Late one night a burglar broke into a house and while he was sneaking around he heard a voice say, "Jesús is watching you."
He looked around and saw nothing.
He kept on creeping and again heard, "Jesús is watching you."
In a dark corner, he saw a cage with a parrot inside.
The burglar asked the parrot, "Was it you who said Jesús is watching me" ?
The parrot replied, "Yes."
Relieved, the burglar asked, "What is your name?"
The parrot said, "Clarence."
The burglar said, "That's a stupid name for a parrot. What idiot named you Clarence?"
The parrot answered, "The same idiot that named the rottweiler Jesús.

BUBBLE  thanks for a new room for this week. Cute joke.

Good morning everyone, went to bed around 10:30 and fell asleep fast. Woke with a start from a bad dream, or maybe a nightmare. I hardly ever dream or if I do I never remember any. I got rid of my husband but he haunts me at times. All I remember is he was in that nightmare. That alone was enough to wake me, it is a wonder I did not scream and wake my neighbor. So here I am with my first cup of coffee.
I heard on TV yesterday that we are to get a 2% raise in SS next year. About time we get a decent one. The raise this year amounted to nothing. Get a couple of dollars more and rent took half of it for an increase.

HAL  your wife should pay the fine, it was her that made you late and had to rush. In all the years I drove I never got a ticket.

LARRY  we started yesterday with some light rain and the day ended with sun and increased humidity. My AC is running again. After getting fresh picked apples thanks to my son I just cannot enjoy one from a market. I will check out that advanced System Care, thanks.

JOAN  glad your family brings you a good breakfast so much. I am getting spoiled from both of mine lately. Got more apples from oldest and a large container of applesauce he made. Like me he only adds some cinnamon to it, no sugar. Second son brought me some perogies he and his wife made. Soo good and a lot of work to make, lots of pans to wash after.

JOY  we are supposed to get into the upper 70's today. Glad my AC is still set up. Like you I like gift certificates and some I can use to order online. I have not been into a store in more than 2 years.

GLORIA de  I had to turn my hear up a couple of days ago when it got down to the freezing point overnight and now the AC is running again. The Macs my son brought the other day were not the early ones like we are so used to. The orchard where he went had some later Macs that taste even better. After macs I like Empire apples. Taste similar to a Mac but do not get soft like Macs do.

AMY  a cool rainy day is always a good time for home made soup of chili.

JANE  I had a day yesterday where nothing seemed to go right for me.

SHIRLEY  it is either at some point in life we cannot get away because the kids are getting older and want to stay home and that I could not do even thought they never got into any trouble or cannot leave pets home to fend for themselves.

JENNY  wish I could get to Boston to meet you. I would never be able to ride that far anymore and it really is not that far.

Good morning Everyfriend!  We're waiting out the doggies pills but I just heard the coffee pot finish and I'm going to go get some.  I'll be right back!

Ah!  That's good!  Anyone want to join me in a fresh, hot cup of coffee?

We don't have an 8 am church service today because the Bishop is going to be here so we have our regular 10 am service with the Bishop presiding and another at 4 pm which will be the installation service for our new Rector.  She's been here since the beginning of July but now she will be official.  There will be a reception after that service for the Biship and a welcome for our new Rector.  Big doings!

Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

Good morning everyone..

Went to bed with the sound of the rain and woke to it also..

A day of rest here....just may get the last two rows on the camp quilt done today .Not sure what I will start next.

Bubble, thank you for the new start page and morning laugh!!!

Gloria, even though the dogs let me sleep in a bit they did get me up. One doesn't like the other being close to me so she wedges herself in between us.

Jane, wish I could have coffee but will be content to have my cup of tea with you..

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I do believe I can hear the front blowing in, but so far no rain, dead burn it.  I was hoping for at least a shower.  Front not suppose to lower temps very much but just cool thing off for a day or two.

Gloria, it all comes out of the same pot.  So it doesn't matter who pays what.  Sounds like you are fixed for apples for awhile.  My Granddad used to wrap apples with newpaper and put them under the bed to "mellow".  Especially around Christmastime.  In those days families didn't have much cash money so ribbon candy, fruit and pies and cakes had to do.  And do they did.  I wish I could taste once more some of those goodies.

Janie, would enjoy the coffee but got to get myself presentable for church.  Fixing to go in and wake the wife when I turn the light on in the bathroom.  That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Bubble I join in with the others for you efforts in start a new page.  Thank you.  Hope your day goes well.

Got to get a move on.

Hi Everyone.  This morning is starting out foggy but it is to be sunny and in the mid-80's this afternoon.  I do plan on going to Sunday School and Church although am going to have to push to find the energy.  I think I overdid a bit yesterday morning as was exhausted by the time I got home and was tired the rest of the day.  Pat is not going with me this morning as the other side of her back, from the one that gave her so much grief, is now starting to do just what the other side did.  She said the thought of having to sit for two hours in the chairs in the Sunday School room and then in the pews isn't appealing to her this morning.

Joan, warm donuts sure sound good.  I can't remember when I last had a nice fresh and warm donut.

Joy, I agree with you that some websites are difficult to find all of the pertinent information.  Perhaps by making the standard mailing option sort of hidden they make more money on the mailing.  Hope you were able to get to the produce market and use your gift certificate.  I like the ones that I can use online.

Gloria, it sounds like your blood must be pretty thin to have such a long nose bleed.  I have taken Plavix in the past but not for quite a few years now.

Amy, it is nice to read where you can have an awesome day.  We sure could use some of your rain.

Jenny, I hope you all have a good trip to Boston.  It is good to go before any winter weather problems set in for the NE.

Bubble, thanks for getting us started for this new week.

Gloria, you gave me a chuckle with your dream description although it sounds like it didn't leave you chuckling.  I have never had a perogie as obviously wasn't a Midwest thing as I was growing up. I have never cared for soft or mellow apples.

Jane, it sounds like you will have a busy Church day.  Our District Superintendent was at our service last Sunday and the pastor mentioned that fact but didn't introduce him.  They were having a Charge Conference right after the service and I think that is to install new officers for the coming year. I must admit I don't really understand all the structure of the Methodist Church.

Hal and Callie, I just checked and see that Oklahoma beat Texas in the Red River Shootout in college football yesterday.  I didn't watch much football yesterday.  However, I was happy to see that South Carolina and Georgia were winners.

Good Morning, Everyfriend,

Bubble,  thanks for the cute Grumpy Witch.

Larry,  Oklahoma just barely beat Texas!!!  It was literally down to the last seconds.
The OKState/Baylor game was on at the same time and I watched both games via split screen.   OSU had no trouble beating Baylor.

Finally feels like Fall here.

Off to church and OTL - if anyone wants to go.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Love your witch, Bubble, kinda how I felt this morning with 4 hours sleep.  Cute joke, I did guess where it was going!   :2funny:

Since I woke at 4:00 am & got up because I was afraid to go back to sleep, when I do that it's usually a 9:30 wake up next time & that isn't an option on Sunday.

Today my daughter is in town to baby sit 3 of her grands.  She forgot how much trouble it is to get 3 kids fed, dressed & where they are supposed to be every morning.   ::)  She drove in on Tuesday & began the "routine" next day & exhausted today, goes home early in the morning.

Cool start to the day, sunshine, so hope to get the topper for the skylight on.  Next to gas up the elephant & start packing for the next trip.  Takes me a week to organize, get the freezer & frig cold enough to fill, wash bugs off the windshield from last trip & so on.  Too early for trees to be changing in MO and I do have to get back for a routine appointment with the Cardio so another quick trip.  I've been busy washing sheets & towels from the last trip so now I need to decide what to wear in this multi season weather.

Wishing all a beautiful day with lots of smiles and happiness.

Good morning Everyfriend.  Thank you Bubble for the new SS and the cute graphic and joke.  The sun is out and TV says it is going to get to mid 80's today.  A cold front is to arrive tomorrow when the high will be in the low 70's.  Sunday is always quiet here - a day off from therapy.

Got this from a friend today.  Thought I would pass it on.

"Congress has come up with a way to make it harder for Medicare scammers to steal your ID and rip you off. The solution: new Medicare cards that don't include your Social Security number, gender, or signature.

The new cards start going into the mail on April 1, 2018 (April Fool's Day - appropriate, don't you think?). Each will feature a computer-generated Medicare beneficiary identifier (MBI) assigned just to you. The MBI, made up of 11 numbers and letters, will be used for billing, to verify eligibility for services and to check the status of a claim.

These changes will make it considerably harder for criminals to steal your identity. According to the Justice Department, the number of identity-theft cases for people 65 or older hit 2.6 million in 2014.

But true to their nature, scammers are already using the moment to target the 58 million people who will be getting new cards next year.

The Federal Trade Commission reports that rip-off artists are now calling beneficiaries, pretending to be from Medicare. Three common pitches are:

1. You're asked for your Social Security number and bank information so you can get the new card. HANG UP! Medicare will NEVER call you and NEVER ask for such information.

2. You're asked to pay for your new card. HANG UP! The new card is free.

3. You're told you'll lose your Medicare benefits if you don't give them money and personal information right now. HANG UP! The free card will be sent to you automatically. Your benefits will remain the same.

Mailing cards to so many people is a big job. So it will take time. Don't worry if you get your card before or after your spouse, or if friends or colleagues get theirs first. Medicare members have until Dec. 31, 2019 to begin using the new ID. Both the new card and your current card will be valid until then."

June, I see you and your messages.... your computer is lying to you!!!  Keep on talking, we love you!

I got the notice this past week about the card change & after thinking it over, I decided NOT to worry since it isn't going to take place immediately.  Not sure what it will cost me as a tax payer but NO charge directly, for sure, don't let the scammers get to you.  My sister just got pulled in by a scammer, the caller ID showed a security company they did business with.  After giving them all the information they asked for & hanging up, she called the police department to report she thought she had just swallowed the hook!  Haven't talked to her to see if there has been any fall out so far, but her credit card company told her not to worry.   :crazy2:

Bubble, I copied the link for everyone I know to watch ... what an impressive speech.  I've got to go back & look for a name to Google more about that man.  I've sat through lots of graduation speeches & never heard one so right on.  Thanks!

I'm going to find something to eat, probably KFC, good ole greasy chicken~~     Have a Super Sunday, Every Friend.

I went to THE FENCE with Cathy and Craig for lunch today.  This is the last day for the season and it will open again in time for my birthday in April.  It was nice!

Early this evening, I got an email from my daughter in Texas asking for any old pins I might want to get rid of.  She wants them for some kind of artistic project.  So I spent the evening watching Harrison Ford in the movie "A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER"  based on a Tom Clancy thriller I read some years badk.  I'd also read the book.  While I did that, I went through the jewelry I have left znd picked out some stuff to send her picture to see if she wants any of it.

Now I'm going to bid you all good night, do a bit of straightening up and get ready for an early bed.  Sooooo....good night, Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one.!

P.S. I see JUNE's posts, too![/i][/i]

Good morning everyone...

No rain here this morning, yet.  Temp is 33° F and the high winds have stopped.  I thought we may lose power but it managed to stay on,in the Toronto area there are 6000 without power due to the high winds.

Managed to finish off the camp quilt and start another one yesterday. Today we need to pick up meds and few things in town . Not sure what else is happening but will just take the day as it comes.

June, I too can see your posts.

Gloria de , hope you feel better today.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning Everyfriend!  After being up twice during the the night to answer the call of nature, I slept in until 7:30 this morning.  Now we are late with breakfast for the doggies because we have to wait out their pills.  And I hope I'm dressed and ready when the cleaning dynamo comes this morning.

We had some gentle rain early evening last night and then a pouring rain right after the doggies came in after their last outing.  I doubt if it lasted more than 10 minutes and there was no thunder or lightning.

Now I better get dressed and make the bed and put some stuff away.  I think while the "dynamo" is here, I'll work on the papers that have been accumulating on my desk.  That will keep me out of her way and make a space for TLH when she comes this afternoon.

Make today your best yet!

Good morning everyone, slept good and now I am startig my day here with my cyber "family" with my coffee and ready to cath up on what everyone has been doing. Turned the TV on and just in time to see the camera view of the sun coming up over the water at Narragansett. Beautiful colors in the sky and the ocean water was a deep red from the glow. Weatherman keeps talking about it. Said they have already put it on Twitter. Not pretty here, just clouds.

JANE  my coffee tastes so good this morning. Some days better than others and I make it the same way all the time. Looks like some celebration at your church yesterday.

AMY  my daughter's dog never lets her sleep later in the mornings either.

HAL  I have put Empire apples in a plastic bag and in the crisper in the bottom of my fridge and I would finish them in the beginning of January, as good as when fresh picked. Just heard we we will have frost tonight with a low near 32°. Usually by this time of year we have winter jackets on, still wearing a light jacket or a sweatshirt here.

LARRY  like Pat the right side of my back has started feeling almost as bad as the left side. By now when arthritis has been around for centuries they would have found something to help. Must have been Gloria de who had the  nose bleed, not me. Perogies are  more a Czeck-Polish thing. My MIL taught me how to make them. Both my sons make them but my daughters family did not care for them so she doesn't.

LLOYD  been a long time since I made a poached egg.

SHIRLEY  does not feel like mic October here. Even the foliage is late with the warm temperatures we have been having.

JOAN  you must enjoy a day off from therapy. I had a PT here for a couple of months but it really did not help. The exercises did nothing to help and my back felt worse.

HAL  way back SS umbers were a means of identity  that did not show up anywhere, now that number is on every thing. I have had phone calls that sound legit but when they ask my SS number I tell them they called me, I did not call them and hang up. If I call some place I know it is different. If the cards go out alphabetically I will be one of the last to get mine.

JUNE  I had that problem yesterday. Looked like I tried to post as Bubble opened the new page.

BUBBLE  love that link, he makes a lot of sense, smart father. Thanks.

SHIRLEY  the new SS card should be free since we did not order the change but with the government involved who knows.

DON  good seeing you. I do miss your Sunday afternoons.

GLORIA de  like you I did not do anything yesterday but lay on the couch with the TV on and dozing at times.

JOAN  have not had a loud thunderstorm since I move here 3 1/2 years ago. Don't miss it either.

Good Morning Everyone!

Gloria, it is new Medicare cards we are getting not Social Security Cards.  Our present cards use our Social Security numbers with an A attached as Medicare numbers.   Love some of the answers folks gave.

Joanie, sorry that old thunderstorm woke you.  They certainly can rumble sometimes and rock and roll and shake the house.

Amy you were up and attam this morning, leading the parade.  It is certainly getting cold in your part of the world.  Normally it doesn't get cold here until late November and then our really cold month is January.

Janie, are those pills helping your pups?  Did the other one develope liver problems?  They must be good about accepting them from you.  I used to have a German Shepard that all you had to do was put a pill in your hand and he would gobble it right down.  My Daughters Lab was like that.

We had the family over last night for Pizza, salad and chocolate cake/ice cream so had five of my great grandkids here and my pup wants they attention but they get pretty rough with her so she stuck pretty close to me, draped across my lap a good portion of the time.  You could almost hear her sigh when they left.  It was so quite, I told the wife and daughter it was almost like when the electricity goes off, that kind of quite.

Lloyd, how you feeling?  Did you get rid of the headaches?

Well guess coffee is ready by now, hear wife stirring so she must be up.

Good Morning Everyone, from
the sunny but cooler rocky coast of Maine.

It seem that the Fall worm has turned and headed
back underground until next spring... Sadly
to say that Summer is over and the colder, darker
Winter Months are forth coming.

Enough of that depressing news....  For
a Fall day,  it is pretty nice here.   I still have
my windows open for fresh air (I do that most
of the Winter Months for a few hours a day),
and all is right with in my world.

Everyone have a good day...

Hi Everyone.  It is predicted that we will have a cooler day, only in the lower 70's, and a possibility of some rain showers and it is overcast this morning.  My main activity for today will be seeing the Podiatrist for a followup on my toenail removal.  I am hopeful he will release me so I won't have to go back on this matter.

The schedule for this week is light and I am thankful as have no energy.  I did start taking my Renexa medication for my heart again this morning as had the worst angina attack yesterday afternoon I can remember having in a long time.  I will contact my doctor's office this morning to advise that I have started taking it again.  She had simply asked me to suspend it for awhile to see if it would help me have more energy and less shortness of breath.  If anything things were worse without it.

I just tried to make a cake circle to put the lemon pound cake that Pat is making today for the bazaar.  However, my efforts weren't successful as we didn't have a piece of cardboard big enough without a crease in it.  So I will have to make a stop at Walmart this afternoon to buy some (just what I want to do!)  We had some but Pat gave them away when we moved.

Shirley, I bet your daughter will be happy to be back home and get rested up.  I bet the babysitting was an act of love but an exhausting one since it lasted more than a few hours.

Joan, I hope you send some of that rain up this way.  We are at least having a cooler spell.  I expect you are ready for a day off from the therapy when Sunday comes.

Hal, thanks for the info on the Medicare scammers.  I think the bottom line is never give out that type of information unless you have made the call and are certain you are dealing with a reputable company or organization.

June, as I mentioned yesterday I think your posting problem was an Internet connection problem rather than one with your computer.  Glad you were able to post.

deAngel, sure hope you are feeling better today.

Jane, hope you have an enjoyable afternoon with TLH.

Gloria, I think I am ready for frost here to hopefully help take care of the allergies that are impacting so many people here this year.  The ragweed is particularly bad.  I don't think I have ever sneezed and blown my nose so much as I have this year.  However, I prefer that to a stopped up head like Pat has been experiencing.  It is interesting how we all have our own food likes and dislikes.  I very seldom need to use a SS number.  I really don't understand why doctor's offices always ask for them since they have a copy of your ID and insurance card as well as address.  We often watch Family Feud.  It does require instant answers and there are many funny things said.  What is surprising is when that answer actually appears on the board.

Sandy, nice to see that "all is right in your world".  You must like cold air more than I do.

Hi Larry...

I do like the cooler weather better then the hotter weather.
I lived in Florida for Seven years and hated the months of March thru October.

As a Northerner,  I am well adapted to the seasonal changes and used to "dressing for the occasion",  which
is what we have to  up here around the  "45 parallel"!

(The 45th parallel makes up most of the boundary between Montana and Wyoming. It also passes through the U.S. states of Oregon, Idaho, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine and through the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.)

I already have my cooler weather clothes ready to go.
Actually I tend to layer my warmer weather clothes so
they will act as "cooler weather clothes"  ...

In the Winter months,  the only time that I wear
boots etc and winter shoes is when there is snow or
rain and ice on the ground..  other wise I wear my
summer sandals year round.

(And people are always
making comments about it, telling me, as if I
didn't know it,  that I was wearing sandals!)
This is embarrassing and sometimes humiliating.. )

Apparently they believe that I have lost my mind!

My body tends to heat up when I wear layers of clothing,
and my sandals act like AC for me ...    (Silly girl)

Have  a good day,  everyone!

Sandy, when I used to visit Tom and his family up north, I crossed the 45th parallel both coming and going.  I always took note of it.  Even though I am well south of the 45th parallel, I am still in the snow belt, have lived here most of my life and I like the four seasons.  We're getting ready for color and I think it's a bit late this year.

Sandy, I'm the opposite end of the depression and really do dread summer like you do winter.  I don't wear sandals all winter but do take off my shoes to cool my body off, summer & winter.  I have the hottest feet & hands, asked the Dr if that was a sign of anything bad.... his answer was, "just good circulation", so I don't go looking for trouble & consider it a good sign.

Larry, sorry about the angina attack, maybe you need half the dose, does it build up over time (the meds in your body).  Having lived with someone battling heart problems I do admire how well you manage yours, all you do every day and how you pace yourself.  Best wishes that you find a balance that works for you.

Mary Ann, I am seeing a little more color every day, even a few bright red leaves in the Cleveland Pear tree in my front yard. On the whole I don't think this will be a pretty fall, the leaves are turning brown on most trees, except some of the locust trees are a bright yellow even though many of the leaves have fallen.  One locust tree (not mine) dumps right into my pool when the wind is right.

Amy, we sometimes get our first sign of snow over Halloween, many years the kids had to wear winter coats to "trick or treat".  I am excited about you seeing snow already!

Hal, I tried to hide the pills for the cats "to calm them" in the tuna fish but they smelled & wouldn't touch, I took the pills out (had cut them into little pieces) and still wouldn't eat the tuna.  Won't try that again, cats rule.

We had the brightest sun and bluest sky today, my son was over to put the new topper over the sky light on the RV so we were out most of the morning.  Birds are migrating through, the osprey floated around before landing on a power pole, robins calling that may have come from Alaska, many other bands of robins have come & gone.  I heard a bird singing across the street, couldn't see it but recognize the melody and can't remember what kind it is. Such a marvel knowing that all of these birds travel from one end of the continent to the other, spring & fall, and remember where they find food.  Happy thoughts to all............  Shirley

Speaking of birds, we are always waiting to see the quail show up here. I call them Bobble Heads.

I went to a fabric shop and bought 3/12 yards of extra wide cotton for a quilt backing plus the same amount for the padding in between the top and bottom cottons.  I had a coupon but that one didn't work.  Always something!

Don is in his glory, listening to his favorite music, the tenors and sometimes a soprano from Norway (Sissel) who is clear and delightful.  We were transferred from Minnesota to Dallas for 9 years and it was great and it was awful.  The kids are all back into normal winters with snow now and very happy.

Shirley:  Do you get pears from your tree?  Nice that you were told it is "good circulation" so you can like that news.

June, June, June..... You are posting!!!     I use Google Chrome all the time, my son prefers Firefox (or Foxfire?).

Carol, the Cleveland pear has same blossoms & "pears" as the Bradford pear trees.  Only difference I can tell is the Bradford is round like a ball and Cleveland is like an upside down ice cream cone.  I love your little quail.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I see the lights were on all night!

It was 34º when I got up this morning but there was no frost on the "punkin".  The weatherguesser said there would be frost in the "higher elevations" but I guess we're not high enough.  We need a good frost or the leaves will all be down and brown...no color.  Lots of trees are bare around here but not very colorful.

We're waiting out the doggies pills and I think I'll go take my shower while I wait.  Make today a good one.

Good morning everyone.
Well the frost was sure on the punkin here ,temp is 26° F and the ground is white with frost.  I would like to cut the grass on last time so I hope the sun comes out and dries it up.

We have VON coming this morning and then we can get on about our day.

June, I too can see your posts.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good  morning everyone, it is down to 30° . Every thing outside is covered with frost. The sun is shining and it will warm up but right now I have the heat on.  Here is something to start the day, have local news on and they had a segment on wild turkeys. It was about 50 years ago when they introduced wild turkeys to this area. I have seen a big flock of them at my sons eating bird seed that dropped from the feeders he has. There was one big one that looked like it was standing guard then they would wander the orchard into the woods. Seems now those birds are attacking people who get too close, even attacked a police cruiser. Best yet was one breaking through a window in a dentist office  and made itself at home. They told people not to feed them. Wonder it thy will have a hunting season for them next month. So much for local news this morning.

HAL  why I kept saying SS card instead of the Medicare cards I don't know. Maybe because our SS number is on every thing these days.

LARRY  like you I do not understand why my SS was even on my driver's liscense.  It has been used on most things, no wonder so much stealing of identity. I used to watch Family Fued and wondered at some of the answers. I stopped watching as I cannot stand those women screaming when they get a right answer or win.

SANDY  like you I like the 4 seasons and dislike the heat and humidity of summer. Must be the Yankee in us.

SHIRLEY  not much color here yet but this morning when I pulled the shades up I looked out at the swamp maples at the end of the parking lot, the sun was shining on them and the beautiful red they get shows up about halfway down. Around here kids wear costumes over their winter coats most years at Halloween.

CAROL  my daughter was telling me she was watching Quail from a window in the mornings, mama and babies stopping at a pan of water my SIL keeps out and walking away.

JUNE  your post shows up.

JANE  we got your share of frost here. Tops of cars are all white and so are the windshields.

AMY  our temperatures are not much warmer than you this morning.

LLOYD  hope you get all that hay cut before frost.

Good Tuesday morning.

Beautiful blue sky, sunshine, no wind, but chilly.  I think it is supposed to warm up to the low 70's by the afternoon.  They were calling for maybe some frost, but if it did occur,  it is gone now.  I was a little later getting up..  I did push the thermostat up a little so the furnace did kick on. It is starting to warm up nicely now, so I will turn it back.

June, I can also see your postings.

Gloria, I am with you about watching Family Feud.   This same thing happens on so many shows.  I, too, can't stand all the screaming and hollering

Nothing much happening in my little corner of the world.  I tackled a messy  job in my kitchen last night after I was finishing up the dishes.  Wound up cleaning my toaster oven.  I did not realize what a mess it was.  But, now it is sparkly clean and ready to go.

Miss seeing our Joan here this morning.  So happy that she has been up to letting us hear from her.

Hope all the friends will have a great day.

Joy

 Hi Everyone.
We started off this morning with a cool 46 degrees and are to only get to the low 70's later this afternoon.  I guess Fall is finally coming to South Carolina.  My calendar is clear for today so plan on a slow and restful day.  The foot doctor said my toes are coming along fine but that it takes several weeks before they are totally healed.  When I went to Walmart they were sold out of the round Wilton cake cardboard plates but they had square ones.  So I called Pat and she said that would be OK.  However, when I got home and she saw them she realized they really wouldn't work for the fresh lemon pound cake she had made in a bundt pan so I went to our local Walmart and found what she wanted.  The cake is all ready to take to the Church bazaar bake sale tomorrow.  Jennifer is planning on coming out to help her grandmother get the items she has to contribute to the bazaar to the Church in the morning and I will not have to do that.

Sandy, I have lived in States with all different types of weather and I will take the warmer weather anytime.  I like not having to deal with snow and there would be no way I could shovel walks anymore.  I spend very little time outside, usually just from the car and then back inside or going to the mailbox.  I haven't owned sandals for years and my feet seem to stay cold most of the time. You have to admit that you probably see few people in your area wearing sandals in the winter.  :) If that is what works for you pay no attention to what anyone else says as it is none of their business.
Right now I have the toe section cut out of a pair of socks so I can let the air get to my toes so they can heal more quickly.  I am still using the shoes they send you home with from the foot doctor but just here in the house.  I can wear my regular shoes when I leave the house.

Amy, it sounds like you were getting an early taste of winter with that early snow.

Shirley, I wasn't excited about stopping the Renexa as that and Coreg had been what had been so helpful to my feeling better for a number of years.  However, I was willing to suspend it to see if it made a difference and it did but just not a good difference.  I really don't do much anymore and often have to stop what I am doing to sit down and rest if I push too hard. Glad you got the new topper over the sky light on the RV.

Carol, like Don I also like the singing of Sissel.  She has a beautiful voice.  At the moment I am listening to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa sing Gershwin, Kern and Berlin.  She also has a beautiful voice and is an opera singer, who I just looked up and see she retired from professional singing last month at the age of 73. She is from New Zealand. I am sure this is more information that needed but I find these things interesting.

June, you have confused me in that I see your posting saying you can't post.  I have used Google Chrome for years and it is my favorite browser.

Lloyd, do you bail the hay in those big bales?  I hope the weather holds until that job is done.

Gloria, there are a lot of wild turkeys in the area where I live.  However, in the almost three years I have lived here I haven't seen any.  It sounds like the turkey population has gotten out of hand sort of like the deer population in many areas.  The deer can also cause a lot of damage.  Years ago I don't remember there being a problem about identity theft like we experience today.  I guess it is one of the downsides to computers.

Joy, I agree with both you and Gloria about how annoying the screaming and hollering on some of the problems can be.  I also find some of the sports color commentators to be very annoying.  However, none of these compare to how I hate the commercials with the loud and repetitive noise in the background.  I am thankful for the mute button.

Good Morning Everyone!

I was up early but just got on the comuter.  Had some stuff I needed to do and some people to contact and got most of it done.

well we got pretty cool here last night.  In the 40's, not sure the exact temp.  It ought to start our leaves turning.

Gloria, I wss afraid I had not made myself clear that it was new Medicare cards.

Larry sounds like your toes are coming along just fine.  It is strange that such a tender spot, the toes are not bothering you  I hope they continue to heal nicely.

Not too much going on here, just the same old routine and doctors apmts.  I told someone the other day seems that doctors appointments are becoming my new hobby.  I sometimes wonder how I would fair without all these doctors.  It seems they don't do much but tell me to come back in a certain length of time.

Lloyd I guess I missed you saying you are putting up your hay.  Dirty, dusty old job and grunt labor.

Amy, looks like the frost would have cut the grass for you. Killed it.

June, I get that same message on my computer that uses Vista and also the little, very old one using XP.  BUT... I just ignore it and do keep my Avast (anti-virus) updated 'cause it doesn't care.  This one that was updated to Windows 10 gives me a royal pain every time it updates.... for some reason my FitBit doesn't like their changes and won't let me view my stats.  Only way I can see how much sleep I got is if I turn my phone on & check.... son put an app on it for FitBit, but since I only turn my phone on when I am heading out of town or if I need to make a call to my local phone company to tell them their service is not working.... 'tis a real aggravation.   SO, can you hear/see me now?    :banghead: :bash: :dontknow: :nopity:

thanks for the tip on listening to Dame Kanawa - I think the Aborigines are such interesting people - how smart they had to be just to survive in Australia, New Guinea and New Zealand.  We watched something last night that showed Global Warming previously that divided land into separate islands in that area.  Interesting in how they can date rocks and all sorts of things.

Had an interruption here and lost my thoughts -  :-\  so I will continue to iron.  Lots of fabric to iron for the quilt and get it ready to bring to a lady who has a large set-up in her house.

Well I'm really discouraged now.  I strongly suspect that the Walmart store where I've been able to order on line for pick up is going out of business.  Page after page of items are "out of stock".  I started an order two days ago, planning as I usually do, to go back and add more items.  I wanted to order Folgers coffee - none at all in stock.  So I went to another brand, two pages later, and added it to my order, only to find that every single item I had ordered previously was "out of stock".  No sense in even looking for the rest of things I wanted to order.

I'll wait a couple of days for them to have a chance to restock, but it doesn't look very encouraging.  I may have to go back to making explicit lists for a friend to shop for me when she does her own grocery shopping in a different store.

Things seem to be working very well now. As long as my Safari does what I need, I won't miss that Google Chrome doesn't want me. I can't get my computer genius to help me,as I am awaiting a grocery delivery , but I will have her up as soon as it is possible. It just seems so cozy to be able to relax with all of you again.

I have been feeling my age lately..need a lot more staying at home. Body does not feel that stable or reliable. Sudden weakness, shortness of breath...last night while reading in bed it felt like a buzzing in my brain. The only other time I have had that is when I fell and  broke my small side table. It doesn't alarm me. I find it rather interesting how the body, brain, blood all work together and do what they want to do, so we calmly lay back and find the experience very interesting. We cannot control it,so we look at it as a new sentence in a book we are living in.

Oh, it feel so good to be able to just chatter on to you all. Just hoping the Lord allows it to post.

Ok, I called a guy that does insulation and I told him right up front that I'm a Sr. citizen trying to make it on Social Security and that I need an estimate and some time to figure out if and how I'm going to pay for insulation.  He said he could come over today and the estimate was free and he understood the situation. When he was finished, he apologized for the amount and told me there are ways to get people to help.  He's going to check them out for me and get back to me.  We'll see!  If I have to pay full price, I won't be able to do it.  Let's hope something comes up or we have a mild winter.

Now I'm going to go to take the purps out one more time and then get ready for bed.

Good night Everyfriend!  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning everyone..

Who needs an alarm clock when you have dogs/pets??? We are off to the city today, returning clothes that don't fit and having a wee talk with Costco . I have my new card but the photo is not me..I am sure it is an easy fix for them.

Jane, is this for the blown in or batt insulation? I hope he finds a plan to off set the price. Hope your government or state is offering rebates or tax relief incentives for you.

June ,glad you are up and running, puter problems are not fun.

Jeanne Lee I laughed about your way of exercising, I get most of mine doing the here after..

Lloyd, the last day/month we have for doing hay here is in Sept but you have a longer growing season there.

Larry, hope your meds straighten up your heart problems.

Hal, I told a friend that if it wasn't for Dr. appointments we wouldn't go anywhere. They are not as bad now as we are not running for chemo but still have us on the road.

Gloria, wild turkeys were introduced here a few years back and they are becoming a problem. I have seen vehicle windshield smashed due to them I almost had mine done on one of our trips to the city. Got a close up look of his/her tummy but thankfully timing was right and it just missed.

Joy, it is those little annoying jobs that are so nice when done. I really should do mine too....one of these days.

Joan, so nice to see you in here,I hope each day finds you stronger.

Sandy, I agree with Larry, let others mind their business, not yours. I have a friend that will NOT wear a winter coat......just a heavy sweater and out winters can be nasty at times.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We're in "pill wait time" for the doggies and, while I have to work today I don't go in until 10 so I have some time to goof off.  I slept pretty well last night.  I left the heat turned up a little (to 68) and the bedroom was a bit warmer than it's been.

I decided that my insulation guy with the ideas for help was part of God's plan and since I asked Him for help, I'm just going to relax, wait and see what he comes up with.  It helps to relieve some of the stress.

Everyfriend, take today and make it your special day!

but we have had no frost as yet this year. so it takes longer to cure the hay.
takes 4/5 days this late in the season.  and wont kill the fest cue grass either.
also the old timers say standing gars has the same food value in winter as summer. sure hope I haven't spun your head. have a great day.

Good Wednesday Morning .  It is only in the high 30's right now in my little corner of the world.  But, the sun is shining, so it probably will warm up a little bit later on.  Supposed to be in the 70's again by the week end.

Amy, I am in the same boat as you are...... I wouldn't go many places if I didn't have doctor appointments.  But, at least it gets me out !!!  Luckily, in the past month,  I had gotten a reprieve.  Nothing now until the middle of November.

I am another one who doesn't like coats.  I will wear several layers instead of one coat.  I do have a winter coat, but hardly ever wear it.  For one reason, I am hardly ever outside that long.  Either in a car or "running" into a store.  So,  I usually am never out in the cold weather for that long.

Now, in my apartment, I am cold sometimes.  This place is heated with heat pumps.....  not a furnace as the maintenance man tells us.  And, when that heat comes on it is almost like the A/C is on.  Sometimes  I have to push it up to almost 80 for the temperature to get comfortable. I leave it there for a little bit and then when it warms up, I turn it back.  Usually, I don't have to do that again until the evening.  I am just miserable when I am cold.  My heating bill is a little high for a couple months in the winter, but my summer bills are much, much lower, as I don't get the sun hardly at all, since I am on the north side of the building.

I am at a point, where I just have to be comfortable and able to pay the heating bill.

Jane, I hope that your dealings with the insulation man will be successful in him getting you a lower price.  It seems when you have a house, it is just one thing after another that needs taking care of.

Not sure what I will be getting into today.  I know that I have to finish an on-line order for Walmart.  Like Jeanne mentioned, I, too, noticed that so many items on my Walmart order page were out of stock.   When I looked again yesterday,  everything was back to normal.  Then, I have to talk to my son or DIL to see when they can go pick it up.  It is so easy to grocer shop this way.  Thanks to Larry for his encouragement to try it.  I just cannot walk the aisles in the grocery store anymore.

I hope all the friends will have a great day.

Good morning Everyfriend.  I have been up for about 3 hours but just took my iPad off the two chargers.  Linda sent me an email at 4;30 a,m.  She and Ed were at the airport ready to board a plane for CA.  They are going to attend a wedding.  I hope ALL of you have a day just like you want it to be.

Good morning everyone, yesterday was dentist day for me, only a cleaning this time. I had a different hygenist this time and she was rough. Never tasted so much blood in my mouth like yesterday. When the dentist came into the room when she was finished she asked how it went and I told her. Then she told me the one I always have is out for now. Her husband was on his way to work and for some reason ran off the road and hit a tree and he died, 41 years old. I feel so bad for her and their family. She is a wonderful person and often talked about him and their sons.

JOY  glad I am not the only one who cannot stand that yelling and jumping on Family Feud, do not care for the host of the show either. Here I like watching Judge Judy, she comes on at 4pm and the Fued is on before that so at times when I turn the TV on to watch her I get the tail end of the Family Fued and I mute the TV so I do not hear them.

LARRY  after yesterday's frost this morning it is in the 40's to start the morning. Days are really getting short now. 60 years ago seein a deer here was bug news, now there are way too many of them. Back they deer hunting season was 5 days and only with bow and arrow. That season is much longer now. My son had permits from the state to allow a few hunters to hunt on his property. They even put up blinds up in some pine trees and every year about 5 deer were taken and all those hunters had to fill out a tag that my son turned into the state. They always gave my some some venison. Wonder how many use the mute button during commercials.

JOAN  we are finally getting fall weather and I love it. For me anything over the 70's is too hot.

HAL  at one time it seemed like the only time I got away from home was for a doctor appointment. Yesterday was the first time in a couple of months I had an appointment, next one is the end of next month but I do have to make one for new bottom dentures. Had the last of the bottom teeth out several months ago.

JUNE  your Google ID has nothing to do with your S&F ID. Wonder why Google Chorme is acting up for you. How old is your Mac? Like with the different ones for Microsoft some of their older versions, like the XP I loved, are no longer updated because they are obsolete.

SHIRLEY  I am still using Windows 7, heard too many have problems with 10.

GLORIA de  it is the contestants acting foolish that get to me with jumping and screaming. Know the audience is told when to do different thing and they obey like well trained animals. Just as bad as the prerecorded applause.

JEANNE LEE  hard to believe a Walmart store is closing but it happened in one city here.  It was the only market in that cection iof the city but they built a new super Wm. in the next town. I have been in that one once, I could get lost in there and I never went back.  Glad you reloaded and you can order your groceries.

JANE  hope the insulation man can find some help for you. No fun living through a cold winter in a house that needs it. Been there with very cold outside walls and really never really feeling warm enough.

AMY  wish they would stop introducing wild animals where they do not belong.  Wild ones are finding their way on their own, mainly coyotes and black bears. Not safe to take a hike through the woods anymore.

LLOYD  glad you are sleeping better.

JOAN  still waking up very early. Don't know how you do it.

Have a good day.

Hi Everyone.  It is really a beautiful day here in South Carolina.  It is about 56 degrees and headed only into the low or mid 70's and will be sunny.  It is the perfect day for the ladies to hold their Church bazaar and luncheon.  Jennifer will be here within the hour to help Pat get things into the car and then go with her to deliver the items for the bazaar and to see all that they have.  The affair ends after the Wednesday night dinner so I will get to see a lot of what they had to offer.  Of course they don't ever have anything that attracts men other than the food items but they will likely be gone by the time of our Wednesday night dinner.

Speaking of food, Pat made the best Jambalaya dish yesterday.  Some of it was fixed in the crock pot all afternoon.  Then she poured off the juice and fixed the rice in the sauce and added the cooked shrimp to the mixture.  She did say the recipe called for a lot of different ingredients so it is not likely we will have this very often as she usually tries to stay with recipes with 5 ingredients or less. Fortunately there is another good meal of it remaining in the refrigerator, which I expect we will enjoy tomorrow night.  Going to the dinner tonight is the only thing on my schedule for today.  I do have to get a birthday card and check in the mail as our oldest great grandchild will be 15 on Friday.

Jennifer didn't make it out as she wasn't feeling well so I went with Pat to the Church and then waited in the car for her after helping her get her cake and chili into the fellowship hall.

Hal, I am staying out of my regular shoes except when I leave the house.  Yesterday Pat thought the nose piece of her CPAP mask had fallen under the bed.  Of course, she is not able to get down to look for it so I did and then had to call her to help me get up.  I was beside the bed but my legs just didn't have the strength to lift me.  My toes didn't like the strain those efforts put on them but feel ok today. I think going to doctor appointments is making up the bulk of our social life.  Pat called yesterday and has an appointment at the pain doctors office for this afternoon.  Fortunately she is now driving so I won't need to go with her. She is going to talk to them about getting a shot in her back.

June, when you use the Chrome Browser you will have to sign in with your user name and password for the S&F's and use the for ever setting.  You can read the postings but don't think you can post unless you are signed in.

Mary Ann, I just checked and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is of Maori and Irish descent.  She does have a beautiful voice.

Jeanne, I am sure glad you found that renewing your order page brought back your work and that the items are available.  We don't often hear of a Walmart closing until they have opened a new store in the same town.

Jane, sure hope the insulation man can come up with a plan you can afford.

Amy, it sounds like someone at the service desk wasn't paying much attention with your membership card.  It sounds like I don't want to see any wild turkeys if they can fly into my windshield since I likely would see them when out in the car.

Lloyd, did you get a new CPAP machine or just a new headgear and face mask?

Joy, we had a heat pump when we lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland and it seemed our house was never very warm.  However, we have one in this house and it works wonderfully.  We have an all electric home and our electric bill is not unreasonable.  I think the energy efficient appliances help a lot.  We will pick up another online Walmart order after our dinner at Church this evening.  This works out very well and our son can help us unload the car as he usually comes out on Wednesday evening.

Joan, you have confused me with your saying you took your iPad off its two chargers.  I hope Linda and Ed have a nice trip to California.

Gloria, the first dental hygienist we had when we moved here was also rough and just didn't do a good job.  We didn't go back.  I have a friend here who told me Sunday he is going deer hunting tomorrow and Friday.

I will try to be more clear. I see my posts too…WHEN they post. Most of the time I write to you, hit "Post" and the sign appears:

Safari can't open the page "https://www.seniors and friends.org/index.php?topic=415.240"because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server"www.seniorsandfriends.org.

That is why my tech girl installed Google Chrome. Now Google Chrome says :

This Computer will no longer receive Chrome updates because Mac O.S. X10.6, 10.7,   and 10.8 are no longer supported.

I will save this page on my computer, in case it does not post. It stopped accepting my reply the rest of yesterday.
Let's see if this will post.

BIS……I LOVE you girl. Your posts make my days so thankful and happy.

Hi June - I don't usually post here in SS, but I've been reading about your problem with Safari, and think maybe I can help you.  I also have a Mac, and I also use Safari.  Every couple of days, I get that same thing "Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server", and another one that's similar?  What I do is just wait a short while, and come back, and it will usually open with no problem.  If it doesn't, then I go to the Apple icon up in the corner, and click Restart. It only takes about minute for it to go through the restart process.  Then I click on Seniors & Friends, and it comes right up.  My husband uses the Firefox browser on his Mac, and he has no problems.  I like Safari, so I will continue to put with with that glitch.  It never happens on any other website, only on Seniors & Friends.  I wonder what that is?

good Night everyone. Larry a total new one state of the art Latest thing. it has a lot less air presser. about eleven Lbs. has the same full face mask. so much easier to breath in and out. wake up with out the dry mouth. It has automatic heat so soon after starting it no cold air. it uses more water. but I mainly have one nature call . I take off the mask  and lay it down it blows hard for just a minute and shuts it self off, and turns a lighted screen you can read whet you have done so far in the night. when you put it back on it starts its self again.
in the morning when you take it off and lay it down light's back up and tells you how many hours you slept and if it leaked or not. It sends all the data to K C VA. automatically as it is being done. I feel better totally with a good night's sleep. have a great night c u all tomorrow lord willing and the creak don't too high.  I have a early morning appointment at V A tomorrow to visit about it Q & A session.

Howdy, I thought I had posted on here early in the day, but looking back I found no post.  Anyhow I have been busy messing around most of the day doing not much of anything.  It was really cool this morning so I dug my light weight sweater out and been wearing it most of the day.  And we have another cold front coming in this weekend and suppose to get a nip in the air.

I am tired and think I will turn it, tire from what, I have no idea.  I do little physical labor anymore so cant be from that.

Got an email today which was kinda interesting:

Google Fiber Continues Micro Trenching Program in Misty Oaks

The City of San Antonio is notifying you of an upcoming fiber installation pilot program in your neighborhood called "micro-trenching."  The installation of fiber does not guarantee service by the fiber provider.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Utility locates: residents will see various colors of paint on the ground.

• Construction in the right of way (front yard): a tractor with a hydraulic saw will be used to cut a small micro-trench in the street along the curb line (some horizontal road cuts will also occur too).

• Installation of a small fiber box in the right of way (front yard): A hand saw will be used to cut curb and sidewalk joints in front of each property so an individual fiber line and fiber box can be installed for potential future customer use. To install a fiber box, a 14"Lx14Wx12D hole is required. Orange construction fencing in the right of way (front yards) will be installed to secure all open trenches until the boxes are installed.

Please note, that vehicles cannot be parked on the street while construction occurs. The Fiber Agency's contractor will provide "advanced notices of work" as a reminder to keep vehicles off the street.

Neighborhood residents are encouraged to call the respective Fiber Agency's construction line for construction related issues and concerns. That number is 1-877-454-6959 and is operated and staffed 24/7.

To see additional information on micro trenching please visit http://www.sanantonio.gov/TCI/Fiber-Deployment

I love the part I placed in bold.
Wonder why they are going to the expense if they may not provide the service......... :crazy2:

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm guilty of not posting yesterday after my good morning message.  Between what's happening at work and the insulation thing and a couple of other things, I was just plain stressed-out-tired yesterday!  But today is another day!

I'm meeting my grandniece at her college dorm today and we're going to lunch together.  I like to have a visit with her occasionally.  She's such a sweetheart and she loves to talk so I find out about her college days and her family all at one time.

Also, Kiran is staying for supper today.  We're having spaghetti.  Then they will pick her up later than usual.  So that's my day.  I mght squeeze in a quick trip to Wenger's (The Amish Store) between Bridget and Kiran.

HAL what is that FIBER stuff supposed to do for you if they ever institute it's use?

Everyone have a good day!

Good Morning Everyone!
Cool this morning, but not cold.  I have a doctors apmt, what's new, at 10 or 11, cant remember right off hand, it is with my PC.  And then just one little chore that has to be done and then, heck, who knows.

Janie, fiber is suppose to be the cat's meow.  High speed, the highest available.  Only one little caveat, it is expensive from what I hear.  So I don't think I will be getting on it with my computer.  AT&T is also running their fiber.  But we have had it out here in our area for several years, Time-Warner re-did their whole system 10 years ago with fiber, except they didn't run it to the house, just their terminal boxes.  :uglystupid2:

Well I had better get me a cup of coffee and get in the shower.

Everyone have a great day.

Hi Everyone.  It is another cool morning but we will be going into the high seventies late this afternoon.  I am going to pick up my friend for coffee and if I feel up to it will go back downtown to the Church for the Wisdom class.  I have missed doing either for the last two weeks.  That is all that is on the schedule for today.

Joan, I now understand why the two chargers.  I had a case for my iPad after I first got it that had a bluetooth keyboard but it was powered by AAA batteries.

June, so sorry to see you are still having posting problems.  When you experience this problem are you able to open other website pages such as your email or do a web search?

Marilyne, it sounds like you have isolated the problem to the Safari browser and not the connection.

Lloyd, that is a much more sophisticated CPAP machine than what Pat and I have.  I am glad you are having good luck with it.  I am still waiting to hear about using oxygen with my head gear.  I don't think our machines will turn off automatically like yours does and we just have to push the button to stop the air flow.

Hal, I had to wear a sweater jacket all day yesterday and have it on again this morning as the house is chilly.  It would really be a job to put fiber cable over a big city.  I guess the disclaimer of service is to give them an out if they were to decide not to offer service in your area.  I have also heard that the fiber service is expensive.

Amy, enjoy your nice weather and your day.

Jane, nice you can have lunch today with your grandniece and your supper with Kiran.

Good morning everyone, another beautiful sunny morning at 48° so a good night for sleeping. More trees are showing color, love seeing it when I pull my shades up in the morning with the sun shining on them.

LARRY  I wish Pat good luck with a shot in her back. I will never get that again after the painw "specialist" hit that nerve at my spine, my left leg is still bothering me from that. What really got me when he asked what was wrong and I told him and he hit that spot a second time. Hope your friend gets his deer.

JOAN  my daughter bought the keyboard for her iPad, too.

LLOYD  glad that new machine is helping you sleep better.

HAL  I think amd am tired all the time but that is from doing nothing. Had more energy when I was on the go all day. Hope you do not to pay for all that fiber installing.

Just hear on the news that a school in the south-did not catch where-will change  the name of the Jefferson Davis school to the Barack Obama school.

Haha, Gloria, I heard this morning that another little town in the south was willing to re-name their town Amazon... if that company would bring their 2nd "headquarters" there.  We have one stretch of highway that's been renamed so many times since we lived here that I can't even remember (until I see the signs) what it is called.  Don't know how the maps & GPS people keep up, I know it costs taxpayers to make all those new signs~~ :crazy2:

Joan, I'm just hoping for a freeze soon to help with the allergy problems.  I think mine have "peaked" half a dozen times so far this year, and still struggling with the usual fall ones.  Crazy weather.... my neighbor called yesterday to report the Bradford pear trees planted in the medium strip about a mile away are in FULL BLOOM!  I thought that was what I saw the other day when I drove past but since I have had so much trouble with my eyes & glasses lately, I figured "just my eyes".

This is mow day but the grass has not grown enough to have it done.... I could not tell they mowed last week & mentioned it may be the last for the season.  Maybe next week & that should be the last.  The leaves are starting to fall but not enough to rake up yet, would be nice if they all "dumped" to be picked up with the mowers next week (never happen).  Duty calls, still have Callie to feed, she is a late sleeper, I have taken her breakfast out to the garage for her the last few days.

I already need a nap... just over 4 hours sleep last night.  My Fitbit decided to work again yesterday, would not sync with the computer the last few days & I've really been upset.  Have a great day, everyone..... sun is shining & to be about 80 this afternoon.

How do I get so lucky?

After thinking Walmart was out of everything and finding it was my mistake, I placed my order and my next door neighbor went to pick it up for me, like his always does.

He just brought it, about at least three times the size of my normal order.  And it isn't my order!  :yikes:  Not one single item of my order!  Whoever should have this order must be lots more upset than I am.  Anyway, I called and they are sending someone to bring my order and take away all this unwanted.

I sure have all the fun!   :2funny:

Good Morning Everyone from the
cool but sunny rocky coast of Maine.

Jeanne Lee ....  How disappointing to get the wrong
order,  but  since they are going to gather it up and
replace it,   then you can celebrate.   I hope that
they get the order right  when it finally comes.

It is so frustrating having to depend on people to
come to your aid when you can't do it any longer
yourself.    (I would be checking out everything
the wrong order to see just what other people require).

Have a good day Everyone,

Jeanne Lee,   I had tried to make up an order for Walmart and noticed that so much produce was out of stock. I was thinking that it was because of all the bad weather across the country.  However, like you, when I went back the next day,  everything was back to normal.

I don't usually go with my DIL or son when they pick up my order, so I could easily get the wrong order also.  They wouldn't know to check it to see if it was everything that I had ordered. But, if I ever go with them, I will be sure to check a few items to make sure.  I guess I could print the order out and they could check it out before they leave.  Glad that they took care of coming to get it and bJoying the right order with them.  I know you were happy about that.

Morning all:  A bit of jarring news this morning that there was a shooting and deceased person - wounding with 4 involved near the campus of Colorado State in Fort Collins.  Two of our grands go to school there and are in apartments - we will check with them when they get out of classes.   :'(

This morning the car didn't start right away - we think they put in an oversized battery and it has been iffy.

The few times we have used the WalMart site, they go over the list - once, they go over anything substituted.  Maybe that has changed with more people using the system.  Here, they wanted you to sign up for a 1 hour spot and we were driving in from home and couldn't know if we could get here in time so that idea was scratched.

We are being herded each and every time we deal with anything anymore.

Good morning everyone...

We are to have another great day here, Yesterday was very windy at times , I did get both vehicles washed and dried .Then men came to replace the eaves on the garage and now there will be no break dancing this winter! It leaked right in the middle and a pile of ice would form  and when the snow came you didn't see the ice until you made fancy foot movements.

Another day of not sure what is going on but  will work out alright.

Better get a move on here

Enjoy your day every one.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I see I didn't get here to say Good Night.  After my day with the kids, I was beat!  But it sure was a fun day!

With Bridget, you never have to try to think of something to say.  She opens with "Hi AJ" closes with "i love you" and never forgets her "thank you-s" in the middle.  I found out things tha happenend with her an her sister a year ago and also what both of them are doing right now and what they hope for the future.  I love that kid so much

I picked up Kiran from her after school track program and we came home and had supper and gabbed and played computer games.  I told her it's a good thing she's not twins or her parenta wouldn't be able to pay her food bill.  I don't know how she eats so much and stays so skinny!

Today I work 10 to 2.  I don't really like those hours but they work for me and the store.

We're in pill wait for the doggies and as soon as they're fed and out again, I'll be getting ready for work.  I wish you all a great day, filled with whatever you wish for.  Enjoy![/i]

Good morning,  Jane, Amy and Lloyd and all the friends who will follow later

Jane, sounds like you had a really fun day yesterday. I know what you mean about the grands being good eaters.  And, I, too, don't know how they stay so skinny.

Amy,  glad you got your problem fixed with your garage leaking.  That could have been really dangerous.

Lloyd,  hope you have a good day, also.

It is a beautiful, but chilly, morning.  I think this is the last week end of our "spring-like" temperatures.  I was up before it got light out and that is not like me.  But, I needed to get my trash down to the trash bin.  With the week end approaching, the trash really builds up by Monday. I also had 3 or 4 stacks of catalogs bundled up to put out for the recycle bin.  I think my name must be all over the country. I get so many catalogs from places I have never even heard of.  I used to do a lot of catalog shopping, but tend to stick with Amazon most of the time now.  Then, I had to go down and pick up my mail from a couple days and,  more catalogs.

Since I am up earlier for me, I am sure a nap will happen at some point this morning.  I  will read for a while and it will get hard to keep my eyes from closing and usually will wind up dropping my Kindle.

I finished my Walmart on-line order last night and my daughter-in-law will pick it up for me this evening.  Tomorrow morning, I hope to get to a local farm stand to use up a gift card that my son gave me for Mother's Day.  He gives me these gift cards, but seems to forget that he is the one who will have to take me.  I noticed that this place will be closing the end of the month, so I need to use the card or it will expire.  Not sure how much they will have left now.  But, I am sure it won't be too hard to spend the money.

Nothing much else on my to-do list for the rest of the week end.

Hope everyone will have a great day.

Joy

Good morning everyone, another beautiful one here with 55° and bright sunshine. This has been a week of temperature I could live with all the time. Cool nights and warm days. Of course like everything else might long for snow or rain at times.

JOAN  I am glad I can still get out  and enjoy sitting on the porch and enjoy the weather we have been having. I always liked getting out in the fresh air. So happy to see you post every day again.

SHIRLEY  I heard something on the news yesterday another school is thinking of changing name. The world is going nuts. Like you I have almost a year to wait for my next eye appointment but my eyes are telling me my glasses are not right anymore. Not because I spend too much time at the computer anymore. Here in the morning and check email then back at 5 pm for my date with my daughter and check email both times.

CAROL  hope your grands were nowhere near that shooting.

JOY  I am like you with catalogs from places I never heard of. I laugh at some that tell you it is your last catalog unless you order. They go into recycle after I tear my name off.

I am having trouble with my gmail, for 2 days now they so not recognize me and I have to go through so many things to get in. I can bet in Google, it is just my email. What next with this lemon.

Good morning from the Boston suburb of Weston MA.

We have been so busy since our arrival here on Tuesday afternoon.  I finally got in here last night to read all the posts but had to giveup before I could post a message as I could not keep my eyes open!

Today is our second grandson, Konrad’s 11th Birthday.  The celebration will be family tonight and friends tomorrow.  It sure is nice to be here with him on this special day.

Yesterday we drove north to do a bit of tree peeping, then drove back down on the coast....it was a most delightful day.  We had a lobster roll at a famous place in Essex called Woodman’s, and it sure was yummy.  Walked around some in Salem.....had to see a bit of the traditions there this special time of year.  The little villiages are so cute and the water views were spectacular!

CAROL, I am so sad to read about the college shooting in our state.  I know your grands are there and I do hope they are OK.  I read the girl that was shot is from Highlands Ranch.  😪

I wish you all a good day.

Good morning Everyfriend.  The sun is out, and it's supposed to be 'balmy' today.  They are saying that on Sunday bad rain/thunder/lightning storms are to begin and last a few days.  I worry about family.  Part of them are in CA to attend a wedding and part in New Orleans visiting friends.  They all will be flying back either Sunday or Monday.  I hope you ALL enjoy this day.

Joan, it's always nice to see posts from you; it lets us know that you are feeling better.

Joy, I've posted this before about catalogs, but I'll do it again.  One year I kept track of the catalogs I received.  I admit I shopped by catalog and had my favorites, but I did not shop in as many catalogs as I received that long-ago year.  I received almost 1000 catalogs that year (I think the actual number was 970).  The numbers represented the catalogs received, not the number of companies represented.

That year I signed up on the site for companies not to sell your name to other companies and I think the following year I got about 500 catalogs.  The next year brought me fewer catalogs and now I get very few catalogs, mostly because I hardly do any ordering now.  I think the 970 came about 20 to 25 years ago.  Mine go to recycle now.

Instead of ordering from catalogs, I give $$ now and it is much appreciated, more than gifts for which people have no use.

Hi Everyone.  It is a another beautiful day here with clear skies and as of now 57 degrees but headed into the low 80's this afternoon.  This morning I had an 8 am appointment with the eye doctor to do more measurements on my eyes and schedule the surgery.  I was home before 9 am.  The housekeeper is here this morning and around noon Pat and I will drop one of her new shoes off at the shoe store to have it stretched overnight and then go on down the street to the Honey on the Rock Restaurant to have our main meal of the day.  That will be plenty for us to do on one day.

Gloria, we don't have any color on our trees yet.  However, a few more nights in the 40's and perhaps we will begin to see some change.  The shot Pat will be having won't be in her spine but in the area of a nerve to the side.  She was told if she wasn't in pain the day of the shot they wouldn't do it as she needs to be so they will know they have hit the right spot as the pain should immediately be gone.  Unfortunately it takes up to 2 weeks to get approval from the insurance company so it is still awhile before the shot will be administered.  School and street renaming is another type of political correctness.  Apparently anything connected to the South related to the Civil War is to be eliminated.

Shirley, I would doubt that any little town would have a chance for the Amazon 2nd headquarters as they need a large population from which to hire.  I also will welcome a freeze to help eliminate the allergy problems.

Jeanne, what a mistake on your grocery order.  We did have a minor mixup on an online order we had at Kroger but most of the order was ours.  The problem was discovered at the time of pickup as the other person was there for pickup at the same time.  I am sure I wrote about this at the time but it had a good result.  I am glad that Walmart is correcting their mistake.

Sandy, I had to chuckle at your saying you would check out the order to see what others are buying.

Joy, the first time we did the online ordering I checked every bag but then decided it was a waste of time.  I do look over what Pat has ordered so can see from the items in a few of the bags that it is our order.  The system isn't perfect but it is worth a little problem here and there for the convenience it provides.

Carol and Mary, they always tell me what is substituted or what is out of stock when I pick up the order.  One time I knew I was not going to make it within the hour so just called them and told them I would be a little late and I was told that was fine and the order would be waiting when I got there.

Amy, glad you got the eaves fixed as ice can be so dangerous.

Jane, it sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday.  If Kiran is running track that would help her stay skinny.

Joy, sometimes we get three or four catalogs a day and from companies we have never heard of or dealt with.

Gloria, sorry you are having email problems.  That computer has really been a lemon from the beginning.

Jenny, hope your grandson has a great birthday party tonight and then again tomorrow.

Joan, I would like for some of that rain to head up our way as it has been several days since we had any rain.  I hope the storms won't affect the travelers getting back safe and sound.

Larry, regarding so much Political Correctness - I have read in past years that many young people do not believe there was a WWII or a WWI and that lots of past history did not happen.  Maybe they're including the Civil War now.  I don't know what this world (and/or country) is coming to.

Good Morning Everyone!

My but night time has not ended here this morning, still dark, dark out and very muggy.  We are expecting a cold front through tonight and hopefully some rain showers with it.

Political correctness is the ruination of the U.S.  Yes, honesty does hurt some peoples feelings but at least it is not hypocritical like PC is.  We had high school here in San Antonio called Robt. E. Lee and the PC crowd raised so much cane that they renamed it........ta da:
L.E.E. (Legacy of Education Excellence High School.)
How do you spell "stupid" and it is only going to cost about 1 million dollars.

It has been one of those mornings.  I got a letter returned because I (that is like me) forgot to put a stamp on it, how do you spell "stupid" well one spelling would be Hal.  Anyhow I needed for the letter to get to it's destination ASAP so now it is only a week late, anyhow I made a special trip to post office to be sure it gets out today and at its destination by Monday.

And then the wife bought a new Bona floor thingy and the new one, after assembly, is doing the same thing.  Not spraying evenly and these little jewels are not inexpensive, about 30 bucks.

And my back is hurting, just put a Lidocane patch on, they always help.

Everyone have a great day.  I am going for a cup of coffee.

Mary Ann,   I wish I had thought about keeping track of the number of catalogs I get.  I am sure mine would be about the same amount as you  counted.  The other day I received 8 in one day. Instead of tearing off my name,  I use a magic marker and black out the address label.  I used to tear off the labels and shred them, but blacking it out is easier and saves a little bit of time.

It is a tiny bit cooler today in Tucson.  We were told by the weather person to look for Uranus but we missed seeing the planet.  So, I cannot report that Uranus is still there!

Mary:  We use WalMart pickup when returning home or coming to Tucson - and they used to have a 4 hour period.  With the change to 1 hour, I could not call and say if we would be late or early.

Gloria:  Granddaughter and grandson are not near the shooting in Fort Collins.  Thankful.  Their apartments are at the other end of the school , over 30,000 students.  Imagine how the roads get clogged.  When we lived there years ago, the only problems were when the Wyoming cowboys came to town and met the state kids in the bars - always fighting.  This is sickening.

Jenny:  Yes, our grands are alright - it is just shocking.  So glad you are on such a nice trip and enjoying those lobster rolls - you mentioned it and I immediately knew the taste.  Missing seafood.

Joan:  Just a note to say that it is great to see you posting again.

Mary Ann:  I sure don't understand the pressure to change our history.  If it is changed, then it is false history.  That would make it like North Korea or others on the fake history list.

CAROL, I am extremely offended by those who want to demolish the statues that are our history!  We just can not sweep it all under a rug!  We learn from our past......if we give in to this practice there will be NOTHING left as someone is offended by EVERYTHING!

I am certainly glad that your grands are OK and that they were not near the shooting. So very sad.

Thank you, LARRY, the celebration has started!

Good morning Everyfriend!  We're waiting ou the doggies pills and after they're fed, I'm getting ready to make a run to the Amish store.  I have a gift card to spend and I need a couple things.

AMY, thanks for the good wishes re answers but I'm really not expecting that to happen.  I'm thinking a stick of dynamite under the right person might do it but even that's a long shot.  I remember hearing my father say, "Maybe if I light a stick of dynamite under you, you'll get that job done."  I wonder?

I hope you all have a great day today and I'm especially watching for the laundry blowing in the wind!

Good morning everyone, looks like we are in for another beautiful day.

JENNY  glad you are enjoying this part of the country. The weather has cooperated for your visit with the week of beautiful weather we have had all week. Glad you went leaf peeping during the week, week ends the roads are pack with folks doing that. Glad you enjoyed a yummy fresh lobster roll. I love those.

JOAN  like you I worry every time a family member is traveling. Hope the storm predicted for your are does not happen. I do not like storms with thunder and lighting and thunder, I am not afraid of them, just don't like that there could always be a loss of power. I do not like the idea of being stuck here on this floor with no elevator to get down to the ground floor. I might be able to get down the stairs but without my rollator I would not be able to walk without it. It was bad enough the night the power went put for about an hour.

LARRY  when I looked out this morning I looked at the swamp maples near the parking lot and they are so beautiful, only the bottom branches are still green. Wish I had a camera to take pictures of them. A beautiful deep red.

CAROL  looks like a bit of the old west when cowboys went to town on a Saturday night and raised a ruckus shooting their guns. At least that was in the movies so maybe they did not do that and today they still do the same? Like those who say the Holocaust in WW2 never happened? More stupidity but soon we never had either world wars either?

JUNE  keep posting, we see them.

JANE  hope things at work get settled.  Being stressed at work does not make for a good day.

LLOYD  have a good day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Bad night, shortness of breath, was up and down it seems like every hour on the hour.  I see a nap in my future.

Janie, sometime it seems like forever when you are waiting on an answer or a decision.  Hope you get yours soon.  Obviously it is important to you.

Amy, hot tube?  Do you use it in the winter?  I think I would pass in wintertime.

Gloria, do you have some kinda fire  escape plan if you lose power?  I guess you could sit down on the stairs and scoot down with the walker in your lap.

Coffee is ready, who wants a cup?

Hi Everyone.  It is 57 degrees here this morning but a bright and sunny low 80's day. This should be a pretty quiet day.  I will go pick up Pat's shoe that we took to have stretched yesterday.  We did enjoy a delicious lunch at Honey from the Rock restaurant.

Last evening my Chromebook stopped working.  I told Pat I knew what I wanted for Christmas and that is a new laptop but will likely get an early Christmas present.  I brought down her old laptop that she has in her sewing room and it spent all evening downloading and installing the latest Windows Updates.  This morning it is working reasonably well but think I am going to have to use the Explorer browser as the Chrome browser keeps locking the computer up.  So today I will be setting up the bookmarks I want to use in the Explorer.  It looks like there should be some good football games on this afternoon.

Mary Ann, it is sad when we deny our history whether good or bad.

Hal, I hope you got some rain last night. As of last night it was predicted we would have a 100% chance of rain on Monday.  It apparently only takes a few people complaining about something to cause it to change for everyone.  It is so sad what is happening on many college campuses. Do you use a CPAP machine?  I sure understand the shortness of breath although the last couple of days I haven't been bothered by it as I was for several days before.  I am still waiting to hear about  adding oxygen to my CPAP to use at night.

Joy, you have us beat on the number of catalogs in one day as think about 4 is the maximum on a single day.  It seems we get several catalogs a week from Blair and their other companies plus a lot of others.  Most just go directly into the trash.

Carol, glad you got positive info on the safety of your grandchildren.

Jenny, I agree with you on the demolition of the statues.  We don't have to like them but that isn't a reason to tear them down.

Jane, do you have new management at your store?

Amy, do you use your hot tub often?

Lloyd, we are cooler in this morning than you are.  With those big bales you no longer have to manually pick them up like we used to have to do with the small bales.

Gloria, we did note a few trees yesterday that are beginning to show some color.  My azalea bushes in front of my house are blooming again.  They also bloom in the Spring.

Laundry is out blowing on the line now..won't be long till it is dry in this weather.

I use my hot tub often, more so in the winter. Love being in the hot tub and watching the snow come down. We have the hot tub in an enclosed area, not out to the elements like some.

Gloria, Kyle and I were stuck in an elevator in the hospital for over an hour!! Lightning stuck the hospital putting two elevators out of commission. I certainly don't want that to happen again .

Dust bunnies to corral ...better scoot..

I will try and nap this afternoon.  My iPad is giving me some trouble.  Joe - son - is away until Monday so I will have to wait for him to get working properly.  Hopefully you can all enjoy your day.

Joan:  You need to fit in a nap.  Still so nice to see you posting.

Gloria:  I could punch anyone who would say there was no Holocaust - we toured Sachsenhausen in Germany - that is right next to a small town and there is no way anyone living in the area "did not know".  They tested shoes on prisoners by having the poor souls walk all day long - on very few calories.

Jenny:  We sure are concerned when the young ones leave for school anymore.  Are you coming to see your dad?  After this month, it will cool a bit.

Hal:  You are not stupid.  There are just too many distractions and nothing is simple anymore.

I had a wonderful dinner last night.  A bowl of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips sprinkled on top.   8)  Real life is back today but it was a fun idea.

Don is outside cleaning the yard from the javalinas - spraying ammonia isn't helping.

Amy:  did you catch the dust bunnies?

It has been a long, busy, interesting day, and I am ready for evening to arrive. We had our yearly Senior Health and Wellness Expo. Very well attended with people from all over the area. Rod Carew and his wife spoke to us for over an hour. It was very touching. He had a heart transplant..a young boy died just as Carew was dying. He said the little boy was living on, in Carew's body, and he  is thankful for the boy every day of Carew's life. His wife also spoke. Extremely touching..I know my eyes were not dry. Tim Conway , a radio Talk Show host also entertained, but I didn't stay for that...too much going on. It started at 10 a.m. and closed at 2:30.  Free Food booths and other outside booths all around the gardens, a cooking class in the huge fountain patio, two raffles, it was quite a display.  I had lunch then came home about two o'clock, all tired out.

Now I will see if this will post.

OH what a thrill it is to see my post pop up. My son Dan spent about two hours with me working on the computer on Thursday, and I may be still working at home. He has saved the computer just like mine so he may be able to do more "stuff" on his own. I don't understand it all,  but he said I do NOT need a new computer or a new lap top as my girl here suggested. He and his wife Nancy will be coming out the first part of next month, so he can do "hands-on" work then.

Janie, I'm concerned about what is happening with your company. So many places are selling out to foreign concerns now, we can't be sure of anything permanent any more.

Mycheal, I am trying to remain optimistic about when my computer will keep printing or not. Today has been extremely encouraging. It seems so strange that I can print normally in other areas of Srs. and Friends, but the Soda Shoppe gives me trouble. It all seems to have been start about the firs of this month.

Bis, it is such a thrill to see your posts pop in, I'm glad Joe will be home on Monday, so he can keep you on line. It is like a dream come true having you back with us again. You went through a really rough time, but God did it for us again. I thank you Father God for your loving kindess.

Larry, I still have Chrome on my computer, and Dan said to just leave it there. It doesn't help me in any way, but Dan said it does not harm anything, and he and I both prefer Safari.

JUNE my problem is totally personal.  I have some limitations to deal with and I cnt seem to get a general concensus.  One person will agree with me and the next one doesn't know what I'm talking about.  It's a huge lack of communication!  I think it's been handled and the next time it isn't.  But I'm nothing if not stubborn.  I'll make it work!

Hal,  I was  beginning to think it was a bad idea for OKState to play Texas in Austin the week after OU beat them in Dallas.  Sure was a "squeaker".
I wasn't sure I could deal with two over-time games in one day but the Sooners pulled it out over K-State - literally in the last 4 seconds!!!!

During the last few minutes of the OU game I was eating dinner, watching the game and the weather (tornadoes in the state) via split screen on tv and texting with my son!
And I've been saying I can't multi-task any more  :crazy2:

Although we knew she was very ill her death us unexpected. It was like losing one of my own kids.
I know Frank, her father, was waiting for her when she arrived in heaven.

I am going to bed, good night, God Bless and sweet dreams.

Oh, callie, I was watching the OU game just before supper and switched channels when I sat down to eat, so I missed the whole game........

Thank you for your words of sympathies.  My grief is nothing compared to her husbands.  He has been there with her since their honeymoon, when she came down with MS.  He is a champion among champions.

Our front has not arrived nor any rain.  The weather guy says we have a cap lingering over us which will not allow the rain to develope.

I am almost ready for church and the good Lord knows I need it this morning.

Good morning everyone, going to be another beautiful day in the 70's here.  Just heard the latesr forecast and looks like Tuesday things will change, rain wind and maybe thunderstorms. Oh well this springlike weather cannot last all winter.

HAL  I might get down the 2 flights of stairs with a cane but I would never be able to walk much with a cane and nothing to hold onto with my other hand. I cannot even pick up my rollator, never mind trying to take it down stairs with me.

LARRY  with the storm forecast here for Tuesday and Wednesday, if it gets as windy as the forecaster says  the leaves will be down before they reach their peak of color. Most likely branches will come down and power will be off.

AMY  I think I would panic if I was stuck in an elevator for any length of time.

JOAN  nothing worse than having  an iPad or PC act up when that is your only way of keeping in touch with cyber friends. Hope yours holds up till Joe gets there to check yours out.

CAROL  I get angry when people try to say things like the Holocaust never happened. I well remember in the movies at the end of WW2  when the prisoners were freed and how they looked like walking skeletons. That was so sad, I was only a kid then and I cried when I saw them. Just do not understand younger people these days. Not all feel like that.

JANE  I sure hope your problem at work is resolved this coming week.

JUNE  looks like you had a busy morning yesterday.

CALLIE  saw on the news about the storms in Oklahoma. I hope you and your family are all OK.

HAL  sad news for sure about your friend's daughter.

LLOYD  enjoy your Sunday and a day of rest.

Hi Everyone.  It is another mirror morning to what we have been having.  We should get into the low 80's this afternoon.  I plan on going to Sunday School and Church this morning but am doubtful that Pat will go as the chairs and pew are painful for her with her back.  I will pick up some lunch for us and have no other plans for today.  Yesterday for dinner Pat made a Greek Salad to go with our pot roast TV dinner, which was actually pretty good for a TV dinner.

Amy, is your husband able to use the hot tub with his heart condition?  I found years ago that being in a hot tub left me feeling very weak.  Being stuck in an elevator would be a bit frightening.

Joan, sorry to hear you are having trouble with your iPad and hope Joe will be able to set it right.  Have you powered it back off and on?  I have found I need to do that once in a while with my iPad and iPhone when something stops working as it should.

June, I attended a couple of the Senior Health and Wellness days at our Senior Center where we did live and it was good.  Is Rod Carew the former baseball player?  Receiving a transplant would have to leave the donee very humble and grateful. Nice to read your interesting posting again and it looks like all is well with your posting efforts. I think the browser we prefer relates to the one we are used to using.  I am using the MS Explorer on Pat's old laptop, which is something I haven't used for years.  It is working well whereas the Chrome browser kept locking up on that computer.  I have also used the Safari and a number of other browsers over the years.

Callie, it sounds like you did a pretty good job multitasking.  It is always nice when the teams we support win.

Hal, it is always upsetting to get such news of a death that hasn't been expected.

Lloyd, I hope you are sending over some of your rain as we sure need it.  We do have forecast a good possibility for rain tomorrow.

Gloria, sure hope you don't have any bad storms and just some rain.

Good  Sunday morning Everyfriend.  No sun, but it least the predicted storm hasn't arrived.  Larry--I tried powering down, but that didn't change things.  Bless those who are dealing with problems/grief.  I wish Everyfriend a blessed Sunday.

and enjoy this beautiful weather while we still
have it.

All is well here.

Wow, can't believe this weather.

Gloria, I do like your idea of this weather lasting till March tho  I would say if you have to get out and down those stairs I would fold up the rollator and drag it behind me one step at a time. Then you would have it at the bottom to use.

Larry, no he doesn't use the hot tub...just me .
I have friends that have to keep their hot tub at a cooler temp due to his heart condition too.
I think today is a great day for a country drive..

It is raining here now.  Hopeflully it won't delay my children's flights back here to Alabama - Joe from Arkansas and Linda and Ed from CA.  Today would have been Ray and my 57th wedding anniversary.  I am recalling memories.

Joan:  Hugs for you and sweet memories today.

Amy:  Enjoy your drive in the country.

Today is another marathon on the main road out of here.  It is roller blades this time.  This is a popular meandering road that is used for many events and today, they blocked a bit too many exits so everyone was driving all over just to get in and out of the neighborhood.

temperatures have been around 10 degrees higher than normal this entire month and the weather people say this last day of October, it should be back to normal.  so they say.

We asked a neighbor couple over today late in the afternoon so we should be able to sit outdoors.

Amy:  Cayenne pepper - that is an idea.

Hal:  My sympathy to you on the loss of a good friend.

Carol--Thanks.  I've been recalling many good times today.  The storm has knocked the cable out, so it is mighty quiet inside, but loud from the storming outside.

Janie, You sound so much like me, personality wise, that is. We KNOW we are right, we are sensible, we want is best for everyone, but "others" just don't see beyond the end of their nose. It is very, very frustrating. Today, I got a message.
God said, "June, quit fighting…..you are one person, you may be right, you may be wrong. Just remember, I am God, and MY Will, will be done. Be thankful, that I, as God ,am in charge and MY will, will be done."
What a "release" that was Janie. Just put the whole mess in HIS hands dear one, ask for HIS guidance, and you will find Peace, my sweet friend.

Callie, I am giggling over your message to Hal. It really makes my heart happy that you can find such interest in the football games. I am lost myself, but is a joy to me to see your interest. We had a speaker at Church today, and he roused up a portion of our congregation by mentioning the football times here in Ca…some of the congregation actually cheered at his words. So hang in there girl and keep multi-tasking.

Hal, don't be sad for the girl that died,my dear friend. Think of how she is being held and hugged by her father who went before her. I am praying for her husband. He must be a very gracious man,to have suffered with her during this time of illness. He is one of God's Heroes.

Gloria, dear heart, I too can go for a short distance with my cane, and since I have two canes, I find I can go even more securely for short distances. I must have my rollator for distance walking as my legs cramp up, and I must have the seat to recover on. The stairs are what frighten me….I sort of "freeze up" if I try stairs.

Larry, yes, Rod Carew was a rather famous baseball player. He and his wife were both very inspiring speakers. I know nothing about baseball, but as Human beings, they are wonderful people.

Bis, for reasons unknown to me, this has been a very special Sunday to me. God was very active in my personal life, and I am thankful.  Some things we must accept as a gracious gift, without really understanding the "why". weather is great out here today Bis…flights should be no problem for Linda and Ed. In fact we are expecting a heat wave..in the low hundreds for the next two days.

I'm back... from my 3rd trip this month.  Fading fast so will make this short.  I didn't get all the way back to the last posts I read (which was on Thursday, I left for MO on Friday).  A family reunion this time, my father's side.  Had about 30 show up, counting nieces & nephews with some of their kids/grandkids.  My brother was the oldest at this gathering (92)... he was driving his wife's car & has always been a lousy driver, didn't improve with age.  :2funny:  He wasn't familiar with her car, one of the keyless that does everything but dance.  Good fun, nice to see everyone & see that the next generation down enjoys getting together.

Lloyd, I was at the Lake (Long Shoal Corp of Eng campground) between Warsaw & Clinton last night. We had rain from about midnight on but not a lot of wind.  My site was under a walnut tree & those tennis ball size green walnuts made a thud when they hit the top of the RV.  I had not counted on it being so dark so late, had planned to go to church in Clinton but was too dark & rainy ... and I saw a lot of dead deer on the highway & side roads so not even tempted to drive after dark or before daylight.

Larry, I had a problem years ago when we went into the hot springs pool... my body/heart felt like I was melting.  The showers in the towns in CO where we camp all use the "natural hot springs water"... really feel scalded.  There was talk about running a pipeline of the hot water down the center of the main street to keep the snow melted all winter.

I haven't gone back far enough to see why you are going to slide down those steps, Gloria.... but highly recommend a big box folded flat... makes a great sled going down flight after flight.  Sounds like thunder in a 3 story school when all the halls are empty & kids in class.  My cheerleading buddy & I were to make ceiling tall images of the Sadie Hawkins people for a dance.... (girls ask the boys)... going to wire the figures to the posts in the lunch room to "give it character".  We had to get those boxes from 3rd floor art room to the 1st floor cafeteria... easiest way was to "ride them to the next level".... we didn't think about it making as much noise as it did so as soon as we hit a landing we raced off to the rest rooms located at the end of every stairs.  Teachers doors were flying open to see what was going on & we stayed in the restroom (couldn't see the boxes laying on the steps)... giggling until all was quiet so we could go down the next flight.  My buddy was full of ideas & I was a willing 2nd banana.   :cheer:  Bet you could hang onto your rollator & just call for someone to pull you up when you get to the bottom.  No problem at all.   :dizzy:

Joan, remember the good times but now & then thinking back of some of the bad times, they don't seem so bad anymore.  Can't help but feel melancholy on these days.  Big hugs and best wishes for many happy days ahead, so glad you are back with us.

Hal, one of my worst nightmares is losing a child, I think we hurt even more for our friends when they are suffering.  It always helps me to think of all the loved ones waiting in Heaven with open arms.  When my last uncle died his oldest son was distraught with grief until I reminded him that "now they are all together again, picture the party!"  Big, big family, this uncle was the one that always organized the family gatherings so his son had a complete new image in his head.  This family was the huggiest bunch you ever saw, my sister & I used to laugh about how we ducked getting picked up & hugged all the time.  On my mother's side she had 7 living brothers & sisters (2 more died very young), plus 2 step brothers.  One of my older cousins had 12 kids so we had quite a crowd by the time I was pre-teen.  By the time this uncle died, Heaven was full of family members & their spouses.  Hope you can find a way to share your thoughts with the family.  Hugs to you.

My eye lids are falling, must give cats one more meal so I can go to bed.  Sweet dreams & hope the weather isn't too bad for all.
God Bless.  Shirley

Hi everyone, Shirley, I would tell you a story about family waiting for a loved one to join them.  People think I make up the story.   And to top things off my wife got a call that one of her club friends died today.  It was not unexpected.  This is one of the aspects of old age they don't talk about, more and more friends and acquaintances passing on.

Went over the one of the Grandkids homes for supper tonight.  Thomas fixed fajitas and sausage and all the trimmings.  It was really good, I enjoyed it.  Except, Thomas keeps that house so cold you could hang meat in it and I got a chill and didn't get comfortable till we got home.

Another doctors apmt and ultrasound early in the morning.  Ultrasound first then evaluation with the doctor on my Aorta.  I told my Grandson in law tonight I now know what God invented hangovers, to give you a picture of what old age is like.  Yes, in years past I had my share of hangovers until I developed some good old common sense and found God.

Nite, nite everyone, God bless and sweet dreams.

We thorough lt enjoyed going don roads that we haven't traveled in 20 years, plus go by some of the places we have done work on.We stopped and had a delicious lunch which neither one of us could finish , even though it was a half order. Came home to company in the yard so we had tea and treats with them.

We're supposed to have a lovely, Springlike day today complete with rain this evening.  I'll take all of those I can get.

JUNE, you are so BLESSED!  I feel God's presence often but he hs never revealed to me what he has to you.  I feel blessed just to be acquainted with you!

JaneS I got back in here and reading what has been posted today. looks Like AMY is having a good day driving her sweet heart around. also looks Like you are not awake yet either , you are spelling like i do not correctly. and that is ok
I got what you were trying to say I think also. I do not reamber well any more either. but we are getting close to getting our trust made, and selling out and doing traveling as long as we are able to. we intend to get a lower to the ground
pick up truck easy to get in and out of for Nancy, and a fifth wheel trailer to pull behind. park it in a trailer park and see the local aria. example in brothers back yard in Page A Z. and go see the sights in the aria. like when I was driving over the road , when I got to a place to deliver, they either wanted the load a week before i picked it up and griped about it or a week later. I never fused about it, I would just say ok is it ok if I stay out of your way and go through your plant and see how you all do things and how it as made. that usually worked alright. they would usually take me on a guided tour.  was instring. some of the ingredients in some of it if you knew you would not eat it. but you do now and think it is great stuff. Have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Wish we would get some of your rain.  Our front came through yesterday morning just as we were going into church and it sprinkling lightly, when we came out the sun was shnning brightly and that was our rain.

Got myself all cleaned up for my appointment this morning and if everyone shows up here at the house my wife will be pretty busy.  The garage door man is suppose to show up as well as a floor tile guy to give us an estimate on doing some tile in the bathroom.  Wife wants to put new carpet in the bedroom but wants tile in a small part of the alcove of the bath.  When we had the walk in shower and new commode done we also had new tile put in that part of the bath and I ask her why she didn't just do the other at that time, she said she liked the carpet there.  Well change of mind and bet it will cost as much again for the small portion she didn't want done.

Well guess I had better get a move on.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Everyone.  It looks like we are finely going to get some rain today, at least the forecast says it is a 100% chance this afternoon and 90% chance for several other hours.  It will only get to around 75 this afternoon.  My calendar is clear today so will just take it easy and work on a project I want to start here in my office.

Joan, sorry that my suggestion didn't work for you.  Perhaps installing the most recent software update will help with the problem unless you have already done that.  I hope you had a nice Sunday and know you are looking forward to seeing family again when they return from their trip to the West coast and from Arkansas. You and Ray were married about 20 months before Pat and I married.

Sandy, hope you enjoyed your time out of your apartment yesterday.

Amy, I would have been surprised if your husband had been up to using your hot tub.  I see you had an enjoyable country drive yesterday and then to be able to spend time with friends was a nice way to end the afternoon.

Carol, I do hope it cools a bit for you as know it can be pretty hot in Arizona this time of the year.

June, I try to follow the principle of would I rather be right or would I rather be happy and happy wins every time. We all have different viewpoints on things.  I am reading that many of the football stadiums for the pro games had a lot of empty seats.  I guess this demonstrates that action do have consequences.  Thanks for the info on Rod Carew.

Shirley, it sounds like you had a good time at the reunion.  You have been a traveling soul this month.  Do you have anymore trips planned? I am also concerned about deer here after dark but the last deer accident I saw happened during daylight hours.  Also the deer that ran into our car several years ago did so during the daylight hours.  I want my shower water to be moderate in temperature.  You really do have a large family.

Hal, I saw the passing of many friends from our coffee group as well as Church friends over the years as well as my family members. We haven't turned on our heat yet and our house has been chilly sometimes all day long.  In fact, I have a jacket on as I am typing as just wasn't comfortable in shirt sleeves. We men know that women always have the right to change their mind.  :)

Jane, I like your "incoming" to "outgoing" idea.  I seem to be able to fill up my desk side trash can at least twice a week.

Lloyd, check to see that you are signed in to the Soda Shoppe.  Unless you are you will not see the posting box.  However, since you found a way to post you must have found the box.  It sounds like you had some interesting tours in factories when you were driving a truck.  I do hope you and Nancy can see a lot of the country after you sell out.

Larry some days i do not know for sure what day it is or what time it is,spend a lot of time in the where after. and i know the hardest part of work is getting started. but it gets daily harder to even get to thinking about getting motivated.
how ever I just take one day at a time, and spend a lot of time on the couch watching a good western on YouTube, not a bad job, except I get in trouble  running in to Nancy's programs. she doesn't holler soon enough all we would have to do is pose what I am doing and watch hers. Have a great day.

Good morning everyone, it is foggy here this morning, no wonder I had trouble getting started. After the beautiful days we have had with low humidity my back did not hurt so bad but this morning it is acting up.

AMY  my rollator is big and bulky, I do not have the strength to fold it, it is not one that folds easy and light enough to carry. Heavier than the old walkers.

JOAN  hope your family all made it home safe. I hope you were remembering all the good times with Ray.

JUNE  I have 3 different canes but with my left shoulder with arthritis an can only use one in my right hand. Then more than 4 steps I feel like I will fall. Without the rollator I would be sitting all the time.

SHIRLEY  bouncing on the stairs like you did would not help my back much but sounds like you and your friend enjoyed it.

Hey, some good news for a change.  Got in early for my ultrasound and my doctors appointment and was out of the office an hour early.  Good things still do happen.  And even better, my test results show no changes and he will see me again in FIVE years.  I told him if he was still around and I was still around I would be back..... ;D  He actually for my age, my carotid arteries were in good shape and my aorta had no further enlargement and the enlargement I had was not that bad.

My garage door guy got here early this morning and got everything working like it is suppose to and the tile guy came spot on time and will email us an estimate later today.

So all in all so far it has been a good day.  Who says the good Lord doesn't answer prayers.

WOW Hal, what a great day you have had!! Nice to get good news from the Dr too.

Rained for a bout 5 min here but I think we will get more later this evening.

Shirley, have you ever used cardboard to go down a grass hill? My you go like greased lightening  on cardboard....some times parting ways with the cardboard and then you have to explain the grass stains on your britches.

Oh, YES, Amy, and about everything in between.  Have you tried sitting on a shovel & holding the handle in front of you to slide down hill on?  Can get kinda risky if you hit a bump & that handle turns around.  Now I have my "Sno nut" to ride down the hill when enough snow.  I don't plan to grow up for a while .....  :bravo:

Hal, congratulations for a good report & good day!  We do learn to appreciate those times, huh, and are we going to tell that story???

Gloria, I do hate watching your body betray your spirit.... I know you do everything you can to keep yourself up & running and am out here cheering you on.  No doubt my time will come but I am sharing my wild days with y'all because I do think most of us are still (if only in our head) young people caught by years.

What a shame we didn't have the time or money back when our bodies could handle everything .... now when we don't have kids to take care of ... we grow an anchor on our legs.  But in our cyber world we can all do what we please, some enjoyed camping (okay, Joan, not your piece of pie, huh?) and can picture being out there with me, just like I love hearing about what everyone else is doing.

I finished bringing stuff in from the RV & cleaned out the different storage places & discovered some out of date foods.  Don't plan to stock up & leave foods out for the next trip.... appetite changes.  Got out the ladder to check the antenna... think a wire is loose as I could not get any TV at the campground & did another channel search in the driveway (had to plug power cord in) & channels were not as good as always.  I'm one tired old lady tonight but want to trek down to the river to see if we had too much rain to get out to the water edge to feed the fish.  I do have a long walking pole I use for getting down the bank without sliding  ::)  ... & the cats enjoy me leading the way.  I feel a little safer having that long pole in case the wildlife wants to challenge my rights to be there.

I got a little over 8 hours sleep last night, think that is the first time since wearing a Fitbit.  Needed to catch up.  Have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow, routine 8 month check on their valve replacement.  I'm anxious for his opinion about oxygen for higher altitudes... my numbers used to be 98 all the time but dropped to 74 for 3 days & finally went up to 83 the rest of the trip.  It is staying between 94-96 since getting home.  Do not know what is "normal", but since none of my stats fall in "normal" range, I'm not too concerned.  I'm not a good patient.   :crazy2:   Cats are waiting to eat... check in before bedtime.  Y'all behave.

Gloria, I am fortunate that I have no shoulder problems, but I would never venture out of apt. with canes…I need my walker/rollator at all times. My balance is so poor, I actually "freeze in place" if I start out with nothing to touch.

Hal you surely did get wonderful news from your doctor today, I am so very happy for you.

Janie, Thank you for being so happy in sharing my day yesterday. I wish the same for you my dear friend. Today was two steps back…just not "up" like yesterday, but I am not complaining, believe me. Yesterdays Joy left me a bit worn down today.

Bis, I am sorry to read you had a bad night. Weather can really be a disturbing force at times, and especially in the night hours. Did all the kids make it safely home today?

Time for me to decide on supper. I am not hungry, and they serving heavy meat meals downstairs, so I plan to open a can of soup tonight.

I do hope this will post. If not, I'll try again later.

Shirley, my Dad was in ICU, just a couple of beds over from where my Mother died.  His heart had stopped several times before I arrived.  We were only allowed in ICU a couple of  us at a time, so we were rotating in and out.  Dad was so weak he couldn't talk.  Memories of my Mom's passing kept popping into my head.  I was standing there beside Dad's bed and holding his hand and such a feeling of peace and comfort came over me and then my Mother spoke to me that she and others were waiting for Dad so don't worry.  It was a feeling that is beyond description the only way I can describe it as a quite, warm, peaceful feeling that I had never felt before or since.  But of one thing I am sure, there is a God and he does let some come back to reach out to us.

I wasn't able to tell my family what I had experienced because my Mom and Dad had divorced many years back.  He had two children with my stepmom and of course my half brother and sister had no real knowledge of my life with their father and my mother.  I finally did tell my sister in law about my experience but I am not sure she really believed me.  The only family I really have now is the half bother and sister.  And we do keep in touch and my bother and I got together some years back in our hometown and just drove around and reminiscence and I took him around to some houses, where houses used to be and told him a bit about my life not going into my mom's  or dad's life together.

Anyhow that is my story and more background than I planned on telling and which more than likely bored you to death.  I will add one more thing, my lifestyle didn't change overnight but the encounter I had that night in ICU did influence in changing my life.  God has been good to me, if no other way, by having patience with me.  Like I tell my friends in bible study I will never learn all I need to know about the bible and I am still a learner.

It seems we all have stories to tell.  My favorite one goes back a very long way.  I was only 4 years old when my great aunt passed away.  That night I told my mother not to be sad because Aunt Grace was in heaven.  She asked me how I knew that and I told her that I saw a nice lady helping her up on a cloud.  She asked me what the nice lady looked like and I described my great grandmother perfectly.  This would have been Aunt Grace's mother and my grandfather's mother.  She died 15 years before I was born.  I never even saw a picture of her.  My mother said she never doubted that Aunt Grace and Gran Hoffnagle were both in heaven.

And now, Good night my friends! Sleep peacefull, wake refreshed and may God bless us, every one!

Okay, Hal & Jane, I believe and have similar experiences myself as well as my father (even though he didn't know at the time).  Middle of the night my brothers got word of our oldest brother died... almost same instant my brother that lived in town where Dad was still living (Mother had died the year before)... had a call from Dad telling him to "come immediately" (middle of the night).  My brothers had decided NOT to call Dad that night to tell him about Bobby dying & didn't call my sister or me.  So Harold raced over to Dad's house (he was living alone).... and was stunned when Dad explained that he thought he was dying because "Mom told me not to worry, she would take care of everything".... and reached out her hand to him.  So Harold stayed with him until the other brother got there and they told him about Bobby.  They were grinning with each other as they told me about his vision and said "seemed almost relieve HE wasn't dying that night".  Bobby had a cancer & given 6 months to live but lasted about a year & half, so we all expected he could go at any time.  Dad lived several more years but I do think the vision he had that night made a huge difference for the rest of his life.

I had a connection (not sure what to call it), with my grandmother twice.  One night I got up & checked the thermostat because I was burning up.... went through the house trying to figure why I was so hot & temp on the thermostat not high at all, I was sure the house was on fire.  Next morning I read in the local paper that a nursing home my grandmother was in had burned during the night and an Emma Smith died. My Gr-mother's name was Eva Smith... so I called my mother to see if they had heard anything.  The nursing home had let them know already that Grandma was fine.

A couple years later I got out of bed because I had pain in 4 places, arm, left side of head, inside & one other place, can't remember now.  Mother called next morning to say Grandma fell out of her bed, hurt her head, arm, spleen & still can't remember the other injury.... I couldn't drive the nearly 300 miles to see her because of an ice storm, so after 3 days of her barely staying alive, I mentally told her good by and that I was sorry we could not come.  At the time I made that decision the phone rang & it was Mother telling me Grandma was "gone".  I've never had that contact/connection with anyone else, even my own parents or brothers when they died, but it happened & left me with a belief that God is in control, trust him no need to be afraid.

Jane, we are so much alike, always said that... and your story makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!  I know my visions
were un-nerving, so before I heard from my mother I told my next door neighbor about my pains the night before. She often came
over for coffee as soon as our husbands left for work & kids off on the bus for school.  I know she believed me after the phone call from my mother ... I had pointed out those injuries BEFORE Mom's phone call... I just thought I had something wrong with me.

Hal, the same peace hit me when I told Grandma that we couldn't get there, I knew I'd never see her again, until we meet again. I am counting on going to Heaven, not been perfect but know God does forgive when we are sorry we don't always do exactly what we should.   :angel4:   Past my bedtime, hugs all around, God Bless.  Shirley

Good morning everyone, well the rain has started as the weather guessers said it would. No going outside for fresh air today.

HAL  how good to see you had good news yesterday. Wonderful. Keep up the good work.

AMY  I remember when my 3 got those causers for Christmas. We had quite a snow after that and they had so much fun sliding down the hill in the yard I had to try it, too. Itr was more fun than a sled.

SHIRLEY  it gets me mad that I cannot do the things I have done for years. Sitting amd watching the CNA's do my work makes me feel useless at times. One would think by now they would have found something to ease the pain of arthritis. Would  have loved going camping with you, wwe would have had a ball for sure.

JUNE  like you I cannot get up from sitting without holing onto something so always have my rollator ready.

HAL  God blessed you letting your Mom talk to you.

Been awake most of the night so think I will see if I can get a few Zzzzz's

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We have had some unusual encounters in our lives, haven't we.  I love sharing them with all of you.  God is with us every day of our lives.  And, like SHIRLEY, I haven't always done as God would have me do.  But He knew when he gave us our free will that we would use it.  That's why He mad forgiveness possible.  We will all meet in heaven and we're going to make a JOYFUL NOISE together!

I'm off to work this morning, then home to take care of the doggies, grab some lunch and head for Senior Afternoon at the movies with my friend.  After the movie, I have a package to deliver to my grandniece at her college so she can deliver it to my sister.

after that,  I'll probably conk out!

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks to all who shared their experiences with us.  As I said in my post God does allow some in his Kingdom to have a brief encounter with those of us on this side.

We are suppose to have a glass man come this morning and replace some smoky, moisture ridden windows (five of them).  That pinches the old bank account.

We are having some outstanding weather.  The kind that makes you feel great just being alive.  Back when I was physically able I loved being out and doing physical labor cleaning, repairing (and even a little painting) and maybe make a trip to the garden shop.  But no more physical work, just enjoy the great weather.

Next project is getting new carpet for two of the bedrooms.  The carpet layers did a lousy job stretching it, it was not the best carpet, just priced like it was.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning on this pretty sunny morning.  We did get some rain overnight, but it looks like it is all gone now.  And, the temperature is still in the low 60's this early.  So, it will probably get warmer this afternoon.

Then, they are calling for some colder temperatures...... more like it should be.  However, the past couple weeks sure have been nice.

Good morning to Jane, Amy and Lloyd this morning.  You all are up and "at em" early, as usual.

Hal,  happy that you got such good news.  I know that really boosted your spirits.

Nothing much exciting happening in my little corner.  Not sure what I will get into today.  Need to wake up, first. LOL  Just takes me so long to get myself moving.  I did not sleep very well last night, so I am sure a nap will be coming a little later.

Hope everyone will have a great Tuesday.

Joy

I don't have a story of my own, but Norm told of when he had bypass surgery in 1976.  He said he saw a white light and then went down a tunnel.  I don't remember what happened after that, maybe he didn't remember but he mentioned it every so often.

We had rain all of yesterday and last night and it's supposed to rain all of today (heading your way, Amy).  Our pond is quite high but not like it was in 1986 when it came to within a foot of my patio; it rained every day of September 1986.  We went so long with no rain that it really is welcome.

Hi Everyone.  We finally had some rain yesterday afternoon although it didn't last too long.  Today is to be sunny all day and only get into the low 70's.

Our big event today will be the arrival of Pat's sister to spend about 8 days with us.  It has been touch and go as to whether she would be able to make the trip as is still dealing with the impact of the car wreck she was in a couple of weeks ago.  However, she decided yesterday to make the trip and should be here a little after 5 pm.  She did come to visit  about this time of last year. Our granddaughter plans on coming out and going to the airport with me to pick her up and then we will go to dinner at Pizza Hut as this is their buffet night.

Lloyd, I am sure you have earned time on the coach considering all the years you have worked so hard.

Joan, I hope those storms have passed you by today.  We were under tornado watch all afternoon and evening and tornados did damage in Spartanberg and perhaps some other places on East of us. Sure hope you were able to get some good sleep last night.

Hal, that was good medical news for you.  It sounds like you will be around for quite awhile. Thanks for sharing your experiences with your family at the passing of your father.

Shirley, I hope you always remain so young at heart and enjoy life as you seem to have done and do.

Had to take a break and go to Costco to stock up so the ladies don't have to worry about what we will have for a main meal.  Fortunately, I got a cart but it still is a job.

Jane and Shirley, you both have had interesting experiences with the passing of relatives.

Gloria, hope you can get an extra nap in today.

I haven't mentioned everyone today as have run out of energy and there will be another day.  I found all of the postings interesting.

Hal, thank you for sharing the vital information on your experience with your parents deaths. It brought back a memory I had not thought of for years. My daughter was 13 years old when she died. And there was time that her voice came to me, saying, "Don't cry Mama". And I felt my sorrow was making her feel sad, so I quit it…said "Thank you, God", instead.

My Janie, thank you for sharing your experience too. It is really inspiring, and gives hope to the hopeless. And what a beautiful memory for you. Your Mother must have been ecstatic .

Tisie, big hugs to you too girl. We are having "learning lessons", and what an enormous joy it is to share.

Gloria, I'm so glad there are rollators. We've "come a long way baby" from our ancestors, who had to depend on wheel chairs, and before that..bed-ridden. The more we use these legs with the assistance of safety devices the longer they will last.

Janie, I'm looking forward to some Heavenly Hugs when we all meet "up yonder". I can just hear the various "Hey…..Hi there friend !" Wheeeeeeeeee

Amy…meet another Tom Boy. No girls in my neighborhood, so I played football with the guys. I didn't tackle, I did what they titled "ring neck". I would fly across the lawn, Jump into the air and tackle around their neck. I worked beautifully. My mother was a very experienced Nurse with me as her main patient.

Hal, you are putting a lot of $$ into your home, but it will make it much more salable when that time comes. I was awake at three a.m. today and thinking of all  the things I left behind as we downsized in home, and especially when I sold our last home. The kids always had their choice of "stuff" first, but so much I don't know where it ended up. I had a pitcher collection, and a tiny blue pitcher popped into mlnd, plus another miniature, cream colored with a hand painted flower on the side. Strange how the mind can hang onto things from the long past.

Bis, we are having a late in the season heat wave, the third day of 100+ temps. Today is 109 and I have the A/C purring away. I'm glad you present storm has passed, you need some cheerful sunshine in your area.

A good Tuesday afternoon HELLO!

It is a blustery day here.  We have had a bit of rain off and on, but tomorrow it is really going to pour.

Yesterday we went in the city and the fog was so thick you could hardly see your hand in front of your face.  We went to the JFK Presidential Library.  It is right on the harbor but we could not see a thing with all the fog.  I was certainly disappointed as the views are a part of the beauty of the place.

Son Mark called from California telling us of the wild fires in the LA area.  He said it was so hot last night that they could hardly sleep as it was 95* at 2 AM.  We pray for their safety as the winds are sending sparks a flying all around them.

LARRY, I do hope Pat’s Sister arrived safely and she did well on the flight.

Blessings to all and enjoy your evening.

Jenny

Listened to the wind blow through the pines last night.just couldn't get to sleep. Cat nap in order or early to bed tonight!
We are off to the city to get shirts for hubby, he has lost so much weight that his shirts look like a tent on him.

Lloyd, I have always enjoyed working outdoors, my Dad taught me early on how to hold and use a hammer proper. In winter we would make sinkers and tie jigs for fishing.I still have the sinker and jig mold.

Better get a move on

Enjoy your day everyone..

the instant weather says 25 mph 35º and clear, not so on the wend it is bearliey wiggling the leaves on the maple trees. the leaves are still on them. not much collier in them still mostly green, It is the time we get the lower temps. maybe after Nancy and I get our trust in order and get the Place sold and a life time right in order, we can get pas port's and come see you all and if it isn't too far to a good fishing spot you can take us fishing. we plan on going lot's of places where we can park the travel tailor and and use the pickup to sight see. It is so sad so many people have gone crazy and we cant just cross the borders and friendly visit.  we Have friends and Kin up there makes it hard to stay in touch. I best quit before I get a book written. c u later.

Good morning Everyfriend!  I didn't get in last night because the TV put me to sleep and I was stumbling around with night time prep and just didn't feel up to it.

I have an appointment with a volunteer at the senior center to see if I can do anything about the high cost of health insurance.  The way things are going financially around here this year, it's probably a waste of time but I'm grabbing at straws.

Amy, I hope you find shirts to take the place of the tents your hubby is being forced to wear.  Dragging around tents all day can be a chore!

Lloyd, I hope you get all your property things done so you can spend next Spring, Summer and Fall seeing the USA....and parts of Canada.

We're waiting out the doggies pills so I think I'll do a puzzle or two while I wait.  Take today and make it a good one!

Hi Everyone.  It is going to be another beautiful day with it getting only to 68 degrees.  Pat's sister did arrive on schedule and said this was the best plane ride she had ever had in coming to Georgia and South Carolina.  The plane actually arrived a few minutes early but she was one of the last to deplane.  She had arranged for a wheel chair and apparently when she got to Atlanta the second plane was ready to be boarded and the redcap wheeled her right into the plane.  We came home and picked up Pat and then went on to Pizza Hut for the Tuesday night buffet. As Pat went too pull up her chair at the table she did something and brought on a very sharp pain and now is left with another very sore leg.

Today is our son's 54th birthday and he is starting a weeks vacation from his job.  In the middle of the afternoon we are going to go to the Outback Steakhouse for his birthday dinner. Afterwards I am sure they all will play some Farkle games as they all enjoy it.

http://www.advocatesc.org/2017/10/side-by-side-couple-in-80s-crafts-quilts-for-children-in-need/

June, it sounds like you had an enjoyable childhood.  I think quite often about how we will get rid of all the things we have accumulated over the years when that time comes.  I really don't worry about it as things always have a way of working out and I know there are people who handle estate sales.  Our son sure doesn't need anymore stuff in his house although he might like some of our furniture.  I saw that it ws 103 degrees in LA when they started the World Series baseball game last night.  That is the first game I have watched all of this season and then only saw the beginning innings.

Jenny, I sure hope that Mark doesn't experience problems with the fires.  Pat's sister did have a good flight, as I indicated above, and things all worked out. We were not certain until late Monday evening whether she would be coming or not.  Sorry your sightseeing is being impacted by the fog and rainy weather up your way.

Amy, I think the article I posted the link to above will be of interest to you since I know you do similar work with your quilts.  Are you keeping track of how many quilts you have made and donated?  Hope you sleep better tonight.

Lloyd, my SIL said the winds were quite high yesterday as they flew from the Kansas City airport.

Jane, I hope you get some favorable news on the health insurance business.

Good Morning Everyone from the  overcast, rainy, cool,
  rocky coast of Maine.

Of all of the seasons to visit New England,  we are in or
coming upon the worst.   I was born in November and the weather on my birthday is never good.      Sad because we have so many beautiful
times of the year that make for better visiting and viewing.

Hopefully Jenny,  you will have an opportunity to come and
visit your son after he has lived here for a while and
gets to know the area.  I always recommend a coastal drive from
Massachusetts up to BarHarbor Maine.   And if the coast doesn't do
it for you,  we have some beautiful Mountains in Mass, NH, Vermont,
and Maine.

But of course,  I am partial to New England,  having lived
here most of my life.    The other areas that I lived,
the west coast Florida and Port Townsend,  Washington
were great places to live for a short period of time,  but home
has always been New England for me.   (As I am
sure that Colorado is for you) ..

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your stay here,  but
weather wise (????)  we can only hope for the best
during this off season.

Have a good day, Everyone,

Good  morning everyone, going to be a busy day, CNA will be here soon and then a nurse will be here and then I go down stairs for my flu shot, also laundry day. Still raining, second day of it but is not as bad as the weather guessers predicted. Glad my AC is still in, been running it on the dehumidify setting just to keep the humidity down in here.  Not thinking yesterday, filled my big slow cooker with cut up apples for applesauce and they cooked slow overnight. Smells yummy in here but now have to put them through the food mill and hope i have room in the freezer for all of it. No time for comments so will read about your adventures. Never had anything exciting happen in my life, nothing to look back on and share. Seems like from the day I turned 16 my life was just work and more work. The best thing I have had is my 3 children.

MARY ANN  one of my brothers had a massive heart attack and after he survived he always talked about the tunnel and light at the end and our Mother telling him to go back , it was not his time yet.  I believed him but many did not. He was not the kind to make up stories like that.

AMY  been there with the wearing tents. Think I finally got rid of all the tents. Lost 55 pounds and not because I was trying to either.

Good Wednesday morning, Everyfriend.  It is sunny , but according to the TV it is unusually chilly - for here - today.  Joe Finlay stopped here for a short visit about supper time, yesterday.  They were on there way to eat out and to Finlay's basketball practice.  Kate is in Oklahoma on business, so the guys are eating suppers out.  I wish you ALL a Good day.

Good Morning,

Joan -  hope Kate wasn't in Oklahoma last Saturday night when tornadoes kept  touching down without warning!  Since then, we've had beautiful Fall weather - first freeze expected on Friday morning.

Almost everyone on my street have put out pumpkins and/or gourds to go with colorful mums in flower beds.
The mums in my front "pot garden" aren't doing too well but I have a "matched set" of pumpkins/gourds on either side of my garage door.  Along with a colorful garden flag, that's my contribution to the "décor".

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Gloria, it is interesting that our brothers had similar things happen involving their hearts.  I don't recall Norm saying anything about someone telling him to go back.  My most serious surgery was a hysterectomy and that certainly did not involve the heart.

It is a beautiful sunny day today, temp about 47 degrees.  I can take that easily.  We've had rain for three days, almost steady, seven inches that I've noticed so far but I know there is water in my gauge; I will go out on the deck soon to find out what our grand total is.

I keep losing my messages. Have read all of yours and enjoyed very much.

We are still having a heat wave, the third day of over a hundred degrees. No fires in our area..clear skies, just a lot of warm winds.

Bis, your family is sure "on the go", and I'm glad they have the freedom to do so. I love living here for lots of good reasons, but what makes me most content is knowing it leaves the "kids" free to live their lives, knowing Mom is well cared for.

I know I wrote this before but I don't know where it disappeared. I went down for Bible study this morning. Gary was called in for yearly training for the Reserve Police men, so Jeff took over the Bible class. Jeff will be leaving tomorrow on a missionary trip to Africa, so we will be praying for him.

Before I lose this post I will post ! hope it works. June

I didn't go back to see where I posted last so if this is a repeat.... excuse, please, remember, I'm getting old-older. :idiot2:

Went to the Cardio appointment yesterday armed with questions... mainly about oxygen level at 8,000' & up.  His advice was "don't go up".  The nurse was shocked when I told her someone said you can buy oxygen in Walmart.... she insisted you must have a prescription for it.  So since my kids also said oxygen is available for athletes & climbers.... son even sent a link to buying it on Amazon & Walmart.  Now I have to wonder if maybe my doctor & nurse are not keeping up to date.

Today I called my primary doctor to set up one of those "wellness visits" that I have not done for years.  I never go unless I'm dying or injured/bleeding, but think it is time to see if there's another reason for the oxygen to drop so far all at once.  Won't know until December, he is booked so far ahead.

After spending quite a bit of time doing research online today, I'm still not sure if I can hit the vitamins/iron and up the oxygen level.  Don't want to be stupid about it, I had even told the boys this was probably the last year.... and then had to go back to check on old LaurenKat.  To be honest, I think my biggest problem is being told NOT to do something.   ::)  ... We'll see when the youngest son gets back from Singapore if they will consider a trip to MO instead.  I explained to the older one last night that "MO has good food, good fishing & fantastic campgrounds, we just have to go before it gets too hot.

Sorry about the rambling on.... a good night sleep and all will be better in the morning.    Sweet dreams to all, cats are inside right now but may want out for the last warm night if a while. We are expecting a freeze Friday night.     Shirley

Good evening......I am about to hit the hay, but wanted to stop in and say HELLO,

SANDY, we have been to Boston two times in October.  The first time was when we came to the PA Bash, shortly after 911.  The weather was beautiful then, and was when we first got here this time, but I do know it isn’t the ideal time weather wise. Tomorrow it is to be nicer and then again on our last day Friday. We came here some 30 years ago and I think it was in April. On the Bash visit we drove all the way down the coast from Canada to New York City.   It was a delight drive and we really enjoyed it very much.  I love any coast line drive so much.  I do know New England has delightful mountain drives as well.

Hopefully we will have many opportunities to visit here on several  different times of the year.

I wish you all a peaceful night of rest.  Sweet dreams.

Howdy!
Well here it is bedtime again and I am ready.  Last night was a pretty good night only up one time around 2:30 and got up and sit for about 30 Mins and back to bed and went back to sleep and slept until 7:30, I'll take that tonight.

Shirley the old oxygen runs out pretty fast at higher altitudes.  Just don't push your luck.  And that is all I am going to say on the subject.

Joanie, it is so good to see you posting nearly everyday.  I hope you are feeling stronger and improving each and everyday.

Larry I pulled out/on my light sweater again this morning, quite nippy and going to be for the next few days.  Warms up nicely at the day wears on.

Well folks, nite, nite, God Bless and Sweetdreams.

Shirley I can tel you some breathing exercises to do. as you know I was once married to a nurse. she was great in that field she worked at the children's home at Higgins vile Mo. for 30 years those children for the most part could not talk or say there own Name . take a slow deep in breath and hold it for a bit then let it out slowly. repeat several times. will keep your lungs in better shape.
you know the kettle calling the pot black to keep it in  good shape. i know what to do but do not practice it  enough my self. we have several good beds and you are welcome to use one of them  any time. I would go fishing with you. we have several good places to fish on the farm and close by.
stocked with bass croppie and blew gill. , Have a great day.

A good early morning to all the  S & N friends.

Just stopping by to say "Hi" and am thinking about going back to bed.  I don't usually get up this early.

A special Good Morning to Lloyd, who has already checked in and to Amy and Jane, who I am sure will be showing up very shortly.

I am expecting a visit early this morning from our maintenance man and a fire department person, just to check the smoke detectors and the sprinkling system.  So had to get up and get myself dressed.  This is done once a year.

I think our beautiful warm fall days have kind of gone by the wayside.  A little chilly this morning, and I will probably turn the thermostat up for a little bit to take the chill off.

Going to get some coffee and some breakfast.

To all the friends,  hope you have a wonderful day.

Joy

We had a great day yesterday and hubby got 4 shirts and all with dome fasteners, much easier for him to do up.Much easier for him to do up than the buttons.

Well those little jobs that should have been done yesterday will get done today.I hope.

Will be back latter..need to get going...

Enjoy your day everyone.

Hi Everyone.  It is to be another very pleasant, sunny and mild day.  We did have a fine time celebrating Scott's birthday yesterday.  We ate at Outback Steakhouse and we ended up with the largest dining bill I have ever paid but there were 5 of us and the food was good.  Today should be a calmer day.  I will pick up my friend and go to coffee and then stop at Walmart for a few items we need.  I don't plan on attending the Wisdom group at Church this morning.

Sandy, as you described your winters in Maine it again has made me glad I live in the South where I don't even need a snow shovel.  Of course, I would be afraid to use it even if I had it. I do understand that Maine is a beautiful State during the summer.

Gloria, it does sound like you were kept pretty busy yesterday. Does your CNA do your laundry for you?  I hope you found a place for that applesauce you made.

Joan, it sounds like Finley is at that age where he keeps his parents busy getting him to practices and places he needs to be.  I bet he enjoys eating out with just his dad on occasion as those can be special times. Your family there certainly are busy and do travel a lot.

Mary Ann and Gloria, I didn't have a white light experience with either of my heart surgeries but they did change my outlook on life and had a big impact on my emotions.

Callie, your flowers and decorations sound nice.  We need to get some fall artificial flowers for the little planter on the front porch as what we have there now is getting way out of season.

Hal, we had several window panes that the seal broke and they got cloudy in places.  I had the individual panes replaced and it was a bit expensive.  However, in this house I had to replace on of the lower window panels and the builder advised to just go to the building supply store and buy the whole lower section, which was much less expensive and involved no labor costs.

June, I hope you are staying out of that high heat that you are having outside.  I feel the same way you do about wanting our son to be free to live his life as he wants.  However, he is attentive to us and we know he is here if we need him.  We usually see him at least once a week.  He is on vacation this week so will see him a little more.

Shirley, when you have your wellness visit with your primary doctor perhaps you can get a second opinion on using oxygen at higher elevations.

Hal, I wore my jacket all day yesterday and sure need it again this morning.  Pat and her sister like the house to be cooler and if it were just me the furnace would be turned on to take the chill out of the house but not going to happen today.

Lloyd, do you an Nancy like to fish?  Of course, I know you usually stay so busy you probably have trouble finding time to do so even if you like to fish.

Joy, good idea to have the smoke detectors and sprinkling systems checked out once a year.

Amy, are dome fasteners like snaps?  I am not familiar with that term.

Good morning everyone, it is still raining. Had the AC on for the last 2 days and nights on the dehumidify setting. That has stopped the humidity building up in here.

JOAN  still warmer than nomal here. With all the rais the last few days it is more like spring than October. Is there any sport that Finlay has not been doing? Like the way he is so rounded in what his parents have had him doing. I love it. Much better that being inside with computers or video games like so many youngsters these days.

CALLIE  this building is decorated in the lobby, even to a life size pirate one of the ladies here owns. Outside on either side of the porch there is a hay bale, pots of mums, big pumpkins and small gourds sitting on the bales. Scarecrows  tied to the railings on the porch. They do get festive on holidays. Now if only the manager would be in a festive frame of mind.

MARY ANN  like you a hysterectomy was my worse surgery. Thankfully my heart is still good.

SHIRLEY  you are as bad as me, being told not to do something will make me want to do it more. Not always the smart thing to do though.

LARRY  yes my CNA does laundry and anything else needed. I now have 4 containers of applesauce in the freezer and one in the fridge for now. I spent a winter in northern Maine and that was beautiful, too.

Jane:  Even when you are not feeling sociable, you still are polite and friendly.

We treated my 2nd. cousin to pizza last night.  He is widowed, alone and really has no social life (his wife was never sociable) and he seems to fragile (in our opinion) to be living alone.  Having problems opening the garage door and really weak upon walking, getting in and out of the car.  the daughter lives in San Francisco and does visit but he sure could live better with some assistance.

Anyway, Don is not feeling well this morning.  I moped the kitchen floor and started laundry.  It should be the last day of 90 plus temps in Tucson.  I am grateful - mornings and nights are cool.  Read my daily devotions (it keeps me in line). We spent time at the VA yesterday and will be back - nothing but the finest care we have encountered at the Tucson VA and the other two VA's in two other states.

Lloyd, I saw my Dr. yesterday and said how I feel faint at times to I pant like a dog, and that helps. She said….as you mentioned…..to take a deep breath and hold it for a bit instead of panting. So I intend to try that for a while.

Joy, that is a nice service from your fire dept. to check out your smoke detectors. We never had that service in the other places where I lived.

Hal, we are down to 88 degrees for a high, do I hope it keeps cooling. I enjoy cold weather. You do have a good son Hal, and I'm happy he has a week off.

Bis, I'm still getting a big grin when your post pops up. God has surely answered our prayers.

This has been costume week at Rountree, and some of our ladies have really gone all out in their "dress-ups". I disposed of all that stuff when I moved here, with the exception of a red t-shirt with Patriotic design which I will wear tomorrow..Patriots Day. We have had Crazy Hat day, then Team Spirit day (lots of Dodger and Angel shirts and caps for that), Wacky Wed…anything odd and different, today is Western attire , and tomorrow Patriotic Day.

It is going on ten o'clock, so time to get out of the sleep clothes and into jeans and a shirt.

Good afternoon everyone!

Been kinda busy this morning.  Went to physical therapy and had a thorough evaluation, two therapist and a doctor. Checked my walking and balance along with muscle strength in my legs.  I go back next Tuesday for more evaluation and start some exercises.

It is another nice day here today.  Warm with a touch of cool in the air.  If we could just get a little rain I could be content with the weather all the time.

Janie, I hope things work out as you want them to.  I know if it involves family it is hard not to worry, but if it is work, just let things coast, they usually work out without the worry factor.

I didn't make it to breakfast/bible study today, two weeks in a row, I told my therapist that I hope she didn't schedule me on Thursday morning that I had bible study on that Thursday mornings.  She assured me that that would no problem.

Guess I had better get back to check book.  Need to finish that, from yesterday.

Poof went the day.....again!!! Either I am trying to do too much or I am too slow and not getting everything done that I would like to. Managed to get laundry on the line  and ironed when it came back in. Thought I just might sneak in a cat nap but that wasn't meant to be.Larry, I loved your story, sent it on to my quilty friends too.  Yes, domes/snaps are much easier to do and undo for him. He has neuropathy from the chemo in his hands/fingers and feet. Try doing your shirt buttons up with winter gloves on your hands and that the problem he has.
Jane, hard to let go...but let go and let God handle it.

Better go clean the kitchen up.

It sure has been quiet in here today. Where is everyone !!!!!!! I went down stairs about ten a.m. and Harvest Down had already started with music
bingo, so I grabbed a cup of coffee and a sweet roll, and went out to read and swing for a while.Had a nice phone chat with my Dori, and all of a sudden it was lunch time. Had a big lunch and afternoon entertainment started. We had husband and wife entertainers and they were great. Western music which was danceable so I danced. With my cart of course, and we had some linedancing too which was fun. Got home about 3p.m. all worn out. Put on some loafing clothes, and fell sound asleep. Woke up at six o'clock !!!!! So I don't know how the rest of the day will go...must have some light supper at home. Will probably spend the rest of the evening reading.

A blonde lady motorist was about two hours from San Diego when she was flagged down by a driver whose truck had broken down......

The man walked up to the car and asked, "Are you going to San Diego?"

"Sure," answered the blonde, "do you need a lift?"

"Not for me. I'll be spending the next three hours fixing my truck. My problem is I've got two chimpanzees in the back that have to be taken to the San Diego Zoo. They're a bit stressed already, so I don't want to keep them on the road all day. Could you possibly take them to the zoo for me? I'll give you $200 for your trouble.”

"I'd be happy to," said the blonde.

So the two chimpanzees were ushered into the back seat of the blonde's car and carefully strapped into their seat belts, and off they went.

Five hours later, the truck driver was driving through the heart of San Diego when suddenly he was horrified! There was the blonde walking down the street, holding hands with the two chimps, much to the amusement of a big crowd. With a screech of brakes he pulled off the road and ran over to the blonde.

"What are you doing here?", he demanded, "I gave you $200 to take these chimpanzees to the zoo!"

"Yes, I know you did," said the blonde. "but we had money left over so now we're going to Sea World."

Hi Everyone. We are going to have another beautiful day that will be sunny and in the low 70's.  Late this afternoon I will go to our son's home to get instructions on caring for his dog and cat until early next week.  He and his daughter are driving to New York to attend to some important matters.  After I get the instructions on caring for the animals I will drive out to the airport to rent a car for them to drive to New York.  Unfortunately, since the reservation was made with my Costco discount I will have to pay extra for me as a driver even though I won't be driving.  This is still a lot cheaper than buying airline tickets and them still having to rent a car when they got to Albany.

Other than go to coffee yesterday and make a quick trip to the garden center at Walmart I really didn't do anything else as wasn't feeling on top of my game.

Gloria, I turned the heat on this morning to take the chill out of the house. Pat turned off the dehumidifier as it was getting below 40 percent.  It sounds like they do nice decorating around your apartments.

Joan, I expect folks appreciated the cooler weather down your way.  I hope your rehab is going well.

Carol, sure hope Don is feeling better today.  Glad your VA experience has been so good.  All we hear about in the news are the examples of bad things and seldom a positive report on the VA.

June, I will have to try the suggestion that Lloyd and your doctor made about taking a deep breath and hold it when I am short of breath and start panting.  I remember once being told that when I was in the hospital and having angina.  You may have been thinking of my son, Scott, who has a week off.  He seldom takes time off from work and he needs some change of pace, which this weekend with the trip to New York definitely will be.  He is hoping to get to see his grandchildren while in New York. I loved your joke.

Hal, it sounds like you had a thorough evaluation of your walking and balance.  I hope the exercise  will benefit you.

Amy, thanks for the info on "domes".  I sure understand why the domes would be needed for your husband.  It sounds like you had a pretty full day yesterday if you didn't have time for a brief nap.

Jane, glad you are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel on the problems you are grappling with.

Good morning everyone, yippee the sun s shining at last. Rained most of the week so this is appreciated. This town had almost 4 inches of rain other places had over 5 inches. That is all the excitement in my life this week. Go down to the mail room and check mail, waling in the hallways is not something I do, if I cannot walk out in the fresh air I just stay in here. When I moved here there was a lot of socializing but not any more. Not much to say this morning, just have a great day everyone.

Post by: Joy on October 27, 2017, 11:17:08 AM
Good morning.

It is a pretty sunny morning here, but is beginning to feel like Fall weather.  It was only in the mid 30's when I first go up.  There were all kinds of frost warnings being put out last night.  By the time I was up and about, if there was any frost around my area, it had already disappeared.

Yesterday,  the sprinkling systems were checked and I don't think the man was in my place more than 2 or 3 minutes.  He didn't say anything, so I am assuming all was ok.  Our maintenance man was with him and he did mention that they would be testing the fire alarm systems today.  Each apartment has it own fire alarm and it can be quite loud when they go off.   A lot of people will go outside when they start, but I find that if I go into my bedroom and shut the door,  the sound is a lot less blaring.  Fortunately, the test doesn't last more than 5 min. so it is not too bad.

I did not have a very good night, so I am sure, there is a nap looming somewhere today.  Sooner, than later, I hope.  If I start to read, it doesn't take long before my head is nodding.

Gloria, here where I live, now that it is too chilly to sit outside, a lot of the residents gather down in the lobby to try to solve the world's problems.  There is a real nice lounge right down the hall, but nobody likes to go down there. I think the majority of the people like to see who comes and goes, and gossip.  When I go down for my mail, depending on who is sitting down there, I might stay for a little while.  Our resident's bulletin board is right in the same area, so I do like to see if there are any new notices put up.  A lot of the ones who usually sat outside do not seem to gather in the lobby area.

Like you, I tend to kind of stay in my own place most of the time.  I do play cards one night a week.

Joan, it is always so nice to see a message from you.  I sure hope that you are getting stronger and will soon be able to go back to your new place.  You hardly got to spend much time there, and I am sure you miss being in your own place.  I am happy that you are near your family now.

Larry, glad that Pat's sister arrived safe and sound and I know you both will enjoy having her spend some time with you. I am sure they are both busy catching up on all the things that "we girl's" like to talk about.  Nice that you were able to have a nice dinner at the Outback.  I haven't been to our local Outback for a good while now.  I am not a big meat eater, but I do enjoy their Prime Rib.  And, the last time I was there, they had a small version of the Bloomin' Onion.  If I remember correctly, it was just a plate with the onion petals and not the whole onion.  It was only two of us, so it was just enough.

Larry,  good that you are able to look after your son's dog and cat while they are away.  Will you go to his place or bring the animals to your place???

Amy, I am sure you will enjoy going out for tea.  Several weeks ago, a few of my friends and I took another friend to a Tea House to celebrate her 92nd birthday.  It was a nice little shop and we had a nice lunch.  It was called "Simplici-tea", which I think is a cute name.  A  little expensive for what we were served, but we all did enjoy getting together.  We had delicious cupcakes for dessert, but they were extra.  It was nice to go once, but don't think we will be going back anytime soon.

Lloyd, I sure hope you get to do some traveling.  Please don't wait too long to make that decision.  We used to do a lot of camping before and after my husband retired.  After retiring, we did travel across the US and saw some neat places. Unfortunately, we had plans to go back again, but those plans never worked out.  Not long after our trip, my husband was dx with MS and that kind of slowed down our camping adventures.  We were only able to go to some areas near where we lived.  But, it is a nice way to see the country.

Jane, I hope your life will soon get back on a more even path and your problems will all be behind you.  Seems like life sometimes gets in our way, in a way we don't want it to be.  But, you are a strong lady and I am sure things will start to get better.

Think I will head for my recliner and get a little reading in.

I hope all the  Friends will have a special Friday.

Joy

Oops, I hear the trash pick up & just had a call from a neighbor (visiting her son in CA), she left while I was gone & we all kind of watch each others houses when someone is gone.  I mentioned unhooking my hoses to her & she said she forgot to, so I volunteered to take my trusty crescent (we used to call them a "monkey") wrench... & disconnect hers when I bring my dumpster back to the house.  I'd better take care of those jobs before I forget.... supposed to have a hard freeze tonight, doubt if it would freeze hoses but not worth taking a chance.  Think I will wait until tomorrow to fill the RV gas tank (don't want to let my dollar off go to waste & must use them each month).  I have to start the engine to put the jacks up so will wait do do it same time since my father used to have a fit if anyone started a car & didn't let the pipes heat up enough to dry the condensation so they don't rust. Remembering to do everything at the right time is getting to be a stretch, I just don't concentrate....

Lloyd, when I was RV shopping I never did understand the big deal/difference between Class A or Class C.... except price & cost of insurance, etc.  So mine is a Class C..... mine came with large TV in the front over the cab, & smaller one (maybe 30"?) to watch in bed... king size bed & both TVs have DVD players attached.  With the full length slide out I have plenty of room but do think the table designed for the Winnebago is a better idea.  It is on a swivel that can turn so more room between bench seat & table.  I wanted a wood door to bedroom so I could close cats in there & not worry about them jumping out every time someone opened a door (like old LaurenKat did in Colorado).  Make a list of things you really want before you shop.  Since I found the one I wanted (after a year of shopping online), the week we were to go to Colorado, I had to decide fast & unload the one I was trading in & put all the stuff in the new one.  Was not a smart move or deal, but 3 years later it is still moving.

I have not pulled a car with it, (chicken).... not sure I can lift off the tow bar to disconnect so I can back up.  Good luck with your search, I do think I would enjoy being on the road for a year but not sure the cats would still love me.  I don't do the fishing but my sons love to, but they throw back.  Finally the youngest brought me a couple trout that he cleaned & I put all the seasoning & butter inside, folded up in aluminum foil & they put over the fire that evening.  I begged each to take a bite to know how good it is like that so they'd bring more.  I told them "there is good fishing at the lakes in MO & the Corp of Engineer campgrounds have electric hook ups so we have TV & all the perks".

Larry, I gave in & turned the furnace on this morning... was downright chilly in here.  Once I've been outside (& must get moving), it will feel warmer in the house.  I wasn't sure what lever to push or pull to turn the humidifier on & know that does help warm up the house, will call the heating & AC people & see when they can come change filters, etc.  My son did it last year but he's off for a Boy Scout camp out this weekend.  He keeps his CPR certificate up to date so he can help the boys with their badges... & loves being with all those boys & the fathers that come along.  Seems the fathers have a competition of which one comes up with the best meals with the fewest containers or weight.... my son admires one that will make different meals or desserts from one coffee can or new "back pack" find.  Each person takes & fixes their own meals, I think the kids also do their own cooking.  He goes with them twice a year & thoroughly enjoys the week end.

Better get out & take that hose off before I forget.  Sun is shining, cats wanted out to get their vitamin D.... they sleep all day but since they stayed inside last night... and slept, they probably need exercise.  They are 7 years old now so not as wild & crazy as a few years ago, I can tell a big difference on the road.  Wind is howling right now, the whole house is squeaking.  I need to replace batteries in all the door monitors because "somebody" is causing the central monitor to squawk at me. Have 8 zones & easier to replace all at same time. So many little jobs...I know, everyone thinking, "I'm sure glad I don't have to do all that anymore".....

Joy, after one day when my kitchen smoke alarm went off several times because it "smelled" something I was cooking, I got out the ladder & took that blasted battery out... and don't think I ever put it back.  I didn't know we had one in the basement until the battery kept beeping that it needed to be replaced (after Cas died).  You know how they won't beep when you want to find them but I'd hear it when I went to bed.  I did put a new battery in that one (I think, maybe... maybe I'd better check).  I keep telling my kids to do some of the fun things now, while they have their health, oldest 2 are retired with good pensions but spouses are not.

Good afternoon everyone!

We have a cool, windy day with lots of sunshine.  Had a new cold front come in early this morning.  Again no rain came with it.

Well got a call from my eye doctors office late yesterday afternoon asking me if I wanted someones appointment who cancelled for cataract surgery on Monday morning.  I told them yes.  So now I hopefully will get both eyes done before the end of the year.  So I had to call PT and cancel my Tuesday apmt and they pushed my new one with them to the middle of November.

I still haven't got that checkbook done.  I had another one of thos nights last night and got up feeling really lousy Got to talk to my PC doctor my next appointment about that.  Don't really know what he can do except give me sleeping pills and those things make me have horrible dreams.

Janie, happy one of your problems went away or got resolved.

Guess I had better go get myself cleaned up, it is already middle of afternoon and all I have done is splash a little water on my face and wash my hands.....

I have finished another short book, and had an easy lunch at home. Just didn't feel like a lot of food and friendship for some reason. Next thing on my agenda is the Budget meeting at two p.m. As I recall the one I attended last year was no raise in rental, or a very minimum. Quaker Rountree Gardens  is a non profit organization...very unusual in this money mad world of ours.

My Dori is off to a speaking engagement in San Bernardino county, so every time I think of her I ask God to keep her safe and happy. She is so precious to so many.

Time to get myself in gear and get down for the meeting.......

Home again, and here I will stay. Had a very interesting Budget meeting. Interesting questions asked and answered.I feel all the residents are content. That lasted about an hour, and we went straight into an hour of Choir. So I am beat....will stay home for the rest of the day and evening.

Tomorrow morning I plan to attend a Memorial service for the residents who have died in the past year. I think this is a lovely thing for management to do . Makes it feel more like a family than ever.

In the afternoon I will go to a class on Art Therapy..all materials provided. I am NOT artistically talented, but it will be fun trying.

Right now, I am glad to be home for the rest of the day, and will soon be in my nightgown, and home till tomorrow. I LOVE living here.

Good morning everyone, loooks like we hve a nice day is store for us today. Rain in forecast for tomorrow and again on Thursday. Of course on Thursday I have an appointment, figures.

JOY  wwhen they check the fire alarms here they put a notice up on an easle facing the entrance in the lobby to let us know. A few here seldom leave their apartments and never see the notice or they use the back door and do not see it. We have a bulletin board next to the elevator and it is surprising that so many never read the notices put there then complain that no one told them this or that. There is a bullletin board on all floors near the elevaot but not much gets put on them. I love being outside in fresh air. The front porch is nice and sunny most of the day. This place has changed in the 3 years I have been here. Used to spend time on the porch with a friendly group but this year no one sat out in the evenings, In the cold months we met in the library but that has not happened in more than a year.

SHIRLEY  I have had the heat on a few times already. Think this week end I will get my son to put the AC away. With all the rain this past week I had the dehumidify  setting running just to keep the air in here drier.

HAL  I would love to send the rain in the forecast for the coming week your way. The last storm dropped almost 3 1/2 inches of rain in this town but most of the winds stayed in the southern part of the state.

LLOYD  glad the hay was baled before the tire blew on the tractor.

Hi Everyone.  We are to have another nice day getting up to around 75 by late afternoon.  Scott and Jennifer's plans hit a little snag last night that prevented them from getting on the road last evening.  In fact, they just stopped by here on their way to pick up something.  It is a 14 hour drive so it is going to be a long day for them.  I have nothing on the schedule for today although I may attend a meeting this morning.  I will also watch some football this afternoon.

Gloria, that is a lot of rain at one time.  Too bad the socializing has stopped in your building.

Joy, I guess it is time for frost.  I saw on the news last night about the snow storm they had up in Minnesota (I think that was the State). Five minutes of a fire alarm would seem a lot longer to me.  However, it is important that they be working.  Hope you slept better last night.  What card game do you play?  I don't know how my wife and SIL could have much to catch up on as they talk on the phone almost everyday and they are not short conversations.  The blooming onion we had at Outback was very large.  I will go to my son's house to tend to his little dog and his cat.  My granddaughters dog has been taken to another location.  He now weighs almost 50 pounds and is still only 7 months old.  They could not leave him unattended in the house and we certainly couldn't have him here.  It will only be two or three days that I need to go and feed and water them.

Shirley, it sounds like your plate is full as you have a lot to take care of. Pat didn't keep the heat on very long yesterday and we haven't turned it on today although it is a bit chilly here in the house.  It nice your son enjoys his work with the Boy Scouts.

Hal, my first eye cataract surgery will be on the 6th and the other in early December so we both should be in good shape to read before the first of next year.

June, hope you had a good business meeting and your rental will stay the same. You sure are staying busy these last few days.

Jenny, it doesn't seem like 10 days since you went to Boston.  However, home always looks good after being away.

Lloyd, sorry to hear you have to deal with a tractor tire. At least the front tires are not the big ones.

Asked hubby if he would like to go for a drive to the chocolate factory and he said YES! Off the 4 of us went first stopping at the Cheese factory and then on to the chocolate factory. I also nipped into the quilt store for a few min and then we had lunch on the way home.
Company just left and now tis time to rest.

Enjoy your evening..

Another busy day. We had a memorial service at the Chapel this morning at 10 a.m. for all the Residents that have died in the past year. It was a very touching service. One lady that I had fallen in love with was on the list. She was a retired R.C. Nun..middle name of Hennesy. I used to sing to her in our small dining room..."Hennesy, Tennesey tootled the flute and the music was something grand, a credit to old Ireland was Mac Namarras Band." She loved it and always gave me a big thank you. after that, was an early lunch, then home for a short rest. Back downstairs for a painting class. We painted pumpkins. Mine is more the shape of an apple, but it was a fun couple of hours. Now I'm home, and here. I'll have a light supper at home as I had a big lunch downstairs, then off I go again, to a Hymn sing at the club house.

I can't believe a whole week has passed already, and tomorrow is Sunday already. Life is scooting past faster than I can keep up.  But what a Blessing Live is !

Gloria, I'm sorry the socializing has slowed down at your place. I know how you enjoy the visits you used to have with other residents. Is it possible for you set something up to have it happen again ?  They should have an activity director there, like most other places do.

I am starting to yawn my head off, maybe I can work in a short snooze before supper and hymn singing. Hugs to you all dear ones....June

Hi Everyone.  I usually don't post in the evening but decided to change things a bit so I won't be rushed  in the morning as we plan on going to Sunday School and Church and then out to lunch.  Pat and her sister have been playing a lot of Farkle and Shanghai Rummy.  They both enjoy playing games.  We are staying in touch with Scott and Jennifer via texts and they are now in Pennsylvania maybe are three or four hours away from where they are going.  The weather is looking very unpleasant up in New York for tomorrow and Monday with high winds and a lot of rain.  They plan to head back home Monday afternoon unless something unexpected happens.  They got on the road a little after 9 am this morning rather than several hours earlier as there was a hitch in some of their plans.  I will be taking care of the dog and cat for a couple of days and tomorrow will be able to do that after Church.

Joan, a sausage festival sounds interesting and I bet these have some good sausage things to eat.

Amy, when I read that you had gone to the chocolate factory I just knew that you would also mention stopping at the quilt store.  Is the cheese factory a restaurant or a place where they make and sell cheese?

June, it was nice of you to sing to the lady and it sounds like she got a lot of pleasure from it.

It sure has been unusually quiet here in the Soda Shoppe.

I've been in several times but didn't do a whole lot today.  Made my run to Sam's Club to get the chicken for the cats & the demonstrators were in full force so ended up buying more than planned.  They had a 3 pound "tub" of cooked pot roast that was just over $5 per pound.... not much more than an uncooked one & no waste at all.  I thought it was delicious so bought one container to have on hand when ever a family stops by over the holidays ahead.  Never know how the holidays will go, daughter is to have another hernia operation to fix the one they did several years ago. All of her kids & grands are going to be there for Thanksgiving & will do the cooking & take care of things.  Her husband is a rock & can take care of everyone, he loves fixing omelets for everyone, never less than 3 eggs each so I split one with someone.

Anyway, she can't travel until between Christmas & New Year so expect we will do our holiday when they come to Wichita... including 8 or 9 birthdays in November.  Thanksgiving will be busy with both sons having "other" families to be with & I'm always invited but may just suggest the 4 adults come have a meal with me the day they are't with all the others.  The little kids wear me out.  Usually I give everyone their gift cards & money for the 6 adults at Thanksgiving & tell the adults to buy their Christmas present from me & tell me what it is on Christmas OR next year they get a present I pick out that they don't want.  I have a stock pile of gift cards, plenty of Amazon & Lowe's for the grands to pick from.... 7 grands & only 2 not married or has a "special other" that comes to the gathering.... and each gets a $25.($50 per couple) gift card so counts up.  I buy the gift cards when the store has a "4x the amount toward gas points"... in other words, $250 worth of gift cards earns me $1,000 worth of points or = 35 gallons of gas at a dollar off.  I filled the elephant today for $1.27 per gallon... & used all but a gallon of my 35....

Larry, I had that wind & rain on my trip to MO last week.  Sure worked its way across the US.  We had/have Hal's cold front, I'm loving it.  You guys are being so brave about the eye surgery.... My time is coming & am not ready, everyone I know has had it done but don't like the thought of anyone messing with my eyes.  I'll be thinking of y'all when I'm kneeling & praying in the morning.

Joan, sounds like that cold front buzzed all the way down to you.  I wore my UGGs today, felt good.  Big difference between UGGs & sweater weather, huh?

I did get one job done, changed all the batteries (8 doors) for the alarm back up.  Haha, had a scammer call several times trying to convince me I won 2 & a half million from Publisher's Clearing House.  I played along for a while & finally told him I "was not going to pay money for taxes" when the check was delivered to my door and I was not going to give him my e-mail address and gave up & had to get rude to him (different phone number on the caller ID each time.... he was catching me on the phones that don't have caller ID attached, but I checked the phone easiest to compare later).  Same voice/person using phones from several different states.  He had to "check with his boss" & needed to call back because I wouldn't hand over money or send them an e-mail so they could send me all the data to read over.

I got some Halloween stuff for the great grands here in town... will give to parents or gr-parents in the morning, not sure when the kids will be going trick or treat but I don't open my door for any of them.  Last time I tried because some little ones were out before dark & parents or gr-parents waiting on the street for them.... and before I could close the door, not dressed up-bigger than me people were on the porch with plastic grocery bags held out & holding babies too little to eat candy!  Got caught by several groups of them & quickly locked the door & turned out lights....  with so many organizations & churches having Halloween parties for the kids, there isn't much reason for them to work the neighborhoods anymore, especially when there are no kids in the blocks surrounding us.  Some of the neighbors have had vandalism the last few years so I am concerned for the RV, debating whether to sleep in it with a camera & gun handy.   :knuppel2:   :bash: :broomstick:   :witch:  Do hope the patrol cars are roaming all night.

Time to get to bed, cats all in & had their midnight snack.  Got to be up early & out of here before 7:00 am so ... sweet dreams!  Shirley

Tisie, my wife has had both eyes done and she tells me the actual operation takes only about 20 mins.  And I know that they gave her something to make her sleep, I think it must be the same stuff they use for a colonoscopy and the for procedures on my back.  Never felt or knew a thing.

Don't know if I want to go over to my Granddaughters house for trick or treat or not, it will be the day after my eye operation.  I will see.  Jack and MaryTx say the operation had great results for them and no problems.  I think the biggest pain is putting all  the drops in.

Callie, what is it with the big 12 this year.  The last team with the ball wins?  Watched a little bit of the TT/OU game and will watch more when I sign off here.....OU is ahead, but,

Good Night everyone, God Bless and sweet dreams.

Hal, I was fully awake when I had my cataract surgery.  I think I went into the pre-op room a half hour before surgery and every few minutes a nurse put a drop in my eye to freeze it.  When the time came, I was taken to the operating room and the doctor started in.  The doctor put something over my face that had a hole for my eye.  He told me what he was doing and I never felt a thing.  The only thing I noticed probably was when he removed my natural lens and I had an explosion of color.  After it was out, things were quiet again and within a half hour for the drops and surgery, I was in recovery for a half hour.

Norm had his surgery a half hour before I did and Dot had to drive us home.  Norm and I had our first checkup the following day - I forgot who drove - and I had my final checkup at the end of the week and I drove myself.

Shirley, I too wondered how I was letting anyone monkey with my eyes, but I did because I wanted to see better and I'm happy I did.  I chose to wear glasses because of the weather (wind and dirt) but I've worn glasses since I was 17 and am comfortable with them.

Good morning everyone, aother stormy day in store for us here with rain and strong winds. Just what I am looking forward to -NOT. Already warning of power outage. Oh  once again a terrible Sunday, just like last week.

LARRY  this is not a happy building mostly because of the manager. There are some smokers that she has made teir lives miserable. There is a smoke shack and that is the only place smoking is allowed and she will accuse them of smoking in their apartments and then also some non smokers she accuses of it, too.  I can believe Pat and her sister can spend hours talking. My daughter and I spend at least an hour every day on Skype and others cannot understand how we find things to talk about. Easy to do.

JOAN  we seem to be getting more rain than we want lately. Sad that it does not fall in the drought areas that need it. It has been too warm here for the end of October.

AMY  I would love to go to a chocolate factory, yummy.

JUNE  several different things have been tried here but no one bothers attending anything ahy more. The big kitchen down stairs has had the doors locked at times by the manager so the pot luck meals have stopped. Even using the big community room is getting to the stage where when something happens in there the next day she will send notices around that someone levt the room dirty and if that keeps up those doors will be closed.

SHIRLEY  I never pick up my phone if I do not know the number and most just hang up but at times they will start talking and half the time do not make sense. Cataract surgery is an easy surgery. I had both eyes done several years ago with no problems. Not at the same time but more than a year apart as the other eye was not ready yet.

LLOYD  glad I spent most of yesterday outside because today is another miserable one.

MARY ANN  like you I was awake for the caataract surgery. I was nervous for the first one but no problem so was calm for the second one.

Have a good day, I will be getting flashlights ready in case we lose power tonight.

Good afternoon, on this horrible day, the anniversary of big storm Sandy. Which this is suppose to be very bad, with gust of 70 miles per. It has been raining all day, but the storm is not expected till hit till after dark,  Which I do not like.

Gloria, I also have flash light and two lanterns ready to go. It is time likes these, that I wish I lived in a complex.  June's sounds like a wonderful place,  there is only one out here in Greenport, but I never could afford it;   It is right on LI Sound.

I have not been in here for a while as I was in the hospital for 5 days.  With CHF and renal failure. They let me come home as my nephew stayed to help me. I think my age has finally caught up with me. I cannot keep up with June any longer. :)

Happy Sunday to EVERYFRIEND.

We made it home safe and sound even though we had a BIG shock when we arrived at Logan Airport.  Tried and tried to get our tickets to print and it could not be done.  Finally a agent came over to help....she could not get it done either!  She asked, “could you have missed your flight”?  No way we answered!  Well turns out we had.  Somehow Bob got confused about the times written on our reservation.....my heart sank!  I was so embarrassed!  The agent at Southwest could not have been any kinder to us.  In no time she had us on a flight to St. Louis, then connections to a flight to Denver.  No charge difference or anything.  They even let me board early as I always do even though we were considered to be stand by.  Thank goodness there were flights with a few extra seats on them.  All is well that ends well, but once again I have to say that Southwest Airlines are the most accommodating airline ever.

I had the worse leg cramps in both legs last night....I was screaming in pain.  I think it was a combination of not drinking enough water and sitting too much!  I know some in here have commented that they drink Gator Ade, but of course we did not have a drop in the house!

It is a beautiful day here....around 70 degrees, but there is a storm headed our way.  Halloween will be clear, but the temps will be in the 30’s.  Burrr.

I am off to meet my best friend from Wyoming for dinner. She was only available to meet tonight before she heads off for Wyoming tomorrow.  She has been here all week.

Have a good evening.

Jenny

I'm prettu sure something citeic will help to ease a leg cramp  There have been times when the only thing I had was a bottle of lemon juice and i stirred a couple tablespoons into water and it worked almost as fast as the gatorade.  I was desperate enough to jst drink it straight down without sugar or anything.  it worked several times

Thank you Jane for telling about the lemon juice as I too don't always have the gaterade but do have the charlie horses....
Between Jack and Charlie, they both keep me hopping!  :2funny:

Enjoy your evening everyone..

pretty quiet in here today, and I had nothing to add. I did drag myself off to Church today, but wish I had stayed home..felt crummy all day.

Gloria, that manager of yours is getting away with too much mis-management. She is supposed to keep the tenants happy and content. You must not have very many choices of care facilities in your area, or the tenants would pick up and move.

Gloria de, were you back in the hospital again dear ? I thank God that you have a nephew that can help you out. You wouldn't have had trouble keeping up with me today dear one.....I was worthless. Even our weather was cloudy and gloomy all day. I just read and read and read.

This is going to be a slower activity week here, so hopefully I'll get some paper work tossed out or at least organized.

Sorry I have nothing to add so I will bid you all a very good night, and a happy healthy tomorrow. I love you all so much. God keep you in His care. June.

Good Evening.  Well I have had my final glass of water and food for supper till after the procedure in the morning, sometime after 9.  I am hoping I have the same results that you all reported.

I hope none of you have any damage from the storms roaring through the Northeast.  I know I saw on news that lots of rain and wind in store for you.

At any rate, I am going to bed and hopefully get a decent nights rest, I haven't really had a good night in so long, seems like 2:30 AM is my wake up time any more.  But we will have to be out of here at 8 AM anyhow, my time to be there is 9, but I was told don't expect to get in right away.  But I will have several forms to fill out any how.

Good Night everyone, God bless and sweet dreams.

Home after the meet up with my dear friend.  It was so good to be able to visit.

Thank you, Jane.  I am still having signs that the cramping is possible, so I will go put some lemon in my glass of water right now.  I have been drinking water very faithfully all day and trying to make sure I do not sit too long.  Appreciate the suggestion.

LARRY, happy to read that Scott and Jennifer made it safely to New York. I hope they enjoy their visit.

GLORIA de, I am sorry to read you have been in the hospital again.  Sure happy your nephew was able to be there with you.

I hope the storm will not be too sever for you East Coasters.

HAL, best of luck to you tomorrow, and prayers for a successful procedure.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny
