Hi Everyone.  We have a truly beautiful day ahead.  We will be getting up to 75 degrees this afternoon with sunny skies.  I had a great nights sleep last night and feel like a new person.  The night before I hadn't slept well and was very tired from the time I got up until I went to bed for the night.  I did go to coffee and then in the afternoon attended the funeral I mentioned yesterday.  I just plan on a nice quiet day at home today with some good basketball watching this afternoon and evening.  I need to finish up filing the taxes and need to work on Pat's laptop and update the spare I have here in my office, which I haven't had on for quite awhile.

Last night Pat dropped her new phone on the floor and the back came off and she wasn't able to find it.  I got down on the floor and looked under her chair and all around only to find it right in front of my side table in plain site.  With this wood flooring you never know where things are going to land.

Jane, that is such a cute story.  I bet all the parents in attendance could relate and enjoyed the experience.  I hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday and getting to be with Kiran for a little while.

roley, I hope your granddaughter enjoys great success with your art work.  The way things are going most buying and selling will be done via the Internet before too long.  I have been enjoying the Internet for about 25 years and can no longer imagine my life without it.  I guess I would get a lot more reading done although read all the time on the Internet including some books and a lot of audiobooks.  Glad you didn't have to go through the night without heat.  These things last a long time but do have a limited life and have to be replaced.

Callie, my former neighbor had a beautiful Bradford Pear tree that split apart several years before we moved and had to be removed.  You all sure didn't want the trees landing on your homes.  Cute story about your grandson. I haven't heard of any tearoom around here.  Hope you enjoy your "Ladies Luncheon" with Miss Emily today.  Our good china and crystal just sits in the hutch and has been used probably in the last 8 or so years and not likely to be used in the future.  At least it is nice to look at occasionally.  It is all wedding gifts so it is getting old just like us but looks like new.  As I think about it that just doesn't seem fair as we sure don't like like we did 55 years ago.

Amy,  Pat loved your quilts.  I will send you the comments she made back in the email I had forwarded to her. Do you also have a wood stove in your garage?

Joy, nice to stay inside when it is so cold.  I am never bored if I have a book to read or can be using my computer working a jigsaw or crossword puzzle.  Since I have had my cataracts removed am enjoying reading books again and do so on my Kindle app on my phone or on the computer.

Ray, great to see your posting again and hope you will join us here everyday or as you feel up to doing so.  I didn't realize your age and it sounds like you are in the right place now.  We have a lady who is 103 that lives in assisted living but attends Church services almost every Sunday with her daughter and SIL.  At the table where we sit during the Wednesday night dinners at church we have two ladies that are 95 and beyond.

Shirley, you always make sense and I always find your postings of interest.  We haven't had to water our yards here yet as have been getting rain and our yard hasn't greened up yet.  At least the German Shepherd survived its international travels while the other dog did not.  I find it hard to believe that United Airlines has a policy that would require small dogs be put in the overhead luggage racks during a flight.

Lloyd, it sounds like you overworked yesterday.  Do your have to remove that track when you get it home and put on another one?

Jenny, that does sound like a challenge to dress the wound for Bob.  At least you can confer with Dr. Dave.  Sad story about Trip and what a long struggle for him and his parents.

Gloria, you all are not getting a break on the winter weather.  Black ice is so dangerous.  We have gone through the winter without any ice and just the one brief morning snow.  I did enjoy the basketball I watched yesterday.  I didn't see the RI game but saw they were the victors. I hope they continue to do well.  There are many very good basketball players in the colleges now.

JaneS

I'm home and I delivered Cathy home.  NO POLYPS AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO BACK FOR 5 YEARS!

LARRY, I read something yesterday that said the person who told the lady to put her carrier in the overhead on the plane, didn't know there was a dog inside.  I don't know how that's possible because if it were me, I'd have been protesting loudly that my doggie was in there and would smother in the overhead.

Hello my dear good friends.

Jenny, sorry I didn't post yesterday. I read the messages and enjoyed the St. Patricks art that our BUBBLE posted, and thank you LLOYD for missing me. I read all the messages, as I did again just now, so I will add my twocents worth right now.

All is well here. Nothing new or exciting. Horrible accident in Florida yesterday.

We are having a beautiful day in Stanton. Blue skies, then huge white puffy clouds, then more sun......ever changing,so it is worth just sitting and watching God's artistry.

My housekeeper was in today. I really don't need a cleaning and linen change every week....every two weeks would be more sensible, but I will not talk to management as I sure would not want to put anyone out of a job. It was my housekeeper that requested a carpet cleaning for me, and I didn't even request it. It looks wonderful though.

Janie, I am SO happy to read that your daughters colostomy is A-OK. And I can hear you thanking God . My sons' health is of prime importance to me too as are all of our families.

I will be eating "at home" today..have left-overs to use up. I just cannot throw away good food. The depression years left a strong memory with me.Can you imagine having nothing but corn meal mush to eat for three days? We did it. And we only had the cornmeal thanks to Pres. Roosevelt.

Jenny, I am thanking God that your son is a doctor. It gives you an outlet for loving information. That woman doctor out to be dis-barred from practicing medicine.

Time to go raid my refrigerator for some lunch.....have a Blessed day dear friends. June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Carol

We are invited to an early supper - this is the 2nd day of 3 total days celebrating a friend's birthday on St. Patrick's Day.  Her name is Pat.  Today will be tacos and tomorrow cake and ice cream.  Yesterday, we had her and one daughter over for hours of visiting outdoors - today is cool.

Jenny:  Sorry for the news on Tripp - how devastating for the family to endure such a long time of his hospitalization then all end.  We are to believe there is a reason and perhaps more medical knowledge can be gained from this sacrifice.  What a shock for you regarding Bob's open wound.  Glad you have your expert and we hope Bob is recuperating quickly.

I baked two heavy loaves of pumpkin cranberry bread and will freeze them to be ready for company.

Lindancer

Good evening, home from the hospital.  Thank all you lovely people for your prays and good wishes. Everyone of you would get a hug if I could reach you. I am going to make this short as I am very tired.

MaryAnn you and I are both so luck to have great nephews.

Jenny I am so sorry to read about your husband's surgery.  I have to say I like all my nursing staff, but I saw so many great doctors, but not so great.  The 2nd night I was in the hospital and had another attack in the middle of the night, they finally gave me a shot of morphine and RN SAT IN A CHAIR NEXT to my  bed and help my hand for about 20 min. Her name was Barbara. When the hospital sends the form around about how they are doing, I want to mention her name.

Hope June is OK

Good night and prays to all in need.

So pleased to see your message and know you are home again.  Not a good experience being in hospital.  Take care and so pleased your nephew (or was it G/S) was there to help you.   Junee

June Drabek

Junee, how happy I am to see your post. I "see"  you so seldom now. I pray all is well with you.

Gloria de, my darling friend. I am fine, and SO thankful to see your post. I have a feeling you are very loved by many of the folks in your hospital, because you are such a lovable lady.

My son Gary was here today getting me set up with a new market, and he has convinced me that he would take over the shopping on-line that I have been having problems with. He said I should just email a list of what I want, he will order it for me,and have it sent to my apartment.
God just keeps blessing me with so much family love.

I am tired..a bit of stress is like a LOT of stress as I age. So it will be an early to bed now. We will meet again on the Morrow. Hugs, Love, and many Prayers. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

Good evening.

We finally had a call from the doctors office this afternoon saying that she did get all of the cancer removed and will not need to take anymore tissue. Unfortunately, we asked to get in sooner to have the wound sewn up and it is not possible. No openings.  He goes in at 2:30 on Tuesday.....that time can not come soon enough for me.  We changed the dressing again today and it still is a shock to see how it was left.  We so appreciate all,of the kind words of support as well as good thoughts and prayers.

So good to see your post, JUNE, and to know you are OK.  I am happy to read that Gary will now take over your online grocery shopping.  You do not need any unnecessary stress.  It is always nice to have your carpet cleaned, even if you were not the one who asked t9 have it done.

Happy, happy to see your post, GLORIA de.  I am so sorry you continue to have the heart attacks. How frightening it must be for you to go through this.  We sure did appreciate Keith coming in to tell us where you were and t9 keep us posted how you were getting along.  So blessed you are to have him there caring for you.

JANE, so good to read that Cathy did well and will not have to return for another colonoscopy for 5 years.

I could not get my mind off of the parents of little Tripp, last night. After years of his constant care I know they have to be just lost.....they are both strong people and will get through this, but it sure came as a shock to so many people who have followed this story for 5 long years.

I wish you all a good night.  Pleasant dreams to all.

And now I'm here to say, "Good Morning Everyfriend!"  I wish you a good day wherever you are!  It's only 21º here this morning and not supposed to get above the mid 30s today.  Gonna be a cold one around here!  I'm so looking forward to SPRING!

Don't know what all I'll do today but I'm going to start with stripping the bed and washing everything on it and then putting it all back.   And I got out the stuff to make spaghetti sauce so that's on the agenda.  If it's not too cold, I think I'll take my scoop and a bag and clean up the yard after the doggies.  Not a fun job but necessary.

If Cathy goes to Wengers (The Amish Store) I just might go along.  And somewhere in there, today or tomorrow, I really need to find out if my ears are still there!

I lost another friend this week!  I've known her since our kids went to school together and she is also a member of my church.  I haven't seen her in a couple of years because she moved to the Harrisburg area to live with her daughter.  But the loss feels the same as if we'd seen each other yesterday.  Her memorial service will be at our church here in town next Saturday.

Enjoy your day Everyfriend!

Good Morning everyone. June Drabek you are most welcome. I think we are all missed when we have a easy day and not show up. Like I read all but my short trearm remember Is not good any more and I usually forget what I read or do before I get it posted. have a great day until we meet again. for quite some time I have had a catch and popping in my left arm . Wednesday when I went to VA they deadned it and took a very long needle and put a shot in the joint. it took care of the pain for a couple days but i think it is wearing off some what now. Have a great day everyone. It is 39º and cloudy here today and calling for 57º today.

Good morning everyone, finally had a good 8 hours of sleep last night and felt great when I woke. BUT as always from laying down in one position so long I can hardly move this morning without my back screaming at me. At times I think the 4 hours sleep is better-less pain. Oh well goes with the age I guess.

LARRY  one RI team lost but as of yesterday one is still playing. Cannot remember which one, I do not follow them, only what I see on local news.

JANE  wonderful for your daughter. My SIL has to go every year because they did find polyps ad there is a history of that cancer in his family. From what I saw on news yesterday that lady on the plane could not speak or understand English well or she would have known to tell the attendant her dog was in the bag.

JUNE  one thing that I loved seeing when I visited my daughter uin San Diego was the huge white clouds over the mountains. Nothing like that here. We get puffy white clouds but small ones.

GLORIA de  so glad you are home again and to see y our post. Thank your nephew for me for keeping us up to date about you. Now if he would join us here we would like that.

JUNEE  always greatt seeing you post. You are missed.

JENNY  wonderful news form Bob's surgeon. Now to ger it site sewed closed so healing can take place.

JANE  21° here too and the weather reports here say it will be colder tomorrow morning, maybe in the teens.

LLOYD  we don't thimk much about our arms till something goes wrong. I know with me it is my shoulders cannot put anything away in the cupboard anymore and it is hard hanging clothes in the closet. Then again I cannot stand on my own anymore either.

Have a great day.

Hi Everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day.  We are having rain today and just heard a clap of thunder.  There is a big St. Patrick's Day parade planned for downtown Augusta this morning.  Hopefully the rain won't dampen the spirits of the parade (probably not a word that should be used in this context on this day as expect there will be plenty of spirits consumed as there are numerous places to do that on the main street of Augusta).

Pat and I both had a good day yesterday.  However, today I don't seem to have any energy so plan on just staying in and resting.  I have fixed Pat's breakfast and mine and need to grind up some more cheddar cheese and that will probably be it for today.  I will miss my weekly meeting this morning but they will survive without me.

I saw these jokes and thought they were funny so wanted to share them:

St. Patrick's Day Jokes

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Q. Why do people wear shamrocks on St. Patrick's Day?
A. Regular rocks are too heavy.

Q. Why can't you borrow money from a leprechaun?
A. Because they're always a little short.

Q. How can you tell if an Irishman is having a good time?
A. He's Dublin over with laughter!

Q. How did the Irish Jig get started?
A. Too much to drink and not enough restrooms!

Jane, that was the kind of results that we all want to get with that test.  I heard something last night on the news that the lady with the dog didn't speak English and the stewardess thought it was just a regular piece of luggage.  I guess the bag needed to have barked at the stewardess and she would have known.  Who knows what the truth is as one really can't totally rely on what we hear in the news. It sounds like you have a busy day planned.  It is hard to lose a friend as each one is important to our lives.

June, glad you were fine yesterday.  I am sure you are paying for the weekly cleaning and linen change so you might was well enjoy it.  I have been very fortunate in that I have never known what it is to not have a good meal due to shortage of food.  Most of the food during my at home years came from the farm garden and the cattle and hogs we raised.  I always had a decent job that provided a paycheck every two weeks and the priority was food and shelter and utilities and then whatever else was needed.  There were many years when there really wasn't anything left over at the end of the two weeks.  Glad to see that Gary will now do your actually on-line grocery shopping as it seemed to be causing you undue stress that you don't need.

Carol, you are fortunate to have 3 days where you didn't have to prepare the evening meal although I guess the cake and ice cream probably doesn't provide a very nutritious meal.  That sure was an appropriate name for someone born on St. Patrick's Day.

deAngel, please take care of your need to rest before worrying about writing to us.  It sounds like Barbara was a very caring nurse.

Jenny, that is great news on the results of the cancer biopsy.  Just tell Bob that he will get more sympathy and loving care with that bandage around his head than just a small bandage when the wound is sewn up.

Lloyd, it is frustrating to get a shot like you did and then to have it not last.  My wife experienced that with the shots she had in her back.

Gloria, glad you had a good nights sleep.  I think it was Providence that lost and Rhode Island won.  I liked the Zen Sarcasm.

:frog: HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY, EVERYFRIEND

The view out my back windows is spectacular!   Neighbor's Bradford Pear still in full bloom,  wild plums are blooming all along the uncultivated area behind the fence and my yellow daffodils and multicolored pansies are in full bloom.
Wish I could do a panorama and share it with you.

Miss Emily was polite enough to eat one helping of the "Ladies Luncheon" casserole but took second helpings of the fruit salad and blueberry muffins.  :smitten:
We had a great visit.  I loved listening to her chatter about the fun things she and her roomies are doing when they have free time from their heavy class schedules and all the things she'd done with local friends while she's been home on Spring Break.

No Plans du Jour.  Just letting the day flow along as it will.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

CALLIE, you've been on my mind all day!  I was folding laundry and came across the shirt I bought when my daughter Cindy and I visited Talequah some years ago.  I triggered the song from the musical and that triggered thoughts of you!  The mind is an amazing thing, isn't it!

I have the bed clean and remade and spaghetti sauce cooking on the back burner for supper.  Anyone want to join me for homemade noodles?

Good afternoon everyone..
Dropped off my tops yesterday and picked more to do. A school friend and neighbour from long ago came and told me she too now has cancer but nothing can be done with this one.

Restless night and slept in this morning, Have laundry blowing on the line, beautiful sunny day and very windy......and cold too +22° F at the moment. Once I had the line full we headed to town for hubby's blister pack and milk.

Jane, great news for Cathy!!! I love pasta, too, even just plain pasta with butter and lots of garlic on it.

Gloria de...so good to see you in here..hope you feel better/stronger each day.

Larry, enjoyed your jokes!!

Lloyd, I am sorry you didn't get longer relief from that needle.was it cortisone the  Dr injected?

Gloria love your Zen sarcasm... will pass it on for others to have a laugh.

Callie, I googled Bradford pear tree and oh my it is beautiful in bloom!!!

I had better go get my laundry off the line before it wraps around  Janie. :)

Enjoy your day everyone..

CALLIE, it was a revisit for Cindy.  She did a "Wider Opportunity" with the Girl Scouts when she was 14.  It was designed to interest the girls in the history of OK...Indian and Settlement.  She and I walked part of the Trail of Tears and visited the Indian Village.  We watched an Indian making tools and he talked with us.  The day we were there was a slow day.  He made some suggestions as to what we should see and we tried to do it all.  My shirt says "Trail of Tears...Talaquah, Oklahoma" on two lines.

Cindy spent 3 weeks traveling with Girl Scouts from all over the country.  She loved the experience and I sometimes think her love of OK is part of the reason that my Granddaughter chose to attend college there.  And now Cindy's other daughter lives there, too and my Great Granddaughter will be born in OK....VERY SOON!

I'm going to go cook the pasta in about a half hour.  How many places am I setting?  The sauce is my version of my Italian MIL's recipe made with home canned and home frozen foods from last summer.  Now I'M getting hungry!

Surely that means a visit to Oklahoma is also "pending" for Great Grandmother.

I'm wishing you all the "Luck of the Irish", whatever that my be..Good, I hope.

Jenny, It must be very difficult for you to have to change the bandages on your hubby, and I'm proud of you for being able to do it. Medicine must run in your family. Your son is a doctor and you are being a surgical Nurse. When I look back on my life it amazes me at what I was able to do, and my mother did even more….no training, but she was called in to work at the hospital when our little town had an epidemic of some kind.

Janie, it is difficult to lose a good friend. I have none of my best friends left, and even my relatives of my age group have all died….that what I get for sticking around for 93 years.

Lloyd, don't they tell you why you have the pain and popping in your arm ?? Just giving you a shot is not enough..you deserve to know why and what is going on.

Gloria, my shoulders work O.K., but my legs are getting worse. Clogged arteries and the little auxiliary veins break so from the knee on into my foot there is this bruising and discoloration. I can walk just so far and the muscles cramp, and that is painful. Sitting down makes the pain go away, so it's easy to live with. We are tough old hens though so we enjoy what we can, and ignore the rest of it. I really liked the fractured Zen sayings…..lots of good humor there.

Larry, Your Irish jokes gave me a good laugh too. I am so happy Gary is doing my shopping for me, I need an auxiliary brain for sure, and stress can be a slow poison if it hangs onto us long enough. I'm glad I can sleep as much as I do. Sleep is relaxing and healing in physical ways too.

Callie, I  have never seen a Bradford Pear tree but I read they are in constant bloom. I will have to look it up on Google. Your daffodils and pansies sound lovely. I miss the wild violets we had on the north side of our house in Mn., and the hedges of lilacs. The aroma was so delightful.

Amy, how I envy your laundry blowing on the line…..those were another of the lovely scents that most of us can only have memories of…enjoy girl !!
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

Sorry, CALLIE, I had a short memory loss.  Courtney went to the University of Arkansas.  Ali does live in Jenks OK and that's where my GGD will be born in a couple of weeks.  And yes, I am going there to hold her and get started on the spoiling.  Mine will have to be long distance but I have no doubt that she will see pictures of me and I of her as soon as possible.

We were at Ts-La Gi.  That's where we watched and talked with the Indian or Native American, I suppose I should be saying.  It was a long time ago and my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

And now I bid you all a good night and may the saints and the leprechauns watch over you.

Good morning everyone, well yesterday when the weather folks said it night go into the teens last night they sure were right. I have 13° and on TV just heard that with the wind it feels like 6°. Wonder if ole Mama Nature thinks this is January.

LARRY  a few places here offer free rides home for those who celebrate too much on St. Patrick's day. Good jokes for yesterday, especially the last one. Thanks. Like you I heard about that lady with the dog on the plane. That Zen sarcasm was one I got from a friend the night before and I thought they were great. Glad you enjoyed them,

CALLIE  ahh the beauty of spring when trees and flowers bloom. I can look out now and see piles of dirty snow.

JANE  oh yummy, home made spaghetti sauce and noodles, too. You really had energy. Your home must have smelled wonderful but the food was even better.

AMY  that darn cancer can and will hit anyone. By now with all the experiments and knowledge out there they can do no more than cure a few of them with surgery. So sad and I am sorry for your friend. I have cooked pasta and put butter on it with a few spices and really enjoyed it.

JANE  now I know I would love your spaghetti sauce. I made sauce from tomatoes my son gave me last summer and I still have 2 containers in my freezer. Makes me want to get one out for today but cannot cook the pasta. Cannot carry the pan of water to the stove or back to the sink after it is cooked, too heavy for me to pick up now. The 90 pound weakling, that's me now.

CALLIE  GREAT LINK, I will finish checking it all out when I finish here. My heart hurts for all that the Native Americans went through.

JUNE  I think that our parents did what needed doing years ago. Not many could afford a doctor so did what they could. My Mom did some things she learned from her Native American grandmother. When I see the lilacs bloom I know spring if here. I love them and miss them here.

Have a great  day.

The bravery of winners
Nancye Sims

It really takes a special boy or girl, man or woman,
To make it to the starting line,
Or play in the game.
For to get there
They first had to defeat a host of inner foes,
More formidable than any visible opponent..
From the little voice of doubt inside them that whispered you can’t do it,
To the voices who had no faith in them.
So just to show up at the starting line,
And put yourself on the line for all to see,
Either your success or failure,
Takes incredible courage,
Incredible strength,
Incredible character,
Incredible determination,
And an incredible dream.
IT TAKES A WINNER!
What makes a winner?
Winners take chances. Losers refuse to.
Winners try to win. Losers watch others try.
Winners insist it is possible. Losers say it’s no use.
Winners challenge life. Losers challenge nothing.
Winners don’t give into fear. Losers fear everything.
Winners see only success. Losers see only failure.
Winners give the most when it’s hardest. Losers give up.
Winners vow to make it work. Losers walk away.
Winners go after what they want. Losers wait for it to show up.
Winners ask questions. Losers know everything.
Winners have goals. Losers don’t want to go anywhere.
Winners have character. Losers only care about themselves.
Winners take action. Losers just complain.
Winners give all. Losers take all.
Winners have hope. Losers feel hopeless.
Winners live by faith. Losers by fear.
Winners accept uncertainty. Losers run scared.
Winners overcome obstacles. Losers are overcome by them.
Winners have dreams. Losers dismiss them.
Winners are Champions
Because they are brave enough to try.
Because they reach for their dreams.
Because their heart is bigger than their fears.
Because the challenge is greater than the obstacles.
Because self respect is more important than failure
Because winning means more than anything,
And quitting is not in their vocabulary……

Wishing every friend a Super Sunday (gotcha, Callie)..... We are warned of possible T-storms so prayers for no hail, please.  Can't believe I am saying this out loud, but my RV has had no hail damage in the nearly 4 years I've had it... that is a record!  Poor little Rialta was hit so many times the last time the insurance considered it "totaled"... paid off & we kept it so I took dry ice on a sunny day & got almost all of the dents out except for on the top.  We had to buy a new cover for the AC on top but she didn't look bad at all when I had to let her go to get one big enough for cats.

Cas' birthday was the 15th so always time to remember the years we shared.  Hard to believe it has been 5 years.

I didn't get a chance to read (& remember what I read last night), time to dress for church now.  I will return......... be saying prayers for all in need, and always thank Him that my body will still allow me to kneel down, I am sincere about that. I don't deserve to bend this good after all the punishment I put this old body through all these years.  (Including stepping back off of a ladder recently~)

Oops, you slipped in, Gloria.  Loving your goodies, thanks so much!  ..............Shirley
