I found a few of those zzzzs on the sofa but they warned me that most of them are hiding out in the bed so I'm about to go track them down.  Still kinda tired but .... so what else is new?

Good night my friends!

Good morning everyone...
Yesterday flew by so fast on me!!Hubby cut the grass again and I did inside work after tilling the garden, plus I did the dogs nails. After lunch it was a trip to the vet to get a tick removed from our Border Collie, they gave me an instrument to remove them if we find any more, I sure hope not!! Picked up flea and tick med for both girls too. This is the first time we have had to deal with ticks.

Today we are off on a pleasure trip to the city, meeting my friend at Timmies and giving her 5 quilt tops plus I picked up bells that she can use in making cat toys. Then on to meet our daughter in love to give her books, fabric and have lunch with her.

Gloria de, I love crushed pineapple in my coleslaw and in cottage cheese too!

Jane, I too found zzz' s  in my bed at 8 pm. Just could stay awake and had enough sense to go to bed.

Lloyd, that is the distance from Boise to here. Any more new calves??

Mary Ann, great report!

Jenny, now is the time to get our wood and left it dry over the summer.  Now if they would only sell the self piling wood . ;)

Shirley ,where are you?? I am missing your posts.

Joy, sounds like a fun time ahead seeing all the little ones, hope you have good weather for that.

Gloria, the cost of trucking was almost the price of 3 cords!! I lived in the boonies and loved the peace..would go back in a heart beat.

Roley, good morning to you, waving to you from across the pond. :)

Better get a move on here..

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The doggies got me up a little before 6 a.m.  They went out and then had their pill and while we waited for the hour to elapse, I made dog food.  Now we've all had breakfast and the dishes are done and I have a chance to visit for a minute or two.

I've got the weed whacker out and my looooong extension cord and I'm going to try my hand at getting the long grass out from under the fence where the lawn mower can't go.  I've done this job before but not lately.

That and picking up Kiran are my only plans for today.  However, I did print out a cookie recipe that I'd really like to try.  If the weed whacking goes a  lot better (or a lot worse) than I'm hoping, I might give the cookies a try.

The sun is supposed to come out from hiding today and I'm looking forward to that.  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

Hi Everyone. After a somewhat rainy day yesterday we ar expecting more of the same this afternoon.  We had a very good dinner at Church last evening with Beef Stroganoff, peas and baby carrots, salad, bread and a chocolate bread pudding.  Pat decided at the last minute that she was up to going to the supper.  We then stopped at Walmart to pick up our online grocery order and didn't even need to get out of the car.  When we got home Scott and Elizabeth, who had been a dinner with us and came on out to the house, carried the groceries in to the kitchen from the car, which I really appreciated as wasn't feeling on top of the world. I have a very light schedule planned for today.

I decided not to attend coffee this morning but do have to make a quick trip to Walmart for a prescription and to pick up a couple of items that the other Walmart were out of yesterday but that we need.  Later this afternoon we plan on going to Ruby Tuesday's for our main meal of the day as they have another buy one-get one entree special and that is really hard to beat.

Lloyd, it sounds like you get pretty good and fast care at the VA, which all veterans should receive in my opinion.  You can always find out distances between cities by doing a Google search if you know the names of both towns.

Amy, it is encouraging to read that your husband was up to cutting the grass.  It is always good for us to be able we have accomplished something each day, at least that is the way I feel even it is something not very big or significant.  We didn't use to have to worry if a pet or we got a tick as they weren't dangerous as they are now with the Lyme Fever.  I hope you enjoy your pleasure trip to the city today. Pat has been putting sugar free Jello powder on our cottage cheese and it is quite good. I will suggest we try the pineapple in it as well.

deAngel, maybe June will bring you some warmer days than May has.  I also like pineapple in cold slaw and I need to remember to put some in the next time I mix some up.  That is one dish I have pretty well mastered but of course it doesn't require any actual cooking.

Jenny, fortunately the two times I have had the AC tech here there really hasn't been anything wrong with the AC with the last time a tripped breaker.  I hope you really enjoyed the piano recital.  I remember so well participating in those.  Of course, they didn't last too long as our teacher didn't have many students.

Jane, glad you were able to find those ZZZZs yesterday and hope you arose feeling rested today.

June, glad you were up to attending the Bible study yesterday.  You had a pretty busy day yesterday.  You are so fortunate to have medical care available immediately to you as you sure don't need another infection in your leg.

Roley, good morning and as always nice to see your name popup in our postings and read your message.  I hope you are doing better each day.

Jane, I hope you don't wear yourself out with the weed whacker.  Do you have to hold yours up off the ground or does it have little wheel that bear the weight of the unit?  When I was still mowing my own yard I always had to use one and the plastic cord was always getting broken.  Enjoy your time with Kiran.

roley

G'day to you too Larry and thank you for your kind wishes, pleased to say things are at last beginning to improve but still having difficulty in moving around and still having regular visits from my Doc and District Nurses, I must say that the change in our weather helps, to sit in the warm sunshine for a few hours works wonders, lol, along with the visits I get from the local wild life, Suirrels,Birds,Foxes etc all help to pass the time,  :).
I must say a big thank you too, to the many kind messages of support i have recieved over these past few months from friends 'over the pond' they all helped to bring a smile or two even on the darkest of days, thank you all.
Kind regards to all.    Roley.

Sandy

Hi MaryAnn....
Yes Fe is growing fast and changing daily...
She is so funny and a very good two year old,
(if there is such a thing)...

She is talking a blue streak now ,   and
lots of fun to be with....   Time goes by so
fast...  My six Grand Kids are almost all grown
up now,  so I appreciate the little ones and
would love to have them stay little ...
but  of course,  that is just wishful thinking ...

I am very lucky to have one Great Grand to
refresh the family line... and bring joy
to all who see them.

Sandy

Sandy, I agree with you that you are very lucky to have those grandchildren and great-grandchild to brighten your days.  While Norm's grandchildren are all adults now, there are four greats.  Unfortunately for us none of them live close.  Because Tom lives with me, I am able to see his two granddaughters occasionally - and they are joys to be around.  They live 40 miles from here.

I know we live in a dangerous world right now, but I read once (to paraphrase) that "having children born is God's way of assuring us the world will continue".  (I said "paraphrase{ because I don't remember the exact words but I'm close).

Happy to see the new photo of Fe, Sandy, she is a cutie.  My gr-grand that age looks like such a little angel (compared with her 4 year old sister, remember the "Troll Doll" with all the hair?).  The 2 year old rebelled last week when Mommy & Daddy decided to take away the pacifier because the day care decided it was time.... she had not slept the night before I saw her, a complete zombie.  Daddy was leaving for a job assignment so Mommy had to deal with the heart break of Kate.  She posted a photo of the rebellion... emptying a flower pot on the couch & dirt in Mommy's shoes sitting right below.  Thank goodness Mommy is a very calm and tender person and even saw the funny side of Kate's retaliation. I think I enjoy the great grands more than I did the grands... could be because I don't get asked to babysit these kids, have 7 of them now, (each, grands and gr-grands). Only 2 live "out of state" and they visit fairly often.

I just talked to Walmart in Salida, they do carry the oxygen canisters so will ease everyone's minds that I can have it as soon as I get to that parking lot.  I waited too long to get from Amazon, no 2 day Prime for oxygen, kids have all been on my back about not having it  on hand.  With so many of the grands doing "flight testing" they have it on hand in the planes, not sure it is used but available.  So I will also be relieved, kind of scary with the attitude my cardiologist & his nurse, so adamant about me not going & that "you can't buy oxygen without a prescription".... they are not up to date~~  Hope no problem but am thinking this will probably be my last trip like this, not that I won't drive to other mountains in other states, never say "never"..... right?  I will go until I can't.

Had the pool water looking absolutely perfect & then it rained.... rain all washes into the pool so cleans off that grass carpet around.  Not as bad as I feared but not as pretty as a few hours earlier. The pool man hasn't brought the ladder "bumpers" so still have that to put in. I am so glad that is over, hopefully for as long as I stay in this house.

Jane, my husband bought me a weed whip before he died, to use down by the river.... battery operated.  I wore that one out & bought another.  Son bought me the matching blower, drill & extra battery.... so plenty of battery power & are really easy to use.  I wouldn't have thought I'd use all as much as I do, am pleased to have them.  I discovered the ivy that grows on the brick is kept down to about 2 feet instead of letting it grow up & leave all those little ickys on the brick.... just take that weed whip and waltz down that sidewalk & it is as neat as a pin!  Makes a nice background for the flowers in front (the wall faces the street).

Amy, I'm still thinking about you getting to hear the loons.... I hear the Canada geese honking at each other with my door open, not quite the same~~  Do you use wood in a fireplace?  I haven't had a fire in mine since Cas died, I think the chimney needs to be cleaned but think that is a mess. The neighbor that used his fireplace a lot had a chimney sweep but he is gone now & I just let winter go by without doing anything again.  We had a mild winter but would like it ready just in case, next winter.  My son says "it doesn't look bad", but I'd rather be sure.

Larry, last evening I was talking to a long ago friend that lives in John Knox Village on the east side of Kansas City.... he was saying the same thing about "needing to accomplish something" but so little he needs to do living there.  I am impressed with all that place has to offer, have other friends that moved there when spouses died or just to downsize.  It is a huge complex with everything right there & so many choices of places to eat in the complex. Nothing like it where I live.

Another friend lives in a beautiful place in Springfield, MO... remember when I think I told y'all about my old cheerleading buddy being diagnosed with a terrible disease & 6 months to live?  That was nearly 2 years ago and he is still mentally sound, called last week and his voice stronger than before the diagnosis. His daughter moved him to a place that had "full health care", where we had his "wake" before he was to die.  He has had re-hab but months of thinking he had no time to live, his muscles were allowed to weaken. He is not bitter about what happened, wonderful attitude.

Oops, looks like I'd better walk the cats down to the river & feed the fish, sun going down.  Hi to all.... Gloria, was thinking about Joan sitting there going, "tsk, tsk" at Amy, Jane & moi with our "w**k", as she called it.  Loved that last one of the kid "helping cry".... I do remember that before but am so glad to have it again.... thanks!

June Drabek

I had a good day today, but come late afternoon, things just seem to get overwhelming. I am just too tired to even care for supper. Had a good nourishing lunch, so if I don't eat supper the world won't come to an end. Time to  close down for today, so I will say an early goodnight and God Bless. June.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Hi Everyone - I received a message tonight from Pat Scott Halbach. She is going in for hip surgery at 8:00 in the morning. She asked that I let everyone know. She would appreciate prayers and good wishes for her surgery and recovery. She had planned on the hip surgery at a  later date, but apparently they had an opening so this was a bit of a shock and surprise.

Shirley

Thanks for sharing the news, Beverly, prayers and good thoughts heading Pat's way.  Hopefully she will discover this is a good thing, to go earlier instead of having more time to worry & stress.  Nice to see you post, hope life is good for you.

Denver

I will certainly be holding very positive thoughts and saying lots of prayers for our Pat as she has her hip surgery tomorrow.  Thank you, Beverly for letting us know.

SHIRLEY, good to read that the Walmart does sell the oxygen tanks and you can get set up on your arrival in Salida.

LARRY, we did enjoy the recital last evening.  There were three groups of children playing, 5, 6 and 7PM.  The 7 PM one went until 8:40 and there were 23 children playing.  The teacher does this full time and he is very well thought of.

My battery is about to un out, so I had best say goodnight and pleasant dreams to all.

Good morning everyone..

Prayers for Pat and prayers for a speedy recovery as well.

Yesterday was a fun day, meeting with a friend then daughter in love. We had lunch at Swiss Chalet and enjoyed a good meal. Our load of wood came last evening and I piled some but lots left to go.

Sandy, beautiful photo of Fe, they grow up so fast!

Shirley, we have a wood cookstove that heats our home plus I cook off it too. Love the wood heat. Happy to read you have your pool finished and now can sit back and enjoy it.

Larry, it is good for one to work  or just putter at something .I can't imagine not doing anything . My friend gave me a bag of scrap fabric and it was like Christmas for me. Lots of ideas when I saw each piece.

Roley, hope you are having a great day..

Jane have a great day at work.

I had better go pile wood........wonder if they sell self piling wood???

Hi Everyone.  Our morning has started off with rain and it still continues.  We are expecting more late this afternoon with only a small percentage chance until then.  I arose early this morning and realizing I wasn't going to go back to sleep I decided to get up and get busy.  One of the things I did was peel the three peaches we have had ripening on the counter for several days.  I split them with Pat and she will have them with her breakfast.  They were so juicy that I ate mine over the sink.  These South Carolina peaches are really, really good.

We did go to Ruby Tuesdays yesterday afternoon as we had planned for a delicious meal.  Today should be a quiet day and may just stay home all day.  I may make a quick trip to Dollar Tree to see about getting one of those chains that go around your neck that your glasses attach to.  I am constantly having to take my reading glasses out of my pocket and putting them back in my pocket.  If they don't have what I want I will go into the Walmart Pharmacy area at the front of the store and see what they have.

Roley, good news that you are beginning to improve.  You must have a good observation point to be able to see the wild life in your area.  I think it is pretty unheard of for a doctor to make a house call here anymore. We do have nurses that make house calls as I am sure you know.

Sandy, Fe has  a nice smile and a beautiful face. I love to watch the little ones at Church and when we are out as they are so uninhibited and are discovering the world around them.

Mary Ann, I expect every generation has found the world difficult but the world goes on.  Children are certainly God's gift to us even when they make our life very interesting and sometimes very difficult.

Shirley, what a great story of the two year old.  It sure make me chuckle as I visualized her emptying the flower pot into her mothers shoes.  I am glad her mother take that all in stride and she will have a great story to tell in the future.  You are so fortunate to be able to see your great grands.  I have seen ours in person only a very few times and then that was for a short time.  Fortunately we do get pictures and I have maintained an email relationship with their father even though he and our granddaughter are divorced.  I do not have the oxygen canisters but only the oxygen concentrater by my bed.  When the tech brought it out he brought in a canisters but I told him I wasn't at a point I needed that as a backup.  Glad your pool is almost finished and you are pleased with it.  This house doesns't have a chimney as our fireplace is electric so no mess.  We didn't even have it on this last winter and really never use it.  Unfortuantely it doesn't generate any heat.  I know where John Knox Village is and have driven by it many times when I lived in Raytown, near Kansas City.  I haven't thought of that place for a long time.  I am hoping that when I am gone Pat will be able to move to a very nice place to live like John Knox.  Sure glad your friend is still around.  Those predictions the doctor's make sometimes are really off the mark and glad that was the case with him.

June, you need to eat to keep your strength up.  Glad you had a good day yesterday before you became so tired.

Beverly, thanks again for posting about Pat's surgery.  Let's all keep her in our prayers and thoughts during these next weeks as she goes through recover.  I expect she is in surgery right now if they got started on time as it is currently 8:25 here in Eastern time. I know she has had a very long and painful wait for this day to arrive.

Jenny, it sounds like your grand kids have a well qualified and good piano teacher. I bet by 8:40 you all were ready to have the recitals over as that is a long time.

Jane, hope you have good lines and smiling people today at Walmart.

Amy, you must be among the few people who still use a wood cook stove. Do you also have an electric or gas stove?  You sounds like my Pat with the scraps.  Those scrap pieces seem to be endless and I often wonder when, if ever, she is going to get to the other fabric she has that isn't scrap.

Gloria, I used to always want the TV on or be listening to music.  In this last year I have come to really enjoy the quiet. Fortunately, with the earphones we have for the TV Pat can have the TV on and it is still quiet in the room or I can have it on when she is listening to an audio book, which she does a lot and it is quiet for her. Sure hope today finds you feeling much better.  All we need is a tick that carries another disease.

Gloria

We have heard on the news about those who oppose everything President Trump does and how he want to deport all the illegals in our country. He is not the first president to do this. I came across this checking out the stories I have saved over the years. Bo idea where I got it from.

                  THREE PRESIDENTS

Where are the MEN in Washington these days?

Did you know this? the secret Word is ILLEGAL
What did Presidents Hoover
Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to
American citizens that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for Returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean War veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now, if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could surely do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Why, you might ask, can't they do this today? Actually the answer is quite simple. Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not
untrustworthy politicians looking for votes!

Reminder: Don't forget to pay your taxes - 12 to 20 million illegal
aliens â€" are depending on it.

When I visited my daughter in San Diego we could see wetbacks waling down the street. They lived only 7 miles from the border. The fire that was the closest ever to their home  and they had ti evacuate was started by 2 wetbacks starting a fire in the desert to get warm and it got away from them. After the fire was out and they looked for the source of it they found the 2 bodies burned to death.

Good Morning Everyone,
from the sunny and warm, and dry
(forcast for today is HOT)
rocky coast of Maine.

Shirley,  I feel really bad for that poor
little gal i who is being forced to give
up her pacifier ....

Somehow it doesn't seem fair that the
child care facility has the right to take
it away from her.

The pacifier is a habit,  and we as adults
know how difficult it is to give
something up that we love!

I wonder why she can't be convinced
to have her pacifier at home in her
own bed only,  but away at nap time
at the baby sitters,  is no longer an option.

I gave up cigarettes and alcohol
both but on my own time when
I decided to do it.   As an adult
giving up both of them was a
true test of my quest of freedom
unhealthy addictions.

And it was very very hard,  so
I can imagine just how difficult
it is to do for a child
( to be forced to give up something
that they love).
:'( :'(

I hope that the little girl can get
through this time with out rebelling
too much,  for too long.

I noticed just  how having a new
baby in the family seemed to change
he dynamics of the family
(and for the better!!   lol) ...
As it should be.

I live in a border State...
Maine shares our border
with Canada, New Hampshire and
the Great Atlantic Ocean...
We have  Miles and miles of
shared borders.

The politics of our illegal immigrant
problems goes on and on and I don't
share my opinion of it.

I just keep in mind that the only
non immigrants in this country are
(Native Americans)  who are also
treated very badly....

So I guess that it doesn't much matter
what you are.  :idiot2:

Have a good weekend everyone.
Thank  you so much for the nice
compliments about Fe...

Life is good.

Pat Scott,  please take care and
get thru this operation and I hope
that you are feeling  better
very very soon..  HUGS!

Have a good day,   Everyone!

Sandy

June:  I am glad to hear that you are mending.  Take it easy.

Shirley:  Have a safe trip up the hill.  There is traffic gridlock here now - it is downright horrible to get across or around town.

Gloria:  When you say Illegal, we know what that is from living closer to the southern border 7 months per year.  It is not only people from Mexico and Central America - there are many from mid-east countries who go first to those areas, change their names & learn Spanish only to come across the border - legally and illegally.  One of the great danger is from the campfires that get out of control and cause damage and loss of cattle, even farms. There is so much more the American public has no idea.  We know some families who came from Mexico - great and gracious folks.  Canada has to  put up with the illegals from our country crossing their border.  It is a law and some enforce the law and others let it slide.

We knew a family across the street once - their youngest was drinking from a baby bottle and she was in kindergarten with one of our children.  I think the child figured out she was the only one that age -

Sandy:  I agree about the day-care - who are they to set down a rule so traumatic to a child?  The little girl would change just by seeing what is happening with all the others.  That would have been better.

I have a physical this afternoon with my doctor.  It is free because the clinic changed to a new insurance only that does not cover anyone going out of the state.  I must change my insurance and will lose her as my primary care doctor.  Just dread finding someone else.  Jenny knows what I mean because the same thing happened to her with the same physicians group.  She (doc) graciously said she wanted me to come in and have my physical at no cost.  That is my great and good news today.  Don made a pen for her to have as a going away gift.  At least I will have my prescriptions renewed.

Amy:  You could train a beaver to cut and stack wood.

Beautiful sunny day 3 in a row.

Beverly, thanks you for posting about Pat. will keep her in my prays.

Shirley, I am surprised you can just buy oxygen. I just bought that 2lb one they show on TV and in magazines.  I had to get a prescription from the pulmonary doctor. The portable one I have now weighs 9 lbs. to heavy for me

Larry, I have not seen peaches in the store, I am waiting for our LI strawberries

Sandy, Kate's grandmother & great grandmother both went to bat to let her keep the pacifier for her own comfort in her own bed.. but she has a strong willed mother that always "does what she has to"....... and you know, these young mothers are convinced the people they deal with daily are always wiser than "us old folks".  I felt like crying to know how heart broken she was & have not heard how it goes now.  They are all visiting her gr-parents in St.Louis and Grammy has turned that house into a child's dream. Besides, the cousins from Seattle & unmarried aunt & uncle will also be around to spoil her/them.  What a week of fun they will all have.  Thanks for the tender thoughts, I agree 100%.

Carol, Wichita is the same, nary a "cross town" street without the orange cones,  looks to me like it would cost less & be more efficient if the road crews put ALL their efforts in finishing one job before blocking off a dozen more.

Larry, I do appreciate being able to see these little ones, but keep in mind, just about every ornery deed gets blamed on "Great Grammy".  They do carry my genes.  ;)  No place nearly as nice as John Knox here, nice ones but not as many choices.

Amy, my grandmother still cooked on a wood stove until she moved into a retirement home..... it was fairly new & my mother would have loved to have had it but no place to put it.  Had the neat warming oven & kept the room so warm.  She also had a yellow & green stove that burned kerosene, (I think), that she used a lot, especially in the summer.  The house had a summer kitchen that you walked into from outside, then the kitchen with walk in pantry & yellow & green stove & can't remember what else.  The dining room had a huge hutch with carved "cake stand" & candle holders, long table & the wood stove.  My grandparents had the house built with most lumber (walnut & oak) from the farm my gr-mother inherited from her grandparents.  Dad would always comment that "the main big beams were "Ponderosa pine", not from the farm & very expensive at that time.  All of the overhead beams across every doorway were full slabs of walnut (can you imagine what that would cost now?).  It sold 3 times in just a few years and the last person has not taken care of it at all, so sad. The whole little town is on the "Nat'l Historic Reg".....this house included.

Gloria, my sons will appreciate the Three Presidents... for sure, thanks.

Gloria De.... you can buy online as well, Google it... and guess in the mountains it is needed so often Walmart carries without a prescription, at least that's what I was told yesterday.

I've run out of morning so better get busy.  Was hoping news that Pat is out of surgery but  expect everyone is busy taking care of her.

I'm home.  I'm tired and I'm having a bad day so I'm going to follow my mother's advice.  Since I can't say something nice, I'm not saying anything.
