Good afternoon...my eyes are leaking now too, after reading about Stevie.  Thank you, LARRY, for sharing this.  IF only everyone could be kind hearted and reach out to those in need, we would have a lot happier world for us to live on.  There are many caring folk out there, but it seems that the news only want to tell about the non caring Kind.

I do believe I am FINALLY getting over this crazy bug.  I had a much better night of rest and woke up almost feeling human today.  Now if we can just get Bob to feeling better and not have his bug hang on like mine has!

We received 5 to 6” of snow over night, but the sun was out this morning and it was a beautiful winter wonderland sight to see.

GLORIA, I am sure hoping this 4th Nor’easter will prove to be not too bad for you and our friends on the East Coast.  I enjoyed the hummingbird story.  Thank you for sharing.

Today is the 16th anniversary of my Mama’s passing.  I guess we never get over the hurt of THAT DAY, do we?

I wish EVERYFRIEND and good rest of your day.

I am home for supper and the rest of the day. I got lost in time...did another order from Amazon. I needed some knew high nylons for some shorter summer dresses. And summer will be here before we know it.My legs are so discolored below the knee from my arterial disease, but I do like shorter dresses when the weather turns hot. Hence the hosiery.

Now it is time to heat up my soup or it will be bed time before I know it. Have a good night my dear ones. I love you so much, and wish the very best for all of you. God is watching over us. Thanks be to God.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Jenny, you are so right.... my mother died Nov.25, 1988.  I've never met anyone else in my whole life that tried harder to make everyone happy and "do what was right".  I'm sure you feel the same, Jenny, and sincere sympathy for the sad thoughts today.  Glad your cold is better & hope Bob's doesn't drag on so long.  Know you will be relieved when he gets done with the doctor.  I'm with you, thinking it not a smart idea waiting so long to close the wound.

Larry, special story & my eyes did fill.  I had read it a long time ago with the same effect.  I had a cousin born 10 days after my oldest son, to my "middle aged" aunt & uncle.  The baby had Downs and my baby was born with the cord around his neck.  The doctor explained to me that "he could be blind, deaf or retarded" because of lack of oxygen. A day later a ward nurse took him out of the Isolette to feed him and the doctor said they had to increase oxygen to "a dangerous level".  I went on home and my baby stayed for 10 days.  My cousin died a couple years ago, Downs people tend to have digestive as well as heart problems.  My son didn't have any of the problems we feared, in first grade was doing 5th grade work (so the teachers told us).  Any time I see a child with Downs or mental disability I say a little prayer.. "there but for the Grace of God, could be my child".  Not that I would love him any less, but he doesn't have the hardships that come with special needs kids.  Love the stories with a heart. Your church group sure does a lot of good for everyone & brings a lot of pleasure for the members.  A treat to hear about them.

Gloria, Lloyd, I have a bunch of photos that I took of birds that were stunned when they flew into the fence around our pool.  If I get to them fast I pick them up, reach down for a hand full of water to sprinkle in their face.  I talk to them and won't let them close their eyes, after a while they will be hanging onto my finger. If they don't fly off I take them to an evergreen shrub and place them far enough in so they can balance.  Only once did I find one alive but with a broken wing & couldn't fly.  I didn't realize it couldn't fly until it was in the shrub & it could not fly  up but was able to get away from me so I didn't chase it.  I even have photos of a young Cooper's hawk on my wrist that flew into the pool fence.  I was a little uneasy pushing my wrist under it's tummy to have it step on my arm... it didn't try to bite.  After a while I gave it a lift into a small tree and came inside to find something to feed it.  Got good photos that I e-mailed to the City Naturalist... he said it was a Cooper's hawk.  Sadly, if I'm not home or don't hear them hit, I often find a dead bird near the fence... the panels are smoky now so they don't run into them much anymore.  Hope the new fence will show up so they don't hit it when doing their "chasing".

Jane, when I go "home to MO" I have to wait until mid morning to not drive into the sun coming up.... and can't come home in the evening because that sun blazing on the horizon makes it impossible to see the highway.  I plan on an extra night to sleep & drive home in the morning.  We used to drive home & back the same day..... The sun didn't bother either of us when our eyes were younger!  I haven't read my new Reader's Digest but while I am a #1 procrastenator, I had a really dumb day.  I wanted to pull my refrigerator out to clean dust & cat hair from the motor, so had to move the wood tea cart that holds the microwave & whole top covered with matching mugs, the other side of the tea cart holds my big mixer & other end is the coffee pot.  Being too lazy to unload everything I push it about 5' over to a plug in built into the floor so I can plug the microwave back in.  Takes a power strip/extention because the MW cord is short.  I unscrewed the cover of the plug in, connected the cord & nothing... I fiddled with cord, tried the vac direct into the plug & it worked so had to be the new power strip.  Nope, it fired up the sweeper.  After spending an hour I decided I could heat a cup of that coffee in a pan on the stove!  THEN it dawned on me.... the power cord to the mixer was hanging down the back & as heavy duty as the microwave... yep, can't get the microwave to run by plugging in the mixer.  Got everything out, rugs rolled up & then I found I couldn't budge that frig.  Gave up & called #1 son.  Job done & I am ready for bed tonight!

Phyllis, I drove through the park across from Back Bay Blvd & think of you each time.  Such a pretty spot & now we have a round about at the end of the park so easier to go downtown or into the park where the zoo was or drive through the park.  I wondered if you were a KU or KState fan.... my Shockers did not play up to par, big disappointment.  Wichita hosted part of the games in our new arena.  The weather did not cooperate... wind blew like crazy.

Joy, I've been cutting my own hair since about 8th grade.  I was the first to have this short hair in my home town.... saw a picture in a magazine & did the deed that shocked everyone.  Not the same thick hair but still grows too fast to "go get it done".  When I used to dye it, I had to cover the roots every 10 days it grew so fast.  So I quit dying it about 35 years ago.  No regrets!

I've been in & out all day & this could go on another page but I will stop now!  One more feeding for the cats & we can all go to bed.  Cold here, actually got about an inch of rain last night.  Woke up to a strange noise & when I finally realized what it was, I went right back to sleep with a smile on my face.  One news man said we hadn't have rain since last October.

Sweet dreams to all.  Good night, June.... I'll turn out the lights. Shirley

JaneS

It's not hard for me to remember when my mother left us.  She suffered a stroke on Good Friday, was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and died the day before my birthday and was buried the day after.  It was several years before I felt like celebrating my birthday again but I finally told myself that she'd done the best thing she could ever do for me.  She gave me life and I better darn well appreciate that or she might decide to haunt me.  I could hear her laughing at that!

I'm off to Dreamland!  I wish you all a peaceful night and a happy tomorrow.  God be with you!

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The doggies and I are up and attem today.  We're waiting for the "boing" for breakfast and then I'll be off to work.  Wally World beckons.  I hope Everyfriend has a lovely day today.  Tomorrow is supposed to bring us more snow.  The weather person has not been right on our amounts yet and I hope this isn't the time it changes.  They are predicting a major amount....anywhere from 6 to 10 inches.  The last time that was predicted we got about a inch and a half.  I'm hoping it does that again.  Smile and world will smile with you!

Shirley, I was hoping the Shockers would do better this year but.......well, there is always next year.  You should NOT be moving, or even trying to move, refrigerators!!!  Who, besides you, cares about the dust behind the fridge?!

Jane, hope the people in your line all have big smiles today.

Rainy here but we missed the storms that hit the southeast last night.  Hope they don't come here today.  Are you all right, Larry?

Good morning everyone. I am so tired of this freezing weather.16° now and that is supposed to be the temperature in January or February, not past mid March. Just saw on the news the hail from the storm around Alabama or Tennessee. That is the storm headed here on Thursday. Another package bomb in Texas, what is going on down there. Some people are so darn rotten all over the world these days. All some thin of if destroying or killing innocent people. Around here the last couple of weeks there has been cars driving into buildings.

JANE  I know what you mean about driving into the east in the mornings and west in the evenings. I think all my jobs I had to drive in those directions. Have you thought of those new glassed I see on TV that can go over glasses if you wear them, those yellow/amber colored that cut the glare of the sun and headlights? If I was still driving I would get a pair of them. WOW  if the RD says procrastination is smart boy I must be getting smarter every day.

BUBBLE  like you I do not open email if I do not know the person or place it is coming from. If I got one from you though like you did from yourself I wonder what I would do. Of course if the part I could read did not sound like you it would be sent to  be blocked. When someone I know sends a link I copy/paste it, not click on it. I agree, better safe than sorry.

LLOYD  good for you rescuing that hummingbird. Yep you are as sweet a sugar and would melt in the rain.

LARRY  heart warming story, thanks. Don't know how many times I have read it and it still is touching.

AMY  I would love to see an eagle in the wild. Only time I have seen one is in a zoo. First time was in Providence many years ago and it was in a pretty small cage, doubt it was big enough for it to fly in, Cruel. The other time was the San Diego zoo. A man came out with it on his arm and talked about eagles. Then je lifted his arm and the eagle flew away It circled and kept going higher till I could just about see it. Then he dove down and landed on his arm. I had thought the eagle would just see it was free and not come back.

JUNE  hope you got to watch Easter Parade, that sure is an old movie.

JENNY  if the media would stop reporting all the bad things that happen and started reporting good things people do we might not have so many shooting by those who want their 15 minutes of fame. You woke to a view yesterday morning like we had last week. Like a Christmas card setting? My Mom died 63 years ago and at times I hear or see something and think I have to tell her about it. I still miss her.

SHIRLEY  I remember the picture you posted in SN of the robin sitting on your hand. The other day I was looking for a different photo to use as wallpaper and found your Bottoms Up. The one with all the ducks with heads in the water and butts sticking up. Had to laugh when I saw it. Did that new power strip have a button on it to start up? The new one I have has one and at first I thought it was faulty. Then checking it over on the short side I saw the button. Every time it is unplugged that button had to be pushed.

DON  thanks for the link. Great seeing the history of what you visited and greater to see you and Bubble together.

Did Jesus Use...
(Author Unknown)

Did Jesus use Twitter,
At the Sermon on the Mount?
Did He ever try Facebook,
To send His message out?
Did the disciples carry cell phones,
As they went about their route?
Did Jesus use Twitter,
At the Sermon on the Mount?

Did Paul use a Laptop,
With lots of RAM and ROM?
Were his letters posted on a blog,
At Paul.Rome.Com?
Did the man from Macedonia,
Send an E-Mail saying "Come?"
Did Paul use a Laptop,
With lots of RAM and ROM?

Did Moses use a joystick,
At the parting of the Sea?
And a Satellite Guidance Tracking System,
To show him where to be?
Did he write the law on tablets,
Or are they really on CD?
Did Moses use a joystick,
At the parting of the Sea?

Did Jesus really die for us,
One day upon a tree?
Or was it just a Hologram,
Or Technical Wizardry?
Can you download the Live Action Video Clip,
To play on your PC?
Did Jesus really die for us,
One day upon a tree?

Have the wonders of this modern age,
Made you question what is true?
How a single man, in a "simple time",
Could offer life anew?
How a sinless life, a cruel death,
Then a glorious life again,
Could offer more to a desperate world,
Than all the inventions of man?

If in your life, the voice of God,
Is sometimes hard to hear.
With other voices calling,
His doesn't touch your ear.
Then set aside your laptop,
And all your fancy gear.
And open your Bible, open your heart,
And let your Father draw near

Hi Everyone.  We kept getting severe storm warning after midnight.  Fortunately, where I live we only had one big lightning strike and loud clap of thunder and moderate rain for a couple of hours and none of the 40-50 MPH wind that was expected.  However, the storm did hit over in Augusta and at least one business was damaged and more than one employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.  I did not sleep well last night with only a couple of hour after I went to bed and then a couple before I got up late this morning.  We are going to see 78 degree temperatures this afternoon.

Pat and I plan on going over to Dairy Queen for lunch, which will be our main meal of the day, as this is free cone day.  I will also run into Walmart to get a couple of things Pat needs to make the corned beef.  I want to finish up an audiobook that has only a little over an hour to go.  Yesterday I got notice from the library that a John Grisham Book that I have had on hold for quite awhile was checkout to me so will start listening to it later today as well. The new reading lamp that Pat needed came yesterday and I was able to assemble it.  I also got my Ring doorbell assembled.  Today we are to get the Rollator but think I will leave that for Scott to put together tomorrow evening.  I did order a new laptop for Pat's sister and it should come tomorrow.  Rather than having it sent directly to her I am having it shipped to me so I can get everything up to date on it as she knows little about using a computer.  I hope to have it ready and will ship it off to her before the end of the week.

Amy, you are fortunate to live where you can see such wildlife. I read a couple of days ago about France training falcons to intercept drones.  I am glad you and others enjoyed the story.  I wasn't sure many would read it as it was so long.

Phyllis, glad to see you are using the Turbo Tax to prepare and file your taxes.  I misunderstood and thought you were preparing the forms manually like we used to have to do.  I learned yesterday that starting in 2018 that in addition to the $24,000 standard deduction those that are over 65 are entitled to claim an additional $1,300 each.  I think coach Roy Williams is a very classy guy and a very good coach.  All teams can have some bad games and that one came at a bad time.  They weren't the only teams that struggled in their games. We were fine after the weather front went through early this morning and now the sun is trying to shine.

Jane, glad your son can prepare your taxes and save you several dollars.  How much longer does his basketball team have before the season is over?  I hope Paula was able to find your ears yesterday.

June, I knew my directions when I was growing up on the farm but in most places I live the roads and streets are so curvy that the houses can be facing any which way.  Of course, I know the sun rises in the East and sets in the West so have a general idea of directions.  My mother had been very thoughtful in having everything sorted out and even had the pictures sorted into a stack for me and a stack for my sister.  The folks had had several garage sales and things were easy to deal with when we had to sell the house and their belongings.

Jenny, I guess the stories of kind deeds and kind persons just don't sell many newspapers or draw in viewer of newscast.  However, I do give NBC News credit for ending their newscasts with a story that is uplifting after all the bad news.  So glad to read you were feeling better and hope each day continues with the improvement.  I know he is happy that today has finally arrived and he can get the wound closed up and start to heal.

Shirley, I can't even imagine the strain that you and your husband felt regarding the potential problems your son could experience.  So glad that the doctor was wrong.  I was told by my parents that when I was born I had an enlarged thymus gland and almost died.  they had to give me radiation treatments to shrink it. It sounds like you have some pretty amazing photos of the birds.  You obviously have a very kind and caring heart for all of God's creatures.  I can relate to your story about not getting your microwave to work as tried to make toast the other day in our new toaster oven and couldn't understand why it wasn't heating and of course discovered I did have it plugged in.  It was the first use of the appliance we had and my immediate thought was here is another think that is defective and that wasn't the case.

Gloria, I find it amazing now that most everything that happens is captured on camera and then can be shown on TV.  I don't know whether more bad things are happening now than have always happened but we now are bombarded with so many of these bad things. Things take on a different perspective when we see them on TV than when we just read about them as we used to do.

Joy

Good morning.

Looks like a blizzard out my window this morning.  I am in Central Maryland, close to the PA.  line. They are predicting up to 10 in. of snow for this area. Sure doesn't look the first day of Spring here.  It is supposed to continue on to tomorrow, also.   I have a long line of BIG pine trees right across the driveway from my place and they are slowing getting covered.  The ground is also covered now.  The driveway is also covered.  We had rain earlier and the weather people said it would not be laying on the roads because of the rain and warmer temperatures.  I  have not seen what the temperature is, but it must be getting colder as the snow is sticking pretty good.   Hopefully, the snow will not be around for too long.  It is bound to get warmer in a few days.

Larry,  hope you and Pat will enjoy your  lunch at Dairy Queen.  I thought they only served ice cream things and didn't know they had lunch items. I don't remember the last time I was in a Dairy Queen.  I don't even know where any are around me.   Nice that you are getting Pat's sister's new computer set up for her before you forward it on to her.   I am sure she will appreciate your help with the set-up.

This weather really has me feeling so dreary..... just like the day is..

I am thinking I might get out my Spring wreath for my door.  And, put the winter wreath away.  That might boost up my spirits.  It just seems to be getting worse by the minute outside. Now the wind has picked up.  Most school systems will be dismissing early and no after-school activities,.

Also, there has been another school shooting at a high school down in Southern Maryland.  Two students in critical condition along with the shooter.  I just don't know where this all is going to end.

Hope everyone will have a good day.  For the ones in the line of these current storms and tornadoes,  please stay safe.

The sun is shining brightly but there is a flash flood warning for our area tomorrow and Thursday. We need rain, but not a flash flood.

I went  down for a meeting this morning and if was interesting. A "just in case" type of thing....like what to do in earthquake, fire, attack, etc.

Now I am waiting for the second seating for lunch at our small dining room down stairs. The large dining room has steady seating, but we in C building take turns. We have a choice in usage, but I prefer the small, quieter room. Then it will surely be book and nap time for this one.

Another bombing in Texas. San Antonio this time. I think that is where our Hal lived. I wonder what these bombers are thinking, to do things like this. Are they all mentally deficient,or just plain mean and destructive, and if so,why ? Are there any intelligent psychologists out there  ?????

Good evening everyone.
Another day disappeared. I needed to do some business but in another town so off we went. Did what I needed to do  then took a few steps to the quit shop.  Found out the elk panels had come in for me and I added a wee bit of insulation to our home also.my story and I am sticking to it. Decided to eat at a place know for great food so off we went, on the way I noticed a bird flying  and the closer we got I saw it was an eagle!!!Made my day!! Now, you will notice that I didn't check out the chocolate shop or the bakery....see I can be good....sort of.  fabric stores are my down fall.  I had phoned VON to tell them to come later and they did. All in all a great day.

Jane, as you know I can agree to that, in fact my son called me from Montreal  shortly after we got home. Think he is headed to ND this time. Nice to get your taxes done and finished with.

Jenny, happy to read you are feeling better but take it easy as it does come back on some people.

June,so sad to read all the problems ,shooting bombing, fires, wonder when it is all going to end?

Joy, please keep the snow there...we do have the ground covered again .
Larry, I enjoy DQ....especially the Dixie Bell sundae

Shirley, you sound like me, I brought every stray home ,injured birds and one snake but Mom didn't know about that one..

Gloria, I love watching the eagles..happy to see a come back on them in this area too.

Enjoy your evening everyone

Good evening, EVERYFRIEND.  We are finally home from Bob’s appointment and his wound is sutured up. The doctor told him she thought the wound looked very good......glad she did, as we sure didn’!  He has a big patch on the wound now and it is hurting him quite a bit.  Hopefully that will not last too long.  Tomorrow morning he goes in at 10AM to start the MOHS surgery on his nose.  We hope it can be done in one go and it won’t take all day.   Just anxious to get that behind him as well.  He will go back on a week and get the sutures removed from both sights.

I was concerned for many last night as we heard about the storms moving across the states.  I hope that all in the pathf the storms will be safe and keep warm.

We are warming up here, but the next snow is on the horizon for next Monday.  California is really getting hit right now with all the rains that will more than likely cause some flooding in many of the burn areas.

LARRY, how nice of you to get the laptop for Pat’s sister.  I know she will sure appreciate it.

I am bushed.....I think it is the stress of getting to this day and to get the doc appointment over.  I must admit though, I do think this cold has taken a lot out of me as I feel quite weak.  I know better days are to come.

I wish you all a good night.

Janie, I do understand the heartbreak of losing your mother during a holiday and your birthday... and knowing she would frown if you didn't appreciate the life she gave you.

"Who, besides you, cares about the dust behind the fridge?!"  Phyllis, my frig cares, it has enough trouble running because the people that built this house made a niche for the frig... right over the main furnace duct to the kitchen, utility room & bathroom .  How dumb
can a builder/designer be?  Absolutely no other place to put it.  That cat fur sucks right into the motor, you should see what comes out.. I can hear it gasping for air.

Gloria, that power strip does have a reset button & I did push it on & off at least half a dozen times.... before I realized I was plugging in the wrong appliance~~  I had dreaded that job & think my brain just refused to operate.   When I was taking the photos of those geese all bobbing their head down at the same time, I could hardly hold still from laughing to get a decent picture.  They just kept doing it.  I didn't realize the water was so shallow in that spot, but they were eating something off the bottom and I couldn't tell which one was barking the order to go up & down!

Joy, I would have loved one good snow to look at this year.... none last year, either!  The farmers would have benefitted from snow covering the winter wheat, they aren't sure if the rain yesterday will be enough to help, they are desperate for moisture.  The old saying, "them that has, gets"... comes to mind LOL.... y'all have had more than your share this winter.

I need to run a load of clothes but can hardly keep my eyes open.  Janie, if you find some zzzzzzzzs missing I think I found them!!!

Jenny, glad Don's ordeal is over, at least the worst of it.  No question about stress taking a toll on our body & mind.  Hugs to you, my friend, and hope you can get a few days of peace & quiet to "sleep the stress away".  By the way, since Mama Callie has been coming in to eat with Tom & Tiger, Tom has taken to "marking" his territory IN THE HOUSE.  Don't know what I will do about him but I can't get him to understand that is not acceptable, cats are harder (impossible) to train.

I had a good snooze this afternoon, then went out for a walk, and here was Mama Duck and her nine little yellow ducklings parading around our gardens and bathing in the little man made pond. Lots of cameras at work, and all the usual OOOO's and AHAhAh's from we humans. Then I watched the paramedics take care of  gentleman who had fallen. From Joy to serious prayer.....it was a busy time.

Jenny, I am so sorry Bob has to go in so soon for the surgery on his nose.He could use a break from all this surgical stress. And so could you. I know I suffered right along with my Ed.

I had a huge lunch downstairs today, so I am going to fix a liighlt supper at home. left over chicken noodle soup and a salad, and of course a desert of some kind.

Hope to come back to say goodnight.

SHIRLEY, take all the zzzzs you need.  I can always come up with more these days.

We're supposed to be getting snow beginning around 4 a.m. and lasting through most of the day.  I have to work 10 to 2 so I could use a small prayer or two that it doesn't accumulate too much until I get there and get back home.

Good night my friends.  Sleep peacefully and know that God watched over us.

Good morning everyone.

I think we all are so ready for Spring.....not more snow!!! Today we are off for hubby to get a holter monitor  on . I have more drawers/closets that need a cleaning out today.

Good/great news, the fellow that you prayed for had to have his surgery rather than all his chemo treatments. He just wasn't able to keep any food down so they decided to remove his stomach. the GREAT news is they didn't take it all!! The Drs left him with 20% which is great news for everyone. He still isn't out of the woods yet, still need more chemo but is eating and keeping food down. Please keep him I'm your prayers and thank you for the prayers said. God is so good!!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Good Morning AMY good news about your friend. it is 37º and mostly cloudy here in central USA. in MO. calling for to become partly sunny and 49º today.

I pray you all have a great day as you like it to be.

Yay for your friend, AMY!  Prayers will continue.

Good Morning to AMY and LLOYD  and anyone else who ventures in today.

We were supposed to have snow showers yesterday.  We didn't!  Snow was supposed to start at 4 a.m and continue through the day.  It hasn't started yet and it's almost 8:30.  I'm holding my breath.  Maybe it will go around us.  I think Harrisburg is getting some of it now.

I'll be off to Wally World at 10.  Wish me smiles and short lines.  I suppose we'll have all the people who didn't make it in yesterday.  I can't understand their urgency.  We got snowed in lots of times...no potato chips, video games or pepsi.  And we survived.

Enjoy your day whatever comes your way!

This the year of the "Never Ending Winter".  It is snowing!  I had hoped to get out of the house today after being housebound for nearly a week but I think I have changed my mind.

You are right, Shirley.  Poor design to put a heating vent under where the fridge needs to go.  I'm convinced that most houses are designed by people who never would agree to live in them.  I think kitchens especially are dreamed up by designers who never cook or clean them!

I must not get started...after all, this is not the Gripes forum.  Off to get some breakfast.....maybe that will improve my outlook.  Or then again, I just may pour another cup of coffee and indulge in some more grumbling.  Sometimes it is very satisfying to be a curmudgeon.   >:(   ;)

PHYLLIS, some of my best friends are curmudgeons....maybe that's why I like them.  I tend to be one too...more and more often....especially in the winter!

Hi Everyone. We have a bright and sunny morning but will have a cooler day getting only into the low to mid-50s.  The only thing on our schedule for today is dinner at the Church this evening and then spending time with Scott and Jennifer.  We did get the rollator yesterday and I will ask Scott to put it together this evening. He enjoys assembling things and I don't.  We did enjoy our lunch out at Dairy Queen yesterday and the ice cream cone was even better because it was free.  I guess a little of my Scottish background shows.  :)

Joy, it sounds like a winter wonderland up your way.  I saw where the Federal Government office were closed today in DC and I expect in several States as well. Dairy Queen has had a sandwich menu for many years.  I think I like their hamburgers as well as any I have eaten out and they have really good onion rings. We are just happy to be able to provide some help to Pat's sister once in a while. We have two nice Spring type wreaths for our front door.  I will have to get one of those out before long and will as get some artificial flowers for the outside container on the little table on our front porch.  I read this morning that the bomber in Austin, Texas apparently killed himself when a bomb he had in his car went off.

June, good thing to review what to do in case of emergencies as our memories fade with time.  There are people who are just evil. I would love to have seen the Mama duck and her nine little duckling.

Amy,  glad you were able to visit the quilt shop.  I see you kept yourself under control and stayed out of the chocolate shop and the bakery.  Those would have had higher priority in my book.  :) I haven't seen a Dixie Bell Sundae on the available list in any of the Dairy Queens where I have lived. I will look carefully at the board on our next visit to see if it is listed.

Jenny, glad that ordeal is over for Bob and the healing can begin but sorry to read he now has to have the MOHs procedure done on his nose.  I remember waiting after my MOHs procedure out in the waiting room while they checked on whether they can gotten all of the cancer and the room looked like a disaster area with all the bandages on faces in different places.  Maybe with the procedures done for Bob you can now relax and finish your own recovery so you can get back to enjoying your life.

Shirley, Pat lost her mother on Christmas Eve and we had company.  Pat was a real trouper, as she has always been, and we went ahead with Christmas.  The children were young at the time.  I have never heard of anyone else having a refrigerator situated as yours is.

Jane, I hope you made it to work safely and then were able to get home OK. It sure sounds iffy up your way.

Lloyd, glad you are in for a better day today weather wise.

Phyllis, sounds like a wise decision to stay in your house and not risk getting out and falling.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, when I finally fell asleep in the wee hours of the morning I really slept. Was almost 9am when I woke. No rain or snow yet but it sounds very quiet, like it is when it snows.  No comments this morning, will try to speed read the posts, CNA will be here in 45 minutes.

Happy first day of SPRING. Still waiting for the snow to start here.

Larry, I checked for Dairy Queen nearby and there aren't any close enough to make a visit.  All over town, but not here.

We had our Internet upgraded this morning, but so far it hasn't gone to where Tom wants and needs it.  He'll check it tomorrow morning before he complains.

I hate to make those getting snow sad, but the sun is shining brightly here.  It isn't too warm, but it is comfortable.  My thermometer disappeared during the Internet upgrade so I'll have to hunt for it.  I have a disaster area for workmen to work so I imagine it was in the way.

Lindancer

Good afternoon, we are now having our 4th Nor'easter in 3 week.  Maryann, send some of that Sunshine.
Amy prays still going for your friend. that sounds like a horrible operation.

Jenny, also paying for you and Bob. Still be careful about that cold and cough. My neighbor still sounds like you.  she did finally go to a walk in clinic, and they did and XRAy, and said she had walking pneumonia. the first place she went to, did not do and XRAY.

Larry, our closet Dairy Queen, is about 8 miles away in Hampton Bays.

Jane, the grocery baskets were piled high yesterday, so no one is starving to day, I think they also had plenty to drink. I remember, when I was young, sometimes we would be stuck in for a week.  Mom, just did more baking, we played checks, jacks, India etc.  Mom got the ice cream churn out and we MADE ice cream.

This time I must have hit the wrong button, as it posted before I was done.

Gloria, I guess you are having the same weather we are, the schools are closed again I did get to the doctors, as the next appointment I could getwas next Wed.. It was very important that I see the doctor, as my heart rate, is all over the place. One pill I cannot take if my rate is belong 60, which it is most of the time since I am home.  then at night I have Atril, because I have not taken the medicine to control my heart rate. Now the doctor said take the meds. no matter what my heart rate is. they want me to get a pace maker.  I will talk it over with the doctor next week.

Talking about mothers, I was and only child and my mother and I were very close. Even after I got married. she called me everyday. She was killed age 52, in a train auto accident. It was on Mother's Day.
