Hi Everyone. It is another cloudy morning and we have a good chance of rain this afternoon.  We expect to get only into the low 80's today.  This is the day for our Senior Luncheon at Church.  We have a speaker today who is one of the weather persons on TV.  Pat doesn't plan to attend but I am going and will come home via the Produce Market to pick up some more of the delicous sweet corn.  I have nothing else planned for today,  Yesterday I did call the Insurance company and put Scott on our policy for the PT Cruiser.  We did get the AC fixed on it yesterday to the tune of over $325.  However, still cheaper to do occasional repairs than to buy a different car and this is the most solid car I have ever owned.  It is really too bad they have quit making them.

Jenny, are your grands anxious for their summer break from school?  It sounds like you all will be busy attending recitals and other special events.  I am sure your help in getting the grand kids to places they need to go is appreciated.  I haven't tried the going back to the previous page method on the iPad although it should work if you haven't close the tab that had the message.  I also seem to be getting forgetful in not hitting the posting button on some of my attempted postings.

Joy, sorry you are not feeling well.  Even though one has to wait sometimes at the Urgent Care facility at least you will eventually be seen.  At least your problems were addressed.  Glad you were feeling better yesterday and I hope you are even better today.  Rest seems to be a great "medicine".  I did have a good day yesterday and got done all of the things I had on my list, which didn't involve much that required physical effort so they weren't tiring items.

Amy, you are getting your wood in early this year.  I guess this is the time of the year to stock up.  Like you I wonder what chili carrots were but forgot to ask Jane yesterday.  I really am not a fan of strawberries but Pat sure is and has them almost every morning, either fresh or frozen, all year round.

Jane, hope you have a super line of customers today and with carts that are not overloaded.  I will have to ask Pat to see if Walmart carries the chili carrots as they do sound good.  Stay out of the mud puddles!  :)

Good morning everyone 61° with rain coming later and near 80 the end of the week. Yesterday was just about a perfect  spring day. I spent most of the day outside. No sunshine this morning. I can hardly move this morning so will just go lay on the couch and wait for my CNA. Have a great day.

Gloria I am not bragging but we are ahead of on temp is 80º here now. @12:28 PM. ? for AMY how far is Boise Idaho to you , hours or miles. wish everyone a great day.

Amy

Gosh, the day is slipping away fast! Took neighbour to pick up his truck and stopped to order wood, new owner, new price and they don't deliver like the other one did.
Stuffed the chicken breast and wrapped it in bacon and have the vegetables ready to cook.

Lloyd we are 2339 miles from you.

Gloria, I hope you feel better. Still raining here and rather damp so I think a fire will soon go on or we will give the oil a boost.

Amy:  I hope you can get a better price on the wood and have it delivered  and stacked as well.  Quilt group is coming here tonight - 7 out of the 9.

Gloria:  R & R --- rest and recuperate.  I hope today is better for you.

Joy:  Sorry for your diagnosis but so glad that meds will cure you.

June:  you always write such positive notes  - I think it is getting so overcrowded that is changing manners.  Even school children are not taught the simple things of yesterday - sit down and don't talk - behave - say Thank You.  etc.

Jenny:  Don is going to make a pen for Dr. B.  - I had an appointment there today for a blood draw but had to go to a different site because of my other insurance - total time was about 4 hours of waiting in two offices.  Happy it is over.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate her going beyond care for me.

DON:   HAPPY LANDING!!!!

Bubble:  Take care -we all wish you wonderful days with your family.

Yesterday was a big flub. I baked two loaves of banana bread only to find them collapsed & weird.  Apparently, I must have turned the oven off when I set the time.   :crazy2:  The treats for tonight are from Safeway bakery and look pretty good.  Sun tea is ready - I make mine on the southern part of the deck - just like I learned in Texas.

When checking into one lab this morning, a machine did all the work.  there goes another job.  Don has been using machines somewhat like this at the VA for quite some time.  This one printed out instructions for me.  And, I like to talk to a human.

Oldest son has a 'walking pneumonia diagnosis.   He has three days of checking - he lives at high altitude and we have been concerned.  No plane trips until this is over.

Jenny:  I was going to say that the doctors in Steamboat are really taking good care of him - they phone him to check and have him coming in for 3 days in a row.  They even call and make the appointments so he gets priority.  Some comfort in that for us.

Here I am in hopes I do not lose this message. I can sure feel a change in the way I fail it my touch typing. It used to be such a normal thing to do, now I have to go back and correct my errors. But this life with all of you is worth the bother of re-doing things.

This has been a very strange day for me. Started out just fine, but seemed to fall apart. I did get all my prayers done, breakfast eaten, then lay down to do my stretching exercise that seems to help heal my back, and fell sound asleep for about three hours. So I will skip lunch today and go down for an early supper I had a big bowl of rice krispies with a sliced banana for breakfast, so that took care of lunch O.K.

We are having another overcast day, 70 for a high. I am not complaining, and will go for a walk when I leave here.

Gloria, have there been any repercussions from the Witch since that meeting you had? I am hoping things will improve there since she knows the residents DO have some power to complain.
I'm sorry you are having a bad day physically...me too. I don't know if I am coming or going. No pain though thank God.I have both extra strength Tylenol and a bottle of Ibuprophen, and never hesitate to use them when necessary.A Nurse at Loma Linda hospital told me we cannot heal properly if we are fighting pain.

Guess that's all I have to say at the moment, so I will put on a light jacket and go take a walk. Be happy my beloved  friends.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Just getting around to posting.  I was here early and just now read the messages since I was here.

I am feeling better this afternoon, but have had several naps.  Since I have not been sleeping well, I knew that would happen.

Since I don't usually take much medicine,  I am not used to taking so much now.  I have 2 RX's to take and I had to write a schedule as to when to take what.

I don't like taking a lot of medicine.  Hopefully they will do the trick.

I sure want to feel better by the weekend, as my grand daughter and her family will be here.  My grandson, who lives not too far from me,  will be having a family cook-out on Sunday.  And, I have some salads to make.  I just don't like bought salads.  We did have a good place that had delicious coleslaw, but they closed up a while back.  We also will be getting steamed crabs as  my grand daughter can't get them up in Connecticut, where they live. She is originally from Maryland and really misses her steamed crabs.  It will be a nice treat for them all.

It is getting close to supper time, and I am not very hungry.  But, I will have to eat something so I can take my medicine.

Hope everyone will have a great evening.

I had a nice walk, the joined the group for balance and mobility. Had a good work-out, which we all need. Came home to plop down and read, when my cell phone rang...my Gary calling just to see if I was O.K. He won't be here for Bible study tomorrow as he has to take a test to maintain his rating with the police dept. He is one busy man for sure.

I will be going down for an early supper since my day was so mixed up, then home to just relax. I am feeling my age tonight. If I don't get back later have a peaceful night. God is watching over us, thanks be to God.

Good evening.  Beautiful day here with a nice rain this afternoon.

CAROL, sorry to read that your son has pneumonia, but nice to read that he is being well taken care of by the doctor in Steamboat.  I know you have to be concerned about him.  Are you telling us that a machine took your blood?  If so, that is the first I have ever heard of that.  The phlebotomist has enough trouble hitting the veins, how can a machine possibly do it?  I guess you are probably saying a machine checked you in? Opps, regarding the banana bread🤣

JOY, I hope you feel much better tomorrow so you can start your plan for the family get together this weekend.

JUNE, sorry your Gary won’t be there this week either....I know you will miss not seeing him.

AMY, you sure did not get very good news about your wood purchase.
Is there someone else you can buy from?  No hail here yet, but they got a lot up north of Denver.  It looked like a foot of snow on the ground.

GLORIA, happy to read you were able to be out side and get some fresh air yesterday.  Feel better.

LARRY, that A/C repair is a bit on the high side of what I would think it should be!  Everything is getting so expensive these days.  Yes, the kids are looking forward to summer vacation.....they have a lot of things planned so they will not be bored!

Enjoy the rest of your evening.....pleasant dreams to all.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning everyone 53°. Local news weather shows it pouring in the southern part of the state and it is dry here but rain will get here soon. Supposed to get into the 70's this afternoon. This rain and damp weather is doing a job on my back. Yesterday I stayed on the couch most of the day, even when my CNA was here. Something else I seldom do I took a couple of asprin inbetween my pain pill times. Nothing helped much, even the back massage the CNA gave me.

LLOYD  if we get into the 80's here the humidity will climb with it.

AMY  my daughter keeps wanting me to move t o Arizona, they have an ex tra bedroom that  would be mine but I cannot seeing me living that far out in the boonies. If they do not deliver the wood how would you get it home? Would cost you to hire someone with a truck to haul it for you. I know here they always deliver wood. Younger son has a wood stove he uses in the coldest days in winter other wise he uses the furnace.

CAROL  this morning is better than yesterday and the pain is something I am used to living with by now but yesterday was one of the worse ones. I think a lot of the problems with the kids today is that parents do not teach them manners like we were taught and we taught our kids. Sad. When my daughter worked a a school she said she couold tell the ones who were taught at home and those who were more neglected or raised by baby sitters.

JUNE  the lady who had the meeting said she will be back in 6 months. Who knos if anything will change. She did ask a few for t heir apartment number and their phone numbers. Some of the complaints seemed to surprise her. More  than half the residents had complaints.

JOY  like you I dislike meds.  The NP I see had d ropped 2 of he ones I had taken for years. Will see how it works when I see her again in July af ter visiting the vampire. Hope you feel well for the family gat hering this week end.

GLORIA de  one of my CNAs was in the hospital with double pneumonia. Yesterday was her first dayback and one of the residents here had pneumonia.  Even with the shots they have for it now do not seem to work for some people.

JENNY  I am just stubborn enough to get outside most days. Yesterday was one of the few days I did nothin but lay on the couch and watch TV.

Have a good day.

Do not know where I got this one but worth sharing. Has pictures with it but  cannot  post them here.

BEAUTIFUL STORY
This is the kind of story you need when it seems like the world is spiraling out of control....
Not many people get a picture of this proud bird
snuggled up next to them

Freedom and Jeff
Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer.
She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken
wings. Her left wing doesn't open all the way
even after surgery, it was broken in 4
places.   She's my baby.

When Freedom came in she could not stand
and both wings were broken. She was
emaciated and covered in lice. We made the
decision to give her a chance at life, so I took
her to the vets office.   From then
on, I was always around her. We had her in a
huge dog carrier with the top off,  and it
was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to
lay in.  I used to sit and talk to her,
urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay
there looking at me with those big brown eyes.
We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still
couldn't stand. It got to the point where the
decision was made to euthanize her if she
couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't
want to cross that line between torture and
rehab, and it looked like death was
winning.   She was going to be put
down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in
on that Thursday afternoon. I didn't want to go
to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't
bear the thought of her being euthanized;
but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone
was grinning from ear to ear.  I went
immediately back to her cage; and there she was,
standing on her own, a big beautiful
eagle.  She was ready to live..  I was
just about in tears by then.   That
was a very good day.

We knew she could never fly,  so the director
asked me to glove train her. I got her used to
the glove, and then to jesses,  and we
started doing education programs for schools in
western Washington
.   We wound up in the newspapers,
radio (believe it or not) and some
TV.   Miracle Pets even did a show
about us.

In the spring of 2000,  I was diagnosed with
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.  I had stage 3,
which is not good (one major organ plus
everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of
chemo.   Lost the hair - the whole
bit.   I missed a lot of work. When I
felt good enough,   I would go to Sarvey
and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would
also come to me in my dreams and help me fight
the cancer.. This happened time and time again.

Fast forward to November 2000, the day after
Thanksgiving.   I went in for my last
checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not
all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last
option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they
did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for
the results.  I went in Monday, and I was
told that all the cancer was gone.

So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and
take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty
and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her
up, and we went out front to the top of the
hill.   I hadn't said a word to
Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me
and wrapped both her wings around me to where I
could feel them pressing in on my back
(I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she
touched my nose with her beak and stared into my
eyes, and we just stood there like that
for I don't know how long.  That was a
magic moment.  We have been soul mates ever
since she came in.  This is a very special bird.

On a side note:   I have had people who
were sick come up to us when we are out, and
Freedom has some kind of hold on
them.   I once had a guy who was
terminal come up to us and I let him hold
her.  His knees just about buckled and he
swore he could feel her power coarse through his
body. I have so many stories like that.

I never forget the honor I have of being so close
to such a magnificent spirit as
Freedom.

Hope you  enjoy this.

Jeff

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm running late this morning.  I had things that needed attention and I have to go to work at 9:30.  Wish me smiles!

It's raining here.(isn't it always!).  The grass is as high as an "elephant's eye and it looks like it's climbing right up to the sky".  And this isn't even Oklahoma.

I got out my edger a few days ago but it's electric and it's so wet I haven't even taken it out of the bag.  I'm afraid to.

I hope you all have a great day and those who were feeling bad are feeling better!

Good morning.  Pretty sunny morning and it is supposed to be up in the low 80's today with low humidity.

I will say good morning to all the early friends........Jane, Amy and Gloria, plus all the others who will join in later.

Thank you, Gloria.  I do think I feel a little better this morning.  Slept pretty good.  But, not much energy right now.

I am so looking forward to the week end.  They are calling for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon.  We could move indoors, if need be.  The cook-out is to be at my grandson's house.  My grand daughter, who is coming down from Connecticut, has a little  girl who is 17 months old and she will be meeting 7 of her cousins for the first time. I am so anxious to see all these little ones together.  Most of them are girls, So , they all should have a good time together.

Have some things I should do this morning that I have let go for a few days.

Hope everyone will have a super day.

Hi Everyone.  We are suppose to have occasional rain showers or thunderstorms throughout today and tonight but it will get only to 79 degrees. We experienced the same type of weather yesterday.  I plan on staying close to home until late this afternoon when I will go to the Church for our next to last Wednesday night dinner.

I did attend the Senior (Prime Time) luncheon yesterday at noon.  There was a small attendance as the mother of one of the very active Church members passed away on Saturday night and the service was yesterday in another town.  Apparently quite a few of the folks who normally attend went to the funeral to support support Laura and her family.  We had a nice program presented by a young lady who is working at her first TV weather job as the weekend morning broadcaster.  She had some slides and told us a bit about what is involved in forecasting the weather and presenting it on the air.  The meal that followed wasn't one of my favorite as it was an Italian Pasta Salad.  I did not feel well all afternoon and laid down about 7 pm and then actually went to bed around 9 pm.

Gloria, sorry that you had such a tough day on Monday but was happy to read that you were feeling a little better.  Glad you could enjoy some of the perfect spring day outside.  Your temperature is probably going to be warmer than ours today.  That was a "Beautiful Story" your shared today.

Jane, hope you got many smiles in your line today.

Amy, I fail to see how someone selling wood could stay in business if they didn't deliver their product.  But I see you found a different supplier who does deliver and for a lesser price.

Carol, one of our Kaiser referral doctors used the machine check-in for awhile but they didn't keep it too long.  You still have to be called to the window to make your co-payments.  However, you could put your driver's license and insurance card into the machine to copy them and that would have saved clerical staff sometime.

Lloyd, I hope your leg will allow you and Nancy to make your trip to Idaho.  This should be a beautiful time to visit Boise.  Will you be flying or driving?

June, is your son the Chaplain for the police force in his town?  Hope you had a good supper downstairs yesterday evening.

Joy, you are a very fortunate person not having to take much medicine on a regular basis.  I take a lot of different heart medications plus calcium and Vit. B complex so have a handful morning and night to take.   I have found that antibiotics makes me more tired than normal while I am taking them.  I hope you will be feeling a lot better so you can enjoy the family get together on Sunday.  A 17 month old should keep everyone entertained.

deAngel, I always liked the KFC coleslaw.  I just like coleslaw unless it is too dry and the dressing has no taste.  I also like raw cabbage and will sometimes have a chunk of it with my noon meal.

Jenny, what was discouraging about the AC repair is that I spent over $400 last year for repair.  My son said he had to turn the AC up as it was doing such a good job he was cold in the car.

Amy, if we didn't have all of these doctor appointments and tests most of us might not have too active a social life.  At least it gets us out of the house.  Hope you get your garden tilled.  I remember that being done with the large garden that my mother had on the farm but dad could do it with the plow and disk on the tractor before the garden was planted.  After that the work was manual labor.

GLORIA, I know your daughter would love for you to move to AZ with her so she and you could spend some precious time together.  You have not mentioned the witch.....does there seem to be any changes with her since the meeting?  I am happy you can get outside and soak up some fresh air and sunshine....it is good for you mentally and physically, of course.

Tonight we go to our grands piano recital.....still do not know if we are needed to get anyone there or if we will just be spectators.

I am back from Bible study, we had pastor John teaching us instead of our former Pastor, but he and his wife were both in attendance. I over heard that his sight is too poor to lead things anymore. Sad.  It was a great class though. We are so Blessed here

It will soon be time to head down for lunch, and then I will have my monthly appt. with my medical doctor......always crowded when she comes once a month. By the time I leave her I will be ready for bed and book. My back still hurts from last months fall. I'm just so thankful that I can still get around as well as I do. I better quit gabbing and get down for lunch. Hope to see you all later. June

We're enjoying a lovely day here today with the temperature in the high 70s.  I just spent a half hour sitting on my deck with the cat.  There was more sun than I needed, but I had my back to it and it wasn't too warm.

This morning I had an appointment with my cardiologist and I had not seen him for four years; I had been to his office every six months and saw his PA or NP, however.  Last month I had a blood draw  and today the nurse took my blood pressure and I had an EKG.  Everything was fine and the doctor told me to return in a year.  I may be in better shape than I have thought I was.  I am feeling good about the visit and I am well aware that anything could happen in the meantime.

Other than her aches from arthritis in various areas, Dot is getting along fine.  She drives yet and is part of two groups at church.  Her family keeps her busy too because she has two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter who live near here and she sees them often.

Mary Ann, Congratulations on your doctors visit. It really does give us great Joy when they find nothing wrong, and you are free for a whole year. YAY !!!

I saw my doctor today too...got some questions answered, got scolded for treating a cut on my leg instead of letting our girls in the clinic care for it last  night......no charge when they do that stuff. But it happened when i was all ready for bed and I didn't want to get dressed again. I have been ordered to have the nurses check it on Friday and I am to keep it dry for 7 days.

It's going to be an early bed time for me since I missed my usual afternoon nap.I'm boiling some eggs.....due to use date.....so that will be supper, plus left overs.
Have a good night my beloved  Cyber family. Much Love. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June, I'm sorry you cut your leg and I hope it heals soon, especially with professional help.
