and her instincts told her it wasn't time yet.

We've given up our after lunch walks.  It's just plain too hot.  And Mickie found a way to tell me that.  We got past the house next door and into the shade of a big tree at the house on the corner and she just flopped!  And she wouldn't get up until I reversed direction and started back home.  Smart doggie!

It's almost time for the boinger so...

I wish you all a pleasant day!
Make it your own in every way!

And don't forget to share it with all of us!

Cloudy, hot, humid, and storms predicted.  Typical summer day.  More laundry today.  I split it into two days.  It is easier for us to do it that way so Mon. and Tues. are usually laundry days with Tues. being household items.

Very quiet here.  I'll be getting a fresh food delivery from Papa Spud's later so I'll see what comes in the box.  I know I'll be getting some fresh raspberries and I'm looking forward to that.

I hope that All of you are well.  Any plans for 4th of July celebration?  None here, at least not yet.

Take care.

Good morning everyone, rained yesterday and more coming today with a few thunderstorms every day. Yuck. Slept late today, almost 8 when I got up. Sleeping a whole 8 hours has left me stiff and today Yvette will be comin‌g early. Her client before me has a medical appointment this morning.

BUBBLE  thanks for the link.

SHIRLEY  what a beautiful pool and area around it. A shame that no one ever uses the pool. I am with AMY I would be in it all summer.

I better get moving and get dressed before Yvette gets here.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Boy! We must have been a busy (or lazy) group today!  No one's been in here since 9:15 this morning and it's almost 10 now.

Lots of things found me to do them today including some laundry and moving some more stuff in the store room!  I watered the plants, made some phone calls, did two loads of laundry, cleaned some fresh fruit, took Mickie for several walks (even let her take ME for a walk once).  I read the paper, did a crossword puzzle and a work jumble. At one point the zzzzzs caught up with me.

Now I'm off to bed.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!
